Meerkat Out Of Camp - With Snake and Mirage
”Fish?” he said to Snake without turning his head. He was silent for a moment longer, ”Maybe. Even if there were fish we might not hunt them because being wind-runners, chasing prey on land is what we specialize in and is easier for us.” he told Snake politely. ”A roadrunner though. That would be fun.” he said to Snake.
OOC: I tried to align this right on a phone and don’t know if it will work. Sorry if it’s weird. I’ll fix it later. EDIT: Figured it out. It should look right now. Tags: randomcat5 Cloverwood

Mirage that Deceives the Eyes 𓂀
Near Eagle's Dip with Meerkat & Snake
Mirage paid little attention to the cat's idle chatter. He was only focused on picking up the scent of roadrunner and, if Endless Stars were so kind, a big, juicy jackrabbit. His nose was getting distracted by a gastly scent, one that made the hairs inside of it curl up.
"Coyote." Mirage thought to himself. He scanned the sands and spotted them up in the distance, drinking from the waters at Eagle's Dip; it was apparent that the coyotes hadn't become keen of the cat's presence, their disposition was calm and Mirage had not felt a chill up his spine.
"You two have noticed the coyotes up ahead, yes?" Mirage dulled his sharp tongue only slightly; he was unsure why the patrol had to talk so much, it annoyed him immensely. "I think it's best if we hunt somewhere else. I don't wish to trifle with them at this moment."
Mirage scanned the sands once more, scouting purposely in the exact opposite position of the canines. The breeze came towards the cats and carried with it the scent of lizards and grasshopper mice.
"Perhaps we should hunt near the cacti on the other side of camp." Mirage was growing impatient but did not show it entirely.

"Chasing prey on land is what we specialize in and is easier for us." Meerkat told him. Duh, of course. He should've remembered desert-runners tend to only hunt fast prey. Now both cats probably thought he was an idiot. If they didn't already think that. He felt the hairs on his neck slightly raise in alarm. Something was different than usual about Eagle's dip. Meerkat said something about a roadrunner being fun to catch and Snake wanted to answer him, but all Snake could do was look at Eagle's dip. There were coyotes. He was just about to open his mouth to say that, but Mirage cut him off. "You two have noticed the coyotes up ahead, yes?" Mirage said. He sounded kinda mad. Of course, Snake thought, it's literally my job to watch over the Tribe and it's members. But he didn't have the courage to say that aloud. Mirage then said it was best to hunt somewhere else. Snake breathed a sigh of relief. Those coyotes looked... different than usual and he didn't wanna fight with them unnecesarly. He never wanted to fight, actually. "Perhaps we should hunt near the cacti on the other side of camp." Mirage said. They sounded kinda ticked off, Snake hoped it wasn't because of his actions. His tail drooped down sadly. It probably was because of his actions. "Whatever you want, great idea." He meowed nervously. Thoses coyotes were bad news, he took a few deep breaths to steady himself and focus better on their surroundings. He was so nervous he was shivering slightly and had unsheathed his claws without noticing. At least the coyotes were far to the side of them and not directly in front of behind them. Small wins. He breathed out and tried to focus on both the surroundings and his patrolmates. (Ooc I wrote this on my phone so it might look weird. Cloverwood sharptail )

Shadow of Gliding Feather (Feather) | Near Breeze's Tree | Open!
It was hot in the desert, even in the patch of shade that Feather resided in. He silently cursed his black head fur, the unlucky part of him that he wished he didn't have. Letting out a small grumble, he rolled onto his back, hoping he would be gifted with a breeze of some sort. Why couldn't he have been born where there was an abundance of trees? He sent out a small prayer to the Tribe of Endless Stars, though he wasn't sure why he even tried. If they had gifted him with his father's unfortunate pelt color, why would they listen to him now?

It had been a long journey to Breeze´s Tree, but Rain was finally getting close to it. She normally wouldn´t venture this far from camp, but she was feeling lonely today and wanted to feel and see the clawmarks of those dearest to her, some of which had already passed on. Normally, elders wouldn´t leave camp without at least one cat to help them, but Rain wasn´t some helpless kit. She wasn´t even that old, just retired due to her leg. Sure she wasn´t as strong, fast or agile as she used to be, but she was sure she could protect herself if she needed to. probably. Leaving camp all alone so short after Sage had been mauled by those star-forsaken coyotes wasn´t a good or wise decision, but Rain felt like it had been too long since she had last stretched her paws, staying in camp for the entirety of storm-sands and the larger part of Cool-sands. She was getting tired, her leg was aching. She would rest for a short while in the shade of Breeze´s tree, then head back to camp. She spotted Feather sitting in the shade. She meowed a greeting and sat down next to him facing the treetrunk, making sure to give the tom plenty of space to stretch. ¨I didn´t expect anyone else to be here.¨ she mrowed kindly, ¨Are you okay? do you need anything?¨ she asked him. She hoped they could have a pleasant conversation with the young cat. Heb looked troubled to her. ( Dark)

Mirage that Deceives the Eyes 𓂀
At Cactus Garden with Meerkat & Snake
Mirage led his patrol members across the sands and to the cactus garden on the other side of camp. The cactus blossoms were freshly sprouted in all their pink splendor. The aroma of citrus wafted through the breeze and struck the tom's nose hard, making him purr to himself in pleasure.
"Suppose we solo hunt in this area? I have more successful hunts when I can think to myself." Mirage wanted this patrol to end, as he was feeling incredibly exhausted from the heat and from his lonely nights.
Mirage didn't wait for much of a response before detecting the scent of roadrunner. He promptly bolted from his position, hardly kicking up any sand in the process. This is when he felt most alive— wind splaying his whiskers to his cheeks, sands feeling soft and cold from his speed and prey just in reach. The thrill of the quick hunt was enough to quell his inner troubles for a moment.
The roadrunner was tackled and swiftly taken out by a bite to the nape. Mirage took a deep breath in, eating the roadrunner's scent with his nose. He kept the bird in his mouth and looked to the horizon, the sun glittering above it, making him squint. It was reaching nightfall and the already warm desert colors were cascaded in a beautiful sepia all around.
Mirage let his eyes close for a moment and basked in its comforting heat. He turned back to look at Snake and Meerkat.
"We shouldn't linger too much longer with the coyotes nearby." Mirage set down the roadrunner to speak for a moment. He felt a prickle up his pelt thinking about the coyotes. "I just have a bad feeling about staying out too late." His meow was earnest.

Shadow of Gliding Feather (Feather) | Near Breeze's Tree with Rain | tags: randomcat5
Deep in thought, Feather was oblivious to Rain's presence until the she-cat opened her mouth. "...do you need anything?" Startled, he flinched and slid out his claws. Upon realizing it was only his observant tribemate, he relaxed and sheathed his claws. "No, I don't need anything." He paused for a brief moment, checking his tone with the much older cat. Sure, he was in one of his moods, but he would never disrespect the elders. The tom's eyes drifted to Rain's wounded leg, which caused his tail to twitch with surprise. "You came all this way with your injured leg?" he pointed out. "It must be yowling at you to stop moving." This was Feather's way of being light-hearted. It wasn't much, but it was best if he tried.

Snake followed Mirage and Meerkat across the sand, until they arrived at the cactus garden. The blossoms were blooming a beautiful pink and smelled absolutely amazing! He heard Mirage purr softly. Maybe Mirage agreed with him. "Suppose we should solo-hunt? I have more succesful hunts when I can think to myself." "Sure, you're the..." Mirage had sprinted away before he had even said anything. "...Hunter."
Snake shrugged, if Mirage wanted to run off on their own then that was the plan. If Meerkat wanted to run a bit further away then that was fine too. They were just doing their job, leaving him alone in the desert for a few minutes shouldn't be a big deal. Suddenly, something near Mirage caught his attention. He snapped his head in the right direction and got to watch Mirage chase down a roadrunner at an incredible speed. He watched in amazement as Mirage tackled the roadrunner and swiftly ended it's life He agreed with Mirage's comment about not lingering longer and having a bad feeling. He felt bad too and wanted to return to camp as well. Answering was the most polite thing, so he mentally prepared for a second before saying: "yes, let's go."
He wanted to leave, but was too shy to lead the patrol, so he waited for any of the other cats to take charge so he could close the line. He tentatively took a step forwards, before deciding to just go for it and walk back to camp at the front. Walking at the front shouldn't be such a big deal for him, it was just a position, He thought nervously. He was still on edge when they got closer to camp. Rain watched Feather startle and unsheathe his claws. He just waited until he calmed down and put his claws away. She hadn't meant to startle the tom. She saw his eyes drift to her hind leg. "You came all this way with your injured leg?" Obviously, or she wouldn't be here. "It must be yowling at you to stop moving." She paused, then looked at her leg. Was it that obvious? Her leg looked pretty good, her fur well groomed. The only thing that looked odd was the slight bump of bone you could see. It was sweet the tom asked her that, so she answered him earnestly. "It does hurt, but not as much as being alone in my den, cooped up in camp hurts me. I was bored and feeling kind of down, so I came here to look at the clawmarks, sit in the shade and enjoy the view." She layed down on the sand to be more comfortable. She looked over at Feather. "How about you, why did you come all the way out here on your own?" She paused, "you don't have to answer that if you don't want to." She didn't want to pressure the broody-looking tom. She knew that the tom might've come here to be alone, to enjoy some peace and quiet. Rain wouldn't be able to leave him alone even if she wanted to. Her leg hurt too much from the long walk, she needed some rest first. (Ooc do you want this to take place before or after Leap had kits? (the timeline got fragmented because there was a timeskip in one timeline.) I don't mind either way Dark )

Sunteller Nursery & Camp Clearing {--} with Leap, Cloud, Flower & Sand Sunteller entered the nursery. The tiny kittens were already squeaking and moving in their nests. It scared Sunteller of how small they were. How were they going to survive if a nasty breeze of sickness entered the camp? Now wasn’t the time to think about that. These were her nieces and nephews. Her sisters kits. Sunteller wondered who was the father. There wasn’t many cats in the tribe that could be a father to the kittens. She sat down next to her sister, the sweet milky scent reminding her of her time in the nursery with Leap as kits with their mother, Sage. Sunteller was only 2 moons when she had been chosen to be the future leader of the tribe. At least these kittens didn’t have to face the hardships Sunteller had faced in her youth. Leap was still tired, and looked sickly. Sunteller wrinkled her nose at the smell of sickness. She could pass it on to her kits. “They’re beautiful.” Sunteller nosed her sister, waking her up. Leap looked to Sunteller, purring. “I know.” She paused, taking a rattling breath. “But they are so little.” Leap sighed. “All kits are small when they are born.” Sunteller reminded her. Leap only shrugged. “They can’t go outside yet.” The molly mewed, circling her kits back to her belly with her tail. “I have already named them,” She purred, showing them next to her belly. Sunteller looked curiously. A small tom, and 2 tiny molly-kits.
Leap looked to the tom, a fawn colored tom with faint speckles scattered around his pelt. “His name is Sand that Shifts under Paw.” She mewed, before coughing. Sunteller put her tail over her sister, who only continued. “I named him after the sands that we call home.” She looked to one of the mollies, a tiny she-kit that was a fawn-colored ticked tabby with black stripes. “Flower Floating over River.” She paused, then looked to Sunteller. “After the flower we found resting on Sage when we found her in the river.” She sighed, “It was an omen from the Star-Walkers. She wanted us to know she was safe.” Leap meowed, before turning to the smallest kit, Sunteller couldn’t believe she had ever seen a kit so small. Sunteller looked at her curiously. She had light blonde and ginger fur that looked like Sunteller herself. “Her name is Cloud of Empty Sky,” Leap stared into Sunteller’s eyes. “I named her after you. You only had your name for so long, but I wanted her to have your strength and determination. To me, you’re still Cloud Drifting across Sky.” The gray molly laid down next to Sunteller, and the ginger molly could eventually hear the faint snoring of her sister. She needed her rest, it wouldn’t be long until the kits were jumping and bugging every cat in the tribe. They were already starting to squeak and climb out of the nest. However, Sunteller knew they would still be great additions to the tribe someday.
[[ feel free to start making replies with the kits now! I put this up so you can do that. We will do some time/moon skips if you want until they are To-Bes. ]]

The newborn kit layed comfortably nested inbetween her littermates. Small One on one side and Big One on the other. She was so warm and comfortable. She felt Small One make a noise and move a little Forward. She let out a squeal in protest at the disruption. Her paw softly hit Big One on accident as she too tried to move closer to the Large Fur, who she just knew was her mother. Her mother was warm and comfortable, smelling of safety and love. She pressed her nose into soft fur. (ooc I know this is very different from my usual stuff, thought it would be fun to make Flower describe concepts and made-up names. (hey everyone!! im so excited the whole concept of desert cats is new to me. polarized imma join in this if thats ok) The soft murmuring nearby woke the pale she-cat from her slumber. These days all she seemed to do was eat and sleep but she didnt even have the will to do anything else. Her belly was so big and even breathing seemed to be harder. North Light in the Sky scowled; it wasnt fair that she-cats had to have kits. Why didnt toms share some of the duties? She had been in the nursery for nearly two moons now and- Oomf! Just as North was silently complaining, one of the kits kicked and soon, the tiny churning of paws erupted all over her belly. The kit-mother purred indulgently; her frustrations forgotten as she felt her kits bundle around her. They'll be strong members of the Tribe some day, she declared proudly. The murmurings that woke her up continued however and with a blink North realized that there was an extra cat in the nursery. The Sunteller was crouched beside her sister Leap. The older she-cat had recently given birth to a litter of three and the little ones had yet to open their eyes or even be named. With a huff, the soon to be mother rose to her paws and padded over to the other nest. "Their beautiful," she murmured gently, peering over Leap's sleeping form to watch the kittens squirm. She turned to look at the Tribe leader. "Has she thought of names? Its been a few days since they were born and they'll open their eyes before we know it."

✦ DAFFODIL IN EMPTY DESERT ✦ [ HEALER'S DEN ]
Same old sky. Same old ground. Same old cats. Same old weather. Same old Daffodil. And the same old cramps.
Daffodil really didn't feel like doing anything at all. She had a very bad cramp in her lower half and was with the healer for today. She was curled up, mrrowing in pain. She slowly lifted her head to see if anyone was coming to visit her. At the moment, there was no one, so she decided to lie back down and fall asleep, tapping her paws on the moss bed below her.

Shadow of Gliding Feather (Feather) | Breeze's Tree with Rain | tags: randomcat5 The tom pondered Rain's answer for a moment, then replied with a simple, "That makes sense." Feather could understand how being alone could change one's perspective. He couldn't really relate himself, since he was perfectly content with having alone time, but he understood. He felt a twinge of sympathy in his chest, but forgot about it when Rain spoke once more. Feather tilted his head at the she-cat's question about why he traveled to Breeze's Tree. That was something he had never contemplated that deeply. "I guess I enjoy the peace and the wind in my fur. It's quiet out here, and a good spot to scope out rabbits." The tom let out a small sigh and kneaded the dry sand below his paws. He was hesitant to speak his next sentence, for he didn't want to make the conversation awkward. "Do you ever miss fighting and hunting? I couldn't imagine sitting in a den doing nothing."

She squeezed between the tightly close palm trees to realize that Daffodil had her eyes shut. Not wanting to disturb her sleep, Dawn slowly backed up, only to step on a dry leaf with a loud crunch.

Sunteller Nursery {--} with North & Leap Sunteller looked at North, then nodded politely. “Yes, of course.” Sunteller knew the molly was going to have kits soon. Ray’s kits to be exact. Ray was an exceptional Desert-Runner, and Sunteller knew North was a great Stone-Claw. They would have strong kits. Just like Leap’s. Sunteller meowed to North, “These are her kits; Cloud, Flower & Sand.” She purred when speaking their names, but there was no more time to be wasted. There was much to be done around camp, of course. She said a final goodbye to North, then walked out of the nursery. She could hear the distant mews of cats in the healers den, and the sounds of a patrol entering camp. She should greet them on the way in, of course.
She walked to the entrance, remembering the recent patrol that had left. Mirage, Meerkat and Snake. Yet, there was something different about the smells in the air. Something wasn’t right. “Mirage?” She tried to call out to the young tom. Sunteller was met with silence. Until there was distant snarls and barks from the distant palm trees. She had no time to react, until one of the coyotes had ran out of the hidden growth, followed by many more, and had lunged for the leaders scruff. Sunteller let out a yowl of battle and fear, hoping to warn her tribe-mates before they entered camp. They only had so little time. She was thrown back, and even though her back stinged with pain, she ran as fast as she could back to camp. “Coyotes!”
[[ Sorry if this is too early, feel free to finish some conversations before joining in. Just trying to make clear how much of a danger the coyotes face to the tribe. ]]Leaf Healers Den {--} With Daffodil, Dawn & Fennec Leaf was busy moving his herbs in his den, while flicking his ears impatiently while Daffodil and Dawn chatted. Was there nothing he could do without peace and quiet? Yet he pushed the thought to the back of his head, and turned around to Fennec. “Could you give Daffodil some more of that Chaparral leaves?” He paused then nodded to his To-Be. “I’ll be back soon, I need to check on Leap. Some Buckwheat from the storage should do her some good.” He took the herb from his stock, and flicked his tail as he pushed carefully past the two cats at the entrance. The healers den wasn’t that big.
Leaf was met with something he had never seen in his lifetime in the clearing. On walking out of his den, he dropped his buckwheat. He growled back into the den, his voice trembling with fear. “Coyote attack! Daffodil, stay here! Fennec, grab the herbs we need for wounds!” He hoped his To-Be understood the right herbs they needed. But without a whisker of a thought, Leaf threw himself into battle. The tom wasn’t nearly as great as the other tribe cats at battling, but he wasn’t going to sit here and watch the cats he had helped in his tribe die to these blood-thirsty coyotes. But as he flailed his paws in an attempt at fighting, A thought bugged in his head. The nursery.

Daffodil took the Chaparral leaves and consumed them, before she heard Leaf talk about a coyote attack.
Daffodil turned her head quickly.
"WHAT THE WHAT?!" she yowled as she saw the creature outside, and Leaf flailing his paws at the Coyote. She looked to Dawn, then to Fennec, then to the coyote. "... Screw the cramp." she muttered as she suddenly darted outside and leapt high enough to knock one of the coyotes out in the head. She quickly then darted back into the medicine den, quickly enough that the coyotes wouldn't notice. When she felt it necessary, she darted back out again.
She did this process a few more times: Dart out, Knock out, Get out, before she genuinely felt tired and laid back in the medicine den, now caring about her cramp. She gave a look of: "Nothing happened."

"I'm always happy to help!" Dawn purred, her whiskers twitching with glee. She turned her gaze to Leaf as he made his departure to the nursery known. She was in the middle of turning back to Daffodil when she heard a yowl, announcing the presence of coyotes. "Oh, rabbitdung!" She hissed under her breath, her back fur bristling with apprehension. "I'll be right back!" the she-cat called over her shoulder as she bounded out of the den and leaped into battle. She hopped to Leaf's side as she could see him struggling to land a blow on the vicious animal. "Go! I've got this." Dawn lashed a paw at the coyote's muzzle.

So Feather enjoyed peace and quiet and found te tree to be a good place to spot some rabbits. She commited this to memory. She quite liked conversing with the tom, he was very pleasant company. "Do you ever miss fighting and hunting? I couldn't imagine sitting in a den doing nothing." Feather asked her. She pondered the question for a moment. ¨I guess I do miss hunting a little bit and I miss fighting even more. Which is why I try to do things, like take long walks and have conversations with my Tribemates, like the one we´re having right now. But I´ve never been a decent hunter and the trill of batle wore off a while ago.
A stone-claw has to have a lot of patience, your day-to-day life is mostly guarding the Tribe, interrupted by short moments of extreme action in battle. The fear and uncertainty as you launch into battle isn´t pleasant, though you get used to it after a while. I was always so proud to be able to fight, to be able to kill for my Tribe. I took down so many hostile creatures.
But at some point, I had to fight other cats. I´ve killed other cats in the heat of battle, even when I didn´t mean to. After you take the life of another cat you will never be able to go back to before. But I´m still proud I was able to protect my Tribe, even if I feel shame for feeling like I had to kill another to achieve that. So to answer your question: I kind of miss fighting, but I´m also happy I no longer have to be ready to leap into action at a moments notice. I do feel bad that I´m not contributing as much as before, but Sunteller was the one to suggest retirement to me, saying I had done enough. Even as an elder I do have the job of remembering and memorialising Suntribe´s past. I feel like I have experienced enough to last me the rest of my lifetime, I´m happy I get a respite from all that´s happened.¨ Rain was silent for a moment, thinking about her past. ¨That was quite a long anwer for such a short question, wasn´t it? I´m sorry if I´m boring you witha bunch of unnecesary information. I guess I´ve just been itching to talk about this but never found the right moment.¨ She looked at Feather kindly. ( Dark)

Floating Leaf of Acacia
location: camp, sunning on a rock | rank to-be, Sharp-Claw !open to interaction! also needs a mentor! Floating Leaf of Acacia had the day off from training as her mentor was off on their own patrol and tending to their duties. The to-be padded out of her shared den, tilting her pink nose skyward and checking for any hint of bird in the kill-pile. Acacia's ears perked up as she noticed a bright yellow goldfinch underneath a still-limp hare, but it wasn't the bird itself she was seeking. Sure, she could eat, but the apprentice had an eye for beauty. Feathers of all shades caught her eye, and she adored lining her tidy nest with shiny flecks of shiny, metallic rock buried just beneath a thick, cushiony layer of sedge and fescue. The feathers she plucked from her meals and tucked in an arrangement around the lining, but so far her design was incomplete. She had time, but she'd been working on her nest in the apprentice den for a few moons already. She was tired of training, but more than that, Acacia was tired of fighting. It felt like all the sharp-claw to-be's did, spar day in and out, or learn new moves. She felt strong, and her short stature proved helpful as she gathered her center of gravity with her thick muscles and became an unmovable bulwark, obviously to the extent that a small she-cat such as herself was limited to, but she was exceptional in her learned skills. After all, she couldn't run fast, she couldn't leap high... She was nimble, she was clever and she was ambitious. Acacia's nest was a representation of her standards; immaculation, perfection.
Acacia had a fresh, pale scar on the arch of her back, the fur just beginning to regrow, from only a few short weeks ago when her ambition to prove her hunting abilities had brought her just out of reach of a hungry eagle's talon. It had been a horrific event, and to escape with only one shallow yet serious cut had been a blessing. The following week Acacia had spent padding daily in and out of the healer's den, maintaining a low profile out of shame and embarrassment. She felt as though the whole Tribe had witnessed her failure; Acacia had to be even better now. But these things were not on the young to-be's mind as she nosed the hare out of the way in favor of the goldfinch, bringing her feathered prize to her favorite flat rock on the edge of the clearing near the elder's den, dropping it at her paws and licking her lips in anticipation. The altitude's breeze grazed the thin stripe of skin on her back and sent a shudder down her spine, causing her to lower herself into a loaf position, resting one small white paw to steady her bird as she tucked in to her meal, tucking her thin ears down in contentment.

Mirage that Deceives the Eyes 𓂀
At Camp with Sunteller, Leaf and Dawn
Mirage's pelt kept prickling on the walk back to camp. There was a tension that filled the air that he could not shake, making his intuition screech at him like a hawk.
"If I keep feeling this, I think I'll go mad—"
His thoughts were cut off by a yowl from Sunteller in the near distance, confirming his suspicions. Mirage bolted off towards the sound of his leader, immediately springing into action. He could not lose anyone else.
He ran across the sands with sights targeted on the camp entrance; empty thoughts set on only this goal in mind. As he raced inside, Mirage saw Sunteller struggling against the coyote with Leaf and Dawn at her side. His heart jumped in anxiety but with instincts kicking in.
Mirage pounced on and pinned the coyote's tail and dug his claws in hard, making the canine whince. Before the bengal tom knew exactly what he was doing, he lept atop the coyote's back and raked at its flank. The breeze brushed through his fur and the heat of the day seemed to melt off of him. He heard the gasps of his fellow Tribe-Mates but his thoughts remained in a focused trance.
Being as swift and nimble as Mirage came with its advantage but he lacked the Stone-Claw's strength and bulk. The coyote shook him off as easily as he jumped onto it. He hit the ground with a thud, feeling a sharp sting of pain in his back right leg.
"You got me but I could you too, you mangy mutt." The tom growled to himself.
He hissed and caterwauled to lure the coyote away when suddenly, Mirage's hairs stood on end. Were there more coming...?
Fennec Fox Burrowing at Dawn 𓃦
Inside Healer's Den with Daffodil & Leaf
Fennec barely remembered giving Daffodil the Chapparal leaves when Leaf hissed for him to prepare the herbs for an attack... A coyote attack?
"Are my ears hearing right?" Fennec's thoughts raced as he sprung up to assess the herb stock. His mind was split into two- one of confusion and one of focus. He had just helped Leap in her kitting and now suddenly being faced with the potential loss of life made his stomach do backflips.
"Let's see, let's see, okay.." Fennec pawed out Ocotillo Bark and scrounged up the last of the Horseweed. He put the bark to the side and focused on making the Horseweed into a poultice. The poultice would stop any bleeding right at the source and the bark would be used as a sort of bandage.
"Stopping the bleeding is most important, it certainly is." Fennec's inner monologue was focused but anxious. He was trying to keep himself calm and steady.
The dedicated To-Be grabbed Camphor and Agave Leaves after he was done making the poultice, for any other bodily injury that may be occuring outside. Stars forbid somecat got a broken bone or a dislocated shoulder.
Fennece finally grabbed Desert Windflower, the herb used for stress. The tom's own stress finally puddled in his heart. The chaotic sounds of battle finally reached through his mental clouds, making his ears flatten to his head briefly. His eyes shown with worry and fear, making him feel like a kit for a moment.
Fennec grabbed a single large Rhubard leaf, gently placing all the herbs inside the leaf and wrapping it up like a little package. With herb bundle in jaws, Fennec peered out the entrance of the Healer's Den and awaited for instruction. His ears were perked and posture straight, he would not show how anxious and scared he truly felt, for he had to be Rising Sun's Healer.

Sunteller Coyote Attack {--} with Mirage, Dawn, Leap & Fennec Sunteller hit the ground with a hard jolt. She barely found her footing until two of her loyal tribe-mates rushed to her side. Leaf on one, Dawn on the other. Sunteller managed to climb back up, her once ginger neck now stained with the color of battle. Sunteller flanked the two cats, pushing away the coyote. Yet, it seemed it wasn’t enough. That was until Mirage had came from behind, jumping onto the coyote’s back and sending it fleeing. It wasn’t until Mirage had fallen to the side, had Leaf nodded to the leader. “I’ll take care of him.” He had told her, rushing to Mirage’s side. He flicked his tail for his To-Be to come to him, “Bring the herbs, Fennec!” and Sunteller wished them luck as Fennec and Leaf made quick work with the hurt cats. Sunteller wasn’t going to give up so easily, but as she made a yowl of battle, she suddenly flicked her ears down in shock. More of them were coming.
Sunteller ran ahead, suddenly not feeling the pain in her neck. “We have to push them out! We can take them in battle outside of camp, but it will be of no use here!” She tried to meow to her tribe-mates, but it barely seemed to make any noise above the sound of battling cats and coyotes. She growled to herself, before pushing out of the crowd. She hissed as she watched 2 coyotes go after the nursery. She tried to find any cat to help her. It was no use. This was going to be her job alone. These were her kin, and no coyote was going to destroy another cat close to her. She ran claws first into the den, finding Leap hissing over her tiny, newborn kittens. Sunteller caught the sight of a massive wound on Leap’s flank. She made quick work of the coyote, her young, Stone-Claw skills working effectively on the mutt. She clawed at its flank, sending big tufts of fur flying into the air. Something made her stronger, a devotion to making sure none of the coyotes could kill her kin again. It wasn’t long until the mollies had scared away the coyotes, the two canines fleeing back into the battling crowd. Sunteller panted, trying to catch her breath. Under Leap’s belly, was 3, shivering kittens. They looked half-scared to death. She caught Leap’s gaze, and gave a swift nod. “I’ll get a healer.” Sunteller found herself at the entrance to the nursery. Leaf was busy treating another cat, he even looked half-beaten himself. Her gaze caught on the anxious To-Be. “Fennec!” She growled, trying to keep her tone clear. “Come quickly!”

Floating Leaf of Acacia
The coyotes had caught her entirely by surprise. She was in the middle of a nap when they'd emerged and the camp had been thrown into a wild frenzy. Acacia yelped and leapt toward a tree, gripping its dry, rough bark as tightly as she could as a silver coyote snapped at her swinging tail. She scampered higher in its spindly branches, her tail twitching wildly to maintain her balance. She stared wide-eyed down at the mangy, scrawny mutt, and after seeing the dip in its shoulders and the white on its face she squeezed her eyes shut and began to think. It's old, it's old, it's old... that means it's weak, right? That should make it an easy fight... right? She was smaller than the average cat, but she was a Sharp Claw To Be. It was time to prove her worth... Or at least, try to. Acacia bundled her haunches beneath her, steadying herself and unsheathing her claws, glaring down at the snarling coyote. She didn't leap, she didn't spring, no -- she dove from the tree, her front paws outstretched and sinking into the scruff of his neck. She twisted her body mid-air, slamming her back paws down on the canine's rear and forcing him to the ground. She didn't weigh enough to keep him down -- she knew she had to act fast. She pushed the scruff aside with her claws and attempted to deliver a killing blow, the way she had been taught with other cats in battle and with prey - with respect. The coyote was winded, and for a moment, Floating Leaf of Acacia relaxed. She had won -- but no! In a flash, the coyote had recovered his breath and turned on her with its yellow teeth bared. It latched onto her shoulder and threw her further into camp, where she lay stunned for a moment, struggling to scramble to her paws. She was terrified, her fur was bristled to twice her size. She held herself low to the ground, her eyes wide as the moon, staring in shock as the coyote approached to finish the job. It was then that Sunteller, Leaf, and Dawn fended him and the rest off, leaving the young to-be staring at the trio in wonder.

Cloud, with flower, sand, Leap and the sunteller After the coyote attack, cloud was terrified. It was so close to her, those sharp teeth, would have ripped her apart if Leap and the sunteller never scared it away. One of the two coyote had drooled on her, ugh all cloud could feel was the wet feeling of the drool, lucky after the attack, leap licked it away while the sunteller went to get a healer. Snakes hackles raised in alarm as he heard the yowls and the sounds of combat. He sprinted towards camp without a thought. He jumped onto the nearest coyote out of pure instinct, but missed.
His pupils narrowed as he realised what was going on. Had he just tried to jump onto a coyotes back? Had he lost his mind?! The coyote turned around, face twisted in a snarl. It leapt at him, knocking him off his paws. Trapped under the coyotes paws, he twisted wildly and managed to wiggle himself free. He fell to the side, losing fur in the process. He scrambled to his feet as the coyote turned and faced him. He charged formard, claw raking the coyote´s flank open. He jumped up at the coyotes neck.
He missed and his jaws closed around the side of the neck instead of the front. The coyote started trying to shacke him off, but Snake held on as best as he could. He fought of the panic as he felt his grip slip away. He pressed his claws into the coyote´s neck and pelt and moved them downwards, easily wounding his opponent. He was finally shaken of and landed in the sand. He got up and took a look at the coyote. It was mortally wounded and would not live much longer.
he was shaking from the shock, but there was no time. He ran towards his nearest Tribemate, trying to help them as best he could

Mirage that Deceives the Eyes 𓂀
At Camp during the Coyote Attack Mirage growled and whinced at Leaf and Fennec's caretaking. "I'll be fine." Mirage wearily stood up, paws shaking just a bit. "Go tend the others, I need to fight."
Mirage practically shooed the healers away in favor of pounding after the coyotes flooding into the camp; so few of them felt like so many. The bengal runner did not want to play patient while there was a Tribe to defend.
The tinge of blood in the air and energy of thick fear and confusion was dizzying. Mirage felt everything going in slow motion around him; the pain in his leg pounded beneath his fur and in his ears. He became aware of his condition and felt like he was in quicksand.
"I... I can save every...cat... I will save everycat." Mirage tried with all his might to keep running but promptly collapsed under the weight of his injury... finding himself unconscious amidst the chaos.
Fennec Fox Burrowing at Dawn 𓃦
At Camp during the Coyote Attack
Fennec gasped audibly at Mirage's collapse, the herb bundle laying beside him in tact.
"I... I could have helped him... I need to help him..." Fennec's world was turned upside down. He briefly felt the sense of a panic attack surging through his chest but snapped out of it as Sunteller's gravelled voice called his name.
He took a few herbs from the bundle, leaving the majority with Leaf and bounded across the clearing to Sunteller at the nursery. Fennec immediately assessed Sunteller up and down and gasped in shock.
"Sunteller, you're hurt." Fennec's meow was sincere and worried, He dropped the herbs carefully and scanned the injury quickly with his eyes. The smell of blood led his nose to Leap and her kits, the sight and smell of her intense flank injury called his attention.
Fennec knew by Sunteller's serious gaze that she wanted him to care for Leap and her kits before her. Wordlessly, the To-Be rushed over to Leap.
"Let me take a look." Fennec's sweet heart broke at the sight of the newborn kits so frightened. It made his brow tighten and eyes focused; he felt a surge of determination and love for his Tribe take hold of him.
"Eat this, Leap." Fennec placed the Desert Windflower in front of the molly, urging her to chew on it to ease her mind and body.
Then, wordlessly, the healer pawed and tongued the Horseweed poultice into Leap's wound, taking the precarious time to fine-claw the coyote hair and debris out of it. Preventing infection was of grave importance.
Fennec worked finely and with a quickness. He finished off the wound by stripping the Ocotillo bark and pressing it onto Leap's wound with two paws. The smell of coyote was diluted by the smell of medicine and Fennec's mind was clearing.
He had taken note of the kit's condition and they seemed untouched and healthy, though there was no telling the mental scars this incident would leave them...
"Leap." Fennec bowed his head respectfully at the older molly then turned his attention to Sunteller. "Allow me to assess your wound, please."
