( I got a little bit excited so this ended up being a little too long. I probably won’t be writing this much from now on so whoever replies to this please do not feel pressured to type a chunk of text. )
It all started off like this, and it was no lie: First off, the sky was a vast canvas of black with a few flecks of white splattered across, which dimly twinkled in the distance, far from their reach. The streets, both narrow and wide, were mostly empty with the exception of a few crowded taverns and their glowing, amber lights. Laughter seeped through the small windows, accompanied with an occasional string of yellow music.
The air that brushed past his face was cool, almost chilly enough to make him wish that he was still curled up in his bed with his blanket wrapped over his head. Even so, a small nefarious smile flitted across the lips of Ezio as his keen amber eyes took in the serene sight before himself. He was a lean man with smooth bronze skin and a rather sharp gaze, which seemed to draw in every speck of the city below himself. Every little corner, every little silhouette that loomed over the walls of the buildings from the lights above, and every little oblivious soldier (some who were definitely not at their right state of mind) came into his view from where he was perched. Some would say that he possessed a more slender physique, though he was undoubtedly muscular underneath his few layers of clothing from the years and years of fighting through persecution and escaping near death. He was currently crouched on one of the rooftops with the thick and dark curls of his hair brushing past his cheeks and his hand lightly resting on the hilt of his dagger sheathed against his waist. His golden earrings, which were long and thin with elaborate carvings, gently touched his jawline when another breeze swept past.
They were finally here, they were. It had been a year since Glass Eyes had disbanded with the execution of Enre Kensington, his former leader. It had been a year since Ezio had traveled around the Empire, searching for those who possessed something similar to that of his own: an ability that stretched beyond the imagination of any mundane civilization. An ability, they believed, that would come to destroy the corruption that plagued the Empire’s core. Despite the nonchalance and quips Ezio often displayed, the unfortunate day still haunted him, lingering at the back of his head, emerging within his dreams. Perhaps that was why he had grown to become more reticent than he had been before, back when Enre had still been alive.
He could still see the greasy, stubby fingers of that Emperor whose white teeth shone as he smiled, first innocently, then malignantly. There had been so much darkness in that plump and grey-haired man’s eyes. He could still see the royals fleer as their guards tightly surrounded his past companions, all who had still remained stubborn till the very end with their blades raised and their eyes filled with vigor. The memory was fresh in his head, even as he lightly rose to his feet upon seeing one of their spies (ah, yes, men who did not possess abilities still worked with them in disguises or as informants) give him the signal that the manor’s security had been somewhat lowered due to the time.
“Now then…,” he spoke underneath his breath, causing wisps of white to unfurl into the air from the cold. “I suppose we should start going, shouldn’t we?” He glanced over his shoulder to spot one of his companions slinked back in the shadows. These individuals he had gathered… their lives meant more to him than he had thought he would let on. Too much had happened within that year, even after they had gathered. There had been too many deaths and too many casualties; not just amongst themselves, but within the shadows of the capital as well. And they had seen it all together. He supposed that was why Enre had been so desperate to keep his subordinates alive. While pushing thick curls away from his face, Ezio quirked an eyebrow in their direction with the same curl of his lips. “I’m counting on you.”
The mission was simple enough. They would have to infiltrate the grand manor before their eyes and ‘take care’ of the man who was confirmed to be kidnapping youths after deceiving them. It would be the safest for them if they could get around the guards as much as possible, though, knowing them, they would most likely encounter them one way or another. It all just simply depended on when. The others who weren’t with Ezio were dispersed around the mansion, though he’d placed himself where they would be able to spot him from where they were, concealed and out of sight. He didn’t have to wave at them to make a clear signal; simply melting away from the rooftop of where he stood (it was surprising how many people were careless and never chose to look up) was enough as a signal for them to start moving.
Their mission to eliminate Donovan Callahan had begun.

Kiyoshi dipped his head, his bright eyes glittering. "Counting on me?" He snorted softly, a mischievous smirk finding its way on his face. "It's still odd hearing that." He shook his head, his eyes taking in all the details around them. "Anyway, yeah I'm ready, boss." The young man grinned beneath the dark hood that concealed the majority of his features. "We just have to watch out for the guards. According to what I researched before, the guards rotate every thirty minutes."

"I trust that you've told this to the others as well," said Ezio, though there was a small twinge of inquiry within his smooth voice as he too grinned a little at the other man's response. Boss? Yes, well... yes, boss. Despite the passage of time, it was still odd hearing that title. It had been what he'd referred Enre. Strange.
With that, he deftly pulled his hood up to conceal his features before swivelling around. "Now, come on, then, we don't have all day." Ezio was light on his feet when he carried himself through the streets and towards the back of the flamboyant manor. Already he could see the wide, darkened windows. For now, the coast seemed to be clear, but that would soon change. They had very little time on their hands.
"Hold up," he murmuerd, halting in his tracks and holding out a hand to stop the younger man when he noticed a movement in the windows. A few guards, with their hands resting on the hilt of their weapons, were speaking with each other with solemn expressions. Once they dispersed, the lean man lightly indicated the lower window with a tip of his head to Kiyoshi, though he paused.
The leader seemed to debate whether if he'd speak once again or not; his expression was visible despite the cowl concealing his face. When the tip of his fingers gently touched the edge of the open window (he silently thanked the spy earlier), he added casually (nevertheless a little more seriously): "Be careful, will you? If things start going bad, you know what to do." A mischievous smile. "Not that I'm too worried, I suppose."

It was a tad bit cold out tonight; not quite enough to make him shiver, but certainly enough to bother him. The chill had crept in around him as he waited. Waited for a signal, waited for something to do. Silas had never been the sneakiest fellow; that’s why lurking around in the shadows wasn’t his job. The thought of him scaling buildings in the same way the others did was ridiculous to him. Not that he couldn’t do it, no, but that he would be far slower and far clumsier when he went about it. Instead the man waited below, dark eyes flickering between the manor and the others. It was difficult for him to focus on just one thing, and when the pressure was on like it was now.
He breathed out slowly, clouds hanging in the air. Much longer, and he would have begun to pace, impatient and stressed with the stakes so high. But he told himself he could not pace, not now. He remained out of sight of the guards, but in sight of who he needed to see; that was the reason he’d chosen to stand here. The man was leaned casually against the wall, arms crossed, eyes narrowed, watching. Watching, naturally, for the signal to be given soon. The signal itself was nothing fancy, either. It was when they slipped away into the shadows that he would know it was time.
The sneaking around wasn’t how he would have preferred to do it, but it was how he would have to. The goal was to not run into any guards, and deal with this… Donovan… as quickly as possible. Silas’ hand brushed against the steel rapier at his side, gloved fingers twitching with a feeling of anticipation that he could not help. It was not long now, not long at all.

Kiyoshi nodded, glancing around, "Yeah, I did." He replied in a soft whisper. When he was told to stop, he did as he was told. At Ezio's warning, he couldn't help but grin, "You know me boss. I may know what to do, but I can't promise I'll do it." He joked, but he was not paying any less attention to his surroundings. Kiy glanced at the stars, "The guards will rotate in a few minutes, we must go now, or wait." The young man glanced over at the leader, awaiting the decisions.

When Ezio scanned their surroundings once more, he realized that his thoughts had trailed off to the others, albeit brief. Silas… what would Silas be doing by now? He was most likely impatient by now, he thought with a slight smile. The older man never seemed to be too fond of sneaking around, and that was something that he’d recognised for a while now. Speaking of the strong man, Ezio thought he could see the shadow of a man leaning against the wall with a hand next to a weapon’s silhouette. Perhaps that was Silas? In that case, the man would be able to see them, as well. The wave of Ezio’s hand was graceful when he gestured over the shadow he was certain was Silas. If not, there most likely would have been an alarm raised, and they would have been surrounded immediately.
Just like that night.
In any case, it would be more advantageous for all of them if the powerful man were with them during this mission. Silas’s strength, Ezio’s illusions, and Kiyoshi’s knowledge. It might have been considered to be an odd team, but nevertheless an effective one.
“We’ll go now,” answered Ezio quietly yet firmly with his glowing amber eyes turning back to the window. His sharp orbs seemed to become more vibrant when a transparent cloak wrapped around them with a small shift in the air. While Kiyoshi and himself and Silas would be able to see each other just fine, to the others, they would be nothing but thin air. It was a part of his illusion. A useful one, but one that drained his energy too soon. Already, Ezio had lightly slipped over the edge of the window and had entered the manor, though he felt himself wobble a little when he touched the smooth, polished floor. Perhaps it was because he’d already been exhausted, and the additional use of his ability was proving to be a little bit of a problem. He gently touched the side of his head before he made his way down the endless corridor. The place felt dreary, and the air felt thick.
“Did you say that his room was on the fourth floor, Kiyoshi?” Murmured Ezio, turning around to face the young man.

[ The Shadow ] Artemesia Eansey : Vane bold - reticent - captious Age: 28 Ability: teleportation; using this ability more frequently and/or for larger distances is more taxing on her energy levels. Overuse will cause exhaustion and the potential to teleport to some place in between rather than the intended destination. Items in her possession will teleport with her, but she cannot teleport other people with her. Other: n/a вlue вlood
still undecided on an ability :0 if anybody is feeling inspired then shoot ideas at me haha

Kiyoshi moved to help Ezio. He stabilized the man, allowing the leader to lean on him if need be. "Don't push yourself too hard, boss. Remember, I can use my energy to cause a distraction if need be." His voice, which usually had a humorous tone, was serious. "And yes, the room is on the fourth floor." Kiyoshi kept walking with Ezio, but kept glancing at his leader, to make sure he wouldn't keel over.

ooh an ability Let's see.. how about teleportation? Teleporting to short distances might help Artemesia get around the city or even manors like this one. Or maybe empathy...? By using empathy Artemesia could understand the dreams/hopes/desires of others and use that to gain information. Or maybe... hm...
edit ;; shadow manipulation is a good idea too like Fruit mentioned <:

[ For Kiyoshi's ability, could you take the whole flash rant at the end. The power pretty much let's him momentarily teleport anywhere, but he never actually leaves the spot, just in his mind or something is a good way to explain it, and it exhausts him the longer he uses and the farther the place. ]

Silas noticed the wave, which he knew wasn’t the signal, and smiled, raising his right hand in acknowledgement. He recognized that wasn’t the symbol, but he was glad that they were about to get started. They had to be; if they waited around for too long, everyone would die of old age. Or, more likely, dehydration, because that would definitely hit before old age did. But that wasn’t the point he was trying to make here. He flexed his fingers, tilting his head to the side, and the others moved.
It was go time.
The man recognized the sudden shimmer in the air and couldn’t help but let a smirk split his face. He pulled himself up onto the balcony above and ducked into the window the others had disappeared into. He moved quickly, as he knew the illusion would not last long. He climbed out into the room, rather than jumping down. Sure, perhaps it was a tad bit less gracefully than the others, but it worked well enough for him. He said nothing, moving with the other two. He would probably have to split off in a moment, or guard a door for them. It was best they took a silent approach this time, as much as he would have liked for… well, anything else.

Hope that's okay; if we'd like to pick things up though, anyone can incorporate a prompt that might provoke a fight )
On a normal circumstance, Ezio might have gently pushed the young man away with a small reassuring yet thankful nod of his head to signal that he was all right and tossed in some sort of teasing statement at that, too. After all, it seemed that some part of Ezio did dislike admitting any sort of fatigue (he was stubborn that way), especially after the indecent had occurred. This time, however, the lean man let himself lean a little against Kiyoshi, ignoring the thick curls of his hair that fell over his amber eyes as he did so. “Sorry,” he apologized underneath his breath until he heard Kiyoshi speak. “Right,” he then answered warmly with another one of his subtle smiles dancing across his lips. “Thank you, Kiy.”
His amber eyes flickered back over to where Silas walked with them. When it felt as if his lungs and head could take no more, the illusion unraveled itself, leaving them exposed once again to any eyes that would land on their forms. His grasp around the hilt of his own dagger loosened. “The others are probably waiting for us. Silas could y-”
“I’ve heard that they might be here, today,” a guttural interrupted from around the corner. “But that doesn’t make any sense, does it? I’m not skeptical that they exist, but do you really think they’d be foolish enough to infiltrate this mansion?”
At the voice, Ezio almost sighed, though he held his tongue. This was odd. Their calculations were usually never off, so why were there guards here this close to where they were? He indicated the wall with his gaze, as if to remind the others to press themselves against the vertical surfaces if they were going to get away with being unseen.

Silas looked to Ezio when he spoke, ready to have something to do. Anything was better than standing here, after all. He was of little use to them when he wasn’t fighting, and he knew it. They probably had some important job for him, or they wouldn’t have brought him along, at least, not on a stealthy mission like this one. So he listened.
The other man was cut off, however, by another voice, just down the hall and around the corner. Silas reached instinctively for his sword's hilt, but he stopped himself, giving the others a hesitant glance. Exploding into a fight would probably get them overwhelmed in a fight they couldn’t handle. That was, after all, the point in having so many guards. And, judging by what the voices had just said, extra precaution had likely been taken, knowing they’d be paid some company.
But this was unusual. The others were never careless enough to get so close to the guards; never close enough to hear them like this. He followed Ezio’s gaze to the walls, got the point, and did his best to flatten against it. Didn’t really work for him, but he did try. At least, with the occasional statute or vase lining the hallway, they wouldn’t all be seen immediately.

Following the examples of the others and nodding his head in Silas’s direction, Ezio also pressed himself against the wall while drawing in a small breath. His amber eyes peered over to the corner as best as he could without being caught or seen by those who were roaming around the manor. Even in the darkness, the decorations littered throughout the endless corridors shone from the moonlight that seeped within the large windows as if to mock them, tantalizing them with their expense and value. Were the others all right? Was Artemesia? His thoughts lingered a little on the shadow of the group before his focus returned to the woman who had emerged before the guards.
Wasn’t that Callahan’s mistress? The thought struck him abruptly, and he was left biting the bottom of his lip in what could have expressed surprise. What was she doing here? When she spoke, he tucked his dark locks behind his ear, as if it would somehow help him listen to her converse with the guards of the manor a little better. The tip of his smooth hand brushed against the golden earring that hung close to the side of his throat.
“…couldn’t sleep,” she seemed to say to the two men donned in gleaming silver armour, her voice too soft to hear clearly. Ezio’s eyebrows drew together. “I know... shouldn’t be up, but ...so frightened... terribly sorry if... causing you any disturbance.” Ezio almost snorted at the woman’s words. How people could act sweet at one moment and turn sharply the next. That aside, this was not good at all. Artemesia was supposed to have taken care of the mistress silently and as quickly as possible, as she was, despite her sweet appearance with her golden curls and bright blue eyes, just as guilty as her husband. It was known that Juliana Callahan never left her room once she entered it (at an extremely early time at that, too) but it seemed that, for some miraculous reason, she had tonight. Wonderful.
After massaging his temples, the man leaned his head back against the wall. Now then.. he was certain that, in the least, their meeting point had not been disregarded just yet. Worst case scenario, they would have to withdraw from the manor. While getting rid of Callahan would ultimately draw the eye of the Emperor and the people for certain, he couldn’t risk an unnecessary casualty. Especially when their information could have been leaked, and there would most likely be no more replacements for those with him.
In any case, it seemed that, for now, they would have to be a little more cautious as well as they regrouped, as they had planned before. They’d head over to the meeting point, which was at the end of the third corridor, where the stairwells the servants had once used before the renovation, rested. Most guards tended to ignore it, seeing by the fact that the area was considered to be useless for the time being. Slinking through the opposite way of the corridor, he walked with his footsteps utterly silent.

Silas listened, watching Ezio in the dark. They could not see what was happening around the corner, so he kept his eyes on the leader instead. He waited, for some sort of signal or motion, concentrating the rest of attention on the voices just down the hall. He had chosen to do so many because he knew that if he moved, he wouldn't been able to do it with the same manner of subtly as the rest. There was one voice he couldn't make out; feminine, too soft for him to hear. Ezio seemed to be listening, at least, and could share what he'd heard later. Silas narrowed his eyes. They would have to move to the meeting place; they would hopefully see the others there.
When Ezio moved he waited just a few moments before following. He kept close to the wall, his steps even slower. If it weren't dark and there had been eyes to see it, it would have been amusing to watch the large man try to tiptoe down a dark hallway. But, Silas knew, it was worth looking ridiculous if it worked.
They headed for the stairwell. That was where they had agreed to meet, if anything went wrong. It just so happened that tonight, everything had gone wrong. He grimaced, glancing over his shoulder cautiously, for sign of guards or the others. Nothing. "We may have to delay our mission," he murmured to Ezio, his voice low. Though he suspected the thought had already graced the man's mind, it couldn't hurt to tell him he agreed.

While her trio of comrades made their way through the manor - Ezio and Kiyoshi in their deft agility, and Silas... well, she was sure Silas was doing the best he could - Artemesia was granted the swiftest and perhaps most graceful method of movement. For her, infiltration was a mere matter of keeping her desired destination in her mind, and when she stepped forward next, the world around her was changed. Namely, what was around her in this case was the bedroom of one Juliana Callahan. Normally taking herself directly to the scene like this would be a great risk, but by all accounts, Donovan Callahan's mistress should already be sound asleep.
What greeted Artemesia was not the darkened room of a slumbering resident. A candle flickered on a small round table tucked in one corner. Half of the once drawn curtains had been drawn back once more, and tied sloppily. Most likely, then, handled by Juliana herself, and not a servant who would not leave their work done so poorly. Why the lady had done so could only be guessed at. The bed, while disturbed, remained not slept in. At most, the Callahan woman had relaxed upon it to read, but she had not retired to her bed intending to sleep tonight, that much seemed evident. Most jarring was, of course, the lady's complete lack of presence in this room. It barely took a glance around to confirm that the room was utterly empty. Juliana Callahan was already supposed to be dead, and instead, Artemesia hadn't any idea where she was. The thought of leaving a loose end like this snagged painfully in her mind, but she resisted any temptations. There was going to have to be some alteration in the plans, and that was Ezio's business. Speaking of, the others would be well on their way to the meeting point at the third floor now.
Frowning, Artemesia wandered over to the table in the corner. Illuminated by the flickery light, a few books accompanied short stacks of paper. Picking a handful up, most appeared to be letters, the names to and from whom they were addressed largely unknown to her. Such things were usually of interest to her; much information could often be gleaned from letters supposed only to see their authors' and recipients' eyes, not to mention it was the most concrete form of information too. However, she hadn't the time to be investigative, and the main objective of this mission was of the dirtier sort.
The rattling and creaking turn of the doorknob shattered the room's silence. Artemesia's reaction was thoughtless- instantaneous. She dropped the collection of leafy papers in her hands immediately, disappearing from the room before they even fluttered to the floor. In the heartbeat after, however, she chastised herself for such a foolish mistake. The disruption to the room would be obvious. If she'd only been more careful, her presence might have stayed unknown in the shadows. Now it was only a short matter of time before the alarm would be raised. Still, she had been conservative with using her abilities, and thus they were sharp, and had taken her to the safety of their meeting point at the old servants' stairwell. Exhaling into the gloom, a frustrated curse fell from her mouth.
