SILVERTIDE heading to calm falls / open! After the invigorating conversation with Redwave, Silvertide's head was still spinning with ideas and possibilities, and she found herself unable to sit still. As the other elders went back to doing whatever those lazy fleabags did all day, the aging silver molly slowly rose to her feet, stretching her stiff joints. She shuffled out of the den, her gait smoothing as her muscles warmed. Her golden gaze darted around the camp. Everyone looked busy. Surely no one would notice one of the counselors out for a stroll. As the eldest cat in the Clan, she was generally discouraged from leaving camp on her own. Pfah. Killjoys. She snorted to herself. I'm old, not a spineless jellyfish. I can still handle myself.
Silvertide made sure nobody was looking before making her way over to the dirtplace. She wrinkled her nose at the smell as she pushed through overgrowth. She could slip out of camp the back way and get to the Calm Falls with no one the wiser. It had been too long since she'd sunned herself in the mist of the waterfall. Silvertide turned her paws toward the distant sound of roaring water and set off, slow but steady.

WAVECREST soft sands / open!
Afternoon sunlight fanning through the palm fronds dappled Wavecrest's grey-and-white coat, warming his still-damp fur. He shifted from grooming his chest to licking sand and drying saltwater from his legs. After hooking a few fish in comfortable silence with Mosslight, he found himself not wanting to return to the chaos of camp just yet, so he'd bid her goodbye and made his way further down the Palm Coast to the Soft Sands. He gave generous distance to the training area, though he could still hear the shouts of apprentices and mentors calling out instructions from where he sat in the common area. Beneath that he could feel more than hear the subsonic thunder of waves rolling onto the beach, a comforting rumble deep in his chest.
@ anyone PARROTCALL healers' den / open!
Satisfaction lit Parrotcall's gaze, pride glowing in his chest, as Saltwhisker approached Algaewing with a confidence he hadn't seen before. He felt a little excited for the tom; he hoped it would work out for them. A blossoming romance often left the healer giddy, even if he had yet to experience it for himself, and knowing that he had played a small part in bringing two cats happiness brought him as much happiness in return. "Now, what was I doing before Saltwhisker?" he murmured to himself. He'd finished preparing poultices for the boa patrol's return and Stormsurf and Vinepool were already taking stock of the herbs. Perhaps I should check on Butterflypaw, see if she has any questions about her training. But it seemed that Parrotcall's rumbling stomach had other ideas. Or perhaps I should take a break for lunch. He'd been in the healers' den all morning.

KIWIPAW camp / open!
Kiwipaw stood outside the bustling healers' den, trying not to look too disappointed that his mentor hadn't shown up. Again. Training was often the only thing that brought him peace these days; learning and memorizing herbs and remedies took his mind off of recent events. He could feel the other cats' tension and confusion and frustration as acutely as if it were his own. While it made him a precocious little healer, it also wrecked his mental health, and the fact that two of his denmates were on today's boa patrol didn't help at all. He knew he wouldn't be able to relax until he saw them both with his own eyes. He hoped he wouldn't have to treat their wounds. Kiwipaw sighed and surveyed the camp, looking for something, anything to do, to relieve his restless energy.

SUNCHASER camp / with quickwind, honeyfeather, fernleaf, & littlefoam Sunchaser beamed. "Great! Let's go!" Her tail twitched, mirroring Honeyfeather's excitement, and her massive paws itched to hit the trail. She bounded across the camp with the two younger mollies in tow. The sun was shining, the air was crisp and fresh after the storm, and the jungle beckoned, teeming with life. She turned to face Honeyfeather and Quickwind, walking backwards as she spoke. "So, where are we going, actually? Because I have no idea," she said, despite being the leader of this patrol. "Since we didn't talk about it I thought we should-- oof!" Breath wooshed out of her lungs as the brawny golden molly backed right into Fernleaf, standing watch at the camp entrance, nearly barreling the poor tom off his feet. "Oh, fish guts! Hi, Fernleaf!" Impossibly, her grin widened as she spotted Littlefoam a few paces away, a partially eaten frog between her paws. "Hey, Littlefoam! Sorry, did I-- did I interrupt you guys?"
STORMSURF healers' den / with vinepool
Stormsurf allowed a hint of worry to creep onto his face as well, his forehead furrowing in sympathy as though he shared Vinepool's concern. He nodded in agreement. "I know," he said, his voice uncertain, wavering slightly. "He seems like an accident waiting to happen. Coconutfall would never be so reckless. He may not be as strong or as bold as his son, but at least he leads with his brain, not his heart." A pause. Stormsurf's meow was almost a murmur. "One can only imagine what Redwave would do if he were Oracle." What did Vinepool think he would do? That's what he needed to know.
ANISELIGHT camp / with maplebloom
Aniselight liked Maplebloom. She liked that she was quiet and straightforward and didn't have a brain full of bubbles like few certain scouts she knew. Not that it was possible to tell from her sour expression. She twitched her shoulders, barely a shrug. "Let's just get moving. Unless you want to wait for another hunter to join us." As soon as the words left her mouth, she almost regretted it. More cats on the patrol was a toss-up. She'd either be dragged into making more pointless small talk or the others would be chatty enough to fill in the gaps she left in conversation, freeing Aniselight to focus on her job.

Littlefoam with Fernleaf, Quickwind, Honeyfeather & Sunchaser outside camp Littlefoam had just started to nudge the frog over Fernleaf's way when he suddenly lurched her way. She scrambled backwards and could easily make out Sunchaser's silhouette from behind the tom. The small black and white molly perked up, her calm demeanor suddenly spiking in energy. "Sunchaser, hi!" Her tone was full of excitement and affection, moving around Fernleaf so that she could bump her head against the taller she-cat's shoulder. Then her golden gaze falls to Quickwind and Honeyfeather, finally noticing the two hunters. "Oh, hello." Littlefoam greeted them politely, taking a couple pawsteps backwards. "You didn't interrupt at all, we were just conversing is all. I offered Fernleaf some of my prey, but I'll probably head back to the healer's den soon." She addressed Sunchaser again. "Where are you guys headed?"
Coppershore with Parrotcall healer's den After dropping off the herbs he collected, the broad tom slipped away from the back of the den. "Excuse me, sorry, excuse me. Coming through." The golden healer muttered as he brushed past other healers and patients alike. He let out a deep sigh as he sat before the den's entrance, feeling like he could breathe again in the more open area. One of his ears swiveled as he heard a low grumbling right beside him, jumping slightly when he noticed Parrotcall. "Sorry son, you startled me! Been a bit frazzled this morning." Coppershore chuckled and quickly licked his chest, a bit embarrassed that he didn't notice the younger tom sooner, or that he'd gone and sat right next to him. "You hungry? Wanna grab some grub with me? Think a couple of us are due for a break." A grunt left him as he stood again. Coppershore wasn't that old, but sometimes he felt like he was an elder. Something about the rainy weather made his bones ache. Whether Parrotcall agreed or not, the stocky tom stepped out of the den tilted his head. "Cmon."

STORMSURF healers' den / with vinepool
Rats. Not a supporter, then. Stormsurf's disappointment wasn't entirely faked as he shrugged and heaved a sigh. "True. I suppose only time will tell." He thought it would be easy to persuade the healer to join their cause. He could tell the tom was sweet on Redwave. He'd seen the way Vinepool sometimes looked at him, eyes bright with admiration. Stormsurf didn't blame him; even his own heartbeat quickened in Redwave's presence if for no reason other than base attraction. He shook his head at Vinepool. "No, I think I've got it covered. Thanks, though. Talk to you later, Vinepool," he said, tossing a wink over his shoulder as he left. He ducked and weaved around Parrotcall and Coppershore as they headed out, putting on a convincing show of looking busy and puttering about the healers' den, ears alert as he did what he did best: listen. Listen for any snippets of conversation that could hint at sympathy toward Redwave -- or dissatisfaction with Coconutfall's leadership.
PARROTCALL camp / with coppershore
Parrotcall was almost to the exit when a golden figure blocked his path. He stopped abruptly, just shy of colliding with the older healer, blinking in surprise as Coppershore plopped down in front of him. For a confused second he thought the golden fur belonged to his sister, but then he caught a whiff of freshly picked herbs and saw who it was. "Afternoon, Coppershore!" He chuckled at the tom's embarrassment. "Startled by my stunning good looks, you mean?" He lifted his chin, head tilted at a jaunty angle. "I know, I can be distracting. Perhaps getting a bite to eat will help you refocus!" With a rakish grin, he followed Coppershore over to the freshkill pile at a cheerful trot, whiskers quivering and mouth already watering in anticipation of their meal.

He sighed softly"please keep an eye on him"he mumbled under his breath. He took a deep breath, trying to put his focus on checking stores. Once he made a short list of herbs they needed, he made his way towards the entrance

Lilypool ยป
To be perfectly honest, Lilypool did not expect Pearlwave to trip over her paw. She was so ready for the hunter to see right through the trap and avoid it on nimble paws that the moment her friend actually did stumble, Lilypool was frozen in shock.
The tabico stood there with wide eyes. Everything happened in slow motion. She felt force slam into her leg, jerking her forward. Instinct allowed her to right herself rather than fall into the water alongside her companion, and once she was steady once more all she did was stand there. Water splashes viciously into her face, eyes blinking it away, ears twitching furiously to keep droplets from sliding into them. The fur along her spine prickled, bushing out and trailing a line down her body all the way to her tail-tip, her tail now twice its size.
A raspy voice escaped her as she called, โPearlwave?โ Her friend was face down into the water, a struggling tangle of limbs as she attempted to push herself away from the waterโs grasp. Lilypool had never heard of cats drowning in the Calm Falls, but there was always a first for anything.
Healer training began to kick in. The mollyโs fur relaxed yet her heart continued to beat against her chest, a bird trapped in a cage. Questions began rushing through her mind, running a checklist for her - was Pearlwave still conscious? Yes. Was there blood? No. Was Pearlwave able to move on her own? Yes. Was she still breathing? It appeared so. As Lilypool rushed forward her friend was already picking herself back up and shaking off the fall. Lilypool stopped just a few minnow-lengths away, looking the hunter up and down, side to side. She stared at Pearlwave, the hunterโs pelt clinging to her skin, her frame prominent as ever. Water streamed off her like a waterfall. Lilypool stared at her, silent, until Pearlwave broke it with a hearty laugh.
Relief swamped the healer. Her shoulders loosened and her heart no longer fluttered frantically in her chest. โOh, Pearlwave, you had me worried for a moment there! I didnโt mean to trip you up so badly.โ It didnโt take long for her words to transform into laughter as well, her relieved happiness mingling with Pearlwaveโs own until it faded out, another bout of silence forming between the two mollies. Lilypool waded through the water and wrapped her lithe body around Pearlwave, not caring about how soaked she was getting her own pelt. They were already in the water, she might as well look the part.
Curiously she looked at the pebble her friend had spotted, whiskers twitching. โWhat a pretty color!โ She exclaimed softly. It was a soft purple, perhaps some would say it qualified as a gentle blue. The shape was rounded save for a few dents, but the dents added to its character. โYou should keep it, put it under your nest or something,โ Lilypool suggested, having no idea that Pearlwave was planning on nudging it toward Jacarandabloomโs way once her patrol returned from the boa mission. As the suggestion left her maw she pulled away from Pearlwave and turned to head out of the pool, but a flash of silver in the nearby undergrowth grabbed the healerโs attention.
โSilvertide?โ Called the young molly, certain she spotted the elderly feline heading their way.

Jellysplash - Palm Coast to Soft Sands - W/ Wavecrest The gray molly trotted along the palms, her ears perked forward and her eyes watchful. The Palm Coast seemed to be a calm area at the moment but it was not where Jellysplash's journey would end. No, like usual, the gray cat had her eyes set on the mangroves in the distance. Scarmaw's Lair. Jellysplash had yet to actually work up the nerve to fully venture out into the mangroves but the she-cat did often enjoy the small thrill that came from wandering close to where the Palm Coast ended and the mangroves began. She hoped to one day catch a glimpse of Scarmaw, wanting to be one of the few who would live to tell a tale. But that day would likely not be today. With plenty already going on in the clan, a simple jog near the beginning of the mangrove trees would suffice. However, as she made her way up the coastline, she spotted a lone figure in the distance that was sitting at the soft sands. Curious to see who it was, Jellysplash strayed from her original path and padded closer until she reached Wavecrest. "Hey Wavecrest." she greeted as she came to a stop a small ways away from him. ----
Oysterfur - Camp - Open Oysterfur laid at the base of a tree that lined the clan's camp. The tom was quietly grooming his own fur as his mind wandered elsewhere. Namely on what needed to be attended to once he was done. Perhaps a quick visit to Gecko Ravine to hunt or a trek to Palm Coast would be the best use of his time. He could not make up his mind so he continued to bounce back and forth between the two as he kept to himself under the shade of the tree. ----
Plumeriawhisker - Camp - Open After longing around the falls, it was finally time to put herself back to work. Plumeriawhisker stretched her limbs and glanced around after making her way back into camp. She was planning to go out on hunting trip, but of course, she'd rather not do so without company. Her eyes flickered around the camp, noting a few other cats who were wrapped up in their own conversations, and then began to make her way over towards the dens to see if any other hunters or even scouts would like to join her on a hunting trip. ----
Webtangle - Camp - w/ Kiwipaw Webtangle emerged from the healer's den, shaking a few stray leaves from his pelt. Mid-shake he almost found himself walking straight into the apprentice that was standing outside of the den. The healer blinked and quickly stumbled sideways to avoid collision. "Oh woah! Uh! Hey there Kiwipaw!" he greeted in a weak recovery. He looked at the apprentice and then glanced around as he realized that Kiwipaw seemed a little unoccupied at the moment. Without a mentor or activity to be done in sight, Webtangle focused his gaze back on the apprentice with a questioning look. "So, um... whatcha doing?" (was trying to get these done tonight but I ended up getting tired ^^' so WIP for now)

SILVERTIDE calm falls / with lilypool & pearlwave Silvertide probably left half her coat tangled in the bushes behind her, but it got her out of camp, it did. Her paws found the well worn path curving left and followed it to the waterfall. She had to stop a few times along the way - had the falls always been this far away or was she imagining things? - but she made it. And only slightly out of breath, too. The sound of splashing and laughter reached her ears before the pool did, and the elderly molly smiled. Good. Her Clanmates really did need to loosen up and have more fun, heirline crisis or no.
To her surprise, one of the young cats called out to her. She squinted over at them. The two figures were backlit and the sun bouncing off of the pool was dazzling, blinding. She lifted her chin, nose twitching as she placed their scents. "Well, if it isn't Lilypool and Pearlwave, inseparable as always." Silvertide continued past them, padding down to the edge of the pool, where she sank into the soft sand with a grateful groan. "You two haven't come to drag me back to camp, have you? Pat me on the head and send me back to the counselors with my medicinal herbs?" she asked wryly, dropping her head to lap from the cool waters.
WAVECREST soft sands / with jellysplash
The crash of surf, the cry of gulls, and the nearby training sessions were suddenly interrupted by a brash young voice, and all other sounds faded to background noise. Wavecrest's head bobbed up, a faint look of surprise lifting his eyebrows when he spied Jellysplash making her way towards him. "Hello, Jellysplash." He hadn't expected a bold, adventurous cat like her to notice someone like him, let alone approach him for conversation. Unless she was here for another reason. The molly was well-known for her reckless pursuits, and he might just be her next victim. "Where has your thrill-seeking taken you today?" he asked, standing and shaking the sand from his grey-and-white fur. He indicated the mostly deserted sands around him with his tail, no sign of anything more interesting than seagull to be found. "Interesting choice for you, the Soft Sands."
KIWIPAW camp / with webtangle
A shadow fell across the small brown tom as a taller cat came towards him. Startled, Kiwipaw scurried out of the way, just as the other cat veered to the side to avoid a collision, and the apprentice bounced off of the warrior's chest. "Oops." He shook his head and glanced up, ears and face heating as he saw who it was. Webtangle! He's so cool. He was the only healer other than Quickwind who was ever interested in Kiwipaw's unorthodox ideas and experiments. That he knew of, anyway. He hadn't spoken to many of the adult healers yet. "Hi Webtangle." An awkward silence stretched between them. Kiwipaw's heart raced as he tried to think of something clever to say and found his brain lacking. Instead, a small sigh escaped him at Webtangle's question. "Nothing, as you can see. My mentor's been busy and I haven't heard from Algaewing yet about our experiment and my friends are gone on a possibly life-threatening patrol while I'm stuck here with nothing to do." The words poured out of him in a rush. A pause. "So, uh. What're you up to?"

Jellysplash - Soft Sands - w/ Tealraven 's Wavecrest Jellysplash flexed her paws, taking a mini moment to herself to enjoy the feeling of the soft sand underneath her paws as Wavecrest responded. Her eyebrow raised for a moment and she shook her head. "Oh this isn't my stop. There isn't much reason to travel to the soft sands unless your training an apprentice or plan on staring off into the ocean for a few hours." she responded with a shrug. Both of which did not sound very entertaining to her but she thought, perhaps, that Wavecrest did find joy staring off at the ocean. It wasn't a terrible sight after all. Pushing the thought aside, she casted the other warrior a smile. "I'm actually on my way towards the mangroves. I was just curious to see who was out here, if I'm honest. If you're bored out though, you're welcome to join me. I usually don't venture into Scarmaw's Lair but if you'd like to, I certainly won't say no." she offered him, giving an eager look. Adventures were fun but they were always more enjoyable with company.
----
The healer stared for a moment as Kiwipaw began to spew out an answer to his question. At one point, he began to open his mouth to respond, not realizing that Kiwipaw was not done speaking, and ended up standing there with his moth slightly agape. When the question was turned onto him, Webtangle paused for a moment. It wasn't surprising to hear Kiwipaw stressing about various clan matters. Most cats were. "Ah... well... I was on my way to go out and try to collect a few herbs." he explained, shifting his weight on his paws. The tom paused again. "Um.. if you'd like you could join me?" he asked, sounding uncertain if that was something Kiwipaw would agree to.

Coppershore with Parrotcall camp Coppershore blinked his unmatching eyes at Parrotcall's playful response, never used to the tom's flirtatious ways. Despite being a taken tom, the ginger healer could feel his pelt growing hot, and he had to think about their prior interaction. Had he really been distracted because of his fellow healer's looks? Coppershore had to admit to himself that Parrotcall was a rather attractive feline. Maybe if he were younger, and maybe if he wasn't already madly in love with a certain black-furred scout. "Hm. Perhaps you're right!" It's unclear whether he was agreeing with the tom's first statement, or the latter. Before he nosed through the fresh-kill, another amber pelt caught his attention. His daughter, Aniselight. Coppershore's ears perked and he couldn't stop himself as he called out to her. "Aniselight, hi! You look like you're busy. I'm sure you're doing great, though! Stay safe out there, I love you!" His clear voice carried across the clearing. Coppershore nudged Parrotcall. "She works so hard, I love her so much." He spoke proudly, letting out a dreamy sigh before looking over the pile and quickly picked out a brightly colored fish.
Pearlwave with Lilypool & Silvertide calm falls A general wave of comfort washed over the molly as Lilypool wrapped herself around the hunter. Warmth filled Pearlwave's heart and her chest swelled knowing just how much she was cared for by her friend. "You were just too quick for me, Lilypool." She responded with a chuckle, glad that the tabico found the situation just as humorous. Pearlwave wouldn't have been surprised if she'd gone full healer on her. Though, it was granted since she'd just witnessed Pearlwave face plant right into the shallow waters. How embarrassing it would've been for her if she'd actually done something silly, like drown. Her death would've been laughed about for moons, would've been made an example of for elders to pass down to kits. What a humiliating end to a short life.
Fortunately, she hadn't drowned, and instead found a curious little rock instead. The tips of her ears grew hot at Lilypool's suggestion, only because she had hoped it would be used to line a nest as decoration, just not her own. "Yeah, or something." Pearlwave repeated to herself, briefly wondering how her gesture would be taken. Lost in her thoughts, the blue hunter stayed sat as Lilypool turned away, only the sound of her voice calling out to someone had brought her back to reality.
The sight of Silvertide made the young molly smile, always enjoying the older she-cat's presence. Pearlwave stood, shook out her fur once again and joined Lilypool at the edge of the water. "We wouldn't even dream of it, Silvertide. Only the tides know just how far your stubbornness goes, and we wouldn't dream of testing it now." She answered for the both of them, nudging Lilypool playfully. "Though, we were just about to head back to camp ourselves. We could stay if you'd like the company?"

Lilypool ยป
Pale green eyes remained on Pearlwave a moment longer. Despite the hunter appearing just fine, a small seed of worry remained pitted in Lilypoolโs stomach. Her friend wasnโt acting like her lungs took in too much water and there wasnโt any blood or superficial wounds from the fall. Pearlwave was clearly fine, so why was Lilypool struggling so hard to accept the fact? Is it because your family fell apart and now youโre worried your friends will leave? Whispered a voice in the back of her mind. Lilypool felt small in her pelt. She had been more protective over her friends and family as of late, and her anxiety had increased tenfold since Coconutfallโs confession. Water splashed gently upon her legs as she shuffled her paws. Take a deep breath, Lilypool. Youโre fine. Youโre fine.
It was the voice of Silvertide that pulled the healer out of her darkening thoughts. Lilypool perked up, once again comfortable in her own body. โCalm Falls is just as safe as being in camp, no cat should stop you from enjoying yourself here,โ Lilypool called out to the elder, chiming in with Pearlwaveโs comment. She returned her friendโs nudge with a smile, though even as she did the seed of worry rolled in her stomach upon hearing Pearlwave suggest to Silvertide that they'd stay a little longer if the counselor would like. It wasn't that Lilypool had a problem being around the elder or even hanging out at Calm Falls, but the longer she stayed away from camp, the sooner something might happen due to the healers being swamped with patients.
โAre the healers in camp doing alright?โ She then asked Silvertide before she could stop herself, concern clear in the question. Would the elderly molly even know how things were going with the healers? It wasnโt Silvertideโs job to keep an eye on an entire group of Clanmates, but Lilypool was feeling the claws of anxiety press into her and she needed a way to stop them before it was too late.

KIWIPAW camp / with webtangle
"Join you?" Kiwipaw's eyes lit up. Webtangle was not much older than him - old enough that he could have been his brother from another litter - yet the apprentice sometimes found himself wishing the warrior was his mentor. Which probably made him a horrible cat. Whalespirit had been a good teacher so far and Kiwipaw had learned a lot from him; he shouldn't be ungrateful. But still... "Well, yeah, of course! I-I'd love to," he blurted. He'd been hoping for a chance to get out of camp, distract himself from his worries. His legs suddenly tingled with restless energy. Kiwipaw beamed up at Webtangle. "Do you like, want to go now, or...?"
WAVECREST soft sands / with jellysplash
Wavecrest debated feeling offended at her insinuation but settled for a derisive snort instead. He did happen to enjoy staring off into the ocean, yes. It was wild and restless and ever-changing and it thrilled a secret part of him. Given the similarities she shared with it, he was surprised Jellysplash didn't have a greater appreciation for it. But maybe when she looked at the ocean she only saw a mirror.
"The mangroves." It wasn't a question. He wasn't even that surprised, really. He supposed he should be grateful that Jellysplash at least had the sense to stop by and see if anyone else would accompany her, rather than charging off on her own into certain danger. "Oh, I'm coming with you," he growled. "I can't in good conscience let one of my own Clanmates just waltz into Scarmaw's Lair. Even if she might deserve what ever happens to her for being so foolhardy." Wavecrest returned her smile. "That old croc might be too much to handle even for you, Jellysplash."
PARROTCALL camp / with coppershore
Parrotcall watched with faint amusement as Coppershore's face went on a journey, several emotions flitting across his muzzle, before evidently deciding Parrotcall wasn't serious. He rarely was. He knew he should feel bad when he accidentally flustered his Clanmates, but he couldn't help himself. Pleased, the colorpoint tom leaned forward to inspect the freshkill pile. Oh, he was hungrier than he thought! He'd been so focused this morning preparing poultices for the boa patrol and helping Saltwhisker with his love life he'd completely ignored his stomach. And hadn't he just lectured Saltwhisker about not forgetting to see to his own needs? Healers got so caught up in caring for others they often didn't make time to care for themselves. What a hypocrite he was!
As Parrotcall pulled a bird with vibrant feathers toward himself, Coppershore called out to his daughter across the camp. Parrotcall, sensing her burning embarrassment without having to look, suddenly became very interested in his lunch. "You must be proud." He smiled at the doting father even as he cringed internally. He was more than a little disturbed to look at Coppershore and see what could very well be Parrotcall himself many moons from now. He made a silent promise to his future kits, right then and there, to never do what Coppershore just did. "You and Coralstep have raised two fine mollies."
SUNCHASER camp / with quickwind, honeyfeather, fernleaf, & littlefoam "We have no idea!" Sunchaser declared with great enthusiasm. "Hunting, as far as I know." She gestured to Quickwind and Honeyfeather, only one of the three mollies a hunter. Not that it deterred Sunchaser in any way. She was glad simply for the company; any activity or chore was better with friends. Even though she knew she'd probably make a fool of herself. She always did whenever she tried something that wasn't fighting. She wasn't good for anything else at all, really. But she liked to think she made up for it by being a terrific scout. She smothered that ember of self-doubt deep in her chest, her grin unfaltering. "I'm sure you guys are both busy, but if you change your mind, you're welcome to join us!" Sunchaser turned around to face Quickwind and Honeyfeather, oblivious that her patrol was blocking the camp entrance. "So where are we headed, guys?" It was only when the sharp tang of fresh blood hit her that she stepped out of the way.

SILVERTIDE calm falls / with lilypool & pearlwave "Hmph. You'd better not." Indeed, testing the old she-cat's hard-headedness was fighting a losing battle. She'd always been headstrong and had not mellowed out with age as everyone assumed - or hoped - she would. "Nobody likes a tattletail." Silvertide lifted her muzzle from the still rippling surface of the pool, clear droplets clinging to her whiskers and dripping from her chin. She stretched, unsheathing her claws and sinking them into the sand.
Lilypool was right. The Calm Falls were close enough to camp to be safe, close enough that the whole Clan could come running at the first sign of danger if they so wished. That didn't stop some warriors from feeling a need to keep an eye on her every second of the day. She wrinkled her nose at the thought. "You'd think so, wouldn't you? But what if I, so clumsy in my advanced aged, lose my balance and slip into the pool? What if I get tired and can't walk back? What if, Ocean forbid, I fall and I can't get up?" She rolled her eyes. Her exaggerations were not so far from the truth of what some cats - mostly healers - had told her. She was well aware of her limitations, thank you.
Though Pearlwave did not seem to notice, Silvertide caught the glimmer of concern in Lilypool's green gaze, heard just a hint of reluctance in her mew. As a healer, her thoughts were no doubt elsewhere today. Silvertide didn't blame her. "I appreciate the offer, Pearlwave, thank you. But I'll be fine on my own for a bit. Don't let me keep you," she rasped as she eased herself down onto her side and leaned back to soak up the sun. She closed her eyes against the warm afternoon light as it washed over her face, already working its magic on her, instilling drowsiness. It took a full heartbeat for Lilypool's question to register. "The healers--"
Rustling branches and shouts of surprise and alarm filled the air. Silvertide opened one eye, peering back down the path that led to camp, to the source of the sudden commotion. At this time of day, with so many patrols out, the camp was typically quiet. Now the entrance was buzzing with activity. She could not see what was happening from here, only hear it. But she had a pretty good guess as to what had just interrupted the peaceful afternoon. "The healers, if I'm not mistaken, are going to need some help," she finished with a pointed look at Lilypool. "You'd best hurry."
JACARANDABLOOM camp / with boa patrol "Clear the way!" Jacarandabloom commanded. For all her bluster, the young scout was more than capable of acting quickly and decisively. Only when she stopped thinking and overanalyzing every little thing she did and how she did it was she truly able to shine. When mouse-dung hit the fan, she was there, barreling toward the camp like a cat-shaped battering ram, making space for the wounded boa patrol.
Dark red had joined the pale grey and cream splotches on her torbie coat. She didn't know where it came from. When the boa had at last fallen, the killing blow dealt by none other than one of the apprentices, she had paused just long enough to catch her breath. Just long enough to assess the others. They'd needed to get back to camp, and fast. The eggs and the nest could wait; at least the primary threat had been taken care of. She'd celebrate later. Jacarandabloom had slipped into a cold, hyperfocused state of calm and hadn't stopped since.
Every injury the patrol had sustained was her fault. No matter how big or how small. It was her fault. This whole thing had been her idea, and she'd known it was risky from the start. She'd brought them to the snake's lair. This patrol, this task, it had been her responsibility. Though she'd done her best to take as many of the hits as possible, still the cats behind her bled. Because of her. Jacarandabloom had not stopped to survey her own injuries yet. She'd made it this far on adrenaline alone; she could keep going.
"MOVE," she hissed, shouldering past the cats gabbing around the camp entrance. She looked back once, to make sure they were all still there, Sandheart and Mintsong and Cliffstorm and Lemonpaw and Creekpaw. She let them go first, then stumbled into camp after them.

Lilypool ยป
Lilypool had spoken the truth. Calm Falls was rightfully named, the area tranquil and free of threat, and it was right outside camp, so if something were to happen then all it would take was a loud enough yowl and a rush of Clanmates would appear to assess the danger. It was also the only place outside of camp where a scout wasn't needed, though many cats still asked for a scout's company, mostly out of habit, when venturing to the Calm Falls. Most scouts didn't mind it, especially considering they were getting a break themselves even if they were still technically doing their job. Though for as truthful as her words were, there was always the chance that something could happen, especially to an elderly feline. Silvertide was well up there in moons, seasons upon seasons older than most, if not all, other members of HibiscusClan. For her age she was still spry and lively, her temper just as hot as it had been since Lilypool could remember, but even an apprentice healer could clearly see the signs of age written all over the molly. Stiff movements and slow reactions were a troublesome combination, especially when around bodies of water. Lilypool had no doubt that Silvertide could handle herself at Calm Falls, but that wouldn't ease the concern that grew ever stronger.
This concern only grew as the sound of shouting entered the air. Lilypool's fur immediately stood on end, the tabico bristling wildly. Jacarandabloom's voice was clear to her. Hearing her voice meant that Lilypool's littermate was still alive and well enough to raise her voice, but that didn't mean she was unscathed, and by the sounds of it something had gone wrong. Had the boa killed one of the patrol members? Lemonpaw and Creekpaw had been on the patrol; they were older apprentices, almost ready to be given their naming ceremonies, but was allowing apprentices on the patrol a wise idea? Or perhaps something had happened to Mintsong or Sandheart. Lilypool prayed to the Ocean that both mollies were fine. If Sandheart had been wounded, or worse, though... Lilypool's jaw tightened as her mind flashed to her father. Coconutfall would be devastated if something happened to Sandheart, and Lilypool could only imagine how heartbroken Lionpaw, Whitepaw, and Tigerpaw would be if their mother hadn't made it.
Without even thinking twice Lilypool jumped out of the shallow waters of Calm Falls and bolted toward camp. She threw a quick, "Sorry!" toward Pearlwave and Silvertide both as she crashed through the thin border of ferns and needle-esque palms that littered the ground. She was thankful for how close the two areas were, and when she arrived she saw the last tail-tip of the patrol entering camp save for Jacarandabloom who had stayed behind.
The first thing Lilypool noticed was how battered her sister was. Dark blood splashed across her pelt, adding a deep ginger tint to the mosaic of cream and lilac that already painted her littermate's pelt. Figuring that the healers inside camp would look over the rest of the patrol for now, Lilypool focused her attention on her sister as she began running through a list of all the herbs she would need for wound treatment. "Jacarandabloom! Are you badly hurt?"

Pearlwave with Lilypool, & Jacarandabloom outside of camp Pearlwave could feel impatience beginning to prickle at Lilypoolโs fur. It was after the fact of her suggestion to stay with Silvertide that she realized just how badly the healer was itching to go back to camp. Then they were caught listening to the elder she-cat, and Pearlwave's mind began to wander like it usually does. Not to anywhere in particular, but as Silvertide's voice began to fade into the background, she thought about how itchy her fur was starting to get. The humidity of the air was making her pelt dry so slowly. She could feel each drop of water as they rolled off her whiskers, making her nose twitch with each droplet that fell.
Her mind receded further, lingering on her afternoon with Lilypool. The blue molly hoped it was relaxing for her friend, that she was able to loosen up a little and have fun. It wasn't often enough that they could spend time together like this. Then Pearlwave began to wonder who the tabico spent her time with when she and the rest of her siblings weren't available. Somewhere in the back of her head she thought she remembered the healer leaving with Rookfall once or twice. Curious. She'd have to ask Lilypool about that later, if she got the chance and if she actually remembered.
"MOVE"
Pearlwave is ripped from her thoughts as she recognized Jacarandabloom's sharp toned voice in the distance. She came back into herself as Lilypool threw a quick apology her and Silvertide's way before sprinting back to camp. "Lilypool, wait!" She called out after, starting to step out of the pool. "Um, I'll see you later, Silvertide. Enjoy the sun."
After giving Silvertide a respectful nod, the blue-furred hunter picked up her pebble and was quickly weaving her way through the undergrowth, not too far behind her companion. She'd caught up just a few heartbeats after Lilypool, and the sight of Jacarandabloom made her heart drop into her stomach. She padded dumbly up to the two, wanting to rush forward and fuss over the bloodied torbie, but Lilypool was already in healer mode and she didn't want to crowd. The pretty rock fell from her jaw and Pealwave tried to catch the scout's eyes. "Are you alright? Is... Is that your blood?"
Coppershore with Parrotcall camp That's how it started for the healer, himself. Experiencing the uncomfortable feeling of his own father calling out to him like that, or checking up on him in the healers done during his training. He could recall so vividly how flustered he'd get, making a similar vow to never do the same to his own kits. Yet here he was, expressing his love for his daughter for everyone to hear. Coppershore had learned long ago just how short life could be. It became important to him that he let his loved ones know just how much, and how often, he cared for them. Of course, he now understood the humor behind seeing his children's horrified expressions whenever he did it.
"I am, how could I not be?" Coppershore said with a smile, then dug into his fish. If he knew anything about being a healer is that accidents could happen at any moment, so the time for eating could always be interrupted. He took a couple of big bites, then glanced to Parrotcall as he chewed, swallowing before he spoke. "Thank you, Parrotcall I really-"
The sound of cats rushing into camp is what made Coppershore stop mid-sentence, eyes watching as the boa patrol tumbled in through the entrance. The ginger tom started to brace himself, hoping for the best but preparing himself for the worst. "Duty calls, better each as much as you can now."
Littlefoam briefly with Sunchaser, Quickwind, Honeyfeather, Fernleaf headed to healers den A chuckle rose in the shorter molly's throat at Sunchaser's enthusiasm, something she always appreciated about the golden scout. "I'm not too busy right now, but Fernleaf on the other hand, very hard at work." Littlefoam looked to the aforementioned scout, grinning at Fernleaf as she teased him. Then she immediately worried if her tone was light enough to be taken as a joke, and not as a jab. She'd hate to for Fernleaf to think that she was picking on him. Just as she opened her mouth the apologize, the sharp smell of blood hit her. Littlefoam was immediately on her paws, moving aside for the injured patrol. "Oh my! I gotta go, Sunchaser. Good luck on your patrol!" Then the black and white healer ducked into camp after the last cat, hearing Lilypool not far behind her immediately tending to Jacarandabloom.

Webtangle shifted his weight on his paws as Kiwipaw echoed his offer. The tom gave a slow nod, unable to deduce if the apprentice was thrilled by his suggestion or not. When Kiwipaw did blurt out his readiness to accompany him, a smile found it's way onto Webtangle's face. He was always happy to have company and more so than that, enjoyed sharing his knowledge and thoughts on herbs. "Uhm yeah I was planning to..." he began to say when a commotion at the camp entrance caught his attention. His gaze immediately landed on the battered patrol and his smile disappeared in an instant. "Better get something for the wounded." he mumbled, his previous plans called off the moment the patrol returned. Webtangle turned and disappeared back into the healer's den at a rushed pace, gathering herbs and cobwebs in his jaws to treat the injured cats. --
Jellysplash - Soft Sands - w/ Tealraven 's Wavecrest The younger warrior couldn't help but roll her eyes as Wavecrest's snide remark about her foolhardiness. For a moment, the she-cat was tempted to correct him. Her original plans had only been to take a stroll along where the Palm Coast ended and the mangroves began but his willingness to accompany her into Scarmaw's Lair was not something Jellysplash found herself capable of passing up. It was a rare opportunity to venture further than she usually went so who was she to say no? His words of warning did nothing to less the dazzle of excitement that lined her pale green eyes. "Oh it's not as if I'm looking to battle Scarmaw. A simple glimpse of her will suffice just fine." she reasoned as began to turn to leave.
"Although... how cool of a story would that be if I got to battle that croc?" Her smile widened into toothy grin at the thought. Jellysplash was reckless but not foolish so she knew that any confrontation with the croc would be incredibly dangerous. However, that certainly didn't stop her from imagining some grand tale of surviving the jaws of Scarmaw. The warrior looked over at her less adventurous clan-mate. "Hypothetically of course. While I think it might be epic, I promise I have no plans to go charging, head first into a fight with a crocodile." she reassured. The warrior gave a brief pause before quickly adding, "If she comes after us, I make no promises I won't try to fight her a little though."

Maplebloom she-cat - 23 moons - hunter crush: open location: camp - tags: Aniselight (Tealraven )
Aniselight seemed eager to get out of camp as well. It was just easier to not wait around for another cat that would slow them down. "No need to wait around, we can just head out," Maplebloom offered, standing up to leave, but letting Aniselight lead the way. Driftshadow tom - 67 moons - scout crush: open location: northern part of palm coast - tags: open
Please stand by... Fernleaf tom - 28 moons - scout crush: open Fernleaf shifted closer at Littlefoam's offer to share before being interrupted by Sunchaser crashing into him. He jumped away from the large she-cat and moved behind Littlefoam once it became obvious what had happened. He flicked his ears and grumbled a bit before polishing off the frog while they chatted. Seeing an injured patrol return seemed to seal his fate. "If your only scout for the patrol is Sunchaser, then I better tag along, just in case." He felt bad that Littlefoam had to dart off so quickly though. Honeyfeather she-cat - 23 moons - hunter crush: Saltwhisker location: camp - tags: same as Fernleaf
Honeyfeather watched the chaos unfold around Sunchaser with mild amusement. This hadn't been exactly what she expected from the outing, but she was not at all disappointed. When the smell of an injured cat hit her nose, she was a bit surprised. She watched the injured patrol hurry into the camp and Littlefoam dart after them. It was slightly jarring but she shook the feeling off. Having Fernleaf join might have been a bit comforting, but it also felt like he'd bring the energy level down a bit, considering how they... ran into him.
Sorry I disappeared for a minute there, I have returned.

PARROTCALL into the healers' den / with coppershore
Coppershore's jovial attitude was contagious. Parrotcall smiled into his meal, glad for this break, this bit of normalcy. There was something oddly comforting about the older tom's presence. Talking with him came easily. He just felt so... fatherly. Parrotcall had adored his mothers and he wouldn't trade them for anything on the island or in the deep blue sea, not ever. But growing up, he'd sometimes found himself wishing for a father figure, especially as an apprentice. Even now he seemed to gravitate toward older toms like Coppershore. He was drawn in by the parental pride in Coppershore's gleaming blue and green eyes and the warmth in his tone. "Aniselight and Brightclaw are lucky to have you," said Parrotcall, and he meant it.
He was about to ask Coppershore what raising kits had been like, how it felt to be a parent, when the camp entrance exploded. Parrotcall's head whipped toward the source of the commotion. He was not at all surprised to see Sunchaser in the midst of it; chaos tended to follow the boisterous golden scout like newborn kits trailing after their mother. But a closer look made it clear it wasn't Sunchaser. Not this time.
Parrotcall was on his feet in a heartbeat. "No rest for the weary, huh?" But there was no teasing lilt in his voice as he bounded across the camp. No gleam of amusement in his gaze as he shoved into the healers' den. Not as Parrotcall slipped on a mask of professionalism, the focused expression completely transforming the healer's face into something older, more experienced. Truly, healers never rested.
KIWIPAW camp / standing by
The light in Kiwipaw's eyes winked out at Webtangle's vanishing smile. Dread coiled in his stomach as he turned and spotted what had drawn the warrior's attention. His mouth went dry. The boa patrol. Lemonpaw and Creekpaw were on that patrol. He scanned the battered cats for two smaller figures and was relieved to see them alive and in one piece, but his relief was temporary. "What do we do?" he breathed, but Webtangle had already left his side. Kiwipaw looked over just in time to see the tip of his black-and-white tail disappear into the healers' den. "What do I do?" he whispered to himself. The little apprentice felt like he stood in the eye of a hurricane.
The healers' den is full to bursting. Would one more body added to the fray really make a difference? Or would I just get in the way? Indecision paralyzed him. This was the first emergency Kiwipaw had ever had to deal with. This was what he trained for. And yet, now that it was happening, he-- he--
He swallowed. Screwed his courage to the sticking place. The healers might be too busy now, but eventually someone would need a break. Kiwipaw could jump in to take their place when the shift changed, still fresh and clear-headed. So he made his choice. Lingered at the edge of the den, standing by until he was needed.

JACARANDABLOOM camp / with lilypool & pearlwave Jacarandabloom waited until every last member of her patrol was safely within the camp walls before allowing her razor-sharp focus to disintegrate. Only when she was certain each of them had received treatment would she go in. They needed medical attention first. She didn't want anyone fussing over her. She wasn't even in pain. A detached part of her observed that it was likely because of shock, and she knew she'd be in a world of hurt later. But that would come later. Later.
Her paws were tingling. Her legs had locked, her training the only thing keeping her on her feet, and now her paws were asleep. Odd that her mind chose to focus on that sensation, rather than the bruises and strained muscles along her body. Her body was secondary compared to her tingling, stinging paws. I should sit down. Take a moment to breathe. Then decide what's next. Yet Jacarandabloom's legs stubbornly refused to obey her. It would have been so easy -- should have been so easy -- to just give in to the exhaustion and sink to the ground. But she couldn't force her muscles to relax. The scout swayed on her feet. Thinking was becoming hard. Her thoughts were frazzled.
Distantly, she became aware of someone talking to her. A flowery, herbal scent enveloped her, warm and familiar, as her sister swept toward her. She'd never been so grateful to have a healer littermate. But Lilypool wasn't supposed to show favoritism to family. "I'm alive." Jacarandabloom's voice was low and gravelly. "Go help the others." But Lilypool was asking her a question. And someone else, was, too. Pearlwave. Jacarandabloom didn't have the energy to be surprised to see her rival-turned-friend there. What were they asking? If that was her blood? The scout looked down at her bloodstained coat. I look like a work of art, she thought, and laughed a little deliriously. "It looks worse than it is." Indeed, most of the blood was the boa's.
By the Tides, her side ached. Every breath filled her ribcage with piercing pain. The boa's muscular tail had packed a powerful punch when it slammed into her as the creature thrashed and writhed on the ground in its death throes. At one point, she'd been on top of it, attacking, and then it had thrown her off. She'd hit the ground pretty hard then, too, hadn't she? Jacarandabloom let out a soft groan.

SUNCHASER leaving camp / with quickwind, honeyfeather, & fernleaf "Whoa." Sunchaser leaned back as the wounded cats stumbled past, her green eyes wide with concern. She blinked. "Well, then! I guess, uh-- I guess we'd better be off! Wouldn't want to get in the way!" She waved with her tail as Littlefoam rushed back to the healers' den. She saw Parrotcall's distinctive colorpoint coat disappear into the green right behind her. "Good luck!" She shouted to both. Now there was a useful skill, being able to heal. Sunchaser's chest swelled with pride for her friend. She was so talented! And her brother was, too. She had no idea how they did it, memorizing all those herbs and treatments. They made saving lives look easy.
Fernleaf's calm, rational voice brought her wandering mind back. "Oh, sure, you're more than welcome to come along! The more the merrier, right?" She looked at Honeyfeather and Quickwind for confirmation. "We still haven't decided where we're going, but we can figure it out on the way!" She set a brisk pace down the trail, eager to be away from the smell of blood. It always sharpened her senses, made her feel more on edge, more... hungry. Sometimes she worried that she enjoyed fighting a little too much. Getting out into the jungle should clear her head.
WAVECREST soft sands / with jellysplash
Wavecrest's half-smile tightened, his mouth a thin line. Though her eyeroll sent a wave of irritation rippling through him, he stood his ground, meeting her pale green eyes with a calm blue gaze. They could have been discussing the weather for how cool and pleasant his voice was as he replied, "Are you sure you'll be able to settle for just a glimpse?"
He was older and had more experience. He shouldn't care what a younger warrior thought of him. But Jellysplash's expression was bright with excitement, her toothy grin a challenge, and despite his better judgment, Wavecrest found himself unable to back down. He would not let this cheeky upstart get under his fur so easily. He turned and began to follow her with a heavy sigh. "Fine. As long as I get credited for being the one who kept your epic legend from becoming a cautionary tale."
ANISELIGHT leaving camp / with maplebloom
Aniselight didn't hesitate. "Right. Let's go, then." She padded forward to take the lead, heading across camp, when a familiar voice rang out. She almost stumbled, her face heating rapidly, but she recovered before anyone could notice. She hoped no one had noticed. She held in a sigh, ears flattened against her head. She loved her father, worked hard to make him proud, but Coppershore could be overbearing at times.
Her steps faltered just long enough to let the boa patrol tumble through. Had she kept going they might have collided head-on at the camp exit. Aniselight stood to the side, watching impassively until the congestion cleared, then glanced at Maplebloom. "Looks like we picked the perfect time to make ourselves scarce." No need to stick around and add to the confusion. The surly orange scout couldn't lead them out of camp fast enough. Once they were well away from all the noise and movement, she asked in her low voice, "Did you have somewhere particular in mind, Maplebloom? That you wanted to hunt?"

Lilypool ยป
Adrenaline stormed through Lilypool as she continued to look Jacarandabloom over. Worry creased her features as fear for her sister's well-being clouded her mind. Her sister was right that she was alive, but for how long? Was the blood caked in her fur her own or did it belong to the boa? Regardless on if it was hers or not, the pale-furred scout looked worse for wear.
As a healer Lilypool was no stranger to scouts, or even hunters, hiding their injuries. It was a pride thing, she had learned; warriors did not want to admit that they had been hurt in the line of battle, their egos fragile. It was something the healer would never understand, but it was something that she was not about to let her sister get away with. Jacarandabloom's strong facade be damned, Lilypool was going to make sure her littermate survived this ordeal.
A newfound stubbornness replaced the worry that covered her features. Lilypool straightened her posture, now standing tall beside her injured sibling. The molly's tail lashed. For as gentle as she was, she knew that a good healer was just as soft as they were rough. Sometimes a scout or hunter needed to see that their healer meant business and wouldn't take no for an answer, and Lilypool was doing just that. "Don't lie to me," she growled toward the scout, a sharpness ringing in her voice. "How badly hurt are you? Can you walk without pain?" The tabico doubted Jacarandablom could move without pain shaking her body, but she needed to know straight from her sister if that were true or not. It would be the first step of how Lilypool was going to treat her - if Jacarandabloom could make it to the healers' den then her treatment would begin there, but if it pained her too much to walk any further then Lilypool would simply ask Pearlwave to keep an eye on the scout while she ran to grab supplies and treat her sister outside camp.

Pearlwave with Lilypool, & Jacarandabloom camp Pearlwave shuffled her paws nervously, unsure what she should do. Torn between fussing over Jacarandabloom with Lilypool, or just giving the scout some space. They'd only recently had a conversation about their newfound friendship, and she wasn't aware of the boundaries that came with it, or the lack of. Then her eyes settled on the she-cat's bloodied pelt and she instantly became queasy. Even if Jacaranda had just insisted the blood wasn't hers in a you-should-see-the-other-guy kind of way, it was still unsettling to see all of that scarlet painting her coat.
Before Pearlwave's brain caught up long enough to even think about responding, Lilypool's growl had caught her attention. She'd never heard that kind of ferocity from her friend, and in any other situation she might've been impressed. She could see the gears turning in those green eyes of hers, already setting several plans in motion depending on however Jacarandabloom responded. Her own yellow gaze landed on the injured scout once again, waiting for her response but only hearing that soft groan.
Her paws made a decision right then, padding up to the bloodied molly and placing herself just beside Jacarandabloom, trying to be mindful of any injuries. "Here, lean on me, even if you can walk." Pearlwave spoke in a more gentle voice, leaning in close so she could hear. Her swaying hadn't been lost on the hunter.

JACARANDABLOOM camp / with lilypool & pearlwave Lilypool's voice was fading in and out, and Jacarandabloom found it hard to concentrate on her sister's words, only fragments of sentences registering in her exhaustion-fogged brain, but the sharp tone was crystal clear. Lilypool had growled at her. Actually growled. That was enough to get the torbie scout to snap back to attention. She glared over at the mottled brown molly, one of few cats in the Clan whose stubbornness matched her own -- a stubbornness that seemed to run in the family, apparently.
"I'm not lying," she growled back. "This blood is not mine. Yes, I got banged up a little, and I'll probably have some bruises tomorrow, maybe a sprained paw or a tweaked shoulder. But I'm fine." To prove her point, she forced her stiff legs to move, one step at a time, and staggered forward a few paces. Pain again lanced through her ribs, the movement dizzying her, but she remained standing, weaving a little bit. "See? Fine."
Jacarandabloom would later learn that she had suffered a cracked rib in her right side when the boa's powerful tail had slammed into her and swept her off her feet. Her other injuries, she would discover, were no more severe than bruises along her flank and a wrenched shoulder, sustained when the boa had broken her grip and thrown her off. All things considered, it could have been a lot worse; no other broken bones, no internal bleeding. The hardest part for the active molly would be taking it easy for a few weeks while that rib healed.
But right now, all she knew that was it hurt to breathe and she really, really needed a nap. The adrenaline and shock was wearing off, the dull throbbing in her side steadily increasing, and exhaustion was beginning to take its toll. Even her pride could not stop her from leaning into Pearlwave on her left, her head drooping. "I'm just tired." So, so tired. "You should help the others first. I don't know how badly they were hurt."

Lilypool ยป
Lilypoolโs eyes narrowed, her gaze turning into something akin to a glare, but the lingering concern took away some of the ferocity in her stare. Jacarandabloom was as stubborn as they came in this moment - not that she wasnโt stubborn in general - but Lilypool could be just as stubborn under certain circumstances. It was something the littermates had picked up from their mother as Coconutfall had never been one to foolishly stand his ground. It was their soft, nurturing mother who held a stubborn streak underneath all her gentleness, and it was the same with Lilypool.
However, she cracked somewhat under her sisterโs own gaze and her words, the scout determined to prove that she was fine. Lilypool didnโt buy it, and she wouldnโt, but it was clear to her that Jacarandabloom would not stand still despite the pain that clearly swayed her steps.
Lilypool nodded toward Pearlwave, glad to see that the molly was already pressed against Jacarandabloom. โPearlwave, help me bring her back to camp.โ As she spoke she came in to press against her littermateโs left side, careful to not press into her too forcefully. โThere are plenty of healers in camp right now. Iโm sure theyโre tending to your patrolmates. Thereโs no reason for you to not be looked at, itโs why we have more than one healer,โ she told her sister sternly, using a voice that reminded Lilypool of Vanillabloom and how the white molly had to scold her litter from time to time. It was a voice of concern mingled with sharpness all in one, an odd combination, but it was a mixture that worked and hopefully Lilypool could get her attempt at such a voice to make Jacarandabloom listen to her.

Pearlwave with Lilypool & Jacarandabloom camp Pearlwave expected to insist a couple more times before Jacarandabloom gave in, so the fact that she wordlessly leaned into her was a little more than concerning. She noticed Lilypool immediately move in on her sisters other side, ready to move whenever Jacarandabloom was willing. "You should listen to your sister," as Pearlwave spoke, she dipped her head underneath the scout's chin and lifted it slightly. Just so her head wouldn't droop so low. No need to have a sore neck while the rest of her body was recovering.
"I'm sure the healers have been busy all day waiting for the patrols return. Everyone's in good paws, and you should be too." Pearlwave took a small step forward, just to test if Jacarandabloom would follow, would allow them to help lead her into the healer's den. "Besides, wouldn't you want your sister to be the one checking on you?" She glanced to Lilypool, trying to offer a small smile. "Then you can sleep. I can't imagine how exhausted you are."
