Worked a bit on my characters today. Mostly done with Marceau, Calais, Fáelán, Fiore, Zinara, Kirat, Ronera and Orion but some of them still need likes, dislikes, hobbies and talents. Still need to work a lot on Maylis, Astor, Bijou and Maéva, especially the former three

I might get some more stuff done tomorrow. Probably. I have that annoying phase again where I can think up all this stuff (and also replies to our other rps) while I'm busy at work but once I'm home I can't write shit, as much as I'd want to. But since I made a bit of progress today I might actually work on my weirdos again tomorrow and edit my post again. I wonder how everyone will get along, especially our crazy Fell Followers. Hopefully Nekosh and Dalvani are somewhat normal (unlike Levia and Fiore), we can't have Maéva be the only babysitter of that group xD

Yup, seems like it! Dysfunctional squads on both sides even before our good guys join Ralston or our Fell Followers do anything evil so who knows how much worse they'll get on their fun little adventures As for Sommie, I wonder how many of our idiots are in on it. Orion probably hides with Kerah because it's funny and he likes Sommie, Ronera would definitely play along, Maylis and Kirat aren't in on it because they'd accidentally reveal where the doggo is and who knows what everyone else does xD Edit: Really like what I'm seeing so far. A fun crowd indeed. Yanser and Calais can bond over their inability to properly wield a weapon and how they both got rewarded instead of punished for breaking into the castle (and in Yanser's case even killing someone), Ralston should never team up with Kirat because they're both naive and who knows who else should avoid each other xD

And once things get started for real everyone who sees Ralston and his gang will fear for Elyos' future because just look at all those weirdos! But then again no one will take the Fell Followers seriously either so it balances out
Poor Ralston, so many people who are more or less playing along and those who would tell him aren't in on it. He's not gonna let Sommie out of his sight after this

Thankfully that's the one thing Kirat can spot easily, he knows a scam when he sees one. But he would just assume that Yutaka doesn't know any better and even tells the kitsune how and why this isn't a good offer. So while he won't fall for it and will also warn Ralston he doesn't think Yutaka was doing it intentionally. Outside of scams though? Kirat is ****ing hopeless and unless he's dealing with someone who's visibly a bandit or Elusian he'd totally walk into an obvious trap. Heck, he'd get inside a stranger's carriage without a second thought because he assumes the stranger doesn't know just how creepy they sound. Bad intentions? What are those?

Yup xD And even over there the saner ones don't have it easy. Anyone who appears as an emblem here will feel right at home among our new idiots. Vincent will once again think he's the only sane one, Lara will gladly join the others in being weird and Tahvo is a little bit of both. I'm sure everyone else is grateful they don't have to deal with any of this. Néo may be more accepting of humans by the end of the other rp but he'd still be horrified at how some of the laguz behave, especially Zinara. Agnar would once again have to babysit some idiots and depending on how bad they are he'd even think that putting up with Luca was nothing by comparison. Yup, plenty of characters who are grateful to not show up here as emblems xD
But yea, I almost feel bad to the more normal ones here, our weirdos won't be easy to deal with. And of course it's not all fun and games, we'll make plenty of our lovely characters suffer, whether they are crazy or sane!
The others convince him to leave lots of food in Sommie's grotto so the doggy stays there while the squad fights and Ralston won't have to look for him all over the Somniel once they get back
True, it'd be very hard to believe xD Brodia's royal will have to vouch for them, confirming that yes, this weird dancer is one of their retainers and this incompetent assassin really is working for their family because "father's just weird like that"
Oh no xD Kirat probably wouldn't buy it but he too would think that Yutaka has his reasons for being a scammer. So he probably won't judge Ralston for buying the stuff. Everyone else though? Those who respect him too much will be polite about it and the less respectful ones might call him an idiot. Calais will do neither though because they, too, would fall for any scam. They can avoid danger and sketchy situations but scams are something they just are an easy target for. Oh well, at least Ralston isn't the only one who'd waste money xD

So the emblems are not gonna make things easier, even if Searc and Vincent try their best. Good, we can't make life simpler for our characters xD Sommie is probably delighted at getting so much attention but also misses walking and kinda wishes Ralston wouldn't carry him around all the time. Maybe some of the others will point out that Sommie would follow him around the whole Somniel anyway so no point carrying him so much. Besides, others want to play with the doggo too! Especially Orion and Fáelán Either that or they'd outright question the king's sanity and worry about Brodia's future because wow, what's wrong with this guy? Yup, but most won't accept that either xD Then they could argue that it's still a good thing to do because "the more he scams us the less he can scam others, we buy all that stuff after all and there'll be much less left of it" "I don't think that's how any of this works but go of I guess" Gonna try to come up with personal skills for everyone next. It will probably take forever but that's just how it is xD Haven't even started yet, instead I listed all of my characters' birthdays even though we won't need them. Oh, and since we have laguz and therefor have the anti-laguz weapons, maybe we could also have a staff that forces a laguz to change back to their human form and prevents them from using their beastform right afterwards? Only for a few turns of course, maybe one or two, and from not too far away. And there also won't be many staff users who know this spell. Speaking of magic though, do we keep the many staves and tomes from the game (plus our own) or do we just let our magic users have one tome/staff each for all the spells they learn over time? Someone who uses both types of magic would need a tome and a staff while those who only use black magic get one tome and those who only use white magic get one staff

Yup, still plenty of time so no need to rush or feel bad ^^ I just had enough drive to work a bit on stuff here, so that's why I managed to start working on all this Yea, those three are my favorites too xD Still not even close to being done but here's what I have so far for personal skills. None of them are final, even when only one is listed for a character since I might get more and better ideas. The only one I'm pretty sure of is Maylis', I kinda want her to have the talent/aptitude skills Donnel, Mozu and Jean have in the games since I mentioned her being talented a lot in her character form Marceau
- strength and speed boost when fighting adjacent to a royal or retainer from another country
- strength and speed boost when a royal from another country defeats an enemy (must stand within two spaces)
- grants allies (who are also listed under Firene) within two spaces a strength and speed boost whenever a royal from the other countries defeats an enemy
Maylis
- grants unit enhanced stat growth when leveling up.
Astor
- higher attack and crit when there are no allies within two spaces
- ignores an enemy's avoid bonus they get from the terrain when initiating combat
Calais
- unaffected by terrain (doesn't get slowed down but also doesn't get higher avoid), takes less damage from hazards
- ignores an opponents raised or lowered stats
Fáelán
- deals and takes more damage when opponent is from Elusia
- doubles avoid bonus granted by terrain
- a howl that grants Atk+5 for all allies within a three tile radius for five turns, attack bonus gets lowered by one point each turn (+5 on the turn its used, +4 on the next turn, +3 on the one after that...)

Yea, sounds familiar xD Though right now this isn't exactly what I'm dealing with, currently it's more like "Look brain, we really should write some replies for Ivyclan and Willowclan. And don't forget the rogues" "But look at all those characters you won't need until waaaay later! They're just begging to be worked on!" "No, we have plenty of time for that. But speaking of FE, I also need to finish my replies for our Houses rp. And before anyone gets the wrong idea, the second option for Kirat does not mean that he's a jerk to laguz and animals, it's because he's good at imitating various animal cries so he might confuse his opponent if they're a laguz or mount I also started to list some Emblem skills. Aside from their crests, relics and personal skills I also gave each of them one stat they can raise

And yes, I decided to pick that name for his personal skill after all. I know I said it was meant to be a placeholder and that there's no way I can use that name but it kinda grew on me

Good luck then ^^ As for me, still hoping to get up a reply or two in our rps this week. So let's see if either of us gets stuff done xD The emblem skills were easy so far since I only had to look up those guys' personal skills, crests and relics and give each of them a stat to boost. But the rest will be more difficult. Oh well, plenty of time for me to think of some more stuff that fits those three idiots xD
As for my other characters, I think those who have only one option listed will actually get that as their personal skill. Unless I suddenly come up with something that I like better. But yeah, looks like for now those are what Maylis, Maéva, Fiore, Ronera and Bijou will have as their personal skills. I already explained why I want that aptitude skill for Maylis, Maéva's is pretty simple too because of her hatred towards her family (as for anyone else from Firene, she just dislikes them by association), Fiore gets their skill because they always want to outshine their fellow Fell Followers, Ronera gets hers because it's pretty much one of her talents and Bijou gets his skill because his beastform is just so stunning that it's blinding his opponents with its sheer beauty xD As for those who have multiple skills listed, I'll still need to choose which one they actually get. But like with the others, each skill was picked for a reason. That's the fun with personal skills I guess

Good luck to us both '^' I do know for the rogues I'm throwing treck over to our duo to save Gale from Zimbi, cause I came up with a funny idea(at least to me but in my defense I was half asleep), of her tricking Zimbi into watching a rock cause "its one of those earth element clan cats that has the ability to turn into a rock, watch it for us and make sure it doesn't move, we want to have a little girl talk" and Zimbi just 100% believing this and just sits and is just staring at a rock
That's a smart way of doing it!!
All look like they would be great to see happen for the ones with multiple skills, might also just seeing the types of things you are doing give me some ideas, in terms of just getting into that mindset of crafting skills

Oooh, that sounds fun! Gale would definitely play along and confirm that yes, this is an earth elemental disguised as a rock so be a good little fleabag and keep an eye on it It definitely works to get things started a little and having some skills listed already is kind of helpful, at the very least it's a bit motivating to see a not completely empty list xD Yea, picking one for everyone won't be easy. I kinda like most of those skills and all of them would work for those guys. As for how I come up with personal skills, I look over my character forms and try to figure something out from that.
Marceau wants to show that Firene isn't weaker than the other realms so all of his potential skills are about boosting his or his allies' stats when the royals from the other countries are doing well in combat. Astor's skills are because she's experienced in hunting people down and because as a hawk she's got superior eyesight. Calais is getting lost all the time and should be used to walking and dancing over all kinds of terrain. As for their other possible skill, they're a weirdo and probably so absent-minded that they just don't acknowledge that their opponent's stats are raised/lowered Fáelán wants to prove his loyalty so he'll be extra violent (and reckless) when fighting against Elusians. He's also good at finding routes and traveling and he wandered off a lot so I think he has some extra experience with other terrain and staying out of trouble. As for his third option, he loves to howl and is incredibly good at it, even knowing how to use it to get certain reactions out of others Zinara's first to skills probably don't require any explanation. As for their third possible skill, some opponents will be immune to it but most just can't bring themselves to really hurt something so cute xD It doesn't stop those guys from attacking but it does make them hesitate a little Kirat's first skill is another way to show just how quickly their interests can change. His second one I already explained and his third one is because he's not good with small spaces Orion is insecure about having weak magic despite being a white dragon. So he'll get an attack boost when he's around magic and staff users or other white dragons, he wants to show that he doesn't need to be good at magic to be strong and useful. As for his second skill, it's because he likes to help others and can be very pushy about it, not taking no for an answer |

First of all: Happy Birthday, Ember! Hope you got to enjoy the weekend and got some nice stuff!
And on a different note, No real progress on filling out those questions with my OCs but here's a small sneak peek of some of them This is what I have for Marceau so far
Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
Yes, his older sister Maéva. He's never met her and only knows what his parents and the others in the castle have told him about her. Despite never haven gotten to get to know her he does think about her a lot, often trying to imagine what his life would be like now if he had grown up with his sister. Whenever he's alone with his thoughts he wonders how Maéva would have acted in certain situations or what kind of advice or criticism she'd have for him. Over the years he got a pretty solid idea of what his sister could have been like. He knows that he can't know any of that for sure but it's how he likes to think of her. His guesses turn out to be pretty accurate for the most part, Maéva is mostly like he imagined but only to the Fell Followers.
Once Marceau finds out about her he'll try his best to not let that stop him from viewing her as an enemy, telling himself that he has no real connection to her, but he'll still feel conflicted over fighting her. He's also jealous of the bond she has with Fiore, feeling like they're replacing him as her little sibling but he'll quickly dismiss such thoughts, believing it's ridiculous to feel jealous over a sister he doesn't even know.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?
Pretty good, even if he doesn't always agree with her. He respects her decisions and while he doesn't like how she's still looking out for him so much he tries to be patient and understands why she does that. When he disagrees with her on something he knows he can bring it up and sometimes he even enjoys discussing stuff with her as their views turn out to be pretty similar but still different enough to give him a new perspective.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
Also pretty good but he's more likely to argue with him. He has a hard time respecting his father's views sometimes and isn't afraid to state his opinion. He does relent most of the time though, knowing there's still much to learn from his parents. While Marceau thinks his father is mostly wrong about how he thinks about Firene staying out of any conflicts he still tries to understand where he's coming from. Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?

Also no, at least currently. Once he meets Jarún for the first time the sheer hatred and, confusingly, deep hurt and betrayal he sensed from her will change that. He'll feel watched in his nightmares from then on and while he never sees her in them he knows it's her because he feels the same hatred he had also sensed from Jarún in that gaze. While those dreams don't terrify him he finds them unnerving and he'll always be extra watchful whenever he had them.

Nope, but if he had one he would probably use it. And here's also some for Calais Does your character have siblings or family members in their age group? Which one are they closest with?
Kind of, an adopted younger sister. Calais feels no real connection to her as they don't really know her but they don't dislike her either and hope that their parents are treating her well. Since she fulfils Jarek's expectations she actually has a good life there. Calais is happy for her and doesn't even resent her for how much better their parents are treating her, having never felt close to those two in the first place.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?
They barely acknowledge each other's existence and only ever interacted if they really had to. Giada doesn't even accept Calais as her child despite giving birth to them, insisting that they're just some strange creature that stole and replaced her real child shortly after birth because there's just no way that someone who's this much of a failure and a weirdo could be related to her and her husband. Calais is pretty much aware of what their mother believes and just accepts that she thinks of them as a stranger and imposter, they don't see her as an actual mother either, just a person who gave birth to them but otherwise plays no part in their life.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
They despise one another though Calais doesn't really express it much and only seems indifferent for the most part. Those who know them well though can tell they hate him. Jarek always saw Calais as a huge disappointment and disgrace and made no secret of it. He only speaks badly of them and refused to give them a proper education. Calais never showed it but they understood pretty well what their father was hoping for whenever he sent them out on an errand and felt neither sad nor surprised when they figured it out. They always had a feeling that their father never accepted them so him trying to get rid of them was only logical to them. Calais doesn't miss him at all and is glad to have gotten away from that life and secretly hopes that Jarek feels angry or slightly humiliated once he finds out that they're the retainer of the king's heir now. And some more incorrect quotes
Astor: I’m just saying, when I die in mysterious and unexplained circumstances I want you all to make sure that everybody knows it. Instead of saying how I was “a friend to everyone” and that I “lit up a room” when I entered it, I want people to shake their heads while muttering that I “asked too many questions for my own good” and talk about how they “warned me that I was getting in way over my head” and that I “always had a knack for finding trouble” wherever I went. If you don’t make me a local urban legend you’ve failed me.
