before Lexa could say anything, Sage suddenly dashed off. She inwardly groaned wondering why young shifters would just constantly run off like that! She glances back at Maria and Javelle. "Suppose it won't do me much good to tell you go home?" She had a feeling Maria would want to follow her.

Nightshade nearly jumped out of her skin. She immediately stood up and stopped acting silly. “Uhm…” How in the hell did I manage to run into another shifter? This town must be brimming with them… She coughed. “Uh I’m also a shifter I guess. And, what do you have against dragons?”

Maria gave Javalle a small nod as he started following him back to Sage and her sister. However, she froze in place things suddenly got dark for a second as something flew over head. With an exacerbated sigh just lamented her fate. Be it in the dead of night or shinning day, no peace will be known to her in this hellish place. As she got closer to her sister she blushed while whining, "I don't know how to get out of this forest, I wouldn't know how to get home anyways!"

Nightshade looked suspiciously at ‘Sage’. Instead of replying to her question she said, “Sage is a symbol of immortality and wisdom.” She looked down at herself. She supposed that it would be weird to just be chilling in the forest and then a black dragon came soaring out of the sky. Her tail flicked irritably while she thought of a response. “Uhm… you can call me Nightshade.” I need to get out of here… she thought. Her eye flickered to the sky, wondering if she should just get out of there now. Damn sun. she cursed in her mind as that hateful ball of fire revealed itself again. Go away! I need to leave. And now I can’t because it’ll make me shrivel into dust. So instead, she began walking with great strides away from the fox. Maybe they’ll take the hint and not follow me… I gotta get back to my stuff.

ᓚᘏᗢ Adeline glanced up from where she was almost dazedly reading more about uh.. 'Wolf'- Shifter - 'Repellent', pausing when she sees it's Jack. Adeline fumbles slightly, when she almost drops the book in a habitual gesture to wave, catching it promptly with an awkward, strained smile. The smiled dropped pretty quick. "Uh- are you're hands.. better?- I mean, of course they are- they didn't.." She hesitates for a few seconds, shifting on her tennis shoes before taking in a slightly sharp breath. "How are your hands.. perfectly fine?- An- and your leg? I mean-.." Adeline's questions are haphazard, but she needs to know. Adeline near instantly closes her mouth, teeth clacking painfully. Oh God, did she just not so subtly ask someone she's known for a week if they have- super healing? Yes. You did! Bravo, hatchling.( And in the far distance, some random guys protests signs are being pecked by a crow like they're the birds worst enemy-) he muttered as he shoved his hands in his pockets again. Metaphorical hackles raised at what he perceived as an accusatory tone. She was really focused on his hands… and leg again. Did she…? She did. No doubt she did. She saw his hands. She saw her hands. Oh god. There was a chance she hasn’t connected the pieces yet. Honestly if it wasn’t for that guy in the streets he probably wouldn’t be falling apart at the seems the way he was. He was probably freaking her out a bit with him all quiet and stiff, especially after he glanced at what she was reading. ‘Wolf Repellent’…? He didn’t blame her, but he felt a strange pang in his chest. Just tell her.Tell her and get it over with.She already thinks you’re a monster.
He turned his head and tried to look like he was browsing the shelves, ignoring the sting of frustrated tears in the corner of his eyes. (Homeboy’s about to spill) |

Javalle and Maria were preparing to walk back to the other two shifters when the sky went dark. The were-feline abruptly glanced up, astonished. He wondered for one wild second if there was a solar eclipse he didn't know about, but then the figure swooped down dangerously close to where Lexa and Sage were, obscured by the many trees of the forest, and the were-lynx heard a loud series of flapping noises as it begun to descend. Javalle glanced at Maria, perplexed, but his partner only sighed, seeming accustomed to whatever was happening. Being outside the pack, Javalle just thought the brief blocking of light was a normal occurrence for the Primal Bloods. Yet, there was one burning thought searing it's way into Javalle's consciousness... a shifter fabled through legend.
Was that... Really what I think it was?
Eventually the pair made it to the clearing, and Sage, the sky fox, was mysteriously missing. Did she turn invisible again? Perhaps Lexa could provide some context behind this phenomenon. Turning to Maria's older sister, Javalle couldn't help but laugh. "Well- I was about to. But now I'm invested." Javalle had that same thrill when he was reading a book he couldn't put down. Mind overflowing with questions rising to a boil. The only thing that would satisfy their intense curiosity would be answers.
(Sorry for not responding earlier guys. A severe storm passed the area and I freaked out a bit- it wasn't even predicted on the forecast?? It's mostly subsided now but it was just very unexpected and kept me up. Now I can't sleep so I thought I'd keep my brain occupied through here!)

Sage examined the dragon before realizing she was leaving, "wait!" Sage exclaimed before the dragon could take off, "please stay, I want to learn more of the shifter world," and dragons, her mind continued.

Nightshade turned back to Sage. "And what makes you think I have any knowledge of the shifter world?" Her mind was racing. She could practically hear the others Sage surely had been with coming towards them. You shouldn't have done it today. What you should have been doing was looking for a place to stay for a while. But instead you decided to go for a joy-flight and now you have to pay the price. Her tail flicked irritably and she narrowed her eyes. However when she was about to take off into the sky again, the sun came back particularly bright and she was forced to back up into the shadows. Her form disappeared into the darkness as she wrapped her wings around her. "Were you with anyone?" she asked in a strained voice as she tried to see if there was anyone else who would follow the were-fox. Maybe I should just try to knock her out with smoke... no. She's too small and she'll die from the toxins. Her eyes darted around as she tried in vain to look for an escape route but she didn't see any.

Name: Leo Buckwood Description: Tall and thin, blond-haired with grassy green eyes, white Age: 24 What you are: Were- hawk pheonix Creature Description: A bright red hawk with orange under-wings fading into yellow. The hawk has a yellow-orange chest and pericing blue eyes and can burst into flames when needed or threatened. Personality: Kind and somewhat introverted, loves calm walks in the forest and reading Background: was out exploring with Sage the day of her attack. When she was injured by a fox he rushed her back into the house, but he was curious of why a fox had attacked them. So he went off in search of the fox, Leo thought he saw a flash of orange so when he went off into bushes he found a bright orange and red hawk, when the hawk saw him it bursted into flames and gave him a small scratch on his arm, but it burned and stinged, agony had rushed through his arm and he ran to the nearest river possible. When he stuck his arm in the agony died down (litttle did he know it wasn't because of the water it was because of his developing small imuneness to fire) he didn't think much of it and decided he didn't want people to think he was crazy so he said to his parents the fox gave him a small scratch too. Family: Sage Buckwood Romantic Interests: none yet Other: Favorite color is blue and here is a short explanation of pheonixes in my image: Each pheonix takes the form of a normal bird, hawk, owl, eagal, sparrow, etc, but each of them are a bright red orange and yellow. They have the ability to burst into flames and stay normal, but normal is often warm to the touch. Weakness consist of: Cold water and ice, and Gold weapons. Leo stared into the vast forest ahead of him. Only a little bit ago his mother and father had been questioning why Sgae, his little sister, was in such a bad mood. Despite them trying their best they couldn't get any info out of her, and she had ran into the forest. After the fox incedent when she was 8, Leo half expected her to now hate the forest but it had made her bond with it stronger, and she went to it when she needed her own time to think. Leo looked around to see if anyone was watching, then turned into his hawk form, "Hello old buddy," he muttered. It had been a while since he used his hawk-pheonix shift, the first time he had shifted it wasn't that long after Leo encountered the other pheonix, the day after, he was lucky to be in the forest at the time because it had been a full moon, after the sun had set he had become this majestic creature. Yes, Leo had been much confused but he had heard of were-creatures in the news, dispite his parents trying to hide it. Leo had thought it was just a myth, but he ran into another shifter that night, a were-bear, named Max. Max had taught him everything he could. Due to Max not even knowing Were-mythics existed. After about a week Max and Leo had become good friends, and would often teach each other new things they found out about shifts and forms. Atlas, not all good things lasted in Leo's life, and he later found his friend's bear form dead. Bleeding out in the forest, alone. Whatever killed him didn't even do anything with his body. It just, left it.
Leo had payed his respects and buried the body. He hoped to find revenge but knew not who did it. After a mounth of searching he quit, and only came into the forest on full moons when he couldn't cotrol it. So now, he was searchng in the same forest for his little sis. Leo hoped the forest wouldn't treat Sage the same way it had treated Max. He remembered telling Max's parents the sad story, they knew about shifters, and were ones, but they had been heart broken. Leo didn't want to have to go through the same thing with his parents if Sage wasn't okay, they didn't even know about shifters! All of a sudden a dark shape shadowed across him, his feathers burst to flames in fright and burned a nearby bramble bush. Oops Leo thought, but what was that?. Leo put out the flames in his feathers and turned to smoke as he ventured into the forest to find his sister, "Sage? Sage!" he tried, even though he knew it was hopeless.

Nightshade looked up at the shouts of a male. "Sage! Sage!" He yelled. She recoiled and covered her face with her wings as he grew closer. HOW MANY OF THESE DAMN SHIFTERS ARE THERE IN THIS TOWN. She began shifting again until it was just the two legged form. Taking a breath she took off into the brush while Sage was distracted. She dodged out of the way of sunlight and kept to the shadows. Eventually she came to her stuff. Quickly throwing it all on, she shifted back to human form and ran down the street until she came to a shop. Going inside, she leaned up against a wall and caught her breath.

Sage stared into the forest, "Was that-?" she muttered, "No- no no, I can't let him see me like this! Quick!" she turned to Lexa, "How do I turn back?" but before she got an answer a smoky figure appeared from the woods and quickly faded into a brightly colored hawk.
Okay.. great.. more shifters- Leo thought sarcasticly, but maybe they saw her past by... "Erm- hello," Leo said carfully, "I can tell your all shifters like me and wondering why the heck is there a pheonix, but have you seen a young girl walking by-? pretty short, steaming anger? Her name's Sage and I need to find her before my parents find out I left too," His gaze settled on the shifters, each one was in human form, Exept for that fox- hmf, always disliked foxes. Ever since that incedent...

Nightshade noticed a guy standing nearby and she looked away quickly. She wondered if that fox would be able to track her using scent… no she’d probably be fine. At least she hoped so. Her attention wandered around the shop. It was more of a convenience store. She sidled over to the snacks section and her worry immediately melted as she saw that they had her favorite snack. Yes! She picked up the bar of original bubble gum and looked at the price. Only 50 cents! She walked around until she found the food she would need for the next couple of days. Three bottles of water, chips, four things of instant noodles, and a bottle of iced tea… plus two packets of bubble gum. She went to the checkout station and found payed for the items. At the station was one of those cheesy tourist items, a keychain labeled “Shifters Wanted!” in old western writing. She snorted and added it to her pile of items. When it was all payed for she popped a stick of bubblegum in her mouth and went outside. She checked her phone and found that there was a library not too far away. Shouldering her now heavier backpack, she started to walk in the direction of the library.

With a slight whimper she started to crouch onto the ground into a fetal position. First the near run in with Yogi last night and now Smog, is this forest just cursed or what? While she was having her small panic attack she failed to notice the bird now talking to her elder sister. |

She is not qualified for this kind of situation. Closing the book with a loud enough 'thump' to maybe be a bit too loud, Adeline secures it under her arms, and sets her eyes on Jack firmly. "Jack." She starts, deep breaths, you've got this-
"You're.. okay. I got that. I just.." Adeline cringes at the slightly watery look in his eyes. "I feel like.. there's something I'm missing?" She flounders slightly, free hand twitching in an aborted gesture as she trails off. 'How about a trade?'A trade? 'Yes, a trade. A secret for a secret.'"I.. could feel it. Last night. Something wasn't right- not just.. with you today. But like- overall? Like something important.. was supposed to happen- or did happen?" She decides not to mention the blacking out thing, and weird 'visions'(??) of a bloodied, unnatural looking.. wolf. thing. (Oh! I love the blue-berried theme with BlackBerry (And or Raspberry!), and I'm just cackling because of his actual name and what it means- Also, spill the tea DAG NABIT!) |
