Koda glanced up at James as he added more to her plate. She gave a tiny nod before digging into the new stack of pancakes.
"It was never on the required skills I had to learn," Talon told her, shifting his gaze when he heard James call. Standing, he followed Kelsa into the kitchen. It was good to find Koda there, already eating and seeming to be okay with things. She was still tense and wary, but at least she was eating. That was something. James smiled and took his place by the table. He already had his plate all set up. The orange juice was already at the table along with the syrup. "Dig in!" He said before grabbing the chocolate syrup and poured some over his pancakes. Kelsa nodded, "I see your point," She paused while she chewed on her omelette, "So I'll teach ya then!" She nodded and continued to eat at her pancakes and omelette, "I don't have expirience with wings, shoulnd't be too different from morphing into a tiger, right?"

Due to him keeping his phone in his hands, Rixon looked at the text as soon as his phone dinged. A smirk twisted his lips upward. Oh, you know what they say: There's no rest for the wicked. I don't even know what sleep is anymore. At the moment, I'm at the studio, supposedly in a meeting. However, a lot of people don't know how to show up on time. So, yeah, that's my life at the moment. What's going on with you?
As he glanced up from his phone, the man saw they were close to his parent's house. He would stop there first to drop off his luggage. Then he would make his way to Angelica's house. Joey knew this and was already turning off onto the smaller side road that would take them to his childhood home.
(Replies are short because I just got off work and I'm tired. Sorry.)
Mason nodded in agreement. He was aware of the space issues of their apartment, but who said they had to stay home? There had to be plenty of things they could do with the kids, all of them, as a fun little outing for a day. Luke and Allie at least would enjoy it.
Talon shrugged, not really offering much as far as his opinion on the subject. Truthfully, he didn't even know if he could morph, but he didn't want to completely dismiss the idea altogether. This was a new situation he was facing with zero experience. These two had been living in freedom for years. Surely there had to be something they could learn from them while they stayed here. "If it's possibly, I wouldn't mind learning. It might make hiding a bit easier," he pointed out before shoving a forkful of pancakes into his mouth. He hadn't added any syrup to his yet, wanting to see how he liked the food before adding anything else.

(Ugh, you poor thing. I thankfully had the day off today. At least more hours means more money?)
You're anything but wicked. You might be able to fool the paparazzi but we all know better. Paige smirked when she hit send, thinking of the bad boy persona she saw Rixon play when he performed or in his interviews she would watch if she saw it on TV and had nothing better to watch. She would often take unflattering pictures of his face while he was talking in the interviews and send him it just to see his reaction. She couldn't help but let out a chuckle as she thought back to her teasing her friend. She looked back at her phone and sent another line of text. Anyways, nothing much. I just finished buying groceries, I decided to make some spaghetti tonight.
She placed her phone on the kitchen counter because she wasn't expecting a fast response from Rixon. She bent over and grabbed a pot from one of her counters then she went to the sink, seeing Oliver standing on the counter and going to reach a paw into the sink. She smiled and rolled her eyes, "Fine Oliver. If you want to get wet, that's on you." She turned the faucet on and put water in the pot and when she was done she turned the water off and placed the pot on the counter to start boiling water. She then went to put her groceries away.

Tori knew he spoke the truth. They were still going to be there for one another, even if they could share a room. But it was the times when she was alone with her thoughts that worried her the most. What was she going to do if she had one of these moments and Mav couldn't come to help her? What would happen if she didn't have him talking her down from whatever her mind was telling her? She kept these thoughts to herself and tried to push them away. Instead, she tried to focus on the rhythm of the swaying and the sound of his breathing to calm her down enough so they could continue on with the rest of the day.
~*
Once he was on the couch, Celia hurried to close the door. There was no lock, or at least, not that she could see, so she dragged a small end table over to block the door. It might not keep anyone out, but at least they'd have warning if anyone was trying to enter. With that down, she returned to Lach. "Where's the worst of the wounds?" she asked, picking up his ba from Sam and going through it. She praised Toadsworth for packing the boy medical supplies, for no one else would have put them here. There were bandages and salves and herbs carefully wrapped. This was going to make things much easier.
~*
"I don't know about that," Phallon said. "I still like being around you, despite the cell and death threats over you. If Cheshire is right, and we have some kind of leverage on the Queen, I think we can still make the most of this."
~*
Celia sighed. "Have you learned nothing?" she asked. "I don't like this," she indicated to the houses and storefronts that littered the streets and the people that were slowing leaving their houses, "especially at the moment. I'm stir crazy and don't feel like being stopped every two seconds by someone I know. I just want to... to go somewhere, anywhere." (I'm sorry but I might be real slow over the next week or so cause I'm seeing relatives and there's basically no Internet there…) Maverick stayed silent, gently continuing the swaying rhythm while keeping Tori close to his body. After about two or three minutes the young man took a deep breath, before gently kissing Tori's head again. “Are you feeling any better baby?” he asked her softly. Honestly most of the time he stayed there he had been contemplating asking at all, 8n worry that she would think he was rushing her. Of course he most certainly wasn't that was just what he worried about. Well, one of the things. A lot about Tori worried him. Of all the times she had said that she didn't like this whole school idea, this was the only thing that actually made Mav wonder if he had made the wrong choice. .-=-.-=-. Lach watched the girl move carefully. His eyes were only half open, but he still tried to pay attention to her as she moved around before coming over to him. At which point he quietly answered her question. “here, and…here,” the boy said, starting by tracing part of the scar across his midsection, that he was sure would scar. He then followed up by very carefully putting his hand where his probably broken rib was. Coincidentally it was right where his heart was. Closing his eyes, the boy groaned quietly as he shifted positions to try and look at her better. “Why did you… come back?” he asked quietly. .-=-.-=-. Rico looked at her, trying to smile, though it wasn't quite a successful attempt. Instead, he simply squeezed her hand “Thank you Phallon. I-I hope you're right. I want to get us out of her safely. I guess… We do have something over her now which helps,” he said, pondering the idea to himself as he gazed at the ground. At least the Queen couldn't just kill them now. .-=-.-=-. Lachy thought about her words, looking around at the people and the houses, before his gaze turned to the girl herself. Namely her scar across her face. He had been trying to ignore it for Celia’s sake, but it was difficult, as it was quite obvious. She had a dpoint of course, he wouldn't want people asking questions all the time either. Slowly he shook his head and sighed, looking down for a moment. “Fine, we can go further afield. Just keep it within reason okay?” He said, looking back at the girl's face as he said the last part.

(Haha, yeah, that's the plus side of it.)
Rixon had to snort softly at that one. Yeah, there were two sides of him: one that was more or less fan service, and the other that was just as dorky and stupid as he was when he was still barely a teenager. That was the side of him that Paige knew and love. It was that side of him that always laughed the hardest whenever she would send him pictures of his weird faces from interviews. In a time where so many people liked to paint him in perfect light, it was refreshing to know there was still one person who brings to light all his embarrassing actions he wished he could forget. It was lovely. He waited, however, to reply to the text because Joey pulled up to his parents house. Thanking his driver and handing him some money to help pay for gas, he got out, unloaded his bags, and headed towards the house.
While the man hadn't been a resident here in a good many years, he still had a spare key to use for moments like these. Neither of his parents were home at the moment, which was a good thing. He wanted to surprise them as well, but first, he wanted to see Paige. Of course, he hadn't known she was going to be home now or not, but luck was with him. So, chucking his belongings into his old room, which hadn't really been touched at all by his parents, he finally replied to her text.
Spaghetti, huh? I know where I'm coming for dinner, haha, He typed, adding the emoji wearing sunglasses. Sending the first message, he quickly typed up and sent a second. That sounds a lot better than what I had last night. You know, microwavable meals aren't all they're cracked up to be. Placing his phone in his pocket, he pulled on a baseball cap and pair of sunglasses of his own before heading out the door once more. It was a poor disguise, but he had no time for anything more elaborate. He was far too excited to see Paige again.
"I guess it's as good a time as any," Talon agreed. The sooner he learned how to do it, the easier time they'll have. As he ate, he glanced over at Koda, noticing the way she wouldn't look up from her plate. Or, really, she wouldn't look up at Kelsa. Other than that, she seemed to be doing fine, or as fine as she has ever been. He just hoped Kelsa didn't take her behavior as offensive.
(It's okay, Cloud! I understand. Go have fun with your family. ^^ )
When he asked if she was okay, Tori nodded slowly. It had been a few minutes and the worst of the surge had passed. She wasn't 100% okay, but better. To prove her statement, she lifted her head from his chest to meet his gaze. I'll be fine, she promised, though she even wondered how true her signs were. This wasn't the end of the world, and once they got into the rhythm of things, she would feel more comfortable. It was just the time between then that would be a challenge.
~*
There was nothing she could do about his ribs, but Celia hoped that if she wrapped the bandages around him tight enough, it would help when he moved. She had noticed the wound that ran from shoulder to waist. While not deep or life threatening in itself, it was bleeding a lot. "I-I'm going to have to remove your shirt," she said. Whether it be by removing it the proper way or just straight up cutting it off. Some way, it had to be removed in order for her to tend to everything. The girl took out the bandages and a couple small jars of paste. This would help keep infection at bay, she knew. At his question, she paused. "Don't talk more than you have to," she told him, ignoring the question for the moment. Even if she did reply, he was so close to passing out, he might not have remember anything. "We'll talk later."
~*
"We just need to figure out what exactly we have as leverage," Phallon mused. Sure, she was her "weapon," but neither of them really knew what that would involve. Who knows what the Queen had planned for her, and without that knowledge, she couldn't really see just how much of an upper hand they had.
~*
Celia had to smirk a little. "You're in Underland. Reason has a different meaning than you must be used to," she told him, but didn't care to stay long on the subject. "Do I have permission to go then? Or do I need to give you step by step directions to approve before we go?"

As there was a pause in response to her text, Paige resumed cooking her dinner. Once the water began to boil in the pot she dumped the box of pasta in and stirred it so the pasta would not stick to the bottom of the pot. She placed the spoon on the counter next to her and pulled out another pot so she could make her sauce. Just as she was about to pull the ingredients from her bags she heard her phone buzz. She looked at it as it lit up and she reached over to read Rixon's text.
You know it's not that hard to cook some decent food for yourself. When was the last time you had a salad? Ate healthy for once? She typed back with her right hand and stirred the pasta again with her other hand. She put the spoon back down and sent her text before she took a picture of her kitchen stove with her grocery bag laying on its side with the stuff falling out and sent it. Where are you now anyway? I'm sure you can find a Panera wherever you're at. I also heard Chick Fil a has good salads.
It felt a little ironic. Paige was always the picky eater as a child and refused to eat anything that was green. She even refused to eat dyed green eggs and ham that was done by her elementary school to celebrate Dr. Suess's birthday. Anything green was immediately considered disgusting to her young self and she would throw a big fit over it. She couldn't help but smile at the thought of her six-year-old self crying over eggs and ham that were not the color she desired.

Define "healthy," Rixon typed in response. Do you think I have free time to cook. I'm an famous rock star. I have no time to cook for myself. The man had gotten pretty good at walking while texting. Sure, it was a skill many people acquired when obsessed with their phones, but he learned to do it for business. He had to check his phone regularly for information about meetings or practices and other stuff like that. If he didn't, he might miss a lot of important information. So while he walked down the streets, he dodged the few other pedestrians he passed with little more than a nod of acknowledgement. If he stopped to say more, he would risk being recognized.
At the picture of her kitchen he smiled. You're kitchen is a mess. You should really clean it up. Haha, but, no, Chik-fil-a is my life's blood. There's one right by the studio and has a third of my total earnings of my career. It's a lovely place with lovely people that I wish to hire for my personal use.

"Do I have permission to go then? Or do I need to give you step by step directions to approve before we go?" (Thanks! Who knows you may see me more. There's not much to do there unfortunately, but it'll be fun I'm sure. XD) Maverick looked into her eyes as she looked at him, searching for any sign that she wasn't telling the entire truth. He could see that she didn't seem totally okay, but he slowly nodded. Mav softly brushed Tori's hair out of her face, before leaning down and planting a kiss on her forehead. “So long as you're sure,” he said quietly, looking at her with a small warm smile. .-=-.-=-. Lach watched her now with half opened eyes as she went through his bag pulling out some gear from inside. He was thankful now that Toadsworth had packed some medical stuff for him. When Celia spoke about his shirt, it took him a few seconds to process her words, though he eventually heard her and nodded. “That's…fine. I-I think there's scissors in there,” he said, knowing she'd know he meant the bag. Then as she spoke again, he sighed but didn't respond. Lach knew she was right, but he was also near certain that she was trying to avoid his question. He doubted he would even remember the conversation though anyway so it may be a good thing. He wasn't even sure if he would stay conscious much longer. .-=-.-=-. Rico shrugged slightly, sighing. “that I-is the problem. I mean, all I can think of is that she thinks your the weapon,” he said quietly, tapping his foot a little. “I guess she can't make you do much if you don't want to… Maybe.” .-=-.-=-. Lach shrugged. He supposed she was right. Anything normal he was used to might be strange to Underland citizens. At her words the boy sent Celia a look, but there was a slight amused smile on his face. “As much as I may want the latter, you can just lead us where you want,” he told her.

(Haha, it's always fun visiting family.)
Tori's eyes fell closed when his lips pressed against her forehead. She sighed softly, feeling part of her anxiety slip away. Once more, she felt a little embarrassed about this whole scene. She wished this wouldn't happen, that Mav didn't have to calm her down every time. But that's what he got for sticking with her for so long. The girl nodded once more before leaning up to give him a quick kiss on the lips, hoping it would be enough to show him she would get over her mini-breakdown.
~*
Digging about in the bag, Celia found the scissors. With everything in hand, she walked over to the couch. There, she got to work without a word. Celia had spent plenty of time at Toadsworth's house, so she kind of got secondhand medical training. The man had wanted her to know how to patch herself up due to living alone and her traveling nature. So she didn't have a moment of hesitation as she cut the shirt free from Lach's body. He should have another in his bag, so she wasn't worried about trying to save it. With it and the cloak out of the way, she grabbed the bandages. "I need you to stay sitting up for me if you can," she told him, since she would need to wrap all of his torso.
~*
"I hope she doesn't expect me to know how to fight instinctively. She'll be sorely disappointed," Phallon said. She didn't know the first thing about how to be a "weapon" so whatever the Queen had in mind, she would have a long time before she knew what to do.
~*
"glad to see you've finally learned," Celia told him, because she was going to do that no matter what. Hearing him finally accept that was better. The girl set off down the streets, heading in a western direction. She walked just shy of a run. As much as she didn't mind the citizens here, she still didn't want to get stopped. So she hurried as best as she could to not draw attention to herself as she headed towards the edge of town.

“That’s an option,” Riley agreed. She knew Mason’s mom would love to see her grandchildren, and that would give them time to spend specifically with Elijah’s kids. “Really, Mason? A zoo? You know I’ll take you to the zoo whenever you want. I love the animals,” she said, her eyes sparkling at the thought of everything they could see at the zoo. She wasn’t able to ride as much as she used to, but her love for animals hadn’t faded. She nodddd and turned around to head back to where their towels rested.

Let me guess, you order 50 chicken sandwiches with about 200 chicken nuggets. Am I right? You should get a salad once in a while if you want to keep your rockstar image. Paige typed back with a half-smile on her face. I would like to see you come over and clean my place for me. Until then you're not allowed to complain. She added the winking emoji with its tongue sticking out and sent the text. She placed the phone back on the counter and resumed her cooking.

"Then can we go to the zoo? I want to see if we can free some of the lizards or birds," Mason said, laughing a bit as he splashed his feet in the water as they went. Of course, he wouldn't actually do such things, but it would be fun to see how close he could get to doing so. He was like a kid, but Riley didn’t mind. “Come on, Mason... be a man. If we release anything, it should be something cool like lions. Or, I mean, giraffes would be chill and still cool,” she pointed out. When they reached their towels, she bent down to pick them up and throw them over her husband’s head.

Koda paused, glancing up at James when he spoke. She knew he was trying to be polite, but it did nothing to stop the rise of panic. Over the years, she had learned that direct questions were never a good thing. If she answered wrong, she'd be hurt. If she answered correct, then the pain would only be put off a little longer. Silence did nothing to help her, but it helped get things over with faster.
"She, uh, doesn't speak much these days," Talon told them, trying not to make his words seem derogatory. It wasn't her fault she was so scared to speak. "It freaks her out."
"Lions would easily turn on us if we let them out. No, we go for for something cute and cuddle. That'll be the best way to go. Giraffes are good. Maybe the red pandas as well. Do you think we could sneak one of them home?" Mason mused.

Riley laughed and took his hand to head back to the hotel. “Maybe if we get a house. I think our landlord would figure out there’s a red oanda in the apartment. But a house, then we can bring one home and cuddle with it and make it our pet names Reggie,” she suggested.

"We need to hurry up and buy a house then," Mason said. When they made it back to where they left their beach towels. In one fell swoop, he gathered both of them up, shook off the sand, and then draped them over one arm. Once done, he took hold of Riley's hand once more and headed back to the hotel.
Glad that she no longer was in the certain of attention, Koda nodded in response to James suggestion.
Talon turned his gaze towards Kelsa, and, in the same hushed tone, replied, "About like you would imagine. Poorly. Feed us enough to keep us alive, tested on us until we couldn't last any longer, injected us with so many things until our bodies didn't feel like our own, and shoved us back into cages. Koda got the worst of it because she wasn't like the others. She was a sort of newer experiment than the rest of us.

(Lol yeah it is. XD) Maverick of course had told Tori before that he never minded when she had a breakdown, when he had to comfort the girl. In fact he was glad the he could. He would much rather that than having her deal with it all on her own. He obviously loved her after all, so if he could make her feel any better, he most certainly would. When she leaned up to him, Maverick smiled and met her halfway, happily returning the kiss. “Okay then Tori, I believe you,” he said softly, slowly blinking. “Do you want to go finish up for dinner?” Mav then asked. .-=-.-=-. Lach had his eyes closed for a moment as she cut the shirt from his body, only opening them a couple times to see her cutting it away. She was thankfully careful, and seemed to have put aside her dislike of touching him to do this, even with the blood on his body and soaked into his shirt. Thankfully for him though the cloak was mostly okay. Unfortunately though he was very underprepared, and actually didn't have a spare shirt, or really much with him at all. Then as she told him to sit up, again he took a moment before it sank it. Though when it did, he slowly nodded. Lach then shuffled, groaning as he used his shaky arms to push himself into a sitting position. Then he let out a loud sigh, taking a deep breath as the pain lessened a little to how it was a moment earlier. .-=-.-=-. Rico couldn't help but smile a little at her words, before shrugging. “Yeah, h-hopefully she'll see that you're of no use in a war and she'll just let us go,” he sId, though he had no faith that that would be the case. The Queen never simply let people go. The closest she did to that was killing people. .-=-.-=-. Lach chuckled and opened his mouth to say something witty in response, however he never got the chance as she started to hurry away from him. Quickly he went after her trying to match her pace as they went. He really wanted to tell her to slow down as she may be pushing herself, but he decided to say silent. It seemed she didn't quite like him as it was, so the boy didn't want to give her any more reason to keep that up. “Where are we going? “ he asked.

Koda listened as he talked. She kept her gaze on or near him, letting him know she was listening while she finished her meal. Sure, the conversation might not be much, but it was the least she could do when he wasn't trying to force her to talk.
"That's horrible," Talon muttered, shaking his head. "We were never put up into fights, thankfully, but that's not what made Koda different. Well, not entirely. She was the only deer that was in our section. Most of the others were predatory in nature. I and a lot of the others started out lives their at the School. They brought Koda in when she was ten. Kidnapped she kept telling me. They wanted to see if they could change someone's DNA if they never started out with it. It somewhat worked, but not to the scale I think they were hoping for. I guess that's why they let the Erasers let them terrorize her like they did."
Tori was glad he didn't push the subject. Things would be okay, she knew. If they weren't, then she would be sure to tell him. There was no way she was going to let things get as bad as they had been before. Yeah, we should, she signed, still not really wanting to leave his arms.
~*
Celia wasted no time. Knowing she was working with a limited time frame, she set to work cleaning and applying the salves to his wounds before wrapping his body. While Toadsworth spared them a gracious amount of bandages, she was careful to go lightly with them. If she had to keep wrapping his entire torso, then the bandages would be used up rather quickly. In about ten minutes, the girl tied the bandages off and stepped back. "Okay, you can rest now. I've done what I can," she told him.
~*
"I wonder how long it'll be before she decides to do something," Phallon said. They really didn't have a way to tell time while stuck in the cell, so she could only imagine how hard the wait would be.
~*
"Forest," Celia replied to him. She weaved her way around the houses, veering from the main road only when they came across a smaller side street. This one would take them out of the village towards the surrounding woodland and lake that the village was known for. It was a more indirect route, but she preferred it that way.

Then the boy carefully turned to lead her out of the room, though he was sure to keep his arm around her back, with his hand on her waist as he kept her close to his body. (Would you like to skip to till they're at Tori's place, or after and they're going to dinner?) .-=-.-=-. (Would you also like to skip here?) Lach had his eyes glazed over, looking at the ceiling while he felt Celia doing what she could to stitch him up. Eventually when she spoke, he slowly nodded, however the boy didn't bother laying back down on the couch. It really just wouldn't be long until he fell asleep in the position he was in now. If Celia moved him, it was up to her, but Lach couldn't get himself to do so. .-=-.-=-. That was something that Rico wasn't looking forward to either. The wait, the boring, worried wait to see what the Queen had in store for them. “I-I don't know. Knowing her, it could be hours to days,” he said quietly. .-=-.-=-. At her words Lachy slowed his pace and his smile faded a little. The forest? That certainly wasn't what he would consider ‘within reason’. Quickly however the boy shook his head to clear the thought, resuming the pace to catch up with Celia. He wouldn't pester her about it, so long as they were back in time.

(This was an actual dream I had but it was with Chris Pratt, it was so werid and funny!) James laughed, "I really loved that dream!" He frowned but then smiled right after, "Another weird thing was that when the actor died, I bust into his funeral and started to play on of the songs on the soundtrack of one of his movies while dressed up like his character." Kelsa gasped quietly. She silently dropped a fork onto her plate which was now empty, "I had a sister who was just like Koda, Her name was Alex. She had some horse genes in her and would let us predators torment her till she was curled up on the floor and crying. Some of my friends, my bother, and I protected her when the others did but she got worse treatment with the whitecoats..." She looked down, "Just before our escape she got sick, when we made it to the town, she didn't make it. SHe now lays near the river just like she wanted."

(I just haven’t really been feeling Mason and Riley here? So do you want to like skip to another scene or do a big skip to wrap them up and start a new plot? I’ll leave it up to you)

(I think skipping to dinner would be best since we'll pretty much have to skim over unpacking her stuff as well.)
~*
Celia saw that Lach was pretty much gone already. So, the girl carefully guided him back down into a lying position. Then took out a blanket from her bag and draped it over the boy. Now all she had to do was wait.
(Yep! To whenever he wakes up.)
~*
Phallon nodded and sighed. "All we can do is wait," she said, residing to their fate for the moment. With nothing more, she laid her head on his shoulder.
~*
It wasn't a long walk from to the forest since the town wasn't very huge. It was maybe five minutes out going in the direction the two were heading. Following the road, Celia relaxed a bit as the trees towered over her. Finally she was back in her element, back in the peace she had come to love and long for.
(That would be a dream I would love to have had. XD)
Koda's lips twitched upwards ever so slightly. Even though she wasn't sure who he was speaking of, but the way he spoke of the dream was amusing in itself.
That news didn't make Talon feel much better. That could have been Koda's fate. How many times had she been brought back exhausted or beaten to the point where he wondered if she would survive the night? It made him sure that he had made the right choice of escaping when they did. "I'm sorry to hear that," he murmured, unsure what else to say. "I wished I had had the chance to take some revenge on our way out, but I didn't want to risk it."
(I up for a skip. Hmmm, I feel like there needs to be something memorable happen on vacation while they're here, but I have no idea what that going be. If there's a little side plot you want to see, now's the chance. XD)

(I really have no idea? XD All I know is that I’ve just been struggling with replies lately and I’m not sure if I’ve completely lost muse for the plot or just this vacation scene?)
