This is a planning page for a clan that I plan on making. Mostly just jotting down ideas.
History: A cat named Timber was chosen to create the clan. The land could be a place that used to have a ton of rogues living in the area and they would fight constantly. Or a group of cats came to the area and settled it.
Territory Ideas:
Dense forest with maybe some nearby swampland or some hills/rugged terrain.
Large forest located at the base of a mountain
Weather is moderate but has moments of being unpredictable
Landmarks:
Scarred/Bunt tree: Tree that was struck by lighting years ago and never recovered or a fire happened and the tree never recovered. Could be a sacred place or something cursed that the cats avoid. Another idea could be evil cats or those who wronged the clan are buried here and if you sleep here a DF cat will visit you in your dreams
Training Area
Romantic/Date Place area maybe? A weeping willow tree or a tall hill/cliff
Popular hunting ground
Another dangerous area
Insert large or small body of water here
Place to commune with Starclan
What if there was a spot where kittypets get dumped?
Secret tunnels?
Clan ideas:
Clan has possible connection to the trees?
Two different warrior ranks. One is for hunting/ambushing from the trees and the other deals with more ground hunting and fighting. There could be a rivalry between the two ranks.
Or the warriors just do ground and tree climbing and apprentices have to know a little bit of both. Mix of Thunderclan, Shadowclan and SKyclan traits perhaps.
Timberclan Cats are proud, active and adaptable. The clan is usually welcoming to outsiders but this could depend on the leader in charge.
Camp ideas
currently no ideas for sure. Maybe some cats like to sleep in the trees?
Possible Plots
Evil MC cat or just a MC who is influenced by DF cat to manipulate their clanmates.
The Clan leader has allowed a influx of outsiders to join the clan in order to allow new ideas and expand the gene pool a bit. This could lead to clan born cats to start trouble and blame the outsiders for things or for some charismatic outsider to try and take over the clan. I am open to either one.
Typical rogue group tries to drive out the clan or the leader tries to colonize the clan and create a empire? The leader could be a little crazy or just wants to own as much land as possible.
Other ideas include, sickness, predator attack, mysterious disappearances/murder mystery, poisoned water supply ect.
Unique Traditions and Holidays
Tree and ground racing?
A day to honor their ancestors and rejoice in the prosperity of the clan
Leaf collecting maybe esp during Leaf-Fall?
A special way to ask someone to be your mate?
Way to test apprentices to see if they are ready to become warriors.
Other ideas:
Maybe because the clan has been around for so long different cats and families have long standing rivalries and friendships with either each other or with the cats living outside of the clan.
Certain trees you aren't allowed to climb or scratch because some reason

Prey: Mice, birds, squirrels, rabbits, shrews, voles, fish and moles
Uncommon prey: lizards, snakes and frogs. Wild turkeys maybe
Predators: Foxes, badgers, bobcat/lynx? large birds of prey, coyotes, wolverines and maybe bears.

Snake River or Winding River
A large river that cuts through the forest and goes on for miles and miles. The river is usually peaceful though the waters can be treacherous after it rains. (Could add a fallen tree that acts as a bridge or some rocks)
Golden Meadow:
The Golden Meadow is located on the other side of the river. The meadow is filled with tall golden grasses and many different type of flowers. This area is popular place to hunt small mammals and to practice your ambushing or tracking skills. Occasionally, deer will come out to graze on the grass.
Moon Cave
Located far to the northwest inside a cliff is a cave that stretches seemingly forever. In order to prevent cats from getting lost, certain claw marks and markers have been left to show the way. Deep inside the cave is underwater spring that always appears glowing. This is where cats are able to comminute with Starclan
The Dead Tree
There is a tall burnt tree located far south of camp. The area around this area is dead and has a unusual smell. No one is quite sure why nothing grows in this area. Some cats believe this area is cursed and to be here for long periods will attract bad luck or spirits of the Dark Forest Sleeping in this area is said to cause terrible nightmares. Cats who have committed terrible sins are buried here.
Founders Tree?
A or maybe a group of trees where Timber and the orginal founders of Timberclan made the first claw marksto signify this was their land?

Two warrior ranks: Climbers and Grounders?
Climbers: Climbers are warriors who specialize in hunting and navigating through the trees. These cats have strong hind leg in order to climb the trees. Many cats take pride in this rank believing Timberclan started out as cats using the trees to hunt. Climbers also take turns standing guard in the trees and scouting out the land from the trees.
Grounders: Grounds are warriors who hunt and fight on the ground. This is for cats who aren't as well versed as climbing trees as the Climbers. They go after the prey on the ground and fight off intruders. These cats usually come in more diverse shapes though most have darker fur colors in order to blend in. Usually most cats are grounders?

I like Tribe of Falling Timber and Tribe of Sturdy Oak and Tribe of Endless Trees. So I'm guessing through the names that you want the tribe to be foresty and like Thunderclan kind of thing? Maybe for a camp, they can live in an old abandoned logging camp. The twolegs most likely abandoned it due to lack of funding rather than lack of trees to explain why there’s still an abundance of trees

I'll probably do that cause I've done it with another clan. Main building is where the leader and maybe the healers live. Barracks could be where Grounders and Climbers sleep. To-Bes could maybe be in a smaller building next to where the grounders and climbers sleep. Across from the barracks could be the kit mothers and elders could just be in another building.
Thanks Ember! My motivation for this rp has been up and down lol.
For the leader instead of a teller of pointed stones situation, I'm thinking when a cat becomes leader they gain the suffix of some kind of tree like Blue Oak Doe Willow or just something simple like Berry Tree.
The "deputy" role could be the successor or a group of 2-4 healers choose who is next in line to be leader and they are trained
Just had an idea that to-bes could be called Saplings or Sprouts but idk if that is corny or not lol.

Maybe to incorporate the trees into having a connection with the cats, if a cat is destined to be a good grounder/climber/ or maybe a sign the healers look for is if a kit is born and a leaf falls and lands on their head it's a sign of having the forest approval? And so that cat usually gets put on the path to be the successor, with the restriction of only two cats can be "forest blessed" at a given time the leader and then the successor?

I'm thinking Ancient cat names also I'm glad people are interested! I'll start working on things Wednesday/Thursday and the rp should be done by the weekend maybe.
Would anyone like to hear the main plot I have in mind? It's not fully fleshed out yet but I'm working on it.

Main Plot idea: Basically the former leader who was set to soon retire dies due to unknown reasons. One of the healers convinces the clan and maybe the other healers that their ancestors told them that one of the grounders/climbers is destined to be leader. And maybe one of the healers who was maybe suppose to be next next in line also conveniently dies or disappears.
What the clan doesn't know is that the healer and the new leader planned this out as a power grab. I'm thinking the healer is either evil or maybe just an ambitious/selfish cat who wants to control the clan but didn't want to be leader themselves. The new leader starts slowly changing things starting small with maybe more training and gaining more territory, more patrols but things slowly start getting more severe.
One of the healers knows something is up but is trying to find proof so they enlist the help of other warriors to help and this could cause a split within the clan when things start getting worse.
There could be a prophecy like beware the (Blank) that threatened the trees or like something cryptic
I'll consider it Bright but may I raise you Roots and Branches. Healers could be the leaves.

Thoughts on the leader being called the canopy cause that is what the top of the tree is called.
Elders could be stumps and queens can be sprout mothers.
