thank u to those who liked my post to remind me So my theory: instead of having dual consciousness in some weird DID imitation, what if Moonpaw did absorb a littermate in the womb, but in doing so also "absorbed" the littermate's destiny as her own? I'm calling way back to Code of the Clans, and the story of Smallstar, Wolfheart, and Runningstorm, the three WindClan kits who drowned in the gorge due to RiverClan's refusal to rescue them. The story reveals that cats can have destinies that are never realized; in this case, three kits who were destined to be warriors (and a leader) but never became so due to their untimely death. As Smallstar (as a spirit) says, "We are the cats that would have been." (I am aware that COTC's canon is considered dubious now, but bear with me). Moonpaw, if she is a chimera, could have at some point absorbed a littermate in the womb. What if that littermate was meant to be born and have a destiny, but perished before it could be realized, just like Smallstar and his siblings? What if Moonpaw, as a chimeric combination of two cats, has two different destinies that she is pulled toward fulfilling, but cannot fulfill both of them because they are at odds? E.g., feeling called to be both a warrior and a medicine cat. Or feeling called to be both villain and hero. I'm skeptical that the editors would think of something like this, but it would be such a cool use of her chimeric appearance and mystery surrounding her destiny. I do so greatly love this idea though! And it makes a wonderful call-back to COTC. Unfortunately, I doubt the Editors have read the guidebooks as they’re the ones that call the shots now a days and I don’t have too much faith in them. (If the guidebooks were released in a mega guide like Enter the Clans, they’d be able to acknowledge them though, at least more easily, imo.) But Moonpaw being drawn to two destinies, one clearly not meant for her not being forced due to her sibling’s influence. Maybe the voice is attached to whatever her sibling was going to get into? A guide for them but not guiding them as Moonpaw is the one in the driver’s seat.

That’s an awesome idea, very creative and interesting. I doubt the Erins would pull it off, but I think this is my favorite Moonpaw theory yet.

No Fear ----> One Fear: Moonpaw is literally just Shadowsight 2.0.

No Fear ----> One Fear: Moonpaw is literally just Shadowsight 2.0. Glad that Frostpaw was able to subvert this to a degree. But one can only do the voices trope so often.

Agreed, I definitely feel she has enough of her own uniqueness to separate her from Shadowsight as a character- but will they be able to avoid it again, is the question. Really makes me wonder who the "voice" is this time. It's definitely not going to be a "good" cat.

No Fear ----> One Fear: Moonpaw is literally just Shadowsight 2.0. As long as she’s a more likeable character than Shadowsight and doesn’t have so many near-death experiences and yet still doesn’t die, she should be good in my book. I kinda want her to be fixed though, it won’t stop the March of inbreeding but it would make me feel better.

XD Obviously that will never happen on such a wide scale.

As someone who just didn't care for Shadowsight's character until after TBC, I'm actually glad Frostpaw avoided the same treatment. I would have genuinely lost so much interest in her.

please dont make her a med kitty, i really hope they make her like the thunderclan mediator or smn or like she finds a mate in a different clan and moves. i also just want her to be really weird and funny and odd. like super silly. (at least she isnt grey!!)

(at least she isnt grey!!) Ooooooh, I hadn’t considered her moving to another Clan. Her moving to WindClan would be interesting. (I’m also very tired of a ThunderClan POV and I was hoping she’d have been a WindClan cat anyway. Plus, if she has to spread her heavily incestuous genes, that’s one way to do it.)

Tbh I only hope that she doesn't become a medicine cat, instead becoming an antagonist of some sort.

Tbh I only hope that she doesn't become a medicine cat, instead becoming an antagonist of some sort. Full on antagonist, or an anti-hero type like Clear Sky/Skystar was in DOTC?

Tbh I only hope that she doesn't become a medicine cat, instead becoming an antagonist of some sort. If she’s an antagonist, I wouldn’t mind her being a medicine cat or an apprentice to one because that would give us our first evil medicine cat.

Like Clear sky, I want the sinister voice in her head to make her do bad things and then maybe realize that she isn't actually evil, but still get punishment from her clan.
