Bloodrose"Sorry about her, but she meant well," Kai insisted "I promise, because it was me who called. I just... she didn't want to see what I'd be like if I had someone die in my house." He stared at Manse's hand, then up at his face. Kai hesitated a great deal before setting his cat down, and reaching to take the other man's hand, mentally sighing in content at the feeling. When Manse mentioned explaining things to him, Kai nodded a little, saying "Yeah... you do."

When Manse mentioned explaining things to him, Kai nodded a little, saying "Yeah... you do." Manse paused before he began to walk, suddenly noticing the cat. 'Oh. This is your cat.' He said, blinking down at her, and crouching, still holding Kai's hand, just raising his arm so Kai wouldn't have to crouch as well. 'It's a pleasure to meet you, Juliet.' He said, smiling and tickling her cheeks, before standing again and heading into his apartment, gently pulling Kai with him. He took a seat after momentarily examining his apartment, appreciating the decor, and turned to look at him, sighing softly. 'I'm not sure where to start.' He said, looking unsure and anxious, and afraid of slipping up.

BloodroseJuliet meowed with narrowed eyes, then trotted off to go to Kai's room. All of Kai's apartment made you feel cozy and calm. And it smelled of mint. When they sat, on a couch, Manse spoke. Kai was silent, yet said after "Maybe why you didn't tell me what you were earlier?" The author probably would've reacted better if he found out about Manse outside of being attacked by a brute werewolf. Looking down, Kai found himself studying their joined hands. Kai probably should've just booted Manse out, but didn't for two reasons. One, he still liked Manse. And two, Khaa threatened to turn them into frogs, and she was serious. Smiling slightly, Kai tightened his grip ever so slightly in the larger hand holding his, happy that he hadn't sent Manse away.

'Because within ten minutes of first meeting you, you were already spouting about how much you hated werewolves, and how my kind are monsters.' Manse replied, grinning sheepishly. 'And I'm not proud of what I am.' He lowered his gaze. 'The werewolf that chased us... he was my old alpha. I've been on the run for a year now... everywhere I've been, he's caught up to me. He was cruel and abusive, and would kill those of us that stepped out of line; I was brave and stupid enough to leave the pack and run. I'm sorry I needlessly put you in danger.' He found himself relaxing as Kai tightened his hand around his, and did the same, finding comfort in the action.

Bloodrose"Could've been when I gave a little speech about helping your kind," Kai said with a tiny smile. When Manse explained who had been chasing them, he listened with a raised brow. A small smile came to him when Manse returned the action of tightening his grip. Looking away, he said softly with a slight laugh "Your... former alpha... sounds like the werewolf in my stories almost." Upon being apologized to, Kai shook his head and decided "No need to apologize. I didn't know squat, and you didn't tell me squat. So how would I know about the danger?" "You really don't give off any negative vibes," Kai said as he looked at Manse again "And you did defend me just a while ago. I just... I'm not afraid of you, but I am afraid of the two werewolves I saw earlier. And I just don't see that changing anytime soon." Using his free hand, to scratch the wounded, covered side of his face, he added "But... It isn't like you'd wolf out on purpose, every time we'd see each other. I think... I can deal with hanging out with a werewolf. As long as you don't try and eat me. Then we'd have a little problem, huh?"

Manse nodded as Kai assured him and made the comment about his alpha, and then seemed relieved when he said he would keep seeing him. 'Thankyou.' He sighed softly, giving him a warm smile. He leaned in and gently kissed the wounded side of Kai's face, then gently pressed his lips to the bandage and pulled back again, his eyes very soft. 'Don't worry, Kai.' He then said, mischief now playing around his lips. 'I won't be eating you with my teeth.' He then let go of his hand and stood, curiously starting to examine the authors apartment, nose twitching.

Bloodrose He shivered when he felt Manse press his lips the bandaging, smiling at the soft look in his eyes. However, the smile didn't last too long. Poor thing was blushing something awful when at Manse's last comment. If he'd been drinking something, he would've done a spit take. Or was it only him having a dirty mind? He could only manage a soft "o-okay." Kainder watched Manse get up and examine his apartment. The author stood as well, saying "Nothing too special. And sorry for all the mess." Despite having that cozy look with all its autumn colors, the apartment had various stations and small messes composed of candy ingredients, tea leaves and herbs. Realizing that he had mess, Kai gave a barely there squeak before scrambling to clean some of it out, putting things back in bags and containers. When he finished, he straightened up and tried to manage a now nervous smile. Things just got easier and easier, didn't they?

'My apartment had boxes everywhere, cups and cans where cups and cans shouldn't be, and my entire setee was out of place.' Manse said to him, stifling a laugh. 'I really wouldn't consider that a mess.' He finished, before he finished looking around, nose still twitching a little; it smelled pleasantly of Kai, and barely of Juliet; perhaps her lack of fur caused the lack of scent. He somehow found both of their scents comforting however, and vaguely began to consider going down to the animal centre to have a gander at the cats. 'May I ask what supernatural beings you've come into contact with so far?' He finally asked, leaning slightly on his desk, arms loosely folded and a warm smile on his lips. 'I'm intrigued now that I know what your uncle is married to.'
((What kinds of creatures should we have exist? So far we've got werewolves, witchdoctors, druidds... should we have actual witches, vampires, banshees... maybe creatures like wendigo's, hellhounds and sphinx? We could just like throw them all in there and Kai just happens to notice them more and more as Manse brings him fully into his world))

(That can work. As long as it doesn't get outrageous, I don't think there's a limit on what we can have exist? If that makes sense? Just don't bring in every creature known to the universe x3)
"Um..." Kai recalled "Of course witchdoctors. Ghouls, spectres, and a... uh... Khaa's talking pug?" Yeah, Khaa had a pug named Geraamte, which meant skeleton in Afrikaans. Anyway, the ones listed, those were only the ones he knew something about. Others that he'd seen, he didn't know too much. Scratching his chin, he added "Oh! And Impundulu! Khaa has tons back in her home in Africa, and she can summon them." Most probably never ever heard of that species, but the dumbed down version that they actually knew was "Thunderbird", supernatural beings who protect Witchdoctors. The "biggest and baddest" were big enough to ride. Khaa could never get Kai to ride one though, even though they're very social and hardy folk.

'Her talking... pug.' Manse slowly said, wondering how he'd react if his sweet little Bonnie suddenly began speaking to him. 'Thunderbirds?' He grinned widely, recognising the species. He loved those things; they were certainly a sight to behold, and you saw a lot of them on the plains further into the US. 'I guess you're already pretty initiated then.' He said to Kai, smiling. 'Unfortunately, I come from the darker side of the supernatural world.' He cast his darkened gaze away, looking irritated. 'Where all of the killers are. Vampires. Banshees. Wendigos.' He glanced up at him. 'Werewolves.' He watched Kai with a keen and careful eye, watching to see how he'd react to the words he brought to mind, to see if he recognised any and if he'd exhibit the fear that he should.

"Yeah, he's Khaa's Familiar," Kai spoke "Well, he comes when King and I call too." Looking around, he turned to grab some nearby candy. "I've read about vampires," Kai recalled "Never seen one. Next best thing to a vampire, that I've seen, are Adze." A shifter between giant fly and human. Drank blood while you slept, ate your organs if you were unfortunate enough to wake up. When "banshees" were mentioned, Kai flinched something awful. He scratched the ear on the side of his wounded face, feeling phantom pain. His eye had a weird look as he muttered "Um... yeah... I've seen a banshee." Kainder hadn't heard too much about Windigos, just that they were like any other man-eating monster. After another moment, he asked "Why bring it up, what I've seen or not?" Looking around, he wondered if the little Familiar would come. Still listening to Manse, he set the candy he'd grabbed on the floor, and questioned allowed "Geraamte? Are you busy?" For a second, nothing happened. Then, a small puff of smoke came to view. When it disappeared, a little dog dressed as Gandalf appeared. He was about to walk over, but paused when he saw Manse. The pug narrowed his eyes, tilting his head. Turning his back to the men, he began eating the candy set down by Kainder. (What Geraamte looks like)

((Omg cute))
Manse shook his head. 'I'm just curious is all.' He told him with a slight smile, then blinked as the pug appeared in the room. He tightly clamped a hand over his mouth as a very strange sound escaped his lips and he strained to not burst out laughing and offend the familiar. this is too much. he giggled in his head, looking at Kai with wide eyes that were sparkling with humour. 'What is- wrong with- your family?' He choked out, trying even harder to not burst into hysterics. Even for a werewolf, this was turning out to be a very, very strange day indeed.

Bloodrose Kainder rolled his eye at Manse, then looked at Geraamte, who had turned to look them. Walking over, little cloak trailing behind him, the pug then moved so his front legs were propped against one of Manse's larger ones, his head tilting up to look at the werewolf. After a moment of staring, he said "I think you aren't the most suitable mate for Kai. Kainder, please tell you haven't let this guy dirty you yet?" Geraamte was shooed away by Kai, who said "Geraamte, stop! Be nice!" "He looked at me funny!" The pug whined, using a paw to tilt his hat up slightly. Kai sighed, and opened his arms. Geraamte seemed to smile, and managed to climb into the blonde's grip. It was weird, especially since Kai had a fear of dogs. He still did, but less so if they looked funny dressed as wizards from Middle Earth. Plus, Geraamte would be killed if he harmed Kai. The pug wasn't a normal dog. Kainder smiled down at Geraamte, saying to Manse "I'm... um... he's just a little hostile to strangers?" He pat the pat the pug's side a few times, rolling his eye again as Geraamte growled at Manse, saying "If I had fingers, I'd flip you off." All the dig could do was waggle an angry paw at the man. The pug only looked away when Juliet walked in to investigate. Hopping from Kai's lap, he trotted over to the feline, who hissed and turned to walk away, ignoring Geraamte's "What did I do this time?? Was it the flowers I sent?" The day just kept getting weirder and weirder. Running a hand over his face, he sighed "You'll get used to it. It's better than seeing actual monsters." Kai had an apologetic look, knowing that everything going on wasn't exactly normal, even for a werewolf. Sometimes he wondered if he was being drugged into seeing things when he lived with his uncle, but that was quickly disproved. Kai couldn't say that all monsters were bad though, especially now that he knew Manse. One just had to dig around until they found the good ones. It took a while, but it finally happened for the author.

Manse listened with amusement to Geraamte's spiel of insults, and watched as he received a hug from Kai, attempted to flip Manse off, and then toddled off after Juliet. He looked up at Kai. 'Well, I suppose your family is better than mine.' He agreed. 'Mine is all part of Alpha's pack. My dad is a serial killer, my mother is a drug addict, my sister has bipolar and murderous tendencies, my youngest brother killed his twin, my aunt is mated to the alpha, and my oldest brother-' he paused, frowning. 'Actually, he's at university in New York. He's pretty normal.' He scratched the back of his neck. 'Oh- he dabbles with Vampires. I'm pretty sure he's married to one.' He frowned slightly and shook his head, looking at Kai. 'So... I won't really be introducing you to any of mine.' He sighed slightly and looked at the pug, suddenly wondering if they would get any privacy at all if they ended up dating after all. He felt exhausted still, and quietly rubbed his chest, wondering what the scars looked like on his body and worried that it might cause more problems for him. He hoped Alpha assumed he was dead and had gone home. There was fear in the werewolves' eyes, and he gazed sullenly at the floor.

Bloodrose"... what was your pack name?" Kai questioned, watching Geraamte leave for a moment. Manse's folk sounded like members of some herd of loons his uncle used to hunt before he finally lost track of them. He noticed Manse run his chest, and Kai frowned slightly, wishing Khaa would've sealed him up completely. That was a bit much to ask from her though. Kainder just wanted Manse to get better as quick as possible. It would be bad if that alpha came back while Manse wasn't at his prime. "I wish I could help you somehow," he murmured "But I can't do much against werewolves who actually like killing things." Manse's family sounded like a caravan of crazy, except for the brother in New York. And Kai was glad that he wouldn't be getting to meet them. Frowning a little, he found himself asking "None of them... live nearby, do they?" Kai would question the answer though. If the alpha was nearby, then the pack was never stationed far away, usually. The thought made him a scared, even though he wasn't the target.

But I'm not sure if Alpha brought the pack with him- I've never seen anyone else except him.' Manse told Kai, scratching the stubble on his chin throughfully. 'If he HAS brought them all with him, though...' he looked even more terrified- 'im a dead man walking.' He looked up at Kai. 'Even I can't take on the pack.'

Bloodrose"Lycaeon... I've heard of that pack," the author murmured "Uncle popped a bullet in a few of them before. The cut him up something awful, which attracted Khaa to him to help." He could only wonder what Kingston would do if he saw Kai playing nice with a werewolf. It would take a lot of pleading and convincing just to get Kingston to not shoot Manse. Kai hesitated, but offered "Keep Geraamte with you, just in case. He's Khaa's prized pet, and takes his safety very seriously. Should he ever be in the presence of danger, I think something happens? I was five when she told me... I think he explodes?" That honestly wasn't what would happen. Kai just couldn't recall her words correctly. He was sure it was some kind of insurance though. Geraamte finally came back into view, nose twitching as he settled beside Kainder. Kai smiled slightly, saying "I just hope you stay alive for a good while. It would be a shame to lose you after only knowing you for such a short time." Geraamte grumbled, deciding with a sneeze "You can do so much better than... that." He turned his big gaze toward Manse, actually gaining a face like he was looking at a bad piece if art.

Manse frowned deeply, rubbing his thigh for some reason as Kai mentioned his uncle shooting a few of his pack. He vaguely wondered if the crazy man that had shot him in the thigh one night had actually been Kai's uncle. Now wouldn't that be a coincidence? He snorted as Kai said that the pug would explode, very seriously doubting that would actually happen, and then felt his heart flutter at his words, despite them not exactly being romantic. He supposed he was glad that somebody actually cared about him. The flutter became a guilty, sad dip at Geraamte however, and he quietly looked at the floor, stifling a heavy sigh. 'You can, Kai.' He murmured. 'It was wrong of me to attempt to pursue you. Especially with everything happening in my life at the moment, and especially whilst knowing what happened to you.' He brushed some hair away from his face, and took a deep breath, sincerely meeting his gaze. 'If you don't want to get any more involved with my world- if you don't want to see me again, say the words and I'll walk away.' He said, trying not to stammer, his own words hurting him. 'I'll never bother you again.'

Bloodrose"I just said it would be a shame to see you die," Kai told Manse with a weird look "And you're among the very few who even accept me into their lives. I'm not quite ready to boot you out of my apartment just yet." He glares as Geraamte silently gagged, telling the dog "Go wait outside!" The pug snorted, got up, and left the apartment to go sit outside. Pinching the bridge of his nose, Kai exhaled heavily before saying "Just... ignore what he says. Witchdoctors and their aides dislike any werecreature." "And don't tell me that Geraamte is right," the blonde decided "Because I don't think either of care about whether he is or not." "And, remember what Khaa said if we parted ways? I don't want to be a frog." Kai didn't mention that to sound like something was forcing them to keep seeing each other though. Merely to lighten the mood, more or less. He hoped he still managed to get his point across after all of this. He didn't want to stop seeing Manse, and Geraamte needed to keep his thoughts to himself.

Manse stared at him as Kai ranted at him, blinking slowly, extremely moved at his words and his heart thumping with affection. His expression focused, he reached out his hand and took hold of the collar of Kai's shirt, before pulling him with unnatural strength against his body, and sliding his lips over Kai's, closing his eyes. if this doesn't scare you away, he thought, nothing will. He pulled away slightly to blink long lashes down at the author, gazing into his lonely eye. '...can I eat the dog?' He murmured, a mischievous, wolfish grin slowly spreading across his lips.

Bloodrose (The feeeeeels x3 When the shipping intensifies X'D) The author didn't get time to react when Manse pulled him into the kiss. Kai didn't protest in any way though, actually moving to put a soft hand on Manse's shoulder as if to keep the other man close. The feeling certainly was different, in a good way. It felt great, even though it caused Kai's heart to switch gears and beat much faster. His brain momentarily "flatlined", eyes closing as a tingling sensation spread through him. And Kai could bet all his money that he'd never blushed so deeply in his life. The author mentally whined when Manse pulled back. And then asked to eat Geraamte. Smiling softly, Kai answered as he looked back at Manse, studying his handsome face "If eating him didn't invoke Khaa's wrath, I'd let you."

Manse laughed at his reply and pulled Kai in for a second kiss, loving the feel of the author against his body and the warmth of his lips against his own. He slid a hand into Kai's hair to hold him where he was, the other releasing his collar to gently move to the small of Kai's back. It had been a long while since Manse had been in a relationship, and he'd forgotten how wonderful it felt to feel so close to another person.

BloodroseKai gladly kissed Manse back again, leaning into the touch. He felt... safe. Safe in Manse's hold. The author enjoyed the other's hands in his hair and on his lower back. Kai, in turn, found his hands going to wrap around Manse's neck. Had Kainder ever been in a relationship before? Nope. So Manse would need to accept it when he made mistakes. He broke their kiss when he needed to take a breath, murmuring after "I don't think anyone's made me blush this bad in my life." The blushing, slight shaking, nervous heartbeat and complete with the tingling. Still, it composed the best feeling in the world, because Manse was causing it all.

Manse smiled widely at Kai's words, gently stroking the back of the authors neck as he held him. 'Well,' he said, 'I take pleasure in being the first.' A light smirk on his lips he finally pulled away, suddenly unsure as to whether or not Khaa might be coming back. 'Do you want to go out for that drink tomorrow?' He asked, grinning sheepishly. 'It's like... four in the morning.'

BloodroseAt Manse's question, Kai looked at a clock on a nearby wall. It really was almost four. Laughing a little, he said "Time just flew by, didn't it?" Unwillingly, he managed to untangle himself from Manse's warm hold, straightening up as Geraamte once again walked in. Kainder hesitated before offering "Um... would you... like to... just sleep here? I know werewolves heal faster, but I bet you're still exhausted something awful."

Manse blinked, then blushed deeply and smiled with gratitude. 'I'd- yes. Thankyou.' He said, nodding at him. 'I appreciate it... I did wreck my bike.' He suddenly looked rather upset and sighed. 'I loved that bike.' He mumbled, folding his arms across his chest.

BloodroseKainder smiled when Manse accepted his offer, but then frowned when the other recalled his bike, saying "I can't say much, but I hope something works out." Looking Manse over, he added "Erm... I recommend you shower first though, before you sleep. At least to rinse off the blood." As much as he'd enjoyed their minutes of affection just before, Kai had also been pulled closer to kiss a man that smelled like old copper and dirt. Khaa hadn't sent all of Manse's blood back into his body. And sleeping in such a mess didn't sound appealing to Kainder.
