BloodroseKai blinked once when Manse paid for it all. He had to make a note to pay him back later, at least the account of his own order. When Manse held out his hand, Kai stared for a second, nervous. However, he did reach his hand to take Manse's, blushing yet again. Kainder wasn't the best at even starting relationships, driving people off with his stories and looks. Kai forgot all of those bad memories though, as he stood up, still holding Manse's hand after. It felt warm. Comforting even. And Kai liked it, along with the tingling sensation crawling around his body at the simple touching.

It felt warm. Comforting even. And Kai liked it, along with the tingling sensation crawling around his body at the simple touching. ((Cuties)) Manse smiled widely and looked away, a large blush settled on his own cheeks as he led Kai out of the restaurant, and then unwillingly let go of his hand to give him his helmet. He slid his own on and swung his leg over the bike, waiting for Kai to sit behind him as he flicked the switch for their microphones. 'Can you hear me?' He asked, testing it out to ensure they were still working. He glanced at the alley and frowned, feeling that uncomfortable tingle up his spine again. The quicker they left, the better.

Bloodrose (My thoughts since the beginning, honestly X3) Immediately did he miss the feel of Manse's hand taking his own. It almost made him frown. Kai took the helmet given to him, and put it on. The author had gotten onto the bike, swinging his own leg over just as Manse spoke. Thankfully, the mike worked as he answered "I can hear you." He noticed Manse once again look over at an alley, like he had earlier. Kai, even though he wasn't sure about what Manse was thinking about, felt his own unease growing. It was a good thing they were leaving. Kai didn't like feeling this kind of negative nervousness and unease.

It was a good thing they were leaving. Kai didn't like feeling this kind of negative nervousness and unease. 'Good.' Manse said, kicking his bike upright and setting it away, listening with satisfaction to the deep purr. He then kicked off once he was sure Kai was holding on, and roared down the street. He saw a black shadow flash somewhere behind him and froze, turning his head to see something very large and very animalistic running up the street after the bike. 'Kai, do me a favour; keep an eye on the street in front of you, and wrap your arms very tightly around my waist.' He calmly said, looking in front again, ready to outrun the werewolf that had apparently finally caught up to him.

BloodroseKai could just tell something was off. Just by the freezing of Manse's muscles. He'd been about to turn around, but held from doing so when the calm command was given to do the opposite. And so he did, keeping his one eye on the street in front, grip around Manse tightening. Oddly, Kai found himself shaking ever so slightly. His brain was trying to tell him something, but he couldn't tell what. Doing his best to suppress his growing unease, he just looked on ahead, no matter how much he wanted to glance back. Something was keeping him from doing so.

Manse breathed deeply to calm himself as he leaned lower on the back to smooth the ride, speeding up swiftly and making a tight turn around a corner. He began to very quickly pass the speed-limit, shooting between traffic and through red lights, using alley-ways as shortcuts and main-roads as places to hide. When he glanced back again he released a shaky breath of fear; it had to be him. He was still there. Further behind- but still there. why can't you just leave me alone, you crazy- he hissed in his thoughts, feeling crawling fear in his chest as he stared at bright red eyes full of murderous intent. He looked ahead again and turned a few more corners, then back on the main road- he took another highway, hoping this time the cars would block the werewolves view of them.
((So I was thinking that maybe this werewolf could be the alpha of a pack that Manse used to be a part of- a sort of tyrannous alpha who doesn't take lightly to someone who might, for instance, run away from his rule. So he's hunting down Manse to either kill him, or drag him back))

Bloodrose (I like the idea. Poor Kainder is going to be terrified if/when the alpha catches up to them though X'D) Kai just concentrated on the pulls and ribs in his gut as the bike zoomed about. As much as he wanted to question, the author stayed quiet. Not a peep. Manse probably knew what he was doing though, so Kai didn't panic, more or less. He just hoped that whoever they were fleeing from wasn't some insane wack. He found himself closing his lonely eye, shutting it tightly. Not being able to do anything, he'd just have to wait and see how everything played out.

((Awh bless his little heart ;n; I feel so bad poor thing ;n;)) Manse suddenly released a loud swear word as he skidded onto an empty street and there was a loud bang from his back tyre. The bike flipped upwards and he span mid air, grabbing Kai tightly into his arms as he hit the pavement and skidding, yelping with pain, his back hitting a wall hard. Winded, he was very glad he'd been wearing his helmet, but the collision with the wall had still disorientated him. He struggled to focus on his surroundings, still holding tightly and protectively onto Kai with one arm as he struggled to remove his helmet with a shaking hand, seeing nothing but glowing red eyes filled with victory approaching him.

BloodroseKai didn't have much time to register anything. First, they were upright, and then he was being held tight by Manse, who was looking at something. Looking around, his eye locked onto a pair of bright reds. Body tensing, breath hitching, the blonde had a brief flashback of the same thing, yet the red eyes had orange flecks. Kai tried scooting away, but Manse's grip kept him in place. No, no, no, not again. Even though he was rather out of it too, he started squirming and thrashing, blue eye unable to see anything else but the memory being relived. Except the werewolf was bigger this time, huge, and much more scary, which made the memory vision even more terrifying.

Manse shoved Kai onto his feet and rolled to the side as the werewolf lunged at him, before he grabbed Kai's hand and began to run, breathing hard. He wouldn't be able to outrun him- not this time. Not protecting Kai. is this it? Did I get too comfortable? I'm not ready yet. he thought to himself, watching as Alpha stood back up and roared at them angrily. 'Shit,' he breathed, voice breaking as tears welled in his eyes. He'd come so far!! 'Kai, I'm so sorry, I'm so, so sorry!' He gasped, pushing the blond behind him and spinning to face the werewolf. He tugged off his leather jacket, panting and panicked as the alpha sprinted at him. He felt warmth shoot through his muscles and pain split up his back as he transformed before the author, staggering back on two legs and releasing a deafening, mournful howl. His pelt was sleek black and thick, thicker around his neck- his tail full of fur, his claws long and sharp. His eyes were the same beautiful blue that they were as a human. He dropped to all fours and snarled a challenge at the Alpha, standing strict in front of Kai to stop him from getting to the author. The alpha barrelled directly into him and they began to brawl- teeth ripping into flesh and fur flying, claws slicing through muscle, vicious snarling and barking echoing in the alley. The alpha got dangerously close to Kai and Manse slammed him into a wall, taking him by the throat and throwing him away, shooting a panicked glance at the male and giving him a scared, high pitched whine. run, you idiot! Run!! he whined at him again, then yelped as the alpha locked his jaws on his ear and tore it, swinging around to rake his claws up Alpha's stomach. He was overwhelmingly strong, and fast. He wasn't sure how long he'd last.

BloodroseKai shuffled backward, watching Manse change shape. A werewolf. He was a... werewolf. His blue eye stared for a little longer, watching blood stain the ground and the sounds of carnage rip through the air. Kai was still trying to register Manse being... one of the monsters. Perhaps all that convincing that werewolves were good was just so Kai would let his guard down? Or try to do anything about it? But... Manse was protecting him right now. That had to mean something, right?? Then, Manse looked at him, whining. Still, the blonde was reliving his memories still, and only depicted Manse as a creature baring its sharp fangs. Jumping, he turned and ran off, knowing how to get home. No, no, he couldn't see Manse again. Even though Kai wanted to help werewolves, he had yet to overcome his fear. Werewolves were different than border-collie puppies! Eventually, the snarling had died down to nothing, and then Kai reached home. Scrambling to open the door and get inside, he hurried past Juliet to get to his room. Poor thing was too scared to remember to lock the door just yet. The only door he locked was that of his rom, as if either werewolf was right behind him and he had no time to lock both. "You take this and shiv the asses of any werecreature you see!" His uncle told him, giving the young boy the mean looking knife "It's silver!"
"O-Okay..." Kai managed to squeak out, looking as Uncle Kingston smiled proudly, saying "You look like a badass already!"He looked down at the glinting weapon, only glancing as his Sphinx came to join him. Kai never thought he'd touch the knife again, but there he was. Heart pounding, eye wide, he gripped it tight and told Juliet "He's a werewolf, Julie. He could've eaten me!" But the cat gave him a look, as if saying "seriously?". The cat seemed to understand that Manse didn't want to hurt Kai at all, even though she'd only heard of the man though Kai talking about him before. The author was shaking horribly now, feeling the metal in his hands as he just sat there, tense as ever. Every little sound caused him to flinch or jump.

((Helpful :') *pokes awake*))
Manse yelped as he was bitten badly on the shoulder and thrown against a wall, now struggling to even keep himself alive. It was a relief when Kai left- he had to hold off the alpha long enough to let him get away. He lunged at him again, fangs sinking into the side of his throat, but not deep enough- the alpha slammed him against the brick and shredded into his own neck, and he yowled loudly with pain, straining to kick him away, vision going black as he felt warm liquid on his thick fur. The alpha stepped back and snarled at him, red eyes again victorious. did you really think that you could take me, Runt? After everything me and the pack did for you; you ran, like the coward you are, with your tail between your legs... and not only do I find you hiding, I find you cavorting with a human. You're disgusting. May your death come slowly. The alpha turned and bounded away on all fours, nose twitching as he debated following Kai, but decided the death of Manse was enough for now.
Manse watched him go and felt the cold chill of the night air creeping in through his fur, and strained to keep breathing through his injury. If he could heal fast enough, he'd be fine- but he was injured in too many places at once. He tried to crawl up the alley, dragging himself after Kai's scent, whining softly, his heart aching- broken, he thought- claws raking on the cold ground. He eventually lay still, the movements taking too much precious energy, and waited silently to either heal, or die. i wonder how long it will take.
It took two hours. He woke up- thankfully- and shuddered at the pain that throbbed through his body. He took a deep breath and transformed back, sobbing at the sheer agony of it, before he staggered weakly to shaking legs and leans heavily on the wall, following Kai's scent. Kainder. Manse wasn't sure he'd even help him, considering what he knew about he male and what he'd just witnessed. He held his stomach and felt wet- looked down and saw his shirt soaked red. His chest was a mess, his hip torn, his stomach- ow. His neck was also a mess. He thanked the world that it was still dark, and very early morning. Finally he reached Kai's apartment and stumbled up the stairs, half on his hands-and-knees and dragging himself, before he thudded against the wall next to Kai's door. 'Kai,' he croaked, struggling to think of something to say through the haze in his head. 'I'm sorry. I shouldn't- I-' he coughed, tasting copper on his tongue, and hit the floor hard, rolling onto his back and staring blindly at the ceiling. 'help,' he finally said, his voice weak, desperate, and miserable. 'please...'

Bloodrose He heard it. Manse's voice. Kai jumped again, grip tightening around the silver weapon so hard his knuckles were white. His muscles loosened though, as he heard Manse fall, voice full of pain. Kai looked down at his cat, who meowed and began washing herself. Looking back at the door, it took all his courage to get up and walk to the door, unlocking it and opening it a crack. He gasped softly at what he saw. Opening the door all the way, he slowly knelt by Manse, yet he still held his knife. Looking over the other's wounds and bloody mess, Kai wanted to touch them to see how bad they were. He didn't want to hurt Manse though. How long did he have before death? It would be for sure just from blood loss if he didn't get help in the next ten minutes, or less. The closest hospital was miles away though, and medics wouldn't be there quick enough. Kai's blue eye teared up a little, then grew wide. Scrambling for his packet, he pulled out his phone, running through the contacts like a crazy man. Finally calling someone, a second passed before he spoke with a shaky voice "K-Khaa? I-I need h-help. Please- no, I'm fine! Just come quick!" Hanging up, he looked around frantically, managing to find a bunch of towels to pile onto Manse's wounds as best he could. Then, he heard footsteps. Kai whipped his head around, watching a figure walk down the hallway. Black-skinned, slender, and decorated in a bunch of jewelry and a headdress both made of feathers, beads and bones.

((OOOOH I'm intrigued))
Manse felt relief like no other when Kai emerged from his room, and now focused on trying to keep his breathing steady, listening wearily to how it rattled in his chest. Not a good sound. He vaguely wondered who Khaa was, and tipped his head back a little to see who he could hear coming down the corridor. He coughed, blood spilling from his lips and trickling over his chin, dripping onto the floor. He flinched at a wave of pain- his left hand clawed at the wooden floor, leaving great gouges behind as he whimpered.

Bloodrose(>:3) "Khaa" simply looked down at Manse. Up close, one could see it was a she. Kneeling beside Kainder, she examined the man before snorting, and reaching two fingers to dig right into the tears in his stomach, feeling around for a second before taking her fingers back, and putting them in her mouth. Licking the blood clean, her dark brown, almost black irises turned to the same bright shade as Manse's eyes. Kai could only watch as Khaa flicked her hand once, and a staff came out of nowhere. The staff ade of vertebrae of some animal, with a topper that looked like a cat skull with its jaws open. The beads hanging off of it rattled as she moved it over Manse, about two inches, while muttering things. She only paused to say, to Kai, "Your uncle taught you better. These creatures are abominations of hell." Kai hesitated, and was about to say something, but only flinched instead when Khaa dug fingers of her free hand into another one of Manse's wounds. This time though, glowing blue smoke rolled from her fingers as she went back to muttering. No one could notice under all the blood, clots and fresh scabbing that one of the wounds, on his hip actually, slowly began closing up, leaving scarred tissue in its wake.

Manse released a heartbreakingly pained cry as she dug her fingers into his wound, arching his back and gouging the floor further. His eyes flashed red momentarily as his body struggled to defend itself and force him to transform, but he shoved it down, desperately trusting Kai over his own primal instincts. They returned to their beautiful shade of blue, watery from tears that streaked through blood and dirt on his cheeks. He shuddered the second time that she did it, now barely feeling the pain as there was that much of it, his vision swimming black and his breathing heavy. He struggled to examine the woman, wondering what on earth she was and why she was so hell-bent on making him suffer as she healed him.

BloodroseThe process continued, until wounds were becoming a closed, slightly raised scar. It was painful, yes, but just because Manse was getting healed didn't mean it was a free ride through pleasure. Kai watched Khaa as she sat back, reaching a hand to scratch her side. Her eyes changed from blue back to brown, Khaa saying "He will be fine, Kainder. The chest was stubborn though, so it's still a wound. It will heal on its on regular time though, because of what he is." Getting up, she used a bare foot to move all of the towels away, then walked to the kitchen area, setting her staff aside as she dug through Kai's fridge. Kai sighed heavily, then looked back at Manse. His blue eye had a sad look. Even though none of it was Kai's fault, what happened, he still felt pained to see Manse even when he was healed up. Not knowing what else to say, he could only manage "You're a werewolf." Then, Kai found himself scooting away to go inside his room, Khaa glancing back with a roll of her eyes.

Manse, utterly exhausted, strained to listen to what Khaa said as she finished healing his wounds. Very slowly he sat up, coughing still, holding his chest. He clutched at it when Kai scooted away from him, new emotional pain hitting him hard in the heart. he doesn't trust me anymore. He wiped his eyes with his free hand. 'Yes, Kainder, I'm a werewolf.' He sighed, grabbing the doorframe and heaving himself to his feet, wincing slightly. '...thanks.' He added, curiously examining Khaa, wondering again what she was, before he looked back at Kai. 'I'll go now.' He softly said, looking at the floor. 'I'm sorry for everything. He won't come for you. Don't worry about that.' He turned and began to limp away, sullen in his agonised belief that Kai wouldn't want to see him anymore. And why should he? He was a beast. A monster, as Kai had so often called his kind.

Bloodrose And then Khaa was in front of Manse, a half eaten sandwich in her jaws, and her free hand pressing slightly against his chest. When Manse was stopped, her hand moved to grab her sandwich and take a bite, saying after she swallowed "You're just making it worse for you both if you leave. Don't be a weinie." If Manse actually left and never came back, Kai would just continue to associate him with bad and saddening thoughts. Khaa stared at Manse, fitting the rest of the sandwich in her mouth and chewing. Her dark brown eyes studied him, brows raised as she did. Kai was just sitting in his room, holding Juliet to him with one hand, the other still gripping the knife softly. He thought Manse had left though, so he didn't even know why he was still holding it.

Manse made a very strange, girly squeaking noise and slammed his back against the nearest wall, very suddenly realising he was absolutely terrified of the woman standing in front of him. 'Okay,' he managed to get out, his voice still unnaturally high. He coughed, then, 'ok.' He repeated, back to normal. He nervously looked around. 'But he's scared of werewolves.' He hesitantly said, very aware of what he said around her, severely not wanting to upset, anger, or tick her off. He rather cherished having a head, and other body parts, and didn't doubt for a second that she'd remove them if he stepped out of line.

"I don't know you, but I'll rip your ears off," Khaa told him simply "If he cared enough to call me, the that means he still cares." Then, to make it "easier", she called, more so ordered, for Kainder to come over to them. Kai peeped from his room, then walked with his hairless cat until he was looking at the two. Just as he turned away, Khaa slammed her staff down once, the bottom clunking dangerously on the floor. The blonde froze, knowing that action meant angry with Khaa, and slowly turned around before walking back over. The woman looked them both over, saying "You two, talk. And I want results along the line of staying in contact. If it ends up with not seeing each other again, I'll turn you both into frogs." Kai blinked, and his cat hissed.

During his fear, Manse very strangely found himself wondering if he would be some kind of strange lycanthropic frog. He waited until Khaa had gone, before looking at Kainder with wide eyes. 'What on earth is she?' He hissed, his terror evident in his eyes. 'How do you even know someone like that? Are you crazy?' He brought his hands up to his face and leant against the nearest wall. 'Even I don't know people like that!! And I know a lot of people, Kai!'

Bloodrose"That's my uncle's wife," Kainder said softly "She's a Witchdoctor." Even though Uncle Kingston killed monsters, he'd spared one, who'd saved his life. This was after he'd taken Kai under his care. Even though Khaa insisted on parting ways after she helped him, Kingston wouldn't have it. Now, they were married. Scratching his head, he continued "Uncle Kingston loves her, so I trust her. Just her being around is like a big, dangerous charm. She's actually like... um... an alpha? She just... erm... didn't like you enough to heal you fast, and completely." Khaa was the head honcho of her species. Actually the most powerful of her kind. Ever. She could've healed Manse without lifting a finger, but she hated werewolves. One nearly ate her and Kingston's baby daughter some years ago. The only reason she tended to Manse was because Kai seemed to care about him. A lot. Sounded terrified over the phone. "And don't talk bad about her!" He whispered, as if finally registering what Manse said "She could still be around!" He glanced around, as if expecting her to have appeared again.

((These two are honestly the biggest dorks walking I love them))
Manse listened as Kai explained, and then mimicked his nervous looking around. He shook his head. 'Usually I'd go to a druidd to heal my wounds.' He said. 'But there doesn't seem to be one in this town... or at least, I haven't found one yet.' He nervously held his hand out to Kai, not expecting him at all to take it this time. 'Can... we sit?' He asked softly, lowering his gaze to the floor. 'I think I probably need to explain some things to you.'
