Shade looked a bit concerned for Ajax, noticing she seemed to he strained. She was about to respond, then lifted her head when Blair came back and opened the door for them. Once they were inside and she let go of her, she stepped back and looked at herself, seeing her skin going back to gray. Again, she looked up at them and offered a grateful half smirk. "Yeah, thanks. This place is huge, geez..." she trailed into a mumble, looking around with wide, curious eyes. After getting a good look around, she looked back to the teen on the edge of the bed. "How'd you do that, if you don't mind my asking? Changing my skin, I mean." Although she had powers of her own and had seen many different kinds of magic, whatever Ajax had done was very new to her.
Rhydian didn't actually mind being wet too much, but with rain... He just didn't like how it soaked you slowly, one flipping drop at a time. "True. Maybe they like rainy weather," he said thoughtfully, lifting his shoulders in a shrug. When she mentioned the awning collapsing he frowned and looked up, lifting one hand to poke at it delicately. "Seems pretty strong, I don't think it'll break anytime soon.... probably," he mumbled the last bit and lowered his hand, hugging himself against the cold. He smiled when she introduced herself and dipped his head. "Nice to meet you, Vyra. Nice name."

Ajax rubbed her temples, her color returning slightly, "oh, I'm an illusionist. I just made an illusion around you, changing the color of your skin," she explained. It was hard doing it on other people, because you have to guess their every movement, and it exerted incredible amounts of magic from her. But she was getting better and better the more she practiced, much to Luna's disdain, since the dragon knew how much it drained her rider.

Blair periodically exited the room, returning with various items: fresh clothing, blankets, towels, personal hygiene items. Deciding that she had brought them everything they might need, she stood silently by the door, carefully not to press up against the wall lest she get stains on it. She didn't feel like painting any time soon. The way she was raised, it was quite weird to listen to these two discuss these matters as if they were normal. She cleared her throat, "I hate to interrupt but, uhm.... Why were you two out there? An actual reason, thank you very much."

"I'm just traveling through town, I was hoping to make it to Xanthos by nightfall, but with the rain I decided to stay here. I was looking for a park or somewhere to crash for the night." She lied smoothly, used to having a firm cover story. Well, she was headed to Xanthos, one of the big cities, its just her clients had told her to meet them in this town. In fact, when she was found by these two girls she had just finished her exchange with them, so luckily she had no contraband on her... At this time at least. She grabbed a clean towel and got most of the moisture out of her dark hair, briefly enjoying the softness of the towel , but made no move to change out of her drenched clothing, not quite cold enough to change out of her dress. If Luna could keep her warm, why risk losing her dress?

Shade listened with intense interest, nodding slowly. "Ohh.... thats incredible," she said, smiling widely and making the scars on her face stretch out. She glanced over, watching in silence as Blair came and went, bringing more things back every time. Once she'd finished, she gave her a grateful look and grabbed a towel to dry her hair and her face, particularly her eyes so the moisture would quit making them stick when she blinked. After Ajax had explained herself, she went ahead and spoke up. "I'm, uh... looking for someone and trying to avoid someone else," she explained, trying to be simple and vague. "This is where I usually come whenever I'm trying not to be found."

Blair hoped her expression gave nothing away about what she thought of these two tales. They were both young, how could they possibly be caught up in this much turmoil. Then again, who was she to speak. She was only twenty, after all- oddly still lived with her family... -and considered herself to have a tumultuous lifestyle. "Come here?" She snorted, tugging off the windbreaker that had been covering her obnoxiously neon pink sweatshirt. Her nose scrunched up in disgust as she balled it up. She'd have to go wash it off in her own room. No point in getting their room's bathroom bloody. "Well, I suggest you get out of here as soon as the sun rises. Town hasn't been particularly friendly goin' on a month, now." She glanced towards the window, rain still beating down on it, a hollow sort of feeling to her tone. "Bad things happen at night."

Leif sipped at her tea, neglecting the wrinkled and yellow book in front of her. She leaned back in her chair, green locks and curls of hair falling over her back and the chair. She breathed out, and in. She felt the breeze, tasted the rain in the air, closed her eyes and yawned. Enjoying the world's feelings around her made things seem stronger; warmer tea, stronger flavors, greater smells and the turn of the earth.

"Yeah, maybe.." Vyra murmured, watching the rain fall. She didn't remember seeing any signs when she'd been walking around looking for Arlo... Maybe they were somewhere in Washington? She'd never been, but she'd been told it rained a lot there. It didn't really look the way she'd pictured it, but it was still sort of cool in it's own way... Actually, it reminded her a bit of a drawing she'd seen awhile back in Arlo's sketchbook. It took her a moment to realize that Rhydian was talking again. "Hmm? Oh, you too! And thank you," she said with a smile.

Brow furrowed even further, looking almost concerned about Ajax's interest, Blair leaned back a bit. She clutched the clump of fabric in her hands tightly. "I'm not quite sure how to explain it..." She began softly, turned her eyes to the ground. "Like I said, it's been going on for about a month now. Before it was only the occasional beast. See, my family- they're hunters, protectors of a sort." Most often, they protected the town from things like these two, which Blair had only been debating the morality of for two years. "Recently, it's like... It's almost like a disease. A gross, black disease that makes normal, innocent folk into these hideous monsters at night. I'm the only one of my siblings made to hunt them..." She added the last bit of information on queitly, lifting up her right arm, as if that was somehow an explanation. Although, noticably, her rise sleeve puffed out a bit more, implying she wore some sort of covering on her arm underneath. "And believe me... Whatever this thing is, it's nasty. You do not want to be caught out there alone."

gosh dang, sorry i haven't been on guys)
Shade raised an eyebrow when she snorted and listened intently, looking down for a moment thoughtfully. This city had been her safe haven for a long time, was that changing? Tilting her head up, she continued to listen, staring in silence. Both of her eyebrows lifted as she went on and she frowned deeply. To say the least, she was a bit upset and angry. What had caused it? Where did it come from? "Well, thats... unpleasant..." she grumbled quietly.
Rhydian watched her for a moment, then turned to look back out at the rain while he assumed she was lost in thought. When she spoke to him again he looked over, grinning and chuckling quietly. "Thanks, glad you think so. So, what's your sister look like? Maybe I've seen her around," he said. He stepped back, leaning against the stone wall.

((when you accidentally delete a post you're trying to edit...))
"She's got really light blonde hair, bright green eyes and she usually wears a lot of black and grey..." Vyra paused, brushing her wet bangs away from her eyes as she tried to think of any details that might help him remember if he'd seen her. "Her hair usually goes over part of her face and she has a black arrowhead necklace she wears all the time... She has a few knives but I didn't see any on her last time I saw her."

Blair laughed, a sound that was vaguely hysterical. "Yeah, it's really... Not good, isn't it?" She reached a hand up to run it through her hair. Realizing that she had blood on the head, she made a quiet noise of disgust and dropped her hand back to her side. "No one seems to have a clue what causes it, and the infected people don't even realize it when they aren't being affected by it." It was becoming such a problem that her family was debating whether or not they should start sending her out on day runs, to kill the infected while they didn't pose such a threat. Not that they were very concerned for their blood's wellbeing- they certainly didn't care if all the town thought she was a crazy, meaningless killer -simply that they wanted to deal with the problem efficiently. This infection was getting in the way of what her parents would consider the "true" problem in this "inpure" world. "I'll be right." She held up the windbreaker, then exited the room to go clean this, as well to change out of her wet clothing.

Shade mulled the new information over, actually quite intrigued with this dangerous disease thing. It was a wonder and very lucky she hadn't come across it before, feeling immense relief that the odds had been in her favor. When she looked up again she realized that Blair was leaving and watched her go, then turned to look at Ajax. "You really haven't heard of or seen it either?" she inquired, perking her ears up. She was quite surprised with herself for not having caught wind of it sooner.
His eyebrows knit together and he lifted one hand, setting it over his mouth as he tried to think back to if he had seen Vyras sister. Although Rhydian could remember seeing a few blondes here and there, none of them really fit her description and he hesitantly shook his head. "Don't think I've seen her... I might've, but I can't remember seeing anybody with a black arrowhead necklace," he said finally.

(( I'm so sorry I haven't been on, I didn't realize you'd replied until last night and I've been having a hard time writing posts that aren't too short. they're probably still awful, oops ))
Vyra watched him hopefully as he tried to remember. She was bit disappointed when he answered, but she wasn't really surprised. "Oh, okay... thanks," she replied. It was still possible that Arlo was somewhere in the town, but unlikely, the picture she'd used to create the portal could have been taken anywhere. She jumped slightly as the thunder rumbled loudly overhead and turned to look at the rain again as lightning lit up the sky. "She could be on the other side of the country," she mumbled.
