OoC :: Okay! So like, really far below is the beginning of this and it's really ehhhh. So I'm reintroducing this! To hopefully get more people interested if they want to. Currently a world still in building and stuff, so some things might be added in later.
So, there are three main species. Humans, avians (people with wings), and merfolk (people with tails). The humans have only heard about the avians and merfolk, but their tales of them are as monstrous creatures that plan on killing humans at any chance- which so is not true. The merfolk and avians don't know about one another, but the merfolk have seen humans and assumed they are some weird beings with vessels that roam the seas and crash at shores. The avians know about humans due to them being able to see the villages and kingdoms there. And every race has people who can use magic, whether it be in large amounts or small- however those who can are very few, hard to find. However, there are more than these three species here. Normal, simple animals that you can see on a day to day basis on our Earth, but there are more. More dangerous, beastly beings. Monsters of the sea, of the sky, and of the land. Dragon-like beings that can go to all three places, very dangerous and not friendly. More about them down below.
Avians :: The avians are matriarchal, with one queen to protect her citizens. Well, more like warriors as that is what she likes them to be trained up to. Fierce warriors of the sky, men and women alike. Some manage to keep out of it due to other roles in the society needed. Not much drama going on with their kingdom though. They look like humans, but they have large feathery wings like birds. avians in roleplay : Queen Alexi :: creamcrow Carita :: creamcrow Oakley :: pumpkinqueen13 Skyler : starberry Rope : hollyshard Asa : smore
Merfolk :: The merfolk have one king that rules the ocean. It is a very patriarchal society, though females can have a say in things. The king has a wife and one son, only one : Matthias. Merfolk forbidden to go near the surface of the water, much less go anywhere near dry land. It is unknown that it is because they can gain legs when moving out of the ocean to dry land, however patches of scales stay along their body to differentiate them from humans and avians. merfolk in roleplay : King Kasimir : creamcrow Queen Leilani : creamcrow Matthias : creamcrow Mikel : pumpkinqueen13 Daniel : starberry Amabelle : mudkip4evr
Humans :: Many kingdoms, many rulers that don't correlate with one another. Currently, there is a rebellion within one kingdom where the king is a sucky ruler who doesn't care about his people. It's being led by Jacqueline O'Conner with help from her two sisters and brother, and many others. So be welcomed to join in as the rebellion's side or as the king's side here. humans in roleplay : Nicholas O'Conner : creamcrow Reina O'Conner : creamcrow Jacqueline O'Conner : creamcrow Beth O'Conner : creamcrow Fabian Riles : creamcrow
Beasts :: The dragon-like monsters that roam all three 'lands.' They are danger to all three species as they can travel through sky, water, and across land- though some reserve themselves to certain places. They haven't been seen in a long while, however they may finally be reawakening- who knows how many there are? Or how they behave as they are seen as legends still. They are known to feast on merfolk, avians, and humans as all three peoples know. beasts seen in roleplay : serpent, underwater beast? underground, grassland beast?
IC :: words
former stuff if you're curious
OoC :: Who wants to do a roleplay with either winged peoples or mermaids? Cause I want to do one or the either. A jump-in rp maybe? Just really need to decide between wings and fins.... yeah. Or- Or! Both? yeah. Both.
Ahem- so, how about a jump-in rp where there are bird people and fish people? And only recently they have discovered one another's existence in the world thanks to human interference? Yeah. Yeah? I like it. In which, each side has a leader(s) and are trying to make alliances with one another without messing things up with one another?
Yay, nay?
Okay, so adding on a bit more. Currently, the races don't really know one another exists, well probably everyone knows about humans. And yeah. The merfolk are I'll say more patriarchal than matriarchal, the the king and prince(s?) hold more power than the Queen and princess(es?). The bird people are matriarchal? So, they have a female queen person that rules them, and yeah. Girls more powerful there. The humans I'll say are both? Either males or females can hold the most power, just depends on ranking.... and maybe there is multiple human groups thus multiple leaders as well? Yeah...

IC :: The tall female strode through the clouds, if you could call the lightest taps of moving her wings striding. She was flying. Carita always had the most fun watching the waves crash against one another in the vast, empty ocean. The ginger girl looked to the high flying skies once again just to make sure none followed her to this location, a place she liked to sit in silence alone, with only the waves making noise next to her brightly colored wings.
--
Matthias glared around him in the deep blue waters, this was rather boring in all. Prince of a kingdom and he could find no fun. The underwater kingdom filled with vibrant merfolk, and still they managed to get dull. He looked at the tail swishing back and forth through the waves of the ocean, a colour that matched his eyes. That color happening to be of the color surrounding him, an ocean blue.
--
Nicholas, in the meantime, was having a joy sitting under a tree. True, he was bored and had nothing to do, but that was exactly why the raven-haired male was sitting there. Waiting. Waiting for something exciting to happen. He in-took the air around him, the tree sure smelled sweet. His sister would likely be expecting him in a few hours, but a few hours was far from now.

(hey there! here's my starters. i hope my characters are okay?)
The breeze blowing against his exposed skin sent shivers down Mikel's spine, it pushing back his golden hair and moving the waves around him. Having his arms propped up against the rock he was leaning on, Mikel couldn't complain that he loved feeling the wind. He loved air, just like he loved the ocean. It was so...free. He sighed, dreaming of a moment when he could actually be both above and below the ocean's surface. It was a wild fantasy, and it was also very cliche, but still. He dreamed it. He also knew it would never come true and never pursued anything to do with that dream. Not like there was anything to do down here where he was. Honestly, he loved the ocean. He loved the fish, sealife, bubbles, and exploring the depths of what he didn't know. He loved the adventure. But sometimes...especially at night, he liked to look up to the sky and enjoy the breeze, the smell of the seasalt on his skin, and the way the stars sparkled down upon the surface of his home. He wondered...was there someone up there? In the sky, or on the surface of the land? He'd heard myths...or rumors. But were they true?
Oakley was sat upon a tree branch, wings pressed against her back as she watched the forest below her. She sighed softly, thinking about, well, nothing really. This was peaceful, this was calm. She was happy, for the most part. She was bored, but happy. She sometimes wished something would happen. Just flying around and enjoying some of the company of her people, then looking down at the humans below were very...boring. It was amusing, but...not satisfying. At least, not for her. She wasn't one to be adventurous and go off and find something to do. That was probably why she remained here, in the tree, lost in her nonexistent thoughts, bored out of her mind. She moved her feet up to the branch she was sitting on, some birds nearby making a little fuse, when she accidentally kicked some of the smaller branches and leaves nearby her. She gasped, not expecting them so close, and the small branch and collection of leaves went tumbling down the tree below. She frowned, looking down at the ground below her. She couldn't see much, since she was so high up, but she hoped nothing was down there. "Uh, sorry, I guess..." She said softly, sitting back down and resting her back against the bark of the tree, stretching her wings out a bit.

OoC :: Seems good to me!
IC :: Matthias moved to the surface of the ways, he in no way favored the air above nor the land that neighbored the sea. But the light blonde watched around. He was on the search for the few of the merfolk that favoured the surface. Matthias did not understand why his mother and father had him, the prince, deal with this tedious task. It was of no use to him.
He was loyal to the deep blue ocean, he would not betray the vast place for the land nor sky. What would one do with either? Matthias found it to be empty, full of nothing but land plants and simple-minded animals. Quickly, the blue-eyed male looked around the area to find one of those- what he liked to call- land-lovers. Since, after all, it was more likely for them to drag themselves across dirt than to fly like the seabirds that did.
It was irritating how the salty sea moved in his way many times, not allowing him a clear view around him.
--
Nicholas gave a sharp yelp as soon as he heard the first of the branches snap in fear, away from the tree in fear and curiosity. Something just- What? The raven-haired male stared at the stranger who had fallen from a tree. A tree- who fell out of trees these days? Carefully he observed the female in a newfound curiosity.
The thing that stood out the most to him were the wings though. She looked female, she looked human- he must have been seeing things. A human had no wings.... though the creatures in tales his sister was so enthusiastic about had them. Creatures that looked human but had the mindsets of birds, with feathers and talons prepared to tear out human's throats such as the foreign creatures of the sea... she didn't exactly look to be one of those monsters. The only thing familiar he could see were the wings.
"No need for apologies miss, however darling, does a girl as pretty as you come with a name?" Nicholas purred out as he observed her figuring it was worth a shot.

Mikel continued to watch the waves crash against the boulder he was leaning on, continued to let the breeze blow his gold hair back, and enjoyed the sea salt smell in the air. Though, after a moment, he decided enough was enough, and his dreams were never going to be fulfilled anyway, so he let go of the boulder and let his head drift back underneath the waves. He breathed in the water, the liquid moving through his body naturally. He closed his eyes, but flicked his tail to keep him afloat. He liked this peace. It was comforting. He eventually opened his eyes again and turned, though nearly pushed back, almost flipping over his own tail, when he saw another figure nearby. He straightened up, looking closer at the figure. Was that...the prince? Oh no. He gulped, but then just let out a small chuckle. He always liked to tease the prince. It was another form of "adventure" down here. It tended to get him in trouble, but he loved at least doing something productive.
Oakley moved away from the tree bark and stood, wings pressing closer into her back. She was afraid. Was this...another human? It appeared so. Why was a human all the way out here? She scoffed at his words, "Right. I'm...Oakley. And you are?" She asked, gesturing towards his chest. She wondered if this new guy was royalty. Did humans have royalty? Possibly. She never really focused on enough to actually consider the possibility.

IC :: Matthias had to dodge back in the water as he was getting annoyed with this little business. Though, as he went under once more, he simply had to do a slight turn only to find another merfolk. Aha, a male. Carefully, he started towards the familiar species before taking into account who it was. Mikel. He was already annoyed.
Matthias continued towards him at a quicker pace than before, a frown quickly settling on his face. "Mikel, I was not expecting you to be here, which brings the next question. Why are you so far out here in the first place?"
--
Nicolas grinned at her before responding, "Nicholas O'Conner, at your service my lady," He gave an over-exaggerated bow before standing straight to look her over. The wings- why did she have wings? He was rather bothered by that fact, the wings were the only hint she wasn't human and yet, he couldn't truly help but to still find her attractive. Attractive enough to flirt with that is, but the bar on beauty was set pretty low to him when it came to flirting with girls anyways.

Daniel gave a peaceful sigh as he felt the water slowly moving around him, taking a moment to just relax and take in all of the beauties of water. It felt so warm, like a blanket covered all around you. How could anyone hate water? It was so peaceful. Then again, humans could apparently drown in it. Humans. Even water could kill them, it made them seem so weak. ________
Skyler was currently perched in a tree, doodling away in a human notebook. She had discovered it years ago, and it was her "best friend". Which weirded some people out, but to her it seemed natural and normal. In her eyes, it was just like a person, look in it deep enough and you'll find all sorts of things, both beautiful and tragic, wacky and casual. She was just on the finishing touches when the book slipped out of her hands, dropping down onto the ground below.

Amabelle swam toward the surface, the rush of adrenaline dying out now that she was certain to be away from her pursuers. Technically, it was stealing, but it was just so beautiful. She couldn't not leave it there. After all, she hadn't known exactly that it was Royal land. She broke the surface and held the shell in the light, the land nearby hidden behind a small wave. The pink, beige and champagne colors gleamed in the sunlight and she couldn't help but smile. It really was a beautiful shell. She looked around for the first time, she noticed voices before spotting the reflection of tails beneath the breaking ocean. Her kelp-green eyes glimmered momentarily with fear before being replaced with confidence. There was no way either of them would have gotten word being so far near the shore and the whole ordeal would blow over soon enough. It was, after all, only a shell. She was, though, unaware of the identity of the two mermen.

(Bird people and mermaids? I'm in. This is AWESOME.)
The air rushed around her, streaming through the feathers on her wings. Her brown wings beat powerfully, propelling her through the air. She took a nosedive and pulled up just when she was about to hit the water, and skimmed the surface. Rope was a young bird person, and she was enjoying a fly when she saw a person in the water and pulled up and out of sight. She hovered for a moment, and stared at the person, wishing her great bird vision had gotten better. She could just make out a shell and a shimmery shape in the water. She could tell it was a girl. She decided to stay and see what the girl did, and if she was friendly.

IC :: Matthias flinched at more sounds, seemed there was more than just one he had to deal with- but for now, simply acting as though the person further behind him did not exist, he was fine. Oh- who was he kidding, it was annoying. No point to it, there was multiple land-lovers from what he had seen, all annoying specimens of merfolk.
--
Reina jumped at the sound of a book falling to the ground. She was surprised, but intrigued enough to pick it up and look at it. Which involved going through the pages, but Reina was a curious girl. Not the best idea for the oldest of four siblings, but Jacky seemed to be the main leader of them all. She wasn't going to question where it came from, but rather what was inside- she may have had her priorities not situated correctly.

Mikel shrugged, grinning widely, as he swam towards the other merman quickly. "Why not? Don't you ever want to see the surface, Matty?" He asked, teasingly using the nickname he'd given the prince. "Here, you can see so much of it! And the water is warmer here...it feels so good!" He laughed, revolving around Matthias in a circle with wide eyes. He twisted upward and poked Matthias' forehead. "You should have more fun, prince."
Oakley crossed her arms and looked away, trying to keep her wings out of focus, but she knew he'd already seen too much. Did the humans know about their existence? Surely they did...right? Or did she just...break a law or something? She sighed, rubbing her arm nervously. "Um, hello there, Nicholas. Did you see...um, ya know?" She shrugged, letting her wings slide out a bit, "These?" Now, looking at Nicholas, he wasn't that bad looking. So his constant googly eyes didn't completely bother her. Though she wasn't sure who he was, but it was just...he was human. And his flirting wasn't the best, at least, to her. He was probably one of those player like boys that did that to everyone. She huffed.

IC :: He held in a groan of annoyance, a stupid nickname in his opinion. "Perhaps I would if I had two legs and couldn't breathe underwater, but otherwise, not really. It's an annoyance to have an area where mermen like you, decide to spend the day doing nothing but watching the clouds." He had to move slightly to be able to keep focus on Mikel and when he was poked he let out a sigh. "In case you haven't noticed, I am a prince- there is no call for 'fun' there."
--
He took another gander at her wings- they fit her well enough. "Why of course, you pretty angel. Something I haven't quite seen among others I know of that is," Nicholas looked back to her blinking his eyes as though he was innocent as he continued. "But surely, that confirms you are something out of this world." And for all he knew a savage beast, but if he was to be killed, his sister would surely note that it was due to a pretty girl he flirted with getting fed up with and killing him. Actually, all of his sisters predicted that would be the cause of his unruly fate.

"Well, what else are we supposed to do around here?" Mikel asked, curiously, "And of course princes can have fun, too! That's your problem, you just...need to let loose a little." He chuckled and twisted the opposite way, twirling to behind Matthias. He placed his arms behind his head and floated along. "You should totally come with me exploring one day. I have been wanting to explore some of the abysses around here...do they honestly lead to nowhere? I can't actually believe that, now can I? There has to be more!"
Oakley laughed softly, though didn't let her smile reach her eyes, "Well, thanks. But seriously, don't tell anyone. I don't know if you humans are supposed to know about us. It's...dangerous. I think." She scratched at her head, a few leaves stuck in her hair, "Sorry for almost landing on you, again. I should be going now, though."

IC :: "Do your jobs, whether it be gathering food or defending others from the monsters that live down here with us- sharks and those things of similar interests." Matthias answered, he felt as though it was rather obvious in itself. He shook his lightly in disagreement, he was forced to do work and duties all day as prince- fun was not scheduled in it. "Unless those abysses contain highly valuable materials or dangerous that need to be killed, it is doubtful I would even be allowed to."
--
Nicholas was getting somewhere! Until she went and said she needed to go. He was tempted to deny and say humans knew all about the angels in the sky- but, all he had heard was that they were ugly, monstrous beasts. Not pretty human girls with wings. "But surely you could stay a while longer, where must you go that is so urgent for you to be at?" He reasoned.

"Okay, okay. So, I need to gather more food? And do my daily 'kicking killer fish butt'. I got it." Mikel sighed, bubbles escaping his mouth, "That just...after a while, that gets so old...Matthias. Don't you get bored?" He reached out and slapped Matthias' shoulder, "And don't worry about if you're allowed to! That's the point in 'fun' and 'adventure'. It's being free! Don't let your royal advisers tell you, that you can't have fun." He made a face, imitating an adviser of the royal castle/palace (im not sure which one you were going for lol).
Oakley looked over at Nicholas and shrugged, taking a moment of silence, before looking back down at the ground. "Nowhere, honestly. I just don't think it's a good idea to be talking to humans like this, is all. It could be dangerous, for both you and me." She let her wings casually stretch out, all dark brown and white spotted feathers visible, "I bet you humans think we're monsters, right?" She laughed, dryly. That as, if they even knew they existed.

Matthias said with a stone face deciding not to act upon what Matthias called his stupidity. "However, skipping out on something can lead to trouble I would rather not deal with. I am generally chained up in the palace doing work, and when I'm not it's to find useless fish like you who decide taking a gander at the sky is more important."
--
Nicholas raised an eyebrow, he could lie? To the last part, the only question. Though, he could act as though he had never heard of a bird person monster thing. "Unless you have plans to harm me, I can't seem to figure out how it could hurt me- and surely no being could harm such a beautiful girl as you, for you are too beautiful to be a monster," He purred out of his throat.

Amabelle decided she rather ignore the voices as she couldn't make outs the words anyways. The sea gave a small ripple and she could've sworn she'd seen something, but as she looked around, she saw no sign of the avian-human that alerted her. She let her nerves die down again and went back to admiring the shell, tracing her finger along the outlines. She turned her kelp-green eyes toward the shore and she wondered if there would be anything of value or beauty there. She liked to collect such things, though, she didn't mind trading them if she benifited well. She swam toward the ocean, her silver-blue tail reflecting the sun.

If she was going to be honest, she would have preferred if someone hadn't picked up her book. It would have been easier to get if it was just laying on the ground. Though she supposed this could be the chance to socialize with someone, which she rarely did. She had lived on her own for most of her life, so it was nice to have someone to talk to, even if it was just for retrieving a book. She frowned slightly as the girl flipped through the pages of the book though. She didn't like sharing her drawings that much. Erasing the frown off her face and putting on a friendly smile, she flew down to in front of the girl. "Um, excuse me? But that's my book, so could you please give it back?" Skyler asked politely
