(Aw. That’s awesome that he’s warmed up to you, Running! ^^ He sounds really cute.)
(Welcome Soot! ^^ Soot and Junospower - We’ve mostly been having random cats meet each other and have recently had a snowstorm pass through. After the snowstorm, snow is covering the ground and prey is scarce. Some people are still trying to catch up to the point after the snowstorm. Others are continuing after the snowstorm. That’s pretty much all that’s happened so far. :3)

Night with Gardenia and Wisteria runningsky123 Night flicked his tail dismissively to the cream molly. "Don't be embarrassed, it happens to the best of us." He shrugged before turning to shovel more snow. His path was narrow but big enough for a cat to pass through if needed. Hunting? What'd happened to their food? "You can try, but I doubt you'll find much. The only thing you may find is some frozen unlucky critter. Might not be very appetizing though." He mewed absently, not turning back to look at Gardenia. "You'd have better luck checking twoleg place." The tom added with a snort. He couldn't quite understand why they were so adamant to prove themselves as forest cats. Twolegs were always open to helping out their pets. Maybe it isn't for me to understand. Gardenia and Wisteria had something to prove. Maybe not to him but to themselves. ----- (Morning everyone!)

Gardenia and Wisteria Location: Forest With: Night ( 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑢) Gardenia was about to respond to his mention of frozen prey when he mentioned Twolegplace. Her fur bristled at that, her teeth bared at him slightly. “What is your problem?”, she snapped. “Just because we used to be housecats doesn’t mean we want to go back. You think we want to be out in a snowstorm, stuck with some self-righteous tom who keeps making snide remarks?”, she spat. Sure, he’d helped them, but he was really getting on her nerves. “Not to mention, what business is it of yours?” Her tail was lashing back and forth, very obviously upset and defensive. She wanted nothing more than to go back to their old den, curl up with their housefolk, and sleep in front of the fire. But they couldn’t, and they’d never be able to again. She’d accepted their fate.

I love snakes so much. I want one once I get my own place, but I’m gonna have to figure out how without my cats being a nuisance, since I’m gonna be taking them if I move out or if my parents move away. But I really want a rosy boa at some point, they’re so cute. My brother has a ball python names Scarlett who is an absolute sweetheart

Okay well screw them for not managing their dogs?? I’m surprised that they even still have them considering that sounds like it happens really often. Are you the only person/family getting affected by these dogs??? He is, just just a growing little lad! I should’ve known I would have to do this eventually, but I was really just hoping I wouldn’t have to. I just see if my parents on a drill so I don’t have to get my own because I don’t have drill money lmao Feathertalon what’s keeping you from your snake dreams?? runningsky123 as long as you get a good terrarium you’ll actually be perfectly fine. I do have a cat but he isn’t very active so I never had to worry about him getting on top of the enclosure but if you invest in a decent PVC terrarium it really shouldn’t be a problem. As long as there is some thing keeping the doors or the hatch on top from opening or being opened by the cats or the snake quite frankly, you’ll be perfectly fine. What I did was I got the terrarium way in advance so my cat was already acclimated to having it in there, and since I have a ball python and he’s generally nocturnal, he just kind of ignores the enclosure as a whole since it was already there and it looks empty most of the time

thanks yall for the well wishes! and yes its only us as far as i know, our yards are not fenced. my dog is usually kept on her tie-off on days when it's too hot for us to walk and i supervise her(because it's unpredictable when the other dogs come outside) she knows her recall but its best to tie her up just to be safe, we don't use e-collars or anything and the area behind our neighborhood is all wooded. however, this instant is the first time it has actually gotten to a full-blown fight. you would think he'd take extra precautions for his dogs from the first time to avoid it ever coming to this:') but ig not everyone thinks that way. i too hate that irresponsible people like this give bullies such a bad rep. my girl is a lab/bully mutt and we did all we could to train her and socialize her properly. she's very friendly so in instances they do come into our yard she's always excited but they unfortunately are not as welcoming when it comes to her

Myst yeah, though it will have to be extra secure since apparently rosy boas are known for being escape artists, but also really docile and they’re on the more ‘like to be handled’ side. Right now it’s mostly that my mom is not the biggest fan of snakes. She tolerates Scarlett being in the house occasionally, but not one in the house all the time. I do get to keep Scarlett in my room when my brother goes on vacation though, so I get to get my snake cuddles in then lol

Wila »
Wila nodded her acknowledgment of his statement. It reminded her yet again that she needed to come out this way more and explore instead of just staying in one particular place. Now that she had Flame as a friend she was sure to venture out further than she ever had before - right now was a prime example of that. Despite being friends with Frazzle, a cat who lived in the wild, and Quinn, a cat who had been born outside of the humans’ territory, Wila had almost zero experience outside. She knew a small world just outside her twoleg den, but anything beyond that was a mystery to her.
The molly remained silent up until they had reached the last house where the fence lines ended. Wila’s ears perked, eyes wide with intrigue. Already she could see how the trees were growing taller and larger, some of their trunks thicker than Wila had ever seen outside her own home. Every hair on her pelt quivered with excitement. She had never gone out in the woods before, mostly due to not wanting to be alone. Now that she had Flame she felt unstoppable, like she could do anything and everything she ever wanted. The thought brought a smile to her face, and as she looked at the ginger tom that was ahead of her, she couldn’t stop the warmth that spread across her despite the chilly breeze.
The warmth soon turned to awe as she leapt off the fence and down onto solid ground. Fresh snow covered the ground in an almost perfectly solid blanket save for the tracks of songbirds that had come out to disturb the snowfall in search of bugs and worms. Beyond that lay a stretch of tall, unmarked trees, their branches bare and yet still reaching out hopefully toward the heavens. The further Wila looked the more trees she could see, all stretching deep into the woodlands without a single house to mar their presence. A quiver ran down her spine as she looked at the mighty forest. The snow covered trees reflecting the soft golden light of the winter sun was like looking into a magical land. Wila’s tail quivered. Round yellow eyes found their way over to Flame, wide with amazement. ”It’s so pretty out here,” she breathed, all the more excited to see what the forest had to offer.
Creamsicle »
Crossing the moor was unlike anything Creamsicle had ever done. Even back in her human den she had been surrounded by the woods, enclosed by tall trees with briars and brambles further out. This open land was not something the kit was used to, and while the grasses were tall enough to hide her and her mostly white pelt blended in almost perfectly with the snow, she still couldn’t help but feel exposed. Where she would have once looked up to see branches criss crossing across the sky, dappling the canopies with blue, she now saw open sky with nothing to hide it. Creamsicle stared up at the vast expanse of dove gray that rolled silently above them. Snow continued to fall in white flakes. The kit shivered. Not only was it cold, but the exposed sky was a fearful sight for the young molly. She felt as if at any moment something from the sky could come forth and swoop her right up. Creamsicle remembered a tale her mother had once told her about a hawk that had circled her for hours and hours, surely waiting to catch her off guard so that it could swoop down and take her for its prize. Creamsicle had to wonder if her mother had been somewhere like the moor when that happened; she couldn’t imagine something like that happening out in the woods where the branches obscured any flying creature’s eyesight. But why would her mother have been out on the moorland? It was an odd question to ponder, and yet, one that did not have an answer.
Creamsicle followed in silence, eager to make it back to Cotton’s den. She hoped that the old cat’s home wasn’t underneath all the open sky - no matter how tired she would eventually get she didn’t think she could sleep without something to cover the heavens above.
Her attention was turned away from how open the sky was to Cotton when she heard rustling up ahead. Creamsicle’s ears perked and she stepped closer to the older feline, nuzzling against Cotton’s back leg. The kit managed to follow through the woven grasses that had been held back, but she paused in her steps at the sight of the dark tunnel entrance. Anxiety fluttered in her chest. A part of her wanted to call out to Cotton and express her fear, but a cold wind that pushed through the thick grasses reminded Creamsicle just how cold it was outside. Urged by the chill she found her paws again and quickly followed after Cotton. She saw each individual section of the burrow that they were traversing down, but she didn’t stop to actually see the sections. The young kit didn’t want to stop and then Cotton get too far ahead. What if there was a turn somewhere down there and Creamsicle got lost because she couldn’t find Cotton? She didn’t stop until Cotton did, and once the old molly had quit walking so did Creamsicle, and finally she allowed herself to actually observe the area. There wasn’t much to the den save for some dead grasses and a single nest. Creamsicle took a step toward the best before pausing to look over at Cotton. ”Is this your nest?” She asked, now becoming curious about this den’s setup.

Alice »
Alice stayed where she was, silently sitting there as the other feline began to take bites out of the hawk. As she waited for answers to her questions, she began to groom out her fur; her pelt wasn’t that much of a mess, but from taking down the hawk earlier a few tufts of hair had been pulled out or had become ruffled. Alice was not a prissy cat. She had never been one to care about her looks or appearances, but when she knew her pelt was ruffled she would do what she could to make herself look presentable, especially when she was around a stranger. Alice knew next to nothing about this black cat, and she wasn’t about to present herself as a ruffian.
It wasn’t until the other cat spoke up that Alice broke her silence. These sort of questions were commonly asked whenever she told outsiders that she came from the barn. Quite a few cats lived there, sometimes there were more cats that lived there and sometimes there were less, but there weren’t many cats that Alice came across that understood the reasoning for why she stayed at the barn. ”The twolegs don’t mess with us all that often. They’ll throw food out for us sometimes, and if one of us are sick they’ll heal us, but that’s about it,” Alice explained simply, shrugging her shoulders in a nonchalant fashion. This wasn’t her talking down to the other cat or trying to explain to her in such a way that a mother would to her kits, and by remaining nonchalant about it all Alice hoped she wasn’t coming off as condescending.
The abandoned twoleg nest. Alice’s ears perked upward; she knew that place. The tortoiseshell had been born out in the pine forest. It was the place she, her littermates, and her mother had called home for the first few moons of Alice’s life, and when her mother had fallen pregnant again, she had decided to move in with her mate at the barn. There her mother had given birth to a small litter of sickly kits. When the twolegs had noticed an old queen and her kits, they had taken the weak kittens but only Wonder had returned. Alice still wondered what had happened to her younger siblings - she knew they had died, but how they had died was still a mystery to her. Had the twolegs done something to them? Surely not or they would have killed Wonder as well, but not even Wonder knew what had happened as she had been much too small to remember anything about all that. Either way, she still had one of her younger siblings and for that Alice was grateful.
But back to the main topic at hand here - the old twolegplace. Alice had been born near that area, but that thought wasn’t what had her narrowing her eyes toward the black cat. She had been questioned about living near twolegs when this cat lived where twolegs once did. Sure, twolegs still actively lived near the barn, but it wasn’t like they had ever occupied the barn. The tortoiseshell wanted to say something snarky about this, but she held her tongue. Now wasn’t the time to become prickly. She didn’t want claws to become unsheathed over some comment that Alice could make. Instead she remained formal, the only subtle sign of her earlier thoughts were a flick of her tail-tip and the narrowing of her eyes.
”Binx is an interesting name,” Alice replied casually, once again falling into her nonchalance like earlier. The black cat had a name that did not sound like it had come from a rogue or loner background - many cats that had been born in the wild to wild parents received names more akin to something like Leaf or Storm. Somewhere in this cat’s past she had been around twolegs long enough to receive a kittypet-esque name. ”I’m called Alice.” It was a twoleg-esque name, but it made more sense for her to have such a name considering she lived close to twolegs. Many of her barnmates had twoleg-like names, and that made sense, but Alice fell silent after that, curious to see if this Binx character thought the same.
Percy »
It wasn’t every day that Percy had a guest over in his own den. Had he known he would be returning with a friend he would have cleaned out his den some before leaving this morning in search of food. Luckily he already had a second nest set up - it hadn’t been used in seasons, but Percy always had an extra nest just in case somebody needed to stay in his den. That didn’t mean it was always tidy in the den or that the nest was essentially fresh, but it was there for whenever somebody needed it.
A brief pang thudded inside his chest. How many times had he offered his den for a stranger? How many times had he told them they could stay for as long as they wanted? How many times had he had hoped, deep down, that they would never leave and that he could have a companion with him? Percy thought about the last few cats that had taken him up on his offer to stay. Most of the cats would only stay for a night or two, but there had been a few that would stay longer, some longer than others. Percy couldn’t help but recall the last cat that had stayed with him for more than just a few days - she had been a pretty molly with soft gray and white fur. Dainty and skittish as she was, she was a wonderful huntress and had a wide array of stories that she shared with Percy once she had warmed up to him. Her name had been Lavender, and just when Percy thought she would stay with him, he had woken up one morning to see her gone. At first he had thought she had just gone out hunting before the sunrise, but days turned into moons, moons turned into seasons, and eventually Percy had to give up hope of ever seeing Lavender again. Even thinking about her now still stirred his heart in a painful way.
Percy glanced over at Smoke, longing in his eyes. Would Smoke stay with him or would he end up like Lavender, leaving him in the dead of the night?
He shook his head. No, now wasn’t the time to think about that. He just needed to be grateful that he had ran into Smoke and that Smoke wanted to spend time with him even if it was just for tonight. Percy hoped it would be longer than that, especially since they planned on finding cats who knew more about the territories and Clans of old, but he knew not to get his hopes up too high.
Pushing down all the doubts and misgivings that wanted to crowd his mind, Percy offered his newfound friend a smile. ”It’s not as clean as I’d like it, but at least I always have a second nest ready,” he purred, pointing toward the guest nest with a flick of his tail. ”Thank you for coming over. It’s…been a while since I’ve had somebody join me.” A genuine smile appeared over the ginger and white tom’s face. He kept his gaze on Smoke a moment longer, lingering on the form of the gray tabby, before he pulled away to lap at his pelt, getting rid of the melted snowflakes that had clumped into his fur.

Lada Location: Forest With: Open
The molly's expression was sour, which she knew. Lada's a capable cat, not that she had much of a choice. But one thing she knows for sure, is her stomach does not agree with the lack of prey its getting.
The storm had nearly buried her, Lada had been weary of the slowly dropping weather. But she was caught at a bad time, when it actually hit. Now all of the prey she had been looking for at the time is either safe and warm in their burrows, or trees. With an annoyed breathe, she steps lightly on the fluffy snow. She's just thankful for her coat, though short, its rather dense, so no freezing for her today.
Glancing carefully around the snow covered forest, she pauses in her steps when she hears rustling. Quickly lowering herself down, even if her pelt rather stands out. She'd rather not try her luck, so she lightly takes a breathe of air, searching for any scents.
The moment Lada heard the sounds of what she easily made out to be a mouse, over to her left scrounging around in a bush. She stepped gently, diligently making her way closer and closer..
It was, unfortunately, in one of the those briar patches, which Lada almost didn't notice. She debates for a moment, if the pricks would be worth the lackluster, skin and bones meal, and lets out a nearly desperate huff. her ears swiveling, she glances around to the forest, and decides to leave the mouse be. She ought to find somewhere warm for now, and hunt when its less dark.
She hadn't been that hungry anyway.
With that statement, Lada turned tail and went back in the direction she had originally been going. If she remembers correctly, there should be a tall, and sturdy tree around here. It has a perfect alcove in its base, that's usually surrounded by bushes. Hopefully those bushes kept some of the snow from getting too layered inside of the little nest..
With glim hope, she trudged further along her chosen path, shaking snow off of her leg with a tired huff. It shouldn't be too too far from, maybe she'll get there by, she glances up through the thicket of snow covered trees.. moonhigh? Hopefully.
As the feline made her way through the snow, the darkening sky making her bright eyes stand out even more in the darkness. She finally spotted the tree.
It certainly looked snow covered, and the biting breeze that went by not helping the matter. Leaping the last few steps towards the bushes, she didn't waste a moment to dig at the snow. Getting enough out of the way for her to bush through the leafbare bushes, and towards the little den.
Setting her paws on the edge, she hopped up, and into the perfectly sized cocoon. Not too much snow managed to make its way inside, though still quite chilly. Lada knew it was better then being stuck in the snow though, so she set her paws further into the tree, and wasted not another, other second to curl up in a shivering pile of fur.
Maybe she'll manage to survive the next few days.

Flame Location: Forest With: Wila ( Feathertalon) Flame successfully kept himself from saying the cheesy line his brain had prepared him, taking a moment without speaking to come up with an actually good response. "You should see it in the spring. A lot of the trees have flowers on them, and the smells are amazing. We'll have to come back once everything thaws out.", he said, flicking his tail across her shoulders, before he headed away from the fence, towards the treeline. The snow and the lack of undergrowth made it easy to look for threats, but Flame saw none, even as they kept going into the forest. He made sure Wila stayed close to him, leading the way. While he'd never been into the forest, he'd seen it from afar enough to have a vague sense of where to go. "If we keep going this way, there's a river that separates the moor and forest. You can see it from the tip of the town.", he said, nodding towards where the fenceline continued towards the mountains. "Or we can go to the pine part of the forest, if we want to try hunting we may have a better chance there. The needles keep the snow from forming too big of drifts, so there may be prey there.", he said, wanting Wila to decide where they should go.

runningsky123 I actually didn't know that about rosy boas! I'm more well versed in corn snakes and ball pythons - that sucks tho that your mom isn't into snakes, but I get it. My mom was the same way - every time I asked her for one she would always say you can have one when you move out, so it's like the first thing I did when I got a place with my roommate Also I'm actually working on my replies right now! Myst yeah, I was starting to do some research to see what kind of snake, and rosy boas are perfect cause I really want a snake I can handle, cause I love handling them. Scarlett is a sweetheart and I love handling her when they come over (she loves to do her jungle snake thing and wrap part of the end of her tail around my arm and just dangle like a vine XD). And no worries! Just making sure I didn’t forget any replies cause I’m pretty sure I got them all but you never know lol

Binx -- The Mountains | With Alice - Feathertalon She never understood where the twolegs got such large animals, or why said animals would stay. Sure, they had plenty of land to roam around, but it seemed like they were always supervised by the farmers or a pack of dogs, neither of which sounded particularly pleasant to her. Then again, she most definitely knew that she had a heavily skewed bias when it came to humans. Even with that in mind, she couldn’t really imagine being restricted to such a place. ’If she was restricted, she wouldn’t be out here.’ She glanced up at the molly, pondering this new thought. Maybe it was something specific to living at the barn? Her experience with two legs was very short lived so she didn’t actually know all too much about them and had simply assumed they would do harm to herself and others.
When the tortoiseshell responded to her comments, confusion flitting across her features for a brief moment. Not only did they leave the cats alone, but they healed them? Binx couldn’t imagine such a thing to be true. Yet, she had said it so casually, as if it was common knowledge. As if everyone knew this was how a relationship with twolegs worked. Again, her curiosity got the better of her as she asked, ”They aren’t the ones causing the damage, then? How do they heal you?” It wasn’t a concept she was able to wrap her mind around., twolegs healing cats.
She didn’t miss the way her eyes narrowed at her answer. She could only assume it was something she said, but she wasn’t too sure of which part. Perhaps where she lived? It was fair, the black she-cat supposed. She would question herself too after hearing it. After all, she didn’t even want to stay there herself – she simply wasn’t confident enough to venture away from the only ‘home’ she could remember. It also could’ve been her name, but she couldn’t begin to know why it would cause such a reaction. Regardless, Binx couldn’t help but avert her gaze as heat rushed to her ears.
Even when she gave her name, she didn’t look up as she polished off what was left of the hawk. Alice… Odd name, just like hers. Maybe from a twoleg? She couldn’t think of any other way she’d get such a name. But that wasn’t for her comment on, now was it? “Thank you for the meal, Alice.” With a proper thanks between them, she decided it was time to go if only it meant she could get over herself. “And I’m sorry to bother you on your day out. I’ll just… be out of your way - figure you want to get back before the snow gets bad.” In truth, she just wanted to be left to her embarrassment. She wasn’t sure what she had said, but the reaction hadn’t been pleasant, so it was better to get a move on. Not that she’d actually make it back before being trapped in the storm – she’d have to find somewhere else to stay, if there was anywhere else. She was very sure that every other wild cat in the area was hunkered down somewhere safe already.
Bo -- The Farm | With Spark - runningsky123 He was sure that he’d likely never know another team of dogs. Spark and Confetti were perfect packmates as far as he was concerned, he couldn’t recall a time where they’d had any problems working together. The twolegs had gotten himself and the collie around the same time so they’d bonded rather easily. Confetti still had some growing to do but had fit into their dynamic easily. Surely if the farmer got anymore dogs it would turn out just the same.
Following Spark through the snow, he sniffed the air occasionally, finding nothing out of the ordinary as they moved. The snow was fairly tall, but nothing that would really hamper the movement of any of the animals. That meant that it would hopefully be a relaxing day and Bo would get to enjoy the snow. It was wonderful to him, there was just something about the snow that just got him going. Rolling in it, tossing it around, there was no end to the joy he would get out of it. Of course, he didn’t really know why he enjoyed it so much, he simply did, and that’s just how it was.
