The Eevee stopped outside the church, looking up at the building. As Mika caught up to him, he scooped up the little pokemon in his arms. "What got into you?" He asked it quietly, though he couldn't even pretend to understand the little squeak it responded with. He sighed and patted its head under his palm, looking back down the way they'd come to see if Valkoinen had followed. Since he didn't see her, he figured he might as well wait. The path only lead here, it wasn't like she could get lost.
He started to lean against the building, but Eevee fidgeted in his arms, his gaze fixed on the church doors. It wasn't like the little fellow could open the doors on his own, but he couldn't help but worry where the pokemon would run to next if he put him down. The Eevee continued to twist, eventually winding up planting a back paw on Mika's nose. He gave a small sigh and bent down to let it free. "Stay close, okay? We don't want to bother anyone."
The Eevee gave another squeak in response as the pale figure of Leuka came out of the woods. "So what's the idea? What was so great you two had to run off and leave me?" She asked, though she didn't sound upset. Just bored.
"I guess he was excited." Mika replied with a small shrug. "Maybe there was a pokemon out here? Can you blame him for wanting to make friends? You should take notes."
"I have friends..." Valkoinen mumbled under her breath.

"Krow! Murkrow!" The flying type pokemon took off all of a sudden, flying over towards Mika and Val. It circled in the air and repeated what it said several times before flying off again.
"Now that I understood you bloody bird!" Key shouted after it, oblivious to how close Mika and Val actually were. The murkrow flew over again and repeated it, closer as if almost teasing him. He let out a huff and reached out to grab it when it flew away again. Key took chase, running right into the path were Mika and Val were. He paused, looking at them with narrowed eyes as the Murkrow settled back on his shoulder, seemingly satisfied.
Key smacked him with his head and it let out a protesting "Krow!" and settled on his head. Darrius glared up at him, but the bird seemed settled in the nest of white hair.

(Ah that's fine!)
May slowly opened his eyes, coming back to consciousness, though he was still woozy and couldn't concentrate on anything. When he looked around however, he thought he could recognise the feathers, but didn't know where from. When his focus returned, he knew why he recognised her. "Chill?" He asked, wondering why she'd help him, when she knew who he was. He wouldn't help himself, especially when he had this much LOV.

The two trainers turned their head as the other trainer came into view. Spotting the Murkrow on his head, Mika offered a smile. To him, it was a cute sight. Eevee sprinted from next to his trainer over to the other curiously, stepping up on the trainer's toes and squeaking loudly. Mika looked a little sheepish and dipped his head in apology, starting to walk over to collect the little brown pokemon. He would have spoken an apology, but the scowl on the trainer's face made him a little hesitant.
Valkoinen looked a little surprised to see someone else at the church. Then again, it really shouldn't come as that much of a shock to her. If people had been coming through here often enough the wild pokemon had moved further from the trail, the there was a good chance the'd meet someone walking around. And they had. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice turning steely. Just because they were all trainers didn't mean she would suddenly be friendly. Really it was a miracle she got along with Mika at all.
"You could at least try to be nice when you ask someone's name." Mika replied with a slight frown.
"I didn't ask his name, I asked who he is." Valkoinen replied flatly. "But sure, his name might be a good follow-up question."

@ real - "You may be a Duster..." She mumbled, wincing as she paused, "But you don't deserve to lay in a pit for the rest of your life." It was a bit of a jab, yes, and she completely meant it, but at the same time she was terrified of what his reaction to it would be.
@ val - "Uhh..." Key seemed a little hesitant, eyes flicking between the two of them. "I don't know the answer to the first question." He said, slowly, carefully eyeing the two humans. "But uhh... my name is Darrius Key ... I guess...." He added the last part in a mumble. "Call me Key." The Murkrow let out an almost sad sounding cry and Key flicked at it with his hand. The flying type took to the sky and started chanting its name again. Key's face went slightly red, he pulled out the pokeball, fumbled with it, realised it was the wrong one and when he found the right one, the murkrow disappeared inside. Without another word, Key turned to leave. As far as he knew, both the trainers could understand pokemon and understood every word that the flying type had just said.

"Key?" Mika echoed, about to introduce himself when the stranger fumbled with the poke balls in his pocket and tried to leave. Eevee was still trying to stand on the other trainer's toes, constantly moving in front of him as he walked. Mika took the last few steps forward and picked the little fluff ball up. "Wait, what's wrong?" He asked, confused by his sudden retreat. He wouldn't blame him if Valkoinen had intimidated him or made him uneasy, though the two seemed to have a similar range of social skills, by that he mean very minimal. He felt a bit bad about that.
Valkoinen quickly lost interest in the stranger, walking toward the church to go look in through on of the broken windows. Now that they were here, she was a bit curious about the building. The door didn't look like it was locked, and if it was, it wouldn't be too hard to force it open. Even if she didn't want to find pokemon, there could be something interesting in there.

May smiled, letting his head fall back on the ground. He laughed slightly as well. "Every duster deserves a pit to die in. I don't believe you, really. Any other monster would be fine to see me dead I'm sure." He said.

@ val - If Darrius was a cat, he would have arched his back and hissed at the eevee. He already had the Murkrow that he had caught accidently. He curled his lip up at just the eevee, having no real idea why it was so attracted to him. His eyes flicked up to Mika and burned brighter with curiousity. "What's it matter what's wrong?" He asked cautiously, crossing his arms across his chest as he studied the human and the eevee.
"Everyone else around here left after I turned up? What's makes you so different?" He snapped, shoulders hunching as he tried to look somewhat menacing. It seemed as though even if his memories were gone he still had at least some of his old mannerisms, humans or not. "And," he looked pointedly at the eevee. "You keep your pokemon in ball-things, don't you? That's kind of sickening -" He cut himself off as the Murkrow burst from its pokeball and continued the chant from ealier. Darrius went even darker in the face and curled his arms tighter around his body.
The Murkrow was going on about how he was lonely and afraid of his dreams.
@ Real - "Your LOVE, however high it is, does not warrant you a death sentence." Chill spoke slowly, trying to speak without a lisp, she failed, but it did sound better than before. "You do not have EXP, you yourself have never harmed a monster, and however responsible you may be for watching and not helping, you do not have dust on your hands." She sighed. "Most monsters would leave you to die because you didn't try to help our kind, but still, you had no hand in lifting a weapon. You offered me MERCY when you could have so easily dusted me." She trembled a bit at the thought. "Maybe if one person makes a difference, then there could be a change."

Mika, completely oblivious to the Murkrow, took a quick step back when the stranger started to snap at him. Where did he even begin with this one?
Before he could open his mouth, Key's outburst grabbed Valkoinen's attention. She forsook the old church and she stepped over between the two. Normally she kept her distance from other people, but she had no intention of letting the stranger shout at her traveling companion. She narrowed her eyes, squaring her shoulders and glaring up at him. Her short stature made no difference to her, if she wanted to intimidate someone, she would no matter the height difference between them. The only reason she didn't make an attempt to grab the stranger by the neck of his shirt was that he seemed to be making a point to stay withdrawn. That, and Eevee seemed to think he was pretty okay, seeing as how it stayed right next to him, sniffing at his shoes and pant legs.
"You got some kind of problem, Key?" She retorted. "We didn't come here for any trouble, but if you're looking for a fight, you've got one."
Mika frowned, giving the pale woman a pat on the shoulder. This was followed by that ice-glare being turned back toward him.
"Don't touch me! And move back!" She snapped.
"You don' have any Pokemon to fight with."Mika replied, quickly removing his hand and showing his palms.
"I said nothing about a Pokemon fight! I'll take him down myself!"
"Absolutely not!"

"Let go of me." Key said, his voice deadly and cold, and even he was shocked at how dark his voice sounded, as much as he didn't want it to show on his face. His eyes turned red, both literally and figuratively and a sudden darkpulse spread across the area. Key's eyes grew wide as they turned back to blue and he shoved her away, stumbling back a couple of steps, staring at Val with a terrified look on his face. The Murkrow landed near his foot and started shouting at the trainers with his wings spread out as if he was protecting his accidental trainer. Darrius was shaking, his whole form trembled at what just happened. A sudden flash at his mind had him clawing at his head as tears ran down his cheeks.
Memories that he couldn't hope to comprehend flashed across his vision so quickly that he had no time to register before he was locked one again in his amestiac human form curled into the fetal position on the ground with a tiny murkrow protecting him.

Valkoinen's stance had changed when he snapped back, though the pulse had been enough to push her back into Mika. The back of her head hit him square in the nose and he was sent reeling back with his hands clasped over the lower half of his face. Though he thought he smelt copper, he knew it wasn't bleeding. It probably wouldn't even bruise, but it had hurt. Valkoinen would have made a comment about how she'd warned him to step back, but both trainers' attention was brought forward when he stumbled and fell.
Mika took a few steps forward, careful not to step on the stubborn Murkrow as he tried to reach the trainer. This was more than just a little unusual, and he was very certain that this was bigger than Valkoinen's little display.
Valkoinen, on the other hand, took a small step back at the sight. She didn't understand what had just happened. The voice, the push, and now he was on the ground? Crying? How had she gone too far? She remained standing still, watching the two with her eyebrows knitted in a mix of confusion, concern, and guilt. What was this?
The Eevee had jumped badly at the shouting, though with the strange trainer left on his side, the little normal-type sat down next to his head, looking to his own trainer with confused brown eyes. Mika cautiously reached down, placing a hand on Keys' shoulders. He kept his voice low and he spoke slowly to avoid frightening him more. "Please calm down, it's alright." He promised.

Darrius flinched violently when Mika touched him, having completely forgotten the trainers were there in his panic. He sniffled and sat up, curling his arms around his chest. He refused to look at Mika as he drew his knees into his chest. Tears still ran down his pale cheeks. "'snot alright." He mumbled. Buring his head into his knees. "don't even know who I am." He added quieter, and the Murkrow actually jumped a little closer and buried its way between Key's knees and chest. It cooed out its name in a long breath and then rested its head on the strange trainer's knees.
After about half a minute, Key uncurled himself and, while still holding the Murkrow, who seemed to be ... purring? ... Darrius stood up, stepped a little away from Mika before speaking.
"I'm sorry." He said softly. "I woke up a week ago with no memories at all." He smiled just a bit as the Murkrow hopped up onto his shoulder. "All I remember is that I am not human ... I was Darkrai."

May sat up and frowned. "Change. Sadly the human race is horrible at change." He shook his head and looked at her, looking away a few seconds later. "Thank you. No one I know or met have actially been as nice as you." He said, honestly surprised she would think he could make a change. If his father found out, he'd probably lock him up of make him dust every monster he catches.

"Then maybe they just need a reason to?" Chill asked with a quiet sigh, looking up at the sky. She stared for a moment, before lifting one paw. A small cloud appeared and it started to snow.

(its 6:30am i need to go to bed. See you in the afternoon)
Mika let go when Key flinched away, though he stayed next to him. When the trainer stood up and stepped away, Mika stood as well, though he didn't try to close the gap again. He didn't want to make the stranger more afraid. He'd been about to speak again when the trainer suddenly claimed to be not just a pokemon, but Darkrai. He was left frozen in place, his jaw still partially opened to speak, but his mind was completely blank. What, now? He had no idea how to address this.
Valkoinen seemed to recover from her moment of shock first. She'd clearly already set him off, but she still felt defensive. Something was wrong, aside from the ridiculous claims. The guy had to be crazy. That was the only explanation for the sudden outburst of crying, him falling down and clawing at himself. Oh dear, this was a mess. She took a step forward, though toward Mika rather than Key. "Alllllright, I think it's time we head back to town." She said, poking the other trainer in the cheek to make him close his jaw. "We came out to see the church and we saw it, time to go back."
Mika frowned at that. He was still confused by the whole Darkrai thing, but she just wanted to leave now? "I don't think it's wise to leave him here." He replied quietly.
Valkoinen hooked her arm around the other trainer's shoulder, pulling him back a few steps before dropping her voice. "We are not taking him with us. He's clearly mad."
"I'm sure if he was a danger, we'd know by now." Mika replied, his voice lowered to match hers. His gaze went to the Eevee still at Key's feet. Again, he was still following his movements, looking up with large brown eyes and squeaking every few seconds.
"Danger or not, I don't think he'd let you lead him anywhere if you tried. Collect your partner. We're leaving. The two of us." Valkoinen replied.
She released him and Mika gave a small sigh, rubbing his shoulders where she'd pulled him. "Eevee, come here." He called gently. The pokemon turned its head toward him, sensing the change in his voice. He was unhappy at the idea of just leaving the stranger out in the woods, but Valkoinen had made it clear. She didn't trust him. With one last look up at the trainer, Eevee bounded back over to Mika. He picked it up, scratching under it's chin as Valkoinen turned her back and headed back to the trail.

@ val - Key watched them go, his shoulders slumping. "That didn't work." He mumbled. He reached up and started to pat the Murkrow. "Thank you." He mumbled to the pokemon. "You're actually really nice, for a flying type." He watched them go for a bit, sighed and stepped after them. "Hey!" He called out, running to catch up. "Hey! I'm sorry, the joke kind of got out of hand, I had a bit of a uh... panic-attack I think it was." The urge to lie, and the lies that spilt didn't really mean much to him at all, he didn't understand half of what he was saying, but it just felt right." He rubbed the back of his head, despite Murkrow letting out a protesting cry at his lies. "I like to say things like that to scare people off and I'm sorry I freaked out so much. I don't really have anyone to travel with so do you mind if I stay with you for a bit?"
@ real - After a few moments, Chill stood. "I need to go. I have to be home by dark or Asgore will likely send a search party out for me. He likes us to be safe, y'know?" She murmured, looking up as the cloud disappeared.

The two stopped and looked back. Mika remained where he was so Key could catch up to him, Eevee still in his arms. He gave a concerned look when Key said he'd had a panic attack and he gave an understanding nod. "You're sure you're alright? If you want to wait here for a little bit, that's fine." He replied.
Valkoinen frowned at Keys' request to travel with them. She still didn't trust him, but Mika had a point. It wasn't right to leave someone with such anxiety issues on their own. She still didn't like the idea of traveling with him, though. Mika seemed intent on helping him, but she shook her head at his words. "We're not staying here any longer." She said shortly. Mika looked at her like he was about to argue when she pointed a finger at the sky. "It's going to rain soon. You really should try watching the weather before you plan these walks, Mika. I don't want to be out here when it starts, and I don't think the church will keep us dry."
Mika turned quiet as he realized she was right. The clouds had started to look grey and heavy, and he really didn't want Eevee to get rained on. Neither of his traveling companions really enjoyed the water all that much. "Ah..." All the more reason to make sure Key wasn't out here by himself. He turned his attention back to Key. "Come with us, the Pokemon Center has rooms for travelers. We can stay there until the rain passes and we can get dinner there."

(For some reason it's so much easier to write more when your character is on their own.)
May nodded. "Yep, see ya another time maybe." He said as he stood up also. He turned around and started walking toward where he thought the exit was. "It was nice meeting you!" He called back to her. Eventually he found the way out with the help of his compass, and padded toward the camp. "May!" He frowned when he heard his father's voice, and turned around to see him stomping toward him, a questioning and somewhat angry look on his face. "Yes?" He responded, trying to sound tough, which worked because he really was annoyed right now. "Where have you been?" "I just went for a walk." "All day?" "Just leave me alone okay." He said and padded to his cabin. He wasn't really that hungry, so he just made himself some toast and headed to bed. As he went to sleep, he couldn't help but think of Chill. It was a shame He'd probably never see her again. But even if it wasn't long, he was happy he'd found someone he would actually consider as a friend. Though he didn't think she would think of him as a friend, just merciful.

Do you have a specific plot for Lissa?

Post by CrackedSkel on Aug 7, 2016 18:02:08 GMT -5
@ sparky - What did you want to do with Aoife?
@ Val - Key nearly asked what a Pokemon Centre was, but stopped himself at the last minute. He was a human trainer, he was supposed to know these things. The promise of food however, spurred him into nodding. "That sounds nice." He spoke mildly, casting a glance towards the eevee. He wondered if the pokemon knew that he was lying. (sorry for poor quality)
@ Real - (I don't think so, personally. What should we do next you think? Perhaps May's father catches Chill? idk?)
@ Aviva - It's not set in stone, but I do have somewhat of a plot. Lissa has just moved to England and she is about to attend Hogwarts for the first time. She's incredibly homesick and just doesn't fit in with how Hogwarts works.
Pre, post or during the events of the books doesn't matter to me.

@ real - that's all good. Here you go.
It had been stupid. She knew that one day, one time in this stupid forest that she would get herself caught. All because of her stupid inability to ask for someone to be partners with her. She writhed in the grip of the human duster as he dragged her towards the cliffside that May had fallen into the day before. The human continued to drag her until they reached a small cabin. The Duster pulled a gun and a FIGHT was started.

(There's nothing to apologize for~)
The two began walking again, Mika moving a bit slower than Valkoinen so Key could match his pace. He heard Valkoinen sigh again and he spoke. "Sorry we didn't find anything out here for you."
She shook her head. "No, its fine. I didn't really come out here prepared to catch anything anyways." She responded, though she didn't slow down.
As they came back into town, the first few drops of rain began to fall until there was a full downpour. Valkoinen went into a full sprint, running far ahead of them back to the Center. She greatly disliked the water and everything that came with it, the cold dampness, the heavy weight added to her long hair and clothing, the puddles it tracked when she went inside. Mika would have stuck around - he was from a town on the seaside and he loved the water - but Eevee began to squeak in complaint as his fur grew soaked and heavy. He pulled his jacket over the little pokemon, looking to be sure Key was with him before he started running after Leuka.

As they came to the Pokemon Center, the automatic doors opened up. Valkoinen ducked inside, moving off to the left of the door to keep the water dripping off her from spreading across the main floor. She opened her bag to make sure her things weren't too soaked. Fortunately only the exterior of the bag had gotten wet. As Mika entered, he moved over next to her, trying to wipe water out of Eevee's face, but his hands were already wet so it didn't help any. The Eevee continued to squeak and complain.
One of the nurses stepped out from behind the counter with a stack of towels, passing them out to each of them. Valkoinen started trying to get the water out of her hair and Mika set the Eevee on the floor, toweling the little fellow down until his fur was completely dry. He then wiped his face before wrapping the Eevee in the towel and picking it up again. Valkoinen was still trying to dry off, so he went to the front counter, paying a few dollars for a room and food. The nurse gave him a key and instructions for which room was theirs, adding that the food would be out in a bit.
Valkoinen heard Mika walk off as the doors opened again and saw Key enter. She hadn't realized he'd been behind them. She pointed toward the counter with one hand, mumbling from under the towel. "Go get something to dry yourself."

Key's grin slowly faded at Val's shortness and he turned around heading over and picking up a towel. He searched his memories, came up blank, and scowled slightly, hoping that whatever human instincts that came with this body would help him figure out how to use this thing. His mind drifted and he just let muscle memory do the work. Soon both he and Murkrow were dryer than before and he seemed content to just stare out the window at the rain.
