Jack took a look at the screen, it certainly looked like it could be the journal that Adeline was talking about. No cover was a good sign, much like his own. Mysterious tombs like this were bound to have some sort of answer hidden away in them. If only he had that one book that Javalle seemed to be reluctant to give up.

During the time that Javalle and Adeline were talking, that freak who had accosted Jack earlier had seemed to move spots. Wether it was to attract more attention or that the cops had finally had enough of his shouting to make him move, he didn’t know or care. He could just barely make him outside through a nearby window. His werewolf hearing strained to hear him from the distance between them (not that he really wanted to listen to the ravings of a mad man, no matter how much he was somewhat right), but when the megaphone the man was using sent feedback, that was something his ears were able to pick up. It was muffled slightly, but he couldn’t the mild flinch his body gave. He hid it as best he could, but he was sure someone noticed. It was like waking up in the hospital. It was so new to him that even the beeping and clicking of the machines were too much at some point.

He flashed his eyes towards Javalle. No doubt with his feline hearing, the feedback did not go unnoticed, but he didn’t seemed to be affected by it like he had.

Werewolves probably can’t do high-pitched noises. Noted.

(Since there not a whole lot that he can do to contribute at the moment, I decided to be mean to Jack again and gave Sherman a cameo. He’s fine, don’t worry. I’m sure when the hunter plot gets going, they’ll be even worse about it than I was lol)

(Lol as I have said before, Jack was made to suffer. I’m not entirely cruel though, he’ll get some victories every now and then)

Maria let out a deep sigh of relief, having not realized she was holding her breath. She didn't know what she would do if both her parents were already against mr. Javalle. Sitting on her bed she looked up at Lexa and said, "That is good at least. Maybe I might not have to deal with two parents waiting to ruin the only friendship I got." Honestly, she really didn'twant her life to get sadder than it already was.
Gonna be honest, don't know what to do now.)

Javalle sat back with an appeased air flowing through their posture. Adeline sounded quite satisfied with the results of their search. All in an afternoon's work!

A tiny ring teased the back of their ears, so faint that Javalle would've ignored it completely if he hadn't heard it before. But it still persisted. The shifter’s composure wavered as the corner of their eye twitched. Risking a glance at Jack, he noticed that he tensed up briefly, clearly sensitive to the feedback. In an instant Javalle knew what, or rather who, had caused it.

Great. Looks like Sherman's back to his pathetic tricks.

The conspiracy theorist's presence was much too prevalent for Javalle's liking. Their obnoxious protests rallied quite the scene in town, and the were-lynx spotted them every so often returning books loaded with supernatural nonsense. Javalle was even a victim of a couple of their ill-intended accusations, and while untrue, it didn't stop the shifter from laying out a more territorial boundary along the library.

Perhaps Jack and Adeline had a freak encounter with Griffindale's resident laughing stock.

Adeline's question made Javalle realize that he was probably staring at Jack a little too harshly, and they promptly snapped their vision back to her. But the fact he hadn't asked about something as obvious as a library card made them cringe internally. He had no clue if Jack made the notion to obtain one after their interview. A series of ideas buzzed in Javalle's head, which tumbled out of his lips rather suddenly.

"I know that there's a station near the front where you can get your picture taken for a physical card. But naturally an online card would be ideal to get this journal checked out, yes? Do you both want a rundown on how to get a digital card?" The question lingered as Javalle clasped their hands together, senses becoming a tinge stronger to ward off the intruder outside.

(Sherman truly is something else. Would be funny if he was right about some cryptid or monster in the woods but as usual no one believes him)

Once the ringing in his ears finally stopped from that stupid megaphone, Jack finally realized that Adeline had been talking to him. Something about a library card? A hand reached for his back pocket and he fished out his wallet. He may have gotten a library card here, but that was also probably on his list of "things I gotta do" when he was living in the motel. Sure enough, no library card in sight. Well... Good thing he works here now.

Then he heard Javalle mention something about digital cards or something. He nodded in response when his coworker offered to explain. For some reason, he didn't have the energy to use his voice. Probably still recovering from the sharp noise earlier.
