I have as the school years has gone more into it. Schoolwork sucks, boring. I'm in four honors classes so homework gets stressful as well and I often forgot about one class to focus on another.
Don't worry, I absolutely, completely understand. Recently I've been feeling that way as well and have been trying to build it back up.

"I doubt either of us would have made it this far alone. Though I'll admit, I feel like you have the better chance of surviving this alone than I would. Aside from the fact I likely wouldn't have come down here if you hadn't convinced me to take a break from my princely duties today," Matthias responded. He closed his eyes taking in a deep breath and just allowing himself to absorb this beautiful place before they continued.
He opened his blue eyes with determination. "You are right though. Better to find a way out, and so far 'up' seems like the best answer to go with. This place is too alluring I think, it makes it difficult to leave- or is that just me? One way or another, it's dangerous- it has the same feel as that monster did- like it is trying to make sure you can't move. Enchants you to stay still and watch as death approaches- though, nothing seems that harmful here...." Matthias softly finished the sentence off while making a movement towards the stairs, trying not to fall under the spell-like aura of this room, or was it simply the building in all? If you could call it a building.

"You wanted to meet my sister, right?" Nicholas commented with a playful tone. He made sure to slow down, having gotten more of a control on his facial expressions. He believed any traces of blush on himself was gone luckily, so he turned his face to her with a smile. "The sooner you do, the sooner you'll hopefully be approved, and I can show you around with more luck. Ah, would you want to keep your feathery secret a secret as well? Or would you be fine with her no- no judgement from me either way. Just figured it's best to know before we go there as well," he asked before giving a slightly drawn out explanation why he asked. It likely wasn't needed, but he felt like he had to fill the gap with some words.
He probably shouldn't have stopped, well, slowed down to talk with her and look at her. But he should keep himself focused on the task at hand. Not get distracted, not now at least. He figured to get Oakley's opinion on this, as most likely his sister would find out. Of course, Jacky would not be in favour of avians, creatures she was brought up to believe with a thirst for blood and war. Of course Nicholas could attempt to change his sister's mind. or hide it from her until it's found out, but at that point she'll be more focused on anger towards her brother rather than the fact Oakley was not a human.
