This is a super cool thread! I'm currently very unsure spiritually, but I do want to find my 'path' as such. I'm incredibly interested in crystals and spirits, as well as tarot cards, I'm just not sure how to go about it. I also want to learn more about taoism

i'm a polytheistic witch, although i haven't really worked with any deities yet. i do a lot of divination with tarot and pendulums, but i've been reading up on some lesser known forms of it that i want to try soon! and i'm super bad at keeping a physical grimoire so i just keep track of everything on a tumblr blog haha photosynthesis working with tarot and crystals is the stuff i do the most!! if you have any questions feel free to ask :0

some questions for everyone
Do you use a Ouija board? If so, tell me about you experiences with it. Did you make it yourself? I made my very own board from scratch, out of materials I had laying around such as cardboard and paint. It has various protective and personal symbols on it, and I usually place my makeshift ankh or my horn pendulum on it for added measures. I personally believe that you should make your own boards. Why? Because I've had nothing but bad experiences with ones that came from a factory, and I think that's because there's a lot of "unclean" energy that gets shoved into em. In theory you could cleanse one, but imo it's not worth the trouble as a board you make will have YOUR energy in it just by making it and will therefor be more sensitive to you and be less prone to giving you a bad experience.
For the non-witchy folk in the thread: when do you feel closest to your religion/spirituality? (extends to things like kintypes here!) Personally, I feel very close to my practice and my Gods when I'm helping people, weather that be with a certain problem or just helping them learn something. Also keeping people informed about important things. I also feel close whenever I work at something, such as being a better person or even a piece of artwork. And then of course, there's the usual suspects such as walking in nature or doing ritual work or meditating.

Hey there~ Nice thread here.
I was born and raised Catholic, but I generally believe in a lot of different things. Karma, reincarnation, divination, astrology (to an extent). In a way I'm still trying to figure out my full spiritual system. Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself here and lurk a bit o3o

i feel closest to my religion when helping ppl. like idk how much non-Jews know about Judaism and Jewish values but we really really stress helping others !! also it's traditional that 10% of your yearly income will go to charity. i don't have enough of my own yearly income to be able to do that rn (even tho it's kinda something everyone is supposed to do), so i carry around food w me sometimes and i give it to people who seem hungry. i also tend to have extra stuff on me-- for example, water, tissues, bandaids, etc. i also just try to do good. even if it's little things.

i think i feel closest to my religion though when i'm in prayer? we have this thing called adoration where we sit in front of this thing called a monstrance which holds what we believe is the body of christ. it's normally only an hour, and it's normally before the sacrament of confession (when you tell a priest your sins so you're forgiven them), and even if you don't pray the entire time it's just a nice block of time that you set aside to reflect on your life, your choices, your actions, and those around you. praying is good too though.

Can you give like a quick lessen of your faith, gojira? I forget if you practice Wicca but I like what you talk about so I want to be enlightened. It's okay if you don't want to though

I'm a little confused about my religion... could a Christian pm me? I do believe in heaven, hell, god, Satan, and Jesus. But I'm afraid I'm still going to hell. If a Baptist or something similar could message me and talk to me about it is much appreciate...

Can you give like a quick lessen of your faith, gojira? I forget if you practice Wicca but I like what you talk about so I want to be enlightened. It's okay if you don't want to though sure! i'm not a Wiccan, although I did poke around it a little bit (wasn't for me, obvs.) I'm an ecclectic pagan and witch, although the bulk of my practice and worldviews are made up of Kemeticism- i just throw a few non-Egyptian deities in there too (more like "they broke down my door and invaded my home" but that's another story.) Here's some of my core values and the things ive learned in the last couple of years: -Follow Ma'at. Ma'at is about not being an absolute jerk to other people, basically. There's 42 laws of Ma'at, which are pretty standard fare- don't kill people, don't steal, etc. etc. It's also about balance! There's not really a devil/Satan figure in Kemeticism, but we do have apep/apophis who basically wants to destroy Ma'at and balance. we always strike out or put dashes like t/his in its name as naming things give them power, and we don't want to give power to a force of uncreation. -...which leads me to the next thing i've learned, there's power in words! basically, i believe that when you put something out there, it affects something in some way, which goes for words. -EVERY experience and person has something to teach you, every God has something to teach you. you have to be open to learning or you aren't gonna get very far! -in Kemeticism, there's a lot of different stories that conflict the absolute heck outta each other, so learning to see contradictory things as simultaneously true and also that there are multiple iterations of Deities is something I've accepted, although it was hard to grapple with when I was newer to things. whew, that wasn't very quick at all ORZ

I have a hard time with it so i usually only pray to my patrons (as well as Quetzalcoatl- he seems to prefer a more formal approach than the "hey i'm gonna sit down and just mentally talk @ you" method that i go for)

I've never used a ouija board in my life. As for your second question, I'm not even sure, tbh.
Even though I'm Catholic, I'm not extremely religious, either. I believe in God, yet find myself questioning His decisions at times, and I haven't been to church in a long time, but like I said before, I do find the history behind my religion and other belief systems to be very interesting. At the same time though, I believe in several other things outside my religion, such as spirits and karma and reincarnation and witchcraft just to name a few.

Ah okay. How do I know when I have a connection with like a deity? I never felt close to God which was why I left Catholicism but when I think of nature spirits and nature gods, even if I don't have a name for them, I feel like that's what I should believe in. I also feel close to the moon so could a patron god of mine be someone like Artemis?
