Norwezreic: Home of the Dragon Riders ( open for joining! )

hey!!! i love dragons to bits i'd be so down to develop something like that 🥹

So i was thinking dragon riders, similar to the House of the Dragons. To keep things simpler, i was thinking 3 kingdoms

The Sun Kingdom : its always sunny here, the temperature here never gets below 70 degrees and can reach peak temps of 120 degrees.

The Winter Kingdom: Its eternal winter here its always cold. During summer times temps raise to about 65 degrees and the coldest reaching -35 dgrees.

The Sea Kingdom: this kingdom is a cluster of isle and its always covered in darker clouds and on rare occasionly the sun will shin brightly. Tempts here range from 45 degrees to 100 degrees at peak.

House of the Dragon...from GOT? Are we going with dragons being more beast-like or having personality/being able to communicate like in Eragon?

And I think those are all great ideas! Are you thinking each kingdom has a different dragon species? I'd really like to go with an eastern Asian dragon if possible- but I understand if that doesn't fit into your world! ^^

Do you already have ideas plot-wise for how the three kingdoms interact? Is there a war or competition going on? Or maybe something that brings them together?

i really like the bones of the plot & worldbuilding so far! a good ol' fantasy rp sounds super fun. what are you guys thinking for characters? it sounds like theres a person from each kingdom in the prophecy, and i like the sound of all three so i'll probably pick the one thats left over

i second noctis' questions, though i'm assuming that the chosen ones are unknown and that they meet by chance and its gradually revealed thru plot and such. it would make sense that the main three wouldnt begin immediately knowing (unless that'd work for their character? 👀)

that sounds good!! i like the bit about 5 of 8 kingdoms having already fallen, that makes the stakes pretty high from the get go.

the prophecy tattoo/birthmark idea is a cool one (if this were common knowledge throughout the kingdoms there could also be people who fake their tattoos which could be interesting). if you want other ideas it could be that theres forged weapons/armor only able to be wielded by the prophesied, a large "maze" built around the original kings grave that only opens itself to those worthy (but that doesnt stop others from trying), etc

oh i love how you combined these ideas!! maybe the tournament would take place during an annual festival that attracts people from all over?

or, if we're going without the trials idea, then it could be that the magical items are sealed away in each kingdom, and as the royals grow more and more desperate to find 'the chosen ones' they offer funding and rewards for parties questing for these item

I also hope for good chemistry between characters, so I'll post some ideas here so we can avoid maybe having two of the same! As in avoiding 'everyone has the same magic, background, or personality'

I'll just give them nicknames for now:


I have yet to work out what kind of magic or dragons they would have...Other than dragon specie that suits their nicknames: Stardust's is night/star themed and perhaps has scales that allow her to blend into the night sky while Featherlight's is feathered and has avian attributes. 

Neither of their magics would be offensive and are more supportive, but can be used creatively to best effect. 
Also~ I can easily switch them to frontliners if you guys would rather have the long-range characters. ^^

Okay so I have taken all of this into consideration and I love both the idea of regular folks trying to pretend they are the Chosen three and I also I love the idea of special weapons so here what I’ve come up:

The three Kingdoms each have weapons belonging to the first ever kings that sat those thrones. These weapons lay within the tomb of the kings and the tomb will only open for that kingdoms chosen.
The Sun Kingdom has the Swords of Light. Two short swords their hilts made of gold and their long blade made of silver. These swords allow the Chosen to tap into the magic of fire. They can manipulate fire , bright forth fire and even extinguish it.
The Sea Kingdoms has the Trident of Storms . It is a tall silver Trident with a snake like serpent that is wrapped around the prongs. The trident allows the Chosen to tap into water magic. They can manipulate it causing storm clouds to blow in and creating fierce storms , can even cause water to freeze and melt it.
The Winter Kingdom has the Bow of the Beast. This bow and its arrows are made of silver. The arrows have an automatic recall so you’ll never had to worry about running out. This bow allows the Chosen to take into animal magic. They can manipulate beasts and take control of their body’s to act and see as them. They can also speak to animals. And lastly they can call forth animals to fight with them.
Weapons

The Trails of the Chosen must be completed before they enter the tomb of the kings. This tournament has 3 games:

Find the Princess: a woman acting as princess will be hidden within the kingdom and players must find her and return her to the king unharmed. Players are allowed to steal the princess from competitors.

The Judgement: each player is handed a written document that states what the accused is being charged with. Players are then presented with 2 witnesses. The player must figure out if the accused is innocent or guilty of their actions. If player chooses wrong then they are dismissed. If they chose right then they proceed to the last trial and hardest trail.

The Maze of Time: a maze is laid before the competitors and they must not only get through it but survive it. The maze is under magic which can distort and manipulate the players mind. It can call forth vision of one’s past so real that you can smell, taste and feel it. Deadly beast also hide within the maze starving and ready for their meals. Players must quickly get through the maze before their mind is too heavily consumed by the magic and they become lost forever within the maze.

After these trails are completed the select few player will enter the tomb of the kings. They will rest their hands onto the stone made tombs. They will only open to the Chosen by unlocking the magic seal that keeps them shut.

Also the tattoo of the chosen is of a dragon that head rest upon their shoulder its snout brushing their collar bones. Its body is displayed on the upper arm and its tail wraps around the forearm area. The tattoo is the color of each house. A Red Dragon for the Sun. A Blue Dragon for the Sea. A White Dragon for Winter. ( no the color of the riders dragon does not have to match their actual dragon and the tattoos do not look like their dragon just a generic outline of a dragon )

I would like the Sun Kingdom, I have a character whipped up for it already so the two of you can decide who gets the other two kingdoms. Also considering you two are the only people here so far, we each need three characters. Your King , Your Rider and Your Dragon. Your king does not need very heavy thought put towards if you do not wish to but I would also like you both to create this kingdom of your choosing. If you have a better idea for your kingdoms : name , weapon , power, etc, please feel free to discuss it with me (: I’m literally open to ANYTHING as long as it doesn’t make you a god , I will be posting pictures of the weapons to give you reference of what they look like and if you’d like to change their look or abilities throw it at me !

Also yes , there will be other dragon riders but they will stand a rank below our Chosen Three. This is so incase anyone else decides to join we welcome them.

When it comes to magic , I would like it to specifically related to taking the path of Witch, Wizard or Warlock( which its really hard to find an existing one and very rarer to find one willing to teach it )( and these paths are 9 times out of 10 a dark path hence the Blood King ) . Elves have very very light magic such as light manipulation, can find familiars that they can only speak to, connection with nature so light element magic. Humans have no magic. Magic is a rare ability within this world but it’s not gone completely it just has been greatly faded in the history of this land. Thats kinda why I threw in the magic abilities the Chosen Three will receive upon getting their weapons. Or if you both have a suggestions on this please do not hesitate to throw your idea at me. Also if there is another race you'd like your character to be we can work out their magic abilities 
Character can have only 2 low magical abilities depending on the race.
Dragons also have 1 low magical ability ( example: blending into surroundings, acidic vomit, excreting poison gas from skin, mimicking sounds , etc )

And to make it interesting in the final battle the Blood King must be struck with all 3 of the Chosen's flames at once to die.

I wanted to ask if one could be the Chosen One and the other something of a tag-along who has a more supportive role? He doesn't need to be a Rider and he can even die later if it calls for it~

Okay, gotcha on the magic front! How are witches, wizards, and warlocks defined?
I think my protagonist will be an elf if I don't find something more interesting...

Okay, makes sense! I'm only thinking minor magic anyway, and maybe just for one character, but the nature of it depends on how you classify the different types! ^^

oh also! noctis, for your characters what general class are you going for? like knight, mage, prince, wizard, etc? just bc i'm starting to work on mine rn and i dont want to accidentally make them too similar ^^

I was thinking that Stardust would be the Chosen One (he definitely wouldn't be there otherwise pfft) while Featherlight kind of catches him whenever he runs away while also personally supplying the group with whatever they need; be it money, manpower, or other resources. I'm sure each kingdom has a vested interest in backing them, but for Featherlight it's more personal and he'd want to be in the mix and fighting with them.
That's only if MotherofSolace doesn't mind though~

Thanks! I'm still building the concept, but I think they'd have mostly avian and sea dragons, for which they're known for. But a history of being a conquering nation may introduce different species...
I know who Featherlight's parents are but I'm still working out how the kingdom is run. Either they stamp out individuality or embrace it due to dominating so many other cultures...

Ah, that sounds cool!! I forgot that I could probably add other mythical creatures too-
