When she was little she overheard her parents and her (maternal) grandparents talking about dark magic and where the knowledge of it came from. Not the full conversation though because she was playing before she went over to them so she missed any direct mention of agarthans. And what she overheard didn't make much sense to her. Since she was still very little she also forgot most of what was said. But what did stick with her is a sense of wrongness and the belief that knowing dark magic is a bad thing. Her parents can't really convince her otherwise because of what they've heard from Zenon (only they and his wife know who he really is, everyone else just knows his human disguise and the Tancreds can't just reveal the truth to everyone and can't even tell Natalie and Manuel, at least until they're older) but they still try to get her to realize that even if it's of dubios origin it doesn't make someone bad. Unfortunately she's too stubborn in that belief and still sees anyone who knows dark magic (including herself) as having something inherently wrong with them.

Fanatics, assassins, anyone who doesn't take responsibility for their actions, the way crests can ruin relationships, especially familial ones. Yes, his brother Alyosha who's two years younger than him. They aren't super close but at least they don't dislike one another. As kids Konstantin actually really enjoyed playing with him at first before finding out about Alyosha's crest and what it meant for them. He resented him for quite a while, often sneering at him when he failed at something ("Why don't you use your super important crest, huh?"). But seeing that having a crest didn't make Alyosha stronger than him restored his self-worth and he became nicer to him, even helping him train and study. They grew a bit closer as students, despite often making fun of each other. Now, they still aren't all that close but definitely respect one another.

Close at first, but became more distant once they learned that Alyosha had a crest.

Pretty much how it is with his mother. But he appreciates that his parents, despite clearly favoring Alyosha, still did their best to raise him well.

Yes, a few times. The first was the realization that there are things he'll always be better at than his brother. It definitely made him more friendly and understanding towards him. The second was meeting his classmates when he and Alyosha became students at Garreg Mach. Seeing how bad some crestless nobles have it made him appreciate his family more. And the third was, too, during his time as a student. Near the end of the Red Wolf Moon a group of assassins attacked the monastery and the Lions had to deal with a pretty weak group that only served to keep them occupied. So none of them were allowed to run off to aid the Eagles who were struggling with the largest and strongest group. Well, one of the Eagles got killed in that battle and everyone had to promise to keep quiet about it. While most Lions, including Konstantin, weren't super close with the students from the other houses it shook them pretty badly.

If anyone were to ask him directly he wouldn't be able to give a clear answer, always contradicting himself in his words and his actions.

That there's nothing for him. There's a ritual that's commonly performed in his tribe so the spirits of their dead can move on but since the tribe rejects him and because he doesn't live with them anyway he doubts that there will be a ritual for him. He is also starting to become a follower of the church but he believes the Goddess will turn him away as he's not from Fódlan. To him that means that after his death he'll be doomed to aimlessly wander around for all eternity. And you bet it scares him!

Yes, his half-brother Kubrat who is nine years older than him. They barely acknowledge each other as siblings. At first Kubrat was actually nice to him, even after it was revealed that Serik had no crest. But he soon followed his parents' example and began to shun him. Serik always tried to get his brother's attention and to get him to play or train with him but Kubrat always turned him away and sometimes when just acting cold and ignoring him didn't work he would use force to get Serik to stop pestering him. Kubrat doesn't miss his brother at all and believes their parents were right to get rid of him. Serik resents his brother but also still clings to the few memories of Kubrat having been nice to him.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their mother like?
The second she found out that he had no crest she began to see him at a burden at first and then as a danger to not only their noble house but also their land, thinking his lack of a crest is a sign from the goddess that he's not supposed to exist. Katia never showed any kindness to him and often watched him with suspicion. Serik, not knowing any show of affection from her, soon grew used to this and never felt close to her. He always had to walk on eggshells around her as she'd see every wrong word or action, no matter how small, as proof of him plotting against his family and the people on their land.
He has a good relationship with his adoptive mother. Sometimes he wonders why Zarina is a so much better mother to him than Katia had ever been, thinking there must be a good reason why the family he was born into didn't love him.
What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
He doesn't know who his father is and neither does Goran know about Serik. If they met it would be super awkward but Goran would not be opposed to getting to know his son and Serik is also pretty curious about his father.
While Paskal had accepted him as his own he never was a good father to him. Just like his wife he feared that Serik's lack of a crest meant that the goddess didn't approve of him. He always ordered a servant, guard or knight to keep an eye on the boy to make sure he wasn't planning anything nefarious. Serik often snuck out into town as he couldn't stand being supervised all the time. Sometimes whoever was watching him caught him immediately or let him wander around for a bit before bringing him back home where his father, mother or brother would punish him for sneaking out and all three would then ask him and his supervisor about what he had done outside to make absolutely sure that he wasn't doing anything bad.
He has a good relationship with his adoptive father though sometimes he wishes Dias would stop taking him along whenever he travels to Faerghus as he finds the whole merchant thing boring. At the same time he is grateful that he's giving him more freedom than Paskal ever had as Dias often encourages him to explore the town they're visiting a little.

His family ordered one of their knights to kill him to appease the goddess, which was already bad enough, and a couple years later he found out that they had been completely unjustified and had blamed him for something he had nothing to do with.

One about being shoved off that cliff into the sea while the knight who had been ordered to do so gave a prayer to the goddess, asking her to accept the sacrifice. Even now he remembers the exact words. His other nightmares are about the agarthan (well, "creepy person" and "figment of his imagination" as he calls it as he doesn't know about the agarthans) he once saw. In his dreams this person often turns out to be a shapeshifter, turning into a huge beast or dragon that slowly walks towards him to either crush him with its fangs or rip him apart with its claws and its gaze freezing him in place so he can't get away.

Pretty much anytime he works with one of his adoptive parents. As boring as he thinks his father's occupation is he loves spending time with him. He normally keeps his cool and neither backs down nor flies off the handle. Unless whoever he's dealing with truly makes him angry, then he might go for personal attacks.

When he really despises the other person he's very tempted to just resort to physical violence but he can always control his anger enough. He might try to pick a fight with the other person though and provoke them so he has an excuse to hit them.

That his family would love him and that he could somehow earn their respect. He would often pray to the goddess begging her to change her mind and give him a crest like the rest of his family. And of course none of that came true.

Cowardice, cruelty, blind obedience, the belief that crestbearers are more valuable than crestless people, the sense of superiority some nobles have, irresponsibility in leaders, unfairness, especially from people who are supposed to look our for others.

When being asked about his childhood. He hates lying so he just avoids the parts that deal with his life in Faerghus but he fears that some can tell he's not telling them everything and that they will get him to accidentally reveal more than he wants to.

Depends on why he dislikes them. Most of the time he still tries to be friendly or at least polite but if they keep being rude he'll be rude to them as well. Pettiness, cowardice and indecisiveness. He also dislikes it when they dismiss other peoples potential despite there being evidence for their usefulness.

It takes him quite some time, even with his own people. He also has to work alongside them first to see if he can trust them, just hanging out and talking isn't enough.

Very quick. He's reluctant to suspect people he's close with but he'll do so if there's cause.

Mostly indifferent and kinda standoffish. Sometimes he plays or jokes with them though.

Unless there's a huge benefit from it he won't avoid them. He might use some trickery but will be very direct if the other person isn't easily fooled.

Very quick if it's his best option, much slower if there are other ways.

He dreamt of becoming someone of high rank and in charge of one day leading an attack against the surface dwellers but happily gave up on that when he discovered his love for manipulation instead. So no, it didn't come true but he doesn't mind.

Surface dwellers in general, but especially the church. People who fail the agarthans and don't even try to make up for their mistake. He's also disgusted by parents (surface dwellers and agarthans alike) who see their children as mere tools.

Getting to walk around as himself, enjoying the views the outside world has to offer.

Being alone with one or more surface dwellers and having to act sympathetic to them when they're upset. It takes all of his willpower to not walk out on them or just take them out when it could be so easy.

Defensive but also willing to improve. Not that he'd say so, of course.

Kinda both. He believes he has to earn the respect of the other Agarthans. As for pretty much everything on the surface, he totally thinks that the Agarthans deserve it. With their actions against the surface dwellers they're only taking what's rightfully theirs.

As himself? Very difficult but he'll never say it without meaning it. While posing as someone else? No problem at all.

Nothing. No gods, no afterlife, no reincarnation, no nothing. While it doesn't scare him it makes him all the more determined to achieve something while he's alive.

No, he's an only child. He has a younger cousin but doesn't know she exists. And if he did he would absolutely despise her.

Kind of close. He feels sorry for her for being the daughter of a traitor but he also admires her because of how well she's dealing with it.

Kinda like with his mother, only slightly less close as he can't bond with him over the 'being related to that traitor'-thing.

His obsession with proving that he's nothing like Zenon, even when there's absolutely no cause for it. He often assumes others are judging him for it, even when someone is just criticising him or questioning whether he's capable of a task he doesn't have the skill for. While he does end up agreeing with them most of the time and can be reasoned with he doesn't always listen at first because he immediately jumps to the conclusion that he's being judged for his grandfather.

He compares himself to others a lot. In terms of skill, loyalty, reliability, views on surface-dwellers and things like that. He does it for self-criticism if someone is better than him and self-validation if they're lacking in one of those areas.

Also relatively quick, especially human-agarthan spawns. As for other agarthans, he always worries when one of the other spies gets too chummy with surface dwellers because sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's an act or not.

Much more carefree but he's also responsible around them. He likes to tell them about the surface to share his excitement with them and takes training them very seriously. He's definitely not above teasing them though. As for human children, he likes to scare and sometimes bully them if it doesn't interfere with his tasks.

Leading a group to wipe out all surface dwellers or just being part of it to prove himself. While it won't come true entirely he will get to be part on an attack on them and will be one of the more dangerous agarthans. Won't live long enough to see whether they succeed or not though.

Sympathy for surface dwellers, humans in general but especially those who are part agarthan, betrayal.
