( Tealraven Thank you so much! I'm glad he's hitting the right balance, I worry that too many questions will seem scatterbrained or annoying. Shapepelt and Pipitpaw stopped talking after they left camp, so Ravenswoop might not be able to hear them talking, although Shadepelt is probably whatever the direct opposite of a sneaky walker is (I say this, now absolutely and utterly planning for Shadepelt to break the vow of silence in the future)) ( little blu ♥ The shrews that Olivesky so selflessly hunted for her clan have gone to fill the absolute waste of space and air that is Sunclaw. Also, for Shadepelt, how many leaders would she have worked under? All the way to being an apprentice went Nettlestar was alive and rebuilding the clan? Or is that far too far back?)
Shadepelt with Pipitpaw and Ravenswoop Gravesite near Tumbling Falls @ Yacinthe , Tealraven Holding her head awkwardly tilted to keep from dragging the long fluffy dandelions on the ground, Shadepelt clambered heavily over a tree root, and saw Ravenswoop, all puffed and agitated. But then, they were disturbing her at her mate's grave, of course, and the thought flitted away from her as soon as it had arrived. She padded to Duskbreeze's headstone. Surely Ravenswoop, of all cats, would forgive her lack of acknowledgement for a moment. It was more important to carefully, ever so carefully put down her burdens, arranging them just so. One, she allowed herself to put away from the rest and lean down, breath raggard for a different reason than age, to blow away the tufted seeds. Hello, my kit.
She breathed there, just for a little while, surely no time at all.
But hers was not the only grief, and in a twisted, painful way, there was comfort. She rose, to carefully touch her nose to Ravenswoop's shoulder. My sympathy, she tried to convey, my gratitude for your love for her.
Sunclaw with open Headed to Campion's Cave @ Tag
The was no star-damned point be being up this early, but thanks to that frigging idiot Nightwhisker, sleep wasn't happening. Sunclaw hauled himself up and out, shaking half the bedding of his nest out of his coat, which was going to need grooming, again, and heading to the freshkill pile, which was short, again. Taking two shrews from the meager offerings, he took them out the entrance tunnel and into what looked like satisfying sunshine. Timberwolf was up on watch when he glanced up, but eating in the Champion's Cave sounded better to Sunclaw, the entrance sunny and the rocks hopefully already warm. He trotted into the cave, eyes sticking, as they always did, to his print on the walls, and settled down to eat.
Coldpaw with Goldensong, Aspenspirit, and Lynxspots On border patrol, headed to the Owlclan border 𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 , Tealraven , and little blu ♥
He practically fell into the chilled-but-rising air outside, scampering after the three adults with his pupils swinging wildly between thing and full as his eyes tried to adjust to the bright outside light and focus on everything all at once. Coldpaw swore that scents traveled further in the morning. He hadn't seen many cold foggy mornings since his apprenticeship and the start of his ability to go outside, but something about how fog sat on the ground made him think that scents did the same, only less visible. Possibly sound, too? His ears swiveled, trying to judge it.
The camp cave was never warm, but never cold like the outside either, a curious constant that might have been one of the points in it's favour when it was chosen by the clan. Their territory was dangerous, yes, but also vast, and just in the snippets Goldensong had shown him already he'd seen other spots that Crowstar could've picked.
No, he corrected himself, swerving around a rock that the warriors hopped over instead of testing his slightly shorter legs. It was Russetstar that had chosen camp.
Keeping up with a full patrol headed at speed was too exhausting to leave much room to think. It could be important though, he filed away his thoughts about the cold and it's effect on sense for later. Maybe warriors used it to their advantage, or knew ways around it. For now, he soaked in the information of his senses, and stretched out his legs.
(Coldpaw: Wow, it's so hard to think following the patrol! - proceeds to get distracted thinking of the historical implications of camp placement - )

- - - ( not at all! annoying to the other cats, maybe. if anything I think he'd get along great with my swanclan apprentice willowpaw. they could talk each other's ears off all day long cx
also sunclaw's intro actually got an audible laugh from me, what a sourpuss. ) - - - RAVENSWOOP gravesite near tumbling falls / with shadepelt & pipitpaw Ravenswoop let her hackles fall into a smooth black coat once more. She raised a paw, licked it, and drew it swiftly over the back of her ear, something she did often when she was feeling self-conscious. She was embarrassed she had overreacted so badly to the presence of other cats. She hadn't been expecting company; most of her Clanmates stayed closer to the falls. The privacy here was one of the reasons she'd picked it as the place for Duskbreeze's grave.
The dark-furred warrior stepped politely out of the way as Shadepelt ambled over to the headstone. She saw that the greying she-cat clasped wildflowers in her jaws and felt a twist in her chest. Dandelions. Duskbreeze's favorite. It was one of the first gifts Ravenswoop had gotten for her early in their relationship, before they became mates. She watched as Shadepelt arranged the delicate flowers on the stone and then heaved a ragged sigh that sent the dandelion tufts dancing away on the draft from the falls. Ravenswoop tilted her head back, observing the seeds as they twirled up and up into the sky, eventually fading out of sight.
A light touch on her shoulder drew her attention back to the elder. She smiled weakly and dipped her head in gratitude. A most thoughtful gesture. Thank you. She should've known Shadepelt would be here, too. The elder surely missed her daughter as much as Ravenswoop did. Thus far, they hadn't managed to run into each other, but just because their visits never coincided didn't mean Shadepelt hadn't been coming to pay her respects as well.
What did surprise Ravenswoop was Pipitpaw's presence. The young tom had been only a few moons old when Duskbreeze was killed; she doubted he had any memories of her. She tilted her head at a questioning angle, gaze flicking from Shadepelt to the apprentice. And what are you doing here, young one?

PipitpawGravesite - to Shadepelt and RavenswoopTiri & Tealraven - Pipitpaw's tail fluffed up with embarrassment when Ravenswoop's questioning gesture. Hunched over, he flicked his ear towards Shadepelt and tail towards the sky, I'm keeping an eye out. He knew it seemed a bit odd, with dandelions also hanging from his mouth. Now that Ravenswoop was here, however, he wasn't so nervous. The young tom decided then was a good time, while the much stronger she-cat was keeping Shadepelt company, to quickly slip off towards his parents' grave only a little further off. I'll be back, he waved with his tail.
Sunfeather and Turtlesnap were buried together, as they had died, further into the underbrush of a few stubby cedars. It was still close enough to hear the falls, but only barely. Unlike Duskbreeze who was remembered by her family and mate, Pipitpaw was the last of either Sunfeather or Turtlesnap's family. Their grave reflected it. Although Shadepelt and Olivesky helped bury them, the only markers of their grave - the claws of the mountain lion they gave their lives to run off - lay over top the mound, dirty from having soil thrown over them on the occasions where they seemed less like trophies and more like the retched beast digging into them even in death. Pipitpaw was still unsure which felt right. He placed the dandelions over the mound, dipping his head in respect. The air was oppressive, as though it wished to drag him down into the grave as well. Even the sudden chirp of a songbird above made him jump.
He did not stay long, rushing back to his companions only moments after he arrived. His excuse was done with. When he got back he sat a few fox-lengths off from the mourning she-cats so as not to disturb them. He felt a great pity for the pair; though it was sudden, his parents had been lost in a manner common within their mountain territory to an every day accepted risk they had built traditions around. They had accomplish something bravely for their clan in the process. The way they lost poor Duskbreeze, however, was just a plainly cruel twist of fate, the fault of other's negligence.
He had only really known either she-cat in their grief-stricken state, and wondered what they were like before Duskbreeze's departure. I always think of Ravenswoop as a tense cat, but maybe she wasn't always? How much of Shadepelt's odd behaviour was just her age? I guess an apprentice like me will never know first hand. He just hoped they could find some sort of peace and happiness among the clanmates they had now.

( Tealraven Ooo, I'd be keen for that, come gathering time! Coldpaw would have just, so many questions about other clans. For Duskbreeze, what would she have looked like? I don't want to assume things about your oc, when Shadepelt thinks of her I want to describe her as you picture her)
( Yacinthe Pipitpaw is just such a cinnamon roll, too pure for this world! He's so kind to follow Shadepelt around keeping her safe and his complicated feelings about his parents are just *chef's kiss*)
Shadepelt with Pipitpaw and Ravenswoop Gravesite near Tumbling Falls @ Yacinthe , Tealraven Shadepelt refocused on the grave, the moment of shared communication between her and Ravenswoop both sharpening and lightening the burden of grief. Different to the support of Pipitpaw, more a sharing and less a purehearted gesture, but treasured just like it.
She'd been so proud, watching Duskbreeze and Ravenswoop court. They'd been so in love, not always obviously, not always wit burst and overflowings of emotions, but with such sincerity. She's always been close with the youngest of her children, when she'd gone into the elder's den practically the morning after Duskbreeze's apprenticeship ceremony and there'd been nothing but time on her paws, time to hear all about every mouse Duskpaw had killed and every pawstep of a border patrol. Now, like this, she was so glad of every moment she'd had with her daughter, that she'd had the time to hear all those stories, to see her grow into such a wonderful warrior. Her head on the grass, the tip of her nose just pressed against the headstone, Shadepelt lost herself in memories under the sunshine.
At some point, the heat on her fur rose to be too much, and she opened her eyes. Had she fallen asleep? Surely not, but the light seemed much brighter. Maybe it had been moment, but maybe not, and the uncertainty she suddenly felt about it was enough to send shivers down her spine.
Everyone else - on watch for predators. Shadepelt - naps seems fine, surely

- - - ( had to double check my joining forms. ^^' duskbreeze is a pale brown molly with golden eyes. 38 moons at death. i imagine she was probably lighthearted and cheerful to balance out ravenswoop's stern demeanor, but beyond that her personality is up for interpretation!
also shadepelt and pipitpaw are making me feel all the feelings </3 ) - - - RAVENSWOOP gravesite near tumbling falls / with shadepelt & pipitpaw Ravenswoop nodded gratefully to Pipitpaw and cast a concerned glance at Shadepelt when the elder's back was turned. Given the inherent dangers of their mountain territory, it was unwise for elders to venture beyond the safety of the cavernous camp. Yet Shadepelt had begun to turn up in increasingly odd places; ever more so since Duskbreeze's death. Sometimes the elder had no memory of leaving the camp. Ravenswoop had never seen an old cat affected by age in this way, but Shadepelt was the oldest cat in the Clan. Over time Ravenswoop had come to think of her as a second mother. She was always so kind and faithful. It was disheartening to see her slowly losing the bright twinkle in her eyes.
Don't go too far, Ravenswoop cautioned with a wave of her tail. She felt a pang of worry as the apprentice disappeared into the underbrush. Aspenspirit would kill her if something happened to him on her watch. He must be going to visit Sunfeather and Turtlesnap, she realized. Their gravesite is not far from here. That must be why he really came. She couldn't imagine having to deal with such a crippling loss at such a young age. It was small consolation, but at least Pipitpaw's parents had died heroically.
As uncomfortable as she was with letting Pipitpaw out of her sight, Shadepelt's need for protection was greater. Ravenswoop turned her gaze back toward Shadepelt and noticed that the she-cat had dozed off. Shaking her head fondly, Ravenswoop settled into a comfortable seated position to wait, finishing off the squirrel she'd caught earlier. She remained alert the entire time, eyes constantly scanning the hilly landscape, ears swiveling at every sound. The warm sun on her fur and the dull roar of the Tumbling Falls was drowse-inducing. Ravenswoop had to stand and stretch her legs to keep from dozing off herself.
Just when she was starting get anxious about Pipitpaw's return, the tom came trotting back through the underbrush. The dandelions he'd brought with him were absent from his jaws. She mustered a smile for him and gestured with her tail to Shadepelt. Thank you for accompanying her. Ravenswoop leaned over, about to rouse Shadepelt, but the elder was already waking up. The black molly offered her shoulder should Shadepelt need help to stand. She motioned with her muzzle in the general direction of the camp. Are you ready to head back, Shadepelt? She didn't want to rush her, but it was not safe to linger in one place for long.

Shadepelt with Pipitpaw and Ravenswoop Gravesite near Tumbling Falls @ Yacinthe , Tealraven No, no Ravenswoop was still there, and not upset with her either, offering a shoulder to lean on. She sighed, relieved, and took the offered support to get to her feet, her claws uncomfortable on the ground. Once she was steadied, she nodded. Pipitpaw was sans-dandelions, so had presumably disappeared to his parent's grave at some point. It was shameful, for her to lose track of him so easily. She'd have to be better in the future.
But for now, back to camp. She started back. Having the sun in her pelt and the sympathy of shared loss and support from her clanmates had done her a world of good, she reflected. Why, the last time she'd spent any significant time out of the camp cavern was... recently? Perhaps only yesterday. It had been raining, and dull, and she'd been alone. Shadepelt clambered awkwardly down a little slope, feeling the stiffness in her old joints, headed out of the trees and into a clearing.

PipitpawHeading back to camp - To Shadepelt and RavenswoopTiri & Tealraven- Pipitpaw trotted alongside the older cats, guiding Shadepelt back to the cavern. As they broke through a couple of trees, however, a great shadow cast overtop of them. Pipitpaw's head shot up as his body dropped to the ground, signalling to the other two that something was there. Though the creature flew over a rocky cliff its cry was that of an eagle, and he wipped his ears back and up thrice to tell his clanmates as much. Once for false alarm, two for prey, and three for predators, he could hear Aspenspirit's teachings in his head. The beast flew back over the cliff, its brown feathers beating shockingly close. Pipitpaw glanced around, looking for shelter that could cover them. Along the very cliff it flew over was a small dip inward, filled with bushes. It was a tight fit and there seemed to be some thorns, but it was better than being in the open. He quickly nudged the older cats towards them. That way!

Yacinthe I think Tealraven said they wanted Ravenswoop to be protective over Shadepelt and a little maternal over Pipitpaw, so as long as we're within those boundaries, it should be okay? Her claws caught in her own foot pads, pinpricks of man as she ran into buses, ducking low to the ground to avoid rustling them. Ravenswooop appeared, so quick and fit compared to her, and hauled a branch out of the way, to allow her to fully clamber into the tangled undergrowth. As soon as she felt out of the open, she threw her head up, eyes scanning desperately for the threat she was trusting was there.

Tail fluffed in fear, he and Raveswoop helped Shadepelt back onto her feet, though the elder seemed to find her determination to stand again quickly. He would have to ask Hazelpool and Myrtlepaw to look her over when they got back. For now he leapt for the bushes. He turned and watched the skies above Ravenswoop and Shadepelt for the eagle, unsure if it was hunting them or flying past. Hurry! He flicked his tail.

Ebonypaw || in camp || open!
Ebonypaw was bored.
This was not necessarily new news - the moment Ebonypaw stopped working on the medicinal stocks or wasn't out hunting for the bitter tang of feverfew, the young tom's mind would zone out in the fields of agonizing boredom. He'd stare blankly at a tree, lil' bit of drool coming from his mouth, as he waited for it to do something interesting like dancing, or sprouting wings and taking off into the atmosphere.
What's worse is that it felt there was simply no one to talk to! The camp's a blank, cloudless sky! Ebonypaw considered some random loud yowling before dismissing it as not worth being sent to elder's duties for. Then again, even elder's duties was at least doing something.
Maybe I should do a hop skip and a cross over to Swanclan or something, he thought. A terrible idea, that I will most definitely get in trouble for but at the very least it'd be something interesting...

RAVENSWOOP crowclan camp / with goldensong; mentions coldpaw & webpaw Ravenswoop sat by the freshkill pile, picking apart the bluejay she'd selected for her breakfast. She spat out a mouthful of feathers, nose twitching, and stifled a sneeze. Ugh. Now I remember why I don't eat birds. But she'd chosen to leave the larger prey for someone who needed it more than she did. She sighed and tore off another mouthful of meat-and-mostly-feathers, chewing half-heartedly.
Her neck and shoulders were still stiff from sleep, and her legs were a little sore from her encounter with the eagle last week. She recalled the spike in adrenaline that had coursed through her blood when the massive shadow fell across them, how she'd sprung into action, heart racing, determined not to lose anyone else she cared about. Fear sharpened her focus and enabled her to think and act quickly in an emergency. Between the adrenaline and how intent she'd been on getting Shadepelt and Pipitpaw to safety, she hadn't noticed she was injured until a day later, when she woke up with a pulled muscle.
Finishing her bluejay, Ravenswoop stood, grimacing. Perhaps a little exercise would help. She'd stayed off of her injured leg for a couple of days, as Hazelpool had instructed, but she was tired of moping around. Getting her blood flowing ought to ease her stiffness. She stretched and trotted over to poke her head into the apprentices' den. "Webpaw," she called into the gloom. "Training." She withdrew from the den entrance and headed over to join Goldensong to wait for their apprentices.

Ebonypaw -- in camp -- with Briarnose (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 )
"Nothing," he said, with the dramatic air of an orphaned kitten weeping in the rain. "For there is nothing to look at." He rolled onto his back, pawing at his mouth to lick and clean his ears. "Briarnose, what are we placed on this patch of earth for? To work our butts off to get food, eat food, then work our butts off all over again? It's all the same! I'm stuck in a circle, Briarnose! And circles are my least favorite shape!"
Ebonypaw gazed up at Briarnose in despair. "I was working on drying some chervil the other day and I was staring at it, watching it dry, when I wondered - oh gosh, what's the point? I'm just going to go out and dry some more chervil in the next few days! Am I going to do this for the rest of my life?" He gestured with his tail. "I watched two beetles fighting each other and was enthralled. I think I'm going to start a beetle ring fight. Would starting a beetle ring fight be better than drying chervil for the rest of my life?"

Goldensong with Ravenswoop mentions Coldpaw & Webpaw in camp @ Tealraven , Sand , & Tiri Goldensong was already by the entrance tunnel, waiting on her apprentice, Coldpaw, who she had already called for. She stifled a yawn when she spotted Ravenswoop coming her way, happy to see that the black furred molly was doing better after the eagle encounter. She was also glad that things were starting to calm down again. Not that Goldensong thought Cardinalstar was wrong for his decision on tightening up on patrols, but she missed getting to venture out on her own the last few days.
She dipped her head in greeting when Ravenswoop was close enough, offering a warm smile as she uncurled her tail from around her paws and rose from her seated position. "Hello, Ravenswoop! How's your leg?" Goldensong asked, then turned her attention to the camp clearing, keeping an eye out for Coldpaw and Webpaw. "Did you want to discuss what to teach before we head out?"

Coldpaw turned on his butt in his nest, trying to avoid sitting on a stick he should really take out of there. But there were better things in life to do, he'd have to do it tomorrow. Today, after an eon on having to only go out with other cats, he'd finally be able to go off on his own, probably maybe assuming Goldensong didn't have anything for them to do. And he had plans. In one of the bigger pools in the Tumbling Falls, he'd seen a sort of water-bug thing made of approximately a million legs.
Hazelpool had been a bit dubious about his questions, in the week long period of not being able to explore, but she didn't know of any bugs that had medicinal qualities. That didn't mean there weren't any, she'd said, so it was still a possibility, but he'd mostly given up and put those ideas on the backburner. Until he'd spotted the many legged thing, which probably wasn't going to ever cure greencough, but was kinda interesting just by itself. It was so big, compared to all the other bugs he'd seen, and underwater? They couldn't all do that. So, new question, catching one and seeing what it was. Maybe it was a fish instead?
Ah, cottonfluff! He could hear Goldenspot out in the camp caver proper. No breakfast, not groomed, ugh, he needed to stop daydreaming. Or schedule it to after meals. Quickly, Coldpaw scrabbled out of his nest and though the little gap between apprentice den and the camp proper, bouncing down to skid to a stop at the feet of the warriors. "Sorry I'm late!"

"Nothing to look at? But, I thought-" Briarnose cut herself off when Ebonypaw continued on his tangent. It was also soon after that she realized he meant there was nothing exciting to look at, and not that they were literally looking at nothing. She adjusted her position and hovered her face at a comfortable distance above Ebonypaw's, watching as he groomed his ears. "Wait, you have a favorite shape?" The young molly thought for a moment, her tail sweeping back and forth. "I think mine would be tree shape."
Then he's going off again, something about beetles and fighting. Her face contorts, whiskers twitching at the thought of those creepy looking bugs. Briarnose hated beetles. "Please don't. I don't think I could talk to you anymore if you started collecting bugs." A shudder runs down her spine and the fluffy warrior rose briefly to shake out her pelt, then settled back on her haunches. "I mean, if you're really so bored we could head out somewhere. Maybe the champion's cave? Or tumbling falls?"

Ebonypaw shrugged, dreams of beetle battle dashed, and rolled over onto his paws. "The tumbling falls wouldn't be too bad," he said with a tilt of his head. "Maybe we'll discover a weird plant there. Or more bugs." He hopped to his feet. "Maybe I just need to branch out in my hobbies. Do you think you could teach me some battle moves?"

Webpaw accompanied by Ravenswoop, Goldensong, and Coldpaw Webpaw had woken up fairly late to the sound of Ravenswoop’s meows. They were usually an early riser, so the young cat was quite confused by their own sleep schedule. Blinking their green eyes open, Webpaw noticed Coldpaw in the gloomy den. They wondered if he would be joining him and Ravenswoop for a training session. They didn’t mind Coldpaw, so they almost asked before hearing Goldensong’s meows outside the den. It was followed by Coldpaw’s apology as he shot out of the den like a rabbit running away. Well, I wasn’t wrong, the silver spotted tabby thought before leaping to their paws. They hurried right after Coldpaw and soon found themselves behind the tom outside of the apprentice’s den. Their green eyes flashed concern momentarily for Ravenswoop. Hadn’t she just injured her leg? Why did Hazelpool allow her to go back to her duties so soon? ”Morning! Sorry for being late too,” Webpaw mewed apologetically. ”I overheard Goldensong asking about what we’re doing. So, what are we doing today?”

RAVENSWOOP crowclan camp / with goldensong, webpaw & coldpaw Ravenswoop returned the molly's chipper greeting with a slightly less enthusiastic dip of her head. "Good morning to you, too, Goldensong." She gave her front left leg a little shake to dispel the ache. "Much better, thanks. Hazelpool is a brilliant medicine cat; I don't know where I'd be without them." She turned her attention toward apprentices' den, one ear angled in Goldensong's direction so she could listen and watch at the same time.
The tall warrior's mind flashed back to the eagle again. "Perhaps we should do a session on evasive maneuvers? How to quickly and safely get out of a death grip -- feline or otherwise?" She thought of the rising tensions between the other two Clans and suppressed a growl. CrowClan couldn't keep hiding in their mountain home forever. Their territory made them feel more isolated than they really were; it was only a matter of time before the danger brewing on either side of them spilled over the border. "Or we could do a review of battle-defense moves. Of those two, which would you--"
She cut herself off as the apprentices emerged from their den and scampered across the cavern to join them. She exchanged an amused glance with Goldensong. "You're late." Her meow was stern but gentle. "When you are a warrior you cannot expect to rely on another to wake you up. We all must be accountable for our own actions; that includes being reliable and punctual." She inclined her head to bump noses with Webpaw in greeting. At their question, her gaze flicked over to Goldensong for confirmation. "Combat training today, I think."

Ebonypaw -- in camp, on route to tumbling falls -- with Briarnose (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 )
Ebonypaw practically bounced in place at the sudden fresh excitement at leaving camp. "For sure! I'm sure Hazelpool can survive without me for a little while!" He bounded towards the exit, already thinking up ways they could utilize the small waterfalls for pseudo battle.
"Bet I can find the quickest way there!" he chirped, for extra challenge. He made a motion as if sealing his maw with his tail tip to mimic silence, and darted out of camp. Spruce trees towered with swaying branches, as is beckoning the two deeper into the mountainside. Ebonypaw took in the fresh scent of pine and already felt the cobwebs in his mind clearing as energy surged back into his muscles. With quick, soft steps, he hopped off of rocks and fallen tree logs off the typical trail, seeking a shortcut he'd found on his herb-hunting travels. Ebonypaw shot a look over his shoulder to see if he could catch sight of Briarnose.

Sunclaw with Lynxspots, open Crowclan camp, headed to Owlclan border @ Tealraven
Sunclaw shoved his way through the thorns protecting the start of the camp cavern entrance tunnel, tail still waving so hard it thwacked against the sides of the tunnel with a dull thud. He stopped, took a breath, and forced his ears up from where they were pinned to his skull, wiping his anger off his coat before he stepped into the cavern and under the eyes of his clanmates.
He'd been hunting since before dawn. Hours, spent carefully padding out of camp without alarming anyone, spent stalking through dew wet grass and shivering with damp fur, spent leaping and tearing and missing, missing, missing every stars damn ball of feathers or fur he aimed himself at. Nothing to show for it, absolutely nothing, and he forced his ears back up again, before anyone could see and ask him about it. No. He was worth more than this. He'd find something else.
Sunclaw strolled though camp, his paws carefully light, his tail carefully waving, and headed directly for the leader's den, sticking his head without caution. Cardinalstar was mateless, it wasn't like he'd end up walking in on something he'd rather not see. "Yo, Cardinalstar. I have noon patrol?"
"Sunclaw?" The tome got up from where he was sitting, narrowing his eyes. "Which border?"
"Owlclan?" He decided on the spot. "Or Swan, if you prefer."
"Hmm." Goddamn that stare was kind of creepy. Sunclaw held his body language in place and refused to react. "It's a little early... but there's no harm, I suppose. Not alone."
"Of course not." Ugh.
"Then alright. I'll inform Ferncurl you've requested the patrol."
"Thank you." He dipped his head in respect. It still felt so ****ing weird to do that to Cardinalstep, the warrior who he'd shared an apprentice den with. Juniperstar had been odd in her own way, but at least he'd been used to her.
Sunclaw backed his way out and glanced around, looking for a likely candidate to drag with him. Goldenspots and Ravenswoop seemed to have their apprentices attached, which immediately ruled them out, he didn't want to have to slow down for anyone. He ducked into the warrior's den and spotted Lynxspots. "There you are! We're on noon patrol with the owlclan border. Come on."

LYNXSPOTS crowclan camp / with sunclaw Lynxspots jumped at the loud voice that interrupted his grooming. He looked up with wide golden eyes, tongue still poking out of his mouth. It was Sunclaw. "Oh, no." Alarm shot through Lynxspots and he leaped to his paws, not wanting to annoy the fierce victor by making him wait any longer than he had to. "I mean, oh, yes, right, noon patrol. Of course," he quickly corrected himself and rushed out of the warriors' den.
The brown bengal followed Sunclaw across the cavern floor to the entrance tunnel. "Is it just us or is someone else coming, too?" He asked. Please let there be someone else. He glanced hopefully over his shoulder at the camp they were leaving behind.

Ivyshine accompanied by Sunclaw & Lynxspots | CrowClan camp Ivyshine wasn't too far from the camp entrance in the cavern when she heard Sunclaw's meow. She had seen the tom pad into camp with nothing in his jaws, so she assumed he went out for a walk. Maybe that wasn't the case, but the fluffy she-cat was trying to find something to do herself. Suddenly, Lynxspot's meow carried across the cavern walls along with Sunclaw's. Ivyshine spotted an opportunity to get her out of the caves for a bit, even if it meant dealing with younger warriors. After all, she was growing bored out of her skull.
The fluffy seal point spotted the two toms near the camp entrance when she barreled after them. "Sunclaw, Lynxspots!" she meowed loudly. "I'll join you both, if that's okay?"
She quickly fell into line with Lynxspots, who didn't look one bit happy to be a part of the patrol. Part of her wondered why, but brushed the thought away. "So, where are we headed today?" she asked as she hadn't overheard the details discussed between the two.[ image credit - chris froome on flickr | tags: Tealraven & Tiri ]

FerncurlCamp - To: Open (looking for Myrtlepaw and/or Ebonypaw)
Ferncurl emerged from the medicine den, a sprig of goldenrod in her mouth. It was one of the last Hazelpool had after healing the injuries from Shadepelt, Pipitpaw, and Ravenswoop's encounter with an eagle. Of course, Hazelpool had managed to let it get this low before telling Ferncloud. She needed to gather their apprentices and teach all three a lesson- Hazelpool to be a better mentor and direct their apprentices, and the apprentices to keep up with their duties. For now she simply flicked her tail in annoyance as she left. She searched the camp but could not find hide nor hair of either apprentice, beginning to also search for a free warrior or two to help them- or take over if she could find neither. LarchemberCamp - To: Lynxspots, Sunclaw, Ivyshine
Larchember crept out of the warrior's den, hoping neither Cardinalstar nor Ferncloud caught sight of him sleeping in. What if they tear my pelt off and use it to catch that eagle as punishment? Everyone was already busy with work. Suddenly, Ivyshine bolted past him, going straight for Lynxspots and Sunclaw. Almost instinctively he fell in step behind her. "Uh, hey what's going on? I'll join ya!" He chirped as he caught up. PipitpawMedicine Den, camp - To: Open
Pipitpaw lay in the medicine den, cleaning the spot on his arm where cobweb had just been removed by Hazelpool. Most of his scratches had healed, but he was still a bit shaken about leaving camp. It had been a bit since he trained, and he wondered if Aspenspirit would drag him out soon. I'm not sure I can do it just yet. I'm not brave like Sunfeather or Turtlesnap was. If I stay in camp, though, Stoatpaw and the others will get ahead of me... The young tom's ears flattened, unsure what to do.

LYNXSPOTS leaving crowclan camp / with sunclaw, ivyshine & larchember Relief washed over Lynxspots as two other cats materialized out of the ether to join their patrol. Now it wouldn't be all on him to keep up a conversation with Sunclaw. The two toms were as different as night and day; he had no idea what to talk to him about. Thankfully, the Vow of Silence outside of camp would limit his chances of making a fool of himself. He hoped.
"Hey, Ivyshine. Hey, Larchember." He dipped his head to the approaching molly and offered Larchember a small smile, pleased to see his friend. He leaned over to touch his nose to the tortoiseshell's shoulder to say hello. He glanced nervously at Sunclaw. "Um. Sunclaw said we're going to the OwlClan border. You should probably ask him if you have more questions." He wasn't sure that the golden tabby would appreciate him answering on his behalf.

Sunclaw, truly believing the sun shines out of his butt:
He hid his smile watching Lynxspots jump at his meow, and the other tom deferring to him brought a spark of pride. Ivyshine and Larchember too then, that was fine. There was undoubtedly a certain comfort in looking at them and knowing. to his bones, that he was stronger. If he had to have company, at least he could hold himself above them. Literally in most cases, no wonder every cat with him was one he personally knew he could defeat in combat, he was almost a head taller than Ivyshine.
"Right. As Lynxspots said, we're off to visit the hooting border rather than the honking one, if you catch my drift." If they didn't he'd lose all hope in cat-kind. "Those rat faced, fox hearted bastards need watching. Anything happens, I'll claw their faces off. With their argument with Swanclan about moss-place, or whatever it is, it's important to be very clear that our own borders aren't up for debate." That about covered it, and with Ferncurl wandering through camp out of the corner of his eye, he wasn't exactly going to suggest they find a Owlclan idiot to mess up a little to emphasize the point.
"Right. Don't fall behind for any reason, and if you get lost I'll make sure the entire warrior den knows about it. I'll be out in front doing the border marking, the rest of you don't break stealth unless it's necessary, and we'll be able to get the drop on anything that tries to screw with us. We're going in quick, easy, and lethal," Sunclaw grinned. "Very Crowclan."
That covered everything, and made him almost itch for the fight his strategy planned for. Pelt rippling with the feeling, he shook it out, and turned to head out of the entrance. He wasn't going to give anyone time to sit around and chat about it, his patrol was happening right here, right now, and as he brushed through the entrance tunnel his paws hit the ground, walk, then trot, then bursting though the bushes at tunnel entrance, a ground eating, steady lope. Heading directly down the trail to Echo Ravine, he ducked between conifers, swerving to bring them all around the grassy clearings rather than through them. It wasn't like anyone was getting eagle-eaten on his watch, but there was no sense tempting fate by running out in the open. Prey scattered before him, birds calling their alarm, and he bared his teeth in excitement, the wind in his mane and foes hopefully waiting for him.

"I'm happy to hear you're feeling better." She said while her clear blue eyes followed the shaking movement of Ravenswoop's paw. Goldensong offers a sympathetic smile before her own gaze lifts to focus on the apprentice's den as well. Then her head turns slightly to the dark furrred molly, thinking over the suggestions she's offered.
Goldensong hears her apprentice before she sees him, sharing in Ravenswoop's amused look before she turns to greet Coldpaw and Webpaw. "What Ravenswoop said, but it's good to see you two." There's a dull purr in her voice as offers a similar greeting to her own apprentice, though she leans a bit further to snag a piece of moss out of his fur, right by his shoulder.
She straightens up and stretches her back paws before she's standing completely upright. When she catches Ravenswoop's gaze, the bengal tabby would give a firm nod and a quick lash of her tail. "Yup! Combat training. We'll be focusing on evasive maneuvers today, so pay close attention," Goldensong waits a moment before turning tail and calling out before she slips into the entrance of the tunnel. "Now let's hurry because we're already late."
Briarnose with Ebonypaw en route to tumbling falls @ thejadestorm "Wait, Ebonypaw! We shouldn't-" he's gone before she can finish speaking, about to tell him that they shouldn't wander from the trails. They were set there for a reason. However, the younger tom is leaving her in the dust before she could argue.
Briarnose darts after the apprentice before she could lose him, slipping through the tunnel just before she could lose sight of Ebonypaw's black fur. Her fluffy pelt immediately collects dirt and debris as she kicks up the ground with her slender paws, trying to quickly catch up. When Ebonypaw looks back he'd find the warrior a couple fox-lengths back. Not too far away, she could easily gain on him.

𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 Goldensong is such a treasure! He nodded along as Ravenswoop talked, a bit embarassed, but mostly just accepting that he should've gotten out of his nice warm nest a bit earlier. When Goldensong joined in, Coldpaw raised a little purr as she talked, as well as an embarrassed duck of his head. Yeah, he was covered in nest-fluff. Maybe that wasn't the most professional he'd ever looked. "You're very right about the punctuality thing," he apologized to Ravenswoop. "...Although, there are ways we're supposed to rely on others. Like the moves we'll be learning!" His tail shoot back up again into cheerful excitement, lashing around. "Or the ways that mentors teach apprentices!"
His eyes shone, and he turned to Webpaw. "Evasive moves are so cool, they're not exactly hunting or fighting, I think? And it'll be really good to feel prepared with that eagle around. Maybe it's nesting, do eagles nest like small prey birds do?" As he spoke, still twisted around to talk to Webpaw, he pattered backwards towards the entrance tunnel, following Goldensong and fortunately not bumping into anything. "I bet an eagle egg would be huge!"
Annnnd quiet time, once again. Another reason to get up earlier, he wouldn't be able to talk again until it was safe, spending more time awake in camp meant he'd actually be able to hold conversations.
