Poppyshine-Camp-Vinedclaw(soot) Poppyshine had always been a clumsy cat, that his parents ahd been surprised when he choose to become a hunter, and he understood why, with how he fialed to always catch prey himself, often tripping on his own paws and alerting the prey of his prescence no matter how careful he tried to be. He figured that's why he adored Furzestomp, who worked out a way for him to hunt, pair hunting. " Yea...but I suppose it's the usual with me isn't it," he said, his tail flicking behind him. It had honestly been one of the tamer incidents he had to dela with, he was just grateful that it at least was not as embarrassing as it could have been if one of the older cats had been the one to witness his dilemma. " I remember that, still you made it out the other side and learned from it right? So it's still something to be proud of." He observed the scar quietly, he forgot that they both led such different lives being in different ranks. A soft smile on his face at the exchange of compliments. He nodded as she spoke, as he turned his gaze away soon seeing Thundersnap talking with another cat, Steelfish. " I suppose that is how it goes, even if he has all the support, if at the end of the games the Gods choose someone else, we have to respect their will," he said. " If Whimbrelstep gets out I'll gladly join you in cheering Thundersnap on." He thought it would be the best way to show his appreciation for Furzestomp to cheer on his former mentor's mate.

Ivypaw grinned at his sister happy to get included into the plan into bringing Stoatchase into the games. " We got you covered in a distraction," he said, his ears perking ads Flickerpaw was already relying a plan that she had. That was one of the many things Ivypaw liked about Flickerpaw, she was always quick at coming up with plans for fun things to do, or chaos, though to him that fell into the fun category. He recognized the rock Flickerpaw brought back immediately. While he had come up empty pawed, he was happy she found something. " As long as it doesn't get to out of control I'm so game for causing the fire over there," he said with a nod, his eyes shining in excitement. The idea would be perfect, everyone would be distracted by the flames giving Fawnpaw more then enough time to quickly place the token and rush in to help put out the fire. " Theatrics? You got it, I will be so amazing at it trust me, I picked up a thing or two watching Mintpaw practice, you can count on me," he said grinning to the two other apprentices. I'm sure burning my paw on the fire won't hurt to bad, and if it does, I'll just paly it up even more to really sell it and get everyone's eye son me! He thought to himself, determined to not let them down, completely missing the fact he was told to pretend to be burned.

Comfort. That's what she felt as she breathed in Windshear's scent, it was so familiar at this point that she could pick it out from anywhere in the grove, even if it were pouring rain. She couldn't help but purr even louder as he addressed her by his nickname for her. Their moment of comfortable quiet was something she wasn't sure they would get again. If Windshear were to win the games, he'd become leader and have so much more responsibilities than before. And if her growing suspicions were true, well they would have their paws full with more than just new responsibilities.
Her ears perked as he confessed his confidence in winning, but then quickly changed the subject before she could properly respond. Riverlily was again distracted by the licks to her forehead, her eyes instinctively closing with each swipe of his raspy tongue. "We could." She spoke softly, after first. "Or we could stay here, like this, until you need to be introduced."
Then she thought about it a moment longer and let out a little laugh. "I mean, we wouldn't really need an entertainers help. Or do you just not trust my creative skills? I'll have you know, Goosefreckle taught me how to weave flowers together a long time ago." Nimbuswhirl couldn't help but snort at his daughters response, feeling similarly to the flowers the entertainers had picked for today's events. Not to mention that the floral scents sometimes gave him a headache. "Nothing could look garish on you, kiddo. I'm sure we can find something to your taste." He moved to sit across from Cloudpaw, staring down at the flowers as well.
The fluffy tom squinted his amber eyes now, trying to make sense of the selection of flowers before them. He couldn't quite picture any combinations that might suit Cloudpaw the best. On a whim Nimbuswhirl started sorting out some little blue petals and flowers, thinking they would bring out the amber in her yellow eyes. Once he was finished with that his ears swiveled forward and he looked at the young molly.
"What about using some of these? They're kind of... pretty?" The problem was that he didn't know what else to pair them with, let alone how to get them in her fur or in a crown of some sort. Out of instinct he lifted his head and tried to spot Cherryash, Cloudpaw's mother, in the crowd. She wasn't an entertainer, but she had a far better vision than he, and her skill at decorating was better anyways. Dovepetal stared at the little kit for a moment, squinting her eyes slightly as she watched him look to his own flower crown before giving his answer. She wasn't quite convinced that was truly his favorite color, but it was what he'd asked for, and she wasn't about to argue with a kit. "Blue it is." Then she shifted and carefully dipped her tail tip into the blue paint.
The older molly stared down at the little kit, examining and admiring him, trying to find some kind of creative spark. She started out with some thin stripes up his forehead, and then the same pattern on his cheeks. A soft smile started to grace her features, her expression never looking so bright. It reminded her of when she got to paint Windingdeer for the first time, it was around the time Laurelstar was competing to become deputy.
It was such a happy memory, and for a moment she thought she saw Windingdeer transformed to Windingkit when she looked down at the little tom before her. Her chest tightened, her eyes suddenly stinging with tears that she was quick to blink away. Dovepetal cleared her throat, trying to get rid of the lump that was forming in her throat. She continued painting Hymnalkit, but her work wasn't as precise as before.
"There, all done. Matches your eyes." She spoke quickly, now wiping the paint off of her tail-tip with a leaf. Furzestomps
✦✦✦ With Whimbrelstep // Sand Furzestomp swore his cheeks were beginning to turn pink the moment his mate had called him handsome. She always knew what to say to make him feel all giddy and flustered, like he was an apprentice again pining after a molly way out of his league. That molly of course being Whimbrelstep. Sometimes he couldn't believe she had agreed to become his mate, let alone raise a family with him. He would forever be grateful she chose to stay by his side.
"It's just, I'd hate to ruin your gorgeous pelt! Especially knowing that you'll be standing in front of the entire clan looking as stunning as you do." Finally, Furzestomp closed the distance between them and rested his chin on the top of her head, nuzzling her and still trying to be careful not to ruin or smear anything.
He enjoyed being in her presence for a moment, nearly forgetting they were surrounded by others. The all white tom gave a small snort and looked down at her. "What have I been up to? Nothing as exciting as you, birdy. Though I did catch a salamander earlier. Almost got away from me though when it's tail fell right off! I was thinking about putting it in Saltspiral's nest." Furzestomp said with a chuckle, and he had the cheekiest grin on his face. If anyone were to wonder where their kits got their attitude from, they'd have to blind to not see that they took after their father.

RainpawWith Goosefreckle | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖
When Goosefreckle was finished decorating his pelt, Rainpaw took a second to admire his work. Vibrate shades of blues and greens popped vividly against his gray tabby coat. And he’d imagine that the designs on his face looked just as good. He certainly was putting himself at huge risk of ire from his clanmates since he was one of the few cats in MyrtleClan who still saw Okeaneos in a positive light after the floods. Yet that didn’t matter to him. He was old enough to have a backbone that can withstand any judgement. When one is so close to becoming a warrior, it was best not to cause a scene. Rainpaw turned his attention back to his father. “Thanks for your help, Goosefreckle,” he purred. He always felt bad that he never walked the same paw steps as his parents and he wondered if Goosefreckle felt the same. But if he thought back to his kithood, the signs were clear that Rainpaw was born to be a hunter. Always pouncing on tails and stalking leaves (he figured now that young Mintpaw would have some choice words for him if he ever learned how many leaves he had shredded as a kit), but if Goosefreckle had managed to convince his younger brother Sagekit to join him in dancing for the competitors, maybe he’d have a son who would take after him after all. “You think Sagekit would make a good entertainer like you?” Rainpaw asked, trying not to let his insecurities show too much.

Hyacinthsongs
✦✦✦ With Mothflutter // 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 Hyacinthsong wasn't used to feeling so unsure around anyone, then again she wasn't that social of a cat. Mothflutter, on the other hand, seemed so easy-going in comparison. He probably got along with just about any cat in the clan. "Thanks." She spoke quietly, barely louder than a whisper. Hyacinthsong wasn't used to compliments.
Then he smirked at her and she couldn't help the giggle that spilled from here lips, the noise nearly catching her off guard. Had she actually just giggled? "I don't know what charm you're talking about, but I guess I'll just have to take your word for it." She smiled at him and shifted to sit more comfortably. Hyacinthsong was glad that she had stopped to chat for a bit. She usually found clan festivities to be a little overwhelming, but Mothflutter was easy to talk to.
Now it was her turn to look around the camp, knowing of the cats who were competing, but she wouldn't say she was particularly close to any of them. "Thundersnap is really the only one, but I haven't spoken to him in quite a while." Then something registered in her brain and she quickly looked to Mothflutter, her eyes a bit wide. "Wait, you were there when he found his token? I overheard some of the apprentices talking about it." She leaned in close, dropping her voice to a whisper. "Did Astrapeos really strike the earth before Thundersnap and that's what created his token?" Orangesky gave a soft smile from her grandmother's compliment, and let her eyes fall shut as the elder molly began to weave the daffodil stem into her bright orange fur. "I did know that." She said with a soft chuckle, opening her eyes again to look for her aunts. It felt a little strange that Acaciaberry was only a couple moons older than her, and yet she was able to compete. If only Orangesky had the privilege of mentoring an apprentice then she would have gone looking for a token as well.
"Didn't you compete against Laurelstar for deputy?" She asked Honeydusk, now turning to face the light-furred elder once she had finished putting the flower in her fur. Then her smile turned a little sheepish and she tilted her head to the side, reaching up a paw to feel the flower she had picked out. "Thanks grandma, you really think so?" Orangesky asked with a gentle purr.
Then her smile faltered at her grandmother's question and she wasn't sure how to respond. At least not while they were at camp. Then again, everyone else seemed so busy getting ready that she doubted anyone would be listening in on their conversation. "For the most part, yes." She finally responded, though her front paws kneaded the ground a bit nervously. "Bayfeather and I had a talk, and I think we're friends now?" Beedance was still buzzing with excitement as she watched Hornetflower's expression change before she carefully answered each of her sister's questions. She just looked at her sister and listened in awe, so impressed that her siblings were brave enough to be competing at all. The smaller molly leaned into her Hornetflower's touch and let out a light laugh. "Yeah that sounds like Waspstreak and dad." She said with a purr.
Now Beedance took the time to look over her sister, noticing that she wasn't decorated at all. Her ears twitched and she tilted her head. "Did you want some fur paint, or some flowers before the introductions?" She asked, looking around for their kin. It looked like Sorrelmist was busy conversing with Shadowhush, and Sweetripple had just been approached by Ambrosiadew. "It looks like our kits are busy, but we could always find another entertainer to help? Or if you trust me I can try my best to make you look more radiant than you already are." Sweetripples
✦✦✦ With Ambrosiadew // soot Sweetripple giggled and waved Sorrelmist goodbye as her cousin ran off to go talk to Shadowhush. She made a note to tease her about it later, and get all the little details. The calico was sure she wouldn't even need to ask, her cousin would gladly tell her without any prompting from her. She was just glad they were able to finish decorating each other before she ran off.
The young entertainer was beautifully done up with a flower crown of ambrosia and fennel, using them to represent her father and aunt. Earlier she had asked Marigoldskip to braid her feathery tail, and Sorrelmist had delicately placed some forget-me-knots in the plaits. She even had some little white dots painted on the darker parts of her fur, making them look like little stars.
When she heard her name, she turned her head and immediately beamed at Ambrosiadew. Seeing him, though, she was suddenly taken aback and when she opened her mouth to respond she found herself rendered speechless. He was absolutely stunning. His accessories were simple but purposeful, and the butterfly wings on his cheeks were marvelous.
"A-Ambrosiadew!" She finally managed to stutter out, unsure if the excitement she was feeling was from seeing her really good friend, or from how handsome the tom looked. "Hi!"
Still a little unsure of how she felt, Sweetripple let muscle memory take over and gave a little laugh. "Yeah, right. At timing. Did you want to walk over together again?"

Skydancer, Solarflare - Camp - Open
Skydancer kept shooting glances towards the nest while next to him Solarflare was watching some of his clanmates instead. Both had decorated their pelts earlier, Skydancer having gone for darker and cooler colors, both for how he had painted his fur and what flowers he picked for both his pelt and his flower crown. Here and there he had used some brighter ones but not too bright to better go with the night theme he went for. He had gone all out for his decorations and he gladly would have done the same with Solarflare but his brother had insisted on a much simpler design, not wanting to grab so much attention, something he surely would have gotten if he let Skydancer have too much of a say. He had still been allowed to help though for he had an eye for such things and while Solarflare didn't stand out as much as Skydancer his decorations were still masterfully done, matching his pelt with their warm colors and making for a sunset theme.
Skydancer cast another glance at Laurelstar's nest, wondering how many cats would still enter. There wasn't much time left so whoever still wanted to participate would have to put in their tokens soon. But was there really any point? Now that Thundersnap had put in his token most probably thought they'd stand no chance anyway so why should they bother? It must be quite discouraging to know that one of the participants was favored by the gods. With that thought he turned to Solarflare who still seemed more interested in watching his clanmates. "You think anyone else will enter?" he asked.
Solarflare didn't turn to look at him immediately but he flicked his ears to show that he had heard. After a while he nodded. "I guess so," he said. "It's a big opportunity and there are plenty of cats who wouldn't let that slip away. Even if their chances are low, if they got their sights set on leadership they won't let anything sway them."
"I just don't see how anyone could still hope to win," Skydancer meowed. "This is a cat chosen by the gods we're talking about. The games are as good as decided."
Solarflare thought about that for a moment but then shook his head. "If that's the case then why even hold the games? If the gods really have already chosen a leader why didn't they just tell Puddleheart?"
"That's... a good point," Skydancer conceded, looking more thoughtful now. "But it's still a pretty clear sign. It's no coincidence that it was Thundersnap who found that rock. At the very least the gods must be favoring him in some way."
"They probably are. But that doesn't mean he will be picked as leader." Solarflare shot a quick glance towards the nest with the tokens. "He might have their favor for now but he might lose it again if he doesn't do well in the games and someone else proves themself instead." He narrowed his eyes at that. Was it okay to speak about the gods in such a way? Solarflare knew they could be quite fickle but that didn't mean one was supposed to say that out loud.
Noticing Solarflare's sudden discomfort Skydancer quickly lead the conversation in a safer direction. "You're right, he'll still has to show he's worthy of it," he meowed. Then he grinned at him. "But you know what? I think Thundersnap won't have to worry about that. Out of all the cats entering he has the best chances."
Solarflare chuckled at that. "Guess I don't have to ask who you want to win," he said. "But really, Thundersnap? I thought you'd rather cheer for one of the hunters."
Skydancer put on a conflicted expression and put a paw to his chest. "Oh believe me, it hurts me to betray my fellow hunters like this. The guilt is killing me. But alas, I can't avert my eyes from the truth, none of them would stand a chance against Thundersnap." Rolling his eyes Solarflare gave him a little shove and Skydancer quickly set down his paw again to not lose his balance. Then he laughed and said "Okay, but seriously, I really think he'd make it far in the games. Who could even keep up with him?"
"Not many, I guess," Solarflare said. "But compared to some of the other warriors Thundersnap is still pretty young. Cats like Cedarfrost have more experience and it will be tough to beat that."
"Of course you'd say that," Skydancer meowed with a hint of amusement. "So I guess you'll be cheering for him then?" Solarflare just nodded. "Thought so. But you should really consider rooting for Thundersnap instead. I bet many of the others will have plenty supporters and you just said he lacks experience. So not many cats might see him as a good option," he added jokingly.
"Ah, but doesn't he already have the gods on his side?" Solarflare shot back. "Well, then he won't need the support of mere mortals like us. No, I think I'm sticking with Cedarfrost."
Skydancer shook his head and, trying to sound bitter, he meowed "There's nothing I can say to convince you, isn't there?"
With a mock apologetic look Solarflare nodded. "There isn't, I made up my mind. As long as he's competing we won't be supporting the same cat."
"But you'll cheer for Thundersnap with me if Cedarfrost gets out, right?"
"Hm..." Solarflare looked down, eyes half-closed as if he had to seriously think about that. Then he looked back at Skydancer again, smiling. "No."
"Oh come on!" Skydancer laughed, raising a paw and whacking his brother over the ear before he could lean out of the way. "You're just saying stuff to disagree with me now."
"No I'm not," Solarflare meowed and turned away with a grin but he glanced at him out of the corner of his eye and quickly ducked out of the way when Skydancer, with a mock outraged "Why, you-!", lunged for him. Laughing he took a few steps away before Skydancer could try again and swiped at him, careful not to hit the wreath on his head.
"Okay, maybe we shouldn't fight with all that stuff on us," he said. "Do you really want the others to ask us what we did and we'll have to say we crushed our flowers because we played like kits?"
Skydancer had crouched down to leap at Solarflare again but at his words he nodded and sat back. "Hm, I'd like to keep my decorations as they are," he meowed. "Alright, no playing then. Not that I'm afraid of getting scolded though," he added purring. "I'll just say it was all your idea and as the older one what you say goes."
Solarflare let out a good natured snort at that. "Oh really now. Just earlier you insisted on me letting you help me with decorating my fur because you're the older one."
"I'm only the older one when it's convenient for me and you know that," Skydancer said, a comical smugness in his voice. "And unless I need you to take responsibility for my not so great choices I'll keep being the older one." Solarflare shook his head at him with a chuckle before both turned to watch the nest again, trying to guess who else would still try to enter the games.

Orchidbloom • Camp • with Soothsight (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢)
The games were occurring too fast for Orchidbloom. But their outcome didn't bother him anymore. Finally, Orchidbloom had begrudgingly found peace. It took a while to get there, but with some support from the elders, the tortoiseshell tom had been able to spend a pleasant day outside his nest, and his dreams became a little sweeter.
Now that he was more open-minded, the elder humored himself listening to clan gossip. Just like the seasonal traditions, the more colorful characters in the clan were adorned with equally colorful accessories. Some things always stayed the same. Orchidbloom unfurled himself from their resting position and hauled over to a heap of flowers and herbs. Those decorations looked most intriguing…perhaps he could find a charm or two.
As Orchidbloom rummaged through the discarded supplies, his heart swelled when he reached out towards a laurel wreath. It was too good a coincidence to be true. Granted, it was brittle and the leaves withered around the edges, but the elder would wear it with dignity.
In fact, he was so proud of his find that he wished to show it off to the nearest cat in his vicinity. Fortunately, the tom spotted the russet pelt of his old mentor Soothsight. Orchidbloom gently carried the wreath in his jaw and wandered back to a scoop of earth near the elder's den. The tortoiseshell elder puffed out his chest cheerfully as if he just caught his first piece of fresh-kill. But the question persisted: how would Orchidbloom get this wreath wrapped around his neck?

Vinedclaw
Vinedclaw shrugs, “I think being predictable isn’t bad. Being too unpredictable can lead to trouble.” She says, in an attempt to cheer them up. She knows their clumsiness has always been a struggle for Poppyshine. It certainly is when it comes to hunting.
At the mention, she nods, “I did. And you learned how to continue as a hunter, which I think is quite impressive.” She replies with a slow flick of her fluffy tail.
Vinedclaw mews in whole hearted agreement, “Exactly. Even if he has the entire clans favor, who is best by the gods, is best for the clan.” She says, ears a turning back some. “Oh! Of course, and if Thundersnap doesn’t make it as far as she does, expect me to cheer along with you, friend.” Glancing back at the nest, she quirks a curious look. “It is a bit curious, what Thundersnap was given. Perhaps no other tokens would have suited him? For it to be Gos given..”

Ambrosiadew
Camp-|- With Sweetripple ( 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢) “That’s me.” He says with a smile, and a flickered ear. Dipping a head in greeting. Sweetripple has been a close friend of his, they’re almost the same exact age after all, they didn’t have a chance to not spend time together in the nursery, let alone when they both followed the same path. The call to entertain, dazzle.. and bring those thoughts and questions weaved by beautiful words. Maybe even make mourning feel like less of a burden, and more a joy for their fallen.
Ambrosiadew gave a chatter of amusement, “of course I do, Sweetripple.” He replies easily, smoothly, eyes still softly drooped as they usually are, even if they’re noticeably more bright, and cheered by his friend’s presence. They’re not really late yet- if a bit on time actually. Some cats were probably just there already, if he reasons right.
He tilts his head as he examines his friends decorations. He normally utilizes the langue of flowers more, given by grace, but he felt more inclined to just be bright today, and let the crown of laurels on his head speak for itself.
He grinned, “Good picks with your florals. You’re father- he’s competing, right? I think I remember seeing him put in a token of his own.” He asks, excited at the thought.
While he knows the cat is a total grump, he’s spent enough time around Waspstreak to know he’s also a full blown sweetheart underneath. He’s pretty sure the tom’s given him the side eye about every time they’ve talked, but the cat hasn’t fooled him which the way he looks at his daughter so adoringly. It’s frankly, admirable, and adorable.

Aspectpetal
Aspectpetal had frankly, been a bit busy and distracted to get too done and dazzled up. But she still took some time with the left over light to do so. After having finished cleaning her dirty paws up, and any twigs that got tangled in her fur. Cringing only slightly at the taste (she’s rather used to cleaning such things from her fur), she decorated herself with the god of Skafoteos in mind, a fire lily behind one of her ears, and hiss symbol on her chest fur.
She thought it was a bit bright, almost straining her eyes at the bright red and orange from the flower in the corner of her peripheral. But it suited the god well she thinks, she she’s rather happy with it.
With Ìliosikieos’ light fading, she took to the crowds waiting for Puddleheart to take to the high risen rock, of sturdy structures, the very one that carried the very weight of Lightningstar himself.
She paused when she sat down near the back of the crowd, a bit too late to have gotten a front row view, and quirked an ear at the cat she’s set herself by.
Stoatchase. “Oh- hey there! Excited for the games? I’ve been thinking of the different rounds- they have different ones right? I think. I’ve been debating who I’m giving my favor to, I.. don’t really know yet.” She says casually, going for light, random conversation. She hasn’t been around Stoatchase enough to know if small talk isn’t his thing or not..

Cherryash
Cherryash had been on the somewhat lackluster business end all day. Not much to do, not much she needed. She had scouted today, a few simple paths, just to make sure nothing took today as an opportunity to ruin the day more than the recent flood had.
Today is the day the start for a new leader, and she’s.. well, not really sure what to say about that. So she focuses on, because why not, getting a crown of purple lilacs to top her head, and dashes of purple paint all over herself.
Cherryash is almost instantly nervous- I’d a bit embarrassed by the look, her paws shuffled in a familiar energy from it.
But everyone else- especially the entertainers, are so bright and noticeable, well, she’s sure she can’t be that eye catching. Hopefully.
She’d been on her way to take a look at Laurelstar’s nest, she heard whispers of a few notable, and curious tokens. ‘God given’, is what she heard. But she’d paused at a familiar pair of voices, one bringing affection, and the other and odd feeling she can’t quite place words on.
She tilts her head when she catches Nimbuswhirl’s eye, her ears perking as she takes a look over what they’re doing. Flowers?
Oh! She smiles lightly, quickly making her way over on little legs. She purrs her daughter’s name, “Cloudpaw, hey.” She says, before turning to Nimbuswhirl with a nod, “Hello. Ah- are you two working on your decorations?” She asks, looking to Cloudpaw, “Oh- blue? That would suit your fur super well. That’s a beautiful set.”

HYMNALKIT " I was following the pack all swallowed in their coats, with scarves of red tied 'round their throats. "
Painting Stand/Clearing | Camp | Closed for Interaction! (Interacting w/ Dovepetal (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 ))
Hymnalkit's round eyes blinked rarely as his fur was being painted, occasionally tapping his little paw-beans whenever he could. Once he was finished, his pupils seemed to dilate in happiness the kit attempted to hug Dovepetal's forearm without smudging the paint on him. He never felt so grateful.
"Thank you!" he thanked. Flickeringburrow always taught him manners, and he knew this was the right time to say it. It was like you were talking to a baby angel.
FLICKERINGBURROW " Alone... at the edge of a universe humming a tune... "
Clearing | Camp | Open for Interaction! (N/A)
Flickeringburrow couldn't help but feel awed by Hymnalkit's happiness and gratefulness for Dovepetal. Her tail slowly swished as she watched the pair, her face beaming in happiness. She thought she felt cats accidentally brush against her, but that didn't matter.
She raised her kit right.
CRESCENTDAWN " She's so soft like silk chiffon... "
Elder's Den | Camp | Open for Interaction! (N/A)
Crescentdawn's eyes slowly blinked awake.
Awake she was.
The agender elder slowly awoke, stretching. She got up and noticed... something was off. She felt as if there were items in her fur. She looked at her pelt, and noticed that there were moonflower petals in her fur, and a large, blooming moonflower rested on her right ear. She was very confused. Who could've possibly put it in her fur? Sure, it was a very nice thing to do. Saves her time from cracking her joints. But... who did that?

Stoatchase Camp | With Aspectpetal (soot )
The air was a swirl of sweet flowers and the odd smell of the paints. Distracting, really, drowning out distance smells of rabbits and squirrels and little birds that lingered just outside of camp. Stoatchase had always had a sensitive nose, and he tilted his head down, rubbing it with a paw. It was often overwhelming to him, so many scents, coupled with all the different smells of his clanmates and whatever carried on the breeze, sometimes even the salty air of the ocean. And now, a new scent. Very close. Taking his paw off his nose, he looked up to see a scout molly, one he didn’t really talk to at all. Aspectpetal, looking quite bright with the red-oranges of her flowers and paint. And she was talking to him. Mind starting to rile with panic, he did his best to keep his fur lying flat, trying to figure out words in an order that actually made sense for conversation. Even if he’d wished she had chosen literally anyone else to talk to, he was still a bit.. Happy that someone was talking to him. “Uh… ehn– Excited? Uh… I mean, y-yes, this- this is good time, um..” He glanced around. Everyone else seemed to be having conversation so easily. Why didn’t they ever struggle with a basic sentence? “Uh..haven’t seen games… myself so. Ehm..” Favor? That was something he was unsure of. He knew of the games but not much about what was included, aside from the fact that one challenge was hunting related. “Um… I guess to.. Um.. probably one of the hunters… or- or uh.. Thundersnap.. He’s um.. yeah.” His paw flexed and unsheathed its claws then relaxed and sheathed them once more, in a slow pattern against the ground, open-shut-open-shut. Trying to keep himself at least marginally together. Gods, he must look pathetic. “Um… You’re not .. joining? You seem um.. Like you could do well, I-I think.”

Aspectpetal
Aspectpetal’s nose twitched slightly at the pure scent of prey all over Stoatchase, her ears peeking some. He is a hunter, but his scent absolutely reeks of the fact. Not that she minds much, but she’s realizing half of the prey from the clan gives a similar scent.
He seems like he’s in the forest hunting more than in camp.
Aspectpetal is a bit curious- but.. he’s probabaly just not a very sociable cat? Maybe he’s a very devoted hunter?
Her thought seems confirmed when he… tries to speak.
She just smiles some, “Uh- yeah! It is a mighty good time.” Aspectpetal says, waiting patiently. She has all day, not like she’s in the games herself.
At the mentions of never seeing the games, she nods, “Oh! Yeah, me neither. Considering I only joined the clan kind.. recently? It’s been a while now, but still, I had to get accustomed to.” She pauses, gesturing to all the cats, with different paints and decorations like herself.
Aspectpetal shrugs, “He does seem ‘yeah’, I’m thinking maybe Cedarfrost myself. Thought Thundersnap is up there.” She says with a cheered flick of her tail.
Aspectpetal pauses, a somewhat flustered look, “Competing? Ah- I’m not really up for it. I’m more handy with my paws than being all, that great of a scout. I mean- I can do the job, but I’m not spectacular.” She says a bit faltered.
She perks an ear, “What about you? You’re fantastic hunter. You’d excel with the first game. Even the- I forgot what it’s called specifically but the round with hide and seek?” She suggests, curious. He seems nervous to Asphodel and back, but he seems like a spectacular hunter.

Soothsight sat just outside of the elder's den, squinting at everyone joining in the festivities. At some point someone had put a simple daisy chain on the top of his head, but he couldn't recall who it was. Perhaps Dovepetal, or maybe one of his other kin. Shadowhush came to mind the most when he was the most lucid. His great granddaughter looked the most like his daughter, Gemsbrook. He tried looking for her in the elders den the last few days, but Dovepetal kept having to gently remind him about the flood. Still, the old tom tried his best to stay chipper. He was still surrounded by generations of his own kin. There was no need to be sad when he'd see his deceased loved ones in StarClan soon enough.
He caught some movement out of the corner of his eyes, and even through his failing vision he could spot the pelt of his old apprentice a million miles away. And just like that he felt like a young scout again. Soothsight continues to squint, even as he moves closer to Orchidbloom. His eyesight really wasn't what it used to be.
"Well, whatcha come to show me there, Orchidpaw?" From Soothsight's point of view, the elder tortoiseshell had transformed into his apprentice days right in front of his eyes, and he really did believe they were younger versions of themselves. "Oh! A laurel wreath, how clever. For your sister I presume?" Without asking, Soothsight gingerly took the wreath from the proud looking Orchidbloom and expertly weaved it around his neck, as if reading the other toms mind.
"My kits haven't even come to me for help in their decorations yet. Isn't that rude?" He jokingly asked and then let out a deep laugh, that ended in a bit of a wheeze. "Anyways, are you excited to watch your first games? They can be pretty exciting with the right players." Then the aging russet tom leaned in close and gave Orchidbloom a gentle nudge. "My vote is on Crystalshard. I think she'd make a great leader one day. Gods know Pomegranatefur sure thinks so too." Dovepetals
✦✦✦ With Hymnalkit and Flickeringburrrow // boragesky Dovepetal blinked rapidly, staring down at Hymnalkit has he wrapped his tiny arms around her thin foreleg. The image alone would've melted anyone's heart, but Dovepetal just stared down at him, unsure what to do. She sat frozen, until her first instinct was to shake him off. Fortunately she continued to sit still, knowing that if she pushed a kit off then it would look terribly bad for her image. Not to mention that Dovepetal wasn't that cruel.
"You're... welcome." She said, trying to force her voice to not sound so awkward. The mostly white and brown tabby looked around, trying to wordlessly signal help from anyone she could make eye contact with. That's when she spotted Flickeringburrow watching, a proud look on her face that only a mother could possess. Her heart stung, an ache she thought she had healed from seasons ago. "Hang on tight." She told the little kit before making her way over to the young queen, Hymnalkit still wrapped around her leg.
"I believe this is yours." She told Flickeringburrow as she sat down and extended her front paw, the gray pointed kit barely dangling from the ground now if he managed to clutch on to her leg still. Sweetripples
✦✦✦ With Ambrosiadew // soot With her heart still racing, Sweetripple smiled still and the familiar feelings of comfort started to seep in. She welcomed the emotion, knowing that she was only happy to see her friend. It was only his dashing appearance that had caught her off guard and made her chest flutter. Just that, and nothing else. Once he had confirmed that he did in fact want to walk together, she stood and slowly began to walk towards where they should be gathering before the introductions.
"Thanks! I'm really glad you like them!" Sweetripple replied excitedly, stopping for a moment to try and look up at here flower crown. She had to flick her head to keep one of the stalks from falling in her face.
"Yes! He is competing, and I'm sooo excited for him!" An affectionate gleam in her eyes always seemed to sparkle every time Sweetripple got to talking about her father with anyone. "Even if he doesn't make it far in the games, I know he'll be happy he tried." She said with a sigh, then suddenly giggled and leaned in. "Between you and me, I'm really hoping he becomes our next leader. I know he'll make a good one, even if others don't believe it."
Then Sweetripple leaned back and thought for a moment. "Actually a lot of my family is competing. Hornetflower, my aunt, put in a token. And everyone's been buzzing about Thundersnap's token!"

Ambrosiadew
Camp -|- Sweetripple ( 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢) Ambrosiadew snorted at Sweetripple’s movement. “Such a dashing, graceful movement.” The orange tom said with a leisurely gait. His tail following him with its own idle, habitually hypnotizing movement.
His ears dip down for a moment before he straightens them again. “Yeah? Okay stellar, figured you’d convince him to either way. I’m excited to see him.” Ambrosiadew replies, a small chatter emitting him his throat. He agrees whole heartedly with what she says, “Honestly? I think the tom has a pretty decent chance.” He says honestly, even with the other competitors- Like Cedarfrost, Thundersnap, Flamedancer, Archsong, the hoard of others he’s too lazy to name. He thinks Waspstreak determination to do good on Sweetripple’s behalf will get him somewhere. And even if not, he’ll happily cheer him and Archsong on happily.
Ambrosiadew grins, “I’d happily write ballads and stories of The Streaking Wasp, and his Daughter, his Encouragement, and her name is Sweet.” He says, eyes already squinting at the thought of such a ballad.
A drip of Sweet water, and suddenly the Wasp’s Stinger was kept at bay.
Ambrosiadew quirked an ear, laughing some, “That’s right, isn’t it? I don’t have a lick of family joining on my end. I’m excited to see all of them compete really. It’s hard to choose who I’m giving my favor.” He replies, pausing at the mention of Thundersnap’s token.“Ah! Yeah- have you heard what it is? I managed to see the tom himself put it in. It’s a Furies damned lightning strike struck in stone. Whoever gets to introduce him is gonna have a fun time considering it’s apparently gods given.” He says, all cheered and excited.

Whimbrelstep camp — accompanied by: Furzestomp she/her - hunter Whimbrelstep couldn't imagine her life without Furzestomp and she was so glad she had told him about entering the Games. His love and support meant more than anything to her, especially now. She knew being his mate and having a family with him was the best decision she had ever made.
"Oh, it's just paint! It'll come off during the first game anyways. Don't worry about it so much," she teased before letting out a mrrow of amusement.
As soon as Furzestomp had rested his chin on the top of her head and nuzzled her, Whimbrelstep nuzzled him back gently. Even if the paint on her fur did get messed up, she could always ask some cat to fix it. What mattered most to her was the large white tom in front of her. She had completely forgotten about their clanmates who were causing commotion around camp. "A salamander? Those are always fun to hunt, I was busy catching stinky fish with Brightpaw," she meowed with a chuckle. Her pale blue eyes glinted with mischief. "I think you should put it in Saltspiral's nest! I can only imagine her reaction."
The brown spotted tabby thought for a moment before suddenly blurting out, "Furzestomp, how far do you think I will make it in the Games?" She glanced at him sincerely, awaiting his answer. "Do you think I will be eliminated quickly?"

Pantherprowl camp — accompanied by: Peachblossom he/him - hunter Hearing Drifttumble's name didn't surprise Pantherprowl, it just made him feel a bit jealous of the entertainer. Lots of the younger hunters, scouts, fighters, and even the medicine cat were friends with Drifttumble. Pantherprowl, on the other hand, had never seeked the tom out despite noticing that he and Puddleheart spent some time together recently. Yet he wondered what Drifttumble wanted to talk to Puddleheart about. Was it about the Games or something more secretive? The urge to ask Peachblossom was growing, but it felt like it wasn't the black tom's place to ask either. But what did the entertainer want with the medicine cat? Was it really that important and it couldn't it wait?
"I didn't know Drifttumble was a friend of Puddleheart's, but I suppose it does help to have a large tom with the decorations," the hunter meowed before coming to a pause to think.
Peachblossom's question was quite a good one, one that Pantherprowl himself could admit that he simply didn't want his black fur to be painted with such vivid colors. On top of that, he wasn't an entertainer nor was he in the Games. What was the point of wearing paint when there wasn't a reason to? "I chose not to have any paint on my fur because I'm not doing anything special. I'm not an entertainer and I'm not able to enter the Games," he explained to Peachblossom. With a roll of his eyes, he added, "The rules are so stupid. I'm definitely leader material!"
His green eyes widened at the cream feline's offering. He was taken aback by it yet he didn't completely understand why Peachblossom wanted to help him, but he appreciated it. "Are you sure? A pale blue or soft purple on my fur?" he questioned, wary of Peachblossom's color choices. If anything, Pantherprowl would choose darker colors. He realized that if Peachblossom helped him, he could show his support for Sablefrost. "Actually, yeah, I'd like that."
The hunter grinned slyly at the cream feline when asked if he liked their paint. "I think it looks really good on you," he complimented, his gaze lingering on Peachblossom's cream and purple fur. "Your fur really stands out-- it's... pretty."

Quailfeather ~ camp ~ open for interaction ~
Quailfeather sat silently weaving herself a blue and orange flower crown with flower stems. Unlike some cats not competing in the games Quail had no doubts of wether she should have one on or not being a confident as she was she thought the idea of "not deserving one" was the dumbest thing ever. Quail glanced at the nest longingly of course she wanted to put in a token of her own but nope why would the gods ever give her an apprentice when she needed one. Seeing the marbled rock Thundersnap found made her grin in admiration If they let me I could've found a good one too.
Coalfrost ~ camp ~ Nightwatcher
Coalfrost lay outside the warriors grooming himself so he at least looked presentable for the show and the start of the games as he finished up he looked over his shoulder satisfied at his work as if his pelt was a work of art. Walking with his chin high he grabbed two mice from the prey pile and trotted over to where his brother Nightwatcher was sitting. "Here, want this?" Coal dropped one of the mice at his half-brother's paws. "Are you doing all the ridiculous paint and stuff? I see no need since I don't have anything to do with the games really," the small tom declared not caring if it sounded offensive as usual.

Stoatchase Camp | With Aspectpetal (soot )
He was… surprised by her patience with him. That she was actually continuing the chat after hearing him struggle to speak. Stoatchase found himself staring for a bit as she talked. Despite the fact that eyes on him felt unsettling and made his pelt itch, he’d never really acknowledged that he stared more than most. Her voice was nice. He liked other cats voices a lot, especially when they were rambling and… well, not expecting him to talk back. Well, she expected him to (this was meant to be a conversation and all), he was sure, but… Still. A nice voice. ‘Joined recently’? Had he missed that or something? He wasn’t exactly sure how he could have, but looking back he didn’t exactly recall how long she had been in the clan. Usually he was out hunting so he had probably just missed her joining the clan and thought she had always been there. His fur raised on the back of his shoulders, bristling, and he looked away as soon as the words ‘ fantastic hunter’ came out of her mouth. He didn’t deserve that. It was only his duty, his main purpose. To do any less would be wasteful of his very breath, wasn’t it? Still, he couldn’t deny the fact that the praise felt… nice. “...I .. don’t think that’s um… Accurate. I’m just.. Just another hunter.” He murmured, eyes firmly planted on the ground. “B-Besides I… would make a fool of myself, tr- trying to be leader… and don’t want.. Don’t want anyone to look at me...”

gonna wait until rainy replies with blue to stag and journey before i do my journey reply :3 SORRELMIST - - ★
with [ SHADOWHUSH ] at [ CAMP ] | 𝕊’𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 Sorrelmist's eyes glittered as she sat in front of Shadowhush again, nodding her head eagerly to the idea. "But of course. You'll look so much prettier though." The calico molly giggled softly and dipped her paw pads into some thick purple paint before she got to work on decorating Shadowhush in gorgeous vibrant purples that beautifully contrasted the dark mollies fur. She drew swirls and lines and dots, each in places to signify a hero of old, just as her love had suggested. Little hums of tunes left the molly as she worked, paws never quite stopping until she finished working with the paint.
Stepping back slowly, Sorrelmist eyed her handy work before putting up a paw, one knuckle extended to tell Shadowhush to wait for a moment. Slipping away to the supplies, the young molly picked out beautiful purple flowers that she had braided effortlessly into a beautiful crown. They were purple harberlea rhodopensis, beautiful in color and so soft to the touch. She then pulled out a vine that she had attached the beautiful purple petals of a lilac to before returning to Shadowhush.
"These are harberlea rhodopensis. They're gorgeous and fresh- I picked them in hopes that I'd be able to decorate you." Sorrelmist mewed softly, almost shyly. When she worked, her usual chatter switch seemed to be turned off, focused on her art. She lifted the crown in her paws, and lean up on her haunches to place the crown on Shadowhush's head gently. Then, the entertainer grabbed the vines of lilac petals and easily looped them around each of the others legs, before she stepped back and admired her.
And wow, was Sorrelmist so incredibly blown away with how gorgeous the other looked. The purples looked beyond gorgeous, and the eyes of blue popped so beautifully. She stepped closer, a purr beginning to rumble in her throat. "I believe you mist as well be a new hero... one so absurdly gorgeous that even the gods would be jealous of such beauty. Surely I could even use you as an inspiration for a new tale of a hero." Her meow was almost breathless as she walked a circle around Shadowhush before gently pressing her nose to the mollies cheek. "I do hope you like it, perhaps you could check yourself out in one of the nearby puddles, if you wish to see." She suggested.
Sorrelmist truly couldn't take her eyes off of Shadowhush. She was beyond infatuated and her heart raced. But, alas, she didn't want this feeling to leave, either. So, she welcomed it with open arms and a purr in her throat.

FIREBLAZE - - ★
Fireblaze blinked as he curled his tail in thought before purring softly, nodding to the idea. He was only really welcoming the idea of getting decorated purely because Stormshriek was suggesting it. With a flick of his tail, he looked around. "That might be lovely, actually. Maybe just a little, I don't want to stand out much. And maybe a leaf crown, if we can make one?" He asked softly. He felt like his whole pelt was on fire - no pun intended - with the compliment he just barely managed to catch. But given his training as a scout, Fireblaze was able to catch even the quietest of sounds when he really focused.
And boy, was the flame colored tom focused on Stormshriek. The way the other seemed to react. It had him questioning if maybe Stormshriek didn't want to be around him? No... that's absurd. Stormshriek is my friend. My very, incredibly handsome, and amazingly talented friend. He wouldn't want me to just go away... Right? The doubts seemed to flood his mind, much like they did when he was younger- before the flood and before he had saved Stormshriek. He couldn't help but recall the sudden change between them after they touched and reached safety. Almost like some sort of spell had been cast between the pair and destined the two for something more.
Eventually, though, Fireblaze stood and nudged Stormshriek with his shoulder. "We should probably do it now, though. Puddleheart's introduction could happen any minute, and I don't want to miss that. Sorrelfrost and Sweetripple put on amazing performances together, after all. And, not to mention, they have Ambrosiadew joining them. I wonder what they have in store." Fireblaze purred gently before allowing Stormshriek to guide him around so he could be decorated.

WINDSHEAR - - ★
with [ RIVERLILY ] at [ CAMP ] | 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Windshear eyed his mate for a moment, playfully considering his options before smiling in reply. He nuzzled his head against her and sighed gently. "Fair point, my little minnow. I just know I would trade life to stay her with you forever, you know. Even Astrapeos wouldn't be able to pry me from you, my love." The tom mewed gently, licking the mollies head a few times with a soft sigh. "Sometimes I pray to the gods that they'll allow us a day to just us, where nothing else matters. But I fear all others would get sick of us." He joked softly before looking down at Riverlily, his own blue-green eyes glittering softly. He always felt so beyond relaxed around his mate. She truly brought some sort of peace with her that would ease his doubts and uncertainties. If he had any doubts about his running for leader before, they sure seemed all but forgotten now as soon as the scent of his mate reached his nostrils. Albeit different, it was still her.
Then, the idea of being decorated was being discussed, and well, Windshear was not one to disagree with his love. He nudged her with his shoulder before playfully rolling his eyes. "Oh please, darling. You know I think highly of you in every aspect. I know for a fact you'd be able to decorate us both to look our very bests. There is absolutely no flaws in anything you do." The gray tabby tom mewed gently, eying her with a serious look on his face. He couldn't help but smile at her though. Riverlily was like his rock, and he needed her in almost every aspect.
"But, if you truly are serious. I wouldn't mind having you paint me up a little. Perhaps in your favorite color, and you in mine? I believe we'd look amazing." Windshear suggested gently, brushing the back of his paw against his mates cheek gently in an affectionate movement. "What ever you desire to do, I will gladly follow." He finished, purring deeply as he watched Riverlily with interest.

Thornfang, Paleflame (briefly) - Camp - Sealtooth (Sand )Both cats meowed a greeting when Sealtooth approached them. At his dismissal of her Paleflame swiftly rose to her paws and nodded, eyes twinkling with amusement. "Oh, I'm sure there are," she meowed. While with most of her clanmates she only teased them for fun there were a few, who had earned her scorn one way or another, like Thornfang with his low opinion of anyone who wasn't a Fighter. But either way, she'd definitely find someone to annoy or to just have a normal conversation with. With a smile she turned to Thornfang and for a moment she smirked at his relief. "Well aren't you a lucky one," she said sweetly. "Someone actually came to your rescue. Now, be good and say thank you to him, alright? Surely you still remember you manners." She turned to leave but after a few steps she looked back at him over her shoulder. "Oh, and best of luck in the Games, Thorny," she purred. "You'll need it." And with that she padded off, quite pleased with herself for once again having gotten on Thornfang's last nerve. Thornfang gritted his teeth when Paleflame wished him good luck and glared at her. From any other cat it wouldn't have been too bad. But he knew that this wasn't a "Your opponents are pretty tough, so don't let your guard down"-thing. No, from Paleflame it quite literally meant "The only way you can advance to the next rounds is by pure luck because you sure have no other means to win." For a moment he watched her go, a quiet snarl escaping him at her disguised insult. Once she was gone Thornfang turned to Sealtooth and relaxed a little. He nodded at his words, about him entering the games. "Thanks," he meowed, glad that Sealtooth had some faith in him. "It won't be easy with cats like Thundersnap and Cedarfrost entering but I wouldn't have it any other way." As much as he was wary of them Thornfang was glad that they were participating as well. The Games would be underwhelming if only incapable cats entered. No challenge at all. It would be good to be up against those two, most of the others weren't worth wasting a thought on. "When I was out sparring with Riverlily I found a broken tooth of a predator," he then said. "I can't be entirely sure but I believe it's the fang of a golden jackal. It must have broken off in a fight. There were also some small bits of fur in that area. Oh, and there's no need to worry," he added quickly. "There was hardly any scent of jackals and what we found was very stale. We also made sure to check the surrounding parts so there is no danger of getting surprised by jackals or other predators right now."

Sablefrost Sablefrost froze when Cloverpounce complimented her laugh. Cloverpounce…thought she had a nice laugh?
That alone made her laugh a little more and Sablefrost quickly looked away, pawing anxiously at the ground. ”Oh, uh…thanks, I think. I don’t think anyone’s told me that before.” Granted, if anyone else did compliment her laugh, there was a good chance Sablefrost would’ve looked at them with a tired expression and then walked away.
She didn’t handle compliments very well, and she was aware of that.
Sablefrost cleared her throat a little and glanced up at Cloverpounce. ”You do too, by the way. I hear it often around camp,” she explained and tipped her head to the side. ”You certainly make it easy to find you that way.” Her voice was light, a little more at ease now that they had gotten into a good rhythm for a conversation.
Then, Sablefrost looked away again and sighed, shrugging slightly. ”We do have a lot of good candidates for leader,” she agreed. ”And I do trust Puddleheart. He’s young, but he’s capable. I remember when Pomegranatefur brought him back to camp, it was right after Silhouettewing had told me she was expecting, though she wasn’t ready to move in to the nursery yet.”
Sablefrost paused at the mention of her sister and took a breath, forcing herself to keep going. ”I suppose it’s a good thing that the gods chose him. I’m not sure where MyrtleClan would be right now without a leader, deputy, or medicine cat.”
Puddleheart was young yes, but Sablefrost had to trust that he was wise for his age. Wise and capable, just like Pomegranatefur taught him.

Puddleheart Puddleheart couldn’t help but smile a little when he approached Drifttumble, the young fighter always seemed to have a rather sunny outlook, and that was something Puddleheart appreciated greatly.
Even if he was a little concerned with how often Drifttumble seemed to find himself in the medicine cat den.
When Drifttumble asked about the paint, Puddleheart hummed thoughtfully and tipped his head to the side, taking in every splash of blue that decorated the silver tom’s pelt.
It reminded him a little bit of the story he had heard from Pomegranatefur, of the titan who ruled over the rivers and was the embodiment of the world river himself.
”Your decorations look very nice,” Puddleheart decided with a small nod of his head, smiling at Drifttumble. ”You look like a titan, let’s hope the gods don’t mistake you for one and throw you into Tartarus with the rest of them—“ Puddleheart froze, his eyes widening a little. Why did he say that? That was a terrible compliment.
”I mean, that won’t happen, you’re obviously just a cat—not, not just a cat like it’s a bad thing, I just mean—“ Okay Puddleheart, maybe it would be best to stop talking.
Puddleheart took a breath and bowed his head. ”You look nice,” he explained, hoping to salvage some part of the conversation. ”Blue suits you.”

Thundersnap Camp | With Steelfish (soot) Thundersnap watched Steelfish carefully, listening to him. He made it seem quite simple. “Just ask.” As if it would be fine.
Thundersnap was a proud tom, and he liked to think that he was confident in himself, but when it came to Steelfish, things were different.
He couldn’t just ask him “do you like me” and sit there and wait for the potential rejection. If it was anyone else, Thundersnap wouldn’t care. But it wasn’t anyone else, it was Steelfish.
Thundersnap hummed and looked away, choosing to focus entirely on the second half of what Steelfish had said. ”I admire that you speak your mind, even when we disagree,” Thundersnap told him, glancing back at Steelfish for a brief moment. ”And I suppose it doesn’t exactly matter how everyone chooses to honor Laurelstar, so long as that’s what they’re doing…”
Thundersnap trailed off, his eyes trailing around the camp. ”Even if I don’t personally agree with much of this…” he grumbled, wrinkling his nose slightly. It wasn’t that Thundersnap didn’t enjoy the festivities, he loved a good celebration.
It was that he couldn’t help but wonder if he was the only one truly taking this seriously. To compete in the games was an honor, to try for a chance to become leader was an honor, to lead was an honor.
An honor that Thundersnap would gladly accept.

Fawnpaw Fawnpaw paused for a second when Flickerpaw brought out the rock. She frowned slightly, suddenly unsure. Fire was dangerous, that’s why it was only the elders and the medicine cat who were taught how to handle it.
But…but they really did need a distraction, and so long as it was manageable, then hopefully it would be fine.
Right?
Right?
Fawnpaw sent a quick prayer to Skafoteos, praying that the god of fire himself would help them.
”Alright,” Fawnpaw agreed after a moment. ”Just make sure that no one gets hurt, alright?” she questioned, looking between the two of them. ”I don’t think the gods will be pleased with us if we burn the camp down.”
Hoping both Flickerpaw and Ivypaw understood that they needed to be careful, Fawnpaw delicately picked up the skull in her jaws and poked her head out of camp, waiting for a moment before she flicked her tail, gesturing for Flickerpaw and Ivypaw to go.

Goosefreckle Goosefreckle purred proudly as he looked at his son. Rainpaw would be a full fledged hunter soon, and Goosefreckle wasn’t sure how much longer he would have to sit here, decorating his son’s fur. When Rainpaw became a full hunter, how often would he see him?
However often it was, it would still not be often enough.
Goosefreckle paused a little when Rainpaw asked about Sagekit and he couldn’t help but purr slightly in amusement. ”Oh, I don’t know about that, he would make an excellent entertainer, but I don’t think that’s what he wants to do,” Goosefreckle explained and tipped his head to the side as he looked at Rainpaw.
”I think that Sagekit will excel at whatever he chooses to do,” Goosespeckle explained and smiled at Rainpaw. ”And I will be just as proud of him if he chooses to be a fighter or an entertainer as I would if he chooses to be something else, just like his brother,” Goosefreckle explained and reached his paw forward to gently poke Rainpaw’s nose, leaving a small spot of blue paint on it.

Mothflutter Camp | With Hyacinthsong (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢) Mothflutter watched Hyacinthsong intently, his stomach fluttering when she giggled. He had always admired her, she was only a few moons older than him and when they were apprentices, he had often looked up to her for her skill.
However, lately, that admiration had bloomed into something else, something he didn’t quite feel comfortable saying yet, not even in his head.
However, it certainly made the sound of her laughter all the more pleasant.
Mothflutter let out a gentle purr and stepped closer to her. ”The charm that earns a laugh like that from someone like you,” he explained, voice soft as he looked at her, head tilted ever so slightly to the side. ”It’s a very pretty laugh by the way,” he added.
Maybe it was easier to say these things all dressed up like this, after lightly making fun of himself, it made it all feel less real, but Mothflutter didn’t mind it in this case.
When Hyacinthsong asked about Thundersnap’s token, Mothflutter lightly rolled his eyes and shook his head. ”The apprentices exaggerate,” he explained, flicking his tail. ”Though it was…mystical in a way, he slipped and nearly fell into Astrapeos’ Summit when a large rock saved him, he pulled it out and it was his token,” Mothflutter explained and cast his gaze toward the nest.
He wasn’t sure what to think of it yet, but it certainly seemed hard to deny that Thundersnap had won the gods favor.
Mothflutter sighed a little. ”It’s hard not to think the gods have already chosen their favorite after something like that.”
