Batpaw // Feathertalon- Batpaw's ears perked when he heard a tiny squeak in his direction. Confused, he looked around to see who that voice belonged to. Batpaw then looked down and noticed that the voice earlier belonged to Dovekit! Batpaw looked at the kit with soft eyes. Kits were a funny concept to Batpaw and he couldn't believe that the great scouts were once silly adorable kits. " Well, we're here to ask a few questions to help the clan Dovekit." Batpaw knew he needed to get answers from the kit to successfully fulfill the tasks, so he was quickly thinking of ways to ask simple questions for him to understand, " Tell me Dovekit, have you or your littermates felt intense itchiness or felt like something was crawling on your pelt?" I sound like a healer, blegh! Batpaw looked at the small kit with his wide eyes, waiting for a response.

Driftshadow tom - 67 moons - scout crush: open location: northern part of palm coast - tags: open
Driftshadow could feel his age whenever he tried climbing trees now, but the vantage point was worth the effort usually. Plus, it kept him out of the way of any crocodile jaws. He was awfully close to the water and you could never be certain. He was in the mangroves, it was cool enough no that the crocodiles were slow, but in a little while he'd be able to spot them sunning themselves. He had this nagging feeling lately and just wanted to take a look around and make sure things were normal. Fernleaf tom - 28 moons - scout crush: open location: outside camp - tags: open
Fernleaf shifted slightly, to keep the sun out of his eyes. He was posted up just outside the camp entrance, waiting to check in with a returning party or to go out with any other scouts available to patrol. He could see the Calm Falls from his spot and was slightly distracted, watching the water sparkle as it fell. I've got these starters up too if you'd like 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢

Pearlwave | calm falls | w/ Lilypool
A ring of water danced across the surface as Pearlwave set her paws into the shallow pool. She blinked and suddenly her paws were smaller, much thinner than before. It was her first day as apprentice and she was in the ocean, doing her first wade and seeing the mass of open water for the first time. Somewhere in the back of her mind her own voice echoed out "Hunter!" as she proudly declared her station, remembering the proud look of her leader as they gazed back at her. The molly blinked again and was reminded that she wasn't at the ocean, but in the shallow pond of Calm Falls. She smiled to herself, the brief moment of reminiscing brought such nostalgic feelings back, remembering a time when things were as simple as eat, train, sleep.
Pearlwave glanced around, looking back at Lilypool and offering a grin as she left the pool to rush over to her friend. "C'mon Lilypool, you've been working yourself exhausted over the last few sunrises. It's okay to take a break every now and again, y'know." She affectionately pressed her pink nose to the calico's shoulder, having to lean down slightly to do so.
"You can be away from those itchy cats for at least an afternoon, so just relax. Please? For me?" And now Pearlwave was pouting, crouching down so she could peer up at the healer. It was the same old routine with the she-cat since the two were younger. She'd plead for a while until Lilypool conceded, if she did, and then she'd be right back to her bubbly self. While the blue furred hunter didn't consider herself close with all of Coconutfall's first litter, she'd only been a moon younger and grew up beside them in the nursery, and thus felt some sort of kinship with each of them. Though, she felt the closest to Lilypool - Jacarandabloom was a close second despite the two mollies always clashing, even with the two of them being in completely different ranks. Her mind briefly thought to the torbie scout, and she sent a silent prayer hoping the boa patrol would come back safely.
Littlefoam | outside camp | w/ Fernleaf
Littlefoam huffed a heavy sigh as she stepped out of the healers den, her mind buzzing with activity. She couldn't remember the last time there'd been that much activity inside of the den, save for when they had to quarantine some cats during a bout of whitecough when she'd first become a full fledged healer. Getting out of the den wasn't enough, she could still hear the complaining voices just behind her. It was almost enough for her to turn right back around and get to work again, but she needed a break, needed to eat.
After picking up a frog from the fresh-kill pile, the black and white molly let her paws lead her to just outside of the camp. She looked for a place to settle and ended up spotting Fernleaf not too far off, noticing the way he seemed to be daydreaming. Hesitation prickled at her pelt, but Littlefoam pushed forward and settled beside the scout, dropping the frog at her paws. "Any suspicious activity, Fernleaf?" The molly asked, a hint of playfulness in her tone as she teased him for not paying attention.
[ Honeyfeather ] Coppershore | camp - healer's den | w/ openThe bright orange tom had just pushed his way back into camp, his maw full of stalks of anise plants, some ripe with its little green fruit. Since the discovery of the boa, they'd been stocking up on the herb just in case. Not to mention that he noticed the boa patrol wasn't back yet, and who knew what kind of injuries they would be bringing back with them. "Woah there." The tabby muttered as he narrowly missed bumping into Whitepaw, she had been exiting the healer's den just as he was about to enter it. He gave an acknowledging nod to the apprentice before slipping past her and through the entrance. He was met with bustling cats and a full den, it was almost overwhelming, but the tom kept on. Coppershore squeezed his way all the way towards the herb stock, dropping his plants when he finally got there. He barely noticed Butterflypaw not too far off as he began sorting everything. [@] Reedshark | camp | w/ open Reedshark stood at the fresh-kill pile, trying to ignore all activity around him for once. He did watch as Littlefoam quickly picked a frog from the pile and then trot out of camp. His green eyes trained at the camp entrance, trying to remember who was on duty for the time being. His growling stomach was distracting enough that he just dropped it and looked back to the fresh-caught prey. The brown tom finally selected a parrotfinch and made his way over to a secluded spot in the clearing. He made himself comfortable before digging into the bird, now watching the others as they went about their camp duties, observing quietly as he chewed. [@]

Fernleaf tom - 28 moons - scout crush: open location: outside camp - tags: Littlefoam
Fernleaf's turned suddenly when he heard the she-cat speak, he must have really had his head in the clouds. "Oh Littlefoam, yes, the clouds were moving very suspiciously, I had to keep a close eye on them," he joked, grooming his paw for a moment, a bit embarrassed to have been caught so off guard. The she-cat looked tired, she had clearly been working much harder than him and he felt a wave of guilt. "Not much to guard this close to camp, if you need help with anything, I'd be glad to, as long as I'm not in the way," he noted. He had noticed the healer's den was bustling more than usual, but it wasn't the kind of place clueless cats like him could just barge in and start helping out.

Dovekit »
Excitement trembled through the tiny tom’s body. It wasn’t every day they got a visitor in the nursery that wasn’t there to leave prey for his mother and then depart, and from what Dovekit could tell, Batpaw didn’t have any prey nearby. There certainly wasn’t any clamped in his jaws, and Dovekit couldn’t catch any prey scent nearby. So that meant Batpaw was here for something else and that excited the kit. Maybe he was even here to play! His littermates were fun to play with, but sometimes it was even better to play with some other cat.
This assumption was shattered when Batpaw answered Dovekit’s earlier questions. For a second the kit deflated, but within seconds he was jittering once more, fur fluffing out and eyes going wide, glimmering with excitement. He was going to get to help the Clan? Dovekit vaguely knew a few things were going on, he had heard Skinkstripe and Vanillabloom talking about some weird stuff when the two queens thought him and his littermates were asleep, but everything they talked about didn’t fully click in his mind.
Dovekit shook his head. He stared up at Batpaw so intently he didn’t even notice Tigerpaw’s entrance. ”I hadn’t felt nothing!” He explained with a vigorous shake of his head. ”I mean, sometimes I’ll feel crawling in my fur but then it’s just Horizonkit’s tail or something,” Dovekit mewed with a shrug of his shoulders.
”Vanillabloom and I are trying our best to keep the bugs away from the nursery,” Skinkstripe mewed from somewhere behind Dovekit. The young tom swiveled his head around until he spotted his mother, the molly sitting neatly in her nest not too far away. She eyed the apprentices with a level gaze, not giving anything away. Lilypool »
Anxiety lapped at Lilypool just like the gentle waves were lapping at her paws in Calm Falls. Not only had so much happened in the past moon, but today was overly hectic. Cats were going in and out of the healers’ den like crazy, some new patients and some older. Most were coming in complaining about a newfound itchiness underneath their fur, and as expected it was found that the pesky bugs had spread even further. It worried Lilypool, and she could only hope that Algaewing’s research found a cure soon. I should be in there helping her with all this right now, she thought solemnly to herself, jaw tight and tail twitching absentmindedly. It was true that her littermate had rounded up help from their father and their now known half-brother Tigerpaw, but even with their help there wasn’t enough paws to go around. Before Lilypool had been pushed out of the den Algaewing had been tending to Whitepaw, and as she was leaving Lilypool had caught a glimpse of Mothpaw making her way inside the den. She had noticed Coppershore returning, and even Stormsurf had slipped back inside the den not long ago, but with so many patients at the moment the Clan needed every healer to be working, not wasting their time doing nothing.
These thoughts would have continued to wear at her mental state had it not been for Pearlwave rushing over and pressing her nose into the tabico’s shoulder fur.
Lilypool shook her head before turning upward to look at her friend. She offered a smile, small and uncertain. ”Yeah, but… It’s just,” she sighed, gazing downward back toward the water with drooping shoulders, ”Algaewing is working so hard, I should be helping her. Or, at the very least, I should be preparing for when the boa patrol comes back. There’s bound to be injuries…” Her other sister, Jacarandabloom, happened to be leading the patrol as well, and while Lilypool knew her scout sister was as capable as any warrior, there was always the possibility of harm befalling her. Worry gnawed at the healer. Her family had fallen apart once, she didn’t want it falling apart again because her sister had been killed while she was out here slacking.
Round, pleading eyes stared up at Lilypool as she once again looked away from the water. Her smile turned to one of amusement, even if it was dull amusement. This was always how it was with Pearlwave - Lilypool would lose herself to her studies and begin hiding away from the world, but it wouldn’t take long for Pearlwave to come crashing in to pull the healer out of the habits of a hermit. Pearlwave would plead and plead, always giving Lilypool this stare with wide eyes she couldn’t resist for long. And, just like always, Lilypool caved.
The tabico sighed, ending the breath with a chuff of laughter. ”Well, I guess, but if something happens I will go back to camp,” she told her friend firmly. While Pearlwave was one of the only cats outside her family that could get her to loosen up, the hunter did understand that Lilypool had an important duty to the Clan, and should an emergency arise, Lilypool would have to put relaxing aside and jump in to help no matter what.

Batpaw // Feathertalon , ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · , moonclaw400- Batpaw raised an eyebrow when he heard Dovekit mention a weird sensation on his pelt from time to time. " Even though it could be your littermate's tail tickling you, are you sure it isn't a bug?" Batpaw took a subtle step back from the kit in case he actually did have bugs. " Have you felt a pinch or something biting you?" Batpaw continued asking questions before he heard Skinkstripe talk from afar. Batpaw dipped his head in embarrassment from not realizing the queen was nearby. " Good afternoon Skinkstripe. I didn't realize you were here." The apprentice's fur stood up as he walked towards the queen, now going to ask her questions. " I'm sure you already know, but just please check on the kits from time to time in case any bugs sneak by into the nursery." He didn't want to seem pushy or seem as if the queens didn't know how to watch for the bugs, so he sighed and began to walk towards the exit of the nursery. Batpaw turned his head to Dovekit and let out a smile, " Let me know if you ever want to play Dovekit." It's been a while since Batpaw was able to let loose and have fun. As soon as he exited he saw Tigerpaw chatting with Troutwhisker. " Sorry to interrupt, but the queens and kits are fine."

PARROTCALL healers' den / with saltwhisker & algaewing
Parrotcall's sapphire eyes softened as Saltwhisker hesitantly spun his tale. He remembered Saltwhisker's mother; he'd been one of the healers who'd tended her while she was ailing. He could almost see the weight of the moons since her passing pushing down on Saltwhisker's shoulders. Yet the happiness that sparked in his gaze whenever he looked at Algaewing... "Perhaps you might tell her what you just told me. Explain that you've been feeling out of sorts lately, and it wasn't fair of you to take that frustration out on her, and you regret leaving things tense between the two of you." The corner of his mouth curled in a half-smile. "I bet offering to help her with her experiment might help smooth things over." He gave the grey-and-white tom an encouraging wink and a gentle push, nudging him over to talk to Algaewing.
STORMSURF healers' den / with vinepool
"Other than Whitepaw?" Stormsurf returned the other healer's chuckle. "I don't think the other apprentices will be keen to take on the boa any time soon thanks to her." They'd indeed been lucky the rest hadn't tried anything too silly or daring in recent days. Stormy green eyes shifted from the lime Vinepool was inspecting to the stack of pepper fruit at his own feet. He clicked his tongue, making a mental note to add it to the other tom's list of herbs that needed to be replenished. Taking stock of herbs was his least favorite chore as a healer, but it gave him an excuse to eavesdrop, at least. His gaze slid back to Vinepool. "I think the 'paws aren't sure what to do with all this tension. Gives them restless energy, makes them do reckless things. Like that Redwave." A subtle segue. A chance to hear Vinepool's thoughts on their fellow warrior. Would he be supportive or critical?

Pearlwave with Lilypool calm falls Of course, Pearlwave wasn't blind to the chaos that was happening in the clan right now. First it was the reveal of Tigerpaw's true heritage, that resulted in Coconutfall's betrayal to his first mate, and family, then it was the first boa attack soon after. Just one of those events could've been enough for a cat to pull their fur out. Not to mention that, to Pearlwave, Lilypool seemed to be in the epicenter of the storm. It was her family that was recovering from a scandal, and it was her job that was responsible for taking care of those that went up against the deadly snake, and the bugs that came with it. It didn't seem fair to the molly that her friend should have to carry that much burden of responsibility on her shoulders, so she was attempting to lighten to load. Maybe it made her look irresponsible, keeping the healer from her job, but Pearlwave hardly cared what others thought about her.
Her thin ears perked up when Lilypool finally caved, and she jumped to her paws. "Oh! Great! Everything's going to be fine, I promise." Yet, even saying it out loud felt close enough to a lie. Pearlwave certainly hoped everything would be fine while Lilypool was gone. It's not like the rest of the healers couldn't operate without her. Then again, there were already so many sick cats, they needed all paws on deck. Her expression hardened and the she-cat tried to ignore her thoughts for now, as well as any small pangs of guilt. Instead, she focused her attention back to her friend.
"If something does happen, of course we'll go back to camp as soon as possible." There's a genuine look on Pearlwave's face, and she leaned in to swipe her tongue over Lilypool's forehead. "For now, let's just focus on trying to unwind, relax, let all of our worries fade away..." As she was speaking, the blue molly was slowly backing up, trying to act as inconspicuous as possible. Then, as quick as she could, Pearlwave bat her paw into the water, aiming to splash Lilypool in the face.
Littlefoam with Fernleaf outside camp A purr rumbled in her throat at Fernleaf's response, finding it humorous. "Oh no, those pesky clouds," she added before taking a bite of her frog while the tom was grooming his paws. Littlefoam licked her whiskers then turned her head up towards her companion, offering a gentle smile. "That's very considerate of you, Fernleaf. I'm not sure what there is for you to do, but just guarding the camp and making sure we're all safe is enough." The black and white molly assured him, then pushed her prey over his way. "Have you eaten yet? We could share if you haven't."

Dovekit »
Dovekit nodded enthusiastically. ”I’m sure! Skinkstripe checks for bugs alllll the time,” he told Batpaw. ”And even if I had bugs I’d make them leave. You just gotta tell them to leave!” He puffed his chest out happily, his words sounding so sure of himself that it was clear he believed all one had to do was politely ask the bugs to leave and they’d leave.
Before he could say anything else the voice of his mother caught his attention. Dovekit jumped, turning on quick paws toward the molly. ”Some cat has to watch the kits. Vanillabloom’s out stretching her legs, but I can say she’s also clear of bugs.” Skinkstripe nodded as Batpaw continued to speak, the ruddy molly looking as if she wanted to say something more, and Dovekit even noticed how his mother’s tail-tip began to twitch. Knowing his mother it was clear to Dovekit that she wanted to say something more, but she held her tongue. Dovekit cocked his head, curious as to what his mother could say to Batpaw.
Before he could focus too much on Skinkstripe’s mood, Dovekit’s attention jumped back to Batpaw. Again he turned, now facing the apprentice with glowing eyes and a beaming smile. ”We can play later! Or tomorrow, I guess you’re kinda busy with bugs right now.” It did suck that Batpaw was busy right now and didn’t have time to play, but Dovekit was sure he’d find Batpaw when he actually had time to play with him and even his littermates. ”Seeya, Batpaw! And don’t forget to tell the bugs to leave!” He watched as the apprentice turned and left, leaving Dovekit with only his mother and littermates once again.
Tigerpaw »
Tigerpaw turned his attention toward the nursery when he noticed Batpaw slipping out. He waved the tom over to where he stood nearby with Troutwhisker. ”That’s good to hear,” the brown tabby mewed, relieved to know that the nursery was currently free from the bugs. He hoped it remained that way during this whole ordeal. The bugs were bad enough as it were, he couldn’t imagine how miserable and upset any of Skinkstripe’s kits would be if they ended up infected.

Lilypool »
In some ways this reminded Lilypool of just a few days ago when Algaewing had brought her out to the Calm Falls for some relaxation. That had been only a few short days after Coconutfall had announced to the Clan that he had fathered Tigerpaw, Whitepaw, and Lionpaw. It had been right after Lilypool's family had been torn apart in a single swoop, and despite doing her best to not show just how badly her heart ached over the revelation, Algaewing had picked up on Lilypool's silent distress. It was no surprise that her mottled brown sister had been the one to notice the other healer's silent pain - they were both healers, they worked in the same den together. Lilypool wouldn't think her other siblings like Redwave, a hunter, or Jacarandabloom, a scout, would have noticed such a subtle change in her considering their different ranks within the Clan, but Algaewing had noticed. Lilypool still appreciated her sister for that day, but that had also been right before the boa attack. It had been the sisters last chance to really just mess around and not worry about anything other than themselves, but now...now there were injured cats coming in and out of the healers' den, cats who desperately needed every single healer to be on call.
Turtlestream came to Lilypool's mind as she stood there. The senior warrior had been bit by the boa some days ago, and while boa bites themselves weren't deadly, it was the possibility of infection settling in that worried the tabico healer. Not even the bugs that infested Turtlestream worried the molly as much as the fact that Turtlestream still wasn't able to leave the healers' den due to not healing quickly, or well at all for that matter. It was worrying. Turtlestream was an older warrior, but she wasn't so old that one single bite should have effected her as badly as this had. If something happened to her, if they lost a warrior all because Lilypool had been slacking instead of working...
Everything that Pearlwave had just said went right over Lilypool's head up until the other molly had given her a lick across her forehead. The healer perked her ears, snapping back to attention. Wide amber eyes looked at Pearlwave. While she didn't say it, her expression was apologetic enough to tell Pearlwave that Lilypool had been zoning out while she had been speaking.
Fortunately it didn't seem to matter much whether or not Lilypool had heard her friend. Even if she had wanted to respond, there was no time in-between the silence and Pearlwave splashing water right into the healer's face.
Lilypool jumped back, spluttering water, shaking her head. "H-Hey!" She called, voice starting startled and then ending with a chirp of laughter. "Warn me next time!" With another chirp of laughter the young molly returned the favor, swiping her paw swiftly through the water in an attempt to splash Pearlwave back.

Pearlwave with Lilypool calm falls The blue molly could only imagine what Lilypool's family were feeling when everything came to light, whether they chose to show it or not. Pearlwave thought of them as a second family, and Coconutfall's confession broke her heart just as it did everyone else's. Though, she'd always been intimidated by the brown tom, any ounce of his acknowledgment had meant the world to her when she was just an apprentice. Not to mention that Vanillabloom felt like a second mother when her own mom stepped away. Kin was a loose term when there were those who helped raise everyone, and while Pearlwave didn't have any sisters of her own, Lilypool felt like the closest thing to one.
Despite it being very obvious that the healer hadn't heard a single word that Pearlwave had said, she wasn't one to be upset with her friend for zoning out, as she did a fair share of that herself. Plus, she's sure Lilypool had a lot on her mind, the tabico couldn't be blamed. Still, a wide, cheeky grin spread across Pearlwave's face as she felt the drops of water begin to soak into her fluffy fur. "Maybe if you were paying attention you could've avoided it!" The hunter teased, laughing as she trotted around in the shallow water. "Plus, there's no warning when it comes to battle, it could come out of..." Pearlwave trailed off, crouching as much as she could without getting her chest soaked. "Nowhere!" Then she shot forward, rushing towards Lilypool and looking like she wasn't going to slow down as she drew closer.

Lilypool »
Pearlwave did make a good point. Perhaps Lilypool could have avoided the splash had she been in reality rather than inside her own mind. That was something the healer needed to work on. In the last few days she had found herself caught up more in her thoughts than what was going on around her. Her mind flitted between Coconutfall’s reveal to the bugs to the boa and, her pelt suddenly felt hot as she thought this, Rookfall. More often than not she would think about the black tomcat, wondering silently if he would peek his head into the healers’ den and ask if she needed to collect herbs. Briefly she had noticed the scout this morning, but he looked as if he were already busy, being pulled away by some of the other Clan’s scouts before Lilypool had even been able to call his name. The tabico had to admit that she had been somewhat saddened by the sight of Rookfall being placed on a patrol, but she knew he was a busy cat, and one of the few scouts left who weren’t stuck in the healers’ den. She couldn’t pull him away from his duties all the time, she needed to be grateful that she had been able to spend some time with him already some days before. Still, it had tugged at her heart to see him whisked away. He was a good cat, and Lilypool enjoyed the time she spent with him.
Lilypool shook her head. Pearlwave had just mentioned that she needed to pay attention. Thinking about Rookfall was the last thing she needed to be doing right now.
Lilypool lashed her tail through the water to splash her flanks. It was enough to keep her on track now, eyes looking directly at Pearlwave, lips pulling upward into a smile. ”I don’t go into battle though!” She told her friend, eyes now wide and watchful as she noticed the hunter crouching down. Lilypool took a step back. For all her training she had never done much with fighting. As a healer she had trained with herbs and flowers mostly, her knowledge being tested on how well she knew what injuries were treated with what poultice. There had been a few times where she was given training on how to hunt, and while not perfect at the task Lilypool had gotten the hang of it decently well. She could take down a bird, but another cat? Battle training had always left her in the dust. The few times she had been trained in that she had failed horribly, and Pearlwave knew that. Her friend had known of the molly’s failures at battle; Lilypool had never understood what about battling had drawn Jacarandabloom onto the path of a scout, but she supposed her littermate thought the same thing about her and her path to becoming a healer.
While battling was not something Lilypool could do, she was quick on her paws. As soon as she realized what her friend was up to, the tabico molly rushed to the side and turned, narrowly avoiding Pearlwave rushing her. On quick paws once more she turned, throwing a paw out in an effort to trip the hunter up.

Saltwhisker nodded. He smiled at the tom, a grateful look dancing on his face. "Thank you, Parrotcall. I feel much better. I think that when you say your problems out loud to another cat, they seem smaller."
He glanced at Algaewing once more, watching her tend to her patients. "Well... she looks busy. I'll go help her and then I'll ask her to talk." He began to walk away, paranoia settling into his fur. He turned around, making Parrotcall face his back as he picked up a batch of neem, aloe vera and brahmi.
The tom's lanky shape slouched as he trotted towards the she-cat, and he looked even more awkward and dorky then usual. His tail tip twitched with unease, but as soon as he set his gaze on the mottled molly, his shoulders relaxed and he straightened his posture, a sudden burst of confidence changing his mood.
"Hi Algaewing. Do you need help? I see you have a lot to do," he mused, talking through the herbs in his mouth. The glazed look in his eyes had disappeared, replaced by another emotion; unbreakable... confidence? The tom hadn't felt so confident in moons.

Pearlwave with Lilypool calm falls Pearlwave wasn't much of a fighter either, but some of her hunters training could be translated on the battle field. Not to mention that she's learned a thing or two from Jacarandabloom over the years. In fact, Pearlwave has similarly bothered Lilypool about her healers training, even going so far as to memorize all the herbs they kept in stock. Whether she retained the information on what they do is a mystery, even to her. Honestly, most of the herbs looked the same anyways, and the ones that she could distinctly remember was because of the experimenting she liked to do with her food. It sometimes got her funny looks, but Pearlwave enjoyed trying to figure out what weird ingredients would taste good together. It started out when she was a trainee, a curious thought popping into her head as she wondered if crab would taste good with dove, and it's all gone downhill from there. Now, she only does her weird combinations away from camp, away from judgmental eyes, or cats thinking she's wasting prey. Pearlwave even has her own small stash of herbs tucked away, she'd feel awful taking from the healer's stock. It's probably her most coveted secret, something she hasn't even shared with Lilypool.
"Better late than never!" The she-cat called out with a laugh, kicking up water as she ran towards her friend. Pearlwave went to leap, trying to tackle Lilypool and was surprised when she landed on nothing but water and the stony ground. She whipped around, ready to pounce again when one of her back legs caught on her friends paw.
"Oof-" With her paws and body outstretched, Pearlwave fell straight into the shallow pool. Water began rushing into her mouth and nose, and the hunter squirmed and scrambled to her paws, spluttering and shaking her head. Her nose stung, and so did her eyes. She sat up and quickly rubbed a paw over her face, forcing air out of her nostrils until things started to feel normal. When the molly had calmed down she looked to the healer, fluffy fur soaked through and sticking to Pearlwave's toned frame.
It was quiet for a moment before she burst out laughing. Pearlwave could only imagine just how silly the scene looked, first with her practically belly flopping into the water, and then her frantic antics afterwards. "You got me real good, Lilypool! I didn't think you had something like that in you. Good job!" Pearlwave purred, shaking out her fur and sending droplets everywhere.
When the water had finally settled, she glanced down and noticed a smooth pebble just by her paws. "Oh, look!" The hunter scooped up the small stone with her paw, bringing it just barely out of the water so she could snatch it up with her teeth. "Pretty, right?" She mumbled around the object in her mouth. It was a round purple pebble that had a few dents to make its unique shape. The color reminded her of a certain scout's eyes, and she couldn't wait to pass it off to Jacarandabloom when the patrol comes back. If they came back. The thought briefly bubbled up, making Pearlwave tense slightly. No, she couldn't think like that.
"Maybe we should head back soon?"
