Inou Shoka // 18 ... female ... earthbenderreference!! Taken in by a Kyoshi warrior from her village after being orphaned, Inou was raised in the ways of a Kyoshi warrior since, resulting in a firm, self-assured, confident, yet somewhat strict personality; she's incredibly self-sufficient. Inou was considered unteachable at first, due to her notoriously short temper and sharp tongue, though these qualities mellowed out with training. Unbeknownst to most, Inou discovered she was an earthbender a little before being taken in, but due to a morbid accident occurring within discovery, she refused, and still refuses, to acknowledge this side of herself "for good" and hides her abilities away. Currently, she lives as a non-bender, serving her division.
(non-bender still being developed,, might post them later. for now, have inou !)

Auspice ... 21 ... male ... waterbender ... team avatar
Oz's almost preternatural intuition and perceptiveness results in his being incredibly smug. Almost insufferably so, as he's just smug in a palpable way that doesn't require his verbally communicating that he knows something (everything) you don't. Knowledge of the future, or at least how much or how little fortune will favor it, also makes for a naturally cool mien. He likes to appear levelheaded and unflappable, taking charge when others are panicking to calmly steer the situation in whichever way he sees fit. Even so, he tries to avoid the spotlight, though he can certainly work it if necessary. Oz is commanding and controlling, delighting in the power that divination gives him over others and always acting in his best interests. Or so he'd like you to believe- He seems adept at coming up with selfish reasons to do good. Auspice is flirtatious but only for the sake of control or trickery. He's a member of the Red Monsoon Triad but has a 'legitimate' business as a diviner, consultant, and informant. Auspice joins Team Avatar purely for his own reasons but pretends to be sympathetic to her cause. He excels in healing and bloodbending, but keeps the latter a secret. Auspice is also skilled with kukri and other knives or daggers. Oz is working on learning chi-blocking as well. He'd like to be an all-rounder.

( Thanks! I just thought the gang'd be more fun and well-rounded if there's a lot of variety! I hope Auspice works~ He doesn't actually have the power to see the future, but he's deluded himself into thinking he can and that 'luck favors him'. There's also some business with Spirits but that'll be revealed later~ )

And real quick- how many people know Reign as the avatar and how would they know? Just wondering if Oz should recognize her or not! )

-- AHH no worries if you aren't able to though !! :3
hmm ! i feel like they at least know that the avatar is an airbender, but i think it'd be fun if none of the group knew it was reign until she tells them :D maybe none know bc maybe the air temple she came from wanted her to train prior to releasing the information to every other nation?? idk if any of that made sense , but like, in a gist, no one knows yet because the air temple didn't want her to get "hunted" by bad guys until she had mastered the elements, but she had to leave anyway to master the other elements to begin with - hence why shes in republic city :3 --

( Thanks again~ I'll be careful! :3
Hmhm, that makes sense! ^^ Oh! Is she wearing airbender clothing/colors or anything to distinguish her then? Or just regular clothes?
Daiyu wears mostly airbender colors and occasionally wears the monk robes/outfit when off work while Auspice usually wears dark colors, dark reds, and golds to reflect his Fire Nation heritage. )

-- When she trains she wears the monk robes and probably outfits similar to what jinora wore in lok but when shes just chilling, she probably wear just ?? Average clothes- especially since the rp is set in more modern times. The clothes will be colors that represent the air nomads tho, i think. Though i like to think she always wears like,, a cloak of some sort with a hood (or even just a hoodie of some kind) --

|| ~ Daiyu Zhuge ~ || -` gumi ´- .✫ 🐾 ++ Daiyu carefully made his way through the crowded tables of the Tea Shop with heavily-laden trays that he often had to use airbending to keep in his hands. He did his best to ignore the rousing laughter that would stop and start from the far corner, usually preceded by a familiar resonant tone that nonetheless occasionally drew his eye as he fought against wondering what was so amusing, exactly. Auspice has appeared again, always materializing when he least expects it. Ostensibly he's here to 'check on' the 'little noble' (Daiyu is taller than him) that he'd helped find a position at the illustrious establishment but what he's truly doing is playing dice games. Gambling is heavily frowned upon inside the historical landmark, but Auspice had declared that they're only wagering more rounds of tea or snacks and so he's become a favored customer amongst the staff as far as Daiyu can tell. The owner's eyes fairly gleam whenever he saunters in with his trademark lazy smile. Distantly. Very distantly, Daiyu notes that he's wearing it now, peeking from the corner of his eye as he takes the long way past their table. He hates that he's awkwardly hovering in the periphery, but it's been...quiet in the time the waterbender has been gone and Auspice is his only sort of friend in Republic City. So far! So far...But right now he's a customer and he hasn't called Daiyu over because Tefa got to him first and Daiyu can't just...go over there for no reason! Well to say hi, but that isn't within his purview of duties once they get past the door!
A flustered woman calls him over to clean her spilled drink and the airbender dutifully approaches with a damp cloth and Official Jasmine Dragon Monogramed Towel. Smilingly, he reassures her that it's alright, 'an easy fix!' and promises to get her another cup. As he cleans however, he realizes the reason she'd been too distracted to watch her elbows. Her attention flits back to Auspice, holding court in the back of the establishment. There are flashes of gold as he gestures gracefully with his hands, pearly teeth glinting in the low light. Auspice- no last name that he knows of- frequently draws eyes and admiration, and it's easy to see why. He was blessed with perfectly symmetrical features. His cat-like Fire Nation-gold eyes stand out in sharp relief against smooth umber skin, wreathed in thick dark lashes and often further rimmed in kohl. Auspice's hair draws the most attention, however. Thick and glossy, it's a strange amalgamation of silvery gold waves that is always artfully messy, framing his ever-smiling face and forming left-swept bangs over bold brows. (Daiyu is too polite to ask if he dyed it, but the fact that Auspice's left eyebrow is still a reddish-brown gives him a clue.)
Daiyu reflects that he isn't jealous as he hands the customer her tea. Looks aren't everything. He knows that. His mother always...frequently complained that his face is too long and his nose is too small and his eye- but that's...that's relative. Master Shui said that everyone is destined to receive what they're meant to. "And I'm meant to have this." He whispers to himself, but is given pause when he sets the tray down on the far counter and turns over his hands to reveal their current state. What was once smooth, soft and unmarred has become callused and spotted with burns from his first experiences in a kitchen. They're the hands of a...common peon now. As his mother would say. What is he doing? Is this the life he's meant for? Or-
"Daiyu~!"
The familiar sing-song voice startles him out of his musings and he instinctively dons a smile as he straightens and turns toward the caller. "Yes?" A flash of gold as he's waved over. Daiyu pauses, noting that Tefa is still in the process of leaving their table, but Auspice arches his brows and Daiyu tries to approach at a subdued pace.
"You know I dropped by to visit you~"
'Is that so? You seem to be having fun multitasking.'
Auspice smiles up at him, casually recrossing long legs and leaning back to place an elbow on the armrest. He sits in every chair as if it were a throne. "What were you doing lurking in the corner there~?"
Daiyu puffs out his cheeks, fighting off a blush because he is too pale to not be able to control that by now- but did Auspice see him having an existential crisis over there?! Is that why he called him over? He should've hid in the tea cupboard like a normal person!
"I- ah- was. Serving customers..."
The sparkle in Auspice's eyes suggests that he isn't buying it, but he mercifully lets it go. Daiyu almost sighs with relief.
"You aren't overworking yourself again, are you?" The waterbender tsks, raising his steaming cup to gesture at the brunet before he takes a sip. "You know you're like a son to me-"
Daiyu tries not to give him a droll look. He's speaking dramatically and entertaining his...friends. (They had been joshing among themselves while they spoke but now start up a round of chuckles as if he's told some great joke) Daiyu tells himself that they're not laughing at him, just trying to humor Auspice. He wants to say 'that is physically and chronologically impossible' but instead says, "The distance between our ages is negligible." With a smile, of course.
Auspice flicks long beribboned fingers as if batting away his retort. "Irrelevant~ Here." He raises one of the cups of tea that Tefa had brought over- Vintage Narciss, Daiyu notes with a widening eye. It's one of his favorite flavors but he can ill afford it now- "You've seen to everyone in the shop, yes? Go take a break. If you don't feel comfortable sitting with this rowdy lot-" He gives his company a playfully dubious look- "-feel free to find your favorite corner." Though his low tone is teasing, his gaze is warm. Daiyu can feel his own face getting warm.
"O-oh- I-" Touched, Daiyu freezes in the act of accepting the gift, gaze darting to where his manager is going on a spiel about one of the shop's aged photographs to a group of children.
"Go on. I'll tell her I sent you." Auspice dismisses him with a wave of his hand. An action that disguises his use of bending to ensure the tea doesn't spill when the brunet clumsily takes the glazed cup.
"Thank you." Daiyu turns away quickly so that Auspice doesn't see how pleased he is, but the soft chuckle behind him suggests that he hadn't moved fast enough. Keeping his back straight, he nonetheless stiffly moves back to the main counter and register, cradling the cup to his chest like a precious turtleduck egg. Tefa arches her brows at him, opening her mouth to say something but Daiyu quickly takes a sip before she can ask him where he got it. It's an ill-advised action that would usually result in scalding his tongue, but it seems Auspice had cooled what must have been burning hot at their table so that all he feels is a pleasant heat as he appreciates the familiar woodsy flavor. Just the right temperature~
He chances another glance over and Auspice lazily raises his cup in salute. Daiyu gives him a shy wave in thanks.
Tefa snorts but doesn't get to tease him about his 'special friend' because she's called over by another table, and Daiyu is free to sip his tea in peace. He doesn't sit though, it doesn't feel right to actually stop working without express permission. But when stationary like this, he realises just how much his body aches and that he probably hasn't taken a break since he came in that morning...the bell over the door cheerily announces another set of customers and he idly reflects that he won't be getting that break anytime soon. Setting his cup behind the counter and far away from the others, Daiyu smooths down his apron and approaches the pair with a bright, "Hello! Welcome to the Jasmine Dragon! Seating for two? And- oh, hi~!" He breaks from his spiel to wiggle his fingers at the lemur on the girl's shoulder.

I can't do coding and such so *waves hands* There's that. Also Daiyu does not have a crush on Oz or anything of the like ;;; He just gets flustered when people are nice to him and blushes a lot-
Also I might post art if it's hard to picture what Auspice looks like? I didn't use it as a reference because like Daiyu's, it's from a different style/fandom. )

INOU SHOKAWhat an odd place. That was Inou's first impression of Republic City; she'd grown accustomed to the soft horizons of Kyoshi Island, spending her childhood within silent land. The quiet stillness that laced the air where she'd been raised, though oftentimes interrupted by birdsong, was something she missed dearly. Even so, she was to follow orders. And if those orders were to observe the war waged upon the area, so be it, Inou was to prove she was cooperative (she wasn't at all stubborn as the other warriors spoke of!), though she saw no reason to take such measures. The info the division requested her to deliver each week was a painfully crushing weight upon the warrior who was all but eloquent- truthfully, Inou hated the big city.
It was far too tacky for her liking. Ludicrously large and loud, the Kyoshi warrior found it painfully overbearing, flashy and flamboyant in its' many signs, shops and people. She was used to routine; her days typically consisted of training, training and.. more training, which, admittedly, most would find plain and repetitive, though Inou would argue that repetition is the mother of learning..
Worst of all, she was told to resign from wearing the makeup characteristic of her order while in the city, as to blend in properly. Inou didn't dislike her appearance (no, of course not, why would she?), but there was something about her face that looked so terribly wrong once it wasn't painted in the whites, blacks and reds she so adored. That, and there was something so annoying about the view, lacking her most favored green hues...
So that's why Inou had decided to slow down for a short moment, and take a much needed break in the first tea shop she stumbled upon. Which was still a bother, to say the least, with a constant stream of people running in and out of the place, but she thought that it was a little more tolerable than whatever ruckus swamped the streets outside.
She dutifully observed the surrounding tables, before her shoulders sagged. Surely, she'd find nothing interesting here. This was simply a tea shop, nothing more, nothing less. Maybe, Inou mused, just maybe, she'll finally find a moment to think.
But, just then, a pair of two rather interesting-looking (well, maybe they didn't look so strange, save for the lemur!) individuals strolled into her field of view. Diligently, she watched them, before sighing, and returning her focus to her tea...
You're simply searching for trouble is what her mentor would've said, in response to Inou's persistent eyes almost desperately yearning for some sort of action. Internally she cursed herself for being so frustratingly contradicting; thoughts about peace and quiet, thoughts about a proper, lengthy amount of info for her division, thoughts about approval and perfection and chaos and disarray.. They all spun her head into a tangled mess, like flies, buzzing so quietly yet so irritatingly.
So, tiredly, Inou resorted to minding her own business and keeping to herself.. cautiously, of course.. in the simple case anything turned for the worse.

eee look i got up replies >:3 REIGN AGAAR - - ★ aka, the avatar
Walking into an establishment that wasn't another air temple where all the nomads seemed to know of her felt refreshing. Hand gripped at her staff tightly as she slowly stepped inside, avoiding a young boy that ran by- almost crashing into a nearby table. With a swift motion of her wrist, Reign used her airbending to stable the wobbling chair and boy, smiling kindly. Her attention then shifted towards the barista that was greeting her. Red flared across her cheeks as she waved in return. Other than Mika, Reign never really got greeted normally. That was, until she left the air temple to go adventure and find masters on her own, away from rules and whatever basic traditions she had been taught living as a monk.
Brushing her hands against her hooded burnt-orange shawl before making her way to the counter. "Good morning," She eventually replied, glancing at Kiki who was twitching her ears and chirping her own greeting towards Daiyu. "Ah- Yes please. My friend, Mika and I are traveling through republic city and I wanted to do a bit of studying before we took to the air again." She held up the scrolls in her hand, smiling kindly. Of course this stranger wouldn't care why she was at the tea shop. Why would he? Reign cursed herself silently for even rambling about it and showing off the various scrolls that were clearly marked with colors corresponding to the nations and their various bending techniques. She turned slowly, peering at the filling tables. She noticed another girl who seemed to be a little more crescent fallen as she peered around the shop. Perhaps she was upset that the tables were filling up? Or maybe she just wasn't fond of the atmosphere? Reign wouldn't know- despite being the avatar, she wasn't able to read anyones mind. Except maybe Kiki and Sables' minds. They were like open books to her.
Reign was going to speak up again, wanting to ask Mika - the guy she had entered with - to see if he had any table preference, but he was already slipping away, towards the other girl who seemed to be eying them. The young avatar had to admit that they both stood out amongst the citizens in the shop. Reign was dressed in modern airbender clothing. Mika was dressed somewhat similar to those of the city- since he had been born there. Since Reign had arrived, she hadn't ever thought about changing up her outfit- maybe she could stop in a clothing store to find something more... modern, and that would prevent her from sticking out.
With a sigh, the young avatar turned to look back at Daiyu. "Sorry about my friend. But this is Kiki," She gestured towards her lemur, who in turn jumped from her own shoulder onto Daiyu's. Kiki chirped happily and circled around Daiyu's shoulders in pleasant happiness- she could detect another airbender with a simple sniff it seemed. Not that Reign herself could tell, though. "Ah, sorry again. She's usually not like that. Kiki, please don't bother him, he's working!" She reached forwards to the lemur, who jumped into Reign's arms happily, chirping nonsense as if she was trying to explain her discovery. "I wouldn't suppose you'd have a nice... quiet spot, would you?" She asked curiously, brownish-grey eyes glittering hopefully.
// we can have oz approach them after maybe?? to like stir up a convo with the "people he's never seen around here before" maybe?? i think the group would stay (group as in mika and reign) until the shop closes, so she will def interact again with daiyu again tho!!✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏ MIKA AKITA - - ★ non-bender, team avatar
Mika was silent as he strolled behind his new friend slowly, nodding a greeting in return towards the barista who seemed more enthralled in the lemur on the avatars shoulder than himself. Not that the young nonbender really minded. While he loved attention as much as the next person, it was interesting to watch the brunette in front of him entertain herself with conversation with someone who wasn't her flying bison, flying lemur and, well, Mika himself. It caused a snort of amusement to leave him as she glanced back towards him- mentioning that they were looking for a place to sit and study, or whatever. Sure, she would be studying. Mika, on the other hand, would be testing his charm around the lovely ladies that sat and walked around the establishment. He stared as the kid who had just been airbended back onto their feet darted across the shop once again, rolling his eyes. Man, kids these days. They had so much energy.
Yeah, Mika wasn't old or anything, but he had learned to take things as they went, and lived his life to the fullest. Especially after he had finished training with Master Suzo and essentially mastered his sword skills. Now, he was assigned - in his own words, it wasn't a genuine assignment or anything - to helping the avatar in any way he could. Sure, when you first met the guy he would seem aloof and out of touch- a nuance to some due to his charismatic and flirtatious ways, but man were his skills with a sword on par and the complete contrast of how he came off.
Mika's gaze landed on the young girl that was eyeing them since they had walked in. He raised an eyebrow before offering her a flirty smirk- something signature of his. He strolled away from Reign and Daiyu as they continued their own conversation before making his way up to the other girl- Inou. He didn't know her personally or anything, but he would still shoot his shot, regardless if they had spoken.
With a flirtatious grin, Mika bowed in greeting before taking Inou's hand gently in his own, offering her knuckles a kiss. "Why, what's a beautiful lady like yourself doing alone in this tea shop? Looking for a suitor, by any chance?" Mike stood tall, puffing his chest out ever so slightly. He was muscular, and tended to be a show off when he wanted to make a point that he was. "May I buy you a cup of tea, or interest you in a small chat?" He asked, gesturing towards a table. "Maybe I can also introduce you to my friend." The young man grinned before cupping his mouth with the back of his hand to lower his voice and speak to Inou in a whisper- uttering the words he most definitely shouldn't be spilling unless Reign told him to. "She's the avatar, her name's Reign." He whispered, leaving the room for Inou to accept or decline his flirting attempt and offer to join them.
// i am going to endlessly apologize for him and how he is XDDD i wouldn't blame inou if she smacked some sense into him

++ Daiyu had been reciting his lines by rote, trying to politely look the girl in the eye and beam at her winged lemur at the same time (he hopes he didn't go cross-eyed!) but when she spoke his attention refocused and the color of her clothing registered. The style was familiar too- similar to what he'd wear outside of work. (Tefa claims orange clashes with the uniform so he's stuck with neutrals) She'd also discreetly displayed her ability when a child went careening past them before he could react. His eye widened as his smile does the same, head tilted toward the shorter bender eagerly. It isn't like airbenders are rare or avoid the Tea Shop- Daiyu is just always inordinately happy when he comes across one. They're like...his people! Almost. He doesn't believe he'll ever properly 'fit in' with them, but it's nice to have something in common, at least! " Take...to the air?" He really wants to ask if she can fly. Does...she have a flying bison perhaps? That would be-! He wants to peer behind her and see if he can catch a glimpse but all of those actions would be rude and have nothing to do with his job. Besides- he doesn't even know her name! He's wearing a nametag but still it would be polite to begin the introductions. " I see." Daiyu's eye flickers toward the scrolls she'd raised, brows rising at the color-coded hints as to their contents. That's...curious. " Well, you've chosen the perfect place to do so! Uncle Iroh's is very popular with the local students~ My name is Daiyu and I'll be your server for today, let's find you a quiet place to read." When she looks out over the gradually filling building he does the same, briefly catching Auspice's eye purely by chance. The waterbender is smiling into his cup of tea, free hand idly rolling dice across his knuckles. With a few words the rowdy lot he'd been entertaining get up to leave. Not without a lot more laughing and pithy retorts to whatever he'd said, but suddenly that end of the seating area is conspicuously quiet as they make their way to the exit. Daiyu narrows his eye and Auspice widens his guilelessly. Huh. His attention shifts at his fellow airbender's words, and a laugh is startled out of him when Kiki hops onto his shoulder. Daiyu reflexively lifts a hand to cover his mouth to conceal his mirth, but his hunter green eye is alight with cheer as he turns his head in an attempt to track the lemur's happy movements without dislodging her. " It's no problem! There's no need to apologize- Kiki just replenished all of my energy, haha~" He wants to give her much-deserved pats but he is working after all. Still she reminds him of the times he, " I used to play with the winged lemurs in between training so that I'd recover well enough for the next session-" All of his stress felt like it was melting away in the face of such fun-loving, mischievous creatures who were just happy to be alive. He wishes he could be more like them. And. Ah. She didn't ask. Daiyu's face heats at this realization, watching in muted dismay as Kiki happily returns to her owner. He always ends up saying way too much when speaking with other airbenders, out of some need to establish common ground, perhaps? Yet his parents constantly cautioned him against speaking when it wasn't strictly necessary. He's just here to do a job. Clearing his throat, Daiyu injects less personal hospitality into his smile. " Of course, follow me please." He leads her to the table next to Auspice's but realizes once they arrive that he was too flustered to grab a menu. His friend saves him once again by turning in his seat, throwing maroon-clad legs over the arm so that he can somewhat face them while extending a menu over the back of the chair. Daiyu accepts it with an ' oh, thank you!' and Auspice responds with a lazy smile; slowly curving up one side of his full lips and then the other. His golden eyes glitter with interest as they alight on the new airbender. " Of course~" Auspice sits forward, crossing his legs and angling his body so that he can rest an elbow on one of the plush green cushions, curling fingers against his jaw as if holding his chin in thought. " Hello there~ I don't believe I've ever officially met you. You must be new to Republic City, yes~?" His gaze briefly trails over her airbender-styled clothing. " Well then! Allow me to officially welcome you to our charming home~ Yu-" The waterbender's attention doesn't exactly shift but his eyes briefly lift to Daiyu, remaining awkwardly after handing the girl her menu. "- please, put whatever she and her friend order on my tab." His next words were addressed to her. " Consider it a welcome gift. I know the city can be a bit...much your first go around. I would like to offer any hospitality it may be lacking." He cants his head, glittering eyes almost luminous in the shadow of his feathery locks. " Ah, my name is Auspice, it's a pleasure to meet you-?" The words trail upward in a silent request for her name.

His triad likes to jokingly refer to him as the 'welcoming committee' beacuse he's always trying to make friends connections Speaking of, I'm not writing in his POV yet because I want to see what you guys make of him without knowing what he's thinking! I hope I can do him justice )

All the while, Inou had been sternly glaring at him, and her eyes seemed like an endless pitch black, staring at him somewhat hauntingly. Her expression was stone hard, and she didn't say a word, although it wasn't too hard to tell she wasn't particularly flattered, nor was she very interested.
Until he mentioned the Avatar.
"The Avatar?" she echoed immediately, her voice even and cold, raising an eyebrow in intrigue (she still didn't seem very amused, however). Suddenly she seemed a whole lot more receptive— that was how Inou always got when she was curious— though she still diligently upheld that same strict face. Immediately her thoughts spun into the delightful whirl of potential praise she'd receive if she told them, if she told her division, if she provided them with such a wonderfully useful information.. what if this guy was lying, though? No, even if he was, this was a valuable suspicion to pursue. Lies are still evidence, Inou recited in her head, if he's lying, he's doing so for a reason..
..but it felt wrong. Somehow, it felt so wrong, so incredibly wrong— glancing at that girl, Reign as she'd been told, at her rambling incoherence (oh, how her mentor would scold that unsure shuffling!) and that face of hers— was it really so right to tell her division of someone who'd done no harm at all? After all, Inou wasn't sure what they did with any of the info she brought to them; so secretive and quiet, she had not even a glimpse into their inner workings, or their true motivations.
She blinked the thoughts away into the back of her head, burning the same rules into her eyelids for the millionth time, drowning any resistance she felt in her bones. Do what you're told.
"Reign, huh?" she reiterated.
Do what you're told, under all and any circumstances.

- - good morning!! I’ll try to reply either tn or sometime this weekend:3 or even week- depends!! But i loooove everyones interactions so far ??
I never replied earlier but- ivy i agree with end!! Your writing is fantastic<3 super excited to see what inou does with the information mika gave her. (He really shouldn’t have but hey he’ll do anything to impress a girl, like his great-great-great grandfather sokka xDD (i wanted to give him some sokka energy)
& end, omg okay glad we’re on the same page! I really love both daiyu and oz?? Theyre both so unique. I feel like reign would get along VERY well with daiyu just purely based on how both of them have a nature to get really interested in someone elses background, find resemblance to it, and ramble of their own (in a positive way). I also think she’ll probably be a lil flustered by Oz’s sudden interest? I’ll have to write to see but i do love his character and how easygoing he seems!! Mika would probably think the guys cool as all hell too, ngl. (But i’ll probably have to write mika interacting with him to see)
Overall, soooo excited to see how the group all interacts together :3

Lanfen The Jasmine Dragon | With no one (@open)
Lanfen took a breath as she entered the tea shop, clutching her backpack close to her chest as her crococat: Bao sat in the backpack, a lazy look in his eyes and a low rumble coming from his chest. ”Alright, Bao, we’ve got this,” Lanfen decided and slipped the backpack back over her shoulders. ”I know it’s been awhile since we’ve been trusted todo anything by ourselves—“ Not since the incident, but Lanfen wasn’t going to let that stop her anymore. ”But we’re brave, we’re capable, and most importantly; we can order tea for ourselves!”
Bao meowed in response.
Lanfen took that as confirmation and took a deep breath, stepping into the line and reading over the menu hanging above the counter as she waited for her turn. There were a lot of options for tea. She needed not to get overwhelmed.
Feeling her anxiety spike as she inched closer to the counter, Lanfen took a shaky breath and reached into her pocket, rubbing her thumb along a smooth black stone that molded into a fidget toy at her touch.
Soon, it was her time to order.
Lanfen took a breath and stepped forward. ”Um, hi, can I have some uh…” Oh no, what was she going to order? Lanfen had been rehearsing her order the entire time she was in line and now that it was time to order, her mind went blank. ”Um…do you guys serve boba?”
