Mintpaw-Medicine Cat Den-Foxskip, Shadecreek, Hollyfeather, Frecklecloud
Mintpaw stirred from noise, the young tom whimpered, as a wave of nausea hit him. He squirmed in the nest, frowning at the strange combination on his leg. He perked scenting Foxskip, he tried to get to his paws, but he failed to find his footing. The young tom gave one more attempt before giving up, the movements doing nothing to aid in how he was feeling. Pressing his face against his paws, trying to block out what light was in the den.

 Lizardeye purred at the young cat's antics before she heard Shatterfrost speak. "No fatalities," She whispered, looking over at Oatstream. It was as if she didn't want to speak about something so severe in front of Wolfpaw, even though he was present for the entire conversation. Her meaning was clear though- wherever Dapplesky was, she wasn't dead on the battlefield.

As he expected, she was asking about Mintpaw, “I was already back at camp by the time he was out, but it’s his leg. They also think he hit his head,” he told her softly, “He… He came back so scared. I couldn’t- I couldn’t just leave him alone in his own nest…”

Weaselflare - Outside of camp - with Mossyleap (Dark )Weaselflare let out a low purr when she saw Mossyleap bounding over to her, glad to have some company while keeping watch. "Better to have some cats out here too," she purred. "Can't have any more nasty surprises. Besides, I'm sure they've got it all covered back in there." Dark , since the patrol is back now we can have Mossyleap and Weaselflare just spot them and follow them back into camp) Wolfpaw - Camp - with Lizardeye (bluewonder ) and Oatstream (Dark )"Hm, I don't know. That's what apprentices are for, isn't it?" he purred at Oatstream's remark, grinning. "But I might do it as a warrior anyway since it's you." When Shatterfrost spoke Wolfpaw nodded. He was a bit concerned about the more injured cats but it seemed like no one was going to die. The badger must have been really strong though if it took so many to deal with it. It made him all the more glad that the patrol had returned safely. He did feel a bit bad about not having been part of it but he also understood that they couldn't have just taken everyone Darkwhisper - Camp - Waspfang (briefly)
Darkwhisper kept an eye on the cats he kept before him and followed them into camp. When Waspfang told them that they all should get checked out by the medicine cats he nodded, glancing at the more injured ones of their patrol. He padded over to the medicine cat den but waited outside, wanting those with more serious wounds to go in there first. While he had gotten some cuts and bruises from the badger's earth attacks it wasn't so bad that he couldn't wait.
gonna put up my reply with Stoatpaw later but I'm gonna wait if Ember wants Tansypool to reply to her and Patchpaw before) also, finally gonna have Darkwhisper go look for Sootpaw once he and the rest of the patrol have been looked at by Cedarstorm, Sand ^^ Well, once he and Pebblepaw are back) |

(STOP Mintpaw is too cute ;-;) Hollyfeather- In Med Den- Junospower ; Sand ; Ember34 ; 🐦silvermoon2🐦 Hollyfeather faced Foxskip, immediately sensing her worry and distress. "He'll be fine, just some bruises and a sprained leg, nothing fatal," she meowed soothingly, trying to reassure the molly as much as she could. "Mintpaw will probably have to stay here for a while, considering his age, but I'll make sure to take good care of him." She dipped her head. (Ember, are we still going for the concussion thing ?) Oatstream w/ Lizardeye & Wolfpaw- bluewonder ; Pineclaw A purr rumbled from Oatstream's throat. "I bet Dapplesky went on a seperate patrol, thank Starclan." Shatterfrost w/ Thistlestar- bluewonder Shatterfrost approached Thistlestar with a dip of his head. "We successfully chased the badger off of Ivyclan territory. I assume it won't be back anytime soon. There were no fatal injuries as far as I could see." He flicked his tail. Mossyleap w/ Weaselflare- PineclawNoticing the patrol's arrival, Mossyleap pricked her ears. It looked and sounded like there weren't many severe injuries, and she let out a sigh of relief. |

In response to her question, Tinypaw padded out from the corner she was in' I'm here' she told her mother, padding over to her and pressing into her side,drinking in her reassuringly familiar scent.

( 1, Mintpaw is baby 2, I am personally scared of what Foxskip is going to do to me xD 3, here for Lizardeye and Oatstream being everyone's grandparent 2023 ) Lizardeye turned her attention back to Wolfpaw. "Mice will fly before you remember us as a warrior!" She said ruefully. "You just watch, you're going to become all strong, get your warrior name, go on a quest, get a powerstone, then find some little cat to pad after! You won't remember old Lizardeye and Oatstream until you're an elder yourself! And at that point, Oatstream and I will have thought up plenty of good pranks to play on you, like putting snails in your nest!"
 Open Thistlestar continued watching her clan from the Speaking Stone. She would assess the injuries of her clan soon, but if she went to Cedarstorm's den just now, she would only be in the way. Her eyes locked on Shatterfrost, knowing he would most likely come speak to her soon regarding the events of the day.
 Open! Waspfang sat a ways from the medicine den, licking a scratch on his flank. It wasn't deep, nor were most of his other cuts. He therefore waited his turn. He caught sight of Darkwhisper doing similarly. He had admired the way the warrior went for the badger's eyes earlier, and part of him wondered if he should say so. But he was done being complimentary. The thrill of battle expiring, Waspfang's more surly attitude was taking over once more, so he sat quietly to himself, licking his wounds.

Tansypool chuckled at the apprentices behavior. While he never got excited after battles, he at least could recall having the same level when he had mastered something he had been working on with his mentor. "Let's hope we don't get more of them, that one was a struggle to deal witb," he said. "Though I'm sure if we do, we all will have a better idea how to handle it." He grimaced thinking about the gathering, with the way thongs had been, he doubted they it would be a pleasant experience. "I'm sure it will definitely impress them over in Willowclan, maybe you could give pointers to your fellow apprentices there so they can stay safe." After all it was still their sister clan, they should watch out for the other cats there.
Mintpaw my sweet child, I promise after this baby I'll protect you so much, give you all the leaves you could want)

When we were apprentices I used to pop out and startle her all the time. It never got old," he mrrowed in amusement. "Just you watch out, you might be next!" he teased the apprentice. ( bluewonder - OMG yes Lizardeye and Oatstream are the OG grandparents to everyone) (Also, Blue, Shatterfrost already started talking to Thistlestar)

(Sorry I didn't see your last post, Dark! Also couldn't be bothered to look up each warrior in the battle specifically, so the cats named are the ones I saw first when I clicked back in the posts lol, not meaning to call anyone out) Thistlestar nodded, appreciative of her deputy's concise report. "Very good. We will up patrols near the pond the next few days to ensure it doesn't return. I trust you can oversee that." Thistlestar mewed nonchalantly. It was never her way to be impressed, even after a courageous badger battle. Likewise, she had given her deputies many responsibilities thus far- between supervising apprentice and warrior training to arranging patrols, and now another patrol would be added to the list. She knew though that if her deputies were to succeed her one day, however, they needed to be prepared for the many weights of responsibility. "Tell me, Shatterfrost, how did my warriors do?" She crouched lower on the stone, getting closer to where he was. "Oriolehop, Tansypool, Greenthorn... did everyone fight well?" She always loved keeping tabs on her warriors, and wanted to make sure each cat had pulled their own weight. If there was weakness in the clan, she would find it.

(At the very least I'll get my first post up tonight. Happy to be here and can't wait to properly meet everyone!  ) Brambletalon - In Camp - OPENBrambletalon had watched as the cats cam back into camp and breathed a sigh of relief that no one lost their lives. However, was also sad to see a few decently injured that made their way to the medicine cat den. "Thank Starclan," he murmured before getting distracted a small groan from his son Swiftclaw. Swiftclaw - In Camp - OPENSwiftclaw groaned watching the cats as they had come back into camp. "I should have been there. I'm one of the fastest cats here. I could have helped." his emerald eyes aimed down towards his paws grasping into the earth. Brambletalon responded with a small grin and licked his sons shoulder replying "That's exactly why you stayed here. We need the best Warriors here to protect our home in case of emergencies just like this." Despite believeing him, Swiftclaw knew he was just trying to make him feel better and let out a sigh of disappointment. Icepaw - In Camp - OPENIcepaw glanced around looking for Owlfoot hoping to see him, but then remembered he was out hunting. For a moment she glanced at the medicine cat den wondering if she should ask if they needed any help, but she didn't want to intrude. She may only have 2 moons to go before becoming a warrior, but knew someone of her age would more than likely asked to stay out of the way. |

Stoatpaw - Camp - with Patchpaw and Tansypool (bluewonder , Ember34 )Stoatpaw opened her mouth to contradict Patchpaw, wanting to say that that was hardly exciting or cool, especially considering how Shadecreek and Mintpaw had ended up, but she found that she actually shared his excitement. It was a pretty good feeling to know that the creature they had faced wasn't something the warrior with them had fought before. She let out a laugh and nodded. "What a way to start our training!" she purred. While Patchpaw has been an apprentice for longer than her he was only one moon ahead and thus still pretty much at the beginning. She slowed down a little as they entered camp but not by much, forcing herself to keep a somewhat steady pace. At the mention of the Willowclan apprentices she perked up. Since this was her first moon as an apprentice she hadn't been to any gatherings yet and while she didn't feel like socialising with apprentices from another clan she couldn't deny that she was a bit curious about them. And Tansypool was right, telling them about the earth badger might impress them. "I bet none of them has fought a badger like that yet," she meowed to Patchpaw. When the rest of the patrol came to a stop she was grateful to finally get a break. She sat down to catch her breath as some of the others began to walk over to the medicine cat den. Her expression darkened a little as she looked in that direction and with a sigh she climbed to her paws again. "Well, we better do what Shatterfrost says and let them look at us," she said. "I wanna see how Mintpaw is doing and let Tinypaw know that I'm okay." Wolfpaw - Camp - with Lizardeye and Oatstream (bluewonder , Dark )At the mention of Dapplesky Wolfpaw smiled a little, glad that Oatstream and Lizardeye didn't have to worry about her. He purred at Lizardeye going on about him forgetting her and the other elders and with a mischievous glint in his eyes he looked up at her for a second. "Hm..." he pretended to think about what she had said and then nodded. "You've got a point, Lizardtail," he meowed with a grin. "What do you think, Oatclaw? Will I really be that forgetful?" (Wolfpaw you little shit. I'm a little surprised at this guy, I didn't expect him to enjoy bantering with the elders this much!)
Weaselflare - Camp - with Mossyleap (Dark )Weaselstrike stood up straighter when she caught the scent of the patrol on soon they came into view. She dipped her head as Shatterfrost walked past them and eyed the cats following him. Everyone had made it back in one piece and she exchanged a relieved glance with Mossyleap. Once the patrol was back in camp Weaselflare flicked her tail. "Looks like they have dealt with the badger," she meowed. She narrowed her eyes a little and added "But Mintpaw and Stoatpaw still shouldn't have been part of this. I wonder what Thistlestar has to say for herself. There's no way Foxskip is gonna let this slide. You've seen how awful Mintpaw looked when Frecklecloud brought him here."

Mothdapple w/ Owlfoot- 🐦silvermoon2🐦Mothdapple padded next to the tom, keeping his ears pricked for any signs of danger- or even prey. "Hopefully the badger didn't scare any creatures away." Oatstream w/ Lizardeye & Wolfpaw- bluewonder; PineclawOatstream let out a huff. "At this rate, you'll forget us in the span of a moon!" Mossyleap w/ Weaselflare- PineclawMossyleap nodded in agreement. "We all saw how Foxskip reacted to Thistelstar's early appointing of her kits. She's going to have Thistlestar's pelt hung on a tree," she meowed, keeping her voice low.

Lizardeye rolled her eyes at her mate's antics. "Yup. Those constant heart-attacks are what won me over in the end." She said with dry sarcasm. She could remember vividly the days when they were apprentices. What was it with tomcats thinking the way to a she-cat's heart was annoying them to death? It worked out though- Lizardeye felt like they were a match made in Starclan. At Wolfpaw's words and Oatstream's reply, she purred and nudged Oatstream with a claw gently and teased, "Don't mind what he says, he forgets what he ate for breakfast most days!"
(Okay, so we can just shut down the rest of Ivyclan. All I need is Lizardeye, Oatstream, and Wolfpaw bantering til the end of time. )  Patchpaw nodded, agreeing with Tansypool. Moreso than gloating, his warning to the Willowclan apprentices could be used to help them if a similar situation arose on their side of the border. He didn't particularly know any of the Willowclan cats that well- Thistlestar had cut the last gathering short by storming out early- but he knew they were decent enough cats, and he wouldn't want any of them to be hurt by not knowing that there was a badger on the loose. He thought for a moment about Thistlestar, wondering if she would even bring it up from the Burnt Sycamore, or if she'd keep that information to herself. Surely she would share the possibility of danger with the other clan! Hearing Stoatpaw speak, Patchpaw followed her gaze to the medicine den. He wouldn't mind checking on Mintpaw as well, but wanted to give the siblings their time alone. "You should go. I don't think Hollyfeather or Cedarstorm would mind if you cut in line to go see him." Patchpaw mewed. He hobbled over to where the line of cats waiting for treatment were, and blinked sympathetically once more at Stoatpaw. In all the excitement of battle, he had forgotten momentarily about poor Mintpaw, and Shadecreek too. Now the reality crashed down on him. He had tried peeping in to catch a glimpse of the two cats, but was unsuccessful. "I'll be here if you need anything until the medicine cats check me out, then I'll probably go find Pebblepaw." Patchpaw informed, wanting Stoatpaw to know where he was at so she could have a friend if needed. He wasn't sure what it would be like to see an injured littermate, but he could imagine it would be horrifying.
(I know I'm writing him, but I love my lil baby Patchpaw so much and his forced friendship on everyone. I feel like he'd even try to be friends with Thistlestar!) |
