Lilypool »
On swift paws did Lilypool follow after Algaewing and Basiltail. She remained silent, listening intently to what her companions had to say. It was odd for a boa to bite a cat, or any of its prey in general. Something must really be wrong with the snake if it were choosing to bite, and that did concern Lilypool. A boa wanting to bite was a bad sign. Something needed to be done about that, whether chasing it off or killing it if there was no other option for the reptile. Hopefully her father would have a plan, or if not, then surely the rest of the Clan could come together and do something about the threat.
Hearing about bugs on the snake sparked Lilypool’s curiosity. She had never heard of a snake getting bugs, though the more she pondered on it, the more she realized it did make sense. If cats and other animals, like injured birds that couldn’t bathe in dust, could get infested with bugs, then why not a snake? Now she felt bad for the reptile; having bugs had to be extremely irritating, painful even. No wonder the poor thing lashed out and bit some cats. It didn’t feel good. There was no way she’d be able to help the snake, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to do something to relieve its pain.
Once inside camp Lilypool scoped the scene. Her Clanmates were gathered in various spots around camp, no doubt whispering and talking about the snake attacks. But right now she had to focus her attention on what was going on; if she was called on to help then she needed to know exactly where her fellow healers and potential patients were at.
Her ears perked and she turned her attention to Algaewing when her sister called her name. Lost in her thoughts she had only caught the end of what her littermate had suggested for herbs, but from what she had heard it all sounded acceptable to use. She nodded, still somewhat distant to the overall conversation. ”That all sounds right,” she responded. Knowing now that she was needed, she promised to herself that she’d intently watch and listen to the happenings going on around her currently. Vanillabloom »
The hefty figure of Duskflight coming toward her caught Vanillabloom’s attention. Her ears perked forward. For as concerned as she was, she still managed a warm smile of greeting toward the elderly tomcat as he came to pay her a visit. ”Evening, Duskflight,” she mewed, pulling herself to full attention as the counselor took a seat beside her. ”Hopefully the Ocean will be kinder to us in the coming days.” It was all she could hope for. After Coconutfall’s announcement and the boa attacks today, Vanillabloom could only wish that the Clan’s bad luck was over with, though something told her this was only the start of the storm that was to come.
Briefly did her own grief flicker through her gaze. It flashed as quick as a fish who knew it was being hunted, darting near the surface and then diving back down to hide beneath the currents. The white molly’s shoulders dropped, her head shaking with little energy behind the movement. ”The Ocean does not speak to me.” It never had. She had felt comfort by its peaceful waves and soft sounds, but never had it spoken to her, never had it whispered in her ears like it did to Coconutfall. The Ocean had chosen her to be with the oracle all those seasons ago, but that had never made her closer to the Ocean than her other Clanmates. ”I’m just as lost as any other cat,” she admitted softly, feeling like she could open up to the elder, if only just a little bit.

Tigerpaw »
Tigerpaw couldn’t stop shaking. He felt cold, like he had just emerged from icy cold water and was then hit by a blast of frozen wind. He was glad to have Ripplepaw there with him; he wasn’t sure what he would have done if the molly wasn’t there with him. I probably would drown if she wasn’t here, I’d just stand in the Ocean until I fell in and got dragged under, he thought sullenly, his body drooping more than it already was. He looked a mess, like a soaked bat that had no idea which way was up or which way was down. If anybody said that’s what he was then they wouldn’t be far off. Right now Tigerpaw didn’t know anything. All he knew was that the Ocean had tried telling him something and he couldn’t figure it out. The brown tabby shuddered. How was he supposed to be the future oracle if he couldn’t decipher what the Ocean was saying? Coconutfall could do it. He was sure of it. There was no way Tigerpaw would be able to compare to the current oracle; his father - it was still odd to think of him as such - had made some mistakes, sure, but he had been the Clan’s leader for some seasons now, before Tigerpaw had even been born, so he had experience with the Ocean. Tigerpaw was sure Coconutfall could figure out that message within seconds. Though…Coconutfall would actually have to be willing to talk to Tigerpaw if he were to tell his father what he had experienced.
A tightening in his chest had Tigerpaw pressing even closer to Ripplepaw. ”Sorry,” he roughly breathed. The black furred molly probably didn’t want his wet self all up on her, but he just couldn’t walk on his own. He was as weak as a newborn kit, needing somebody there to guide him with every step he took. For a brief moment Tigerpaw wondered what it would be like if another black furred molly was here with him instead. How would Hootpaw have reacted to all this? Would she have stayed at his side and helped him shuffle back to camp or would she have rushed off the moment something had happened? Tigerpaw hoped she would have stayed, but with how she had been acting around him and his littermates the past few days…something told him she wouldn’t have stuck around.
If anything, he had Ripplepaw. She was a newfound friend, but already she was a cat that Tigerpaw loved having around. He wanted to hang out with her more, get to know her better. From this interaction alone he could tell that she was caring and thoughtful, yet just as much of a curious soul as he was. The neophyte hoped he could patch things up with Hootpaw one day, but if anything he had Ripplepaw.
As he trudged alongside the other apprentice, he briefly heard her speak up. It wasn’t much, but his ear twitched in her direction, blue eyes side-glancing her momentarily. ”Hmm?” He questioned softly, having just enough energy in him to finally check in on her. Coconutfall »
Saltwater scent drifted leisurely over Coconutfall. His paws slipped into the familiar comfort that was sand. In front of him stretched the neverending expanse of the Ocean; he drew in a deep breath, staring out at the water that had given life to HibiscusClan itself. His direct ancestors had stepped out of the waters seasons upon seasons ago, and now here he stood, hopeful that he would be given guidance.
For all the peace the sight of the Ocean gave him, the twinges of anxiety pricked at his skin like a swarm of prodding mosquitos. This was the first time he had directly come to the Ocean since he had been told to name Tigerpaw as his successor. This was the first time he had come down to the beach since he had planted the seeds of chaos into his Clan. While that had not been his intention, he knew all sorts of turmoil would arise. It was why he had avoided his Clanmates for days. It was why he would have stayed inside his den if Archwhisker had not visited him just long enough to spark some courage in his body. And now here he stood, at the Ocean’s edge side by side with the cat his heart had chosen, not the cat the Ocean had chosen.
Coconutfall drew in a breath shaky with nerves. He glanced over at Sandheart, longing for reassurance, hoping that he could give her some sort of comfort as well. Things had not been easy for her, perhaps things had been harder for her. Mostly due to the fact that Coconutfall still had his littermate at his side while Sandheart and Mintsong had a rough relationship now. He hoped that the two could be close once again. It was his fault for the distance between them, but he doubted he’d be able to do anything to fix the gap.
Coconutfall must have been standing there lost in his thoughts longer than he thought. Sandheart’s voice snapped him back to reality. A small smile formed upon his lips. ”Thank you,” he murmured, leaning over to give his mate a quick lick over the ear before he made his way toward the Ocean’s water.
At first he was anxious, staring down at the water that lapped at his paws. His tail twitched back and forth, cautious, unsure whether or not he should step any further. He quickly looked over his shoulder, seeing Sandheart watching from the shore. With her presence he found it in him to take the final steps.
Slowly the brown tabby waded in further, the water soon rippling around the fur along his stomach. The smell of salt water engulfed him, familiar and comforting. He stood there, watching the ripples of the Ocean, silently waiting, wondering if there was anything the water had to tell him.
Moons felt like they had gone by. Just when he was about to give up and leave the Ocean, he felt a shift in the tide. Coconutfall looked up, and just as he stared out toward the horizon, he was met with the sight of a raging wave rushing forward.
Panic shot through him as hot as fire. Instinct told him to run, and as he tried to turn tail and head to safety, his paws slipped in the sand. Water rushed over him as he fell, the current already too strong for him to swim out of its grasp. Fear had him part his jaws open wide, attempting to yell for help, but all he got was a mouthful of water, the salt burning down his throat and into his lungs. His eyes squinted as they burned in pain as well. To no avail he swiped his limbs through the water. There was no hope of getting out of this. The Ocean was going to end him for what he had done. He had gone against what it wanted, and now it was taking its revenge.
Another yowl involuntarily left him when a stronger current pulled him forward. It tossed him into a supine position, and as he looked up, eyes burning, he noticed how the water was no longer clear blue. Instead it was a bright red. His fear only heightened. Blood! And a lot of it. That much blood would attract sharks. He needed to get out of this before any showed up, he needed to free himself of the Ocean’s red anger, but he was starting to grow weak, his limbs failing him, his vision blurring.
Right before he closed his eyes for good a large silhouette flashed in the distance. A shark, he thought, barely making out a striped pattern on the predator before everything went black for him.
The next thing he knew he was standing back right where he had been before the wave crashed over him. He then realized he was still dry, only the fur around his limbs and stomach wet from the Ocean’s gentle waves. Just like earlier he looked toward Sandheart, unsure if she had noticed anything at all. ”Did…did anything happen?” He called out to her, eyes wide, but otherwise calm, sure that whatever happened had only been witnessed by him.

algaewing with lilypool (Feathertalon ) and saltwhisker (☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )
Algaewing's frown deepened, noticing the distant look in her sister's eye. Lilypool was clearly deep in thought, but getting her to speak her mind was like trying to wrangle a bad tooth out of a kit's mouth. "I want to know your thoughts about the bugs," she said. "They definitely jumped onto Swiftsplash. I'm finding bug bites, skin rash, probably an allergic reaction."
A closer look, and Algaewing spotted amongst the small red bumps a thin, wavy line. That's not fleas. "Have you seen a bite like this before?" she said.
She stepped back from Swiftsplash with a sigh. "We'll have to make sure it doesn't spread. If it's anything like fleas..." Algaewing shuddered. "Any cat who so much as scratches their nose gets a lime leaf poultice."
duskflight with vanillabloom
"Out of any cat," Duskflight hummed, "surely the Ocean favors you. It may not be as clear as the whisper of a name, but it speaks its love in the brush of its waves against your paw, the lullaby it sings in the rush of the tides."
He gave her a kind look. "I can't imagine the pain you must be going through right now," he said, "but I am here to listen if you need a shoulder to lean on."
Inside his head, he was calculating. If he brought up the Oracle and the neophyte now, Vanillabloom may close off. If he tried to suggest the Ocean did not whisper in Coconutfall's ear, she may react in disbelief or even anger. He must gently guide her to this conclusion on her own, plant the seed carefully.
"How are your kits?" he said. "Are they doing alright?"

Whalespirit with Butterflypaw - thejadestorm, Hootpaw and Rookfall - aether
Whalespirit gasped with horror as he registered the revolting sight before him. In his many years of healing, he had never seen so much blood in one place. He was on the verge of fainting. Stay strong, he told himself. He was the only one able to help. He quickly got to work. He wrapped the deep wounds on Turtlestream’s body with cobwebs, making sure to soak up all the leaking blood. “Rookfall, I need you to gently open Turtlestream’s mouth. I need to give her anise.” He was surprised by the number of cats on the scene. Thank the ocean so many cats had been alerted of the incident, he thought.

Seabreeze with Algaewing - thejadestorm, Lilypool - Feathertalon, Saltwhisker and Basiltail - ivyeyess
Seabreeze grimaced at such drastic measures mentioned. Were the bugs really that dangerous? A cat could barely catch and disease from a small scratch. “Are you sure? It sounds like a waste of lime leaf poultice,” she asked doubtfully. Lime could come in really useful sometimes. Would taking such precautions put clanmates at risk? But would not taking such precautions put clanmates at risk too? Seabreeze’s mind was a muddle. Just what we need, she thought frustratedly. More trouble.

Sandheart
With - [ Coconutfall ]
Location - [ The Ocean ]
Initially, Sandheart sat peacefully, finding herself hypnotized by the ebb and flow of the Ocean. She wasn't aware of the moment that Coconutfall entered his prophetic trance. She was, however, aware of some strangeness during his interaction with the tides. The water continued to lull lazily onto the shore, over Coconutfall's legs, and it's temperament did not change. It was Coconutfall that changed; his relaxed stance became tense. She witnessed as his pelt bristled along his spine and the muscles that spasmed and tensed for no reason that she could see. Sandheart rose slowly, her green gaze watching with concern. Despite her instinct to protect her mate, she knew she could not disturb the moment. Be okay, Coconutfall, she willed silently.
The moment his trance ended, Sandheart was able to tell. His body stopped it's tensing and his pelt lay flat once more. He was back.
At his call, Sandheart bounded towards him, skipping gracefully along the sand. "I think something happened. Are you okay? You were... twitchy..." She delved her paws into the water in order to reach him and when she did so she circled the tabby tom, scanning for any signs of... well, she wasn't quite sure. Once satisfied that he hadn't been visibly hurt, she began to usher him out from the water with a gentle nudge of her head, leading him to where the sand was dry. "What happened? It looked like... like you were dreaming or something."
Rookfall
With - [ Whalespirit, Butterflypaw, Risingbrook, Ospreyfeather, Turtlestream, Drizzlefur]
Location - [ Gecko Ravine]
The tom jolted when he was called upon and he felt the hairs on the nape of his neck rise; what if he hurt Turtlestream when he opened her mouth? "I-uh-well-" he stammered, looking at Whalespirit.
Thankfully, Drizzlefur interfered. His white-ticked littermate stepped forward, speaking in a calm and soothing voice, "Butterflypaw has come too, this would be great experience for her! I need Rookfall to help me collect the prey we've lost. We mustn't let it go to waste but I don't dare go alone."
Sensible and reasonable; that is how Rookfall would describe his sister. Looking relieved at having an excuse to avoid having to get involved with the healing - something that made him unimaginably nervous - Rookfall and Drizzlefur excused themselves.
"Thanks!" Rookfall whispered to his sister as they trotted towards Drizzlefur's abandoned geckos.
His sister laughed, "No need to look like you've just been hit by a wave," her tone was affectionate and teasing.[ sorry my posts are lack-luster! i want to keep things going but don't have much muse currently xD ]

Ripplepaw The jet black molly wasn't sure wether or not Tigerpaw knew this, but despite its wet feel, his pelt brushing against hers comforted her. Many things had been happening recently, and her mind was overflowing; having a friend by her side made Ripplepaw feel safe. She noticed he was hanging limply, as if he was just waiting for the Ocean to sweep him away in its currents. His eyes gave away how scared he really was, and the confusion settling into his tired mind was clear to the blue-eyed apprentice.
Her eyes narrowed as she thought of her parents. What had really happened to them? Despite the optimism the tabby tom shared with her in camp, she knew there was something more to her story. Why did her mother leave her? Surely there was room for one more cat in the Twolegs' den? She suddenly felt as if claws pierced through her heart; what if that was the reason? What if she needed to leave her beneath that palm, because the Twolegs didn't want another cat? She felt horrible. Perhaps her mother had good intentions; perhaps she was a good cat. Nevertheless, she had wished since her kithood to meet her mother. Maybe, just maybe that day would come; the day during which she meets her parents, and knows their story.
She slipped back into reality as the apprentice beside her pressed his tabby fur closer to her lithe shape. She heard the tom mutter a brief apology, to which she smiled weakly. "It's alright. You don't have to apologize. Whatever you saw must've been terrifying," she murmured, her steps growing softer and smaller. She felt his presence was enough for her to feel better; she found he was a kind cat, and she was glad she had someone to relate to; they both had heritages deemed questionable by the Clan. She had always felt like an outcast; like somecat that didn't belong- an odd one out. She hated her eyes; they were bright and too different. She always stood out because of them, and the contrast they had against her pelt didn't help. She deeply wished they were green, or maybe yellow. She didn't want to be different; she wanted to blend in. She oh-so-desperately wished every night before sleep that she'd have different eyes. Maybe then she wouldn't feel casted out, or different. She'd finally feel like a true Clan cat; a cat who had nothing to do with kittypets. Maybe, maybe then she'd feel loved.
Suddenly she was hit with a pang of regret; she felt ungrateful. Tigerpaw was a friend. He didn't seem to care her eyes were different, or that her mother was a kittypet. Or maybe, he did. Maybe he just pretended he liked her. Maybe he was just using her.
She shook her head a few times; no, that wasn't true. Tigerpaw was nice. I'm just overthinking, she thought, just overthinking.
She heard the neopyhte's soft hum, as if to ask her what she was speaking about moments ago. Embarrassed, she quickly muttered an explanation, "O-oh, it was nothing, nothing important, heh," she chuckled. She felt as if the tabby tom was going to collapse any moment now; and once more, she asked herself, Why him? The stupid Ocean could've sent the vision to.. to...
She didn't want to think of the Oracle. She deemed him unworthy of the position; atleast in her eyes. Instead of sulking in his den, maybe he could finally do something about an injured scout or his currently missing son, she thought. A rock hard realization hit her; had Coconutfall even realized his son was gone? She suddenly felt the need to gauge his eyes out and claw every hair off of his pelt. Who am I kidding? He can't get out of his den, let alone know his son is gone, she pondered grimly. Atleast she found a reasonable argument if they caught them.
A sigh escaped her tired shape. This was all too much, too much for them. And she damned the Ocean once more, eyes gleaming in fury; she realized this wasn't fair. They were only apprentices, and the Ocean was a curse. A curse controlling her Clan.

Saltwhisker
His eyes narrowed in curiousity as he approached Swiftsplash sleeping figure; whilst he stood near Algaewing, he could see weird bites. They were nothing like any other bug bites; they looked way worse to the tom.
Following the older she-cat's instructions, he gathered the herbs needed to bring down the scout's fever. He realized he'd probably never think of these herbs by himself, and becuase of that, he felt ashamed. He wasn't that young anyway; he'd been a healer for a bit now, but not enough to remember herbs, clearly. Horrid thoughts burrowed their way into the back of his mind; what if the scout didn't live? No, no, he will, he will, I know it, he reassured himself wearily, his jaws clenching and his pelt bristling. The creator of these horrible thoughts was Saltwhisker himself; he couldn't do anything about them. He'd just have to patiently wait for them to leave his mind.

Lilypool »
Now that she was actively paying attention, Lilypool was able to step closer and take a better look at the rash that Swiftsplash was inflicted with. Her eyes narrowed, deep in thought. This looked different than the bite marks a flea would leave behind. From far away it was similar enough in look that Lilypool did think it was fleas at first, but now she was starting to spot the differences, and there were too many of them to deny that this was something different.
Lilypool looked at Algeawing. She shook her head. ”I haven’t.” Leaning in closer so only her sister could hear she whisper, ”This looks like something new.” This wasn’t something she wanted to say out loud just yet. The Clan was already in enough panic as it was, hearing that their healers was dealing with something brand new wouldn’t do her Clanmates any good. Eventually the news would come out that his was something new, but right now Lilypool wanted to keep it on the downlow. Perhaps Whalespirit, the eldest out of the healers, would know something about these bugs that Swiftsplash had contracted. ”For now, though, we treat it like fleas. I can’t see why the treatment would be much different,” she murmured in thought. Fleas and whatever this was had their differences, it was easy to see once up close to the rash they left behind, but surely the solution was the same as fleas, or about the same. Lilypool nodded as her sister suggested lime poultices for any cat who so much as began to scratch. Her eyes then flickered over to Seabreeze. ”Algaewing has a point, and luckily we have plenty of limes to go around right now. We should try to treat this before it becomes an infestation.” That was the last thing HibiscusClan needed right now. Between the drama her father had stirred up among the Clan, a bug infestation was the last thing any cat needed.
Vanillabloom »
Vanillabloom sat silent as she listened to Duskflight speak. In a way he had a point, surley the Ocean thought something special of her if it had chosen her as Coconutfall’s mate some seasons ago. Sometimes she found herself wondering what it was about her that caught the Ocean’s attention, but there had been a time when she had been secure in her relationship, sure that the love between them was mutual, so she didn’t question it, not very often. Sure, she had known of Coconutfall’s affections toward Sandheart, but she had never imagined anything more would come from it once the Ocean had spoken. For a while there it seemed as if Sandheart had moved on, finding comfort in the presence of Urchinclaw. He had been a fine tom, one that surely would have made a wonderful mate for Sandheart, but then sickness had claimed him, taking him back to the Ocean. Perhaps that was when Coconutfall and Sandheart had rekindled their old flame. Sandheart had needed comforting, and who else to give her that than her first love?
In a way it sounded romantic, like a true love story, and Vanillabloom would agree with that, but on her end of things, well, it wasn’t quite as romantic.
She sighed. ”I know the Ocean speaks to me as it does the rest of our Clanmates, with its waves and its tides, but that’s just it, I’m no more special.” Acknowledging that wasn’t something that pained the molly. If anything it reassured her, made her feel a little less alone. She had Clanmates there who could help her, cats who were on the same level as her. There was even a small part of her that wondered if that even meant she could find love with another cat somewhere along the line. She enjoyed the friendships she had, but a part of her had always been something of a hopeless romantic. She had dreamed of being with another cat who loved her as much as she loved them, and dreamed of raising another litter or two. Only a few days ago she had had that, the very life she had always dreamed of, hoping to soon raise another litter of kits, but it had been taken away from her in a single moment.
More than anything, though, she appreciated how she had so many Clanmates willing to be there for her during these times. Even with everything going on, she had a support system. The white molly smiled softly. ”For what it’s worth, they’re doing better than I could imagine. Redwave is…bitter, but he’s always had a temper.” Her eyes fell downward as she spoke of her son; pain returned sharply in her chest when she remembered the interaction she had had with him after he had brought Swiftsplash back to camp. That had been the first time he had ever snapped at her, and Vanillabloom still didn’t know how to truly process all of that. She knew her son had already left camp again, and for as much as she wanted to track him down and try talking to him, she knew it would be no use. The fury in Redwave’s amber eyes had been enough to tell her that not even she could calm him down right now, and knowing that hurt her on a whole other level, one that she wished she never had to go through.

Tigerpaw »
What did all of that mean? Why did the Ocean show me? What is it trying to tell me? These thoughts raced through Tigerpaw’s mind at a million miles an hour. So much had happened to him in that vision, from being trapped under a blood red ocean to almost drowning in its clutches. He shuddered visibly. That had been a lot to take in. even now he was still shocked by it all, the ferocity, the intensity. He had never know the Ocean to be as scary as it had been; he had heard stories of mighty storms blowing across the sea, churning the waters and flooding the beach with hungry waves, but he had yet to live through such a storm to know what that was like. But even still, he doubted such a storm was as bad as what he had just gone through in his vision.
Listlessly he trudged on back to camp. If anything he was glad to have Ripplepaw at his side. He wished he could explain to her what had happened, but there still wasn’t any words for it. His mind drew a blank everytime he even attempted to speak about it, as if something unnatural was stopping him from mentioning it to the black molly. Something was there holding his tongue, or maybe there was a part of Tigerpaw that did not want to speak about what had happened to him just yet. He needed time to think it over, try and figure it out. He needed to know if Coconutfall had gotten any sort of sign as well before speaking about it to any other cat. Tigerpaw just hoped he could actually get to his father to tell him.
Eventually the familiar sight of camp came into view through the dusk. Ever so slightly Tigerpaw perked up. He pushed on a little faster, nudging Ripplepaw. ”We’re home,” he breathed, excitement sparking in his voice, the first sign of recovery after his ordeal. Beyond wanting to find a way to express what had happened, the next thing Tigerpaw wanted more than anything was curling up inside the warmth of his den. Drying off sounded like a wonder to him right now, and with all energy depleted, he wanted to sleep for as long as he was allowed.
Coconutfall »
One thing Coconutfall knew for sure was that he was tired. His limbs ached and his chest heaved as he drew in deep breaths, his lungs feeling as if they had been trapped under the Ocean for way too long. He felt ready to curl up into his nest and sleep for moons. Curious, he glanced out toward the horizon. Creamy pinks and oranges painted the sky, though the colors were fading fast, giving way to the darkness of night. The sun was already covered by the Ocean’s water, telling the oracle that he had been stuck in his vision not for too long, perhaps only a minute or two.
This wasn’t new to him. He had had visions before, but never something as intense as the one he just came back from. This one left an ominous tone ringing in his ears, a bitter taste in the back of his throat. He had been in danger in that vision. Coconutfall shivered. Something was coming, something bigger than what the Clan was already going through. The Ocean was warning him of a bloody wave, and nothing good could come from that.
A flicker of relief crossed his features when Sandheart bounced out into the Ocean toward him. He stood there, watching the molly as she circled him, checking him over for any signs of what he was assuming was injury. She would find nothing, he knew that. The Ocean did not maim. Once she was satisfied with her check up he turned to walk alongside her, legs somewhat weak. Luckily he was able to keep up with Sandheart, and at any point he felt as if he would tumble over he was able to lean against her.
”I’m fine. Tired,” he rumbled. Coconutfall knew that he should probably check in on the injured Swiftsplash before calling it a night, but that vision had worn him out, and now he had to ponder on it and attempt to figure out what it could even mean. Surely he could check on the whole boa situation in the morning unless things had gotten out of paw from the time he left camp until now. ”The Ocean spoke with me, gave me a sign. I was swallowed up by the Ocean, and the water turned red, like something was bleeding.” He shook his head as he continued on his way back to camp. ”I’m not sure what it means just yet, but I do know it can’ be good.”

[ is it okay for me to make a rogue cat? i've had an idea for one and think it would be fun. he wouldn't be a kittypet, instead he is a 'community' cat, where he is super familiar with many humans and has no distinct home. i was thinking for now that he can just be an outsider that the clan know of yet rarely interact with (so i wouldn't really rp him right now) and then later when the first wave of plot dies down, then i could have him join the clan? ]

(( ☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · one trick i use is to quote someone's cool post and sneak down to the bbcode tab on the bottom to see the code; html is relatively straightforward to tweak and make your own))
algaewing with lilypool (Feathertalon ), seabreeze (swallowtail ), and saltwhisker (☾—ivy。˚⊹♪:¨ · )
"It may sound like an exaggeration," Algaewing said to Seabreeze, "but do you remember the Season of the Fleas?" She shuddered at the memory of her apprentice days. "Bugs are far too contagious, hopping to and fro to drink from anything with blood. Just one can lay their eggs and multiply."
She nodded to Lilypool. "Better nip it in the nose now than have the entire clan scratching their pelts off. It is good to keep track of resources though, so you bring up a good concern, Seabreeze. We'll have to keep inventory."
Algaewing looked over at their stock of herbs. "Maybe we should experiment with a flea preventative. That way we can treat the whole clan rather than waiting for each cat to catch bugs."
duskflight with vanillabloom
Duskflight watched her carefully as she spoke of Redwave, noting her downcast eyes and the pain she was trying to hide. Something happened, he thought.
"Bitter?" he said softly. "Did he say something?" A weighty pause. "Was he disappointed perhaps... that he was not the next neophyte?"
butterflypaw with whalespirit
Butterflypaw nodded vigorously. "I've got her mouth," she said, trying not to show how badly the smell of blood was getting to her. She gingerly reached over to Turtlestream's maw, guiding her jaw open for the anise.
She kept her eyes up, off the wounds as Whalespirit dressed them. Get over yourself, for Ocean's sake! You're going to be seeing a lot more blood than this! Inhaling slowly, Butterflypaw let her eyes glance off of Whalespirit's paws, trying to watch his technique.
"Turtlestream, you're going to be okay, stay with me," she said quietly, unsure if her words will get through to the unconscious cat - perhaps they were more for herself than anything.

Go for it! I feel like that would be really interesting, something we can slowly integrate into the Clan life like you suggested

Vanillabloom »
The former healer's jaw tightened in thought. Duskflight was asking something rather personal, not that she minded, but after everything that had happened in the past few days, it was hard to speak of such topics. She'd give the elderly tom an answer, but she needed a moment to steel her nerves lest she end up showing a bit more sorrow than she felt was necessary in the moment.
Eventually she broke the silence, softly replying, "I'm not sure. Maybe. He asked Coconutfall a few times what it would be like as the Clan's neophyte, but I always thought it was just youthful curiosity. He's always known that it could have been Algaewing or Lilypool chosen. I never saw him get angry about that." Vanillabloom never thought it odd when her son asked about the neophyte rank; back then he had a one in three chance of being picked, up until Coconutfall had sired another litter in which the true neophyte had been born. "He's just been extremely distant ever since Tigerpaw, Lionpaw, and Whitepaw were revealed as Coconutfall's kits. I think he just has a lot on his mind."

Sandheart
With - [ Coconutfall ]
Location - [ The Ocean / Back to Camp ]
Sandheart walked close beside Coconutfall, letting her coat brush his, and not faltering on the occasions when he's side pressed against her in an attempt to re-balance himself. For such a short time the Ocean had him in it's grasp, it seemed to have sapped him of his energy. It was a curious thing, really - something that Sandheart would never be able to experience. It can't be easy being the Oracle...she looked to her tired mate, feeling a protective urge keep him safe from any harm.
Her ears swiveled, listening as he described the events of his vision. It... wasn't exactly the helpful answer that she had been hoping the Ocean would give. "Blood in the water?" she mimicked, sounding fearful. Perhaps it was a sign of the boa? Boa's were not usually aggressive and yet Swiftsplash had been attacked by the snake. Was the Ocean warning them to be careful? "Maybe it's warning us about the boa?" She mumbled, unsure of her own thoughts.
All she knew now was that they needed to return to camp so Coconutfall could rest. There would be plenty of time to speculate about the vision once they were sufficiently well kept.

Whalespiritwith Ospreyfeather, Risingbrook and Turtlestream - me, Hootpaw - aether, Butterflypaw - thejadestorm
Whalespirit nodded as Butterflypaw opened Turtlestream's mouth for him to give anise. He had no idea why he had asked Rookfall to do it. His head was still in a whirl from the sight of Turtlestream. Maybe it was because he trusted Rookfall more with Turtlestream? Don't show favouritism, Whalespirit, he said to himself in his head. Quickly squeezing a bundle of anise into his unconcious sister's mouth, helooked up, saying,"Ospreyfeather, Risingbrook, Butterflypaw, Hootpaw, I need you to help me pull Turtlestream back to camp. She needs moreadvanced healing treatment."
