(Also question, is there like a specific type of magic that is used in this rp? Or can I make my own :3)

( Of course! You can go back & edit her and I'll update the front page. ^^
And as for your second question, nope! As long as your character is a Witch or Wizard their magic can be anything! Cambions & demons have to have powers related to what they are, however. So for example, Ryu can't use magic but he can create lightning/electricity because that's a power associated with Oni!
Onyx is a dragon so you can give her any powers traditionally related to dragons! It wouldn't be called magic though, as only humans and creatures of the earth can use it- I'll explain more in a classroom setting. ^^" )
( Also if it wasn't clear, this rp does take place in the 21st century! I'll add that to the front page... )

| Zinna Heartbrook | Pheltronan Caves (Ravenshadow)
Zinna nodded, taking the left path. The hopeful hadn't told her their name, but that was okay. You don't always trust the first person you meet. But Zinna thought that if they battled, she would win. She was a year older, bigger, and had more training under her belt. I am an Amber student after all. But by the looks of it, her companion was a cambian, but she was unsure of which species. Even though her school was filled with them, she didn't know too much about them, and even if she did, every cambain was different, as every warlock or witch was different. "Thank you" It seemed like a random question, but she realized that her companion wanted to keep the conversation flowing. "What's your name?" She asked. Zinna had introduced herself after all, and if they were going to work together, they might as well address each other with words other than 'hopeful' or 'companion'.

Onyx | DewWhen Zinna started talking, Onyx’s eyes were drawn away from the blade. She had been so intent on sizing up the person walking beside her that she had forgotten to introduce herself. “My name is Onyx.” While Zinna was larger than her, Onyx was pretty comfortable with her fighting capabilities even if she was smaller. And even though the sword was huge Onyx’s dagger was faster and probably more sharp. She put her hand on the wall while they walked and felt the ridges and sharps bits that jutted out from the rock. Slate probably, judging from the coloring in some places and how it’s been formed… The darkness was reassuring and she leaned into the almost tangible blackness. A small wind rippled through the tunnel and Onyx enjoyed the scent of the cool underground air. Caves were where she felt most at home, and she liked the way this one smelled. Earthy and moist.

|| Sorachi Kišo || Pheltronan Caverns / Dew --
Someone steps up not long after he makes his little announcement, and Sorachi's confidence turns to sheepishness when he turns to face her. "Oh! Hello, of course!" He's...is he talking too fast? He clears his throat but Ryuzaki speaks up before he can add anything else.
"Yes. Great timing." He's visibly sizing her up and Sorachi wonders if he can discretely elbow him- but then Ryu smiles brightly and he relaxes. "I am Igarashi Ryuzaki and this is Kišo Sorachi. It is a pleasure to meet you." Golden eyes flick to her hands, empty save each other as she wrings her wrists. "Are you a witch? What type of magic do you use?" Though his voice is naturally rough, his tone is as friendly as he can make it. Ryuzaki tilts his head and, without taking much time to consider it, leans forward to sniff at her before moving back with a pensive hum. "You smell like a freshwater spring?"
Although he'd waved upon hearing his name, Sorachi takes Ryu speaking up as his cue to actually deliver on what was promised. He retrieves a slip of paper, brush, and ink from his leather satchel but a glance at the rocky floor reveals a dirty, uneven surface. He thinks he sees darker patches that may be dried blood- well. He'll keep that in mind. Habit has him turning to Ryuzaki's broad back, and the Oni doesn't even bat an eye when he flattens the paper against him and begins the painstaking process of writing out the kanji for the spell. Ryuzaki had automatically lifted an open palm to hold his ink well, and Sorachi taps excess ink off before making the final strokes. It's tricky, as he has to draw from the shallow pool of mana within him to imbue the words with both feeling and intention. He knows he succeeded when the words flicker before settling. The paper then goes stiff and doesn't fall when he removes his hand.
Sorachi hastily packs everything away and unsticks the bespelled paper so that he can lean around Ryuzaki and toss it into the center tunnel. It settles into the air and remains still for long enough that his face heats with embarassment, but then it bursts into motion. Ryuzaki laughs as it flutters violently around the narrow space, sticking to wall, ceiling, and floor with a shock of electricity accompanying every resting place before seemingly exhausting itself and fluttering limply to the ground. He's still laughing when he squats to poke at its limp form, shaking his head at the onmyōji's protests.
"That's- that's not good!"
"It's great news! Means that we're going in the right direction no matter which one we choose! Everywhere's cursed~" Ryuzaki is grinning widely when he hands Sorachi the spent ofuda, and jerks a thumb over his shoulder with a, "And there's our clue!"
"Wha-" But then he hears it. The walls have been humming with an undercurrent of something since they've started down the paths. But the screaming. That's new.
There are screams of fear and pain echoing from the tunnel to their right, and the sound of frantic movement reverbrating through the left. Sorachi's eyes widen, muscles tensing as he shifts toward the unmoved cambion. "What could be- we have to help them!"
Ryuzaki frowns at him. "What? No, I meant we take the path that's quiet. Obviously they found their curse. Let's find ours."

|| Amalareiks Arlind || Pheltronan Caverns / Ravenshadow & @dewbranch --
This year's Entrance Exams were well on their way despite it only being...roughly fifteen minutes since everyone entered the caves? Pheltronan's magic system must have been updated because he has seen at least three Hellhounds in that short span of time, which could only mean that the rest of their pack is on its way. But he doesn't have the time to worry about that right now-
"I'm afraid this cave's at-" he ducks under a swipe and dances out of reach, "-capacity. You're going to have to-" Rex flips over the tail that had come sweeping at him next, whipping out a chakram while he's directly above it so that he can slice into the vulnerable flesh of its underside. "-find another one!" He raises his voice to shout the next words over a screech of pain. His landing becomes a somersault and he comes up running, turning to move backward so that he can grin at the uncertain trio of wizards still lingering at the mouth of the cave.
"Go on~ I called first blood!"
Despite being in active battle, Rex keeps his tone light so as not to alert the rookies to the impossible feat they'd been facing. A gorgon is way above their grade level. Most witches and wizards don't encounter such high level demons in the wild, not unless they live on the very fringes of society, and even then, they rarely live to tell of it. Mythic class demons in Pheltronan are usually documented and hunted by more experienced Exorcists but its magic relies on luck and it looks like this year's Azures are destined to be very unlucky~
"Ha~" He exhales on a laugh, catching his returning chakram as he wheels around to face the demon once more. He's successfully headed off another bloodbath and the newbies are escaping...the gorgon is escaping too. Amalareiks swears and picks up speed, following her massive whipping tail into another series of tunnels. He's in a good mood and the battle's just started so his aura is holding well enough to expand it. He tears off a glove with his teeth and holds a hand to the rocky wall as he runs, searching for any auras that may cross paths with his prey...ah, that's familiar.
Zinna then, and another cambion. It's unlikely that an Amber student will have faced a gorgon but she's about to get a crash course. Good for her~ Amalareiks veers off into another system that he knows will offer him a shortcut, drawing on his aura until he's a roseate blur that crashes into the wall ahead of the pair.
"Ah," he brushes dust and bits of rubble from the gray cloak that hides his rank, stepping out of the crater he'd formed in the rock wall. "Overshot it a bit...draw your blades." Although he's still smiling, Rex's last words have the unmistakable ring of command. "We have a gorgon incoming, I'd like to see how you handle it~" He can't give away Zinna's identity, but his head tilts toward her as he puts his back to them and shakes out his hands. The cambion is a wild card but she feels and smells draconic. That one could be their ace~ "I'll keep her gaze on me, so stay in my periphery~"
The 'her' in question wastes no time hurtling around the corner, humanoid body lowered to no doubt catch the gaze of anyone at eye level. Amalareiks causes his aura to flare to draw her attention, eyes having closed as soon as he'd heard her scales scraping over the earth. He sends his chakrams flying at her face immediately, taking a few casual steps into striking distance to act as a decoy.

( I decided to go with a demon I haven't recorded yet- but you guys probably know what to expect from a gorgon? Basically a giant snake woman with snakes for hair and eyes that can turn you to stone if you look directly into them- I'd say her scales are incredibly tough and she's venomous but Zinna should be able to cut her with her sword because it's forged by the school and thus enchanted metal. While Onyx could actually poison her because draconic toxins are probably stronger. She can also talk! She's a higher demon so she has intelligence just like any other sentient being. She's just very angry right now-
Just to clarify- right now Onyx's dagger wouldn't penetrate her scales because it needs to be an enchanted blade created by the school- it'd work on lesser demons but not a very strong one. I was thinking 'Hope's End' could be the weapon she receives after becoming a student? That's when everyone gets their specialized weapons made!
Sorry I'm so pedantic! ;;; I guess I'm still adding to the front page- )

(Ok! I’d like her to still have Hope’s End now, but it could be much less advanced… would that work? That way she still has a weapon but it’s not as nice. When she gets into the school she can upgrade it :3)

Onyx | Dew endingfairyAt first, Onyx was about to attempt to stab it. But after seeing how the rocks glanced off it with ease, she decided against it. ‘I should probably let one of these two handle this one… although I can probably keep it pinned for a good slashing.’ She pulled at the darkness in the cave seeing as how there was an abundance of it. Conjuring it like a thick rope, she wrapped it around the gorgon’s throat and squeezed. It was hard to maintain the chokehold but Onyx tightened it whenever the gorgon paused to breathe or screech. She looked at Zinna and who she assumed was the professor. “Any time now guys.” Her voice was dry and almost humorous as she said it. Onyx excelled in difficult situations, even if she wasn’t of much help.

| Ada Hendrix | Pheltronan Caverns (endingfairy )
Ada smiled. She had a team now. The taller one, he looked like he was sizing her up. She instinctively made herself smaller. He must have liked what he saw because he told her their names. "Pleasure to meet you as well, I'm Ada Hendrix" She said, nodding to each of them. "Er - yes, I am a witch. I have water-based healing magic" Ada said, meeting Ryuzaki's gaze. Next thing she knew he leaned forward and sniffed her. She stepped back slightly. "You smell like a freshwater spring?" It sounded more like a question then a statement. "I guess, I have never - well, I've never thought of how I smelled before"
Sorachi (that was his name - right?) turned and took a paper, brush and ink from his satchel, and turned to write on Ryuzaki's back. They seemed to have known each other before this, and they seemed to have a strong bond. Ada watched as Sorachi worked, intrigued. Oh. He's doing the curse-seeking ofuda. She realized. That was the reason she had walked up to them, other than the fact that she needed two more members and if they had caught her... she didn't know what they would have done. Safer this way, even if they never meant to harm her.
Suddenly, the paper started flying around the room, and she was startled from her thoughts. She didn't know what it was supposed to be doing, but Ryuzaki was laughing. "That's- that's not good!" Sorachi said. "It's great news! Means that we're going in the right direction no matter which one we choose! Everywhere's cursed" Ryuzaki pointed his thumb to the other tunnel, "And there's our clue!" Ada turned her attention to the screaming in the tunnel to to the right. She ran to the tunnel entrance, but stoped when she saw the others not following her. "What? No, I meant we take the path that's quiet. Obviously they found their curse. Let's find ours." True. Ada turned away, walking back to her team. "Well, let's go then"
| Zinna Heartbrook | Pheltronan Caverns (Ravenshadow @ endingfairy)
Zinna was about to go on, but she heard the hurried footsteps of someone in the passage behind them, and she whirled around, coming face to face with Amalareiks 'Rex' Arlind. He was older than her, taller, and in his last year at the academy. "Ah, Overshot it a bit...draw your blades. We have a gorgon incoming, I'd like to see how you handle it~" I'll keep her gaze on me, so stay in my periphery~" Zinna spun around, closing her eye and taking out her sword. She had learned the basics of fighting a gorgon, but had never encountered one before. And probably would have never encountered one. Damn this entrance exam. "Close your eyes!" She said, hoping Onyx heard her.
“Any time now guys.” Zinna heard the call from Onyx, but didn't know what it meant. The gorgon was making a weird choking noise though. She didn't know where Rex was, or how close he was, so she started in the direction of Onyx's voice. "Stand back!" She called. She gave Onyx a second to move out of the way, then sent a bust of flame in the direction she thought the Gorgon was. Zinna was proven right when she felt the fire blast through a being, but not harming it. "Damned Gorgon" She muttered, swinging her sword around and slicing it through the body in front of her. "Did I get it?" She asked, channeling her voice in the direction she thought Rex was.

Onyx | Dew endingfairyOnyx stepped back at the yell from Zinna. As she saw the witch turn towards the gorgon, she sent out another rope of darkness that covered up the gorgon’s eyes. Hopefully that should keep her from turning anyone to stone anytime soon… She drew her blade although she knew that it wouldn’t help very much in the event that the creature turned towards her. Walking around to behind Zinna, she strengthened the ropes. The blast of sunlight had weakened them very much, and Onyx had to grab new shadows to replenish the ones who had been destroyed by the solar blast. When she heard the gorgon go silent, she said quietly to Zinna and the taller boy, “Is it dead?” She carefully made her way around to the gorgon, still keeping the twines tight around the throat.

|| Sorachi Kišo || Pheltronan Caverns / Dew --
"Wh-what?!" Sorachi's eyes widened, looking between the two in disbelief. That was the kind of comment that he should expect from his friend, but Miss Hendrix too-!?
Where he'd previously been attempting to sink into Ryuzaki's shadow, the young onmyōji forces himself to straighten his spine (it doesn't do much, he still needs to tilt his head back to look into the Oni's eyes) and hides trembling hands in pale fists behind his back. "We're graded on teamwork. Surely we'd receive higher marks if we showed that we can work with others outside of our chosen team." His gaze is on Miss Hendrix as he speaks, trying to keep the soft imploring tone from a voice that is as steady as he can make it. Sorachi then turns his attention to Ryuzaki, whose arrms are folded with impatience. He had started in his chosen direction immediately after speaking but whirled to face them at Sorachi's sputtering.
"And why find our own curse when we can take theirs. It s-sounds like they're having difficulty." The onmyōji steps forward, eyes hardening as he softens his next words with lethal intent. "Are you already forgetting your promise?" It's difficult, but he manages to mentally mute out the calls for help for the sake of delivering the next line, "Is this the extent of your resolve, Ryuzaki?"
The cambion stiffens, eyes widening before reflexive anger overtakes him and his mouth twists into a fanged snarl. The leather of his gloves creak when his hands turn to fists. He whips away from them in a single violent motion, possibly avoiding the accusing sharpness of Sorachi's eyes as well as the natural urge to punch them shut. "No! I- it's just- I haven't-!"
While he struggles to explain himself, Sorachi turns coolly to the witch, hitching the strap of his satchel higher on his shoulder. "Well, let's go then." ><><><
|| Amalareiks Arlind || Pheltronan Caverns / Ravenshadow --
The cramped environs was to their advantage- had been- the gorgon's writhing was beginning to affect the structural integrity of the passage they'd caught her in. Her thick striped tail slammed against the stone walls on either side, causing thre ground to shake and more rubble to start pelting them from both above and behind. Rex remained in motion to prevent himself from losing his balance, fending off desperate swipes of her clawed hands that aimed for the dark cambion behind him. His chakrams only returned to his hands to re-up on the aura that coated them, their blades steadily cutting into the thinner scaled flesh of her arms and shaving a few snakes from her head when the angle was right.
Zinna sent a blast of fire past him that burst against the gorgon's lower half, sliding her back and causing her entire body to jerk. Her scales were unharmed but it served to wind her further. The witch quickly followed up with a slash to the abdomen that sent the demon jerking back against the wall behind her in a spray of viscous black blood. It finally collapsed with a deafening crash, shale and rock tumbling down as the entire passage creaked and groaned.
The younger pair both call out to him in confusion, their eyes likely still closed. "That was an excellent display of teamwork~" He praises them, dodging around fist-sized rubble as he doubles back to thrust an arm and shoulder out above Zinna to take on the brunt of another cascade of rock, lightly tapping her back with a wince that she fortunately can't see. "Eyes open. Stay on my heels, we're heading to the adjoining tunnel." He straightens and bats another rock away from her head, more closely coating his body in the shimmering pink of his aura to absorb and disperse damage. Rex feels every shard of rock like a disruptive ripple against the still pool of his lifeforce but harder knocks from life itself has helped him tune them out. That and a sense of duty. The first of which is to his Housemate, who may have difficulty getting to a healer in time if she were to suffer a brain injury. Amalareiks charts a path of least resistance through the collpasing tunnel, senses attuned to the hum of life before and behind him.
When he visually seeks her out, he finds the other cambion slowly making her way around the limp body. The gorgon's eyelids flicker and she extends a trembling arm to the winged girl, melodious voice weak. "W-why...we-we're the same, aren't we? Why would you- I just...wanted to go h-home..."

Onyx | endingfairy DewOnyx quickly covered the gorgon’s eyes with a twine of darkness. This poor creature… even though she tried to kill Onyx, the cambion still felt sympathy for her. She gently pushed away the extended hand and said in a quiet voice, “You can go home now. Just close your eyes and imagine being back at home.” Onyx’s intelligent green eyes softened at the small whimpers of pain coming from the gorgon. Kneeling beside the demon, she took a deep breath and shoved her blade into the gorgon’s exposed throat with a decisive slicing noise. The whimpers ceased and she stood up, wiping her blade of the black blood. Turning to the others, she silently walked back over and stood next to them. Brushing dark hair out of her eyes she said, “So. Where next?” Onyx’s mind was unusually pensive. She didn’t mind death or killing, but usually her prey didn’t try to redeem themselves in death. At least the gorgon died an honorable death. She shivered slightly at the black blood that now stained her hoodie and seeped through to her skin. It was still warm, and Onyx could feel the life slowly draining from it. All she wanted to do now was get away from that broken and bloody body. That ‘thing’ was too much like herself. Onyx had no quarrel with killing demons or people as a matter of fact, but something about how that particular creature was so much like herself shook her. So to distract herself, she decided to make some observations about the older guy who had shown up. Her thoughts went like this: Pink hair, flowers (hibiscus or snapdragon), cheerful, tall, skilled. The thoughts ended suddenly as she realized that was all she really needed to take from him to get a good profile. Zinna was pretty, that much Onyx knew. ‘Probably has a boyfriend waiting for her at the school… all that hot solar energy.’ She snorted to herself almost as soon as the thought entered her mind. ‘So that makes me the opposite of hot. Cold, in fact.’ With one final silent snort she brought herself back to reality. (Hey sorry it took me so long to respond! My WiFi went out, but I’m back now!)

| Ada Hendrix | Pheltronan Caverns (endingfairy )
Ada stopped again, startled by Sorachi's cold words. She wasn't sure now where they were going to go, toward the screaming voices, or away? And what promise? Ada suddenly felt alone, apart from the other two. They obviously had known each other before this, and had a very strong bond. Again, she started to rub her wrists. It was a nervous habit she had, when she was lost or... or really when she didn't know what to do. Which was a lot of the time. Her eyes darted back and forth between the two, the tension palpable. "What promise?" Ada asked, her voice wobbly and high-pitched. She put her hands to her mouth, surprised to hear her own voice.
| Zinna Heartbrook | Pheltronan Caverns (Ravenshadow )
Zinna jumped slightly at Rex's touch. "You can open your eyes now" He said. Zinna slowly opened her eyes, seeing the almost dead body of the Gorgon on the floor in front of her. Pride welled in her chest, but also a sickening feeling that was most unlike her. Most of the things she had killed were quick and painless, but this monster was clearly suffering. Zinna turned her back on it, exhaling as the gorgon was out of her sight. Now she just needed to get that sound out of her ears. Zinna rolled her eyes at Rex's commanding tone. So I'm going to guess that he isn't undercover. He technically was her superior, but she didn't like to think that way.
Zinna started after Rex, trusting him to lead them in the safest direction. "I'm Zinna, and that's Onyx. What's your name?" She asked, wanting to start the conversation. From what she knew of Onyx, the younger cambion didn't talk much, and Zinna didn't want to accidentally call him by his name before Rex formally 'introduced' himself.

Onyx | Dew endingfairy
As Onyx was about to exit the passage with them, she sensed something stirring right where the supposedly dead gorgon was. She turned and walked back over to the assumingely dead body. Her eyes narrowed as she saw the chest rise and fall once. ‘Maybe it’s just muscle twitches?’ Hesitating, she then poked it with one of her hooves and her eyes widened as the hand shot up and gripped her. Desperately she stabbed the hand but with no prevail. She tried dragging herself away but the claws were digging deep into her black scales. “Help!” And while she drew ropes of darkness towards the bastardized creature, the claws were still digging deeper and the Gorgon didn’t even seem phased by the ropes and tore them away. “HELP!” Her dark green eyes were terrified as she yelled for help.
Screeching in pain, she eventually tore her leg away and huddled in a corner as the demon advanced on her. Scarlet blood was seeping out from the torn scales and while she put a small pool of darkness on it, pain was still shooting up her leg. ‘Damned gorgon I felt sympathy for you bastard!’
Instinct kicked in, quite literally, and Onyx aimed a vicious kick at the gorgon. She felt it connect and a scream from the demon as it backed up. A cut appeared on the gorgons forehead and more black blood poured from the wound. ‘Not today b***h.’ Again and again she kicked the demon with her hooves and more dents and appeared in the gorgons head but it still didn’t back down from its horrible crawling. Onyx had grit her teeth to not scream out in pain as the wound on her leg seared with pain. “Get. Your. Claws. Off. ME.” As she said each word she landed a kick but she knew it was futile. Now she could only hope one of the other “students” could kill it before it reached her and tore her throat out…
