sorry I'm not super active... school is kicking my butt right now haha Cordelia looked down at the arrangement fancy chocolates. It was hard to believe that these particular chocolates tasted any better than the ones from home, but alas, she had been wrong before. A look of skepticism transformed into one of pleasant delight when she took a bite of what she had assumed was a strawberry truffle. “Oh wow,” she breathed before placing the rest of the morsel in her mouth. “You weren’t kidding! That has to be one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating...” (Totally understandable, Torr. No worries! Hakuna Matata and all that. Lol.) Augustus smiled at her. "Ye of little faith," he quipped, leaning forward enough to rest his elbows on the table. "It is perhaps a cheesy question, but too obvious not to ask. What is your favorite dessert, Miss Cordelia?"

Skyshadow:
(Sorry! I thought I had responded!)
Augustus stepped back and raised an eyebrow at her, a small smirk lighting his face. He clicked a button and the whole screen showed a huge image of the animals in he movie. "It's a children's movie," he reiterated, just staring at Patience. "I just need a minute to reconcile the fact that the sophisticated girl in front of me has chosen a children's movie about talking animals as her favorite," he teased. He shook his head and made his way to the chair beside her. For a brief moment he had considered sitting further away, but heaven's sake, this was a date. "Did you want popcorn or are you ready to start the movie?"

midterms will be the death of me haha.....
Cordelia couldn’t help but stifle a giggle at the jest, raising her hands up in surrender in a ‘‘I’ll never doubt again’ kind of gesture. “Besides the strawberry truffle, you mean?” she joked, leaning back in her seat and placing her hands back in her lap. “That’s a tough question, though I’d have to say I’m partial to cheesecakes,” she admitted. “I would ask what yours is, but, let me guess… the strawberry truffles?” She asked playfully, glad to be feeling far more at ease than she had previously.
I'm totally up for a group activity ~

Hawkpaw: (Sorry to see you go, Hawkpaw! Have fun!)
Tigerlily: (Any ideas what we should do, Tiger? A class of some sort maybe? Or...?)
Torr: Augustus smiled. "Cheesecake huh? I'll have to remember that." I really do need to remember that. Remember that! he thought to himself. "Hm." He tilted his head to the side and thought. "I think I'd have to say ice cream, actually," he told her. "I like the cold, and all the different flavors." He glanced up at her eyes again. "Shall we play this game? The 'What's Your Favorite...?'"

(Hmmm well he seems to still be doing dates with everyone else and those look like they could last. So either move onto another date or maybe do one of the things where the girls have to plan a party that the other countries leaders are coming to, that sounds fun.)

"Hey!" Patience smiled, leaning away slightly to look at him with a tilted expression. "Come on now, don't judge the movie if you haven't seen it. And, if you cry, you owe me... something." The Selected girl shook her head for a moment to flick some hair out of her eyes. "Is the popcorn here good? That's the real question here." Patience glance d back at the machine. It looked like one from a movie theatre, at least.

“Ice cream,” Cordelia repeated, surprised at the answer. “Good choice.” It seemed like such a simple, average choice considering all the luxuries that palace had to offer. Not a bad choice by any means, but she had expected something more... fancy? Expensive? Nonetheless, it was refreshing to hear. “Oh, why not,” she said, casting her gaze down to the table--it was like one of those ‘get to know you’ games on the first day of school. “What’s your favourite... season?”

Let's do a parade! Like they had in The Heir! ...Which really should have technically been called The Heiress and it still kinda bugs me! But anyway... haha... does that sound like something y'all might want to do?)

But on the other side of the coin, will you owe me if I don't cry?" he asked, tilting his head as well. He followed her gaze to the popcorn machine and hopped up. "You can hardly go wrong with popcorn," he insisted, booting up the machine. "Let me make you some."

"You know," he mused, "I was actually never permitted to play this game; it was 'too informal' for a prince. But I always thought it sounded so efficient. You get straight to the answers, down to the nitty gritty," he laughed. "All right, favorite season. Summer, I think. Everything's alive and buzzing and exciting. Hm, what's your favorite...sport to play?"

"Fine, sounds like a plan." Patience laughed lightly, pushing herself out of her seat and watching the Prince make popcorn. "So do you ever just like... come down here and gorge yourself with popcorn? Because I feel like I'd gorge myself with popcorn." The Selected girl stood next to Augustus, watching what he was doing. "I've actually never... made popcorn. I always microwaved those little bags that made the house smell bad when you burned them."

If you guys are cool n stuff w me joining again, I'd love to, just let me know. If not, hey, I'm alive, I'm sorry!)

Tiger:
(That's okay! Basically there was just this parade where all the girls and the prince get to ride a float and wave to the adoring crowds, kind of like a kick-off. For our purposes, maybe it can be for some kind of national holiday or something instead!)
Sky: Augustus laughed, raising his eyebrows. "Would you? I don't know. Popcorn seems like the kind of food that you don't really feel full when you're eating it, but that definitely messes with your stomach after too long." He fiddled with some levers and timers on the machine. "That sounds much easier," he groaned. After a few minutes, though, the popcorn was ready, and he gathered a bowl for her and one for himself. "I do have multiple hiding places. This isn't one of them, though. Too obvious, don't you think?" He smirked slightly and headed back for his chair. "Are you ready?"

I like the parade idea c:
“Never?” Cordelia asked, surprised. She assumed everyone had at least once in their lives played this game or something similar--it was a staple in schools, work orientation, et cetera. A common experience they all shared… or not. This small detail couldn’t help but make her wonder what other ‘givens’ were considered too informal or not appropriate for royalty.
“Yes, definitely,” she agreed. “It’s a great way to quickly find common ground.” She laced her hands together on the table, leaning forward slightly. Nodding in understanding at his answer, she quipped, “I agree.” She paused to mull over an answer to his question, sliding her gaze up to look at the sky. Sport to play? There were none. Unfortunately, she didn’t dabble in athletics--watching sports was much more her speed. “Ah… badminton,” she decided finally. “Favourite… hobby?”

"Yeah!" Patience smiled, taking her popcorn bowl and going to sit in her chair, crossing her legs and eating a few kernels. "Well you're not wrong about popcorn being the kind of food that you can literately explode from," She laughed lightly. "But I mean... it's totally worth it." The Selected girl took a few more pieces. "This castle has good popcorn." She commented, not really sure what else to say.

Torr: (Yay! So that's one vote in favor. ) Augustus noted her folded hands with a hidden hint of disappointment. That meant she wasn't eating another sweet, which meant he couldn't eat another sweet. He didn't let this show on his face though. He did, however, burst out with a laugh at her answer. "Badminton? Really? The game we played earlier today?" He raised an eyebrow in disbelief. ~~~~~~~~ Sky: She was acting much more excitable about this movie than Augustus had thought she might. He decided not to comment on it though, for fear of making her feel awkward. Why not let her enjoy herself. One corner of his mouth pulled up in a grin as he pressed play. "Well, we have to have some reason for the people to stick around," he answered.

Cordelia’s face flushed a bright pink at the response. She hadn’t been expecting him to call her bluff, and as such was at a loss for words. “Ah, well,” she began hesitantly, placing a hand on her cheek and appreciating the rush of cold. Scanning the nearby area for a moment to think, her gaze landed on the sweets. She reached for the closest one and popped it in her mouth, chewing slowly and pondering a response.
“I mean… Yeah.” She paused to take a sip of water. “You said: sport to play,” she said, adding that extra emphasis on the end. “I like watching lots of sports. Baseball, football idk if they’d call it football or soccer in this country lol, hockey… But it don’t necessarily like playing them,” she added with a laugh. “What’s yours?” she asked pointedly--a challenge of sorts.

"I can see why. I would stick around solely for the popcorn." Patience smirked, taking a bite of the popcorn as Aguustus turned on the movie. Turning her attention to the screen, a genuine smile played across her lips. She had used to watch this movie with her father... it was the only thing that she ever had wanted to watch as a little girl. The thought of her father pulled her back from the fun time she was having; You're here to do something, Patience. Remember that. The voice in her head was so much like her father's she almost flinched.

Torr:
Augustus was trying not to smirk, he really was. He just wasn't trying very hard. "I see. I'm sorry you've have such a miserable experience with sports thus far in your life. You must have, if you've decided badminton is your favorite," he said in a grave tone, though he was still teasing her. He reached for another dainty little cheesecake square wrapped in a miniature doily before she folded her hands and prevented him from eating anything else again. "All right. I enjoy soccer. I also enjoy horseback riding, but that's not really a sport unless you're showing, and I never had the time or patience. I was content once I'd learned how to jump over ordinary obstacles."
Sky:
"I'll try not to take that personally," Augustus chuckled quietly as the movie started. He didn't miss her wistful smile, even in the dark. She really must like this movie. He was suddenly aware that he was glimpsing her childhood, and it was strange. A person's memories of and associations with their youth were usually happy and certainly foundational, and to learn about it was like a gateway straight into a person's being, somehow. He was romanticizing it a bit, of course, but still, it felt like a big deal. So he decided not to needle her about the otherwise childish choice and sat back to watch. Nobody ever need know that the prince watched a children's movie at twenty years old.
