Smoke - Kittypet - 52 Moons - Tom Smoke is a sleek black tom with amber eyes. He has a pale green collar. [ Quick to anger | Cautious | Impatient] He was the former mate of Swanflower and the father of Troutwhisker and Mosslight. He does not care for clan cats that much, having tried to convince Swanflower to leave while pregnant.

Brightclaw »
As soon as Troutwhisker mentioned his whiskers Brightclaw smushed herself closer to him and leaned forward, head tilting and eyes going wide in observation as she attempted to analyze each and every whisker on the tom's muzzle. "You do have some long ones there," she confirmed, drawing herself back to allow Troutwhisker just a bit more room; Brightclaw remained pressed up against him, though, finding that she liked the extra warmth his nearby body was providing. "I can see why Coconutfall named you that now. He must have paid a lot of attention to your whiskers, though..." Before the whole scandal had come out Coconutfall had been a lot more social. He would interact with the Clan and get to know them. On a few occasions he had spoken with Brightclaw and he seemed like a rather well-minded tom, but now... Well, Brightclaw wouldn't think anything ill of any cat, but she did have to agree that Vanillabloom hadn't deserved such a betrayal.
Brightclaw shook her head. Now wasn't the time to dive into such thoughts. Tonight was a happy one, not a sorrowful one.
The ginger molly nudged Troutwhisker once she had picked up on his last statement. "Well I think Troutwhisker is a pretty cool name. You don't hear a lot of -whisker names! And even if we had a whole Clan full of -whiskers, there's no other Troutwhisker. That makes you unique already!" The scout puffed her chest out and beamed a bright smile down at the tom beside her. Even if he didn't think his name was cool, Brightclaw did, and she was proud of him regardless on if he achieved anything in his apprenticeship or not.

P A R R O T C A L L with littlefoam | calm falls @ 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 "So modest," he teased, gently bumping her shoulder in a playful manner. His long tail remained outstretched, waiting patiently for her to take it. His smile warmed as she laid her tail atop his. "Can't blame me for trying, can you?" With a cheerful shrug, he turned and led them around the throng of cats, pressing his tail-tip to her flank in a light, reassuring gesture that he was nearby should they get separated. Despite his nonchalant tone, despite the easy smile, his words had been sincere. They always were where Littlefoam was concerned. She seemed determined to brush off any compliment he threw her way, however, so he didn't push it. Not as often as he used to, anyway. He was grateful enough for her friendship.
"Here," he murmured, bringing them to a spot that was near enough to have a good view of the ceremony yet still on the outskirts of the crowd. Even so, it was hard to leave much space between them; though they weren't touching, he could feel the heat from her spotted fur beside him. He hoped she couldn't sense the warmth blooming under his white coat as well. Parrotcall knew he looked good, and he knew others knew it, too -- he did put effort into his appearance, after all. But he rarely heard it from anyone aloud, and coming from Littlefoam the compliment was enough to make the unflappable healer blush. "Oh, she's modest and kind, too! But you should've seen me an hour ago, covered in pulped herbs," he replied, laughing it off.
J A C A R A N D A B L O O M Jacarandabloom's pale mottled fur prickled as whispers flew between Pearlwave and Batpaw. Even though she was standing right there. Her annoyance at being left out of the conversation was poorly disguised, as so many of her emotions were. Are they talking about me? They must be if they didn't want her to hear it. She rolled her eyes. Fine. I don't want to hear it anyway. What she didn't know couldn't hurt her. Or so she'd thought, until Coconutfall revealed his secret litter, replacing his firstborn kits with just a few words. Stop it, stop it. This was supposed to be a fun night. She needed to focus. Her eyes found Pearlwave's and her head seemed to clear a little.
Not to be outdone, Batpaw had a comeback fired up and ready to go, dragging her back to what was happening around her. Jacarandabloom smirked at him. Unable to keep her natural competitiveness at bay, she retorted, "Your height will be worthless without the muscle and guts to back it up, Squirt." Then she stuck her tongue out right back at him. He was probably correct, though. She wasn't a tall cat and the young black tom was already eye-level with her shoulder. It annoyed her more than it should.
"'Besties?'" The scout looked from one to the other with incredulity, tail twitching. She narrowed her eyes in a suspicious squint. "Riiiight. You're joking." It was often hard for her to discern sarcasm from sincerity. Other cats seemed to think she was being funny when she was being totally serious. "Interesting choice of friends you've got there," she said to Pearlwave, unconsciously referring to herself. K I W I P A W A look of despair that was comical for how heartfelt it was crossed Kiwipaw's face. "Kiwibug?" It sounded like a horrible pet name, or like something his parents would have called him when he was little. He scowled at Whitepaw, but coming from a cat who never scowled, it wasn't very threatening. His face was too innocent. "You're horrible," he said, shoving her playfully. A warrior sitting nearby shushed him and he ducked his head guiltily. Falling quiet again, he watched Lemonpaw step up to receive his name, trying to imagine how he would feel if it were him up there right now. In front of all these eyes. He shifted uncomfortably beside Whitepaw. What if Lemonpaw tripped or garbled his words or something? Kiwipaw didn't think he could handle the secondhand embarrassment if that happened. His short brown fur crawled with sympathetic anxiety for the other apprentice. "It really should be you up there, too, though," he whispered to Whitepaw after a moment. Then added in a hurry, "Getting your name, I mean," lest she think he was talking about Tigerpaw sitting with Coconutfall.

Mantafur with open calm falls @ Tag Mantafur was too far gone to have heard Coconutfall's call to gather. The tom's long black fur was only hidden amongst the ferns and fronds due to the dark of the night. Hazel eyes, which looked more green than golden, darted over the foliage. Focus was clearly painted on his expression, as well as a hint of determination. Mantafur wasn't sure why he was so intent on his search, or what had made him want to find a hibiscus flower in the first place, but he wasn't going to stop until he found one. It was still undetermined in his mind who he would give it to, but Vanillabloom was at the forefront of his thoughts. A hibiscus flower was rare, and he'd only ever found one in his lifetime. So, if he happened to find one again, it might be a nice gesture to give it to his sister.
His sister. Again, Vanillabloom lingered in his thoughts. Mantafur couldn't believe the truth that had come out, and while he should've been furious at Coconutfall for his deceit, he just couldn't bring himself to do it. Wasn't like he could turn back time, stop the brown tabby from his affair, or even further to stop the whispers of the Ocean from naming his sister. So, why waste the energy when there was really nothing anyone could do about it? Nevertheless, his heart ached for his nieces and nephew. He hadn't made much attempt to check in on them. Mainly because the idea of talking about feelings made him incredibly uncomfortable, but he also imagined the topic of their father's infidelity wasn't something they wanted to discuss.
Letting out a frustrated groan, Mantafur paused his searching to just sit still for a moment. He sat up and brought both his paws up to rub at his eyes, which felt tired from staring at leaves all night. "This is going no where." He complained, mostly to himself. The urge to surrender was strong, his paws itching to turn around and go back to the clearing with his clanmates. "No, Mantafur. You need to stand firm. Don't give up!" Bolstering himself, Mantafur stood back up and continued forward. He could feel the slight incline of the ground, figuring he had to be close to the top of the waterfall.
Littlefoam with Parrotcall calm falls "I suppose not." Littlefoam answered what was most likely a rhetorical question, but it was a question nonetheless and she felt the need to respond. Another thing she admired about Parrotcall was how careful he was with her. While Sunchaser was wild and free, her brother was a little more refined. It isn't often, but when the three of them are together, Parrotcall was usually the one to make sure Littlefoam could keep up. It was something she noticed a while back, how he treated her more delicately than others. She just wasn't sure if it was because she was his sister's friend, or because they were co-workers, or maybe something else. However, the spotted molly had convinced herself seasons ago that there couldn't have been something else.
Once Parrotcall had found a spot, she obediently fell in beside him, taking her tail away and wrapping it securely around her paws. The spacing was tight, but she didn't seem to be bothered by it. She'd gotten to a point of ease with the ginger-point tom that she didn't mind the closeness. Plus they'd been sharing a works space for some time now, one that got easily cramped with patients. Brushing fur wasn't that big of a deal. Then again this wasn't the healer's den, and they weren't sitting together as coworkers. Her whiskers twitched as her lips curled up into an amused smile, now lifting her head to look up at him. "I did see you an hour ago and you looked just as handsome then," there was a beat before she continued in a whispered frenzy. "I just, I mean, all I meant by that was you still look the same covered in herbs. Not that the herbs made you better looking, or less attractive, because they're just herbs. I guess a bit of mint could make one's scent more fragrant, but even then-" another beat followed by a heavy sigh. "What I'm trying to say is that you still looked just fine."
Pearlwave with Jacarandabloom & Batpaw calm falls Batpaw's taunting was starting to get more on her nerves than she would've liked to admit. His speculations on her relationship with Jacarandabloom was particularly annoying because she wasn't sure if he was hitting it right on the nose, or grasping for straws. Whichever one it was, Pearlwave wasn't too sure herself. Fortunately, the bickering between scout and scout apprentice kept her from voicing anymore of her thoughts. An amused expression replaced her stiff one, and she couldn't stop the giggles that rose from her throat. She was almost certain that Batpaw would take offense to it and immediately felt a little guilty.
The young tom's own comeback to her own teasing made her eyes widen, and Pearlwave had to muffle her laughter with the tip of her fuzzy tail. It was a ridiculous image for her to imagine. A grown up version of herself bumbling and wandering around like a kit, suddenly latching onto Batpaw like she didn't know any better and letting him lead her around. After calming down enough to speak, Pearlwave gave Jacarandabloom a light nudge this time. "I'm sorry, Batpaw, but let's not forget it was you who ran into me. Something about my fur being too hard to see in the dark?" It was getting harder and harder to keep her tone down. All three of them may soon be kicked out for being too much of a nuisance. "Also that's completely ridiculous because I've been to calm falls more times than you have." Not that it was a competition or anything. She just felt the need to point it out, lest Jacarandabloom think she'd actually gotten lost on her way to calm falls and needed an apprentice's help to find her way.

Batpaw // with Jacarandabloom & Pearlwave ( Tealraven , 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢) - Batpaw met with Jacarandabloom's clear blue eyes. He scrunched his nose again and frowned. " I'll have you know that I do have muscles as matter of fact," His face turned red knowing that the scout was right," You just can't see it because of my furball like fur." He pushed his paw deeper into the soft ground, trying so hard not to blow up from the snarky molly's comments. " And as for guts, uh, don't you think me talking to you, a senior known to bite someone's tail off, takes guts to do?" Batpaw knew it was true. He'd usually fall silent when Jacarandabloom was around, but this time was different. The tom hated any kind of banter toward him, so he felt the need to talk back. The cat's eyes widen hearing the molly once again make fun of him. " I think any cat that knows and befriends me is lucky in the end Jacarandabloom. Consider yourself privileged." He turned his fluffy head towards Pearlwave now. " I don't remember that happening or saying that!" he shuffled his paws as he knew there was no way out of this one now," Whatever, you cats are no fun." He frowned before sighing. " Anyways," he looked away and saw the small crowd gathering, assuming for the apprentice promotion that was happening for his fellow apprentices,"didn't you want to find some hibiscus flowers for tonight Pearlwave? I think we should look for hibiscus flowers before the night ends." Batpaw desperately wanted to change the subject as Pearlwave outed him and there was no comeback to that.

LemonpawLemonpaw couldn't believe his ears. Had Coconutfall just implied that it was time for him to receive his full, scout name?
His clear yellow gaze glistened in the moonlight, holding the shape of two bright, dazzling lights. He quickly checked his pelt for any leaves or dirt, his heart beating faster then ever. Soon he marched over to the front, standing before most of the cats there.
He flicked his ears impatiently, smiling. But his smile faltered, and eventually faded. Turtlestream had not been with him recently. She hadn't given him the last push he needed; it hurt the tom. He knew it wasn't her fault, but he couldn't help but wonder if the Ocean had something to do with this.
His smile appeared again, brighter then before. Maybe he could take this opportunity as a nice way to show Turtlestream he is ready, ready to be a scout?

Coralstep chuckled, intertwining her tail with Coppershore's. "We should go and see what Coconutfall has to say, hear Lemonpaw's full name 'n all that. Maybe we can go hibiscus picking after? It's been ages..." Her expression held a serene look as she remembered the first time Coppershore had asked her to go hibiscus picking with him. They were apprentices, around eight moons old. He had asked her to stay where she was, and came back moments later, a hibiscus gently placed in his mouth. It was a deep red color, prettier then any other she had seen. He had gifted her the dainty plant, and in that moment she had felt something new - a new feeling, which she later recognized to be love. She had kept the petals, and to this day, they lay in a box next to her nest, one which she had gotten from Quickwind.

Brightclaw »
Brightclaw’s smile widened at Troutwhisker’s compliment. Warmth rushed over her, coiling in her chest and settling neatly inside, all snug and cozy. Compliments had always been the way to Brightclaw’s heart, and Troutwhisker was certainly hitting that mark rather well. ”I always thought there was no reason to be sad. There’s too much sadness so there’s gotta be happiness somewhere, too,” she told the tom with a shrug of her broad shoulders. ”Sadness is pain, and I don’t like pain.” Sure, she was a scout, and scouts had to deal with border skirmishes and injuries quite often, but that didn’t mean the orange and white molly enjoyed being in pain. Whitepaw »
Despite knowing that she needed to be quiet, Whitepaw couldn't stop the eruption of laughter that exploded from her upon taking in the sight of Kiwipaw's despair. From nearby a warrior could be heard telling the two apprentices to keep it quiet, yet that didn't deter Whitepaw, still shaking with laughter despite the noise no longer being audible. Eventually the laughter subsided, her eyes watery with tears and her chest hurting from the amount of laughter that had been expelled. She shook her head, raising a paw to wipe her face. "Oh, Great Ocean, you should have seen the look on your face at that. Didn't think Kiwibug would have gotten such a response from you," Whitepaw breathed, words heavy as she tried to reclaim the air she had just lost. "I don't think I've ever seen a look like that on you. It doesn't suit you." Her words didn't come from a place of malice, only honesty. It wasn't a secret that Kiwipaw was more of a soft soul and not the type to be rough or angry. He was sweet like the fruit he had been named after.
After some time Whitepaw had recovered from her laughing fit moments before. She sat silent beside her friend, still just as eager to hear what Lemonpaw's name would be. Her ears swiveled toward Kiwipaw as he spoke up again, yet her eyes remained locked on Coconutfall and Tigerpaw. "Surely my name will be called after Lemonpaw gets his name." Tigerpaw had told her and Lionpaw earlier that he assumed Lemonpaw would be getting his warrior name tonight, yet not once had he mentioned Whitepaw getting hers. Did that mean she wouldn't be getting her name or was Tigerpaw staying silent to keep it a surprise for her? Whitepaw's tail twitched. What sort of secrets was her brother hiding from her? As the neophyte he was sure to have a wide array of knowledge that would forever remain a secret to the rest of the Clan, but did he have to keep her upcoming ceremony a secret from her? Something about that thought left a bitter taste in the molly's mouth. She didn't want to ponder on that one for any longer. The last thing she needed was to sow dissent between her and Tigerpaw. Their family was broken enough as it was after all.

Coconutfall »
For all his flaws and faults, for all his shortcomings as an oracle of HibiscusClan, one of the few things that Coconutfall did well in was naming ceremonies. He was attentive to his Clan, or had been before shutting himself off after his confession. He had been active in the lives of the youth of the Clan, watching as they grew into fine warriors for the Clan. He would assess their training to see how they were coming along, and a few times he had watched as Turtlestream taught Lemonpaw everything she knew. He had been on a few scouting patrols with the pair and some others, watching to see how Lemonpaw went about his tasks. Never once had he faltered from what Coconutfall had witnessed and now that dedication was being rewarded. Lemonpaw was a fine young adult now and had proved himself more than worthy of a full name.
He smiled down at the tom as Lemonpaw stepped forward. ”I, Coconutfall, call to the spirits of the Ocean. Lemonpaw has trained hard to learn the ways of a scout, and now it is his turn to be a full member of our Clan. Lemonpaw, do you promise to uphold the rules of the Ocean and be the best scout you can be?” Not once did his gaze falter from the young tom, watching him in proud silence as he awaited Lemonpaw’s response.

This was it! This was the moment the Clan would welcome a new, fully-fledged scout. Brightclaw beamed excitedly in Lemonpaw's direction, watching as the tomcat stepped forward and looked up to Coconutfall who was now reciting the words Brightclaw had heard at her own ceremony. Memories of her naming ceremony washed over her like a warm and gentle tide.
She had been beyond excited, a trembling mess of pure energy as she had stepped forward to receive her name. Coconutfall had commended her for her strength and friendliness before awarding her with the name of Brightclaw. Never had she been more proud of herself than in that moment, and never had she ever been so proud of her sister as well. Aniselight had deserved her name just as much as Brightclaw had, and as soon as the naming ceremony had been over Brightclaw had rushed right to her sister and rammed right into her, nuzzling her happily and cheering for her littermate's new name. Of course it hadn't taken long for their parents to join the two as well, Coppershore as loving and warm as ever while Coralstep had congratulated them each with a smile on her face and a loving, proud lick across the ears.
For Brightclaw that moment would never leave her memory. It would be something she would hold close for the rest of her life, and as she looked at Lemonpaw she could only imagine that this would be forever in his memories as well.

K I W I P A W Kiwipaw's eyes widened at Whitepaw's reaction. Her laughter seemed to go on forever. The apprentice shrank inside his fur, ears running hot, studiously avoiding the irritated looks of the older cats sitting nearby. "Oh, stop overreacting. Now you're just trying to get us kicked out," he hissed. Still, he had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from giggling. His friend's merry mood was contagious; he felt a week's worth of tension draining from his shoulders as he met her sparkling gaze, all the nerves he'd been feeling moments before replaced by a giddy rush of anticipation. "What do you think your name will be?" His whisper was no more than a breath. "Or if you could choose it for yourself, what would you pick?" He wasn't sure he knew the answer for himself.
W A V E C R E S T Something inside of Wavecrest woke up at the sarcasm coating Flickerdawn's meow. Maybe it wouldn't be so hard to talk to her after all. He chuckled. "Aren't we tragic." If anything, he was the one stuck with her. He had no doubt Flickerdawn could easily find someone else to talk to if she wanted. If only he had the same gift. "Take issue with you?" He cut her a sidelong glance, eyebrows raised. "Of course not. You're entirely delightful. So much so that your friends couldn't handle being in your presence and had to seek more boring company." It was an odd game the hunter sometimes played with himself: trying to be as politely insulting as possible without the other cat noticing. He had a feeling Flickerdawn would pick right up on it, though.
Wavecrest shuddered inwardly as the conversation returned to the boa. "I think I'll stick to smaller prey, myself," he muttered. "Something less toothy. Like angelfish." He tried not to think about how big the boa must have been, how wider still its jaws must have seemed, especially to a smaller cat like Lemonpaw. The young scout's ceremony was well-deserved; Wavecrest could think of no finer reward for his bravery than acknowledging his growth to adulthood. Turtlestream must be proud. "You don't have an apprentice, do you, Flickerdawn?"
S T O R M S U R F with redwave | calm falls @ Feathertalon That was the wrong thing to say. "Yes, of course. Very good point. I hadn't considered that," Stormsurf backpedaled, forcing himself to sound apologetic when what he really wanted to do was roll his eyes at Redwave's sharp words. So touchy. He was right, though, As a hunter himself, Redwave would know best how to use them. Beyond that, he knew the hunters better than Stormsurf; he shared meals and denspace with them and patrolled alongside them every day. He knew exactly which hunters would be most suitable for the job. Fine. Stormsurf flicked an ear. He disliked it when other cats knew more than he did, but fine.
"Pearlwave?" The healer turned his head to search for the molly's pale blue fur. It took him a moment to spot her, and when he did, he was surprised to see her standing with Jacarandabloom. He chewed his lower lip, a thoughtful frown creasing his forehead. Was she one of the ones who was firmly neutral? He couldn't recall. But if Redwave trusted his fellow hunter it was good enough for Stormsurf. "That could work." He shrugged. "I think we should target your strongest supporters first. Build yourself a solid inner circle and more will follow." How big did Redwave want his coup to be? A larger group would present a stronger challenge to Coconutfall's authority, but it could also draw too much attention before they were ready. "Why? Who do you think we should go after?" Redwave had been planning this far longer than Stormsurf, after all; he must have ideas of his own.

J A C A R A N D A B L O O M "'Too hard to see in the dark?'" Jacarandabloom echoed. She glanced at Pearlwave, whose pale blue fur had a soft glow to it under the full moonlight, then at Batpaw, who was indeed nearly invisible in the shadows but for his sad brown eyes. She arched an eyebrow in disbelief. "I think he's projecting." She scrunched her nose at him, mirroring his attitude. "Tempting as it may be, I don't bite the tails off of squirts like you. You're too much of a furball for my taste." She bared her fangs in a wicked grin, her tail twitching like a snake poised to strike. "Consider yourself privileged." She might be enjoying this a little more than she should.
A muffled laugh beside her drew her gaze back to Pearlwave. The other warrior's amused look paired with Batpaw's suggestion made excitement spark in her chest. Still she frowned. "You want to find a hibiscus?" It was a common tradition among younger cats and apprentices especially. The rare blossoms were said to bring protection and good luck to those who found one. She'd always wanted to find a hibiscus, but she'd never had any friends to go with, and pride had kept her from seeking it out on her own as an apprentice. Not that it mattered or anything. She didn't need flowers for protection when she was a scout. Jacarandabloom snorted. "Why bother?"
P A R R O T C A L L with littlefoam | calm falls @ 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢
Parrotcall returned her smile with a soft laugh. "I'm pleased to hear it!" He lifted his chin, eyes darting furtively over the faces around them, before ducking his head and continuing in a conspiratorial whisper. "I'm no Quickwind or Algaewing when it comes to experiments, but I've got this new mixture I've been working on designed specifically to enhance one's scent, and I saved it for just this occasion." A solemn nod. "It's supposed to make one irresistible." By the Tides, Littlefoam was endearing when she was flustered. Maybe it made him a terrible cat, but he couldn't help himself. A mischievous twinkle stole into his blue eyes despite his serious expression. "I'd offer you a sample, but how can you enhance what's already perfect?"
Was he making it up as he spoke? Absolutely. Yet the scientific part of his mind, the part that made him a healer, wondered at the possibilities. What else could herbs be used for outside of medicine? It wouldn't be a far stretch to take a few and turn them into some sort of perfume, would it? He'd have to ask Quickwind or Algaewing later; they always had the most intriguing ideas. Maybe he could make up some sort of study assignment for Butterflypaw, see what she might come up with if left to her own creative devices.
At the thought of his apprentice, he added, "How are things proceeding with you and Windpaw?" Parrotcall had been so busy lately he hadn't made time in his schedule for training. His fur prickled with guilt at neglecting Butterflypaw's lessons.

Ripplepawwith open
The soft, fresh scent of hibiscus hit the molly's nose as she bent down, taking in every shimmer of the stars. It had been the first time she was completely alone in a while. She had managed to distract herself with the help of friends, her mentor, patrols, visiting the healers, hunting and whatnot yet it was all useless. She'd have to think of it once more.
She blinked, moving away from the pink flower. She'd found a hibiscus, yet she was alone, without anyone to experience its' beauty with. Oh, if only Tigerpaw was here, she pondered, heat rising in her cheeks.
She'd have to think of how she'd felt. She'd stopped spending countless nights awake in the dens; she'd started spending the night in the forest, away from home. She'd hoped that maybe, she'd find her real mother.
Last night she stopped looking. She slept through the whole night for the first time in moons. "Who's there," she said softly, the crack of a twig alerting her.

Lemonpaw "Y-yes, yes, I do.." He cringed internally at his stuttering. It was a bad habit he'd kept from his kithood, stuttering as he talked. His friends used to call him 'Stutterpaw', an affectionate form of telling him how much he does the former.
He swallowed, his heart beating fast. He could hear his blood pounding in his ears. What was to happen? What name would he receive?

WHITEPAW — with Kiwipaw - Tealraven Oh Kiwipaw, ever the worrier. As Whitepaw was the ever confident one it was sometimes hard to understand how the two got along so well, but it surely had to be a case of opposites attract. Or maybe it had to do with the fact that Whitepaw had been padding after Butterflypaw for some time now and Kiwipaw had been a package deal with the calico. Either way the two somehow made it work and kept a friendship with ease. Whitepaw couldn’t stop herself from snickering at her friend’s comment. Again she heard the soft hiss of a nearby warrior telling Whitepaw specifically to quiet it down and have some respect for Lemonpaw’s ceremony, but the brown and white molly brushed the comment off. She was respecting Lemonpaw’s ceremony. Maybe it wasn’t the typical way, but that didn’t make her pride and excitement for him any less. Lemonpaw deserved his name, Whitepaw realized that, and when the naming ceremony truly started she would hush and listen, but there was still just enough time to joke around with Kiwipaw. It was after Kiwipaw’s question that Whitepaw fell silent. Her mischief from earlier was replaced with a thoughtful expression, jaw tight, whiskers pulled back, and eyes narrowed. Her tail-tip shifted back and forth across the ground. What would she name herself if she could pick? ”Hmmm,” she hummed aloud, tail-tip twitching in tandem with the vocalization. There were so many cool names out there that it was hard to decide on just one. If anything she knew she needed a tough name, something that showcased her hardiness, her strength, her battle skills. Whitepaw glanced down toward her paws before suddenly giving a jump, head lifting to look back at her friend. ”Whiteclaw would be a cool name! Or something like Whitestrike, Whitethunder, or-or - oh! Whiteboa! Now that’s a tough sounding name.” Whitepaw puffed herself out smugly before nudging Kiwipaw. ”What about you? Or would you actually wanna be Kiwibug?” The question was a serious one despite the smug grin across her visage. Whitepaw was curious to learn if the healer apprentice had any ideas for his name, and if so, what they could be. REDWAVE — with Stormsurf - Tealraven There was the faintest indication of satisfaction on the red tom’s face as Stormsurf attempted to retrace his steps from his earlier comments about hunters. Redwave could see how Stormsurf had come to the conclusion that hunters weren’t exactly useful as upon first inspection the particular group only supplied prey. Scouts were strong and capable in battle while healers could give the wounded a second chance. Catching prey and eating was important, but when it all boiled down even scouts and healers could hunt for their food if times were rough. Their skills would be lacking but desperate enough warriors would always find ways to eat. What hunters truly had over scouts and healers was the art of a swift kill and the ability of a stealthy ambush. Scouts were typically larger cats meant for brute force. They weren’t worried about silence. A hunter was swift-footed and silent; an enemy wouldn’t be able to detect a hunter was there until it was too late. They were the perfect tools for becoming assassins if need be. Hopefully things wouldn’t have to come to that, but there were two cats in particular that Redwave knew he needed to get rid of somehow if they were adamant in keeping their positions. For all his misgivings and distrustful thoughts toward Stormsurf, it was obvious to see that Redwave needed the healer by his side. Redwave was a cat of action, not thought. Had he gone about this the way he wanted then everything would have crumpled to dust before it could have even started. Stormsurf, on the other paw, was a cat of meticulous thought. He could see where Redwave’s plans were cracking and patch them up with only a second of thought given. In a way they complimented one another, the red tom the brawns and the blue tom the brains. Redwave needed Stormsurf even if he wasn’t always acting the most trustful toward the healer. Again Stormsurf was proving just how necessary to this cause he was. ”You're right,” he responded after a moment. ”We need a strong base before building on.” That was something he would need to tell himself over and over again - Redwave had shown multiple times how badly he wanted to rush into this and take Coconutfall off his throne. ”I say we start with Jacarandabloom,” he mewed with a nod toward where his sister sat with Pearlwave and Batpaw nearby. Batpaw would be the one they’d have to be careful around. Redwave had seen him with Tigerpaw a few days ago, yet then again he had also been with Lionpaw who was apparently on Redwave’s side. They’d still need to be careful as the apprentice could go either way. ”If we can talk to her and tell her our plans, then we’ll have three cats of every rank. Me with the hunters, you with the healers, and Jacarandabloom with the scouts. Or we could start speaking with cats like Jellysplash and Reedshark, talk to those who are more on our side but may still need just a little extra push.” This was where Redwave needed Stormsurf’s forethought. Redwave had two sets of actions he could carry out it was all just a matter of which route to take first. COCONUTFALL — with Lemonpaw - ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · He had heard the stutter in Lemonpaw’s answer Coconutfall knew it wasn’t something to worry about. He had heard many apprentices stammer their ‘I do’s before. It was nothing new, and something he was sure had happened from the very beginning. Even Coconutfall himself had stammered during his naming ceremony. He had felt so small under the intense gaze of his mother as she had called for him to step forward for all the Clan to see. He had been alone that day as Archwhisker had received his name a few moons before Coconutfall had; training as an oracle took moons longer than the average warrior. Even excelling in most of his training it had still taken seasons for him to graduate, and even after knowing he was ready to be a full fledged member of the Clan he had still been nervous to receive his name, so he knew exactly how Lemonpaw felt in this moment. Standing tall with pride for Lemonpaw, Coconutfall spoke not only to the young tom, but to the Clan and to the spirits of the Ocean as well. ”Lemonpaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Lemonleap. We honor your nurture and your friendliness and welcome you as a full scout of HibiscusClan.” Once he spoke the words he leaped down from the branch, landing in the gentle pool below. He waded toward Lemonleap, and once in front of the newly named scout he gave the tom a lick across the ear, a silent proud welcome as a full scout. Breaking the silence was Tigerpaw’s loud yowl from above. ”Lemonleap! Lemonleap!” He started the chant as loud and proud as he could, clear excitement in his voice as he cheered for the new scout.

Lemonleap
The tom's eyes glimmered with pride as Coconutfall uttered his new name for the first time. The echo of the voices' of his Clanmates made him puff out his, standing tall and appearing increasingly big as he did so due to his tall, lanky disposition.
"Lemonleap," he murmured beneath his breath, excitement pounding through his veins. "I did it!" He smiled widely, turning around and wading back into the crowd. Soon he was showered by the welcome of his Clanmates, for he wasn't who he used to be. Lemonpaw was no more; Lemonleap stood before them. He felt older, too, more mature and, having learned more, it was no surprise. Tonight he would sleep in the scouts' den for the first time.

COCONUTFALL — with Lemonleap - ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·Just before the newly named Lemonleap could walk away, Coconutfall spoke with him once more. He waved his tail for the tom’s attention, knowing how easy it was to get absorbed in all the cheering. ”Celebrate now and enjoy your Flower Night, but when cats begin to leave and head back to their dens to sleep you’re still required to do your Ocean Watch.” He paused as a thought crossed his mind. Typically the former apprentice’s mentor would take them down to the beach so that they could begin their silent vigil down by the Ocean’s shore, but sadly Turtlestream was still out of commission. The boa attack had done quite the number on the molly. Rather than fall into that pit of worrisome thoughts, Coconutfall quickly came upon a decision. ”I’ll take you to the shores later. Come find me if I haven’t found you by the celebration’s end.” With a quick nod and a warm smile toward Lemonleap, the oracle stepped back to allow the new scout to take in the celebrations and enjoy his moment.

K I W I P A W The question bought him time to actually listen to the ceremony. In the moment of silence that followed, Kiwipaw swiveled his ears forward, struggling to pay attention Coconutfall's words. He kept his eyes trained on Lemonpaw when Whitepaw spoke again. Not missing a beat, he whispered back without looking, "Really? I was thinking Whiteflower." A smirk crept across his muzzle. "A name that's pretty and delicate. Like you." He leaned away before she could swat him with her tail.
Becoming thoughtful again, Kiwipaw glanced down at the white patch on his chest. It was sort of shaped like a heart if you squinted. And his friends were always telling him what a big heart he had, though he was pretty sure that was just a nice way of saying he was too sensitive. Still, Kiwiheart had a nice ring to it. So did Kiwifeather. He'd never been sure if his parents had named him after the fruit or the bird. His jaws parted, about to respond with his ideas, when Coconutfall announced Lemonpaw's new name to the Clan.
"Lemonleap! Lemonleap! Lemonleap!" Kiwipaw called out, adding his voice to the chorus of cheers rising around him. Normally he'd wait until the crowd had thinned instead of pushing his way to the front, but he always felt more confident with Whitepaw, and as Lemonleap's former denmates he figured they should be the first ones to greet the new warrior. He stood and flicked her with his tail. "C'mon, let's go give him our congratulations!"
S T O R M S U R F with redwave | calm falls @ Feathertalon Stormsurf turned his head back to Coconutfall and Lemonpaw. Though his attention appeared to be on the ceremony, he kept Redwave in his peripheral vision, glancing at him when he wasn't looking his way. The other tom was so expressive. That was something that didn't come naturally to Stormsurf, something he had to work at; he preferred to keep his emotions under lock and key, wearing a mildly interested smirk at all times. Some nights, when he worked late in the healers' den and almost everyone had gone to sleep, forcing him to be alone with his thoughts, he worried that he had forgotten how to feel. If he'd ever known how to begin with. He'd wanted to be a healer once, as passionate as the next young apprentice, but in the moons that passed he was slowly losing the reason why.
"Scheming face," the blue tom commented, observing his companion deep in thought. He could probably spend an hour tracking the subtler expressions on Redwave's face and not get bored, especially when the hunter was plotting something. At his nod, Stormsurf followed his gaze to where Jacarandabloom, Pearlwave, and Batpaw stood. He sucked in a breath. "Sure, if you do the talking." He had to admit he wasn't exactly looking forward to that conversation. Redwave's prickly sister was a fireball that blazed up and down and sideways if you looked at her wrong, and Stormsurf preferred not to play with fire -- unless it was handsome and had red fur and amber eyes. "That 'paw might pose a problem, though. Apprentices don't have a spectacular reputation for keeping secrets. Even if he wants to join us, he might get overexcited and tell all his little friends."
Stormsurf paused as the Clan erupted into cheers for Lemonleap. The ceremony was ending; time to go mingle. Once the clamor subsided, he continued with a swish of his tail, "Why don't we go find Jellysplash or Reedshark, like you suggested? We can come back to Jacarandabloom and Pearlwave later, once that apprentice is gone."

Coppershore with Coralstep calm falls A shiver ran down the stocky orange tom's spine when their tails twined together. Any kind of affection he received from Coralstep could drive him crazy, but he had to hold it together. There were others around after all, and not that he cared if others saw their PDA, but during things like naming ceremonies he tried to be respectful. "Whatever you'd like to do, my love. Hibiscus picking sounds like fun, but I can't promise I'll be able to pay attention. Your beauty is just so distracting." Coppershore spoke with a deep purr, following the large molly as they shifted towards the middle of the crowd. He sat and kept their tails woven, even leaning into her side still.
His blue and green eyes lifted to now focus on Coconutfall as he called Lemonpaw forward. Something fluttered in his chest, the feeling always the same whenever he watched an apprentice earn their name. A feeling of eagerness as he thought back to his own naming ceremony long ago, and then enthusiasm as he witnessed the usual pride on the apprentice's face when they heard their new name for the very first time. A bright smile broke out on Coppershore's face as Coconutfall leapt down to meet Lemonpaw, then announced his new name.
"Lemonleap! Lemonleap! Lemonleap!" The orange tabby called out with as much gusto as he could. As Lemonleap joined the crowd again, he leaned over and pressed his nose to the younger scout's shoulder when he passed them. After things seemed to calm down, Coppershore turned to his mate and leaned up to give her cheek a lick. "Shall we go now?"
Littlefoam with Parrotcall calm falls Littlefoam turned her face away from Parrotcall as he looked over the crowd. Her head and shoulders swayed side-to-side as she tried to look over the cats in front of them, trying to get a view of what was going on. It was harder to see once Coconutfall had leapt down from the branch to meet Lemonpaw. Well then, if she couldn't see then she would at least try to listen to the rest of the ceremony, which was proving to be difficult because Parrotcall was a little more than distracting. Her ear swiveled towards him as he whispered, his breath warm against her fur. His low tone was also soothing, if only his words didn't throw her into such a tizzy.
The black-and-white molly's head snapped to look incredulously at Parrotcall. She might've taken him for his word, believing that he actually had come up with some herbal concoction, but the familiar mischievous glint in his eyes easily gave the tom away. A charmed smile stretched across her face. "Funny, you almost had me there, but I should know not to take your word when you're only teasing me. Shame on you." Littlefoam's tail uncurled so she could poke him with it. Despite brushing off his compliments, they didn't fall on deaf ears. How could she not be flattered when he was calling her perfect and lovely? Only Parrotcall had sweet nothings to give to everyone, so at this point his flattery didn't feel so special anymore. The healer almost looked away when he suddenly asked about her apprentice. "Well, Windpaw he's-"
Lemonleap! Lemonleap! Lemonleap!
Littlefoam jumped, startled by the cheering around them. They'd missed the apprentice-turned-scout's name announcement just like that. "Lemonleap!" Her faltered call was about all she could do to make up for it. The crowd began to disperse, going back to the clumps the were in before. Littlefoam's amber eyes searched the sea of pelts for the familiar gold of Sunchaser, but after a couple of sweeps she gave up and turned her attention back on the tom beside her. "Looks like that's it, I believe this must mean your duty is over." She wouldn't admit it, but Littlefoam would be a little saddened to see Parrotcall go. They didn't have a lot of chances to talk as frequently as they used to. Feeling particularly brave for once, the shorter healer kneaded the ground and couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye, so she focused on his nose instead. "Unless you'd like to stay?"
Pearlwave with Jacarandabloom & Batpaw calm falls Catching the look of disbelief that Jacarandabloom gave her as she inspected her silvery blue fur, Pearlwave couldn't help but give a wide grin. The corners of her lips nearly reached her yellow eyes. Seemed that the touchy scout had picked up what she was putting down. Not to mention that she definitely didn't miss the way that Batpaw had desperately tried to change the subject, not even attempting some sort of comeback. Pearlwave wouldn't lie, it felt pretty good to win. Sure, she was easy-going, but the hunter possessed some kind of backbone. She wasn't about to let Batpaw get away with trying to embarrass her.
Her delight picked up even more when finding a hibiscus was mentioned, and for a moment she thought that Jacarandabloom looked excited only for her face to twist into a scowl. That made Pearlwave frown as well, her ears flattening like she'd just been scolded. Before she opened her mouth to argue, the pale blue molly looked over Jacarandabloom once more. The diluted tortie wasn't holding herself as tall and proud as she usually did, her body hunched in a way that Pearlwave could only assume was easiest for her to sit and manage the pain. Perhaps being injured had discouraged the scout, and it was easier for her to show discontent rather than disappointment. "I did, but now I think I'd rather stay with Jacarandabloom. Gotta keep an eye on her anyways. If we took her hibiscus hunting then I'm sure she'd try to run off on her own." She offered Batpaw an apologetic smile. "That shouldn't discourage you from going. I think I saw Ripplepaw run off not too long ago, maybe you should try and catch up to her?
As if she was trying to find Ripplepaw herself, Pearlwave lifted her chin and looked over the scattered crowd of cats. Doing so made her catch the eye of Stormsurf just across the falls, the look of surprise on his face was hard to make out, but she managed to register his expression before looking away. She could feel her cheeks warm and she found herself staring at Jacarandabloom as her thoughts raced. Why had Stormsurf looked their way? Was he talking about the two of them to Redwave? Were they gossiping? did Redwave mention how much time she'd been spending with his sister lately? Was he onto her? Question after question bounced around in the hunters head, and the faraway look in her eyes was a clear giveaway that she had completely checked out.

Lemonleap
Lemonleap nodded, a new surge of excitement coursing through his fur as Coconutfall reminded him of his Ocean Watch. As soon as it was mentioned, though, he thought of Turtlestream, his heart clutched by the claws of an impossible dread. He'd missed his mentor a lot, but life had had to go on. He'd have to look at it from the brighter side, anyway; at least he'd proven to his mentor he could do many things, with her or without her.
He waded deeper into the crowd, having been showered by the echo of his new name. Now, he wanted to find his apprentice friends - maybe show off a bit. He was never too flashy, he pondered, so it wouldn't hurt.

"Whatever you say... everyday, you just get more handsome!" Despite her amusing tone, her eyes held a deep adoration for her mate. She truly did love her family and, more then anything, she wanted them to be happy.
"Lemonleap! Lemonleap," she meowed, her voice blending into the the crowds' shouting. She watched as Lemonleap bounced lightly, his eyes dazzling like two round stars. The sight brought a chuckle to the molly, and she remembered her own prideful gaze once she had been given her name, as well as when her own kits had received their names. She couldn't be prouder..
"You know... he reminds me a bit of you," she murmured, standing up in response to her mate's question. "Especially when we we're young." She smiled, twitching her left ear in an attempt to rid it of a leaf.

with yoko rob lucci's wife "Ah," she breathed, eyes darting from corner to corner of the broad territory. At last she encountered a smaller thicket, green and extremely appealing to a tired cat. "This is okay. We can stay here."
Cassia pushed through the thick branches until she reached the middle of the thicket. It was dark, the trees and bushes were thick and the grass beneath her paws was perfectly soft, soft enough to sleep peacefully. Yet she faltered, turning to face Yoko.
"This is still Basilguy's territory. We should disguise our scent," she said, her voice but a mere whisper in the quiet thicket. She sat down, a thoughtful expression on her face. "We should use garlic!"

Windpaw
with open
"Nice day, isn't it.. wait, it's night," muttered Windpaw awkwardly, unease crawling into his pelt as he spoke. It wasn't usual for Jaggedscar, his older brother, to talk to him. Actually, Windpaw was sure he had had but a few conversations with the jet black tom, ever since he was born. Yet the tom decided to attempt getting closer to his sibling, as he had sat down next to him during the naming ceremony of Lemonleap.
Unfortunately, Jaggedscar wasn't in the mood to talk. He grunted something beneath his breath before stomping away angrily, leaving the poor healer-to-be confused. He sighed, his big ears flopping downwards. It had really been a troublesome day for him. He'd messed up, and managed to give Littlefoam coriander instead of brahmi; except that, he had effectively shaken the already dazed and confused Saltwhisker, by claiming Swiftsplash had received a bite from a boa - he'd not known it was old news...
He sighed again, his eyes darting from side to side in an attempt to find Mothpaw, his sister. But she was nowhere to be found, leaving Windpaw alone, with the opportunity to socialize... but he quickly told himself no. He'd decided to go looking for his littermate instead.
Right as he finished pondering and gathered all the courage he'd had to rise to his paws, he felt a light tail tip on his shoulder. Oh no.

BRIGHTCLAW — with Troutwhisker - moonclaw400Brightclaw was among one of the first to call Lemonleap’s new name. She stood tall in the crowd, making sure to look at the newly appointed scout as she called his name. She was beyond excited for the tomcat, her fur ruffed along her spine from the enthusiasm that coursed through her body. ”Lemonleap is such a good name!” She exclaimed as she turned to look at Troutwhisker, beaming with joy. ”I’ve got a new denmate! I’ll have to make sure he’s welcomed. I should make a nest for him in the scouts’ den. I wonder where he’d wanna sleep. Or maybe I should get him a big fish to eat! If he likes fish…and I’m not sure I can really fish all that well…” She trailed off with a shuffle of her paws against the ground. Scouting was what she did best. Fishing had never been a strong suit of Brightclaw’s, but for the sake of Lemonleap feeling welcomed she would do just about anything. If it made him feel welcomed she would go so far as to pick herbs and bring them back to him, though she doubted she’d be able to bring the new scout anything that was worth his while. That’s when another idea popped into her mind. ”We can find a hibiscus for him, too! There’s gotta be enough to share with Coralstep, Coppershore, Aniselight, Mosslight, and Lemonleap! I know they’re supposed to be rare and all, but surely there’s a big bush full of ‘em somewhere,” Brightclaw mewed, voice now full of thought. Getting up to her full height she looked across Calm Falls and toward the undergrowth, observing the bushes and trees. ”Think that’s a good place to start?” She asked Troutwhisker with a nod to where she was looking. WHITEPAW — with Kiwipaw - Tealraven & Lemonleap - ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·Kiwipaw was smart to have moved away from Whitepaw when he did. Her action was not of malice as she reached over to swat at him, her paw hitting only air. Admittedly Whiteflower was a pretty name, but it wasn’t the name for Whitepaw. She was anything but delicate and there was no way she would ever receive such a fragile sounding name. Coconutfall was dumb, but not even the brown tabby would make the mistake of naming the scout apprentice something like Whiteflower. ”That would be like naming you Kiwifang,” the molly snarked, eyes rolling humorously. Whitepaw was curious about what name Kiwipaw thought he would actually receive. She waited for an answer, intrigued on what the brown tom would tell her, but before he could say anything Lemonpaw’s ceremony was coming to a close as his new name was finally announced to the entire Clan. Whitepaw perked her ears forward as Coconutfall promoted the tom. Cheers broke out all around them. ”Lemonleap! Lemonleap!” Whitepaw’s voice echoed alongside the rest of the Clan. Lemonleap was a good name for the tom. It had a powerful ring to it yet also carried a soft elegance to it that matched the tomcat’s overall spirit. If Coconutfall was good at one thing it was naming cats. Whitepaw followed after Kiwipaw. She held herself tall as she shouldered her way through the cheering crowd. ”Lemonleap!” Whitepaw called directly to the new scout, eager to congratulate him directly. ”Hey, you’re a full blown scout now!” The white and brown tabby called once catching a glimpse of Lemonleap’s own tabby and white pelt among the gathered crowd of cats congratulating him. REDWAVE — with Stormsurf - Tealraven & Reedshark - 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢There was something about Stormsurf’s comment that paused Redwave in his steps. Clearly it was the healer who had the higher level in charisma, both the tomcats knew that, so why did Stormsurf instantly tell Redwave that he would need to do the talking if they spoke with Jacarandabloom and her group? Was Stormsurf perhaps afraid of Jacarandabloom? The thought was amusing, the hunter’s whiskers twitching with a bout of silent laughter. The torbie scout could be sharp-tongued and full of fire, but that had never been a problem for Redwave. The two had had their spats, as all siblings were prone to, but never once had he feared his sister. In his mind being afraid of her was as dumb as being afraid of a fly. They could be annoying at times, but they weren’t a threat to any cat’s life. ”You can leave the talking to me,” he replied with a nonchalant tone. Jacarandabloom was nothing to be afraid of. Yet Stormsurf did have a point. Batpaw posed a threat to them in the sense that he could easily go around and spread word of what the healer and hunter were up to. Perhaps it would be best to circle back around to his sibling and her newfound friend. Surely Batpaw wouldn’t stick with them the entire night, neither were his mentor and there were plenty of other apprentices he could spend his time with. With the ceremony now coming to an end the gathered cats were beginning to spread themselves out and head their separate ways, groups pairing up to look for hibiscus flowers or to wade in the pool and relax for the night. Redwave caught the eye of a few Clanmates, yet none interested him until he spotted a sudden flash of brown in-between the flashes of other pelt colors. ”Reedshark!” Redwave called out, gesturing with a flick of his head for the tom to join him and Stormsurf. If he remembered correctly the scout had eyed the two earlier, before Lemonleap’s ceremony, and if his memory served him correctly then it should be easy to get the scout interested in what they had to say.
