Ari flinched at the other's touch and blinked a few times as if his brain weren't computing, his nose scrunching up at the scent After a few moments he said flatly, "Whoa, what gave it away?" He tightened his grip on his arm and looked away. "Don't mind it. It's actually a nice reminder of my own existence."

She blinked slowly, giving a small frown then. "Depends on if it was your own wound or from a mutant. You do realize that if a mutant got you, that theyd kick you out of Class A?" she asked lowly. "Plus your blood dripping all over the floor really doesn't hide the fact you got hurt," with that she tossed him a playful poke of the tongue at him. She studied him for a long moment, giving a small giggle. "You know what else is a reminder? That we're all together as a student body. To express emotions and other silly things," she mused then. "Even sleep."

Ari's eyes widened. "So that's how to get kicked out of Class A?" he said in fascination before wincing. He looked down at the ground, where blood was indeed dripping. "Well, would you look at that." He heaved a sigh. "And, well, you know, life is so inherently pointless that the days blur together, so something as painful as this is what it takes to convince me that this is reality."

Piper felt satisfied with the reaction from Class B, hoping that was the proper decision to make. At the very least it would give him some extra time to adjust to his unwanted position. Once everyone started to spread back out, he sucked in a breath and exhaled deeply, trying not to think too far ahead in the future. His eyes flickered over to Alessandra as she passed and he blinked at her statement and expression, taken by surprise. All he could manage was a dumb, quick nod before she'd ran off and Fiona took her place in front of him. This would be a far easier situation to handle. "What's up?" he asked, one eyebrow raised, though expression otherwise blank and unexpectant. He still wasn't used to seeing her approach him out of her own volition.
Stile made a face and swatted Lilah's hand away, a pout forming on his lips. Unlike before, he didn't feel any kind of good away about this attention- it felt so last-ditch-effort and low priority from her now. Sure, maybe he was being a little bit of a selfish, jealous idiot but it was a little bit painful to think about how she'd gotten so absorbed in Fiona, the Class A leader of all people, crush or not. He tilted his head away, bunching his arms up closer to his chest. "I'm fine, it's whatever."

"Well yeah. Its caus they're too dumb to realize theres a whole bunch of potential gearing up together and fighting along side each other," she snorted quietly before giving a light smile. Eyes turning, she looked at him for a moment and gave a laugh. "Well, I suppose that would do that. I mean, I cant argue with that. I suppose pain can be a bit of an awakening." A brow arched then, the Italian stuffing her hands into her pouch of a pocket and she rested her head back against the wall. "But it can also mean that you might have lost something in the process... More than physical pain."

Ari snorted. "That makes sense. Of course there needs to be some group feeling superior about themselves." He tilted his head, looking at her with surprised respect. "Huh," he said, pondering her words. "Maybe." He tried to think about it but his arm throbbed and wailed for attention. He held it tight against his side. "It's been a while since I actually had a proper conversation about something like this. Most people look at me funny. If I get lucky I'll get someone who asks if I need to see a doctor."

Fiona glanced around at Class B for a moment, then realized what she was doing and dragged her gaze back to Piper as he approached. Moving towards the wall and a little further away from the other students. She had no desire to be particularly secretive about it, but a little privacy was never a bad thing. Resting her hands in her pockets, she leaned against an old wooden crate as she looked down at Piper, "So on the way up, did you manage to find any more traces of Risher?" That had been their mission after all and while the trail Piper had mentioned was a significant start, it'd be nice to have something a little more substantial to bring back.
Jack split off from his sister and began to slowly wander through the crowd. It wasn't often that they had this opportunity and while Anna seemed to think it was a bad idea, Jack only had one goal. His best bro was out there somewhere and Jack had no intention of letting Piper lead forever, especially if it was at Anna's expense. And while she had her long game running, Jack was a fan of the easiest possible solution. And right now, that meant finding Risher. While Jack was no master of stealth, he managed to make his way to the door without drawing an inordinate amount of attention to himself and paused, glancing around to make sure no one inside had paid him any attention. After a cursory inspection of the room and convinced he was in the clear, Jack slowly slid out of the lighthouse and began to head down the path..

Cassie was chillin' in the nonexistent corner of this round room.
Lilah didn't like whatever...this was. Why was he being so moody? "Stile, sheesh, do I need to hug you again? I'm fine! And you might be a little, uhm, bloody, but you're also fine! Cheer up, would you?" Yes, Lilah was entirely selfish and self-absorbed because obviously Stile's humdrumness had to be a result of his worry for herself, right? "Hey, what do you think about watching Princess Bride when we get back to school. Nothing like the classics, and we haven't had a movie night in awhile."

Piper followed her, genuinely glad to be away from the crowd, even if Fiona's presence equated to twice the pressure. Her question relieved him a bit, as he'd been worried that no one else had bothered to remember that part of the mission. Wiping his hand off on his pants, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, crumpled piece of dark fabric. He pinched the top of it and shook it out to reveal a glove. "Just this. It's not bloody or anything, and the trail I'd caught earlier was strong but there weren't signs of injury. It's likely he's out there, but I have no idea what state he's in," he explained, frowning slightly at the tiny shred of evidence dangled in his fingers. It felt like nothing at all. "I'm not sure if it's helpful at all to a more thorough investigation, unfortunately."
Stile bit back a snappy response, forcing his bitterness down as deep as he could manage. He was probably just moody from all this chaos, and in truth he didn't want to take it out on Lilah. He still felt kind of weird and bad, but he managed a smile on his face and shrugged a bit. "You're not gonna invite anyone else this time, are you?" he asked a little teasingly, pushing the fluffy collar of his coat up around his neck. It struck him now that the thing was probably bloody and dirty, and that just fueled his grumpy mood. "And if you're going to recite the lines, make sure to do it correctly for once."
Wisteria didn't react outwardly to the news of their punishment, in fact she could hardly care less. Extra drills sucked, yes, but she was good at turning bad situations into good opportunities. She impatiently craned her neck in Piper's direction, trying to hear his words, see if he was doing a good job, but it was impossible over the group's chatter. What she did happen to notice was Jack, who looked awfully suspicious as he made his way towards the door, slipping out seemingly unnoticed. A devious smile split across her features, and she moved just as silently to the door to follow him. Now this would be good.
Risher was missing his favorite glove, and he was rather pissed off about it. He hadn't intended to drop any hints for the group except his scent, as he knew Piper's sniffer would pick it up easily, so this was a huge dent in his plans. He whined childishly, as if he'd lost a favorite toy, and proceeded to stomp around the forest looking for it, having forgotten all sense of stealth as he was almost certain the Bermuda kids were long gone to the lighthouse. Crawling through the brush, hanging from the trees, practically pressing his face into the dirt, he simply couldn't find one damn glove. In a fit of frustration, he punched a tree and then laid in the grass in front of it, folding his hands across his chest as he sucked in a breath, trying his best to look serene. "This sucks."

((Erm I was reading back and im not sure if both classes are in the same room but im guessing that they are forgive me if im wrong))
Riandylan frowned and shook himself, plastering a grin on his face. No point moping about it, he thought determinedly before looking around for Ari. He hadn't seen his friend since Ari jumped back into the fight, and the worry was an uncomfortable fist in his stomach. But he couldn't catch sight of Ari in the crowd. However, he couldn't help but notice a girl with dark blonde hair huddling alongside the wall of the round room. Brightening, he skipped over and waved hello.

Cassie had largely been focused on the ground, still gripping the gun tightly to her chest, even though the object made her uncomfortable. Although she would much rather shoot herself on accident than someone else. So when her staring was distracted by movement, she lifted her head, a sullen expression coloring her features. Were they waving to her? She couldn't be sure, though she doubted it. She was new after all. People were probably betting on her swift death. Considering the last time she had spoken up, someone had called her out on her natural awkwardness, she opted to remain silent until this person very directly approached her.
Lilah snorted, waving her hand. "The only person I might invite would be Fiona. But even though we shared some lovely, gut-spilling moments, I really don't think she would come to our movie night." Fiona was, unfortunately, still a Class A kid. "Hey, are you saying I'm not the literal light of dramatic monologue-ing? Because excuse you, I know that movie perfectly. It hurts my heart that you would even suggest that I would improv lines!"

Riandylan tilted his head. Was his wave not seen? He shuffled forward, smiling happily. "Hi," he said out loud as he signed with a gesture from his head. He inwardly cringed at the feeling of the word in his mouth, unsure of what it sounded like.

Fiona inspected the glove as carefully as she could without touching it. She wasn't sure if the school would want to do any sort of testing on it but she would rather not risk contaminating it. She gave her inspection a few seconds, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary, "Yup, that's a glove all right." Giving him a small grin, she stood back up and took a deep breath. At least it was something concrete to bring back. "And no blood? I guess that rules out anything that doesn't involve him willingly. comin.g. out here." It was certainly something to ponder, though she had every intention of leaving the pondering to the members of her class who were better at this mystery stuff. Fiona preferred to focus on what she knew and changed the .subject to .some .more. com.for.table subject matter, "So on the way back, we should move in a closer unit, instead of the single file line like we started in. Pick a scout to move ahead and search for any signs of danger. We were far too spread out during the ambush and if the smaller monsters hadn't retreated when they did..." She trailed off and gave a weak shrug. It could have been so much fatal otherwise, especially considering the course of action many had taken. "Does that sound alright by you?"
Jack, once a few steps away from the lighthouse, began to jog down the slope back towards the woods. He'd heard Piper's mention of Risher's trail, so the logical place to start looking was by the streambed and, considering the carnage, Jack highly doubt any of the monsters were still hanging around. So off he went, trundling down the hill and crashing into the undergrowth like he hadn't a care in the world. And, as always, was completely oblivious to his surroundings.

[ also, as a quick q, would you guys like to skip the return trip or no? ]
Piper preferred not to think about the potential fate of Risher, and crammed the glove back into his pocket. Knowing the guy, it didn't strike him as surprising to discover he might've left on his own, but it didn't settle well. Risher had taken his position pretty seriously, and it didn't seem too much like him to just suddenly ditch. His trail of thought ended there as Fiona talked about more relevant matters, and he shot a glance at the two groups. He had to admit, she was right. Their previous strategy had been solid for what they intended to do on the patrol that morning, but the ambush quickly changed things. "We should keep the injured students in the middle of the group, in case the smell of blood attracts another horde. We can also take the path close to the gates this time," he added, glancing over at her now. It was hard not to look or sound at least a little intimidated by her confidence. "I can scout, unless you have someone in mind....?"
Stile rolled his eyes in response, deciding not to comment on yet another mention of Fiona. If he heard that name again, he felt like he might actually flip. "Uhhhh last time you entirely screwed up the last ten minutes of the movie, so I don't trust you to monologue anymore," he scoffed, giving her a lighthearted shove, snatching her hat from her head in the process, plopping it gingerly atop his own. He swung his arm out in a dramatic flourish, pulling off a quality imitation of her. "God I just love snarky clever movies, because they're just like me!! But if only I was as cool as Stile!"
Wisteria kept even pace with Jack, trailing far enough behind to duck behind cover he caught on, but she managed to remain mostly silent while tailing him. Whatever the guy was up to, she was determined to know. Blackmail wasn't cheap in this day and age, but boy did she have it up the ass. She hadn't brought her rifle with her, but a hunting knife was strapped to her thigh beneath her skirt for good measure. As the streambed came into view she slowed, and ducked behind a bush to watch.
Risher had learned a lot about himself from staring aimlessly up at the clouds, and he concluded that the glove sucked anyways and his look was far better without it. Besides, it would just make the Bermuda kids miss him dearly, and he thought that was kind of pitiful and hilarious. Just as he was about to get up and head back to whatever hell he'd crawled from this morning, he heard some kind of horribly ungraceful creature approaching. He jumped to his feet in a start, tail sticking straight up in the air was he watched with wide eyes. Taking a quick look around, he scrambled up into the big pine tree again, situating himself high up in the branches to watch, trying not to lose any clothing items on the way this time.

Cassie blinked. No, yeah, this person was definitely talking to her. Somehow making even such a small move clumsy, she shuffled her feet to stand straighter against the wall. "Hello," she greeted with her usual warmth, though a frown followed. "Sorry, I uh... I don't know how to sign."
Lilah was largely ignoring Stile's obvious frustration with her crush- not that he should have been very surprised -though it didn't seem intentional. What was it that people said? Something about rose colored glasses? Yeah, at the moment, she couldn't see the issues with the situation. Ignorance is bliss, after all. When her most precious item was taken from her, the girl pouted, crossing her arms over her chest. "Hey! That is not how I act. Not to mention if we had a battle to death over coolness, I'm pretty sure I would win."

Stile pulled the brim of the hat low on his face and laughed. "You would win in a battle to death over coolness? Yeah right!" he grinned, moving over and linking one arm with hers, shaking his head. "You couldn't win against these guns," he teased, holding out his free arm and flexing it, even though he was wearing a winter jacket that didn't exactly show his form well. "Maybe I'll keep this hat too, it improves my image."

Fiona shrugged, "If you're willing. Perhaps take one more person with you so there's a better likelihood of someone making it back to the main group if you find a little too much trouble." Pulling her screen our of her pocket, she brought up the small holographic map and studied the path he suggested for a moment, then nodded, "Sounds like a plan. Anything goes wrong, you come straight back. You're the lesser of many evils, I'd rather not have to work with someone who's a little less sane." Checking the time, she turned and let out a piercing whistle, "ALRIGHT everyone, form up. We're moving out! Injured people stick to the center of the group, but if you ain't bleeding, stick to the outside and keep your eyes peeled. We're heading straight back for base, so stay together." She did a quick head count of class A and immediately noticed Wisteria's absence. Glancing around, she scowled, "And where's Wisteria?"
Jack made his way back down to the streambed and looked around. It was eerily still, with not even a breeze blowing over the recently abandoned battlefield. Corpses of the beasts still littered the ground and he gave one a light kick as he moved past. There was only one thing to do now, considering his considerable lack of skill in the tracking department. Cupping his hands around his mouth, he hollered as loud as he could, "RISHER! IT'S JACK! WHERE ARE YOU BRO?!"

Cassie nodded, although seemed ever so slightly uncomfortable. She blamed her parents for that. "Oh, okay! Uh-" She was cut off by Fiona's ear-splitting whistle, wincing at the noise. Healthy people on the outside? "Hey uh... maybe feel like helping me out with this? I'm new and I have only shot this thing once and ended up shooting someone. Basically, I'm pretty sure I'm going to die, haha."
Lilah hissed like a cat, hopping on to Stile's back. "Gah, you fiend! How dare you try to take my most prized possesion! Thou shalt never defeat the wonderously powerful- and I might I add alluring and enchanting -Lilah Chastain!" Grabbing the hat back, she slid off of him. "Hey, that means you two-face. Go stay safe in the middle, yeah?" She tossed him a rather condescending wink, reaching at her belt for her katars. "Oh, shoot!" She spun around and pushed past people to reach Fiona.

[ no one answered me :,) do you guys want to skip the return trip? or no? ]
Piper nodded in response, chewing on his bottom lip as he turned to face his class. He wasn't sure who he'd pick to come with him, there weren't many people he entirely trusted to have his back in a situation like this. He just figured that with what happened earlier, if he scouted maybe he could keep some of the monsters away. Fiona did have a point though, and he moved to address Class B. "You heard her, form up. I'm scouting ahead if anyone would like to come with me, otherwise, stick to the plan," he nodded, gesturing with his arm for people to follow as he moved for the door. At Fiona's comment, it reminded him to do a head count of his own, double checking to make sure his eyes weren't mistaken. "Jack's gone too."
Stile nearly stumbled onto his face when she climbed up on him like a spider monkey, swatting her away like the nuisance she was. "Hey, you have to admit the hat looks better on me!" he boasted, turning around and poking her stomach. Hearing the announcement, the pout returned to his face. It wasn't that much blood, and surely Lilah would- scratch that, she had more important things grabbing her attention. Face falling to a frown, he squeezed his way into the middle of the crowd, like the weakest of the cattle.
Wisteria snorted into her hand, eyes going wide with surprise. Sure, compared to Ana, Jack was probably not the smartest twin, but she'd never taken him to be this dumb. Immediately, she popped out of the bush and strode over to him, footsteps quite as she stepped carefully over the debris. Hearing him calling for Risher made her feel a little bit sad, as it was a glaring reminder that he was gone. Things were easier with him in the leader position. Carefully, she stepped up behind him and cleared her throat. "Are you done shouting into the woods, alerting every monster within miles of your presence? We have to go."
Risher stiffened where he sat, catching sight of Jack wandering across the streambed through the tree leaves. It took a lot of willpower to not call out to him, to not shove his hand out and wave to make sure the guy knew that he was okay and everything. But that would ruin the facade, ruin the plan, as much as he'd like to have a glorious reunion with his best bro. A guilty feeling settled in the bit of his stomach, but he pulled his tail onto his lap and kept still and quiet, waiting for him to leave. He had a sinking feeling that he'd regret this later, but committed. The time would come when he'd go back and announce his presence, and it would be far more glorious than this rather depressing setting.
