(Sorry for the poof earlier I started feeling kinda sick. I made vodka sauce for pasta and I didn't cook it long enough and I dont drink due to anxiety and depression so I think I got buzzed.) Z cocked her head. "Will I get sick?" She felt clammy. Her stomach rumbled. She felt some weird rush of saliva in her mouth. She got up and rushed to the bathroom where every little bit of food she just ate flew out of her body. And at thay she cried. Even outside of the lab she couldn't eat and get nutrients and strength. [[ ugh, i know the feeling. i'm sorry. ]] Eleven hurried after her, standing in the doorway as she puked, and then running over and flushing the toilet once she slumped down next to it, crouching and reaching a hand out to put it on her shoulder. "It will be okay," she said softly, not sure what else to tell her.

Ghostling had come into sight of the two people as one yelled out. She squealed again and froze, her glow slightly dull. She was visible and she couldn't seem to get herself to not be. Her tiny body was trembling and she couldn't get her legs to move. Her glow began to fluctuate as she grew more afraid of the two and she slowly began to move, starting to go run off again. "Hey!" Josh yelled out again, as whoever or whatever this was started running, the glow ebbing and then growing again. It was definitely a girl, from the size and the sound of it, but why the hell was she glowing...? In a split second decision, Josh started running after it, flicking his pocketknife's blade back, but not putting it into his pocket just yet.

Ghostling heard the sound of someone chasing her and turned invisible, glow and all. She hit behind a tree, her breathing heavy and her body growing weak. She was hungry and tired and in no shape to be exerting herself like this. She slid down to sit at the base of the tree and she became visible again since she couldn't keep up the invisibility

She felt weaker than before for now even the pop tart was gone. Her stomach was completely empty again. She sighed and slumped up against the bath tub, the slight color she was gaining fading once.more.

Shane frowned at Josh's choice of action. You never walk towards something unknown, let alone run at it! Even if it was a girl, she wan't normal. He couldn't leave Josh there if something happened, though. Slowly and with light footsteps, he followed, catching up to Josh quickly, just because of his actual stride length. His eyes were fixated on the glowing being, but he still kept an ear out for anything else that might be around. What the hell was this thing, though? It gave him a weird chill, like maybe a sense of dread or something? Either way, the air felt different when looking at it, and he'd never experienced this before. When it all straight up vanished, he frowned, a bit confused and stopped in his tracks. Was it something paranormal? He honestly believed in that stuff, so maybe it was a wandering spirit? Maybe so, but he did not sheath his knife or let his guard down.

Rubt's eyes narrowed. "...that's a little suspicious. Why all of these random disappearances? Something is going on. Don't you think?" She fiddled with the bracelet. What could have become of all of their loved ones?

"Yeah, it is," Kayla agreed then looked back at the chips that had fallen on her, thinking. "Something is going on... This all really can't be a coincidence, I don't think." She shook her head and looked back at Ruby. "But even if something is happening, there is nothing we can do about it." She had thought for a while that stranger things were happening around Hawkins than usual, but being a freshman in high school, what could she do? Investigate? Actually....maybe she could, if she had help. "Want to find out what's happening with me?" She asked suddenly.

Ruby blinked. Everyone said Charlie was dead but what if she was able to find him? What if he had just disappeared...she could find him. She nodded. "Let's do it. But how? Where do we start?"

"I have no idea..." Kayla said and tapped a finger to her chin, thinking. Well, in crime shows, they always start at the crime scene to gather any clue or possible evidence. Maybe we should go to where Charlie's jacket was first, and then where my dad's blood was?" she suggested, suddenly very serious about it all. If she could figure out what happened to her father, for real, it would bring a lot of closure and maybe relief. She knew he would never let a bear get him. He was way too good of a hunter, and way too smart. "What's your name, by the way? You never told me, but if we are going to be working together, I should have something to call you."

(Sorry been working since 7 am forum time)
Ruby nodded slowly. This could work...maybe the cops missed something. Maybe if she could figure out where he went after that she'd know if he was alive or dead for sure. She nodded in agreement. "We can try it. And my name is Ruby."

No problem ^^)
"Ruby, huh? It's pretty," Kayla complimented with a friendly smile. "Nice to meet you. Now, let's pay for our stuff and meet up back here after we take our things home, alright?" she suggested. That way, they didn't leave the store empty handed, and they didn't have to carry random items around on an investigation in the woods either.

(My day was a what just happened kind of day)
Ruby nodded. "Deal. Meet behind the building? Bring a flashlight, map and compass?" She held.out her hand.

Oh, I get those, too. I hope it wasn't too bad, though)
"I will," Kayla agreed and took her hand, shaking it. "Bring a pocket knife too, if you can. You never know what's out there." With that last possibly creepier-than-need-be sentence, she grabbed her bag of chips and soda and went to the counter. After paying, she walked out and waved back at Ruby before disappearing behind the building.
Btw, if you want me here quicker, just like my posts.)

Ruby paid for her items and ran home. She slipped into her house as quietly as she could. Not thay anyone would notice or remember if they did in the morning. They were too deep in the bottle to care. She grabbed a bag and stuffed into it a flashlight that she finally found rummaging through her drawers. She grabbed her compass and map. Then she frowned. Knife...it'd be in her step dad's...pocket. she gulped. A kitchen knife may work better....

Kayla ran home with her things, cutting through the woods like normal. She made it home just fine and unlocked the door then tiptoed inside, not sure if her brother was home or not. If he was, he would be furious at her for sneaking out like she had. She looked around the house, but he didn't seem to be back yet. Weird. However, she shrugged it off as a long walk tonight and put her things in her room, then gathered what she promised to bring, shoving it all besides the knife in her backpack, but she also stuffed a hand gun into the bag as well, just in case. She made sure to write a quick note this time, not sure how long she'd be gone. it basically said that Shane could be mad later but that she wasn't kidnapped from the house. After leaving it on the fridge door, she left once again and headed for the store.

Ruby walked down the hall her back pressed against the wall, trying to be as silent as possible. Both adults were passed out on the coich, bottles littering the coffee table. She could see most were empty by the flickering light of the TV. She slowly opened a kitchen drawer and withdrew the biggest knife she could see. She wrapped rhe blade in a washcloth and shoved it in her bag. She slowly tiptoes back to the door and quietly closed it behind her. She ran back to the store.

Kayla waited around back, pocket knife in hand in case anyone else other than Ruby showed up. By instinct, she was a bit wary of Ruby even, but she did her best to shrug that off. Every little noise that happened, she was tuned into. Her eyes always shifted that way and fingers clutched the handle of the knife tightly. She looked calm on the outside, but inside, her heart was constantly pumping adrenaline as she waited in the dark.

Kayla's eyes shifted quickly at the sound of rapidly approaching footsteps, but she relaxed at the sight of Ruby's shape in the darkness in which her eyes had adjusted well. Still, she held the knife. "I'm ready. Lead the way," she told the older girl. She wondered what they really would find at the scene of Charlie's disappearance.

Ruby headed off in the direction of her and a Charlie's secret meeting place. It felt wrong to bring another here especially with Charlie missing or possibly dead.... but if she wanted to find him she had to do whatever it took. It was a bit of a walk and the moon kept going being the clouds making it a very dark night.

Kayla followed along behind with her knife tight in hand, but she refused to use the flashlight yet. She worried that they may be caught if she used it - caught by her brother or a stranger - it didn't matter. "Pretty dark, isn't it?" she inquired quietly. "That's good for keeping us hidden." If Charlie happened to be murderer, too, well, the killer could still be around. Being paranoid was ingrained in her brain.

"Probably nothing too horrific," Kayla said and went on ahead, finally digging out her flashlight and turning it on. One had to use such a device for searching the forest floor in the dark, even if she didn't like using it. "We won't find a body or anything. Police would have found that first if there was one near by. We might find traces of dried blood, though, or remnants of his jacket, maybe something unexpected. Don't worry. We really shouldn't mind anything very gruesome." She kept it as just a thought, but she wondered if Ruby was at all squeamish about blood. If she was, this investigation might not get too far...

Ruby swallowed and rooted through her bag for her flashlight. She flicked it on and began to sweep the light around the forest floor and the trees. She paused. "Look!'' There was a weird good all over a tree trunk, a pool of the stuff at the base of the tree. "What the heck is that?''

Kayla had been walking away, searching for where the jacket might have been lying, but she turned quickly at Ruby's call. Quickly, she came over and crouched by the tree, shining the light on the goo. "I don't know. I've never seen anything like this before," she said then started digging through her bag. She produced a plastic sandwich bag and scalpel. She then carefully scraped off some of the goo and wiped it off into the bag. Her eyes widened as the part she scraped off began to regenerate almost instantly. "The hell?"

Ruby stiffened. "This isn't some kind of slug trail..." She grabbed a stick and poked the slime. It engulfed the edge of the stick, moving up it toward her hand. She shrieked and dropped it and her flashlight on the ground, wiping her hands on her coat even though nothing touched it. She bent down to pick up her flashlight and noticed a root of the tree sticking out of the ground covered in dried blood.
