WonderLocation: Farm Fenceline With: Boz ( soot ) "You as well," Wonder compliments in return between deep breaths, smiling softly in his direction. She followed Boz as he started moving along the fenceline, slowly at first, but picking up the pace as she recovered from her breathlessness. She blinked in surprise when he suddenly pulled in front of her and came to a halt, her tail swishing slowly behind her. She hesitated, her ears tilting back. Close her eyes..? What was he going to do? She cast him an uneasy look, but she trusted Boz enough to go ahead and close her eyes. Her eyes slipped closed, blocking out the bright morning light. Her ears perked once more, trying to make up for lost sight by picking up minuscule sounds. Was he going to pull another trick on her? No... Surely he wouldn't. Perhaps he was going to show her something. The flowers..? There was a flowery scent that hung in the cool air. She heard him come close, but still twitched a little as his voice suddenly came close by. She shifted left as he directed, and she turned her head away from him to face ahead. Her eyes nearly flickered open until he corrected himself. It wasn't enough to really see anything. When he gave the okay, she opened her eyes. Light and colour filled her squinted gaze, she blinked and opened them wider to take in more. The sunlight filtered down upon the delicate petals of varied colours, which were all the brighter against the snow. They really were beautiful~ it was more than she had expected. "They really do grow in the snow." Her mew was laced with awe. She took a step forward to examine them more closely. The purple ones particularly caught her eye, she stretched out her neck to sniff it. (Aw. <3)

Wila »
Yes, Wila had been the one to catch the mouse, but Flame had still done a lot of the work that went into hunting down prey. Had the Burmese been by herself she would have missed the mouse without a doubt as there was no way she could have perfectly stalked the rodent and then caught it. Had Flame not been there then the mouse would have lived to see another day. Either way, she had caught it with Flame’s help. They worked pretty well as a team and Wila wanted Flame to realize that.
With the snow not as thick here, Wila took a few pawsteps away from where she had caught the mouse and crouched down, pawing the prey closer to her. ”Let’s eat while it’s still warm,” she mewed to Flame. No sense in letting the prey go to waste. Wila wanted to celebrate her victory while it was still fresh rather than letting it go stiff and frozen. She wasn’t a forest cat, but even Wila knew the importance of eating prey before it got cold.
Solomon »
This was a first for Solomon. He had never helped another cat look for a home, let alone help a kittypet look for another den to live in. Solomon had experience in looking for new homes, but that had been for himself, not for some other cat. He knew not of what Apple preferred, what Apple looked for in a twoleg, what he liked about certain nests and disliked about others, but why should he care what Apple liked and didn’t like? Apple was a kittypet that needed a home. He wouldn’t survive out in the wild during leaf-bare. He’d have to take whatever he got, but Solomon did feel somewhat guilty for these thoughts.
His guilt only grew as he noticed the silence that enveloped the two as they walked. Apple had been rather talkative earlier, but now the ginger tom had silenced himself. Solomon wanted to pass this off as Apple thinking deeply about what sort of twoleg nest he’d want to call his new home, but one glance at the other tom told Solomon everything he needed to know - Apple was upset. Apple had every right to be upset that his home was no longer a viable option for him to return to, but this heaviness was deeper than just that. A storm was brewing inside the kittypet and it was more than just sorrow. It was longing. An emotion that Solomon knew all too well.
The ticked tabby loner set his jaw, tightening it shut. He told himself he wasn’t going to say anything, he wasn’t going to try and make Apple feel better when he was already spending his free time trying to find a twoleg nest for this tom, but eventually his resolve broke and his jaws came loose.
A loud sigh escaped the loner. It was clear that he didn’t want to be asking this question, yet here he was, asking it anyway. ”What’s wrong?” Why should he care about this kittypet’s feelings? The kittypet should have realized that he wouldn’t have made it out in the wild and that it would have been better if he had sought out twolegs instead. There was bound to be a multitude of twolegs that would take in a stray, especially one that looked as good as Apple did; it was clear that he had been well taken care of, so the twolegs didn’t have to worry about any outside sickness or disease being spread from the ginger tomcat. Before going quiet to wait for a response, Solomon asked yet another question, ”What sort of nest are you looking for?” There were a lot of twoleg dens around, and Solomon wasn’t opposed to stopping at the next one they walked by, but he didn’t want to hang around too long. If Apple knew what he was looking for then they’d find a nest like that, Apple would be taken inside, and Solomon could return to his den before the snowfall got any worse.

Creamsicle »
That sounded like a challenge to Creamsicle. She narrowed her eyes and squared her shoulders as she looked at Cotton, her cream colored tail shooting straight and tall into the air. ”I’ll get all the hawks one day and every cat will be safe from them,” she vowed firmly. Once she learned how to hunt the birds of prey down no other cat would ever have to worry about them swooping down and attacking. Creamsicle would be the hero of the moors! Now that had a nice ring to it.
She was just about to mention that name to Cotton when the kit noticed the older molly crouching down. Almost immediately Creamsicle copied Cotton’s posture, crouching down just close enough to the ground that her belly fur rustled against the snow. It was cold on her stomach, but if Cotton could do it then so could Creamsicle. The kit’s crouch was rather good, almost spot on, but as she started to slide across the snow, her paws dug in too deep as she pushed all her weight down - not that she had a lot of weight to give. The snow under paw crackled unlike the silence that Cotton displayed as she slid across the blanket of snow.
A shadow passed above Creamsicle, the kit momentarily bristling until she realized it was just Cotton, the older molly now closer. While her fur smoothed back down along her body, she hunkered down close to the ground again under Cotton’s stern gaze. Cotton had never looked this sharply at Creamsicle before. Had she done something wrong? It was probably the fact that she had been talking about hunting hawks, and as Cotton continued to talk about hunting hawks and how it was actually quite dangerous to do so, Creamsicle really understood where she had messed up. She had been too eager in deciding to hunt hawks.
Learning how to hunt was important, Creamsicle knew that, but she wasn’t sure if she liked the idea of going after rabbits or mice or anything of that nature. Something about going after hawks sounded okay to her. Maybe she liked the idea of keeping something dangerous away whereas rabbits and mice weren’t dangerous to cats. Maybe she’d just settle with cleaning dens instead of trying to hunt. Cleaning dens was important too.
The kit shook these thoughts away from her mind as she continued to listen to Cotton speak. Once the old rogue was finished, Creamsicle shuffled her paws across the snow, looking at the ticked tabby as her head tilted to the side, absorbing in everything she was being told. ”You’ll still teach me how to hunt hawks, though, right?” She asked hopefully. Maybe she wouldn’t get to learn now, but surely Cotton would teach her soon, and before long she could be hunting down hawks in a way that Cotton approved of.
[ i do think Splash named her litter that way so they’d fit in with kittypets more even though her litter was only sorta-kinda kittypet kits. She was going to raise them to be able to fend for themselves, but also to not be opposed to staying with twolegs if they needed/wanted to. I also think she did enjoy collecting feathers and even colorful fish scales on the occasion they were down by the stream. ]

Sunny with Fran whispering The young tom glanced around their surroundings one last time before following after the older she-cat, though it seemed that the twolegs had all gone away for the time being. Sunny was still skeptical of his new environment. It had been the twolegs who had captured his family after all. The ginger tom thought of his brother, Ember. Poor Ember. Where had his brother ended up after the drastic separation? There was no telling. Maybe the twolegs had gone back to get him, and he was safe in the cageplace or picked up and taken to a twoleg home like Sunny. I hope he's alright wherever he is. Sunny paused as Fran paused, uneasily taking in the new sight of the kitchen she had called it. Twoleg dens had a lot of strange names, that was for sure. He padded forward and sniffed at the food, his nose scrunching slightly at the strong scent. It was not the pellets from the cageplace but it was not fresh-kill. I miss fresh-kill. He thought sadly before leaning down to take a tentative bite of the mush. "It's... not as bad as I thought." He mewed quietly, briefly turning to look at the white molly before turning to take another bite.
Crystal with Kuta Myst Something useful. Hopefully. An outcome of death would certainly not be something useful, would it? Trust the spirits. Kuta trusts them; maybe I should too. Crystal thought, glancing over at the tabby with wonderous green eyes. But then again, Kuta was a kittypet. Kittypets would trust the words from a hairball. A purr rumbled deep in her throat at the thought. No, her new friend was trustworthy. The gray she-cat could feel it in her gut. They would not meet death when they reached the caves, not yet.
Is it better living outside? Green eyes widened in surprise as she looked over at Kuta, her ears flicking as she thought of her answer. Was it better outdoors? "Well, I've never lived with twolegs, so I can't really compare the two..."
"But I'd assume so, yes. Forest cats are taught to avoid twolegs it's unnatural to live with them- at least, that's what my mother taught me. I can't imagine being limited to a twoleg den my whole life, being told when to go outside and when to come back home. Out here, I can do what I want, whenever I want. Go where I want to go. Catch all the prey my heart desires." Crystal trailed off, glancing up at the sky. The clouds hid the sun, faint rays peaking out of the thick canopy of white. What would life be like closed inside of a twoleg den her whole life? Not knowing the wild feeling that came from being born within the trees or out on the moor. Kittypets were missing out on a cat's natural instinct. For twolegs. Surely it wasn't better living with them. "I think you'd like it. You make a fine moorcat." Kuta was a kittypet, but Crystal could see his potential. She saw it in the way he hunted, in the twitch of his large ears and the focus in his amber eyes. Kuta was a kittypet whose instincts were begging to be outdoors. ----- (Hey everyone <3)

Boz w/ Wonder (Light ) Location // The FarmBoz watches merrily as Wonder goes forward, nosing at a few of the flowers, they emit a nice floral scent, obviously. He lets her explore the flowers for a moment, and simply enjoys them. The air is fresh, crisp, and it's still an earlier morning. The sky, while it was a covered in clouds recently, is shedding more light, and the wind that blows by just feels nice on his fur. Finally getting to his paws, Boz trots forward just a tad, nosing at the colorfully blotched flowers, ears brows furrowed as he tries to tell a difference in scent.. Glancing towards Wonder, he remembers something Spackle told him about the flowers. "...Apparently these flowers smell stronger in the morning, or at dawn." He says quietly, batting at one of the flower's stems. He shrugs a bit with his tail. "I don't know if that's got any truth in it, but that's what Spackle and Lada say.. but- it might just be a long running joke for the one thing I pulled on them." He adds, grimacing a bit, shaking his head, ears perking up again. "So, do'ya-" He clears his throat, "Do you like them? There's plenty more flowers out there, even on the farm that I could show you if you like? At another time- of course." He suggests offhandedly, eyes sparkling brightly at how soft the petals feel against his nosepad. Chattering quietly at the blowing breeze, a bit stronger this time, he looks towards Wonder, hoping she isn't too cold.
(Dunno if you watch any star wars, or Star Wars Rebels to be specific xD but the orange and purple reminds me of Sabine.)

Smoke purred at Percy's praise, feeling his ears grow hot despite the freezing wind. Or maybe they burned because he was cold.
Maybe it was only their second day together; he enjoyed the ginger tom's presence, and it was nice to get a little praise for doing something other than healing. The only other cat he would hunt for was his mother, and in her final moons, she appreciated him much more for all he would do for her, all the things he had sacrificed for her and his career in healing: having real friends, exploring the world, and taking on a mate, she appreciated his dedication towards their lifestyle. And she was honored to pass down her position to her son. Smoke spent the following year after her death dutifully fulfilling that role and forgot about himself. But then he met Percy. Though it hadn't been long since they met, the tom was already opening his mind to new outlooks on life, new possibilities, and opportunities. It excited Smoke to think of where their new future would take them, of being companions and bringing back the clans. Soon.
Smoke's jaws tightened around his squirrel, glancing at the snow-filled forest. They couldn't eat out in these conditions. Perhaps a nearby bush or- He broke from his thoughts as his eyes landed on a shady area underneath a low-hanging branch of an oak. The leaves had fallen, leaving the twisted branch bare, but it protected the ground beneath from the snow, leaving a small patch of dirt untouched by snow. He nodded for Percy to follow him before treading towards the spot, dropping the squirrel and shaking his pelt. It would have been nice to go back to the den, but they had a long day ahead of them. And there were decisions to be made. And they could always sit close if it was too cold.
"It isn't much, but it'll do for now." Smoke said with a sigh, sitting down on the bare patch of dirt, The coolness of it seeping into his fur. Cold yet satisfying. "You take first bite." He smiled, gently sliding the squirrel closer to Percy.
Amber eyes were wide as moons as the distant image of a red twoleg den, multiple dens, came into view. And large animals Ember had never seen before: they reminded him of the deer that he sometimes would come across. Except they had no antlers, and they were large- and wide. Nor were they the same color: some were brown, and some were variants of black and white. What was this place? This farm. Crimson had warned him that there were twolegs and animals who lived there, but he assumed the animals would only consist of dogs and cats.
Dogs. Ember's eyes narrowed at the mention of the brutes. The cream and white cat was not fond of them at all. "What do you mean? How am I gonna know when the cats will come for me?" He demanded, turning to face the two cats again. He was freezing! His paws were burning from being so numb with cold. And they wanted him to wait some more? Or else dogs would get him. They've led me into a trap! "You have to at least wait with me."

Quinn The fenceline // with Spackle soot
Hmm. The tabby thought, studying the uneasiness that briefly clouded Spackle's face, taking in his damper tone. Quinn knew this act all too well; she'd been in his position numerous times before, more than she would like to count, the feeling of having to mask one's true emotions. Her blue eyes met his a moment longer before she offered him a smile, dropping her object(a shoe) at his paws. "Just stirring trouble in the neighborhood." She purred, hoping to lift his spirits. But it wasn't that simple, that she knew. Quinn was not the cat to confide in. Talking out one's issues was a flaw of her own, let alone listening to others and giving actual advice. Surely, Spackle would let her know if something was truly bothering him. Quinn was one to pry, but only in things she was interested in, like Wila's handsome housemate Chai and their relationship issues or the kits that had come to find Spackle a few days before after he'd spent the night. Personal subjects, though, she strayed far from, as far away as possible. Which was why Wila only told her occasionally about Chai. Quinn usually made jokes on the situation anyway- it was only fair her dark-furred friend would keep it to herself.
The tabby molly flicked her tail and shuffled her paws in the thin snow, thinking of what to say next. "How're your kits? They're not hiding anywhere around here are they?" Surely, Spackle's kits would cheer him up some.
Fran Fran's House // with Sunny 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑢
The molly watched intently as the little ginger cat took a hesitant bite, waiting for his reaction before a gentle purr began in her throat. "Oh, wonderful. I was worried you wouldn't like it." She purred before sitting across from Sunny, plumed tail wrapping around her paws. Blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she watched him return for more.
"Nothing like the pellets you may be used to, eh?" Fran was no fan of the pellets, though she did not mind them. Sometimes, her housefolk would give her a mixture of both foods, but only on rare occasions. The white she-cat wasn't sure what those occasions were, but she was grateful they didn't occur frequently.
She wondered more about Sunny, but she didn't want to make the little tom more uncomfortable than he already was. Besides, she didn't know if his story was traumatic or not. She assumed so with how timid and skittish he seemed. "Was your time in the cageplace alright?" She asked softly, deciding it best to probe only gently. If Sunny refused to confide in Fran, she would respect his wishes.

Spackle Location // The Treeline
Spackle chuffed a quiet sound of amusement, Quinn? Causing trouble? He didn't think of her to be that kind of cat, but it suits her, especially that sharp grin. He watched her shuffle in thought for a moment, his own thoughts spiraling in a chaotic mess as he tried to focus on the welcome molly, looking a bit curiously to the twoleg item she dropped. He's seen them have those on their paws, help them from stepping on pointy things, he supposes. At her words, his mind flashes to the three cats he can't bare to stay around for longer than a day. He doesn't know why, but not anything they're saying is making him feel better, or solid, like he's actually real.
He caught a whiff of Lada's scent when he ran through the woods, and all he did was run faster. Boz barely got a day with him, and Zee was off giving him much, much more worrying looks. Zee's never looked so- terrified of what Spackle might do, to himself. And Spackle is having the weight of the mountains dropped on his shoulder while trying to figure out what to do with himself. Adjusting his footing, getting it less off of the leg he managed to hurt on his run here, ignoring the sharp, stark difference between red and white. He just gives an almost sardonic grin. "I was with 'em the past few days, but I had to get a bit of a walk in." He says as he usually would, his next words escaping him. "I can't- couldn't-?" He stops himself, trying to stop himself from stumbling again. And ignoring that he almost straight blurted out that he feels like he can't live.
He feels the ever so familiar feeling of wanting to just sit down, and shatter. Sucking in a steadying (Not really) breath, he just shakes his head, giving a small smile and falls into something he can talk about, something safe. "You know, while I was there, Boz- the younger tortoiseshell tom?" He says, head tilting. "Well, he finally got himself a new friend, name's uh, the younger cat molly.. Alice's kit sister-" He pauses, squinting at Quinn while trying to remember, ears perking up when he gets it, "Ah- Wonder, that's it." He says, shoulders drooping. Wonder, hah, a good name for that young molly, he thinks idly.
Ruffling his fur, the tom smiles a bit more at the thought of Boz actually managing to make a friend. Not that he doubts Boz's abilities, more like his.. determination to even make anything resembling a friend. Quirking an ear at the thought of.. 'friends', he loos a bit intently at Quinn for a moment. Maybe he did actually make a new friend himself, if the way Zee was teasing him about the 'Awful sweet molly' has anything to do with it. Rolling his eyes internally, ears following the movement in a way, he lets out a quiet, and bone, cold numbing sigh.
You know, maybe he should show Quinn some shelter this time.
(By the way xD Spackle likes using fancy words, and wording, with his minorly noticeable posh accent, but he's also like country guy who skips half of his words when he's lazy, lol)

CottonLocation: Moor (Near Cotton’s Den) With: Creamsicle ( Feathertalon ) Cotton blinked as she noticed Creamsicle imitate her, impressed by the kit's attempt. Creamsicle had plenty of potential. With some direction and practice, Cotton was sure she would catch on quickly to the process of hunting. Cotton wasn't sure if Creamsicle understood what she was saying, but the kit at least seemed to be listening. Or at least so she thought until Creamsicle's last question. Cotton turned away with a somewhat exasperated sigh, letting light shine upon the kit once more. Her brown tail swished slowly behind her. She took in a deep breath of cold air and let it out. If one must have anything as a mother, it was patience. The moors that stretched out beyond looked cold and barren. Cotton was thankful that they had enough to feed them that morning. Most of the prey must be burrowed away under that deep snow- they might not come out until tomorrow at the latest. "Once you learn how to hunt on the moor and catch your first few rabbits, then yes. I will teach you to catch hawks." She turned her head back to look at the kit with her usual sharp yellow gaze, studying her reaction and waiting to see if she would argue. Creamsicle had said she hadn't wanted to hunt the day before after hearing the rabbit's cry~ the reaction the kit gave at the time had given her the idea that the shriek had reminded the kit of her past experiences. The poor tot. Cotton hadn't wanted to press her at the time. Then that night, the kit seemed to have no qualms about the idea of hunting hawks. There seemed to be a disconnect. Cotton didn't know if Creamsicle was simply too young and inexperienced, or if there was something else behind it. The kit had been here on the moors for less than a day, so Cotton would give her some time to adjust, but would also do all that she could to encourage the ways of the moor upon the kit. At least until the kit was old enough to make a decision for herself. Cotton knew she wasn't as strong as she once was, but she was still very much able. With this kit under her care she must continue to be strong, so she could prepare and send one more life out onto their own journey. (Aww. Splash sounds like an amazing mother. <3) --- Wonder Location: Farm Fenceline With: Boz ( soot ) More scent in the morning? Flowers often closed at night. She had taken short walks at night, and had seen flowers that once bloomed in the light, tightly closed and hidden in the dark. Could that be the reason? When they freshly open in the morning, perhaps that made the scent stronger. Then as fresh-kill grows cold, perhaps the scent faded the longer it was open. She glanced at Boz as he continued. Her ears perked, then lowered at his grimace. She was curious about what prank he must have pulled on his family, but seeing his grimace, she wasn't sure if she should press. "Perhaps their scent is made stronger by night," she suggested. "I do like them! They are beautiful," she purred. "Oh yes! I've seen many of the flowers here on the farm. I haven't seen these, since I don't often venture to the fenceline on my own. These are the first flowers I've seen still blooming in the snow-" Wonder paused. "-well I suppose that might be because I wasn't out here last winter. The farmer did have some lovely flowers in his den though." She hoped she wasn't talking too much for his liking. Other than Alice and a select few who had reached out to her, she was far too shy to say much. But once she became more comfortable with others, she sometimes couldn't help but let more of her many thoughts spill out. (Alas, I haven't watched those. I looked up a picture though and see what you mean. :3)

Boz w/ Wonder (Light ) Location // Farm FencelineBoz gives a curious thought at that, that'd make sense, if they've just opened.. his head tilts with agreement at the notion, his tail flicking happily when she starts talking more. It took a bit, and some awkward talking of his own, but now Wonder's speaking a bit more about herself. A win in Boz's book. Green eyes flit over Wonder at the mention of the owner, mrrowing curiously under his breath. "I've only seen the farmer a few times.. I didn't know they put flowers in their dens?" He says, slash asks, giving a quizzical look. Why would they- how do they..? "How do they even move them?" His tone goes from curious, to straight flabberasted. As much as he's sort of around twolegs- or humans, he doesn't really take in too much about the things they have. He would love too- but every time he's tried to, or went to look or ask questions, he gets cut off. It's as if the stars want him to look up to them rather than the twolegs- that's an odd idea, but he feels inclined to agree to it for now. Maybe he needed to wait for someone to tell him, rather than he asking? Laughing internally at his own thoughts random antics, he focuses back into reality. Rolling his shoulders, he turns back towards where they came from, sitting down just a moment to enjoy the view of the whole barn. The tom pauses, a question on his tongue.. "What.. what's it like, in a twoleg den?" Is it odd? He knows Spackle certainly didn't like his own, but he never put kittypet's or other twoleg den pets down in any way. And if what Spackle did before they found him, staying inside with a kittypet over night? Then he really must just not have been a fan of his own. Tilting his head to look towards Wonder, "I know Spackle didn't really like his, but he's never said their bad overall." He offers, green eyes furrowing. Maybe Spackle just thought it as confining? Not a surprise, really, everyone knows how Spackle is.
(Star wars, my second language, lol. And, for context, Spackle didn't go in depth on what his twoleg place was like with Boz, for obvious reasons, but it wasn't a good place.)

Honey -- The Treeline | With Shadow - runningsky123 What would it have been like to have siblings? Would it have changed the way she’d developed? Surely it would have – her mother had been able to spoil her in the summers and keep them afloat in the winters. Maybe her personality would be different, she’d be less shameless and think before she spoke. Though, she supposed there was always the chance that nothing would’ve changed. Hm.
The trees were starting to thin and she could make out the fences beyond them. Well, it seemed their little trip was coming to an end. Stopping beside him, Honey offered a toothy grin in response to his thanks. “No problem~” she purred. “You’re welcome any time – any weasel hunter is a friend of mine.” She certainly wouldn’t mind if he visited again. He made for interesting conversation, what with the odd life he lead. Staying with twolegs despite being totally self-sufficient… how interesting. It wouldn’t hurt to learn more. “Until we meet again, yeah?” Nudging his shoulder with her own and a wave of her tail, the molly turned, trotting back off into the forest. As friendly as he was, she had no intention of being spotted by the humans.
(just wanted to wrap them up properly~)
Binx -- The Barn, Before the Storm | With Alice - Feathertalon It wasn’t as if she was in need of a place to stay, not really. Though, the pines were admittedly lonely and didn’t offer the best food supply. There were plenty of times she’d gone hungry, hence her little venture to the mountains. The forest was far better, though she figured in terms of competition, she would be out matched. While the area was large, too large for any one cat in her opinion, there seemed to be more borders than she could keep track of. There’d only been a couple incidents of it being an issue, both of which resulted in her being chased off the claimed land. Thankfully it hadn’t escalated beyond that. She’d take being lonely over getting into a fight because she’d missed a scent marker any day.
“Have you always lived here?” Binx questioned. It sounded as if the other new something about the pines. Of course, it could very well just be from passing through – it didn’t take much to figure out it was hardly populated. Still, she couldn’t help but be a little curious. After all, she’d told Alice about her living situation and a very, very broad interpretation of how she’d ended up there. Though, it wasn’t about getting information so much as it was to satisfy her own curiosity. Surely she’d been here at least most of her life. After all, she seemed pretty comfortably and knowledgeable of how everything on the farm worked.
Despite having asked a question, it didn’t take much for her attention to be diverted. A new question sat between them, and the black molly followed her gaze toward one of the hay bales. She did want to know how to get up to the beams above them. Plus, it’d be interesting to see all this space from a higher position. With a little nod, she answered “If you don’t mind showing me, I’d like that.” The tortoiseshell feline was hardly her keeper – if she had better things to do, then she wouldn’t hold her back.

Vixen -- The Marsh | With Lotus - whispering Whatever direction their conversation had been taking was dashed with the appearance of the predator Lotus had stolen from. No sooner had they voiced its presence than they were meeting it’s eyes and bared teeth. Ears flattening, a growl made its home in the feline’s chest as they ventured half a step back. While the thing was skinny and didn’t have much on them in size, it’s jaws were still menacing – it simply made more sense to get a move on. After all, they had no stake in this fight other than a peaceful moment lost. The molly beside them, however… ’She wouldn’t be fool enough to stay, would she?’ A quick sidelong glance told them otherwise.
How stupid, fighting over some frozen hare. It wasn’t even their meal, what obligation did they have to stay? She was little more than a moment’s acquaintance; they certainly didn’t owe her anything. They’d sleep just fine a night if they opted to walk away. Of course, that’s what they’d tell themselves – Vixen was many things, not all of them particularly pleasant, and none of them totally immune to guilt. Whether they liked it or not, the guilt of simply walking away from the situation would get to them eventually. They thought her a fool for staying, though now came to the conclusion that they themselves were no better.
Fur bristled as a hiss of their own passed through bared teeth as the ruddy feline mad an attempt to plan for what should be done. The tortoiseshell was already moving though, lunging and slashing at the canine and ducking away. If it wasn’t angry before, then it surely was now, but perhaps it was a good thing. Angry predators had poor focus. Jumping a bit to the side to create a bit of distance between themselves and Lotus, Vixen followed the molly’s lead, rushing forward and lashing out at the fox’s shoulder. The animal turned, snapping its teeth at him a bit wildly, the feline only narrowly ducking out of the way. Like this, the fox would be forced to turn between them if it wanted to land it’s own blows. And land it did – blunt claws tore across his back as the canine swiped at Vixen in what was likely a failed attempt to draw them closer. Pain blossomed in it’s wake as they turned with an angry yowl, delivering a sharp bite to the withdrawing limb, finding some delight in the yelp they earned.
Kuta -- The Stream | With Crystal - 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑢 The idea that his trust in these dreams was misplaced was entirely lost on him. It simply hadn’t occurred to him that the supposed spirits he was meeting were sending him to his death. Of course, it was just as possible that they were figments if his imagination. Regardless of the source, he still wanted to see this to the end. It was certainly more fun than being cooped up inside for days on end.
Crystal’s purr beside him didn’t go unheard – he wondered what she was thinking. Whatever it was, he was just glad it seemed to bring her some joy. He wasn’t left to sit on this for long though as she answered his question about living outside despite her surprise. When she started, the tom was left nodding for a moment. “Right, that makes sense…” Kuta murmured. Of course she hadn’t lived with twolegs – not many wild cats he’d met had. He hadn’t met too many in this area just yet, but the ones from his previous home had seemed fairly wary of the humans in the area. With her situation made clear, the tom would’ve been satisfied had she left it there, but to his delight there was more. He listened to her intently, ears perked and eyes bright with curiosity as he glanced up every now and then to ensure they weren’t going to run into everything.
Everything she said made sense to him, in a way. He had never been content to simply stay inside with his twolegs – it’d just felt wrong. The idea of doing whatever he wanted when he wanted all the time was rather enticing. Not that he’d get up to much, but he enjoyed the freedom of choice. Her last comment drew a mrow of laughter from him, a toothy grin curving his mouth. “You think so?” It was a meaningful compliment coming from her – she seemed highly capable.
The stream was coming into view now, most of it still frozen over with the water running under the ice, peaking through the occasional spot every now and then. Right – they just had to follow it up to the mountains. “I feel like the idea of not going home should be… upsetting?” Kuta started, amber eyes glancing to his companion as if looking for confirmation that it made sense. “I mean, most cats would be upset if they couldn’t go home, right? But I don’t think I’d mind.” At this point he was more or less thinking out loud as they approached the frozen bank. The thought was odd to acknowledge, though. Sure, he’d considered simply never going back to his twolegs, but it was only ever just a thought.
Coming to a stop, he looked upstream, eyes glittering with excitement as he viewed the mountain range in the distance. Surely it wouldn’t take too long to get there, right? “How long d’you think it’ll take to reach the head of the stream?”

WonderLocation: Farm Fenceline With: Boz ( soot ) "They do! The farmer has these movable nests that the plants grow out of. I once accidentally broke one-" Wonder grimaced, her ears tilting back. "The nest broke into tiny pieces and scattered across the ground of the den. Inside of it was earth- a little piece of where all plants come from," Wonder finished describing, her ears perked again in excitement to share something that she knew. Not many cats asked about her about her time in the farmer's den, but it was something she felt most comfortable talking about- since much of her kit hood was spent there. She watched him turn away, and followed his gaze to the barn. She padded lightly to his side and sat, her fluffy dark tail wrapping around her paws. The calico tilted her head as she pondered on how to answer his question. "Spackle was used to live in a twoleg den? I never knew that," Wonder murmured, trying but failing to picture the ever-wandering tom sitting in a den with twolegs. "Well... You know the barn. It's like that, but with smaller sections that are connected by entrances that swing open and closed. The ground can be springy like grass, or slippery like ice, but not cold~ well not always. Meals are regularly provided, sometimes pellets, sometimes the remains of the farmer's prey," Wonder licked her lips at the memory. "The temperature is like constant leaf-fall weather, day or night. Mountains lead from one level of the den to another level with a similar layout- kind of like the loft, but BIGGER. There's lots of cushy resting spots too, though sometimes the farmer didn't appreciate me sitting on them." She laughed a small guilty chitter. "Though sometimes it was lonely... Not being around other cats. Sure there was the farmer and the dog were there but... It's just not the same you know? Out here, you can feel the breeze, smell all sorts of exciting new things in the air, and..." She paused and glanced at Boz, her eyes glittering. "Have adventures." If Spackle was anything like Boz, perhaps the lack of adventure was what was why he didn't like being in a twoleg den. She might not have included adventures in her explanation before that day, but Boz had inspired something new within her. (I've watched the first few movies of Star Wars many many years ago, but I'm lost with all the new stuff. XP) (Awww. Spacks! ;w;)

Boz Location // Farm Fenceline
Boz listened with full, and content attention, his curiosity piqued. Listening to all of the interesting, and very.. odd things in twoleg den's though he can't deny that he wants to explore one eventually. One day. His head tilted a the mention of temperature, how in the Stars would they make it stay the same? Maybe the outside temperature doesn't effect in a fully enclosed place like a twoleg den? Chattering in quiet amusement, suddenly curious as to what the cushy spots felt like, comfortable he'd assume. His ears twitched, eyes focused and looking at the molly, the feeling of understanding flooding him. he gives a small nod, ears swiveling.
"I'm sure some cat's appreciate twoleg den's, not every cat likes to be out in the heat, or cold, the bright sun, or harsh wind." He adds, giving a contemplative sound as his paws shift, so he's face towards Wonder a tad more. "But- like you said, it's not the same. Some of us- well, at least, I think I'd probably feel trapped, in such a small place like that- compared to.. this?" Boz says, eyes widening to take the large expanse in front of them, taking mild note of the darkening clouds. They should probably go back soon but.. It's nice, pleasant. "I think anycat could be happy anywhere, if you really tried, bit I still enjoy this so- so much more. The open, and plains, forests, deserts- that nearly go on forever? I well, so long as I have new things, and places to explore and see? I think I'd be happy, but I'd still like to have friends- maybe a traveling companion." He says, not really thinking too much of what he may of accidentally implied without meaning too. He takes in a quiet breath, shoulders moving with it as he turns back to Wonder, giving her a genuine, open look.
"I like being apart of it all, seeing what was and what might be. Being outside.. it can be calm, serene and peaceful, or it can be scary, chaotic. That's why I like to so much. It's like us." He mumbles, ears tilting, and eyes glittering. Maybe.. traveling with Wonder would be nice? Traveling, discovering, and learning. Even if the weather is unforgiving and harsh. Is exploring, and learning really all that amazing without someone to share it with?
(Spacks used to be in a cat breeding mill ;-; poor boi, he went outtie, and star wars is.. very hard to keep up with, ;w; even for a big fan like me xD) (And Boz is all like, friend acquired! now we're literally life friends, pft-)

WonderLocation: Farm Fenceline With: Boz ( soot ) Wonder nodded, her ears twitching as she thought upon his words. "Hm... Back then, I wouldn't have even thought of feeling trapped. At the time, I was too afraid to consider what might be beyond. The farmer's den was everything to me. I was always indoors. It was all I really remembered. I was terrified when he first brought me outside." Her ears flattened at the memory. "At first I thought that he had abandoned me. He wouldn't let me inside anymore... But the dogs assured me that the barn was my new home, and Alice told me that it was where I had originally come from~ that I was brought to the house when I was born, because there was no cat to nurse me." She glanced down and shuffled her paws, then looked up again at the barn. She flattened her fur, then fluffed it again, her sides feeling a bit chilled in the breeze. "It took a while before I started to really appreciate what it's like out here. It took cats like you and Alice to show me that the outside world is more than just insecurity and danger. And it wasn't until then that I realized that I had been a bit lonely cooped up in the house. I'm glad I'm out here now. With all that I now know, I probably wouldn't feel the same about it as I once did, if I ever had to go back." She had to admit that she missed it sometimes, but overall, she was glad she lived at the barn now. Thanks to that, she met Alice, Boz, and some of the other barncats. She glanced at the young tom, a pleased expression on her face. Her expression turned more serious and wistful on his last explanation. Her eyes rounded and she turned to face him more, much like he had done earlier. After he finished, she lifted her green gaze to the grey sky and thought for some time. "The uncertainty of the outdoors still scares me" She said at last. Of course she could get around fine on the farm, knowing that the dogs protected that land~ but when travelling on her own, she would still jump at every little sound that happened upon her path. "All I used to see was the chaos." She laughed a little, then glanced at Boz. "So thank you for taking the time to show and tell me the beauty the outdoors has to offer." She had seen pretty flowers, stars, sunrises and the like before, but something about seeing them with another individual made it more... special. And all his stories of the beauty that could be found in the outside world... perhaps it really was more than a death trap out there. When she was with Boz, she didn't find herself afraid of every little thing anymore. Perhaps that made her better able to enjoy the sights. (Aw Spacks. I skimmed a bit of that description from his discussion with Quinn.) (Yeah- for me it was just the first few (VHS) movies. XD I'm not good at keeping up with the times.) (Yass! Wonder as well. :3 I look forward to see where their journeys take them.)

Boz w/ Wonder (Light) Location // Farm FencelineBoz's ears flicked bashfully, simultaneously happy that Wonder's figured something important out, and also surprised that he had anything to do with it. He can understand why it might be hard to see the calm and serene when the chaos seems so much. "You don't need to thank me.. So long as you see more of what everything has to offer." He says simply, ears still downturned. "I know it's- I say this like I have much more experience than I really do. But it's good to be able to see both sides, the chaos and the- peaceful. You should always know there's scary things, but that there's also good things, like the glowing mushrooms and fireflies." Boz continues, eyeing the crystals of snow that are falling lightly. The tom chattered a quiet laugh, giving an oddly grateful look towards Wonder. "A tad of bad timing- but we should probably start going back to the barn, the snow's starting to fall." He says, head tilted, and speaking as if its more of a suggestion than anything. "Zee's probably lounging around waiting for us already." He said, getting to his paws, and letting Wonder take the lead if she wants to, paws already carrying him forward, ears flickering at the drops of snow falling softly from the sky. He paused for a second. "If you.. ever wanna see more of one of the other, the- well, chaos or the peace, just let me know, I think I know a few places that might be interesting to see with 'em." He says with a stark grin, head tilting as he started walking forward again, hopping over a small pothole in the ground. "Chaos always seems like its the natural state of everything- and the peace comes occasionally, but I know a few random little spots that are the opposite." Boz says with a small, exasperated laugh, he's really waxing poetics today, isn't he?
(Yusss, and Boz is sort of a poet speaker xD If you didn't notice, ask him about anything and he'll make it sound like you're reading Shakespeare or sumthin-)
