Pearlwave with Batpaw calm falls Pearlwave had almost forgotten just how abrasive Batpaw could be, then again she didn't spend much time with the apprentices, let alone a scout's apprentice. She could only smile awkwardly when he glared at her, feeling like she'd just gotten scolded. Maybe making new friends was going to be harder than she thought. She had gone to step forward, to follow after Batpaw, but froze when they locked eyes. "Ah, that is kind of a problem." Pearlwave responded before stepping over the root he had to jump over.
"Maybe you could give your flower to your mentor, Sandheart? I'm sure she'd appreciate it." At the mention of the pale ginger molly, Pearlwave had a fleeting thought of how Batpaw might feel about the scandal his mentor was involved in. Her tail flickered and she took in a deep breath when they finally joined the others surrounding Calm Falls. She smiled more genuinely at the apprentice. "You could absolutely keep it for yourself, if you wanted. Could bring you some luck!"
The fluffy molly headed towards the edge of the shallow pool, looking back to the young tom before she got too far. "You can sit with me, if you'd like. Until you get bored, or find someone better to talk to."

Yoko // with Cassia ( ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ ·) - Yoko bit his lip, tasting his sweet blood as he realized he bit into it too hard. He couldn't help doing that because the fight had cost him his strength. Trying to follow the calico in front of him had been a struggle as he could barely move his paws without a tense burning sensation appearing in his shoulders and legs. " I've always hated that Basil cat. He has only been bringing trouble since I met him! Are all these clan cats so stuck up?" The white cat hissed quietly in pain as he felt like talking was also draining the little strength he had left. His dirty white fur glistened in the moonlight as he awkwardly hopped. He had been secretly hoping to go back to the two-leg nest the two had found earlier. " Hey Cassia," he looked at the she-cat with sorrow as the only moonlight highlighted the thick red blood coming out of her wounds," Are we heading back to that two-leg nest?" He hadn't recognized the territory they were walking in, but all he knew was that they were possibly far from the comfort of the two-leg nest. " If we find a hollow tree trunk or some bush, we should rest. My legs are giving out. "

Batpaw // with Pearlwave ( 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 ) - Batpaw flinched when Pearlwave mentioned his mentor Sandheart. " Oh, Sandheart?" the tom froze in his tracks and looked behind his shoulder, " I haven't seen her for a while..." Sorrow flooded his eyes. Although he knew that Sandheart was in a deep clan affair, he still felt like there was no excuse for not training him. The cat was afraid of his ability being stunted as he hasn't trained for what felt like moons. He coughed before quickly looking forward again and continuing walking. Batpaw couldn't help but let out a quiet chuckle when he heard her mention luck. " Even if I had one, I'm not sure if it'll bring me any luck." Batpaw followed Pearlwave and he stood above the water, eyeing his reflection. " I don't have anyone else to talk to tonight, so I guess I'll stay by you tonight," the cat blinked before looking at the molly with mischievous eyes ," About hibiscus flowers, are you planning to give any cat here one? I'm sure you have a special cat on your mind." The scout apprentice loved teasing the idea that he knew the secrets of other cats somehow, despite him just simply saying nonsense that would fluster any cat.

Brightclaw »
”That's awfully heroic of her, staying behind while everybody else celebrates Flower Night,” Brightclaw pointed out as if in awe of Mosslight. Truth be told she was in some way. Flower Night was important to the scout. It was her favorite night, something she looked forward to every moon. Not going was something she couldn’t see for herself as it was the main time she could mingle with more than just fellow scouts and get to know her Clanmates better. A newfound respect for Mosslight came over Brightclaw. No cat wanted to stay behind while others got to enjoy themselves, but there were still some injured cats left in camp and leaving the camp unguarded was most definitely a bad idea.
As Coconutfall led the cats outside of camp Brightclaw nudged Troutwhisker gently. Still pressed against him she began following the others outside. ”Let’s bring her back a flower if we find one. She’s doing a lot of hard work just so everybody else can enjoy their night.” It would be a shame for all of Mosslight’s hard work to not be appreciated.
Illuminated by the silvery moonlight Brightclaw stood tall. Her tail lashed, an aura of determination washing over her. ”Yeah, we’re gonna find her something and bring it back to her.” The scout threw a determined smile toward Troutwhisker. They were going to find something good to bring back for Mosslight, Brightclaw was determined.

Brightclaw »
A loud purr vibrated against her throat. She flicked her tail upward, joyful at the praise yet not allowing it to get to her head. Inflating her pride was not part of Brightclaw's ways.
At the mention of Aniselight, Brightclaw looked around her and Troutwhisker. "I'd love to help her out if we cross paths tonight. I mean, we usually do, we're pretty close as littermates, so I don't see why we wouldn't see each other tonight. Maybe with you there helping out we can find a hibiscus tonight!" The excitement of that thought carried her on as the Clan slipped through the small opening of foliage that lay between forest and pool. Moonlight streamed down brighter in the clearing of the Calm Falls, the moon's reflection shining even brighter than ever. Brightclaw had to squint her eyes against the light until they adjusted.

JACARANDABLOOM healers' den / with lilypool Jacarandabloom lazily peered around her sister's shoulder. She was not really that interested in what Lilypool was fidgeting with, but when the faint aroma of vanilla wafted over her nest, her tail stopped flicking. It was her mother's scent. A scent she had not been around for some time now. She thought Vanillabloom might have come to check on her that day she'd stumbled into the healers' den, supported on both sides by Lilypool and Pearlwave, or maybe it had been the day after that - the memories were fuzzy. She wished she could remember more clearly. She wished she'd been able to talk to her. She wished a lot of things. Jacarandabloom hadn't spoken to her mother since Coconutfall betrayed them; had avoided her because she was afraid that Vanillabloom wouldn't want her, wouldn't want anything to do with Coconutfall, and would cast her kit aside as easily as Coconutfall had.
When Lilypool placed the wilted vanilla flower into a discard pile, something fragile in Jacarandabloom's chest shuddered, deep beneath the layers of resentment and fury she'd piled up to keep it hidden.
She swallowed and looked away as Lilypool turned toward her, before the healer could see what had flickered in the scout's oddly-colored eyes. She slid deeper into her nest, preparing herself for the inevitable no, but it didn't come. Instead, Jacarandabloom's ears perked up in surprise and she whipped her head toward her sister. "Wait, what? Serious?" She sat up and stretched gingerly. She couldn't believe her luck! I must have looked extra pitiful today. But she wouldn't look a gift-cat in the mouth. No, if she did something stupid and broke Lilypool's trust tonight, she'd never be allowed out of the healers' den again. The scout stood, grimacing as she waited for the initial wave of pain to pass -- the pain that came with movement after being still for too long -- and stepped over the edge of the nest. "I will. I'll find Pearlwave or somebody. I promise." She started toward the exit, then paused. After a moment's hesitation, Jacarandabloom leaned over and touched her nose to Lilypool's shoulder in a rare gesture of affection. "Thank you, Lilypool. Try to... try not to overwork yourself tonight, okay? You deserve a break, too."
KIWIPAW calm falls / with whitepaw
"True." Kiwipaw grinned. There was no point to Whalespirit or any other mentors keeping the healer apprentices behind when only a few cats were staying in camp. Plus, he was starting to feel like he'd earned this break. The pride that warmed the normally humble tom's chest was an unfamiliar feeling, but not unpleasant. He kept it to himself, though. He knew that if he told Whitepaw about what he'd accomplished with the mites and the neem it would be totally lost on her, even if she might try to pretend otherwise. But Butterflypaw might be interested! Surely she'd appreciate his breakthrough - if they could find her first. "Let's go see if we can find her."
As he padded along beside his friend, he noticed the narrow look she gave the Oracle and the apprentices gathered around him. He wasn't sure how to interpret it. Would she rather hang out with her siblings and her dad tonight? Or was she glad to have his company as a distraction? Whitepaw usually told him everything, but he didn't actually know how she had been affected by the... news. Assuming that she'd talk about it when she was ready, he hadn't wanted to pry, and then it had slipped his mind completely when the boa trouble began and mites took over the Clan. "So, uh, how have Lionpaw and Tigerpaw been?" he ventured. "I haven't hung out with them since the last group training session."

STORMSURF calm falls / with redwave
The look on Redwave's face as the hunter beheld the vivid red hibiscus was everything Stormsurf had hoped for. He could almost see the gears turning in the red tabby tom's head as he pawed the flower toward him. His answering glance was puzzled, but even more puzzling was the warmth that bloomed in Stormsurf's own eartips at those roiling amber eyes. Odd. Unable to bring himself to admit that he'd found the flower by happenstance while picking herbs that afternoon, he cocked his head at the hibiscus, musing aloud. "An omen? As in, this sacred flower, so rare to come by, revealed itself to me because of my loyalty to you, our one true leader?" He chuckled, flicking his tail. "Ooh, that's not bad, actually! Maybe we can use that. Engineer it so that hibiscus flowers only appear when you're around. Then they'd have to see you're the real deal."
Stormsurf took a step backward so he wouldn't have to tilt his head up to meet Redwave's gaze. Redwave wasn't a large cat, but he was taller than the lanky healer once he rose to his full height. He tried not to look too impressed. "I said I would bring you names, not bodies," he corrected. "I thought you should be the one to reveal your grand plan, not me." This was the information-gathering phase. He'd done as he'd promised and felt pretty confident he'd done it well, but it was not for Stormsurf to decide who to invite and who to exclude; no, the next steps should be determined by Redwave. Let him take the names and do as he wished with them. He lowered his voice as their Clanmates spilled into the moonlight, gathering at the edges of the pool and around the base of the falls. "I can tell you who's on our side and who might take a little more convincing. Quite a few of our Clanmates are neutral at the moment. More than I thought, actually. You might be surprised."

SUNCHASER calm falls / with littlefoam At the black-and-white healer's reassuring touch, Sunchaser looked up, smile returning. A delighted purr rumbled through the golden scout's broad chest. She was so lucky to have such a sweet, supportive friend like Littlefoam, a friend who never got impatient or frustrated with her, even when she got too excited. Which happened often. When other cats looked upon Sunchaser and saw an airheaded nuisance, Littlefoam, by some miracle, saw only a dear friend. She would never not be grateful for the other molly. "Oh, good! I'm so glad you're in my life," she said with heartfelt sincerity. She fell into step beside Littlefoam, careful not to bump her this time, and eagerly listened to the healer recount the events of that week.
"That's so crazy!" Sunchaser was laughing at something Littlefoam had said when they reached the Calm Falls. She had some idea of how hectic a healer's life could be; for as long as they'd been warriors, Parrotcall had vented his frustrations to her or confided in her when stress and sleeplessness began to wear on him. It was the only time her brother allowed himself to be anything other than a light-hearted tease. In fact, it was the only time they got to enjoy each other's company at all outside of Flower Nights. Sunchaser scanned the crowd for the tom's distinctive colorpoint coat. Around them, their Clanmates dispersed into pairs and groups, the balmy night air lively with conversation. "Hey, do you know if Parrotcall came tonight? Or is he one of the healers who stayed behind?"
ANISELIGHT calm falls / with coppershore
Dragging her gaze away from Brightclaw, Aniselight's half-smile faded, her usual grimace a little more genuine as her father jogged to catch up to her. Still, she slowed her pace, giving him a chance to catch his breath. She tried not to notice how much he was huffing and puffing. She twitched an ear in his direction and dipped her head once, a greeting that was downright friendly coming from her. "Hi, Dad." Her frosty blue eyes skimmed the bobbing heads and tails around the falls, hoping to spot Coralstep among them. Her mother's jet-black fur was decidedly harder to spot at night. "No, not yet." She gave Coppershore a sidelong glance. "Are you asking me to go look for her?" She was glad her parents were a loving, supportive couple, but watching them gaze at each other like lovesick apprentices all night was not her idea of fun evening. Though it might be a convenient way for her to escape Coppershore's attention for a little while. Or maybe she should go check in with Brightclaw, make sure she hadn't dumped Troutwhisker into the water or something - it wouldn't be the first time such a thing had happened with her sister.

Coconutfall »
There was a part of Coconutfall that wanted to call out to Lionpaw and invite her back. He wanted to tell her that she was more than welcome to stick around and watch him perform the naming ceremony alongside Tigerpaw, but he stopped himself before he could even think of the words to say. His daughter probably had other cats she would much rather be around than him and the last thing he wanted was for her to feel forced to be around him. Coconutfall knew most of his children wanted nothing to do with him anymore, he didn’t quite blame them for that. How would he have felt if Palmshade had a secret mate on the side and named one of those kits as oracle? … Honestly, he would have been relieved. There would have been no pressure on him to be perfect. Maybe his mother would have been with some cat she could actually love. Perhaps things would have been better that way. He could have been with Sandheart from the start. Some other cat who wanted to lead the Clan would be oracle right now. Vanillabloom would be with a loving mate that could give her their entire heart. Coconutfall drooped as these thoughts swarmed him. He shook his head, knowing that now was not the time to get lost in such daydreams.
”So how does it start? The naming ceremony?” Tigerpaw asking questions jolted Coconutfall out of his reverie. The older tabby glanced toward his son, unable to stop himself from smiling upon seeing true curiosity covering Tigerpaw’s face.
Coconutfall nodded toward a low lying branch nearby. It stretched across the pool, high above the water, its width just thick enough that no cat had to worry about falling off. ”Follow my lead.” The oracle stepped upward onto a flat rock before bunching his muscles and then leaping onto the branch. He turned once perched, watching as Tigerpaw followed without any hesitation.
Tigerpaw turned to his father, beaming. ”This must be how a bird feels,” he breathed in excitement, now looking away to draw his eyes across the scene.
It was beautiful, Coconutfall thought. The forest lay in front of them bathed in a silvery light as the lulling melody of the falls nearby created a soothing rhythm across the area. Despite everything that had been going on, this place made all those worries go away.
With calm nerves and a sure decision made, Coconutfall drew in his breath and called, ”Cats of HibiscusClan! Thank you for joining me under the full moon’s light. I ask that before you split into individual groups for us to celebrate an apprentice’s graduation. Lemonpaw, please step forward.” Coconutfall scanned across the crowd of cats in search of Lemonpaw, waiting for the young tom to show himself.
Brightclaw »
Once her eyes had gotten used to the sharper light of the moon, Brightclaw stepped all the way into the clearing. The gentle rush of water echoed in her ears, a soothing sound that was sure to calm even Scarmaw herself. While Brightclaw wasn’t on edge and hadn’t been this entire day, she still felt the muscles along her back loosen as unknown tension softened throughout her physique. Calm Falls was always a soothing area, but under the light of a full moon it was beyond peaceful.
While Brightclaw wanted to look for hibiscus flowers, she decided that for now she was going to relax and take a moment to rest. A border patrol and then being the scout for another patrol today had been a tiresome job, especially with every cat still on alert thanks to the boa. The boa was dead, yes, confirmed to be deceased after Jacarandabloom and her patrol had slain the beast, but that didn’t mean concern over the snake had vanished. There was talk of more cat-eating boas being out there, and from what Brightclaw had heard from boa patrol members themselves there had been eggs left behind. Brightclaw wondered if those eggs would hatch and turn into deadly boas just like its mother or father before it.
Before Brightclaw could say anything, the call for all cats to gather rang across the clearing. Brightclaw perked her ears and looked upward to see Coconutfall perched atop a branch with Tigerpaw beside him. She leaned forward to nudge Troutwhisker. ”Oh, looks like Lemonpaw is going to be named a scout! Come on, we gotta sit up front to congratulate him first!” Again she nudged the tom only a bit more forcefully this time before she bounded as close to where Coconutfall and Tigerpaw were yet leaving just enough room for Lemonpaw to have his moment.

Whitepaw »
While typically one to be quick in her actions Whitepaw walked on slow paws, careful to pick out each and every individual pelt that flashed nearby in the dim moonlight. Not once did Whitepaw catch a glimpse of Butterflypaw’s pretty calico pelt. A sigh escaped her, clearly disappointed in not finding the healer apprentice with ease. There was no telling where Butterflypaw could be, and for all Whitepaw and Kiwipaw knew the molly was stuck inside the healers’ den forced to skip Flower Night and tend to those who were too ill or injured to attend. The scout apprentice didn’t plan on giving up, though. She was never one to stop her mission halfway through. Determination was a strong point of hers, a stubbornness that wouldn’t allow her to quit thick in her blood. If Butterflypaw was anywhere around then Whitepaw would be sure to find her.
However, she was distracted from her hunt as Kiwipaw brought forth a question.
Whitepaw whipped her gaze toward the brown tom, surprise bright in her eyes. It wasn’t a question she had been expecting. Kiwipaw must have noticed her staring at her littermates and their father. He was observant like that while she was not one to be subtle. ”Tigerpaw’s eager to learn and have some kind of bond with Coconutfall. Lionpaw’s…angry. I don’t think she knows I’ve realized it, but I can see the tension in how she walks and how she looks at Coconutfall. I won’t be surprised if she never accepts him as our father.” Whitepaw wouldn’t blame her if she never did. Her own feelings about the brown tabby were complicated - she didn’t even know how she felt about the tom. At times looking at him boiled her blood while other times he didn’t seem all that bad, just a misguided cat forced to carry too many responsibilities. But now wasn’t the time for sympathy. Whitepaw swallowed down whatever pity she harbored toward her father as she slipped out of camp and toward Calm Falls. Within moments the gentle lapping of water echoed from nearby. Whitepaw took in the sounds of Calm Falls, drawing in a deep breath.
Before she could get too comfortable her attention was once again turned toward Coconutfall. Perched above the pool was the brown tabby accompanied by Tigerpaw. Whitepaw perked her ears forward when Lemonpaw was mentioned. He was getting his scout name? Whitepaw supposed Tigerpaw had mentioned something about that… ”Do you think we’ll be getting our names soon?” Whitepaw asked her companion quietly. Afterall she had taken on the boa quite valiantly while Kiwipaw had helped cure the Clan of the bugs. They had served their Clan well while still being young, that deserved a promotion, or at the very least some kind of recognition.
Redwave »
If there was anything that Redwave wanted it was recognition. He wanted to be recognized as the son of the oracle, the rightful son. He wasn’t some stupid illegitimate kit that came from some secret affair hidden away in the shadows. He was the result of what the Ocean wanted. He, along with his littermates, were the rightful possible heirs for the throne, and there was no way Redwave was going to stand by and let some minnow-brained apprentice take what was supposed to be his. It would be wrong for him to say he wasn’t enjoying the attention and praise that he was receiving from Stormsurf, but he also had to admit that the healer was laying it on a little too thick for his taste. It was somewhat ridiculous, and he was sure the distaste was written all over his face yet most of what appeared on his visage was appreciation. ”It sounds decent enough. A bit flowery,” pun intended, ”for my taste. Good try, though.” He would give Stormsurf that at least.
There was something in that that did spark something within Redwave. His bobbed tail twitched, eyes narrowing into thought. ”Perhaps we could do something with the flower...” He leaned down to nudge the flower delicately. Even in the moon’s light the petals blazed with a fierce scarlet hue. Hibiscus flowers came in a wide assortment of colors and the fact that Stormsurf had discovered a red one... ”A red hibiscus... A red HibiscusClan...”
These thoughts could have continued but it was Stormsurf’s voice that snapped Redwave out of it. He stood tall, meeting the gaze of the other tom. ”Right, right.” Momentary disappointment flickered over Redwave. He had hoped for a bit more than just names, but as Stormsurf pointed out, names was all the healer had promised him. Even still, he was curious to learn where his Clanmates stood on all this.
Picking up the flower in his jaws Redwave motioned for Stormsurf to walk with him, ears angled toward the healer to listen to the list he had offered to give. He headed closer toward the waterfall as Coconutfall called for the Clan to gather. The hunter snorted. He held no harsh feelings toward Lemonpaw, but the apprentice’s naming ceremony wasn’t in his interests at the moment.

Lilypool »
Let it be known that Lilypool was waiting for Jacarandabloom to argue the demand that some cat needed to stay at her side at all time. Jacarandabloom was as independent as a croc was deadly. It made her a cat to look up to, some cat who knew what she was capable of and what she could do, and for all the strengths that came with being independent it had its weaknesses as well. Her independence came with a stubbornness, a stubbornness that kept her from asking for help when she needed it. Even after suffering cracked ribs the other day Jacarandabloom had insisted on getting checked last. Lilypool didn’t have any of that and instead evaluated her sister’s condition, but not without a fight from the scout. Lilypool loved her sister with all her heart, she truly did, but Jacarandabloom had been so much easier to tend to once given a dose of sleeping lady.
The objection never came. This was an honest surprise to Lilypool. Blue-purple eyes met with soft green ones as the two sisters looked at each other. It took a moment for the surprise in Lilypool’s eyes to fade into relief. Gently did a smile pull upon her countenance. Subconsciously she walked toward her sister, and within moments of noticing the grimace that came over the scout’s face Lilypool was there to offer support. She turned so that her flank was offered on the off chance that Jacarandabloom needed something to lean on. Cracked ribs was sure to hurt, especially if it was a condition that was knocking down as strong of a scout as Jacarandabloom. Seeing her sister so fragile pained Lilypool, and while she wanted to keep the dilute torbie inside the healers’ den tonight she knew it would be better for the scout to get some fresh air.
”Thank you,” Lilypool mewed with genuine honesty in her voice. ”Again, come back if you start to hurt. I’ll have herbs ready for you.” It was then she made a mental note to get a bundle of herbs ready just in case her sister did return to camp early. It would be best to get that whipped up even if Jacarandabloom managed to be comfortable enough to stay out all night. Pain would more than likely flare up at some point whether it be tonight or some other time.
Just when she thought her sister was about to leave the den, Lilypool felt the soft tip of a nose against her shoulder. The healer paused in her steps, turning her head only to see that Jacarandabloom was the one behind the gesture. Affection deeper than the Ocean itself warmed Lilypool for nose to tail-tip. Jacarandabloom expressing a tenderness such as this was almost unheard of. Lilypool purred, maneuvering herself to give the other molly a lick between her ears. ”Don’t worry about me, alright? Besides, there’s not much I’d rather be doing than this anyway,” she replied as she gestured with her tail toward the herbs she had laid out nearby. After a moment of embracing her sister Lilypool finally stepped back. Her eyes remained on Jacarandabloom’s figure, wanting to watch and make sure she could easily walk out without causing herself too much pain.

Troutwhisker hurried over with Brightclaw, sitting down close to the front in order to hear. He was usually happy for those when they recieved their full name. He looked towards the young cat, giving them a gentle nod. While he wasn't a scout, he saw the training Mosslight had to go through in their youth and was proud of the new scout.

[ calm falls & with minkesong, clovestrike, & open ] @ n/a
Nutmegblossom watched with a proud smile as Coconutfall called Lemonpaw forward, her tail tip twitching in excitement to watch the young tom receive his name. Her littermate, Clovestrike, sat next to her and purred in amusement. Nutmegblossom knew Clovestrike found it funny how much she was interested in the lives of her clanmates, how eager she was to cheer them on in their journeys and support this through their shortcoming. Even as a kit, Nutmegblossom had been motherly, always watching the younger kits play and chastising them when they got too rough.
"What do you think his name will be?" A soft, song-like voice distracted Nutmegblossom from her thoughts. Ah, Minkesong. A quiet young tom, smaller than most other toms would be. He sat near Nutmegblossom's shoulder, eyes roaming over their clanmates as he settled down. "Don't you think Lemondrop would sound nice?" Minkesong asked. Nutmegblossom recognized the joking glint in his eye, even as his lilted tone made him sound serious. Minkesong wasn't one to joke often, as shy and solitary as he was, but Nutmegblossom loved when he came out of his shell long enough to joke around.
"I think that would sound lovely," Nutmegblossom purred in response. Next to her, Clovestrike covered a small laugh with a cough, tail flicking over to touch Minkesong's shoulder. "Maybe we should make that a new game, guessing what an apprentice's name will be before they have their ceremony. I'm sure some of their mentors would love to have a chance to poke some fun," Nutmegblossom said lowly.

W A V E C R E S T Wavecrest was not exactly a social butterfly. While he appreciated having the night off, the grey-and-white hunter often hung back, neither avoiding nor seeking companionship on Flower Night. Sometimes he conversed quietly with a few other wallflowers. Sometimes he sat with his brother and tried to make him laugh by making snarky observations about the different groups of mingling cats, or simply enjoyed Crocodilefang's company in comfortable silence. The hunter's pale blue eyes searched the group for his brother's familiar brown pelt, but Crocodilefang was already lost in the tide of bodies flowing out of camp. Ah, well. Perhaps he'd run into him later.
The littermates always crossed paths eventually on Flower Night, once one or the other of them had burned out on small talk. Wavecrest preferred deep conversation or exchanging banter and friendly insults to superficial pleasantries. Other than Crocodilefang and Mosslight, however, he had yet to find anyone who held the same appreciation for it -- anyone he could call a friend. Resigning himself to yet another boring Flower Night, Wavecrest fell in behind the Clan, bringing up the rear of the pack as they all headed out to the falls.
He had to admit the excitement in the air was a welcome exchange for the tension that he'd seen tightening so many shoulders. Warm, eager anticipation lit faces that had been shadowed by doubt and fear for days. It felt good; it felt normal. The festive mood was catching. Even Wavecrest found himself wanting to join in, his own spirits buoyed by the laughter and conversation swirling around him. Bodies bumped him this way and that, and before he knew it, he wound up in the center of the group. He quickened his pace to avoid getting jostled and ran right into the cat in front of him instead, stepping on her back paws. "Ah, sorry," he muttered, backpedaling, and bumping up against the tom at her side. "Pardon me." The night was only just beginning and already he was making a fool of himself. He huffed a partly amused, partly exasperated sigh, falling back on the self-deprecating humor that emerged whenever he did something embarrassing. "For a hunter, you'd think I'd have better reflexes than that."
J A C A R A N D A B L O O M Jacarandabloom hated retreating, but now seemed like a good time to do exactly that, before she could embarrass herself any more. "Yeah, yeah," she grumbled, face and ears heating. She padded to the exit as quickly as her stiff body would allow and ducked out into the warm, breezy night.
The camp was deserted when she'd emerged from the stuffy healers' den. Everyone who hadn't gone to the Calm Falls was already tucked into their dens for the evening. Most would have found the quiet calming, peaceful, but for Jacarandabloom it only amplified all of her fears and doubts and hopes and angers. Whenever she was left alone with her thoughts, the young scout became sharply aware of the storm lurking within her at all times, the swirling typhoon that had yet to make landfall that made her mottled fur feel too tight, as if she might burst at the seams at any moment and unleash havoc on anyone in her path.
So she'd hurried up the path to the waterfall, her steps still a little awkward. She gritted her teeth against the dull ache in her side. It would get worse as the night wore on, she knew, especially if she moved about too much. She would take it easy, as Lilypool had instructed, so she could stay as long as possible before hanging her head in shame and dragging her feet back to the healers' den for her next round of bitter herbs. It wasn't the pain that bothered her the most. Five more weeks of this. Just five more weeks. Though it might as well be five moons for as long as this first week had felt.
Jacarandabloom reached the waterfall just in time to hear Coconutfall summon the Clan for a meeting. She twitched her ears as she wove through the gathered cats, trying to figure out what was going on from snippets of conversation as she passed. Sounded like an apprentice was going to get his name tonight. She wondered if it might be Lemonpaw or Creekpaw. Sidling up to Pearlwave and the prickly apprentice with her, the torbie scout slid her gaze toward her father, her pale blue eyes looking decidedly more lavender in the moonlight. "Hey," she meowed gruffly, not looking at either of them or the expressions of surprise on their faces. "What's going on?"

Flickerdawn and Finrunner both turned to look as Wavecrest bumped into them, eyes lighting up in recognition. Finrunner gave a crooked grin while Flickerdawn purred in amusement. Settling down onto her haunches, the young molly flicked Wavecrest on the shoulder with the tip of her tail.
"One would certainly think," she meowed jokingly. "How are you tonight Wavecrest? I take it your other half already disappeared among the crowd?" Flickerdawn asked, noting that she herself had yet to see Crocodilefang anywhere. Oh, well, he was surely off chatting with friends, much like the rest of her clanmates. Flickerdawn had always found it a bit strange, gathering like this simply to share tongues and relax, but as she got older she found that she was starting to understand it - the soothing atmosphere of the falls, the soft songs of nature wrapping around them, the chance to let all that tension and stress from every day life just drift away like driftwood on the ocean currents.
Flickerdawn felt a tail tap her shoulder and turned, nodding to Finrunner as her padded away to visit with some others. She could see Nutmegblossom and Clovestrike, the sisters, speaking to Minkesong. Cannadrop wasn't too far behind them, as stoic and silent as ever. One would think he was trying to disappear into the shadows.
Flickerdawn turned back to Wavecrest, smiling brightly at him as she waited for his response.

K I W I P A W Whitepaw was many things, but subtle was not one of them - a trait that, whether she liked it or not, was apparently genetic in her family. It was especially obvious whenever she avoided her feelings. She deliberately did not include herself as she spoke about her siblings, Kiwipaw noticed, which told him enough about where she stood on the topic. Well, regarding Coconutfall, at least. He wouldn't press her for answers about that. But as they approached the water, he spotted Redwave standing apart from the rest of the Clan, murmuring with a healer Kiwipaw knew only by name, Stormsurf. Redwave, Whitepaw's brother, he realized with no small amount of alarm. He glanced at his friend, who either hadn't noticed him or was intentionally ignoring the hunter's presence. It was then that another question occurred to him, but before he could voice it, Coconutfall called the Clan together.
"Lemonpaw's getting his warrior name?" Kiwipaw had been stuck in the healers' den for most of the week so this was news to him. He liked Lemonpaw -- the tom was kind and thoughtful even for a scout apprentice, and now he'd proven himself to be very brave, as well. Though he didn't think of them as friends, the two had always been cordial to one another. Maybe that would change once they were both warriors. He knew that many cats often had different friends as they got older, and some actually became closer to cats they hadn't known very well as apprentices once they were adults. Maybe he should make an attempt to get to know Lemonpaw better outside of training. He smiled as the apprentice stepped up to receive his new name. "Maybe. I mean, at the very least, we should both get some kind of recognition. E-especially you. You fought the boa, too, after all."
S T O R M S U R F with redwave | calm falls @ Feathertalon Stormsurf wrinkled his nose in a snort at Redwave's pun. Unexpected coming from someone so serious. Perhaps he should take it as a sign the hunter was slowly warming up to him. "I do try." He sketched a bow before following Redwave around the edge of the pool, his pace unhurried and tone conversational. "Tsk. Well, now, where shall I begin?" He clicked his tongue thoughtfully. "Scouts and healers are most likely to be useful to you, I assume -- er, not that hunters aren't invaluable in their own way, of course." He wasn't trying to insult Redwave -- he was indeed a skilled warrior -- but Stormsurf honestly wasn't sure what hunters could contribute to a coup. Unless... unless they could somehow be convinced to only hunt for Redwave and his supporters... starve out the competition... Hm. He'd have to think on it. Even that sounded too complicated to Stormsurf.
"I surely don't need to tell you that Jacarandabloom is on your side." Stormsurf pitied anyone who would willingly make an enemy of both Redwave and his perpetually furious scout sister. Together the two could be a force of nature. He wondered how well Redwave and Jacarandabloom got on privately, considering their strong personalities. "Reedshark, Jellysplash, Aniselight, Vinepool, and Lionpaw stand with you, though their individual reasons for doing so..." He shrugged and made a "meh" sound. He racked his brain for any other scouts or healers who would firmly support Redwave but was unable to come up with any. "Geckotail, Silvertide, Skinkstripe, and Vanillabloom also stand with you. I'm uncertain of what skills they can offer, but extra voices to vote in your favor can't hurt." Stormsurf scanned the crowd for these cats as he named them. He was only mildly interested in the proceedings of the warrior ceremony taking place, but it was a useful distraction since everyone's attention was focused on Lemonpaw and Coconutfall. "As for those who are neutral yet of a sympathetic mind, I believe Oysterfur, Crocodilefang, Pearlwave, Tsunamitail, and Sunchaser might be persuaded. And if you can get Crocodilefang and Sunchaser, you may be able to get their brothers as well." There were others Stormsurf knew of who were neutral, but these he felt should be targeted first. He fell silent, giving Redwave time to process.

Coppershore with Aniselight, then Coralstep
calm falls "Huh?" Coppershore had been trying to keep an eye out for Coralstep's familiar pelt, even more so when the father and daughter pair padded into the Calm Fall's clearing. He caught Aniselight's glance, which he returned with an affectionate smile. "Oh, no, I couldn't ask that of you. I'm sure I'll find her soon enough. You go on and have a good time with your buddies." He said, nodding to the cats that happened to be around them, as if they were Aniselight's friends. It had never occurred to Coppershore that his daughter might not have as many friends as her sister. He did know of her reclusive behavior, but surely there was someone else that she was close to, other than family. "Love you." With a quick lick to her cheek, the healer was off to go find Coralstep. He didn't have to search long after leaving his daughter's side. Coppershore recognized the lovely silhouette of his beloved just by the glittering pool.
The love he held for his daughters was abundantly clear, they each had half of his heart. The love he had for his mate, though. Well, Coralstep had completely bewitched the poor tom. Coppershore had willingly given his all to her; body, mind, and soul. Everything. His heart skipped a beat when his bi-colored eyes caught her dazzling honeyed gaze. The golden healer felt like his paws were floating on air as he slowly made his way over to the black-furred molly. The beaming moonlight made her pelt shine like starlight, and he thought to himself that she had to be the most beautiful creature he'd ever laid his eyes on.
"For a cat as gorgeously tall as you, do you have any idea how elusive you are?" Coppershore asked as he greeted Coralstep by pressing his nose to hers for a few heartbeats, then nuzzled himself right against her side. He breathed in her scent and let himself get lost in it. Tonight she smelled salty, like the sea, and he could pick up the flowery notes of sleeping lady that he used to line their nest when Coralstep had trouble sleeping. "Good thing I always seem to find you, my love."
Littlefoam with Sunchaser calm falls Between the two siblings, it was Parrotcall's flirting that she could handle most often, but it was Sunchaser's unwavering genuineness that always caught her off guard. Littlefoam never knew why it flustered her so much, but she could already feel the tips of her ears getting hot. Maybe it was because she might never understand why someone so boisterous and loveable would want to be friends with someone like her. Littlefoam didn't think she was as exciting, or adventurous as Brightclaw, and she wasn't funny like Flickerdawn. Even Nutmegblossom seemed more outgoing than her. But knowing Sunchaser after all these moons, she didn't compare or compete with her friendships. Each cat was special to the scout in their own way, and Littlefoam knew that. "I'm really glad too," and then she went on to talk about what happened after the boa patrol arrived back at camp.
The black-and-white healer found herself purring, happy to have made her friend laugh, but thinking that whatever she said couldn't have been that funny. She didn't think she was great at storytelling, but Sunchaser made her think otherwise. Littlefoam beamed up at the ginger scout, but found that her gaze was somewhere else. She looked out as well, wondering if she was trying to spot a good place for them to sit. The mention of Parrotcall made her whiskers twitch, eyes squinting as she tried to recall seeing the tom's white and golden pelt amongst the crowd of healers that were leaving for Flower Night.
"I'm pretty positive he's supposed to be here tonight. I don't remember him being on the list of cats that decided to stay behind." Now she found herself looking for her colleague as well, amber eyes flickering over the crowd. It suddenly felt important to find him since Sunchaser asked about her brother.
Pearlwave with Batpaw & Jacarandabloom calm falls Pearlwave noticed the way Batpaw flinched, suddenly feeling a little guilty for bringing up his mentor. She could only imagine how neglected he must be feeling, now that Sandheart was injured from the boa patrol. Maybe some other scout would have to take over his training while the ginger molly recovered. "Have you-..." Pearlwave stopped herself, letting her words hang in the air. Batpaw could be so moody, she figured that he wouldn't appreciate her prying more than she maybe should. So, instead she just offered a soft smile while he looked at his reflection in the water. "Have a seat, then."
Her ear twitched as she heard Coconutfall's call, turning her gaze towards oracle and neophyte as they sat side by side on the low hanging branch. An apprentice was graduating today? What an exciting and special night for one to receive their name. Her shining yellow eyes tried to make out the Lemonpaw's white and tabby coat. She nearly missed Batpaw's question. "Who, me? Have a special cat in mind? I don't know about that" Just then a particularly sweet scent wafted towards her pink nose, one that was laced with herbs from being surrounded by them for the last five days.
"Hey."
"Jacarandabloom!" Pearlwave exclaimed, startled by the scout's sudden appearance beside her, but overjoyed by it at the same time. The fluffy molly shrunk as she felt some pointed looks in her direction, as well as some feline's around them having the audacity to shush her. She threw an apologetic look their way before turning to the injured Jacarandabloom and gingerly rubbing her cheek beneath the she-cat's chin.
"Did you have to sneak out? Or by some Ocean's miracle did Lilypool let you leave?" Having a bit of a one track mind, she'd nearly forgotten Batpaw's presence. That is until she caught his mischievous expression, which made her pelt grow increasingly warm.

Batpaw // with Jacarandabloom and Pearlwave ( Tealraven , 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢) - Batpaw looked at Pearlwave, waiting to see what she was going to ask, but realized she was not going to finish her sentence. He sighed looking at his cold reflection once more before deciding to lie down. The tom dipped his small paw in the water, feeling the cold current brush his fur. His ears twitched hearing Coconutfall's voice boom. Frankly, Batpaw could care less about the promotion of some random apprentice he has never talked to. He was unsure if he was jealous of not being promoted because of the situation with his mentor Sandheart, or if he was simply in a bad mood right now. Batpaw then heard Pearlwave's tone change as she meowed out Jacarandabloom's name. He stood up and looked at the young scout that had seemed to just arrive at Calm Falls. Batpaw always felt uneasy around the scout as he felt that her presence was enough to push him into submission even though the two had never really interacted until now. The apprentice's ear stood erect and he simply dipped his head, not saying a word. He soon found something interesting. Batpaw observed Pearlwave's manners around the other scout. He let out a small laugh, knowing that this would probably make Jacarandabloom irritable. " Hmmm?" he whispered as quietly as he could, but just enough for Pearlwave to hear him," Are you sure you don't have a special cat in mind tonight?" He let out an amused purr and slight smile. His gloomy mood finally disappeared as soon as the scout appeared. Perhaps Jacarandabloom was a blessing in disguise so that he can tease Pearlwave for the rest of the night until the molly or Jacarandabloom clawed his already small ears off.

Coralstep
with coppershore 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Coralstep nodded, her black shape slouched as she bent over to nuzzle her daughter's black pelt. "Yes, yes, I'll tell you later. Off you are, now," she mewed, lightly nudging her with her muzzle. Ripplepaw padded away; she seemed to be headed toward a group of cats.
She sighed, a smile etched on her muzzle; a rare sight. Her kits had grown up so fast. She could only hope they'd be as eager to keep a close relationship with their mother as she was to keep one with them.
Suddenly a familiar scent hit her nose. It was quite sweet, with a hint of cinnamon. She recognized it immediately; it had been her mate, Coppershore. She'd always gotten the impression he was hopelessly infatuated with her, ever since apprenticehood, but she had only begun to reciprocate those feelings a couple of moons after him.
"Why, I suppose I do," she purred, a note of amusement embedded in her voice; but it was still warm and filled with love. She closed her eyes, touching noses with the golden furred healer. The molly licked his ear as he nuzzled next to her. "I'm glad you manage to (find me), too, Copper."

[ calm falls & with vanillabloom ] Feathertalon
Cannadrop wasn't quite sure what, or who, he was looking for as his eyes darted around quickly. Cats blended together as he watched them move about and chatter away as if nothing was different. As if nothing was wrong.
Cannadrop supposed, for most of them, nothing was wrong. They weren't directly affected by Coconutfall and his betrayal of their spirits, tossed to the side like yesterday's lunch so that he could parade around with his shiny new - stop, Cannadrop. You're letting Nightdapple's actions cloud your judgement. The spirits could have told Coconutfall to change things, to find a new mate. Oh, but poor Vanillabloom.
As if the mere thought of her had summoned her into existence, Cannadrop's eyes fell onto Vanillabloom, and his heart skipped. He knew her pain, knew how humiliating and broken it felt, to be the one that wasn't good enough. Before he even knew what he was doing, Cannadrop's paws were leading him over to the younger molly, tail low and head down as though he was trying to make himself smaller, like he was hoping not to scare her. And perhaps that was his intent, to seem small and approachable. He could remember Nightdapple's last words to him, echoing in the back of his mind - who could ever love such a scary looking cat, as grumpy and angry as he often was. She'd broken his heart into pieces and then left him, running off with some rogue she'd met two moons prior. Her treachery, perhaps, was her downfall, though, as just a few days later they were found dead, having been attacked by some larger predator out in the trees.
Right. Vanillabloom. That's what he was doing - checking in on a clanmate, someone who understood his hurt.
"Good evening, Vanillabloom. How - well I'd ask how are you but I suppose you're sick of that question, huh?" he asked, paired with a crooked grin as he realized he much he'd hated that question all those moons ago.

W A V E C R E S T Wavecrest looked up, surprise lighting his soft blue eyes as he beheld who he'd run into. Alright. I guess this is happening now. Seeing no other way out of the situation and not wanting to be impolite, Wavecrest took a seat beside Flickerdawn, preparing to fumble his way through small talk. He could be plenty conversational when he so desired; he just wasn't good at this part. Initiating. Keeping someone's attention long enough to really get to know them. He had almost nothing in common with the vibrant, outgoing molly at his side and thus no idea what to talk to her about. Fortunately, she seemed to be in a talkative mood tonight, so perhaps she could carry the exchange.
"Well, I wasn't on the boa patrol, so I can't complain," he replied, gently swatting her tail away with a paw as she flicked his shoulder. He met her bright smile with a faintly amused half-smile of his own. "It does seem that way, doesn't it?" He had the distinct feeling that, wherever he was tonight, Crocodilefang was probably laughing at him. "Though from where I'm sitting, it looks like you're in the same spot as me." Wavecrest glanced around Flickerdawn, expecting to see the golden fur of Sunchaser or Nutmegblossom's russet tabby pelt, but they evidently had other plans tonight. Finrunner, too, had already slipped away into the crowd, abandoning his friend to Wavecrest's stellar conversation skills. "I guess we're both stuck with each other for the evening." He couldn't imagine Flickerdawn found him all that interesting compared to the company she normally kept.
S U N C H A S E R "Oh, neat! Maybe we'll run into him tonight. Wouldn't that be grand?" Sunchaser counted herself lucky that her friends were usually her friends' friends, too. It would be hard if Nutmegblossom and Flickerdawn didn't get along, or if Littlefoam found Parrotcall's dramatics annoying -- though, to be fair, sometimes it was. And she was lucky she got along so well with her brother, too! Some littermates hated each other, always competing, but Parrotcall was her first and best friend. "He's always so busy, I really do hope he gets to take a break tonight," she carried on, eyes skimming the cats around her for one of her other companions.
Coconutfall's call snagged her attention then, drawing her gaze away from her search. The apprentice's dark fur was hard to spot at first, but after a heartbeat, her eyes adjusted and she was able to make out Tigerpaw's smaller figure beside Coconutfall. Who was his dad now. Wild. She still wasn't used to seeing them together in that context, neophyte and Oracle. Something about it didn't sit right with her, but, as she did with most of her negative emotions, she didn't bother to examine it too closely. "Ooh, is Lemonpaw getting his warrior name? He was one of the cats who fought the boa, wasn't he?" Littlefoam had listed his name when telling her about the patrol. "Do you remember when we got our names, Littlefoam? I bet he's as excited as we were! We should go cheer him on! Let's go sit by Oysterfur!"
And off she went, plowing through the crowd with her broad shoulders, clearing a path for her friend to follow. "'Scuse me, oh sorry, lemme just -- squeeze on by ya--" she meowed, trying not to jostle anyone too hard or knock them off their feet. A few of the senior warriors rolled their eyes at her, Tsunamitail even shushing her. "Hey, Oysterfur!" she called in spite of the annoyed or amused looks that followed her. "Hey," she greeted him somewhat breathlessly after bumping into Aniselight on the way, earning a glare that could freeze the tropics. Sunchaser flashed him a brilliant grin. "Isn't this exciting? I love warrior ceremonies, don't you?"
P A R R O T C A L L with littlefoam | calm falls @ R A I N Y
Surprise and excitement rippled through the gathered cats at Coconutfall's announcement. Though a few voices still whispered to one another, perhaps speculating about what the apprentice's name would be, a hush fell across the clearing -- interrupted only briefly by a certain golden scout as she pushed her way to the front. As eager as she ever was to be up where the action was happening. Parrotcall eloquently closed his eyes and sighed through his nose. One could always tell where Sunchaser was in a crowd. While Parrotcall intentionally made a big presence wherever he went, with his sister, it was almost always by accident.
"Excuse me," he murmured to the healer next to him, ducking back the way he'd come. The lanky tom wove through the tightly packed bodies to the back of the Clan. He kept one ear angled toward Coconutfall, Tigerpaw, and Lemonpaw so he could hear what was going on while his eyes sought someone else entirely. Someone who was more likely to be found on the outskirts of the action when she wasn't with her friend.
"Good evening, Littlefoam!" He purred, keeping his voice low so as not to interrupt the ceremony. Sure enough, he'd found her lingering at the edge of the clearing, looking a little lost in the wake of Sunchaser's sudden disappearance. Being a bit taller than the black-and-white healer, he dipped his head to meet her stunning amber gaze, hoping to catch her eye and distract her from her nerves. "You look so lovely as always. A molly like you should have toms falling over themselves to spend a Flower Night with you, but I suppose you'll have to settle for me instead." With a disarming smile he extended his striped ginger tail, offering an escort.
J A C A R A N D A B L O O M Just when she thought she'd recovered from embarrassing herself, burning heat bloomed in the diluted scout's face and ears once more. Something like shock widened her eyes at Pearlwave's enthusiasm. She was fairly certain nobody had ever been that excited to see her. More often cats reacted to her presence -- well, like Batpaw. With unease written across their features. She typically enjoyed it, but she hadn't considered how the opposite reaction might make her feel until this very moment, and she wasn't quite sure how to respond.
"I talked Lilypool into letting me go. No miracle required." Jacarandabloom stepped back with a frown. The warmth from Pearlwave's soft cheek that lingered under her chin was distracting. "I'll stay as long as I can, but as soon as things start to hurt, I have go back. She only allowed me to come because I promised to be with another cat at all times." She snorted. The fact that she hadn't tried to wander off on her own this week should have proven her accountability. It was remarkable, honestly. She was vaguely pleased with herself for demonstrating such self restraint.
An amused purr to her right reminded her that Batpaw was still there. His eyes were warm with mischief, and judging by Pearlwave's reaction, he must have said something Jacarandabloom couldn't hear. She wondered what they'd been talking about when she walked up. She raised her eyebrows at the apprentice in an unimpressed expression. "How'd you get stuck babysitting this squirt?" Sandheart, she knew, was still out of commission back in the healers' den, but Pearlwave was no scout. That little punk better not be giving her too much trouble.

Coppershore with Coralstep calm falls It was true, Coppershore had fallen for Coralstep the moment he'd laid eyes on her. Well, that wasn't entirely factual since they'd grown up as kits together. It was more like he'd fallen for her the first time they ran into each other since becoming apprentices. Quite literally running into each other. Coppershore was a late bloomer, and Coralstep had grown taller than most at a young age. Wasn't entirely either of their faults for the tom nearly getting trampled. Some of his friends liked to joke that Coppershore hit his head too hard on the ground, and when he came to moments after, all he could see was Coralstep.
"And I will continue to do so until the Ocean's waves have claimed us both." A dreamy sigh left his maw at the feeling of his mate's tongue swiping over his ear. He nearly melted from her affections, and nuzzled into her again, like he was trying to disappear into her fur.
His attention was piqued when he finally registered Coconutfall's call for Lemonpaw to step forward. Coppershore figured it was about time that he received his name, especially after the bravery he displayed while aiding in the death of the boa. The healer was reminded of his own naming ceremony, as well as the pride that came with witnessing his daughters' and apprentice's naming ceremony. He found himself torn between catching up with Coralstep, and paying attention to what the Oracle had to say.
Littlefoam with Sunchaser, then Parrotcall calm falls "Yeah, grand." Littlefoam echoed with a weak smile. Not that she didn't enjoy the flirtatious healer's presence, because she did, but the black-and-white molly just found him to be a little intimidating? Confusing? She'd learned long ago not to take his coquetry at face value. Still, it was hard not to be flustered anytime they engaged in casual conversation. Again, her eyes squinted and nose scrunched as she recalled the last few days. Not one healer had gotten in a proper break since the return of the boa patrol. "I hope so, too. He worked really hard. I mean, we all did, but Parrotcall especially."
Lost in her thoughts, which now remained on the aforementioned tom, Littlefoam would have missed the current events if Sunchaser hadn't pointed out Coconutfall's call. She blinked and looked up to see the same sight. Her lack of a poker face revealed a frown that remained only temporarily on her face. Betrayal and heartbreak was nothing new for the healer, but at least her mother's disloyalty wasn't being flaunted in their faces. Nightdapple's body had been found days after leaving her clan and family behind. Again, it was Sunchaser's voice that brought her back to reality, and Littlefoam smiled up at the ginger scout. "How could I forget? I thought all of your fur was going to fall right off, you were shaking so much! Don't think I've ever seen a cat shake from excitement." She responded with a tease, at least her version of one.
Next thing she knew, Sunchaser was off and seldom did she wait for anyone. It couldn't have been her fault that she didn't notice Littlefoam getting lost in the crowd, too late to keep up with her much more long-legged companion. Anxiety began to bubble up as cats filled in the space that Sunchaser had just pushed through, causing Littlefoam to be shoved once more to the outskirts of the crowd. Heart racing as unease and began to prickle at her pelt, the molly nearly resigned herself when a familiar purr brought a rush of comfort.
"Parrotcall." Littlefoam breathed his name, her whispered tone full of relief and affection. His stunning blue gaze certainly caught her eye and surfaced a whole new bundle of nerves. He was much closer than usual, which wasn't strange considering the intimate atmosphere, but it was certainly something she wasn't used to. Not to mention his compliments always caught her off guard. It was hard not to be flustered when Parrotcall was around. "Oh, well, I'm not so sure about that. But, thank you, anyways." Littlefoam wasn't specific to what she was opposing to, nor did she elaborate as she stared at his extended tail. Her amber eyes flitted between his gesture and the sea of felines, trying to gather some courage to accept his offer.
Finally, she laid her spotted tail upon his striped one and waited for Parrotcall to lead the way. And it was only fair that she return the compliment. "You look good, too, by the way." Then again, the ginger-and-white tom had always been handsome. Littlefoam especially admired the clear blue of his eyes, almost like she was staring into a reflection of the ocean. If she allowed herself, she could get lost in them, drown even. His fur was also very soft.
Pearlwave with Batpaw & Jacarandabloom calm falls Pearlwave didn't understand what had been so funny to make Batpaw laugh, but his whispered response was enough to clue her in. She blinked quickly and stared back at him in shock, missing Jacarandabloom's own similar reaction from the hunter's affectionate greeting. Was the scout beside her that special? If Pearlwave had to think about it, she supposed that Jacarandabloom was special. She'd known her just as long as she'd known Lilypool, they'd all grown up together. Though, she had never been as close to her as she was with her healer sister. Pearlwave wasn't so dense that she didn't pick up on what Batpaw was implying, but she could surely pretend to. "I don't know what you're talking about." She whispered back, and whether the apprentice chose to believe her would be up to him.
It would have been one thing if Lilypool had told her sister to stick with Pearlwave, but the fact that Jacarandabloom had chosen to be by her side tonight. Well, that all but made her heart skip. The blue-gray molly looked back at her scout companion with a wide smile. Was this the next step in their friendship? The fact that her presence was more than tolerated? It never occured to Pearlwave that Jacarandabloom probably didn't have anyone else to stick with. But one could argue that she just as easily could've stuck to one of her siblings instead. "Well, I'm happy you're here! I was hoping you'd be able to come anyways. If you do start to hurt I'll gladly help you back to camp." Pearlwave eagerly offered.
Again, Batpaw had been forgotten then very quickly remembered. "Huh? Oh, I mean we just happened to bump into each other and now Batpaw's totally keen on becoming besties." Pearlwave smiled back to him and gave the young apprentice a nudge with her paw. "Isn't that right, Batpaw?" If he wanted to tease her, then she was more than capable of teasing right back.

Batpaw // with Jacarandabloom & Pearlwave ( Tealraven , 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 ) - Batpaw moved away from Pearlwave after slightly teasing her. He bit his lip trying not to laugh when Pearlwave lied to him. " Yeah, yeah, sure. ", he mewed quietly under his breath. The apprentice focused back onto Jacarandabloom and he noticed her expression changing as if she was quietly judging him. Batpaw's fuzzy fur started to bristle hearing the older cat call him 'squirt'. He shot a glare at the scout, " Me? A squirt?" the cat frowned, " I won't be a squirt for long Jacarandabloom. I reckon that I'll be taller than you in a moon or so!" He stuck his tongue out at the molly. The small cat knew what he said earlier was in fact a lie, but he wanted to show the scout that her words didn't affect him. He sat back down and listened to Pearlwave talk. Eugh! This Pearlwave is making me become a third-wheel with how much attention she's giving that mean scout. Batpaw, who was lost in his thoughts, shook when he felt the molly touch him. He scrunched his nose knowing exactly what she was doing: giving a taste of his own medicine! " Oh, don't mind her Jacarandabloom, she's just saying meowing nonsense." Batpaw's face grew hot as he didn't know what to reply with. " I'll have you know that Pearlwave was following me like a kit, I felt bad of course since she seemed lost, so I decided to take her in as my own. I'm a good clanmate you know."" Batpaw was practically asking for a scolding at this point.

[ not as good as the original replies were but,,, it's something ] Whitepaw »
All of Whitepaw's attention was on Lemonpaw and his current ceremony. What any other cats were doing went unnoticed by the white and brown molly. Her eyes drifted upward to land on Coconutfall, eyes narrowing ever so slightly as she watched the brown tomcat sit atop the branch and wait for Lemonpaw to make his way forward. By Coconutfall's side sat Tigerpaw; even from here Whitepaw could see his bright blue eyes wide and alight with excitement and awe. One day, Whitepaw mused, this would be her brother's job. He would be the one to give an apprentice their full name and welcome them into the Clan as a full, mature member.
Whitepaw was excited for Lemonpaw. Excited and a little bit jealous that it wasn't her standing up there about to receive her name. Would her name be called after Lemonpaw was announced as a full scout? Would Coconutfall call for Kiwipaw as well? "Yeah, yeah, I gave that boa something it wouldn't ever forget," Whitepaw responded as she looked back over to Kiwipaw. Her chest puffed out proudly. "That boa never saw it coming. But you were the one who pretty much got rid of those bugs. I mean, I'm not itching anymore and I haven't seen anybody else itching really." A wide grin then spread across her face as she side-eyed the brown healer beside her. "Maybe they'll call you Kiwibug," she playfully teased, nudging her friend.
Redwave »
Carefully Redwave sat the flower down near his paws once he had moved to an area further away from the gathered crowd and closer to the waterfall. He glanced out to where his Clanmates were sitting and talking among themselves, excited about Lemonpaw's naming ceremony. That didn't interest the hunter in the slightest, yet he kept his gaze that way, narrowing them toward Coconutfall and Tigerpaw as they sat atop the branch over the pool. His ears angled toward Stormsurf, indicating that he was still listening to what the healer had to say.
It wasn't until Stormsurf brought up hunters that Redwave turned his gaze away from his father and half brother and back to the healer with him. "Hunters are not trained to heal or fight, but they're trained in the ways of stealth. They knew where to be and how to wait for their prey. Not only that, but hunters are trained to kill. We knew where to strike and how to end a life. Hunters are more useful than you'd expect," he told Stormsurf; his voice was level, but there was an undertone of sharpness that lay in his words. This was not something he was going to argue right now, but it was something that needed to be out in the open before Stormsurf found any reason for hunters to be obsolete to this coup.
Falling silent he listened to the rest of what his companion had to say. It was of no surprise to Redwave to hear his sister's name, yet despite not being surprised it didn't stop the warmth that flooded him knowing that Jacarandabloom would support him. Having his sister by his side meant more to Redwave than he'd admit in the moment.
What surprised him, though, was hearing Lionpaw's name in the list of those who stood by him. "Lionpaw, huh..." He breathed, expressing the surprise that sparked through him. He had not expected the scout molly to be on his side, especially considering that one of her own littermates was Tigerpaw himself. Was she really going to go against her own brother or was there more to this than Redwave even knew? Was this decision based only on her feelings toward Coconutfall? It was a mystery to the hunter, but it was certianly something he wanted to follow up on. Perhaps in the near future he'd have to pay his little sister a visit.
The red tabby remained silent until after Stormsurf finished giving the names of those who were neutral yet sympathetic to his cause. Hearing the names he did didn't surprise him. "If we get Lilypool on our side then Pearlwave will more than likely be swayed. They're attached by the hip, those two." As close friends as they were, if one swayed over to one side then the other was more than likely to follow. "Are there any in particular you think we should spend our time on?" He then asked, wondering if Stormsurf had any particular cats in mind that they needed to focus on recruiting to their side.

Brightclaw »
Excited anticipation ran hot inside Brightclaw. She had witnessed countless naming ceremonies despite not being all that old yet every time one happened she couldn’t stop herself from getting excited. Full name ceremonies were always the best, in her opinion. It was the moment in which a young cat became an adult, when all the hard work, time, and effort a young cat put into becoming the best they could finally paid off. It was a time to celebrate the achievements of a cat and welcome them into the Clan as a full, hardworking member. Trying to guess their full name was also a little treat that Brightclaw enjoyed. She had yet to ever guess correctly, but not once did her failure dampen her hopes of one day guessing correctly.
Yet another thing that heightened her excitement for Lemonpaw’s ceremony was the fact that he would be joining her as a scout. Her chest puffed out in pride for the young tom; the Clan could use strong, sturdy felines to help defend and protect, and given that Lemonpaw had been on the boa patrol it was clear to Brightclaw that the young tom would make for the perfect protector. ”What do you think his name is gonna be?” Brightclaw leaned near Troutwhisker’s ear. ”Lemonsnake is cool, like how he helped with the boa patrol. I think I’d name him that if I were oracle,” she mewed in a hushed voice to her companion. Lemonsnake sounded like a pretty good name choice to her. It was tough sounding and it showcased his achievements up to this point in his life. It would be a worthy name for him, Brightclaw was sure of that.
Vanillabloom »
It wasn't long before Skinkstripe's kits bundled up together in their nest and fell quietly to sleep. It was amusing, Vanillabloom mused, to know that only moments before the three, namely Dovekit, had been hounding their mother to allow them to come with her to Calm Falls for Flower Night, and now they were sound asleep as if nothing exciting was happening at all. It was exactly as Skinkstripe had told them before leaving - they'd be too tired to enjoy themselves tonight and would rather be in camp so that they could sleep. It was such a kit thing to do, something that endeared Vanillabloom to them. For all their whining and pleading, it was moments like this that brought back an all too familiar pang to the white molly. What she'd give to be able to mother another litter. She was beyond grateful to have the kits she did have, but nurturing a brood of her own yet again... Vanillabloom shook her head. Now wasn't the time to allow herself to fall into the depths of her longings.
With the kits sound asleep, Vanillabloom fancied the idea of seeing who had all stayed in camp for the night. She knew Lilypool had opted to stay. They had talked briefly a few days back when Jacanrdabloom had returned from leading the boa patrol. Worried over her daughter the white queen had visited the healers' den, offering any help she could give after seeing the state her scout daughter was in. It had hurt the queen, seeing her daughter battered and bruised, broken and beaten. The boa had done a number on Jacarandabloom, so much so that it had been determined a few ribs had been cracked. It was worrying, more than Vanillabloom could even put into words. The pain that she would be in if she lost a kit... But she knew, she knew without a doubt, that if any of her kits could pull through it would be Jacarandabloom. She had always been a strong fighter from the very start.
It didn't take long after slipping away from the nursery for Vanillabloom to spot a cat in particular. It seemed as if he had noticed her as well, Vanillabloom watching as Cannadrop lowered his stance and padded over to her. The queen gave the tom a warm smile of greeting, dipping her head as Cannadrop appeared before her. "It's a question I've been getting a lot lately, yes," she admitted. "But I don't mind it. I appreciate the concern, but I'm doing alright. I worry for Jacarandabloom, but she'll pull through." As she spoke of her daughter her gaze drifted toward the healers' den. Vanillabloom was not aware of Jacarandabloom being allowed to attend Flower Night, as she was simply assuming that the scout had been told to stay within the camp for the night.

Flickerdawn rolled her eyes in amusement at Wavecrest's comment. He had a point, she supposed. Finrunner had already disappeared into the crowd of cats, and Sunchaser and Nutmegblossom were no where to be seen - at least, not as far as Flickerdawn could find. If she wasn't as friendly as eager to talk as she was, perhaps Flickerdawn might be feeling lonely without her best friends.
"Well I suppose we are," she purred, sarcasm dripping softly from her. "Though I can't say that should be an issue, after all, I am quite the delight to be around," her voice was thick with amusement at her own joke. "I certainly am glad I wasn't on the boa patrol. With my luck, I would have been swallowed whole if I'd encountered it. I guess that wouldn't be hard, though, considering how big they can get." A shiver ran down her spine at the thought, envisioning herself being swallowed up by the boa's jaws, there one moment and gone the next.
Flickerdawn turned back to Wavecrest, having only just realized she'd started looking off into the trees, almost like she was watching for another boa to come and attack her clanmates. She smiled sweetly, waiting to see how he'd respond. He didn't seem to talk much, but Flickerdawn didn't quite mind. She could talk enough for the both of them, if need be.

Cannadrop nodded at the mention of Jacarandabloom, his own chest growing tight at the thought of what Vanillabloom must have felt, hearing that she had been injured. If it had been one of his kittens, grown up as they were, he wasn't sure all the warriors in the world could have stopped him from finding the boa and tearing it apart. It was a rage only a parent could feel, that burning in his blood at the idea of Littlefoam or Webtangle being hurt. And Vanillabloom had enough on her mind lately, a daughter in the healers' den was the last thing she needed to keep her up at night.
"I'm glad to hear that," he meowed sincerely, "I've always thought that Jacarandabloom is strong. I suppose she must get that from her mother. I can't even imagine what I would have done if it were Littlefoam or Webtangle. I'm sorry that you had to go through that - I know that must have been hard on you. If you or Jacarandabloom need anything whilst she heals, I'd be happy to help. It's gotten so lonely now that Littlefoam and Webtangle don't need me anymore, I'd be glad for the chance to feel useful again." Cannadrop wasn't quite sure why he was talking this much - he usually preferred to be quiet and listen to those around him. Perhaps it was the parental instinct taking over, the need to bond with someone else about how it felt to be a mother or a father, to have someone else's life entirely in your paws.

Brightclaw »
”Oh, Lemonleaf is a good one too!” Brightclaw exclaimed jovially. She quivered beside Troutwhisker, desperate to know what the young tom’s actual name would be. There were so many different combinations of names out there that Brightclaw couldn’t even think of them all. It made her wonder, though, how exactly an oracle decided on what name to give a graduating apprentice. When she had been named a warrior she had been complimented on her strength and loyalty. Had those two qualities been what led Coconutfall to naming her Brightclaw? The molly tipped her head as she lifted a paw and unsheathed her claws. Eyes narrowed as she observed them, taking in everything about them. Her claws weren’t bright, not in the slightest, but they were sharp, deadly if they had to be, though Brightclaw could never make herself go so far as to kill another cat.
The scout could have sat there staring at her claws for the rest of the evening had Troutwhisker not spoken up again. Brightclaw jumped to attention, ears perked high. ”Listen to that! Lemontree would be a good name, too. I mean, he killed a snake! Or helped kill a snake, I’m not sure who dealt the final blow to the boa… But-but! Still, a tree could kill a boa if it fell on it. Not even a snake could survive that.” Her nose scrunched in thought as she then quietly added, ”I don’t think so, at least.” If a tree fell on a cat then they were surely as good as dead. It had to be the same for a snake, but Brightclaw wasn’t sure how well a snake could withstand a tree. Maybe they could survive being crushed by wood.
Rather than contemplate what could and couldn’t kill a boa Brightclaw directed her attention back to Coconutfall. Her paws shuffled eagerly awaiting the rest of the ceremony. ”Why do ya think Coconutfall named you Troutwhisker?” She asked her companion while still looking at the oracle and his son. The tom had a nice name, but why had ‘whisker’ been chosen over all the other possibilities? It was something Brightclaw found herself curious about.
Vanillabloom »
Warmth pulled Vanillabloom’s lips up into a smile as the older tomcat praised her daughter. ”She’s always been strong,” mewed the queen with a nod. Her daughter had always been a stout and sturdy molly. Never once had Vanillabloom worried about her daughter by way of her strength. Jacarandabloom had always been capable, independent as well. Even in personality she was a strong cat. Her presence was always noticeable for she was sturdy in mind and body. ”Her strength didn’t come from me. It’s her stubbornness that I passed down to her,” Vanillabloom mewed with a hint of a laugh to her words. Not many cats would realize that a queen as soft as Vanillabloom would have a terrible stubborn streak. In all honesty it didn’t show up often, but when it did it was as noticeable as the day was long; when there was something she wanted or wanted to do there was nothing stopping her, not even the Ocean itself.
Cannadrop’s words were refreshing. His presence was refreshing. He was one of the only cats in the Clan that could understand Vanillabloom’s worry. Coconutfall was still around and was still a father to their kits, albeit it was painfully obvious just how awkward he was whenever around any of his first litter. In a way it was like she was their only parent now, a single mother just trying to do right by her children even if they were already all grown up. No matter how grown her kits got she would always see them as her children. She’d never forget how small they had been the day they were born, how fragile they had looked as they nursed for the first time. That sight, that experience, had changed the molly’s life. She would always remember them as her tiny kits.
Cannadrop surely understood that feeling. Even if he had not been the one to birth his kits, he had gone through his own bout of familial drama some time ago yet still fresh enough to surely leave a sour taste still in the back of his throat. He, too, was now a single parent with grown kits. Surely he understood Vanillabloom’s worry over her daughter.
Her smile from earlier widened at Cannadrop’s offer. ”I appreciate it greatly. If there’s anything we need I’ll come to you.” Knowing that she had somebody who would be willing to help her or her healing daughter out meant more to Vanillabloom than she could properly verbalize. In her gratitude she leaned forward to give the hunter a thankful lick across the shoulder. ”And the same goes for you. Should you need anything, if Webtangle or Littlefoam need anything, you know where I’ll be.” With her bobbed tail she gestured toward the nursery.
Soon she pulled away from the tom. As the shadows of night grew darker and light faded from the camp Vanillabloom was quick to notice just how empty and quiet the Clan’s home had become. Her two toned eyes grew wide at the realization. ”Am I keeping you from Flower Night? You should go if you were planning to. I told Skinkstripe I’d watch the kits for her so I’m staying in camp tonight,” she informed Cannadrop, clearly not wanting to hold him up if he wanted to join the majority of their Clan at Calm Falls.
