Frostie: (Aw! That makes me sad! We certainly will miss you.) Morningwing: (Looks good! I won't have access to an actual computer for a couple days, so I won't be able to add Justice to the front page, but you may consider yourself added.) Tiger: Augustus smiled. "I have definitely done that. In the middle of an important supper when mistakes like that make you look silly at best or like you don't care at worst." He chuckled and took a sip of his water.

"Wow. It's like a real theatre!" Patience smiled, looking around in awe. This palace always had a way of surprising her at every turn. "Do you even have Homeward Bound?" She asked, walking to the edge of the theatre and looking at the popcorn machine, and all the other things that were around. "Well I guess you must, with something this big!" "Only the best," Augustus chuckled. He moved to the set of remotes and turned on the screen. All their movies were digitally loaded into a database like a computer. "I'm honestly not sure. Let me see..." He started searching and scrolling. He frowned slightly in co fusion and tilted his head to the side. "...Is it--a children's movie?"

Lily laughed lightly, "Tell me they thought it was funny." She asked through a laugh. "I couldn't imagine you getting in trouble for that kind of thing."

"After I apologized. They understood." He glanced up at her. "So. Horses and languages. Interesting. Almost seems like two different ends of a spectrum. Have you any brothers or sisters?" He paused. "Have I ever asked you that before?"

After her several days in the palace, Cordelia didn’t expect to see anything more magnificent than she already had. She was wrong, of course. The backdrop to the setup was quite literally breathtaking. Pausing in the doorway to take in the scene, the girl wrung her hands nervously behind her back. She blinked away her astonishment and ambled over to the table, dutifully taking a seat with a quiet ‘thank you.’ A thoughtful smile grew on her face at the prince’s words. “Very romantic,” she agreed. “And what a gorgeous view… Just when I thought I’d seen it all.”

Augustus smiled and took a seat across the small table from her. "The palace is full of such pleasant surprises," he assured her. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all. What was intimidating about a girl and candlelight? "But I am certainly glad you approve."

Lily shook her head, "you hadn't asked me that yet." She looked at her plate and sighed softly. "I had a twin brother... He died when we were 14. He got Leukemia and it killed him."

Justice was dusting some shelves whe the dust finally got to her. She sneezed rather siletly, from a few years of dusting and cleaning she thought the dust would not bother her any more, though she had learned to stifle her coughs and sneezes as not to disturb the Selected or the royals. The 14 yer old girl had been working as a maid for two years; she started when she was 12 to help her family make a living, and it seemed to be working out.

Cordelia smiled and placed her hands neatly in her lap while sitting up a little straighter. She nodded in agreement at the palace being ‘full of surprises’, though it was hard to imagine anymore surprises, anything was definitely possible. “So,” she began, trying to fill the quiet with something--anything. “How are you?” It was a simple question, definitely, but she couldn’t come up with anything else, and perhaps it was a good place to start?
Max ambled down one of the servants’ hallways, toting a plate of freshly baked cookies. He balanced them in his hands carefully as to not knock them onto the ground. It had been unusually slow in the kitchen today, and once all the dish cleaning and silverware polishing was completed, a few of the crew members decided to do some baking. And thus, the cookies were born. And boy, did they smell good. With the scent of the still-warm cookies wafting behind him, Max casually made his way to the staff room to offer up the goods.

Justice put down her duster and sat down in a wooden chair, careful to make sure she didn't get dust on it. She dispised dusting. She got up and picked her duster. She started on the way to the servants' hallways, practicly sneezing the whole way, oly covering her mouth and muffling her sneezes when she came upon the occasional royals or Selected chatting together.

(Hey, guys! Sorry I wasn't on yesterday. Yesterday was moving day! Busy times.)
Tiger: Augustus frowned unhappily, lowering his fork. "Oh. I'm very sorry, Lily." He didn't try to say anything else because he knew nothing else offered any comfort, no matter how precisely or beautifully it was said. So he was simply silent for a moment, then asked, "I've always wondered what it would be like to have a twin. Well, any sibling, really, but I imagine that relationship is special between twins."
Torr: He smiled as he adjusted his chair so he could see her a little better, then sat back a bit, trying not to be too formal for the sake of Cordelia's comfort. The normalcy of the question helped too, though he suspected she was a bit embarrassed by it. "I'm well, thank you. It's been a long day of trying to spend time with you ladies. I'm hoping I'll learn the appropriate behavior quickly," he joked. He raised his blue eyes to hers. "How are you?"

Lily sighed gently, "he was my closest friend along with being my twin." She laughed lightly. "He would have laughed if he could see me stumbling over my words and getting so flustered talking to you."

"I'm sure he would be just as flustered if he were the one talking to a royal date," Augustus assured her with a chuckle. "You ladies don't seem to get flustered quite as easily as men do, not when it comes to dealing with romantic sorts of things."

"I'm flustered just being here with you." Lily admitted. "Especially after getting to know you a bit." She blushed lightly. "It's not even that you are royalty. You are just so kind. And there is something about you that's intriguing but I can't quite put my finger on it."

"Well of course. That's my air of mystery," Augustus said without skipping a beat. "I work very hard on that you know." He grinned and glanced up at her, then took another bite of food, to stall in case that didn't go over well. Was that flirting? Or just joking? I don't make jokes. I'm not funny... What an interesting development. "Thank you for the compliments, Lily. It's wonderful to be acquainted with such a sweet and open person."

Augustus hesitated only long enough to blink. "Probably both, I suppose." He glanced from her face to his plate. "So. I know about your family, that you want to own a stable for disabled children, and that you are a connoisseur of languages. What else ought I to know?"

no worries Holly! I hope your move went well!
Cordelia nodded in understanding, able to relate to the feeling of being stretched too thin. Trying to get to know thirteen strangers seemed taxing in itself, but add on the regular duties of being a prince? It sounded very overwhelming. She blinked the thoughts away and smiled at the joke. “I’m sure you’ll catch on in no time,” she quipped, relaxing her shoulders a little. “I feel the same way--about trying to learn the right behaviors quickly.” She met his gaze for a brief moment before letting it drift down the the tablecloth. “I’m okay. I’m enjoying being fussed over,” she admitted, “sort of like a getaway from real life.”
The sound of sneezing echoing down the hallway caught the attention of one Max Alister, causing him to pull his plate of cookies closer to his chest. No offense to whoever was sneezing, but he wasn’t going to let the kitchen staff’s treasure be ruined by a few sneezes. The source of the sneezing came into sight a few moments later. It was none other than the young maid, Justice. Max wasn’t overly familiar with her, however he often greeted her in passing. “Hello Justice,” he greeted with a smile, though he kept his plate close to his body protectively.

Lily hesitated, "that you don't know everything about my family...." she trailed off with a nervous glance at the table. "I may have given you the impression that my father is still around. But he's not..."

Augustus chuckled. "A getaway. What a way to think of it. I'm certainly glad you are enjoying your time here, though. It's gratifying to hear the experience is enjoyable if a little overwhelming." He reached for one of the chocolate truffles on the table. "Now. Have you ever had a strawberry truffle before? Because your standards are about to be revolutionized," he said. Smiling, he popped the chocolate into his mouth.

Augustus blinked again and nodded slowly. "I knew," he said softly. "I--I spent days poring over the names of all those who died in the mine collapse, and I get files on all you girls outlining the basics of your lives. I didn't spend much time on them, because I wanted the pleasure of getting to know each of you the normal way, but I did read about that. I am so very sorry, Lily." He and his mother had both given apology addresses and speeches since the terrible event, but even though it was not their fault, they would never feel absolved.

Lily felt a few tears slip from her eyes and brushed them away. "It's not your fault. It was a terrible accident. But I still miss him every day." She could recall the day in her memory like it was yesterday.

Lily looked at his hand on hers and used her free hand to brush away the stray tears. "I'm okay." She said, pulling herself together. "You're the only person I've ever cried in front of besides my mother..."

Augustus wasn't sure what to say to that either, so he just smiled reassuringly and nodded. When it seemed she had her composure back, he pulled his hand away and started talking about nothing until she was calm enough to join in. (I'm thinking we could probably wrap this up and come up with another group activity or something! )

Cordelia looked down at the arrangement fancy chocolates. It was hard to believe that these particular chocolates tasted any better than the ones from home, but alas, she had been wrong before. A look of skepticism transformed into one of pleasant delight when she took a bite of what she had assumed was a strawberry truffle. “Oh wow,” she breathed before placing the rest of the morsel in her mouth. “You weren’t kidding! That has to be one of the tastiest things I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating...”
