🅪 | Background of GulfClan | 🅫
"It all started with a little, quiet, but adventurous kit. His name? Gulfkit. As time went on- he became an apprentice. Yes, yes, that's right. Gulfpaw! But- he had lived when there were two rival clans- no, no, not us! Him! Gulfpaw- He lived in another clan. It's far, far away from us. Well, soon, he became a warrior, a great and a fierce warrior named Gulfthorn. He met a rouge, whom he liked- no, loved. The two became mates. Gulfthorn was well respected at that time- but this? This was too much.
It was breaking the warrior code, and disobeying the leader. The two cats decided to journey away. Oh! And the rogue's name was Night. She became Nightsong. Together, the two adventurous cats went on a journey- yes. That journey had made GulfClan. We were met by rouges- a whole band of them. But they welcomed us in and this is our home now. Can you imagine? Our great leader once being such a trouble maker! Ha! But he has been sad ever since Nightsong died. But he is a great leader nonetheless. Now, is Gulfstar calling us? Oh dear. Come, little kit. We are traveling again.”
🅪 | Territory of GulfClan | 🅫
Gulfclan calls their home on the gulf, amongst the sands and forest that borders it. Their territory is lush with plant life outside of the sands, providing them with the herbs they need but also providing them with plenty of materials for dens and nests. There are plenty of cliffs amongst the forest portion of their home, some that tower over the waters below, cats are often advised to be cautious while close to the ledges as they are often unstable and one wrong pawstep can cause them to be tumbling down to the water below. Their territory also contains rivers that feed out into the sea, that wind about the forest, and some that turn into small waterfalls as the river feeds off the edges of cliffs. There are some shores that contain only slippery and rough rocks that even the most skilled warriors still struggle to keep their footing on, but the rocks are often the perfect place when it’s sun high to sun fur or dry off. Amongst the beach there are some spots that contain small pools of water once the tide goes down, and these pools often collect fish that get trapped in them, these pools often used for apprentices to practice fishing before they move on to the rivers and other water sources. Another border is plain woodland and a small twoleg road runs through it. The Clan has argued before about stretching their territory all the way to the road, but Gulfstar had disagreed, as the clan was just settling.
Often the cats are secluded only ever encountering other cats or encountering the occasional predator, very rarely do twolegs seem to be spotted except out on their water monsters, but even then the twolegs seem to keep to the water and very rarely they come to shore, but even then the twolegs aren’t sticking round long on the shore, and often are gone within an hour. With that though the clan never is having to worry about being driven from their home often, only ever having to leave when the tide gets really bad and having to wait till it goes down to be able to return. The ocean waters vary depending on the beach in when it starts to get deeper, but most of the beaches have shallow enough waters for the cats to swim without much worries. One beach to the south has its floor made out of a beautiful and colorful coral reef that is good for hunting, but cats have to take caution there, especially since the coral can cut their paws easily.

Most cats go to the gathering, the only exception are kits and queens. Every one else goes, unless they are sick and/or the medicine cat wants to keep them in camp because of an injury, illness, etc. Some cats, if they misbehave, they will not go. If there is a warrior vigil, they will do it the next night, otherwise, only two warriors will guard the camp, alongside the cats that have to stay in camp. At the gathering, the leader and deputy, sometimes with the medicine cat, will talk about things that are happening. || Sootspeckle, called Soot before joining the Clan, has been a loner since she was old enough to look after herself, and doesn't remember much about her kithood. She met Raven in a quiet glade a few seasons before Frostkit was born. The pair had decided to try and find a Clan to live with when she learned she was expecting kits. However, Raven was hit by a monster on a thunderpath about a moon before she was due to kit. Sootspeckle found herself kitting alone just outside GulfClan territory. After burying her stillborn daughter, Crow, she forced herself to carry on to find safety for Frostkit. She was given the name Sootspeckle not long after joining the Clan. ||
