If Cloudburr got offended every time someone laughed at his antics, then he'd be a pretty salty kitty. He just didn't really see the point in wasting all of that energy on something so small, and he knew that his exclamations could be silly. Seeing Lilysong stifle her laugh at least made him smile, thinking it was sweet of the small brown molly's attempt to spare his feelings. A clear look of amusement showed on his face as she delved into her own story. "What! You being clumsy? I couldn't even imagine it, Lilysong." There was a slight tease in his voice and he gently nudged her. "I think it's more impressive that you almost hit the top of the burrow. With your short little legs? I thought it would be impossible." Cloudburr had such a cheesy grin, a purr rumbling deep in his throat. His head lowered slightly, expecting to get cuffed for poking fun at her like that.
When Lilysong headed towards the camp exit, Cloudburr was quick to follow. He had to slow his pace as he fell in beside her, trying to match her speed. His eyes widened as she brought up his sleep-talking, something he tended to do in deep sleep or just as he was about to wake. His cheeks grew hot and he let out a breathy chuckle. Of course she had to of heard him, all of the elders, warriors, and apprentices had to with the way they all slept out in the open camp. "Perhaps it was both? Have you been dreaming of my mother lately?" He looked at her with a gentle smile, enjoying their banter. "I wouldn't mind going to the cabin. I'd prefer a slow morning anyways."

Darkfire >> Prickletooth & Orangesky >> 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇 & 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 >> Darkfire narrowed his eyes in the direction of Frogblaze. What good does it do the clan to have a deputy with such little experience, honestly a kit would probably lead the clan better than she could. The large tom cat sighed deeply, his leader seemed to have his head so far up into the stars that he couldn't even see what the clan really needed. Was it suddenly up to the cats themselves to go on patrols? She was so incapable of even getting handle on her own moods by the looks of it, how in Starclans world would she lead a whole clan if it were come to that. Also, what authority did this younger cat have over him? Darkfire huffed in disappointment. His blood started to boil with anger, his tail lashing back and forth in the sand. "What good does it do to sit here and loath. May as well snag some food, at least thats something thats being done right." Darkfire thought to himself. If there was anything he could count on, it was fresh kill being added daily. Deciding to grab a large piece for himself, he stood up on his paws a little too suddenly, sweeping his tail right under the paws of Prickletooth who he had failed to notice was making his way right beside him. Darkfire let out a loud hiss, his ears flat against his head. "Watch where your putting those mouse-grippers would you?" he spat, snapping his tail back to his side. "Good grief." He muttered.
((𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 , you are more than welcome to throw Orange in there where ever you see fit))
Speckheart >> Open >> >> Speckheart had taken it upon herself to leave camp this morning, although Frogblaze was struggling a little and the clans leader was out of camp, there wasn't a reason she shouldn't go out and enjoy the sun on her own, after all, her thin pelt provided little comfort as far as warmth goes. She couldn't spot any of her companions in camp, so she went out to explore on her own. Making her way out of camp, her little fast legs brought her to her favorite little pool of water in a thicket of trees where she could watch the sun beams dance around in the reflection. Every once in a while a little animal would come and drink while she laid there, if she wasn't on a hunting patrol, why would she try to kill it? Today though, things were really quiet and still. Maybe rain was coming? She dabbed her paw in the water, watching the ripples spread from the contact. Her mind danced with her day dreams as she frolicked through the fields of warm imagination. ((Speck is a day-dreamer, kind of like Alice in Twilight LOL)) Cherryfrost >> Open >> >> Cherryfrost purred in approval as Shypaw gathered the apprentices to go out of camp together. It was so nice of her to include everyone, though the thought of Cowtail taking them all at once by himself made her a little uneasy. Where was Juniperpaw? She glanced around camp, looking for the her not so little kits who were now apprentices. Her paws itched to get up and do something, but she wasnt quite sure what yet. Everyone seemed to be busying themselves with other things. She sighed and licked her paw, drawing it over her ears. ((𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇 you can throw who ever you have, where ever you see fit!!))

(Quick question: It's been a while since I have been on the forums and it seems like everyone changed to using the term "molly" as opposed to "she-cat". I always thought a molly was a fixed female cat. Is the term switch to be more inclusive? I have no problem using it instead of the old term, I was just curious if there was a reason for the change? I don't want to keep using the term if people find it offensive.) Lilysong
Lilysong rolled her eyes playfully at Cloudburr's teasing, and batted him softly with her tail. "These 'little legs' can pack quite the punch, thank you very much." To prove her point, she rocked back onto her hind feat and swatted at his shoulder with her two front paws, before lowering herself down to all fours and falling back in stride with him. Well, as best as she could with her admittedly short legs. She could tell the taller tom was walking slower than his normal gait, and she appreciated the attempt to maintain a comfortable pace. Smiling at his retort, she shrugged, "Your mother was an incredible cat. I do dream about being half the warrior she was." Lilysong wasn't joking this time, it was true. She looked up to many cats in the clan, and Cloudburr's mother was no exception.
Following the well-worn path towards the cabin after hearing his input, the brown she-cat began scanning their surroundings more seriously for potential prey. She paused for a moment with her mouth slightly open, sniffing the air for prey-scent, and could detect the slight smell of a hare to their left. Glancing at her hunting partner with an excited grin, she nods towards the scent. "Let's go this way."

Sleep didn't always come easy for Orangesky, and she'd come to realize that getting a full night's rest was too much ask for. So, she found herself awake before the sun was even touching the sky and decided to go for a walk to keep her restless mind at ease. A few things crossed her mind as she headed towards the ranch, but the main thing was AridClan's new deputy. Keeping up with clan politics was more Prickletooth's thing than hers, he made his opinion about Frogblaze abundantly clear, which Orangesky didn't completely disagree with. Frogblaze was pretty incompetent as a deputy, but she'd managed to be appointed so young and without even mentoring an apprentice first. It was absolutely humorous and she had to give the young warrior her dues for somehow getting away with it just because she was the leader's, best friends' daughter.
Orangesky was perched on the top of a fence as she watched the cows and horses begin to wander out of the barn, watching the creatures with piqued curiosity. These beasts were strange and had silly antics, but she was only interested in observing them from afar. How embarrassing would it be if she were to die by getting crushed under their large, clumsy hooves.
When the sun finally began to rise, the orange tabby hopped down and began her trek back to camp. By the time she got back she figured Prickletooth would be awake and eager for her presence. The way back to camp always felt faster than leaving it and she managed to arrive just at the peak of morning activity. A smile pulled at her lips when Orangesky noticed her friend staring at the prey pile, and she would start to trot over when Darkfire's sudden presence nearly blocked her view of Prickletooth.
She could hear the growl in his voice and it made her tail lash. "Maybe if you weren't so lizard-brained and used your eyes for once, Darkfire, you would have noticed that Prickletooth was here long before you decided to come stomping in." Orangesky said from behind both toms, and gave a roll of her eyes. She knew that Prickletooth was fully capable of defending himself, but she couldn't stop herself from stepping in to the situation. There was the blow he was looking for, but the impact of her tail was much softer than he expected. It almost tickled his whiskers. What he wasn't expecting was Lilysong to show of her prowess, and the swat of her paws didn't hold more than a sting on his broad shoulders. Now it was Cloudburr's turn to stifle his laughter as she seemed to struggle a little to keep up with him. He kept a watchful eye on their pace, not wanting his clanmate to fall behind.
Now the tips of his ears grew warm as Lilysong gave her sentiments about his mother, a cat who he dearly missed. "Poppybloom sure was something else. I'm sure she would've appreciated hearing you say that, so thank you on her behalf."
The whole time Cloudburr was happy to trot alongside Lilysong, nearly forgetting that they were supposed to be hunting. It was a lovely morning, not too warm due to the wet season. He hoped it would rain soon. Hearing his companion's voice made his ear twitch, looking her way and feeling a bit foolish for not even thinking about scenting for prey. The white tom lifted his chin in the air and caught onto the hare's scent as well. With a nod he would dutifully follow behind Lilysong, trying to keep his pawsteps light and quiet. ( Sand , it was starting to sound like things were heading down the deceased mom route, so i just made up a name for her? if you're opposed to it, obviously i can change things around. ( 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇 - thats a great question and one im not really sure about?? i think its a trend i noticed a while back and just followed it without asking questions myself)

Falconwing
Falconwing had been sitting against one of the walls of the burrow, the tip of his tail flicking back and forth as he watched the morning's events unfold. Twigstar's choice of Frogblaze as her new deputy was an unpopular one to say the least, but what was done was done. In his opinion, the clan should be focusing on helping the young warrior adjust to her newfound leadership position, instead of lingering in their anger over the decision.
Spotting Cherryfrost, his sister, sitting by herself, he stood and walked over to her, giving her an affectionate lick before sitting down beside her. "Good morning," he mewed, his green eyes following her gaze to where her children were gathered with some of the other apprentices. "It's crazy how fast they grow up, isn't it?" he mused, his chest swelling with pride as he caught sight of one of his own litter in the group. "Before we know it, they are going to be warriors like you and me."

(𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 , If his mom is still alive, I can edit my post! I just saw it was a ? for his mom and figured it was easier to do that route. And that makes sense. Do the more recent warrior books use that terminology I wonder? I am only rereading them now and started at the beginning when they use tom and she-cat, so that was where I was pulling my terms, but perhaps later books change to molly.)
Lilysong
As the abandoned cabin came closer into view, Lilysong could smell the hare like she had it in her mouth. She slowed her steps into a prowl so as not to make any noise that would alert their prey, then spotted the slightest movement to her left. Behind a bit of underbrush, a slender hare was nibbling food of his own, completely unaware of the two warriors that were stalking him. With a nod at Cloudburr, she went around the back of the bush so she was downwind from the animal, before leaping into action, biting deep into the hare's throat before it even knew she was there.
She proudly dragged her catch back to where the white tom was standing, and then dropped it at his feet. "It's a bit on the skinny side, but it's better than nothing," she mewed. Because of her size, Lilysong couldn't always go after larger prey, but she had speed on her side, as well as a quick mind. "I'm going to leave it in the shade near the cabin so that it doesn't get too warm while we keep hunting," the she-cat said, before trotting over to the dilapidated building. The hare was dragging on the ground, despite her best efforts to keep it up, and by the time she got there it was a bit dusty. Dropping her prey in the shadows of the cabin, she turned back towards Cloudburr and smiled. "Let's see what else we can find!"

Cherryfrost >> Falconwing >> 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇
>> Cherryfrost let out a purr as the comforting and familiar scent of her brother blew over her. "Morning Falcon." She purred. She had never told her brother, but his presence was to overly calming to her, she silently wondered if he could ever detect it. She was sure he could, but it was never spoken of. They always had a silent understanding of each other, and even though Falconwing was more of a cautious cat and Cherryfrost could be an opinioned perfectionist, the two were a great balance. She hadn't been so lucky to find a mate that understood her yet, but time would bring someone by, and until then, at least her brother and her kits still loved her. She looked back at the apprentices. "I cannot wait to see the great things they will become. Sometimes I worry for them, do you ever silently catch your self wishing they would have chosen a different route than a warrior? I mean, I wonder if they will get hurt one day. Maybe they should have become medicine cats or i dont know, something other than a warrior..." Cherryfrost began to ramble, her thoughts taking her all over the place. With the threat of the Coyotes looming over them, every second out of camp settle little pebbles of worry in her belly. If she could have mentored them, she would have done so. "What if their mentors miss something in their training and they lose an eye or something." The worry was thick in her voice now as she imagined Juniperpaw coming back all bloody and eyeless. She would love each of them regardless, but the guilt she would feel from that would be immeasurable. She took a deep breath and looked up at her brother, searching his eyes for something to ease her thoughts.

Falconwing
Since they were kits, Falconwing and his sister had been the yin and the yang to one another. Despite her sometimes judgemental and stern persona, he valued her honesty and always sought out her opinions on important matters. And in turn, he helped comfort her in times of stress or worry.
"Well, I suppose I did get lucky in that Marigoldpaw chose the medicine cat path. But I know Goosepaw will do great things as a warrior. I suppose they could get hurt on any path they choose, and there's nothing you or I can do to stop that from happening. All we can do is trust that StarClan knows best, and that their mentors will train them to the best of their abilities," he told her, brows furrowed in sympathy at her visible distress. "And if the worst thing that happened to them was that they lost an eye, I'd celebrate the fact that they got a cool battle scar and a story to boot," he added, injecting a little humor into his voice to try and ease his sister's mind.

>>Cherryfrost >> Falconwing >> 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇
>> "Goosepaw is such a strong little fellow. I have no doubt that he will grow up and pass you." She teased, flicking her tail over the tip of her brothers ear. Cherry let out a little giggle at her brother saying the scars should be celebrated. Looking down at her chest, there was still a ever so slight scar on her lower leg from when the two of them went exploring as kits and she found herself stuck in a thorn bush. "Do you remember how we used to celebrate this little thing?" She mewed, lifting her leg. "We thought we were the mightiest kits ever going out of the camp and chasing those grasshoppers." She laughed, her mind now forgetting the worry that danced mere moments ago. "Im just glad our kits didnt try anything that silly. Thats the day we found out a pack of Coyotes were making a home near by the camp. That feels like a life time ago." She recalled the little trip her and Falcon did, how they were both scolded by their parents and the leader, because a pack had just moved in closer to the camp, and any kits outside were bound to be dinner. She smilled mischievously. "Do you remember that old tree trunk by the creek we would sharpen our claws by?" She asked. "Do you wanna go see if its still there?" She really just wanted to get out of camp. The drama with Frogblaze drained her, and hearing cats complain every day was getting old.

D U N E W H I S K E R "Of course, Twigstar." Dunewhisker again dipped his head and waved his tail in return. "I'll be back out there on patrol before you know it." He turned and followed his brother back into camp. As soon as they were well out of the leader's line of sight, his eyes narrowed and his brows drew together in a scowl, unable to suppress his irritation at Sandyhawk's smirk. He hoped Twigstar hadn't noticed.
The scowl deepened when they entered the medicine cat's den and Sandyhawk gestured to a vacant nest a few paces away. "My legs are working just fine." Though, if he was honest with himself, he wouldn't mind curling into the soft moss and going back to sleep if his head weren't pounding and his neck not so stiff. He slowly tilted his head from side to side, attempting to loosen some of the tension at the base of his skull. "It's nothing I haven't dealt with before." His words were a sigh that ruffled Sandyhawk's fur as the medicine cat leaned in to check his heart rate and nonexistent fever. Dunewhisker resisted the urge to bat his tail away from his forehead. "I only came to you because it's starting to interfere with my work."
Every one of his senses felt dull, muted, but he was still dimly aware of another pair of eyes on him, bright and hopeful. Dunewhisker shot Marigoldpaw a withering look over Sandyhawk's shoulder. When he'd woken this morning, being a case study for an overeager apprentice had not been in his plans for the day. He closed his eyes and braced himself to be peppered with questions.
Y U C C A T A I L Briefly disoriented, Yuccatail looked around for the source of the voice before realizing that it was coming from above. "Oh." They craned their neck back to peer up at Birdshadow and nearly scraped their head on the rough wooden post again. "No, nobody sent me. I came out here to hunt and I, uh... I got distracted." The silver tabby cat flicked their tail toward the massive black-and-white animals lumbering across the pasture. Idly, a few of them twitched their ears, swatting at flies buzzing around their broad faces as they plodded along with no purpose or destination that Yuccatail could discern. What bizzare creatures! Yuccatail blinked. They'd been staring off into space again, hadn't they? The tabby shook their head and squinted back at Birdshadow, refocusing on the dark grey molly. "Why? Should I be checking on you?"
P A L E S A N D Delight mixed with irritation rippled through Palesand at Tawnyface's retort, as it often did whenever they exchanged insults. Some days she enjoyed it, this back-and-forth thing they had, and some days it - he - annoyed her more than others. As for what today would be? Well, it was still early. Rather than dignify his comment with a verbal response, she wrinkled her nose and stuck her tongue out at him, then addressed Dawnfire. "Of course I'm in!" She nudged her sister's shoulder with her own. "I'm offended you wouldn't think so!"
In spite of herself, Palesand barked a laugh at Tawnyface's snide comment about Frogblaze, drawing sour looks from a couple of nearby warriors. "I bet she spent too many hours out in the desert one afternoon and baked all her brains out." Apparently, her outburst of laughter drew the attention of her friend as well, for not a heartbeat later, a warm black-and-white body was pressing into her side. Palesand's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Asterthorn! Now it's a party!" She beckoned Asterthorn into their little huddle and laid her tail across the molly's shoulders. Ducking her head and lowering her voice once more, she hissed, "I say we go to the ranch. Last time I was on patrol near there, I saw a twoleg sitting one of those tall brown things - horses, right? - like it was riding it. Actually riding it. Can you believe that?"
J U N I P E R P A W "I was looking for Birdshadow," Juniperpaw answered honestly. Apprentices weren't supposed to leave camp without their mentors. Speaking of which, where were the other warriors? Were they just going to leave without them? The brown-and-white tabby shot Cowtail a dubious look. Could one warrior handle five -- well, four -- energetic apprentices on his own? Juniperpaw shifted from paw to paw, taking in the eager faces around him. "Um, what about Sagevale? And Asterthorn? And Speckledhare?" He eyed each apprentice as he named their mentors. Did nobody have a problem with this? There were coyotes prowling the territory, for StarClan's sake! "Shouldn't we--" wait for them, he was going to say, but Cowtail had already slipped outside, the other cats bounding after him. "A-actually, you know what, I think I forgot to use the dirtplace. I'll be right back, but don't wait for me!" He backed away before Acaciapaw could drag him along, hustling in the general direction of the dirtplace.
"Oof!" In his hurry, Juniperpaw ran right into another cat, breath wooshing out of him in the collision. He reeled back, and in the moment he beheld who it was, things went from bad to worse. "Beepaw." His heart sank. Juniperpaw resisted the urge to glance over his shoulder. He'd gotten out of Cowtail's disaster-waiting-to-happen of a training session, hadn't he? That's what he'd wanted. No backing out now. At least he wasn't alone; he spied Hazelpaw not far away and called out to her, hoping that having his sister around might give him enough confidence to deal with Beepaw. "Hey, Hazelpaw! You're not going with the others?"

Falconwing chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, "I have no doubts he will surpass my skills with flying colors," he mewed, feeling his chest swell a bit with pride at his son's progress. He hadn't been an apprentice for long, but he always enjoyed hearing the details of his training from his mentor, Asterthorn.
Perceptive as ever, he grey tabby tom caught his sister's quick glance down at the scar she had gained from one of their many adventures as kits. "That was quite the day. I remember being jealous of you because you got your first 'real' warrior scar before me. We weren't even apprentices yet!" He recalled fondly, before wincing at the additional memory of what had followed later that day. They had almost gotten caught by the pack of coyotes, but luckily they had been able to escape into a burrow too small for the wild predators to follow. The two siblings had been trapped in there for a few hours, before the evening patrol had caught their scent and tracked them down. Though Falconwing didn't like getting in trouble, he had taken consolation in the fact that they had been able to warn the clan of a potential threat. "It does feel like ages, doesn't it?" So much had happened since then, but he wouldn't change a thing.
Smiling at the thought of returning to one of their old haunts, the tom rose to his feet and nodded towards the camp entrance. "Let's do it. Perhaps by the time we return things will have cooled down," he said hopefully, glancing back at the young new deputy before slipping out of camp.

Hazelpaw
Hazelpaw had been grooming herself in the apprentice's area when she spotted her brother bounding in her general direction. Curious as to what his hurry was, she paused what she was doing and watched him run. It was apparent that he was not watching where he was going. Glancing over at her friend, Beepaw, she realized that if he maintained his current course, they were due for an impending collision. But before she could get the words out of her mouth to warn either cat, the young tom ran headlong into her best friend. She probably should have said something sooner.
Giggling slightly at the awkward jumble of legs as the two apprentices regained their footing, the calico she-cat filed this moment away in her memory. This incident would inevitably come back when she felt like poking fun at either of the two cats. Glancing at her brother as she heard his question, she scoffed and licked her chest fur. "My mentor didn't tell me to go, so why would I? Besides, the Abandoned Cabin is nothing special. I'd much rather go check out the red caves, wouldn't you?" She asked, a mischievous gleam in her green eyes as she rose to her feet and subtly placed herself between Beepaw and Juniperpaw. Though the molly liked to tease her brother, she also knew that her friend could be a bit more ruthless when it came to interacting with her littermate, and she wanted to make him feel comfortable. Juniperpaw had clearly had enough of a rough morning as it was. "Maybe we could ask our mentors to do a joint training session today?"

Frogblaze »
Any second now Tumblefawn was going to walk away and leave Frogblaze alone, she just knew it. Why would she expect them to stay? No cat ever wanted to be around her it seemed, and when she did get the attention of a Clanmate it ended up in some sort of verbal squabble. What was she doing wrong? Why didn’t she have any friends? Russetnose had made it look so easy, her father loved by the entire Clan. He would have been able to help her now, just as he had when he had been alive. He had been the one to suggest to others that they should spend time with Frogblaze. He had been the one to place Frogblaze on patrols with other cats, cats that she could actually somewhat get along with. Russetnose had given her everything she had wanted. And now he was gone. Now she had to fill in the pieces that he had left. She had Dustflame, sure, but her other father had grown as cold as the night and as sharp as claws. He was distant. Their quick interaction earlier had been one of the few times they had even spoken to one another since Russetnose’s passing. After they had sat vigil for the former deputy the two had split ways and only saw one another in passing.
A shudder passed through the molly. Why did it have to be Russetnose to die? Why didn’t he have multiple lives just like Twigstar? It just wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair and Frogblaze didn’t like it, and if there was something she didn’t like then she was going to change it until she did like it.
’-don’t agree’. That was all she heard coming from Tumblefawn, their voice higher in pitch than usual. Frogblaze snapped her head upward, eyes still glaring as she locked them on Tumblefawn. ”Don’t agree with what?” Hissed the deputy. She didn’t like the sound of that; she had never liked the sound of a cat disagreeing with her.
As Tumblefawn continued to speak, Frogblaze stood there and listened. It was odd that Tumblefawn had come up to her and started a conversation, let alone act like they were trying to soothe her nerves. She was only two moons older than they were. The two had grown up in the nursery together, had trained as apprentices together, and were now warriors in their own right. Frogblaze knew more about Tumblefawn than she did Asterthorn, and she knew that the warrior had never done anything to intentionally hurt her, so why would they start now? It didn’t make sense for them to play her like Asterthorn had, but still the deputy remained on guard. She wasn’t about to let herself get hurt a second time.
For now the molly stayed silent, listening to Tumblefawn as they spoke to her. Her posture slowly lowered, shoulders releasing their tension, the fur along her spine falling back smoothly against her body. Tumblefawn made a fine point. It didn’t look like they were going anywhere. But Asterthorn had sat down beside her as well, not looking like she was going to get back up in a matter of seconds and leave. Yet Tumblefawn was also agreeing with Frogblaze’s emotions, reaffirming her stance on Asterthorn. The black and white molly had been out of line to do something like that to Frogblaze.
The spark was slowly coming back to the deputy. She stood a little taller, held her head higher with a smugness to it rather than furious defiance. The beginnings of a smirk could be seen tracing her muzzle. ”Yeah, yeah. Who needs Asterthorn anyway?” She snorted as she batted a paw across the ground, picking up a few specks of loose dirt. ”Did you want to patrol? I’ve got two out already, but a third never hurts.” While she didn’t say it it was clearly implied that this patrol would be her and Tumblefawn. There would be no room for any other cat, all Frogblaze needed was Tumblefawn.
Pigeonclaw »
A snort of laughter came from Pigeonclaw at her mate’s comment. Playfully she swatted him across the ears, gentle in her gesture as to not harm him in any way. ”Yeah, yeah,” she laughed in mock annoyance. Her eyes betrayed the joy that she actually felt. ”I was stubborn before Twigstar was ever my mentor.” Any cat who had known Pigeonclaw from the start would know that. Feistiness had always been apart of her nature. The amount of grief she had given her parents was too much to even count, and the grief she had given Twigstar was more than the leader was bound to count as well.
After a moment the queen reluctantly pulled away from Silversparrow. She slowly got to her paws, careful to keep her paws steady. While there was still just a little under a moon before the kits were expected to arrive, Pigeonclaw’s stomach was already rather swollen. As of recent her center of balance had changed and she had to make sure that she was standing correctly before even attempting to move. She didn’t want an accident like the other morning when she had tried leaving the nursery only to stumble and trip over her own paws. Never had she been so embarrassed in quite some time. Perhaps that was a sign that she needed to go see Sandyhawk in the next day or two. As proud as she was, she wasn’t going to risk her kits’ safety.
Once sure she was steady on her paws, Pigeonclaw began making her way out of the nursery. She glanced around camp, briefly spotting Asterthorn among what looked to be a patrol. A pang of longing washed over her, paws wanting to take her over to where her littermate was, but she stayed put. Pigeonclaw reminded herself that she’d be back on patrols once her kits were out of the nursery and until then she needed to focus on resting and preparing herself for motherhood. Perhaps, she thought for the second time, she could spend some time with her sister and father before most of the Clan retired for the night.
”Is there anything in particular you want?” Pigeonclaw shot a question toward Silversparrow as she sat down beside the fresh-kill pile. The options were slim as hunting patrols had only just been sent out, but a few kangaroo rats and a quail had been left for any cat's morning meal.

Dustflame »
Dustflame dipped his head in thanks. He was thankful to have gotten the shrew and lizard. They were smaller animals, but prey was prey and anything that could be caught was good enough.
Once again he nodded in response to Sagevale. ”He must still be hunting then. I doubt he’d wander off.” Dustflame hoped the younger tom wouldn’t, at least. Coyotestorm was a lot of things, but on the few patrols the two had been together Coyotestorm had never acted out so much that he had abandoned his patrol without saying anything. The lynx point was usually a decent patrolmate if one could look beyond his personality. ”Let’s go look for him,” Dustflame decided as he quickly dug a hole to keep his prey in. He’d come back to retrieve it later.
Before padding off to start the search, Sagevale commented on their own catches. Dustflame perked his ears and looked down at the grouse and squirrel. The faintest hints of a smile could be found across his muzzle. ”The Clan will be eating well tonight for sure,” he commented. There was a faint tinge of praise hidden underneath his words toward Sagevale. He wouldn’t outwardly congratulate the other warrior, but it was there deep down.
Cowtail »
A purr vibrated against Cowtail's throat at Goosepaw's enthusiasm. He smiled toward the young tom before looking away, mind flashing to the idea of Asterthorn joining them; with a group as large as this one, having a second warrior wouldn't be a bad idea, but as Cowtail scanned the camp, he found that Asterthorn was already mingling with another group of warriors. Border patrol by the look of it, and if he had heard correctly Frogblaze had recently called out to Tawnyface and Dawnfire to check up on the borders. It seemed to him that Goosepaw's mentor was busy with other tasks at the moment, and he was sure she wouldn't mind him borrowing the tom for a training lesson. It would do Goosepaw good to get a different perspective on training - it would do all the apprentices good. Perhaps some day soon Cowtail could ask one of the other mentors to take Shypaw along with them for a day to allow her the experience of getting a new perspective on things.
Goosepaw's next question was met with a shake of Cowtail's head. "Not today," he answered, looking over his shoulder briefly to eye the gray tabby tom and then over to Shypaw as she asked the same question. "I was thinking we'd stay closer to camp this time. That way if something happens we won't be far from Sandyhawk and Marigoldpaw." He didn't bring up the coyotes, but to any cat that was keen it was clear that the canines were implied. Even if the attack had been a moon ago at this point, the idea of the coyotes still roaming nearby put Cowtail on edge. The last thing he wanted to do was put the apprentices in danger.

Shypaw blinked and nodded, understanding what her mentor meant by staying close to camp. Their little training group was bigger than she knew he originally expected. Even with the nerves still bubbling in her stomach, nothing is going to happen, she thought stubbornly to herself, coyetes haven't been seen close to camp yet.
She was excited. Maybe Cowtail would have them do a mock battle. There was an even number of them so they could be on teams like Acaciapaw had suggested earlier.
A yelp escaped from Silversparrow as he felt the paw swipe his ears. He should have seen it coming... but he wasn't expecting Pigeonclaw to be able to move that easily still in her condition. Not that he would ever say that out-loud to his mate.
"No way," he laughed, his green eyes lighting up with amusement and he joked, "You and Asterthorn were visions of patience & calm." It was still easy to remember back to their kit-hood days. Silversparrow might have been two moons older than the Pigeonclaw and her sister, yet the tom was always been more passive than anything. Those two had gotten him in more trouble than he could ever get in on his own.
The silver tabby trailed after Pigeonclaw, keeping a cautious eye on his mate's balance before swiping his gaze around camp. A soft hmft escaping from him. Camp was emptier than he truly expected. He didn't know why he was surprised when his gaze landed on Frogblaze. She was probably the reason; a few warriors and apprentices still milled around but most seemed to be out in the territory, he expected to due a mix of patrols and escaping from Frogblaze's orders.
His attention jerked back to Pigeonclaw as she uttered him a question. He blinked stupidly at her, making it very obivious to his long-time friend that he wasn't listening. It took a moment to zone in on her questioning glance and the fresh-kill pile right next to her. "Anything you want, I am not picky" Silversparrow purred, hoping he was right with assumption.

S a g e v a l eIW Coyotestorm and Dustflame || Mentions Twigstar || Hawk Rock || Tag Feathertalon »»————- ★ ————-«« Sagevale dipped their head back in acknowledgement, pushing their own prey in the hole Dustflame had made. The warrior's thoughts weren't in a fuzzy disarray, but they were certainly worried. The hunting wasn't so bad around here that Coyotestorm would venture off so far. So what made him so late on his return? Sagevale didn't want to fear for the worst - and they wouldn't say it out loud, not when Dustflame already had enough pain from it. So they padded after the other warrior, only opening their mouth to breathe in scent.
They grew warm under their fur at Dustflame's comment on the hunting the two of them had done. Certainly, they'd caught more than they'd expected on a usual hunting patrol. It was important to keep the prey-pile stocked, especially in these times...
Sagevale gave a sneeze when a breeze kicked up dust. "No success in smelling on my part," they called to the tom. "Anything on your end?"
»»————- ★ ————-«« "Aw wait, what-" Acaciapaw's protest was cut off when Juniperpaw walked away from him. The tom flattened his ears - this was going so great. Well - maybe a little. He pricked up his ears when he heard that they weren't going too far. That was good, that would mean that he wouldn't be stuck in the medicine den sneezing his fur off this time.
"Are we going to learn defense?" he mewed loudly. "If we're not going to go too far then we should be learning about how to defend camp, right?" He looked around at the other apprentices for support. He wasn't wrong there! He nudged Bluepaw. "Come on, back me up!" he whispered.
D a w n f i r eIW Tawnyface, Palesand, Asterthorn || Mentions Frogblaze || Camp || Tag Blaze ♡ Tealraven 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 »»————- ★ ————-«« Dawnfire gave a purr of delight when her sister affirmed her plans - and had to burst in a fit of giggles at Tawnyface's comment and Palesand's other remark. "I guess she should've been named Frog-brain instead of Frogblaze," she whispered. Then in a louder voice: "Alright, so..." she trailed off, noticing Asterthorn run over from where she'd been talking with Frogblaze. Momentarily, the ginger-and-white tabby's pelt grew hot when the black-and-white molly greeted her with a grin. Dawnfire shook her head, trying to get back in focus. She had a plan today and it wasn't going to get derailed.
"Right - the ranch," she cut in over Palesand. "Maybe instead of that beetle race plan, we could race them?" she flicked her tail, looking from side to side. "Winner still gets fattest piece of prey on the pile, no matter what Frogblaze says."
B i r d s h a d o wIW Yuccatail || Mentions Juniperpaw, Orangesky, Prickletooth || Ranch || Tag Tealraven »»————- ★ ————-«« "Nope, not necessary," Birdshadow called down. Part of her wanted out of camp right now - even if Juniperpaw needed his training right now, she deserved a break from all the drama that was going in camp. As much as she enjoyed being with Orangesky and Prickletooth, in a way, she needed out this morning, with all the yowling cropping up between every cat and the deputy. But at the same time - Yuccatail didn't need to know that.
"I was just scouting out possible training places for Juniperpaw," she fibbed. "These posts make for great climbing." She glanced at the tabby. "I'm guessing you were out here watching these four-legs?" Birdshadow hopped down to settle neatly on her own four paws. "Don't blame you, they're magnificent, even if they're not really doing anything useful."
Beyond perhaps running exercise... She wasn't so stupid to let her own apprentice endanger his life to run with them, just a run around this area - it'd come in handy, all things considered.

Prickletooth — fresh kill pile — with Darkfire & Orangesky Prickletooth was focused on grabbing a nice mouse when Darkfire's tail swept underneath his paws suddenly. He let out a low growl as the two toms bumped into each other again, he knew it was Darkfire's fault from the beginning. Before he was able to defend himself, Orangesky had stepped in, to defend him. Surprised, the cream tabby glanced at his close friend with gratitude. Not bad at all, Orangesky, he thought with a slight smirk.
"My mouse-grippers? Take a look at yours that clearly entered my space," he mewed, glaring at the other tom. "Like Orangesky said, you're too lizard-brained to see where you're going, Darkfire. Had you not come along, I would be eating my mouse by now."
The warrior's day felt ruined, especially with Darkfire interrupting it by making him trip. Yet in some way, he was thankful for Orangesky's defensive attitude. He could have taken care of the mottled tom without a problem. Nonetheless, he preferred to handle his affairs on his own. He knew he could take care of Darkfire, let alone other cats on any given day. "Get out of here, Darkfire," he growled, before turning to Orangesky. His tone magically changed. "Want to share a piece of prey away from this lizard-brained tom?" [ tags: 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 & Brindlebriar ] | credit: flickr for the photo, cc0 licensed -
Beepaw — camp — with Juniperpaw & Hazelpaw Beepaw had begun her morning by spending time with her friend, Hazelpaw. She was growing tired of sitting in the apprentice's area and grooming her fur. Who cared if her fur looked like a mangy mess? She did not! Yawning, the black she-cat rose to her paws and muttered, "I'm bored. Can we do something? Instead of, like, grooming our fur all day long? It's boring. I'd rather clean the elder's den."
In fact, Beepaw would never clean the elder's den if she was able to avoid it. Once she was up on her paws, she felt her breath knock the wind out of her. "EEE!" the apprentice shrieked before mumbling insults.
It was Juniperpaw. Great, Hazelpaw's brother. Of course he's here, she thought, annoyed by his presence already. "Juniperpaw. Look who the coyotes dragged in," she meowed, glancing at him, then at his littermate. Would having her best friend, his sister, make things easy for Juniperpaw? She secretly hoped not as she enjoyed teasing him. In the meantime, she heard Hazelpaw mentioning the Red Caves and training with their mentors. The Red Caves were definitely the top choice, but if she wanted to stay out of trouble... joint training it would be then.
"The Red Caves are a better choice," Beepaw admitted, grinning at Hazelpaw. However, she let out a dramatic sigh instead, turning towards Juniperpaw. "But I suppose joint training is better for Juniperpaw. Don't you both agree?" [ tags: Tealraven & 𝐸𝓁𝑜𝓆𝓊𝑒𝓃𝓉𝒟𝓇𝑒𝒶𝓂𝑒𝓇 ] | credit: unsplash, cc0 licensed -
Tumblefawn — camp — with Frogblaze Tumblefawn was shocked at how well they were able to hold their ground. By now, they thought they would have sunk to the ground with their tail between their legs. That's how scary Frogblaze could be. Maybe there was more to this molly than what they knew. They knew losing Russetnose wasn't easy for her and Dustflame, considering how close the family seemed. It appeared Frogblaze relied on him a lot, moreso than Dustflame. Losing a family member was tragic and sudden, especially how Russetnose passed away. No one could have predicted the coyotes killing him.
The sound of the red tabby hissing left their eyes wide and trembling. They had forgot about their opinion on Frogblaze's emotions and feelings. "Um, what I mean is that I don't think you're okay emotionally," they mewed softly. They shuffled their paws, praying to StarClan that the deputy wouldn't blow up again. It was a touchy topic, after all.
Tumblefawn felt more comfortable during their rambling. It gave them a sense of comfort to share their thoughts even if it wasn't all kind. They didn't care much for Asterthorn's group anyways and they were sure if the group knew, well, the fawn tabby didn't want to be antagonized. Not like they did to Frogblaze. It was cruel and intimidating. They knew standing their own ground was difficult enough that a group of cats would send Tumblefawn scampering.
The spark in the deputy's visage and physique immediately changed their mind. She was beginning to smirk, to their surprise. A purr rumbled in the tabby's throat and soon a mrrow of amusement followed. No one needed Asterthorn if she was going to treat her clanmates cruelly. "That's right! No one needs her or the rest of 'em," they responded quietly, before raising their voice. "Sure, I don't mind. I have to get something done today, don't I? What do you have in mind?"
They were making progress, Tumblefawn could feel it in their paws. Their pale paws tingled with enthusiasm. It seemed possible to them that Frogblaze could be their friend, someone finally of their age group. Having a friend in Frogblaze would be terrific, in their opinion. Hopefully she would agree with the pale tabby. [ tags: Feathertalon ] | credit: unsplash, cc0 licensed
