Klein Leonhardt ~ Male ~ 21 Klein is the male equivalent of the girl next door type. Nice and quiet and kind of easily unnoticed, but he's okay with that. He's a friendly enough boy, the kind of person who has a good number of friends, close or otherwise, but is hardly the most popular or attractive person around. Bookish and studious as well, he possesses a great level of ambition towards a future career as a neurosurgeon and thus takes college very, very seriously. You're not likely to see this boy attending frat parties when there are papers to be done. But you might persuade him once all the work is done. Maybe. Despite his appearance as a "good boy" and a thoughtful person, Klein has an unfortunate tendency towards pessimism, though this is mostly kept to himself and his thoughts. He can be surprisingly judgmental as well, and first impressions tend to stick. He's not the most patient when dealing towards other people as well, becoming easily annoyed though, again, most of the negativity is kept inside and behind a well-kept poker face. Klein is around average height for a boy his age, around 5'9"~5'10", with a lanky but lean body structure. His skin is fair and mostly free of blemishes, though a few freckles are noticeably sprinkled across his nose. His hair appears fluffy and tousled and is colored a lighter shade of blond; he's tried many times to tame it better but nothing short of hair gel (which he doesn't like) works. His eyes are brown and generally appear welcoming to match the usual polite smile on his face. His attire is typically casual for a college student, though lean towards jeans and hoodies more than anything.
oh yeah what kind of age range and setting were you thinking of? :0c

college then maybe haha? should they have similar majors so they take a lot of the same classes, or different ones but just happen to run into each other a lot?

kaykay! And I was thinking maybe chemistry or biology to open the gate for medical school and a surgeon career. or on the completely other side, something having to do with fashion design bc i like playing fashionable dudes lolol and it would be amusing since it's a female dominated major. which do you think? x"D

Mackenzie let out an exasperated sigh at Ryker’s words. She knew she would never get through to him, which begs the question: why did she bother pushing him? It was true he did his work, but for him told it off until the last minute seemed very irresponsible. Not only that, but if he wanted to have fun over the weekend, it made much more sense to get his homework finished Friday night. She would hate to have that weight over her head the entire weekend. It almost felt like homework guilt tripped her in a sense. Plus her mother would be furious with her. She was always hard on Mackenzie about everything. Which to her made sense, she wanted her only child to be successful in whatever Mackenzie decided to do with her life. “I'm afraid I don't have enough hair to ‘let loose’.” she raised an eyebrow at Ryker, smile gracing her lips. Her hair was indeed short, cut at her chin. It was much to short too do anything with besides curl, or straighten.
Mackenzie tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear with a sort of annoyed face. She hated when her hair didn't stay in place. “I know, I know...you don't want me to lecture you.” she paused for a moment before continuing, “I highly doubt you're even listening right now,” she chuckled, “but I want to know what would push you to just...do your homework.” Mackenzie knew he understood the material, he just didn't want to do it. And for one reason or another, it bugged her even if it was none of her business. She always found herself to be helpful to Ryker, whether he felt the same or not, she didn't really know. Mackenzie hated to feel unwanted or annoying, and she assumed Ryker would have told her if she was, so - also assumingly - she wasn't annoying. Of course, that was all under assumption.
Mackenzie adjusted the shoulder strap of her backpack as they progressed through the parking lot to Ryker’s car. She had her own, but she would rather talk with Ryker for now until they had to part ways. “What do you have planned for the weekend anyway?” she tilted her head slightly to the left as she asked. Her mother commented that it made her look like their dog sometimes, but not necessarily in a bad way. At least, Mackenzie hoped it wasn't meant to be an insult. Ryker snorted. "Grow your hair out then, Mack," he chuckled. "Life's isn't there, inside your books and your notes. It's out here." He swept his arm out in a dramatic manner, giving Mackenzie a wry smirk. The crowd narrowed and began to disperse as teens went to their individual cars or to the bus lot. Not for the first time, Ryker was thankful that he had his own car, so that he wasn't suffering on the public bus. His rather sleek looking little sedan sat just in front of them. "The only way to get my to do homework, luv, is to trick me into losing a bet." He winked, fishing his car keys out of his pocket. He pressed the 'unlock' button, and his car chirped in response. "Dunno," came his response to her question about his weekend plans. "Couple people are going to The Fullmoon," he mused aloud. "Maybe I'll tag along." He knew what Mackenzie would say - that it was a bad idea, that he should be at home and focusing on his studies, and some part of Ryker agreed with her. The other part of Ryker insisted that he live life to the fullest, to make up for the life his little brother had lost, all those years ago. He needed to ensure he experienced everything he could, to live the life his brother should've been living. Ryker should've been the one to die, not his brother; his brother was... good. Jericho had had a pure soul, and wanted to devote his life to helping people. He'd talked about being a doctor, a teacher - about getting into a profession that was all about helping the world. Jer had had a future, and he should've been around to live it. No, Jer should've been the one to survive, but for some reason, fate had been cruel and spared Ryker. In comparison to his brother, Ryker had a dark, troubled soul; he struggled with depression and anxiety, and struggled to figure out where his life was going. He was a hopeless soul, and he'd known it, though Jer would've insisted otherwise. He glanced at Mackenzie out of the corner of his eye. Jericho and Mackenzie would've gotten along great.
"Jericho would've loved you," he mused, and then fell silent. It was rare that Ryker ever brought up his brother, and a dark mood often followed him around when he did. It was as if Jericho's soul was haunting him, and to be honest, Ryker wouldn't have blamed him. He deserved as much, for failing to save him.

I suppose so, yeah. Sorry, it's just that I haven't really had much desire to do anything at all lately I think I may be depressed, but I can't tell my parents about it bc they'd laugh me out of the room. Plus I don't get to see my psychologist for another month so that sucks too :/ Wanting to do something but being unable to bring yourself to do it just sucks in general tbh))

Mackenzie would have loved to say that life wasn't about doing stupid things either, but Ryker wouldn't listen to her, she knew that much. While Mackenzie did try to do her absolute best in school, it wasn't just for her, she was trying to make her father proud. Even if he was gone from Earth, it didn't mean he left her thoughts. He was always in the back of her mind. Not that she ever hinted at it, especially to Ryker. He already thought she was a stick in the mud, she wasn't planning on adding onto that by being a sorrowful stick in the mud. But she had no time to think about the past, as Ryker mentioning a bar snapped her out of them. He wasn't of legal drinking age, he knew that, Mackenzie knew that, the whole school knew that, but apparently it didn't matter. Ryker may have been struggling with those inner demons of his, but drinking would solve nothing. If anything, it would make him feel worse. Or too drunk to feel anything at all.
Mackenzie opened her mouth to say something but Ryker unintentionally cut her off when he spoke about his brother. Mackenzie wasn't there when it happened, she had only moved to this school about a year a half ago, but the day Ryker told her about him, was the first time she really saw that beneath his adrenaline junkie label, he was broken. Ryker truly became human to her then, instead of some high school legend. She looked at Ryker’s profile, since he was turned slightly as he was focused on his car, and gave him a warm, sympathetic gaze from behind her glasses. Mackenzie put her hand on his arm in a comforting gesture and waited a few moments before saying anything. “I know, you miss him. But can you just do me a favor and be careful? You're my best friend, and I hate to see you hurt. And not just physically. Try and...not do anything stupid.” that includes drinking. She added on in her head. While Mackenzie can't tell Ryker what to do, or make him do what she thought was best, maybe she can get to him through psychological means or through morals. Hopefully he wouldn't think that she was using Jericho as a way to get to him, that was far from the truth.
