Maria looked at her mom and thought for a moment. On one hand she was kinda mad at her and dad. However, on the counter she wasn’t really the one who was rude, that was her dad. With a slightly forced smile she said, “S-Sure you can mom, I a willing to talk for a little bit.”

Martha makes her way into Maria's room and sits down next to her. She considers her thoughts for a moment before speaking. "So, how are you feeling?" She asked.

“How am I feeling?” Maria parroted. To her that was a strange thing for her mother to ask. Obviously she wasn’t the happiest girl in the world given what her father did. Looking downward she said, “Honestly mom, not to well considering everything that dad is making big bro and sis do.”

Seemingly automatically, Jack worked to get his legs under him. Shaky hands slowly raised and felt the bookshelf behind him. His legs were weak and trembled with the sheer pathetic attempt of simply standing. He couldn’t get himself off the ground for god’s sake…
If Jack was in the right state of mind, his face would’ve been burning with embarrassment. Right now though, he felt as if he was standing ten feet behind him, heart pounding away, fingers burning, and sweat starting to bead on his forehead.
Get up.
Get up!
“T-T-T… Trrrryyyinngg…” he moaned, not even aware his mouth had moved at all.
After groping the bookshelf for what seemed like an eternity, he managed to get some sort of grip -feeling the wood creak and crack from the strength of the hold when a shutter of pain went through his body- to heave himself to… some sort of standing position. A half stand, half crouch seemed to be the best he could do. Jack locked his legs and leaned all of his weight on the bookshelf, knocking some of the books to the ground.

Martha resists the urge to let out a sigh. "I know you are upset, but your father is just being cautious. Some rogues can be dangerous, and he just wants to make sure this man has no ties with the rogue group or that he has alterative motives."

A watchful and slightly puzzled Javalle observed his coworker’s attempt to stand on two feet again. He's making progress- that's good. While the bookkeeper had a small stirring of relief, they still grimaced as Jack leaned their full weight on a shelf clearly meant to only carry more than a few rows of books.
Inching closer, Javalle idly noticed a stack of stories that now lay scattered. Goodness, that old creaky shelf really was clinging on to dear life. He needed to let Jack transfer their weight onto something more stable.
And that meant-
Gazing upon the other man’s tense, aching body. Javalle repressed an uncomfortable groan. Jack's not going to like this. He reached out, and wrapped a steady arm around his waist, slowly reeling Jack in so he had a bit more leverage relying on them. At least, in Jack’s crouching position, the pair were more or less even in height. Nearly.
Drawing in a breath, the were-lynx was thankful he still had a fraction of superhuman strength left over from last night. Should make things less difficult. Intentionally avoiding contact from Jack's worried blue eyes, Javalle considered a new possibility. Someone needed to be a logical thinker, after all.
“Suppose we should let Adeline know about what's happening before we head outside? I don’t want to leave your friend in the dark about this. Though I can't leave you behind either.”
Embarrassingly, this wasn't the first time he’s had to deal with a panicked werewolf today. And Javalle was in no way an expert on handling these emotional flare ups.

Her father’s worry was completely out of left field. Rouges have been a problem, an especially dangerous one at that. But that wasn’t Javalle, no way! With a groan she said, “Mister Javalle isn’t like that, I just know he’s not. Why would he bother helping me if you just wanted to hurt me?”

Martha wished he had an answer but didn't say anything at the moment. After a while she began to speak up, "If he has nothing to hide then him meeting your father should be a breeze right? They might end up having a chat and once your father realizes that he's no threat he will leave him alone."

Maria rolled her eyes slightly at her mother. Of course he had stuff to hide, all people do. Prying into someone's private life is bound to pull some skeleton out of their closet. It also didn't help that no matter what it was her dad would blow it out of proportion. Groaning as she flopped onto her bed she bemoaned, "Mom, how often do dads 'chats' ever end well?"

Nola With Jenna (bloodrosepelt )–-------------------------------Nola felt a prickle of relief, and a nagging of worry at the excited, quick response from Jenna. She should definitely not be so… quick and eager to come to anyone’s home without knowing them. You can know someone’s name, and they’ll still be a stranger, frankly. But at least she won’t be putting up a fuss. Not about coming to Nola’s house without question anyway..Nola keeps a solid grip on the little racoon-shifter’s hand, and takes a quick glance around. Her house isn’t too far- “To the- ah.. My burrow it is.” She says, a trickle of amusement bleeding into her words. The amusement only builds at Jenna’s growing frustrations. “Not that one-” She says, looking to the many places Jenna points. “Or that one.” She adds. She can see the frustration on Jenna’s face, the way her grip tightens in Nola’s hand.. Nola sighs quietly. “It’s close, not too long of a walk from here. It’s a nice little two story green and white painted house. You’ll know it when you see it.” Nola explained, looking down to Jenna properly. She must be weak- tired, so many things. “Would you like me to carry you?” She pauses, “A piggy back ride, maybe?”

AdelineWith Jack (Junospower ), Javalle (lazzylake )------------------------------------------------Worry is Adeline’s natural state of being- unfortunately, but the.. The- weird happenings she’s been dealing with lately has heightened those reactive instincts. The panic. Pulse racing just a bit faster than her relaxed tempo. She’s a bit shaky, so she puts her hands in her pockets. The hairs rising on the back of her neck reminds her of the blood she had felt. The small, uncomfortable droplet rolling down her neck, like wet hair dripping onto your skin after a shower.Oh no. Oh hell no. She takes a quick glance around before walking a bit too quickly to the bathroom. Reasonable, Adeline thinks. It’s easy to find. There were a few signs pointing towards them. They’re nice too, bright and clean, with crystal clear mirrors.Adeline is in front of a mirror moments later, and turns the sink on, scrubbing the red stain on her hand off. Her hand is a bit raw faster, but clean. (Is it?) Adeline felt a bit like she had whiplash. She was fine, then remembered, and suddenly not so fine. It- the blood- makes her stomach do a bit of a flip as she moves her hair out of the way, and sees.. Nothing. Spotless. She checks her hair for any red.. And also none.Adeline gets a spare rubber band and puts her hair up into a quick and messy bun before she feels.. Alright enough to leave the oddly comforting confines of the restroom. The little howler seems to be having a few issues, Adeline. The kind-librarian might appreciate some assistance, hm?The voice makes her stiffen. Adeline shivers, briefly, not from the cold. She rubs at her forehead, before shaking her head. It’s- it’s talking about Jack ‘little howler’? Right? Why.. right- Werewolf. Shifter? Something. And the kind-librarian. Okay. Weird voice that’s starting to maybe not just be schizophrenia or something seems to like- uh, Javalle, yes, right.I appreciate your attentiveness, Adeline. And now the voice is being nice. Come onWhispering makes her pause. And pause and realize she’s just been walking- somewhere? She looks around at a bit of a loss, before actually taking proper stock of her surroundings. Well. More like the situation going on -right- in front of her.“Javalle-? What..” Adeline is fumbling before she even started speaking, glancing between the two. Jack looks like he’s struggling to even stand- and Javalle looks as equally struggling to keep Jack upright.“What happened?”
