No, we've set sail, but only a few moments ago c: We're heading for Kydos first, and it's a really warm day. Other then that, the crew are just mingling, they don't know each other very well yet. Whetu and Kain are talking down below deck and Sonal and Xavier are unfurling the sails, but everyone else should be free. Is Iori a royal guard or a pirate?) { Sorry I disappeared. Okay, thanks! I just wasn't sure, hehe. Iori is a royal guard, sorry I didn't make that clear ^u^ }

Ryu sat at the bow, looking out at the beautiful waves of the ocean as they rolled around the ship in a lackadaisical whorl. The breeze played with his hair, carrying the comforting smell of salt. He absentmindedly traced the tattoo on his right arm, this one the word for strength. He wondered what his sister was doing. He listened to chatter behind him, feeling like he should probably socialize with people he'd be living with, yet not having the energy to do so. Instead, he remained where he sat, enjoying the breeze.
//~\\
Iori dived to the side, rolling over and bracing for the blow, which hit her sword and made her grunt. On the ground, she didn't have the strength to push back like she normally would, so she held her ground and considered her options. Her opponent was tiring, breathing heavily and sweating profusely. She suddenly got an idea. She pretended to wear out, dropping her arms a bit. Her opponent looked triumphant, and readied the final blow. She took the opportunity to dive forward, driving her head into her opponent's gut. He grunted in pain, and she quickly grappled him to the ground. She sat atop him, throwing his sword and wrenching his arms back until they popped.
He cried out, "I give!" Iori let him go, and he lay there gasping. She stood with a grin, raising her fist to the onlookers. Especially the boys, whom she winked at. Her father didn't show any emotion but a cold pride, as if he'd expected her to win the whole time. Iori knew that he did.
"Good job, Iori!" cried her best friend as she ran over. Hana was her handmaiden, but Iori didn't hesitate to hug her, and they ran off to get changed for the party tonight

I'll add all the new characters tomorrow c: Anyone who's here and wants to rp, I have Coran open on the ship and Chrysanta open back in Leibonia) Trying not to seem horrified, Sonal listened and inwardly shook her head. This kid had joined for the adventure? It'd be a hell of an adventure for him when they floated him back to shore in a wooden box. Still, who was she to judge? One way or another, they'd all ended up here, hadn't they? They all had that in common at the very least. Even that dog must have been swayed by something. Slightly annoyed that she'd just compared herself to a dog, she blinked at the sun and turned her face back to Xavier's, "Fair enough. The only thing we've got for sure here is that it wouldn't be dull." Maybe he'd signed on for a better deal then she had. After they found that Hoop, she was going to buy the smallest house she could find in the middle of nowhere and retire. She smiled, pleased to have swayed him, and reached for a new box, this one had multiple sections and some already were filled with bullets. They were cleaner and less older too, Whetu's own bullets. Mismatching and every kind under the sun, she fished a couple out and transferred them to an empty compartment, counting quietly under her breath. Numbers were evil. This was a well known fact. But they had there uses, "Glad you could see things my way." She smiled over her shoulder, "That being said - if you see anyone not um, pulling their weight, so to speak, do let me know. Slackers will not be tolerated." She did her best Cleoursian accent, having spent many months up close and personal with the Royal Guards in her prison cell. That Heath guy is just so angry. What was his problem. "That's for sure. Plus we've got quite the crew at the least, should be entertaining." Xavier shrugged, although he wasn't sure he trusted any of them to be capable of this mission they would still be amusing he was sure. He hadn't talked to many of them yet, in fact he didn't feel like he knew about any of them other than Whetu and now slightly Sonal. He had heard rumors about Kain, but for the most part he had no idea what the crew was like. Knowing himself it wouldn't take him long to socialize with them, he was a talker and a flirter, a big grin always plastered on his face with dimples and bright white teeth to match. He pulled a rag from his back pocket and wiped his face, his dark skin glistened with sweat from the hot day and labor they had just finished. "What will you do with your share Sonal? You don't seem like much of a partier." He teased playfully and leaned against the side of the ship. "Do I look like a snitch Whetu?" Kain asked with a snort at her accent, his icy eyes flicked up to her as he loaded a rifle in case they needed quick access to preloaded guns. It wasn't really a joke, but it was as close as Kain would come to teasing. He had no problem taking care of rats who betrayed or rode the tailcoats of others, but that was the captains job. He was fairly sure the crew he had seen so far wouldn't be likely not to pull their weight anyway. Even scrawny awkward Coran was eager to be of use and help find the Hoop which had surprised Kain. He knew Whetu had plenty of run ins with the law as had he, her poorly drawn portrait hung outside of taverns with rewards beneath and instructions to contact the infamous Heath. He was a piece of work, Kain had narrowly escaped him plenty of times and was well aware he hated pirates dirtying the 'perfect' reputation of his country.

Ireland is really cold and you can do the entire country in less then a fortnight. There are these little random towns in the middle of it with a population of like 30 people in each, and it's like falling back in times, some of them don't even have a post office. If you like complicated, shameful history and politicians that are despicable on every side then Ireland is for u c; England is basically the same but richer and with more roads. )
She watched the waves bob the ship with growing vigor and felt a little more at ease. Once the wind picked up, her queasiness was sure to pass, just as it always did. For now though, she was feeling gradually worse and began to wonder if watching the waves wasn't such a good idea. "I'm going to buy a small house in the middle of nowhere and never go on another ship as long as I live." Was all she offered, big hand tightening her grip around the edge of the ship. She refused to vomit in front of this boy, she's kick her own butt if need be, but he he kept making her talk it wasn't going to end well for either of them. "And you? Going to buy a palace on the hills?" She asked, gesturing back to the shining city, which was growing fainter and smaller with every minute. It was now just a dull shine that hurt to look at, the houses and whitewashed buildings indescribably blending together to wash the coastline in a lime-froth.
"You look like you'd do what it takes to keep this ship afloat." She countered easily with that lazy grin. If she had to pick any of her crew members to go drinking with, Kain would be at the very bottom of the list. Conall might even be above him. Whetu considered herself difficult to spook but there was something about this man that sent her signals, the primitive kind you feel when you're alone in the dark and you suddenly realize you're not alone. But this wasn't a party cruise. He had a point, about the others, they could fight, sure (well, most of them), but there was a difference between strong and tough. Kain was tough. He was a necessary evil. She closed the clasp on her box and leaned against the shelves, feeling the sway of the boat, "There is no honor among thieves, after all. But there could be a lot of gold."

Xavier observed Sonal's white knuckles gripping the side of the ship and he was fairly sure she looked a few shades greener, but he didn't have the heart or guts to point it out vocally. He thought of her game plan, small house no boat. He wondered if he could do that, just settle down and never look back. He couldn't imagine how that wouldn't bore him to death. He knew after all this he wanted to return home, to his real home, and try to find his family again, but he feared that more than anything. Xavier was fairly sure his mother and father had likely forgotten him and moved on, or the had already died poor, their beloved country still occupied. Xavier let out an exasperated sigh and shrugged casually "Maybe. I could get used to fancy living. But not here. Never here." He hated Cleorus as did many.
Kain rolled his eyes, she was right of course, he would do what he had to in order to keep this ship going. He needed this prize and so did all of them, but he would help make sure they reached it. Being cut throat was the only way he knew how to survive and he didn't think that had any potential of changing on this vessel, given the dangerous path that lay ahead, but he would do what he could to keep them all in one piece. He didn't like relying on others, but he wouldn't be able to reach the Hoop alone. There would be plenty of gold to go around if the stories were true. "That's what I'm counting on. We'll all be rich and happy by the end of this." He said and loaded another gun. Rich, yes, but people always said money couldn't buy happiness. Kain hoped to prove that wrong.

The ship doctor is not open, sorry c:' The cook is tho lol. thanks I wanted a change. There's no rush with either of them c; I am excited to meet Angry Man tho. ) "Agreed." She said, barely able to resist spitting at the sight of this city. Born and raised in Lat Sanang, Sonal had nothing but venom and contempt for anyone form this awful place. She'd grown up in slums, everyone she'd ever known had grown up in slums, she'd never even seen a tree until she was 17. And it was this terrible place's fault for sucking the money right out of her country. "Maybe before I buy that house," she mused out loud, "I'll buy this city, and burn it down." This was only half a joke, at best. If it weren't for the ridiculous amount if civilians packed into those streets she probably would've been serious. Maybe she'd just burn down the palaces instead. "Alright, you can quit cleaning those." She said, pushing off from where she'd been leaning and making for the stairs, "I only really wanted you down here to chat anyway." She admitted, swinging off the post at the bottom of the stairs. It lurched and gave an uneasy creak and she jumped, cursed and let it go, for fear of bringing the entire flight down around her. When they reached the next port, not Kydos, Gods no there was nothing there but sand, the next proper port, she was buying another box of nails. This whole ships needed a lick of paint. Taking the stairs more gently then she usually would've, she could smell the salt more clearly and was hit by that blast of warm air coming out the top. It was even warmer out here then it had been at port, she noted, shrugging off her coat.

(Haha I'm excited to rp him! I'll make his form probably today or tmr~)
Xavier saw her disgust for Cleorus and it's Capitol which made him a little more at ease. They had this in common, both of them hated this place and it's stuck up people. "I think that is an excellent idea. Might as well burn the whole country while you're at it. Nothing but no good scoundrels live there anyway." He snorted. It was ironic because many might call Xavier a no good scoundrel, but then again he had never occupied countries and practically enslaved their people, or taken little boys from their home right under their parents noses because of their 'exotic eyes and skin'. Just barely being able to see the port in the distance gave him a shiver of disgust. Now that he thought about it, he realized it would be nice to fund poor countries to force out Cleourians. He just didn't want another all out war.
Kain scowled and set down the rifle he has been working on at the table. She had wasted his time with a chore that needed to be done in order to interrogate him. He wasn't entirely surprised, people rarely ever wanted a friendly chat with him, most backed off a hope of friendship the second his icy eyes shot them a glare. Whetu had wanted a talk, to see his motive and begin get a survey on the crew. He took off his jacket, leaving a black vest and white shirt underneath. He was still warm and silently cursed the weather as he climbed the stairs back to the main deck. Sonal and Xavier were chatting, Coran was navigating, if you could call it that, that dumb dog at his feet, Camilla looked bored and Ryu was staring off into the distance. Quite the crew.

To get the royal guards interacting with other characters, shall we have them board the Blackguard? Like some kind of random routine inspection and Whetu's like ♪~ ᕕ(ᐛ)ᕗ )
"No good scoundrels and goats." She nodded. She wandered across the desert flats of that country once as a young woman as part of a traveling circus, (she was not actually one of the acts, just there to carry crates) and there had been an absurd amount of goats. More goats then people in some places. Needless to say, she'd eaten plenty of goat as a result. She glanced at Xaiver out of the corner of her eye, he had something of Scaii Shen about him, but she decided not to ask. In this line of work, people told you what they wanted to you to know. Nosey-parkers tended not to be taken lightly. It would explain his hatred of Cleorus, though maybe the sight of excessive wealth turned him. That was unlikely, she corrected herself, give the circumstances. "I can't wait 'till we dock in Lat Sanang," she rubbed her face, thinking about how long away that was, "This place is too dry. Too open."
Whetu had been surveying the crew herself, but she had her hands on her hips and was beaming like a mother hen. Her crew was perfect and she loved them. She could guess what Kain was thinking, but he seemed quiet about it. Not surprising. Coran looked up at the movement in his peripheral vision and saw his captain and peer emerge. He smiled and gave a little wave, one hand on the steering wheel. The hand he'd raised caused the map to curl up at one end however and he quickly attempted to flatten it back out with his elbow. Conall was lying on his feet, he realized, and had pinned him down, so it was difficult to lean back over and straighten out the map again, entertaining to watch (or painful, depending on your temperament) and took nearly over a minute, but Coran managed to salvage his map and his steering eventually. Yes, this crew was excellent.

(I think that would be fun! Heath is awful lol he's going to be mean to all of them haha I really love this rp and all these characters already~)
Xavier laughed loudly and arched a brow. "Goats? Is that part of your insult Sonal or an observation?" He asked her teasingly, although he was fairly certain it was a large part of each. Both of their strong hatred made him feel like somewhat of a kindred spirit with the large woman. He had spent a lot of time in the country on jobs and nothing made him change his mind. Part of him was thrilled to visit Lat Sanang, he had only been a few times to the port, he knew it didn't have as pleasant of a reputation, but he remembered his mother speaking fondly of her country and he had the desire to share her experience and love. He wondered if the weather and glades of Lat Sanang would resemble what he remembered Manpere to be like. "Yes, it will be much better than here." He agreed enthusiastically.
Kain stood beside Whetu for a moment, his own scowl mirrored her grin as an exact opposite. His eyes narrowed slightly from the sun, his lips pressed thinly in suspicion as he glanced at each of the crew members. His mother would have told him to stop seeing everyone's flaws and that was no way to go about meeting people. But his mother was dead and Kain was judgemental. He had to be. He could almost feel the joy radiating from Whetu which was startling. He watched Coran wave then stumble around like a pathetic little comedian at a comedy show. He rolled his eyes eyes and shook his head a little before he pushed his hand through his dark hair. Even Sonal looked a little green, he didn't know how they were going to pull this off, but he said nothing anyway. Plus, despite his clumsiness, Coran had been more than Kain had originally excepted when he talked to him at the diner. That was as much credit as he would give him for now, especially after that pathetic display.

Me too! I'm a total sucker for the misfits-with-no one-becoming-family trope and all of these guys have so much character ^^)
"All the buildings here are so small." She muttered, as if it were the worst thing she could imagine, which, to someone of her size, was. Shoulders caught in doorways, heads banged off of ceilings. At least in Lat Sanang most of the houses were built out of things that could easily maneuvered, no white stone. Xavier was a tall guy, he must've experienced it too, "I need tall doorways and high ceilings. Captain's damn lucky she bought a boat with big doors." She could see her now, with that cold guy (Kane? Kale? Damn, she'd forgotten already.), one with an ear-to-ear grin and the other with a glare that could kill a weaker man. "Last thing I need on this thing is a concussion." The doctor seemed nice, but she was what, 8 years old? Ever the pessimist, Sonal could see herself dying on this awful, swaying (don't think about, don't think about it) ship from something as stupid as a low doorframe.
It was hard to see the map in this sunlight, such a glaring day. It was bouncing off his tiny frames and dancing around the ship frantically when he bobbed his head to get a closer look. Coran straightened himself up and gave the wheel a heavy tug to the left, having to throw his entire body against it. The result was the ship taking a very dramatic jolt, necessary, apparently, for the course (according to this map), but sending everyone who happened to be standing skittering to the side. Whetu, usually ready for anything, was not ready for this, and ended up on the floorboards, head spinning, "Dammit Coran! What was that for?" She called, rubbing her arm where she'd landed. Her vision was doing that thing vision did where, even though you were still, the world was tilting and whirling at an alarming rate, making her cross-eyed and dizzy. The navigator himself had fallen too, and was scrambling up to grab the wheel again before he crashed into the sandy cliffs, "Sorry!! I had to make that turn!"

(Ugh same I love friendships among characters especially since they're all sooo different and cool!) (Kale hahaha)
Xavier laughed again and nodded in agreement he leaned back a little with his arms crossed. "Yeah I'm so tired of hitting my head on every low doorframe I walk through. I feel like I have a permanent scar." He rubbed his forehead to demonstrate where such a mark would be. "It's a good ship. Could use a little work though." Xavier agreed, referring to the creaking floor boards and chipped paint. He kept his voice lower for that part since Whetu would have his head for a comment like that about her precious vessel. He glanced over at Whetu and grinned at her, but Kain freaked him out a little. He was the kind of person that could be attractive if he didn't look ready to slit someone's throat every time they spoke.
Kain, also a very prepared person, had been busy scowling and was thrown from his feet as well, his side slammed into the railing of the boat and he grunted in pain. His eyes icy daggers glared at Coran as he held his side and pulled himself to his feet. Of course he shouldn't have given that idiot any credit, he couldn't even do his job properly. Camilla, who had been sitting, let out what might have been called a squeak as she rolled to the side. She was up quickly though "Whoa. Let's maybe not lip the boat over Coran." She teased, but obviously wasn't very upset. "Everyone okay?" She asked, Whetu looked a little dizzy, Kain was holding his side and she looked to see of Sonal was ready to be sick since she hadn't been doing very well before that.

nothing gets me more then supportive platonic relationships where everyone's a massive nerd im going to have her call him that for the entire rp)
Poor Sonal. So young. So much to offer. Such a shame she was going to die here. That was it, it was the end, after everything that she'd been through this was how it ended. That lurch was the final straw, and the woman lost whatever dignity she'd been trying to salvage. At least she managed to vomit over the side into the ocean. Unlike that dog. It had just up heaved it's last breakfast over that kid's shoes. She heard the doctor ask if everyone was alright, but didn't really process it. Tears sprung up at her eyes, as they do when you're physically ill, and she really, really began to regret that egg sandwich back in Cleorus. She managed to grunt out, "I'm fine." In response, before preceding to be sick again. This had been a long time coming. She wondered if Xaiver was dead. She felt like everyone was dead. Whoever gave her grief for her sea sickness would be dead. And, regardless of what he said, she was killing the navigator first. As soon as she could stand up straight again.
Whetu clamped her head with her hands, squeezing tight at both sides, "I'm good!" She offered, waiting for her eyes to settle, which they did, mercifully. She didn't know much about blind captains, and that was for a reason. Kain looked like he'd gone from 'who should I murder first' to 'OK, I've decided' and, to clear the air, she tried another grin, "Well, that's the ship broken in." She shrugged, but groaned and put her hands back almost immediately. Coran was trying to scrape dog sick off his shoe with the other while holding very tightly onto the wheel. Already terrified of other peoples opinions, he was visibly sweating and knew that if he let go of the wheel his hands would be shaking, "Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry..." he repeated multiple times, knowing he was rambling, but unable to stop.
whetu is forever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

(Yesss and everyone would Lowkey die for each other but they just tease and I love friendships where they break out of their shells <3 Hahaha he's going to hate it but it needs to happen this is great)
Xavier had been tossed against the mast, his back hurt a little and his head, but once the stars cleared from his vision he could clearly see Sonal over the edge surrendering her lunch to the sea. He zipped his lips shut, unwilling to comment, it was rare for Xavier not to make a foolish remark that would get him in trouble, but in this instance he somehow found the ability to avoid teasing. It would be cruel anyway, sea sickness was suffering enough. "Nice steering there!" He called to Coran, it wasn't as light and playful as usual since he was frustrated. He wondered if he should pat Sonal's back or something, but decided he valued the use of his hands and didn't want to compromise them in any way.
Kain shot a look to Whetu that was very close to 'I told you so' since moments before he had warned her that this crew wasn't fit and here they were a few minutes later Coran screws up and almost throws him overboard. Kain didn't swim well, which a as ironic for how many times he had been on a boat, and he wouldn't be telling the crew that it was far too much weakness to show. He was pretty sure Coran's endless string of sorry's was more annoying to him now that his actual mistake. "Just shut up Coran. What's done is done." He stated, which could have been considered forgiveness, but that was unlikely for Kain. Camilla cringed a little when she noticed Sonal over the side of the ship. Should have taken the mint Hm? But nobody listens to me now do they. Psh. She kept her thoughts to herself and prayed that woman couldn't read minds. She went below deck to retrieve some mint leaves, they would be subtle and she felt Sonal was more likely to chew them than take actual medicine, but the woman needed some sort of help or she would be heaving the whole journey.

{ Hi~ I'm here *u* I'm going off of what you guys said, lol }
Ryu moans, feeling achy. He rolls over, bumping against the barrel he'd hit when the ship had lurched. He stands and stretches out his sore muscles. He looks at the rest of the crew, also reeling from the aftermath. They seem too prideful to take care of their injuries, making him sigh and roll his eyes. He walks over to the barrel from earlier, now gently rolling across deck, and picks it up to set it back in place. He eyed Captain Whetu, wondering what conversations she was having. He slowly waddles back to the bow, wondering if he should see the doctor for real this time as the aches persist, and takes a seat once more. Staring at the hypnotic waves calms him and makes him forget his worries. He feels like swimming, but resists the urge to, in case the ship lurches again. - Iori wakes up with a hangover, regretting all the alcohol she consumed last night. Of course, she had walked in looking beautiful, but by the time she went home she had been a complete and utter mess. Now, she drinks some water with minerals in it, trying to ease the pounding in her head and her queasy stomach. It doesn't work very well, finding herself vomiting it all up again. She deeply regrets the alcohol. Why exactly had she drank so much? She can't remember through the fog in her head, interrupted by more vomiting. Hana came in fresh as a flower after rain, which pisses Iori off, but thankfully accepts Hana's wet washcloth anyway.
