Uriah nodded. "Who know, maybe we could travel as a team or something, that is after you get promoted...." He began to trail off, realizing the stupidity of that idea. Traveling took money and money was one thing Uriah didn't have. He wondered if he could find a job in Arabella's country. They wouldn't know about his servant's past and he was very skilled in multiple trades. If he could scrounge up enough money maybe he could find some clothes to look presentable standing beside Arabella.

"That would be fun actually! I wouldn't mind traveling around. Besides what just happened, traveling has been quite fun. I can't imagine how much fun it would be if I had someone to travel with." She smiled at the prospect of traveling with Uriah. Arabella was already thinking of all the places they would go together. They would see oceans, plains, mountains, and so much more. "Now you have me fantasizing about everything we could possibly do!" She laughed.

"Really? I'd like that too. I've never even seen the ocean before. Is it beautiful?" Uriah asked completely taken off guard by her answer. He shouldn't have been so surprised though. It was the way Arabella seemed to be. "I didn't know how keen you'd be on traveling with..well." He gestured to himself and his raggedy clothes. He wasn't much to look at, not in the ugly brown rags he wore. He'd be an ebarressment to Arabella in her country, he was sure of it.

"The ocean? I haven't seen it before. I've heard it's beautiful." She had a dreamy tone as she spoke but snapped out of it when Uriah brought up the other thing, "I wouldn't be embarrassed by you! Plus, after I get paid, you can just get new clothes." Arabella would never have thought of Uriah as an embarrassment. Who would after they just saved their life? And theirs. She ran her fingers through her hair, "You could never be an embarrassment. I want you to know that."

Uriah noted that she hadn't seen the ocean either. He sighed. "But I don't like you having to pay for everything. It makes me feel.... dependent." He cringed, trying to find the right words to how he felt. Uriah looked over at Arabella. "Thanks, Bella." He smiled. At least she talked to him like a human. Anyone else would have said he was an abomination to be with. "No one ever says that to me." He said, smiling a little wider.

"Well people should say that more often. Because it's true." Arabella lowered her gaze, "I hate for you to feel that way...but what else can we do?" She gave a sympathetic look to Uriah. No one should feel dependent on another person their whole life. Like that person was...your master. She now just begam to realize what that must feel like. Arabella put her hand on his shoulder, hoping he didn't mind.

Uriah was glad she didn't get angered by his comment. He knew there wasn't much else they could do about his money situation for now. He prayed for a job later down the road. Uriah felt he had on his shoulder. He wasn't used to touch not the soft kind anyway. It made him want to close his eyes. He put his hand on top of her briefly. "Thank you." He said again, unable to voice the comfort she gave him.

She gave him a warm smile, "Anytime." She moved her hand and stood up from where she was sitting. The horses finished drinking a while ago but it was nice to just sit down and talk with Uriah. Arabella walked over to them and put her hand on the black horse she was riding. She reached into the pockets she kept her maps and opened the one she just used earlier that morning. "Do you think the other towns around here have been alerted of our presence? The closest one I see is about 15 miles west." She closed up her map and pocketed it.

Uriah stood up after her, walking over to his stallion. He was glad to see the horse had cooled off decently. It would be bad to have lame horses on their hands. "Most likely." Uriah said, running g his chin in thought. "But they will only have a description of us, if we could make up some disguises and keep the horses out if sight we might have a chance. Or if we find any sympathizers." He suggested thinking of ways to get into towns. There was also the people who would help you if you paid them enough, but they could easily be sold out by the same person.

She bit her lip as she started of thinking of what to do. Arabella was so focused in thought she didn't notice her lip bleeding a little. She turned away from Uriah, hoping he wouldn't notice. "Maybe we should lay low in the woods for now. Just for a few days, and then when the towns relax a little we can go in. What do you think?" That was the only plan Arabella could think of. If they went in today they could be caught the instant they step foot in the village. Bribe? Arabella didn't have enough money for that. "We'll find a better spot I'm sure to camp out at." She hoped

Uriah tipped his head curiously when Arabella turned away from him. "That's a good idea. I know how to made a wood shelter." Uriah said as he looked around. "We just have to make sure they don't send any patrols into the woods, which I doubt. They think it's too much work." Uriah looked at tye river. "We could follow the stream and see if there is a better spot further up." It wouldn't hurt to explore. The day was only half over and they had nothing else to do in the meantime. Maybe they could build some traps for a rabbit or two as well.

She turned back around once the bleeding stopped, "Yes, that would work. And your probably right, it would be too much work to send a patrol up this way. If they do, we need to head deeper in the woods." Arabella got up onto 'her' horse, ready to start heading up river. Hopefully they could catch something to eat. She hasn't eaten since yesterday morning and her stomach felt hollow.

Uriah swung up the stallion which was happy to comply with his commands. That goodness he hadn't got a stubborn horse or one that whinnied all the time. Uriah followed the river, even letting his horse wade in it every so often. If anyone came looking for them they would be hard to track. The woods started to thicken and Uriah spotted many places they could set up a camp. He stopped his horse. "Is this okay?" He asked, looking back at Arabella.

She looked around Uriah at the spot he was mentioning. "Yes, this will do. I've never learned how to set up a camp or anything in the woods, so it looks like you ahve to take care of me this time." She said jokingly. But it was still true. Arabella grabbed the horse's reigns and tied it up to a low hanging, thin branch. Hopefully it was thick enough to keep the horse from breaking it.
(I was thinking we skip to night soon and then maybe the guards find the two and grab Arabella while she takes first watch or something)

The water snake slithered along the riverbed, its eyes watching the horses coolly through the water. A boy rode one, skirting the edge of the stream. A girl rode the other, keeping more caution. Now they had both dismounted, moving slightly away from the water to set up camp. The serpent watched as they tied up their horses. All the while her brain was ticking. Children... she thought, her long, sinuous body winding itself around a large rock in the river to anchor herself. Ssssso far from the cccccity.... What are you running from? Carefully, she moved back down the stream until she was far enough away. Then, she left the water, careful not to make a sound. As she moved, she left a long, wet trail behind her. Looking back at the water, the serpent let out a hiss of displeasure. Too eassssy to track, she thought disdainfully. She closed her eyes, envisioning her new form. Slowly but surely, the snake's scales turned to black feathers, jaws to a beak, long body to wings and a tail. In a matter of seconds, the jackdaw flew off, following the stream. It wasn't long before she arrived again at the camp. Circling down, she alighted on a branch where she could watch the boy and girl. Can't let them out of my sight.

Uriah jumped up and snapped a dead branch off. "It's easy really. You just take these branches over to a pine tree." He walked over to one. "Stack them up against the trunk in a line or a circle. Cover them with more branch's and ta da!" Uriah motioned to the imaginary shelter. "A warm and sheltered place to sleep." Uriah set the branch down briefly to tie his horse. He glanced at Arabella before looking away. His cheeks grew hot, why was this so hard. "So do you-uh want a separate shelter or-" He cut himself off with an awkward cough.
(Both ideas sound good. #awkwardUriahisback)

Sorry! Was at the store!)
Arabella thought for a moment, "I don't really care. Whatever you think." Arabella wasn't really paying attention to the question, nor did she care. They were just friends. Right? She shook her head to clear the thought. They were just friends. Arabella looked up at the trees, wondering which one had just the right branch to sit on. She missed her childhood days and figured now was a good a time as any. She noticed a bird sitting on the branch that caught her eye. She turned to Uriah, "Have you ever eaten jackdaw?" Arabella remembered being hungry and that was the closest thing that would serve as a meal besides 'their' horses.

Uriah was almost flustered. He really did not want the decision left up to him, but if the forest did get cold tonight it would be good to have a shared shelter to have more body heat circulating. Uriah looked up at Arabella. "No, I don't think so anyway." He responded. Maybe he should set to work on those twitch traps. He looked around for some slender sticks and searched his horses saddle bag for any twine. He was pleasantly surprised to find some and set to work. How could they catch a bird anyway. It would just fly away.

*I bet it tastes like chicken* Arabella thought to herself. No matter, she didn't have a bow anyway. "Anything I can do to help?" She inquired. She felt kind of useless just standing there. It wasn't what she was used to, Arabella always had something to keep her busy. Even when she was a kid, she remembered her mom giving her chores all the time, but she wasn't sure what the reason was behind it. Maybe because she would misbehave or something when she was little and not distracted.

"Can you hand me those twigs?" Uriah asked, nodding at the small group he had gather. If he tried to grab them, the trap would fall apart. He tied part of the twin and cut it with his knife, glad he had remembered it before leaving the stables. He glanced at Arabella. "Ever catch rabbits?" He asked with a smirk. Maybe he could somehow teach her a thing or two, if that was even possible. Arabella seemed way smarter then Uriah could comprehend.

Arabella went over to the twigs he motioned towards, "No, I haven't. I'm assuming you have?" She hasn't really hunted much before only one time and she was pretty sure it was luck. She brought over the twigs and sat next to Uriah, hopefully not too close for his comfort or to get in the way of his work.
