When a car pulled up Finley squinted but their phone buzzed seconds later so they jumped to their feet. Even though the party had been a bit draining the thought of hanging out with Cody brought energy back into their bones. Their dress waved a bit in the slight breeze as they jogged over to the car -- excited to be somewhere else. Now with the athletic prosthetic their limp was less noticeable, they liked the feeling of being more mobile. When they reached the passenger side they got in, cheeks a bit red from the chill, a grin crossing their lips. Even though it was dark out the few street lamps and houselights around let them see Cody's face and their grin somehow grew bigger.
"You made it."

"Yeah, I'm surprised too," Cody said with a chuckle. He couldn't help but smile as Finley got into the car, he was glad to already have met someone that could very well end up being his bestfriend... or maybe more, but he wasn't going to worry about that. Not since he still wasn't certain they weren't going to be swept up in the storm of populars.
"I'm pretty sure I went in a circle, but I made it. You look great by the way," he said, adding the last part as offhandedly as he could.

Finley smoothed out their dress and buckled up, looking back over to Cody. They began to chuckle softly as he said he'd gone in a circle but seemed to nearly short circuit at the compliment, a rosy blush falling over their cheeks and a grin on their face.
"O-Oh, thanks," Finley sputtered a bit, hands moving to brush strands of hair away from their forehead.
