Softpaw -- swanclan territory -- with Willowpaw (Tealraven )
Softpaw silently reminded themself never to show Willowpaw the little beetle friend that they'd been keeping in their nest.
Willowpaw's cheer brightened away the clouds of dread, and though cautious, Softpaw was no longer double-checking their own shadow every five seconds. They were so busy watching the golden strands of wheat sway in the distance they nearly missed Willowpaw's query.
"Oh! Um..." Softpaw sniffed the air, looking around them, but the land was simply hills - if only they could remember which tree led to which...? "I think... to the left?" they offered humbly, not wanting to admit they were terrible at directions. They were pretty sure if they ever got lost outside of camp they'd wander around in circles until another cat (or hawk) found them.
"We'd hear the stream if we're getting close," they added hopefully, leading the way, sneezing as a golden stalk tickled their nose. As they trekked, the flora beneath Softpaw's paws made them curious. "What's your favorite flower, Willowpaw?"
(with all this foreshadowing maybe they do bump into something dangerous...?)

flickerflame - with *ivytangle* ->mentions of sleekstreak at swanclan camp Yacinthe
Tearing out a piece, Flickerflame began to munch on the rabbit. Ivytangle had accepted her offer to eat together. “I’ve been great, have you heard of the recent border skirmish with OwlClan?” It had been a while since they had bothered talking to each other. She didn’t talk to many cats inside her Clan. Only Sootfall really, but the tortoiseshell would often get fed up with him. She was obviously better than him.
“Sleetstreak? Never heard of them. Did you mean…Sleekstreak? ‘Cause if so, I don’t know her well. You know how caught up she is with Aloestar.” Flickerflame had never heard of a cat called Sleetstreak before. The only cats she could possibly think the gray tom was referring to was Sleekstreak, duh, the mate of Aloestar…or perhaps even Sleetpuddle, her former “friend” from OwlClan. But, how could anyone know about that really? Did it slip out once? Twice? It didn’t matter though. Right?

- - - ( wholesomeness overload from littlefin and softpaw <3 @ thejadestorm maybe they do! we could also have them think they run into a predator and get spooked when it was really just a bird or something; that could be pretty funny, two apprentices freaking each other out. what are your ideas? ) - - - SOOTFALL odd brook / with littlefin Sootfall leaned his chin on his front paws, content to observe. He quietly enjoyed her presence. Noticing her murky green eyes land on him a couple of times, he casually turned his attention away from her, hoping to ease her nerves. He tipped his head back and let the sunshine warm his face.
When he chanced another look at Littlefin, she was leaning out over the edge, focusing on the glittering water sliding past the rock. He flicked his ears forward, interested. Her concentration was so palpable he nearly felt his own muscles tense with anticipation. If there was one thing he liked more than fishing, it was fishing with friends and sharing in the thrill of a good catch.
In a flash of black and white, Littlefin's paw darted out and struck the surface of the brook. She deftly hooked a gleaming silver fish out of the water and flung it at Sootfall's head. He ducked and narrowly avoiding biffing his nose on the rock. He watched as the fish landed at his paws and the molly dispatched it in the blink of an eye. She was so quick! When she lifted her head she came face-to-face with him, eyes wide and noses nearly touching. Sootfall blinked at her. Then she leaped backward.
"Well?" He repeated. "That was fantastic angling, Littlefin! Your reflexes put me to shame." He pushed off the rock and dropped back onto all fours, beaming up at her. "We should fish together more often!"
WILLOWPAW swanclan territory / with softpaw
"Hmm, good point. Left it is, then!" Willowpaw declared, marching in the direction Softpaw had indicated. She fell in behind them with twitching ears as she listened for the sound of rushing water. She giggled at the other apprentice's sneeze, almost bumping into them, and was careful to keep her head above the tickly golden stalks.
She scanned the hills around them, appreciating the view and looking out for danger at the same time. Softpaw's question helped distract her from the nervous feeling in her tummy. "I like forget-me-nots. They're so little and pretty!" She paused to admire a daisy nodding in the breeze and watched a pollen-coated bumblebee lift off from the petals and buzz past her nose. "What about you?"
Her fur began to prickle uncomfortably as if she were being watched, and she couldn't resist throwing a glance over her shoulder. Probably just an overactive imagination, she told herself. That's what her mentor was always telling her, anyway. If the little apprentice was worried, it didn't show on her face, but she did quicken her pace, drawing even with Softpaw while they walked.

Dawncall: Overthinking everything Sleekstreak: What really matters is not leaving the house without your makeup on Holding on to the slippery, fresh pile of marigold leaves in her mouth was difficult, without resorting to biting down hard on them. Ridgesmoke had been clear in her tips before Dawncall had set out in the early morning - to chew or pierce the leaves would be to let the precious juices go to waste. It made sense. Dawncall sighed with relief as camp came into view, and tamped down on the voice in her head that spoke of how unkept she looked, with long hair and old marigold leaves tangled in her mane. She was a medicine cat now - efficiency was what mattered. Those leaves had been tangled there so she'd be able to compare them to the fresh plants while gathering.
Lilacwing was out of the nursery. Dawncall crushed her jealously ruthlessly. It was unbefitting of a warrior, or medicine cat, to hold such emotionss, and she was very used to banishing them from her mind. And the impending kitting would be the first she might have to assist at in her new position, so it was doubly important to refuse to allow such dark thoughts to ruin the birth of new life. She must be professional. And, for that matter, friendly.
Carefully, she set her leafy burden down. For now, still unfamiliar with her new herb vocabulary, she was treating them all like the most prized delicate catmint. "Good morning, Lilacwing." The other she-cat was probably sick to death of kit-talk, but Dawncall had very few other topics. "The days are getting so warm recently, it's nice to be up in the cool mornings. Apparently it works better for herb gathering. I've been surprised such things have so much in common with hunting, actually." She noticed that Lilacwing seemed uncomfortable. Normal pregnancy pains? She had no idea. "I hope the nursery hasn't been getting too warm." There, that gave Lilacwing the chance to bring up anything, but didn't imply that the other she-cat knew her body less than Dawncall did.
Sleekstreak with open Swanclan camp @ Tag
Sleekstreak paused a moment in her grooming rhythm, stretching out one of her hind legs and shaking off a cramp.
"Am I finally escaping, dear?" Aloestar glanced up at her.
She purred her amusement. "Not a chance, starlight. These burrs in your tail are awful, I can't have cats seeing you like this!" Setting herself back to work, she straightened out the slight knots in her mate's short fur, unabashedly shoving Aloestar over to get at her belly. "Besides, the prey runs well, the sun shines upon us. Starclan blesses our clan."
"So mote it be." Aloestar murmured, the effect somewhat ruined as Sleekstreak got to her ears.
"There." Perfectly clean, smoothly groomed, her mate shone like the sun in her eyes.
"Thank you." Aloestar got to her feet, pressing her muzzle briefly against her mate's. "But I must go to my duties now."
"I know, starlight."
"Don't let me hear you calling me that in front of the clan," she purred.
"Ah, Aloe, you've been my star far longer than you've been theirs," Sleekstreak purred, getting to her feet to follow her soulmate. "That will never change. Now, what can I do today?"
"Hmm." Aloestar twitched her tail. "If you go anywhere near the Owlclan border, take entire patrol. Two, even. They test us and our patience."
"They can never win." Sleekstreak assured her. "Starclan aids us, while Owlclan ignores their guidance."
"True."
"I think I'll check the fresh kill pile. If it's low, maybe I'll hunt a little and get the Crowclan border in one trip." The boring neighbors, but it meant other cats could watch Owlclan more closely. After last leaf-bare, with Crowclan delivering prey to them, it even looked possible their lost sister clan was finally developing some manners.
"Have a good trip then."
She purred, sharing one last moment with her mate, then took up her work. Sleekstreak left the leader's den and headed out into camp, headed to the fresh-kill pile, eyes out for anyone who looked like they might fancy an excursion.

(Hi! I've seen the one med app spot is till open! I'd like to join )
Sagepaw - she-cat/molly (she/her) - 8 moons old
Gray and white long haired she-cat with one blue and one yellow eye. Star touched.
(snarky, sarcastic, cunning, ambitious, intelligent, loud, rowdy, has an... attitude)
Despite being star touched, Sagepaw couldn't care less about talking to other cats in a nice way. She often makes rude remarks and mocks those who try to put her in her place, but what for?
Her strengths are swimming and, ofcourse, herb hunting. She isn't very good at hunting or fighting, and was forced to walk the medicine cat path by her mother.
Family, mentor and siblings are open!

She lets go of the branch and takes a step back. "There you go. I'm impressed that you managed to drag this branch this far. Were you taking it outside of camp?" She questioned wondering where she managed to find this branch.

softpaw -- swanclan territory -- with willowpaw (𝚛𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚢 )
"Forget-me-nots are so cute," Softpaw agreed eagerly. "The name's super neat, too. I've always wondered why they're called that?" They couldn't hear the stream yet, so they kept trucking forward. "I like violets," they said in a shyer tone. "Their color is really pretty. Especially against yellow grass."
They couldn't help but toss glances up at the sky - only a few clouds trailed across its periwinkle face, so if there was a big mean bird, surely its dark feathers would be strikingly noticeable. Still, big birds were pretty fast, weren't they? Softpaw flinched at the flutter of feathers, only to realize it was just a small finch darting between the wheat.
"I'm not sure if I hear the stream," they said uncertainly. Had the two gone the wrong way? Should they turn back? If they kept going, then surely all they'd hit was the edge of the territory, right?
"Wait - do you hear that?" It felt like a short hike by the time Softpaw's ears twitched at the sound of rushing, bubbling water. Definitely bigger than a stream. Did they end up all the way at the Old Brook?
(littlefin and sootfall are so cute
lol that sounds great! i was browsing the clan territory for ideas and was thinking maybe they'd come across the abandoned camp? maybe they see a "monster" slithering through the water and freak out, but it's just a small water snake with a massive shadow x3)

- - - ( xD a water monster. love it. let's do that, then! ) - - - WILLOWPAW swanclan territory / with softpaw
Willowpaw nodded thoughtfully. "Violets are nice." She fell quiet as they traipsed through the stalks of wheat. She didn't want to draw too much attention to them this far from the camp. She had been so sure the stream was nearby. She remembered learning about one at the base of the hill the camp was situated on. Perhaps they had taken a wrong turn...
She skimmed her tail along the top of the tall yellow grass, startling when a finch darted out in front of them. She consciously made her pale grey fur lie flat and hurried forward, hoping Softpaw hadn't noticed. I'm jumpier than a kit fresh out of the nursery!
After awhile, Softpaw spoke up again. Willowpaw paused and angled her ears forward. She, too, could hear rushing water somewhere nearby. "It must be that way." She nodded to the left and gestured with her tail. "Come on! The sooner we get that moss the sooner we can head back." She bounded in the direction of the stream. The sound of bubbling water grew louder as they drew closer. Soon it started to sound much bigger than a humble grassland stream.
Maybe it's one of the creeks that feeds into Odd Brook, she thought. But surely they couldn't have strayed that far from their original path.

swanpaw -- abandoned camp -- with willowpaw (Tealraven)
"Oh," Softpaw said in surprise when they finally got to the rushing stream, the width thick and waters swift. "Um. I think we made it to Old Brook."
Not just the hefty brook, they'd somehow managed to wander all the way to the small waterfall the stream fed into. Softpaw flicked a paw through the waterfall, unable to help themselves, watching as water droplets darted into the pool.
"At least there's plenty of moss?" they said, a tinge of embarrassed amusement lining their tone as they carefully stepped down onto the slippery stones. A faint mist dusted the pool's rippling waters. It was actually very pretty, in Softpaw's view, and they could feel themselves relax.
"I've got some over here!" they called as they scraped a good chunk of moss up from a large stone, yelping as their back paw slipped. They got their balance back in a moment, but it still made them grimace and squint into the water. It'd be so embarrassing to get dunked in a pool of chilly water right about now.
"Hey look, I think I see a tadpole!"

IvytangleCamp - To: Flickerflam@certifiedhoodclassic
Ivytangle's entire pelt burned hot as he realized his terrible mistake. Idiot, you don't even know the names of your own clanmates! They might as well send you back to the apprentice's den. He gave his chest fur an awkward lick, trying to calm himself. "Ah, yeah, silly me. I must have misheard something. I... heard a bit about the border. Do you know what happened?" LavenderpawCamp - To: SilverdawnHawkeyes258
Lavenderpaw watched with a bit of awe as the warrior managed to so easily undo her mistake. When she was spoken to again afterwards she nearly jumped. "Oh, it was from the back of the den. I guess someone broke it while moving around - probably me. I, um, I didn't really think that far ahead." She admitted, looking around camp wondering if there was a use for it. It's pretty far to drag it all the way out. "Um, I'm really sorry. Could you help me with it a bit more? It's really heavy..."

WILLOWPAW abandoned camp / with softpaw
Willowpaw followed Softpaw upstream to the place where the water widened and crashed down onto the rocks a short distance below. The spray from the small waterfall misted her fur and formed delicate droplets on her whiskers. She gave herself a shake. She didn't enjoy being wet unless she was swimming; anything less than rain was just annoying. "Oh, hey, I think you're right!" She grinned at Softpaw and flicked water at them with her tail. "I guess we made it!"
She hopped down from slippery rock to slippery rock, almost losing her balance a few times. She dropped the bundle of old bedding into the muddy shallows at the bottom of the waterfall. "I'll check this side!" She called to Softpaw. Willowpaw wandered along the bank of the pool opposite to the other apprentice, pausing to scrape moss off of the dry sides of the boulders by the pool. It was fresh and springy, perfect for making nests out of.
At Softpaw's shout, the little grey molly's head shot up. "A tadpole? Really? Where?!" She peered closely at the water. A shadow beneath the water flickered out of the corner of her eye and she whipped around, but there was nothing there except for residual ripples on the surface of the pond. She glanced at Softpaw, eyes wide. "Uh... was that it?"

"Um, I think so?" Softpaw mewed, looking again. "It was small and black..."
A skillful water strider darted across the water's surface. A dark plant Softpaw did not know the name of drifted gently beneath the surface. Then Softpaw saw it - a small cluster of tadpoles, zipping around an underwater rock. "Ooh, over there -"
The tadpoles scattered, and Softpaw saw... something very not small. And long. It brushed against the rocks before vanishing, and Softpaw nearly tripped right into the water trying to wheel back. "What was that!" they yelped in alarm, already jumping to a rock further away. "That! Big!"
Despite themselves they found themselves scouring the waters again, and then saw movement once more, a dark shadow slithering on the other side. "Do you see that," they whispered.

Flickerflame at SwanClan camp with Ivytangle Yacinthe
The gray tom looked quite embarrassed to say the least after Flickerflame had clarified his question. Maybe he doesn’t know our Clanmates well. Can’t really blame him for that… Finishing her piece of rabbit, she quietly listened as he asked another.
“Yeah, I was there. Oh, if only you were there to experience it yourself. They got so riled up…over nothing! It was a blessing that Cloudberry was there, he saved us all from such a petty war.” Flickerflame dramatically mewed. Maybe she was exaggerating things just a little but it was still true, wasn’t it? It was stupid that those pesky OwlClan cats desperately wanted Mossy Stones back. They made complete fools of themselves. It was SwanClan’s territory now and nothing could ever possibly change that.

WILLOWPAW abandoned camp / with softpaw
Willowpaw darted her gaze around the surface of the water. She spotted ripples near the base of an algae-covered rock, but it was only a salamander slithering into the shadows from the sandy bank. A dragonfly skimmed across the pond nearby. She was so deep in concentration she almost fell face-first into the water at Softpaw's shout.
"What? Where-- oh!" She leaned over the water to spot the tadpoles, but as they were on the opposite side of the pond, it was hard to see from her vantage point. She skirted the pond to get a better look and bumped into Softpaw right as the other apprentice stumbled backward. Unbalanced, Willowpaw's legs buckled beneath her and she sank onto the pebbles, the bundle of moss flying out of her mouth. "Softpaw! What was that all about!"
Grunting, she squeezed out from under her companion and scanned the water again. "See what?" The moss bundle had landed by the edge of the bank and lay just barely submerged in the shallows. She padded over and stooped to pick it up. "There's nothing--" as she bent to grab the moss, the water in front of her suddenly stirred, and something big and dark darted by her nose. Willowpaw reared back with a squeal. "NEVERMIND! That was definitely SOMETHING!" She scrabbled away from the water's edge, fur bristling along her shoulders and spine. She stared at Softpaw. "That thing had to be twice as long as you or me!"

Silverdawn: Camp with Lavenderpaw YacintheSilverdawn flicks her tail back and forth. "No need to constantly apologize. There is no shame in just asking for help." She remarked as she takes hold of the branch once more. She didn't know Lavenderpaw very well but she knew that the young molly was a anxious one. Little bit of confidence and she would be unstoppable. She thought as she pulls back the branch some more. Granted, she had a tendency to do things on her own.

Carrying a might pike in her jaws, Brindlebrook entered the camp. Her eyes glittered at her fine catch, holding her head high. Gently, the diluted cat placed her pike on the fresh-kill pile. She flicked her head around, trying to see if any available cats wished to go on another patrol. After all, it was a nice little day. The weather shouldn't go to waste here.
"Hmm, maybe I should wait a moment..." the she-cat thought to herself. Plopping down, the warrior started washing her ears. The sun felt lovely on her brindled pelt and the air seemed fresh today. The molly loved it. A swim would be spectacular, but it wasn't as fun alone. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf

IvytangleCamp - To: Flickerflame@certifiedhoodclassic
Ivytangle watched the shecat's theatrics with a bit of a purr, trying to put his own embarrassment out of mind. He should try to get himself on more patrols, maybe he would get a chance to proove himself like Flickerflame did. "Owlclan is no match for our warriors, like you." He praised. "They lack Starclan's favour, hardly better than rogues." LavenderpawCamp - To: silverdawnHawkeyes258 "Right, I'm sor-" She stopped herself, ears hot. "... Yeah..." She looked down at the branch once again. "Maybe... There's somewhere in the camp walls that we could patch with it?" Though the walls were made of evergreens, on occasion there were spots which looked much more secure than the frilly needles covering gaps would imply. But then, that made them harder to spot without doing a thorough check. She picked up the other end from Silverdawn, ready to carry it wherever if the warrior told her to. Her mentor was nowhere to be seen so she was at least in no rush.

Sleekstreak heard Ivytangle on the way down to the freshkill, and purred with it. There could never be enough cheerleadering on that front! "Exactly!" She meowed on her way past, not trying to join the conversation but still feeling the need to support the clan. "Our faith is stronger, our clan lifted up from that scruffy band of cats."
Oh, Bindlebrook had a pike! "Excellent fishing Bindlebrook!" Sleekstreak exclaimed. "Pikes are tricky beasts, but so hefty, the clan will eat well today! Why, I thought I might hunt on the way to the Crowclan border, but with this on the fresh kill pile it's hardly necessary. It didn't give you any trouble, did it? Queens used to talk of pikes taking kits who wandered out of camp, back in my day. Ah, but I shouldn't stop to sample it, I should head off for a little border jaunt. But, truly, wonderful work."

Flickerflame at SwanClan camp with Ivytangle Yacinthe
Flickerflame was impressed by Ivytangle’s sudden burst of confidence. “Why thank you,” she purred. “SwanClan is blessed to have such great warriors, and the honor of StarClan. OwlClan could never compete.”
The tortoiseshell’s fur began to rise at the thought of StarClan, but before it could even be noticed Sleekstreak came to the fresh-kill pile and quickly chimed in their conversation. Flickerflame felt grateful for the gray she-cat’s sudden appearance. Once she left to go speak to Brindlebrook, who just brought back a pike, the tortoiseshell turned to Ivytangle.
“Enough chit-chat, do you want to go on a patrol?” she asked. ”It’d be nice to have some time outside of camp, don’t you think?”

In truth, it took her all this time to stalk the poor thing and a few attempts to catch it. Sleekstreak didn't need to know that, though. It would be Brindlebrook's secret forever.
When she heard them discussing a border patrol, the pale cat's ears perked up. "Would you all mind if I joined you? I was hoping to tag along with someone." What a little dear! Ah, but she shouldn't be so dismissive of Brindlebrook, she remembered being that age, eager to impress. Not that the warrior needed to, Starclan bless her. "If you've got the energy after such a huge catch! The more the merrier, by all means." She purred, and turned to Flickerflame and Ivytangle. "Would you two care to pad with us? A nice solid patrol of four, though I doubt we'll see excitement. But please, some cat take the leadership off my paws." She felt her hair slip out of place, and quickly swiped a paw over it to put it back to perfection. "You're all fine, promising warriors, you don't need some gray whiskered thing like me telling us all what to do." Though, her whiskers were fine, she'd had Aloestar check them yesterday. She hoped one of these warriors would reassure her about them.

"It's like - it's like -" Softpaw stumbled over their words as they tried to slowly back up, claws sinking into the slippery moss. Then, quietly to Willowpaw, "I've - I've heard stories in the nursery about giant monsters that lurk in water." The small apprentice's heart was racing in their chest, tail floofed out to max capacity. "Long, scaly beasts that can swallow you up in one gulp."
They swallowed. "I always thought they'd be in an - an ocean though -"
A shadow curled right under them, and Softpaw shrieked. Their paw slipped, and they crashed right into the pool.
They flailed wildly, bubbles curling out of their grasp. Softpaw's been taught to swim, but their panic made them splash wildly as they popped back up to the surface. "AHHH I SEE IT! HELP! HELP!"

Flickerflame at SwanClan camp with Ivytangle, Sleekstreak, & Brindlebrook Yacinthe || Tiri || ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁
Before Ivytangle could respond, Sleekstreak turned to him and Flickerflame, asking to join as well. Even Brindlebrook popped in to ask as well. “Of course you two could join. Four cats on a patrol, we can get a lot done. But first, what do you all prefer? We could patrol one of the borders, or go out to hunt.”
The tortoiseshell easily preferred a border patrol. They were just speaking of OwlClan, why not go start something with those feather-brains? There was already a lot in the fresh-kill pile, meaning there was no need to catch anything else when the Clan was well-fed. Flickerflame wanted to hear everyone’s input though, she was going to lead this patrol after all. Sleekstreak made it clear that she felt that the more promising warriors should lead instead.

ʀᴀɪɴʟᴇᴀғ 🍁 Sorry, I seem to have missed you last night! Or last time I posted, I'm not sure what the time was for you

Ah, watching Flickerflame puff up with importance made her purr. She hadn't been trying to single anyone out, but in Sleekstreak's experience, letting those who wanted leadership pursue it worked out well. Either Flickerflame would taste it and find it bitter, spit it out, or the hard task of decision making would agree with her, and the experience would do her good regardless. Still, it was important not to make her other clan mates feel left out, and Sleekstreak made sure to blink approvingly hearing Flickerflame ask for their preference.
"I was thinking of the Crowclan border, myself. It should be quiet, but it's important to still check these things - and although the fresh kill pile is excellently stocked with Brindlebrook's lovely pike, we could fit in a hunt on the way there or back if we felt like it. But I'm happy to do anything, it's a glorious newleaf. So nice to have the prey running again after the hard leafbare." It was, after all, the reason they'd claimed Mossy Stones. While the gesture from Crowclan had been generous and appropriate, sharing prey during leafbare, a clan had to stand on it's own paws. That was what Aloestar had said, anyway, and Sleekstreak trusted her mate without question.
