Boz w/ Wonder (Light) Location // The BarnBoz kept his attention on Wonder, sharp and a bit more focused now that he has prey in his system. It's always odd, that. A few minutes ago, and he'd felt a bit weak, but excited to get prey... his focus had been a bit lopsided as well. Now, he's perfectly, starkly clear, like water in a shining puddle that perfectly reflects the clouds and blue sky. Boz felt a tinge of relief he didn't dissuade, or force Wonder by accident with his sudden spark of an idea. He watched her with a more clear eye now, ear twinging when he noticed her sudden tinge of.. excitement.. that shifted to nervous. Worry. Wonder Worry. The tom's tail swished behind him in an idle ark, looking Wonder over carefully. "It is pleasant. Moss grows in plenty of places, even around the farm. There might even be some outside.. near those 'Bins'?" He suggests quietly, seeming to pick up a tad of what she's thinking, her tilted ears a sign of the worry. Her ears don't normally tilt unless she's nervous, or.. say- ah, embarrassed. He'd vouch for nervous. It was.. well, he figured out "Wonder." Boz starts, his bleached and black fur ruffling a tinge at the cold, stale air of the barn. His ears perk a tad at the voices of other cats in the barn, maybe even hearing a familiar, fox like laugh somewhere in the distance. "I know.. the forest can be intimidating. It's large, it's unknown." He says, tail flicking, "But, after a while, when you.. learn about it, explore and such. It's like the Barn. It was an unknown when you first came here, wasn't it? It was intimidating. That's what the forest will be like. But once you've explored, and I'll show you ever little nook and cranny if you'd like.. It becomes familiar. Even with how big it is, it'll seem not so bad after a while." He explains, giving an encouraging flick of his ears. "Even me and Spackle- and Zee.. and Lada- well, we all took a while to get used to the forest." He adds, looking around idly. It was something to get used to, when he first stepped a paw into the forest. The most space he'd ever been in was a twoleg's machine. That's how he ended up on the side of the street. Well, in the middle of it anyway. Before that, he doesn't remember much. He was still too young- but he remembers Spackle finding him not too long after. The forest had been scary. "The.. the first time I went into the forest I was terrified." Boz adds after a moment, glancing up towards the beams of the Barn for a moment. Boz knows he's a bit of.. well, he can accidently get himself a bit hurt, he's an explorer.. even if it's not particularly safe. Wonder, he thinks, is a good balance to that. He's self aware enough to know that, even if he's not super keen on saying such out loud.
(The font looks nice! It goes well with the purple! I'm tryna few more out myself to see which one fits with Bozzy boi.) (And sorry if this one is a bit long xD Inspiration hits at random.)

WonderLocation: Barn With: Boz ( soot ) Wonder's thought process vanished when Boz spoke again, and she looked up at him with vague surprise. "On the farm too? Enough to make a nest out of?" Wonder sounded a tad skeptical, but she lifted her gaze to the side as she tried to think of anywhere around the old bins that she might have stumbled across it without realizing. At the sound of her name, her green eyes grew wide and met Boz's gaze. The other voices became nothing more than background murmurings as Wonder awaited whatever Boz desired to tell her. She couldn't quite explain it, but it always gave her a sort of excitement whenever someone used her name. Just hearing it would instantly demand her full attention, even if it was when she was in trouble. Sometimes she'd be walking through the barn with her usual routine and get distracted when some nearby cats speak of 'wondering', or the 'wonder's' of life and other similar but unintentional references to her name. But Boz would speak her name and use it in normal speech on purpose. She loved it when he did that. She listened to him speak about how the forest could be intimidating, and her ears tilted back a little further at first. How had he known what she had been thinking? She hadn't even mentioned it. Was she that easy to read? Her tail curled in beside her and she glanced to the side. But as he continued to speak, her ears lifted a bit and her tail relaxed. He was right. The barn had been scary at first. At first, she had been too afraid to go far, and she would stick close to Alice and the other friendly cats of the barn. But as she got to know the area and braved travelling around a little, she became used to it and it became... home. "You're right," she murmured, dipping her head in a slow nod. Her earlier worries had eased back away into the shadowed corners of her mind, and her expression became one akin to gratitude. She often got distracted with worries, it was nice to have someone to help remind her of rationale. "One pawstep at a time, right?" She mewed with one of her closed-eyed smiles. Her ear twitched at the next part and she returned her gaze to Boz. She had known about Spackle and Zee, but Lada was one she had only ever heard mentioned before. She debated bringing it up, but decided not to when he went on to share his own experience. Her ears tilted sympathetically and she smiled softly. She leaned forward and set her head on her paws, tilted so she could look at Boz. "Is that back when you used to stick close to Spackle?" she asked, recalling something he had said to her a few days ago. Back then, she had been surprised to hear that Boz could be afraid. Even now, looking at his idle self, it was hard to believe that this adventurous lover of heights could ever be afraid.
(No worries. XD I totally get that.)

Gardenia and Wisteria Location: Forest With: Frazzle ( Light) Gardenia looked a bit surprised when Frazzle placed one of his mice in front of her, her tail flicking slightly in a bit of shock. Maybe this odd cat wasn't so bad, she didn't think many cats would be willingly sharing prey they'd caught themselves with strangers, especially not with the snow. She seemed to relax a bit, tucking her paws underneath her so she could eat easier. Wisteria glanced at her sister when Frazzle dropped his mouse in front of her, holding back a purr when she could tell Gardenia relaxed. She'd refrain from telling her sister she told her so in front of Frazzle. She just crouched down, and was about to take a bite when he looked up and thanked... something for the meal. "Who are you talking to?", she asked curiously. She'd never known a cat to thank... the sky? for their meal. Spark Location: The Farm With: Sprite ( soot) Spark chuckled slightly. He figured competitions sounded... weird to the cats. "Yeah, competitions. I do agility and sheep herding trials.", he said. "Agility is basically... an obstacle course of sorts, and you're timed. When spring comes back around, the farmer sets up a course outside for me to practice.", he said. "It's fun, and I've won quite a few. I always get big treats and chews when I win.", he said. "And sheep herding is what it sounds like, those are a bit more slow, mostly about being able to control sheep well.", he said. "But I always love those because I get to see my parents or littermates sometimes.", he said, his tail wagging at the thought. He'd seen his mother, Luck, at the last trial he'd done in the summer, and he'd even been allowed to hang around with her a bit to catch up. She'd been glad to hear he was doing well, as she'd always doted on him, being the runt. "Well, that's all you gotta do.", he said at her mention of wanting to help. "No one expects you to clean the whole barn yourself. Everyone's got a job, and now you do too.", he said with another tail wag. ((If I ever contradict myself with anything, just like, ignore it lol. I can't remember half of what I've had anyone say at any point.))

(I'm gonna snap a winter edition of this guy one of these days. Then you guys'll see his thick winter coat. ^^) FrazzleLocation: Forest With: Wisteria and Gardenia ( runningsky123 ) "Hm?" Frazzle glanced up, chewing blankly for a moment. "Oh!" The orange and white tom swallowed and licked his lips. "To the mouse, to life, fate maybe? To everything? Or maybe nothing at all. To be honest, I'm not sure. It's just sorta something I picked up. I saw someone do it once, and it just... made sense, you know? I mean, food is delicious! And it always makes me happy when I've got some." His tail flicked cheerily beside him. "And these little lives give us such delectable sustenance, so... yeah. What isn't there to thank, right?" He flashed her a grin after his explanation and went on to take his next bite, his ears wiggling happily as he enjoyed his meal. It didn't take long before he finished it off. (No worries! All's been good as far as I can see.)

Bozw/ Wonder (Light ) Location // The Barn
Boz returned Wonder's ever familiar close-eyed smile with just a tinge of his own. He's happy to notice she looks quite a bit less worried, which was the goal. The tom's tail flicked, looking over Wonder in an idle thought as he spoke, and eventually until Wonder asked her own question. The cat nodded a small up-n-down motion, tail swishing side to side. "It is. I was still young, and much smaller than now. I actually hadn't even been past the nursing stage." He adds, paws shifting on the squishy odd-twoleg-material under his three goods paws. "The trees seemed like they could reach the clouds, and the animals I'd never seen before.. Not the mention. The wind was what scared me most. An useable force, that I could feel, but couldn't see?" He decides to add, thinking back to when Spackle had him by the scruff, and had trekked through the forest, and close to the base of the rocky mountains. A friend of Spackle had left their usual dwelling in the forest and twoleg town, to grieve somewhere solitary. That's Canna, the one he made sure he survived. She'd lost her own kits, not too long before, and was the only one Spackle would trust with him. After spending a good amount of time with Canna, his scent is still tinged just a tad with her autumn leaves.
Sprite listened intently, ears twitching and swiveling. A competition.. sounds like it'd be tiring for her. But she knows plenty of other cats have fun with those types of things, dogs too from the sounds of it. If she.. well, maybe she'll get better enough she could participate one one? The cream colored molly's tail twitched, her paw steps a tad quicker, glancing towards the steps the bigger animal made in the snow. She could fit.. probably two paws in there. Shaking her head, and lifting her attention when he replies to her words, ears perking up cheerily. "I'm glad I do, it felt-.. a bit odd, not doing a job to help when everyone else is doing something." Sprite meows, blinking, and dragging a leg through the snow, looking down as she flexed her paw, her claws popping out for a moment before it sunk back into the snow as she walked. Glancing back up, she considers taking his earlier offer of a ride on his back. (Sorry for the late replies! I hope you guys are all doing good!)

WonderLocation: Barn With: Boz ( soot ) Wonder let out a soft prrup when she opened her eyes in time to see his own smile. Her tail tip twitched leisurely between them, and she shifted slightly on the yellow material. She paused when he spoke and did a quick double take as she focused back on him. "Really?" Her eyes widened at his latest revelation. He was out there in the wilds that young? An involuntary shiver travelled down her spine and caused her fur to puff out a bit. As a kit she hadn't even dreamed of what might be beyond the farm as she nursed and nibbled from soft chunks of food saturated with a sweet white liquid. Her gaze drifted off in the direction of the entrance as he continued to speak. It was just barely visible in the corner of the gap in the gate. That was very true. The wind was a crazy thing to discover when she came to the outdoors; it was both beautiful and terrifying. Like Boz said, it was a force that couldn't be seen. Just when exactly had she began to take it for granted. She had a sudden urge to go out into the wind and re-instill her appreciation for it. A cat entered the barn and a few moments later, a very faint breeze shifted the air around them. It wasn't much, but the faint chill was noticeable. It reminded Wonder that winter probably wasn't the best time to enjoy the wind. Perhaps she should wait until it warmed outside before going looking for the wind. "And it was just something you got used to over time?" she mewed in question, glancing back at Boz after a moment.

Bozw/ Wonder (Light ) Location // The BarnThe tom's tail flicked at her quiet exclamation, giving a tinge of a tail nod in confirmation. It was indeed very, very true, and to this day, he's still barely got any idea why. Again, it's not as if it technically matters.. but the curiosity and unknowing will always be there. After he spoke again, his gaze out towards the other cats of the Barn, and the conveniently timed, slight gust of a cold breeze entering the barn. Just the right time, he supposes? Looking back over at Wonder's inquiry, his head tilted a tinge to the side. His eyes squinted just a tinge, green eyes looking into Wonder's own idly. Her eyes were brighter than his own. Though both green, his was.. more pale, hers was a more potent green, like the leaves on the trees in the forest, especially during the new blooming. Taking a moment to debate a response, he answers measuredly. "That's part of it. The other part.. I wanted to explore it. Spackle also helped majorly." Boz starts, bleached and black fur ruffling a tad. "He.. said that the more you know about something your scared of, you realize, that while it's scary, you're also.. similar. If I cut a leaf with my claw, as a thorn might me, it would hurt, and leave a scar. Neither me, or the forest wants that." Boz continues leisurely, but genuinely as he keeps his gaze fully on Wonder. "But we also support each other. They provide for us, and we can provide for them. For the land we live on." He adds, tail twitching, his bad paw gently lifting up as he accidentally leaned on it too much. "Zee said it also helped that I was a very curious kitten." Boz says, tone a tad amused, and an underlying purr to his words that rumbles for only a small moment.

what's this? me, doing replies? Whaaaaaat after two months i finally did it, and i added killer to the front finally as well! im hoping to become more active soon, just one more week of classes left c': Creamsicle »
In Creamsicle’s mind she was doing a rather good crouch. Her paws were steady and her muscles had slid into position with ease, and as she looked at Cotton it felt, to the kit, that she was perfectly copying the older molly’s stance. Perhaps if the crouch came this easily to Creamsicle then hunting wouldn’t be so bad. Perhaps she’d be able to take down prey without it suffering and crying out. Again, the memory of the rabbit’s screech chilled her blood even more so than the wintry wind that pushed across the moor. If she could just stop thinking about her littermate’s screech as the monster pounced on him sounding the same as the rabbit’s cry then hunting would be easy, hunting would be okay…
Cotton’s rumbling voice rustled against her ears. Creamsicle snapped back to reality, blue eyes shifting until they landed on the rogue molly. ”Oh,” Creamsicle breathed out, somewhat crestfallen upon hearing that her balance was a little off. She shifted against her paws, trying to equal out her weight, focusing more on her hind legs as Cotton had pointed out. ”Is this better?” She questioned hopefully, feeling a difference in her stance. The kit did feel more balanced than she did before, less awkward on her hind limbs despite having not felt weird until now.
With cream colored ears perked, Creamsicle watched as Cotton prowled across the snow covered ground as smooth as a snake. The young kit placed a front paw forward, eyes narrowing in concentration as she put it back down, slow and thoughtful. She began creeping forward, and while most of her paws fell silent along the ground, the crunching of snow here and there told her she wasn’t being as quiet as Cotton had just been. A frown twisted the kit’s features. ”How do you do it so easily?” She questioned with a puff of cold air escaping her jaws. The kit continued walking forward, not stopping until she came to stand right behind the older feline. She realized and understood that Cotton had been hunting for many seasons and had practiced her technique to perfection, but it still didn’t stop the bubble of frustration that fizzed in Creamsicle’s stomach. Why did it have to look so easy? Cotton would never teach her how to hunt hawks if Creamsicle couldn’t even learn how to stalk rabbits. The kit drew in a deep breath. She’d just have to keep trying and follow Cotton’s advice if she ever wanted to one day hunt hawks.
Solomon »
For a moment frustration prickled at the back of Solomon’s neck when Apple responded with a tired ‘I don’t know’. The ticked tabby already had a scornful set of words to speak, but his teeth clamped down on his tongue, the sharp prick of fangs against the sensitive flesh holding the statement back. It was good luck on Apple’s part that Solomon remained silent, and even better for the kittypet that he now had an actual answer to give.
Sure, Apple’s answer wasn’t a very detailed one, making it harder to narrow down a place for the plump tom to call home, but Solomon supposed that also meant there were more options available. This meant he didn’t have to try too hard to sell a nest to the kittypet. He breathed out into the cold air as he rolled his shoulders back, determined to find a home for Apple sooner rather than later. Twolegplace was already sprawled out before them. Being this close meant he usually heard the bustle of monsters and twolegs, but on a cold day such as this one it seemed that even the hairless creatures and their horrid beasts were curled up warm in their nests. For once they’re the smart ones, growled Solomon inwardly as he fluffed out his thin pelt against a cold breeze.
Shaking the bitter thoughts away Solomon busied himself with motioning Apple in the other direction. ”We’ll go this way. The thunderpath curves away from the twoleg nests this way.” Monsters still roamed the area but not as often or as close as they did down the other way, and the twoleg nests were spread further out apart, giving them more territory and space. Surely Apple’s ideal home would be down this way, Solomon could only hope.

Percy »
On a cold morning like this one warm prey was always a blessing. Warm prey like this also always tasted the best. Percy had no complaints as he dug into the meal, barely giving the bites enough time to sit upon his tongue before swallowing it down, purring happily as the warmth filled his belly and spread throughout the rest of his body. He sat there for a moment in silence, letting the warmth of a fresh meal course through him like a gentle breeze in newleaf. He took in a deep breath, content, and it was only the harsh sting of winter upon his nose that snapped him back to the reality he was in. ”Fresh prey’s always enjoyable,” he mused, ”especially fresh prey in the middle of a snowfall.”
The ginger and white tabby flicked his tail in a gesture toward all the fallen precipitation that surrounded them. Of course Smoke didn’t need to be reminded that snow was all around them. It was hard to forget that snow had fallen. The chill of the wind was enough to remind both cats of the winter that held its tight grip upon the land, and as a gust whistled through the trees, Percy fluffed out his pelt, the meal’s warmth fading. He’d take another bite or two to fill his stomach, but if he and Smoke wanted to get anywhere in their search, then they needed to leave sooner rather than later.
Alice »
It wasn’t every day that Alice spoke about the relationship between her parents. With her mother now dead and her father elderly - he was so old, in fact, that the farmer had been keeping him in the human’s nest with them rather than keeping him outside - the tortoiseshell didn’t have much exposure to her parents anymore. And Wonder had even less exposure to what their parents had been like, with Wonder having never met their mother in the first place. It was Alice who had raised Wonder when the twolegs had brought her back to the barn, and even now the tortoiseshell still felt as if she were more of a parent to the calico than she was a sister.
She shook her head, freeing herself of these thoughts. The complications of her familial relationships was not the topic Binx had spoken of. ”She loved him a lot,” the dark furred molly responded simply. ”And he loved her a lot as well, enough so that he wanted us to move here. Though, I don’t think it would have taken Twilight much to want to move from the pines; after all, she had a litter on the way, and prey was getting scarce in the pines, so she made the obvious choice.” Twilight, Alice and Wonder’s mother, had raised a litter once before in the pines, but raising a second would have proven harder. Twilight was older and prey was harder to find. Having the kits at the barn had been hard enough on Twilight - she had lost her life - and all but one of the kits had been lost as well. Alice could only wonder if her only surviving younger sibling would have pulled through if she had been born out in the pines instead.
Standing off to the side of the hay bale to give Binx some room, Alice watched from above as the other molly readied herself. The jump was a high one, but with a lot less room for error, at least in Alice’s opinion. She was used to traversing the barn by way of the bales, leaping from one to the other to get from place to place. And should she make a mistake in her judgment or a paw should slip, falling was no big deal. There would always be a bale of hay somewhere to lighten the fall.
Once Binx made it up Alice gave her an approving nod. ”Wasn’t that bad, now was it?” She questioned with the slightest hint of a tease in her words, having noticed the slight hesitation the black molly had had earlier.

Wila »
Victory was pounding through Wila’s entire body, setting her heart afire and swelling in her chest. She shivered in ecstasy rather than cold, her body trembling with the thrill of having caught her first prey.
”I can’t believe I caught something,” she breathed out proudly, nudging Flame in excitement as the tomcat came to sit beside her. The brown kittypet shifted on her paws to lean in closer to his familiar presence, beyond happy that it was Flame here with her. This was a moment she was glad to be sharing with some other cat, especially her newfound friend.
Without waiting another moment, the warm scent of fresh-kill tickling at her nose and making her mouth water, Wila leaned forward and sunk her fangs into the haunch of the mouse. The flavors flooded her tongue and sent shivers down her spine - it had a similar flavors to the meals her humans prepared for her and Chai, but there was something extra to the mouse that Wila had never experienced before, something more gamey, something more primal. She swallowed. ”It’s amazing!” She breathed, turning to look at Flame with eyes wide and shining with wondrous excitement.

WonderLocation: Barn With: Boz ( soot ) Wonder nodded faintly at Boz's words, keeping his gaze as he seemed to keep hers. When he mentioned slitting a leaf and the prick of a thorn, she winced a bit at the thought. Then one of her ears tilted as she contemplated his words, a hint of a new concern forming in her mind. The land... was alive? It supported them? She had never heard someone speak about the forest as if it could think and feel like a cat. She'd heard Alice talk about life out in the pine forest. It was amazing how cats could live out there, feeding on slim pickings and always fighting to survive. But herself? She had never been out there. She had never done anything for the land. Why would it ever feel like doing anything for her? "Trees feel pain..?" she asked, the concern clear in her gaze. If there was anything she learnt from all the stories she heard, it was that forests were full of trees. What if she stepped on too many leaves? Would the trees be mad at her? How did cats ever survive out there without bothering trees~ without ever accidentally impaling a leaf with a claw, or stepping on a root the wrong way? Wonder's eyes widened as she continued to think about it, her gaze lowering and growing distant. Could trees move? When they were upset with a cat, did they snake out their roots and drag them underground? Or maybe their branches caught and trapped their offenders, refusing to let them escape. Wonder's fur puffed out at the thought and she quickly shook her head. No! Of course trees couldn't do that. She was sure she would've heard stories about it if they had... right?(Oh no. Wonder, don't go down the rabbit hole- oh. She's gone.) --- CottonLocation: Moor (Near Cotton’s Den) With: Creamsicle ( Feathertalon ) "Good. Yes, that's very good." Cotton affirmed when Creamsicle adjusted her weight. She glanced behind her to watch Creamsicle creep along the snow, impressed that such a young cat originating from the twolegplace could catch on so quick. She must have the blood of a hunter in her somewhere, even if she didn't seem to be terribly fond of the idea. "Practice," Cotton replied simply, turning toward Creamsicle after the kit had come to a stop and touching one of the tiny one's eartips with her nose. It was meant to be an encouraging gesture. "Keep practicing that form, and one day, no one will be able to hear you coming." The brown molly had a pleased shine in her eye as she spoke. This age was a good time to start instilling basic techniques. They would come in handy for the kit's future. Cotton lifted her head in a slow pan over the vast stretch of white around them. They had made it quarter of the way around the depression where Cotton's den dwelt. Her short bristly fur prickled at the chill in the air, but thankfully she felt like she had more energy than she'd had for days. It was all thanks to this kit who had dropped into her life just the other day. She wasn't sure exactly what it was. Maybe it was the extra warmth at night, maybe the company, or perhaps it was having another kit to watch over that reminded her of her youth. A thought occurred to her. "You know one reason I love the moors?" She asked, her breath coming out in a white mist before drifting off and dissipating into the air. Her gaze had settled on the distant horizon, but after a few moments, she glanced down to meet Creamsicle's gaze. (She lives! Welcome back Feather! ^^ And thanks for adding Killer.)

[ two finals down, one more to go /owo/ ] Creamsicle »
Learning how to hunt couldn't be that hard. Creamsicle's mother knew how to hunt, and she had hunted well. Hunger had not been something the mostly white kit had worried about until just a few days ago, before Cotton had discovered her pathetic form curled up in the bushes near the border where forest met moorland. Even when Splash talked about hunting to her kits it had sounded like an easy task, something that any cat naturally knew how to do. But right now, Creamsicle didn't feel like a natural. Her crouch felt balanced now, but she wondered if she would be able to keep it that way. What if she messed up her crouch during a hunt and it ruined the kill? What if she went after a rabbit one day, hunting on her own without Cotton at her side, and struggled to make the fatal blow that would end the rabbit's life? A shiver ran down her spine, and not a shiver that originated from the cold air that swirled around her.
The kit's jaw tightened. Her tail twitched. Once again she found herself in a storm of conflict, both excited about the prospect of learning to hunt while also terrified of learning how to hunt. Maybe if she just practiced with Cotton and didn't try to actually hunt until she knew she could make a swift kill she'd be alright. And until she learned how to perfectly hunt she would keep Cotton's den clean between practice. Surely that wouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
These pondering reveries she had traversed into were paused as Cotton's voice drifted over to Creamsicle, a question in the air. The kit perked her ears and turned curious blue eyes onto the old molly. Her head tilted to the side, questioning. That wasn't something she had expected; if anything, she had expected Cotton to ask her something about hunting and Creamsicle would have to search for the right answer, but this was a question that no matter how she answered, survival wouldn't depend on it.
The kit shifted on her paws, fluffing out her fur against the crisp wind that carried the scent of snow. "You love it because..." Creamsicle paused, eyes narrowing in thought. What could be a reason for why Cotton loved the moor? Surely it had something to do with hunting given the lesson that had just transpired. "You love it because you like rabbit?" Her head tilted even further as she eyed Cotton, wondering and curious to learn of the ticked tabby's response.

Gardenia and Wisteria Location: Forest With: Frazzle ( Light) Wisteria looked amused slightly after his explanation. It didn't make... total sense to her, but every cat was different. Frazzle was also definitely an interesting cat, so she supposed if anyone had some interesting beliefs, it would be him. She just nodded slightly, before turning to her own mouse, taking a bite, savoring the taste as she chewed. She was just glad they were finally getting more food, and glad they'd found someone nice enough to gladly share. Spark Location: The Farm With: Sprite ( soot) Spark had been noticing she'd been slowing down slightly, stopping when he saw her glance at him. He didn't even say anything, just laid down, flattening himself out as much as he could so she could hop up easily. "Well now you don't have to worry about feeling like that anymore.", he said, glancing at her. Flame Location: The Forest With: Wila ( Feathertalon) Flame purred softly at her excitement, waiting for her to take a bite before he did. It tasted better than the prey Shadow had given him, definitely because it was fresh and still warm. He chewed it slowly, savoring it, before he made a show of dramatically licking his lips. "That was the best mouse I've ever tasted. Does help it's fresh too.", he said. "Fresh prey always tastes better.", he said.

(You've got this, Feather! ) CottonLocation: Moor (Near Cotton’s Den) With: Creamsicle ( Feathertalon ) Cotton's naturally sharp yellow eyes were glittering with a flicker of youth. When Cotton's eyes settled on the the white kit at her side, she saw that some of the tension had drained from the young molly's form. Creamsicle's small pale face was tilted thoughtfully as she offered her response. Cotton gave an amused huff at the kit's reply. "Well, you aren't wrong. I do like my rabbit," she admitted with a swish of her tail just above the snow. Cotton arched her back in a stretch, then bowed in another stretch, her front claws sinking through the snow. After their short walk, her muscles felt... satisfactory. "But I was referring to something else, something us moor dwellers, including the rabbits, grow to love. In a land so open and free, it's the closest we come to flying." Cotton rose from her stretch and glanced back at Creamsicle. "Running." Cotton's long limber legs stretched out and she leapt forward. Her paws hit the ground once, twice, three, four times~ relishing the stretch of her legs and feel of the air against her fur. Though it was cold, she knew the movement would soon generate enough warmth to counter. She slid to a stop, causing snow to fling into the air. Her head swung around to look at Creamsicle. Cotton's ears were held high, and her tailtip twitched in a beckoning gesture. "Care to join me?" She wasn't so old that she'd give up on running quite yet. It was a blissful freedom that she dearly hoped her old bones would never deny her. Additionally, it was something her kits had loved to do with her and with each other~ and thank the stars it had made them so much easier to deal with after. She wanted to see if Creamsicle would be similar in this manner. Unfortunately the kit had no siblings to play with, but perhaps something like this would do good for them both. --- FrazzleLocation: Forest With: Wisteria and Gardenia ( runningsky123 ) Satisfied with the warm mouse in his belly, Frazzle stood and stretched with a pleased churr. His fur puffed, then flattened as he sat casually on his haunches. He began to groom some of his tangled and matted fur as he waited for the sisters to finish. Halfway through gnawing at a certain mat on his side, he noticed the two mollies were finishing up. His ears twitched and he let go of the mat. He'd deal with it later. Hopping to his feet, he lifted his tail high and padded out from under the bowing tree. He padded along the ridge until it faded into a subtle decline. It was there that he stopped, ten or so tail-lengths away from the tree. He looked out into the forest beyond, his eyes bright as he surveyed every rise and fall of the snow, his mind's eye trying to remember what was under every bump and every ridge. There was so much to explore! A simple layer of snow made the forest look like a complete different landscape. He took a step forward, then paused. Oh wait. That was right. The orange and white tom looked back the direction he came, his green gaze seeking out Wisteria and Gardenia. He had been showing these mollies around on his way through here. His ears perked as he recalled the place he had planned to take them next. If they didn't like this one, surely they'd like the next one. This was going to be fun. "Ready for the next locale?" he called to the the two sisters. (He conveniently forgets the catmint he brought at the beginning of the trip. XD He had set it aside by some nearby trees earlier, but feel free to forget it as well. He'll probably remember it later, haha. Maybe after he makes it to Smoke's den.)

Boz w/ Wonder (Light ) Location // The BarnBoz's head tilts, eyes a tinge confused for a moment before perking up. Oh! No.. that's... no. Flicking his ear reassuringly, his head inclining to look towards Wonder a tinge more. "Trees don't feel pain- but.. well, like us, if they get scratched, they have to heal." He explains, nose scrunching. As far as he knows trees, and any plant like thing in general, can't feel pain. The tom's ears flip down in a moment of contemplation. He hopes they don't feel pain, with how often he's sank his claws into their bark to climb up them. Shaking his head, and getting his thoughts back on track, licking at his gums, somewhat dry from the cold. A sudden thought comes to mind as he does, a puff of visible breath in the air as he breathes out of his snout. "It's like when you put your paw into water. It doesn't hurt it, when you touch it, even with a claw, it just takes a moment for it to flood back into place." Boz says, curious as to where his own analogy came from. And he also wonders if such an analogy even makes much sense.
(And Boz, practically falling inside right along with her-)

WonderLocation: Barn With: Boz ( soot ) Wonder’s panicked green gaze locked back onto Boz’s face, and she relaxed some at his words. “That’s a relief,” she breathed in a whoosh of air, pulling her tail close. “I couldn’t imagine trying to walk through a horde of trees without offending a single one. I was starting to think that forest cats must be terribly talented to avoid damaging a single leaf.” Of course forest cats were still quite talented, but living under the constant wrath of the looming plantlife around them would be insane. One wrong step and it all would be over. She nodded at his explanation, relaxing further as her rational mind took this analogy into account. Her fur smoothed along her back and her tail twitched against her side in an almost self-soothing gesture. “And just to verify...” she began hesitantly, looking to one side. Her ears warmed and tilted a bit. The question might sound silly, but she had to be sure. “Trees don’t like... attack you, right?”(Hehe) (Wonder: Cat vs tree? Obviously the tree wins.)

Wila »
Wila wanted to wait and listen to what Flame had to say before digging into the mouse again, but the tantalizing scents of the warm fresh-kill were too much for the molly to resist. She tore into the mouse once more, allowing the warm flavors to wash over her tongue. A purr rumbled deep in her throat. She had caught the mouse. She was the reason why they were getting to eat this wonderful meal right now. The failure of the earlier hunt was but a mere memory now, no longer a tightness of disappointment in her chest.
Swallowing her recent mouthful, Wila’s gaze slowly turned to Flame. Appreciation for the tom prickled at every hair on her pelt. Had it not been for the orange tabby then Wila wouldn’t even be here right now, instead she’d be stuck in her human’s den. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but Chia would be there, and, well, Wila wasn’t all that fond of Chia right now. He was a good tom, a fine denmate to have, but when he constantly pushed her to have kits just so they could follow out some stupid traditions she couldn’t help but feel annoyed and angry at him. Flame wasn’t like that. And while Wila didn’t know everything there was to know about Flame, she could already tell that he would never try to pressure her into doing something that she didn’t want to do.
While she didn’t want to think about Chai at the moment, she did want to bring up other parts of her home life with Flame. ”Ya know, my humans feed me stuff that’s kinda similar to fresh-kill. I mean, it’s not fresh-kill, but I’ve seen what other house cats are fed,” she stopped to wrinkle her nose up in disdain, ”and I don’t get fed rabbit pellets. What do your humans feed you?” Concern flashed in her gaze and her voice dropped to a whisper as she asked, ”Do they feed you rabbit pellets?”
Creamsicle »
What reason could there be that would make Cotton love the moorland as much as she did? Enjoying the taste of rabbit made a lot of sense to Creamsicle, but the kit was starting to wonder if that was too shallow of a reason; after all, rabbits could be found beyond the moorland’s borders and in the woodland as well. Many a time had Splash returned home with a juicy rabbit in her jaws for Creamsicle and her littermates to eat. They had always made quick work of the rabbit, and when any of Splash’s kits asked how she had caught such a large piece of prey, the calico queen would simply look at her kittens fondly and tell them that she had had a knowledgeable teacher.
Creamsicle sighed, her breath swirling around her muzzle. More than likely she was never going to see her mother again and all the knowledge that her mother had learned would never get passed down. She wondered where her mother had even learned all of her skills from, but the young kit supposed that didn’t matter now. And even if Splash couldn’t teach her how to hunt rabbits and how to Cotton would teach her the skills that Splash would never get to, and looking at the older molly now, Creamsicle knew she was in good paws. Cotton may not be Splash, but the ticked tabby had already proved that she was more than willing to take on the kit and teach her all she could.
Having expected some sort of lesson on rabbits or just hearing Cotton speak about rabbits in general, Creamsicle was thrown off when Cotton began to speak about flying and running. The flame point kit’s ears perked forward and she turned her head to look around, blue eyes wide as they gazed upon the open moon. Cotton did look as if she were flying as she took off, graceful even as snow flew from out underneath her paws. For a moment Creamsicle stood there just watching, a shiver running through her. Would Cotton keep running and leave Creamsicle behind? The urge to run guided Creamsicle’s paws. Should she follow? Surely she wouldn’t be able to catch up with Cotton, the old molly was incredibly fast even through the snow. Creamsicle’s claws flexed, every hair on her pelt prickling. With a deep breath she prepared herself to take off, muscles bunching. Without warning she pushed off with her back legs, eager to try and catch up to Cotton; the ticked tabby came to a quick halt, calling out to Creamsicle. ”I’m coming!” She called, stretching her body and rushing forward, surprising herself at just how fast she seemed to be running, Cotton’s form growing closer and closer with each pawstep.

CottonLocation: Moor (Near Cotton’s Den) With: Creamsicle ( Feathertalon ) Cotton smiled a bit and her ears lifted fondly when she saw the kit dashing toward her, announcing her approach. Almost blending into the snow around her, Creamsicle bounded forward like a young rabbit in the snow. When the white and cream kit made it past Cotton's stark brown form, the older molly pushed off at a graceful trot-like run, matching the kit's speed. They ran straight for a while, then Cotton picked up a little speed, guiding them around the curve of the wide depression. She kept several tail-lengths from the edge of the depression and made sure to stay between Creamsicle and the edge. In some places, a few straggly looking shrubs lined the edge, their naked brown branches reaching toward the grey-blue sky. Falling down the depression slope might cause a tumble to the unsuspecting, but nothing life-threatening. Cotton kept most of her focus on Creamsicle as she ran, her head tilted to keep the kit at least in her peripheral. She knew the rises and falls of the land around here like the back of her paw, so she had little need to look very closely at where she was going. Seeing the kit run helped affirm the kit's potential for life out here. If Creamsicle applied herself, Cotton was sure she would do just fine. "Can't run quite the same when there are too many trees," Cotton called to Creamsicle with a sparkle in her eye. The more obstacles stood in the way, the more speed was sacrificed. That was why cats in the forest often chose to stalk their prey instead of chasing it. She had learnt that the hard way back when she was a young cat still living under her mother's paw.

Boz w/ Wonder (Light ) Location // The Barn
Boz's whiskers twitched in a slight show of amusement, before his expression went more sage. "They, thankfully, don't get offended." He starts, tail swishing behind him in an idle thought of such a thing. "They don't think like we do, I just think it's.. good to repay, in sorts, what they've paid us." He says, before pausing at her words. Oh. He.. could maybe see how someone who's never been in the forest could interpret it like that. Especially someone with a wonderful mind quite like Wonder's. "No. They don't.. attack you in anyway. In fact, I've seen more cats attack trees than anything. Some loners or rogues like to mark their territory by also clawing trees." He says, thoughts trailing towards rogues and loners before he's promptly stopped when he adjusts his paw. Oh. He's.. been leaning on it a bit more than he meant to, perhaps laying down might be of some benefit. Straightening his tail some for balance, he smoothly plops onto his side, injured paw splayed neatly in front of him, head still supported by his neck. Glancing back up, ear quirking. "Do avoid brambles though." He adds, thoughts back on the matter of plants attacking them. (Ahh, Plant's Vs. Cats)

Sprite w/ Spark (runningsky123) Location // The FarmSprite pauses when she sees Spark settle onto the cold ground. Her paws can confirm said cold ground being cold. She gives him a curious look, making a quiet 'mrrow?' of confusion before the idea clicks. She looks a tinge hesitant before approaching the large dog carefully. She knew he was being serious earlier.. but the actual idea of riding on his back was still a little bit boggling. Her teeth glint in a small show of a smile at his words, and polite offering before she carefully sets a paw onto his back. And.. after adjusting the trajectory, carefully hops right onto his back, paws spread out a tinge to keep steady. She crawls forward a tad, before settling down, paws tucking in as she settles at the base of his neck. "I guess not, yeah?" She says, ears perked up pointily, and more cheerily. She's a bit tired, physically, but this is.. nice. Doing things- with other's. "Do.. cat's do this alot?" She asks, still a bit careful with keeping her balance where she's tucked in against his fur.
