“When Thunder, Shadow, River, Wind, and Sky crumbled, Echofeather knew a cat must be put in charge, and after a vote between all the survivors, they voted her. Echofeather recalled a story she heard once, about when the territories around the lake were created. There was a cave, a cave where a badger named Midnight lived…

So, it starts with Echofeather, a mysterious she-cat who rises above all to continue the reign of the clans. After many years of searching, she finds the mountains. The tribes welcome her, and her crew. This is that story.
It begins in the earliest years of Echoclan- When they are first brought to the mountain region by Starclan -when they stumble upon the tribes. The tribe of Rushing Water welcome them with open paws. "The Tribe of Endless hunting foretold us of your arrival." Their stoneteller told Echofeather. Echofeather had then vowed to leave peacefully in search of a home of Echoclan's own.
After days of searching, they found a large cavern. Many years ago, it had been inhabited by a bear, but they were long gone. There were dens, and a ledge for meetings. It was perfect. It of course, took ages for them to call it "home" but t that time it was the perfect place for them all to stay.
Years had past, and leaders came and passed. Warriors began to come up with traditions and activities. It was until that point, until they discovered something- someone, amazing.
Midnight, a great badger, had been discovered by the one they called the "seer" who would travel to take care and communicate with Midnight.
As time has passed, a new generation had begun. With their leader, Mothstar, deputy, Nettlefang and seer Opaltail, they hope to find themselves in a better life for Echoclan. Better than the clan's will have been.

Starclan didn’t approve of Echofeather’s choice of location for their new clan. The stars fled from the sky and stopped sharing tongues with them.

The branch of whispers is an old willow tree near Midnight’s den on a patch of grass. It reaches up out of the cave and into the daylight. The leader uses it to receive 8 lives from their ancestors. They do not receive the traditional 9 lives because of the loss of Starclan. Medicine cats and Seers also use it to, every moon, communicate with ancestors from a place they claim is called The Tribe of Endless Hunting. Midnight has told the cats that these ghosts are not to be ignored but to be respected.

- “Though immortal, Midnight does age. Therefore, Echoclan cats created someone called The Seer. The Seer takes care of Midnight (hunts, heals, and communicates for them since their voice loss)
- There are two types of warriors- Landhunters and Cavedwellers. Landhunters go above ground and hunt, patrol borders, and fight off predators. Cavedwellers reinforce safety inside the caves, keep them clean, and prepare the caves for festivals or vigils.
- Every ten moons, the clan has a celebration. Landhunters and Cavedwellers play games together. Midnight attends the celebration and oversees games.
