The cop's fingers... well, they reached over to his belt where the handcuffs were hanging, but then another thought crossed his mind. Maybe, maybe... he didn't really know. What that strange redhead with the strange clothing and dirtied figure and the peculiar weapon had eluded to was weird. Maybe these people really did need to go. His thoughts were all over the place, but somehow making sense to him. He bit his lip, lowering his pistol and flipping the safety back on with a flick of his thumb.
"Uh..." He said, feeling the eyes of the rest of the citizens bore into his skin, as if he was going to do something drastic. They did not trust those guys either, it was clear because of their frozen stances and widened eyes, the little kids that they had with them shaking with nervousness, and maybe even fear as well. "Go." He said, earning a couple gasps from the citizens around him. "Just go." The cop would know he would be surprised that he was letting this old man go, but what had just happened was sending his gut a feeling that he just needed to let these guys go and forget this ever happened.

Well, The Doctor had expected a scuffle, but this was a welcome surprise. "Thanks," he said simply, ducking his head in respect and taking a small step back, glancing around before legging it into the TARDIS and slamming the door, locking it behind him with a deep breath. After he took that breath, he turned, scanned over the young men in the console room, and practically screamed, "What the actual hell were all of you thinking? Do you know how dangerous that was?"

Party Poison, although he did hear the Doctor scream at him, he wasn't too worried about the old man. He was mildly terrified of the people in front of him, all except for Kobra Kid showing clear signs of annoyance and some types of anger. He wasn't too used to seeing his team like this in this way, they were all usually... really... any other emotion besides this. Especially not at Poison. Nothing really got to them that much, and he doubted it wasn't quite the same for the YoungBloods as well. Which was why he was almost shaking in his boots as he shuffled backwards, staring at them with widened, frightened eyes as they in turn stepped forward.
"Poison." Kobra said, his fast steps of his walk quickly making him appear before his obviously fearful brother. And even though Poison was the elder by a good three-four years, Kobra still seemed to loom over him, although it was only a couple inches height difference. Poison felt his chin be jerked upward by Kobra's pointer and middle fingers appearing under it, making Poison's eyes lock into a painful stare with Kobra's now cold hazel eyes. He was showing rather subtle signs of anger now, a twitching lip and narrowed eyes pointed to that emotion now. And for moment, Poison thought that Kobra would just do nothing except give him the silent treatment, maybe avoid him for a while, and maybe his other teammates as well. Fun Ghoul would learn of this happening and do the same.
But that thought was blown out of the water as he felt Kobra's other hand come into fast, sharp contact with his cheek with a sickening-
SLAP.
And that's when Kobra showed more of his anger.
"You IDIOT!!" He screamed, even sending the previously angry Zonerunners behind him stepping back in surprise. Poison was just petrified as he stumbled backwards with the force of the slap, hand flying to his now red stinging cheek as he stared at his yelling brother with horror. Now, Kobra never, ever raised his voice other than the shout to a fellow rebel or Killjoy in a skirmish. He never screamed at the top of his lungs, especially at his own kin. So it was quite the sight to see Kobra in this state, with eyes blazing with rage and hands curled up into tight fists at his sides, staring at his brother with bared teeth. His breathing was hard, it was quite obvious in that fact, and he almost looked like a bull ready to charge. If this room was cold enough, you would see the clouds of warm carbon dioxide exiting his nose, quite like a bull from those old cartoons. "WHAT THE F//K WHERE YOU DOING?" He shouted again as loud as he could go. Which was pretty damn loud.
"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!" Poison yelled back, his voice carrying that... edge you would find in a post-hardcore/hardcore song. Screamo maybe. But this seemed to make Kobra even more pissed off, and now he really looked like a bull. And with those long legs of his, he would be barreling into Poison before he knew what the hell was happening. This was not good. This whole situation was not good, not that anybody thought it was in the first place.
it was then that Poison felt something slamming into him, Poison saw a flash of red and golden as his brother crashed into him, sending both of them toppling to the ground with shared grunts of surprise and pain. Poison was now very scared as Kobra, who was on top of him, raised his fist high as he let out a low growl. He braced himself for impact, hoping it wouldn't hurt too much.

"Mother of..." The Doctor began, voice dropped into an annoyed growl as he moved around the console, scaling the stairs in a couple of long bounds, and wrapping a skinny arm around Kobra's torso, trying to jerk him off of his older brother. He was stronger than he looked, being not human, but he wasn't sure how well he was gonna do with lifting this guy up and off of someone. Even if The Doctor was a good three inches taller than him. "You're not children," he snapped, continuing to try to pry Kobra up and off of the smaller man beneath him.

Kobra Kid glared at the old man as his attention diverted from his terrified brother for once. "Yeah, well no sh/t Sherlock!" He said, wrenching the Doctor's hands off of him, and then only to be replaced by someone else's. Jet Star, with grunts of him using all of the strength he could muster, slowly lifted a confused Kobra off of Party Poison and ignoring the weird look he was getting from Dr. Benzedrine, who was currently trying his best to stay out of trouble. Kobra didn't look like one to be messed with, so he left the situation to those who knew him best.
"Kobra, stop it." Jet said, holding Kobra higher. "I shouldn't have to do this. What has gotten into you?" Maybe there was a reason why he exploded like this, as this was a thing only to get mildly angry at, but Jet didn't want to think about it too much. He felt Kobra squirm slightly in his tight grip, letting out little noises of protest against his friend.
"Nothing you should be worried about, Star. Why?" He whispered, crossing his arms and looking at Jet with a raised eyebrow. Although Jet could not tell what he meant by that specifically, he could tell it wasn't good. At all, really.
"Alright." Jet said, trying to make himself sound convincing as he lowered Kobra to the ground. But didn't let go. "We'll be back." Jet said, throwing a suspicious look at Kobra as he finally let go of his friend, instead only grasping his wrist as he tugged Kobra off somewhere, probably to find out what the ever loving hell that was.
Poison stared after his brother, sitting up and running a tired hand through his red hair. "What the f//k..." He whispered, and that was all he said as he glanced in the direction the other two went off to, seeing a flash of a black coat round the corner. He shook his head, closing his eyes for a quick moment to catch himself.

The Doctor just stood there, watching them go before looking back at Poison and saying simply, "What you did, pal, was f/cking stupid as hell." His mouth was drawn into a thin line, brow set angrily as well. He could've not only screwed up their lives, but screwed up time itself. Time itself. That wasn't something that you kidded around with. Even The Doctor had his boundaries. Well, he normally had his boundaries.

"You think that didn't convince me that I'm officially the most stupid person on planet Earth? My f//king brother, who never ever has done anything like that, getting so angry he yells at me?" Party Poison growled, standing up and running his hands through his red hair as he spoke. There were things he was wanting to say, make some sassy remark about how he didn't understand but honestly, he didn't want to dig his grave just quite yet. Poison shook his head, once again pulling out the keys to the Trans-Am. He needed out once more, just to distract him from the horror and overwhelming embarrassment and guilt he was feeling because of this situation he had gotten them in.

"What're you planning on doing with those?" The Doctor grunted as he looked at the keys in Poison's hand, rolling his eyes, "I haven't even taken you home yet, son." He needed a minute to cool down before he was going to safety maneuver this thing back through the vortex, without purposely crashing on account of how pissed off he was at these utter children. He was going to rant to Clara when he got back; he knew that for sure.

Party Poison shook his head and stuffed the keys back into his pocket. "I can see that." He said, really wishing Fun Ghoul was with him now. Sure, that little bastard would be pissed as well, and would've been the one to gladly slap him silly instead of Kobra Kid, but at least it would be somebody. He wanted to be home already, so at least he wouldn't have to embarrass himself any further in front of these near strangers. Their Zonerunner ways have probably warped interpretations, or maybe it was because they shouldn't have gone at all in the first place. The latter was probably the correct answer in this case.

The Doctor stood there silently for a moment, before saying simply, "I'll take you home." He jogged back down the stairs, hanging his blazer on the railing before cracking his knuckles and starting the ship up. He yanked a lever, and called over his shoulder, "You wanna go and check on your little friend in the infirmary? Ghoul?" He didn't like standing there with the young man staring over his shoulder

Dr. Benzedrine sat down on one of the stairs, his mouth shut as he pulled his legs up to his chest and head placed on his chest as he heard Party Poison let out what seemed like the grunt version of 'sure' and run to to infirmary. He was mulling over what the heck just happened, and maybe, just maybe, thoughts that these guys weren't the infamous Zonerunners that people wove legends about were crossing his mind in that moment. But he shook his head at that thought, knowing is was most likely not true in the slightest. This was just a different side of them, at least he hoped. I mean, he hadn't seen too much of the Killjoys, but... he shook his head once more as he shoved those thoughts out of his head, preferring not to go too into it at this moment.
Poison sat beside the bed where the shorter Killjoy lay, absentmindedly tracing the layers of ink embedded into Fun Ghoul's hand as he hummed to himself. Some random song from Before, he for the life of him could never remember what the song was called but it was by some band who's name was like the Green Bay Packers but not. If that was the way to describe it. He knew it had red hand grenades, that was for sure.
"F//k..." He whispered, shaking his head at himself. He was probably indeed the most idiotic person on the planet currently, for letting that thing slip out of his holster... Poison rested his chin on the mattress, eyebrows furrowing slightly as his mind jeered at itself. That thing that had slipped out of his mouth had only just added to the whole situation, and oh it just made everything better didn't it? It was so worth getting screamed at and slapped by the one quiet kid of the group (who in fact was so silent during his schooling that the teachers thought something was wrong with him), yelled at by the Doctor who was so generous in letting them do this and go to the time when everything was still jolly and good with the world, and it so worth the guilt and embarrassment he was feeling at this moment in time, he thought sarcastically. Ugh, he knew he he screwed up badly, and of course it had to be Before, when every little thing could go wrong. He let out another sigh, laying hsi head on the mattress and continuing to listen to the beeping and whirring of machines that were really the ony indicators that these people weren't dead already.

The Doctor didn't speak as he flew, mouth closed tightly as he steered through the vortex, and landed, outside of their Diner. He turned to look at Benzedrine and said with a small raise of his eyebrow, "Your friend has to stay here, but you can go, if you want. Might not be the best time to hang around." With the Killjoys on the edge and all. The Doctor sort of hoped that the three of them would go too, but he doubted they'd leave Grace and Fun Ghoul alone with them, even if he had been kind to them since they'd met. He had to get back to his people too, make sure they were alright. He didn't like it when he was away fro them. He always worried that something might've happened to them while he was gone, and well, it was never fun to feel like that, now was it?

Dr. Benzedrine nodded, knowing he'd be protective over Card Trick even though he could trust these people enough to leave him here. But if they even so dared to hurt his little Trick, whether emotionally or physically, Benzedrine could care less. They would all be dusted before they could say 'oops'. He would make sure of it. The area where his holster usually thumped against his leg seemed to tingle with the thought, but he gave it no attention as he thought about home with lowered, almost blank eyes and an expression to match. They lived in almost like a camp situation, in a nomad-like situation as well. They moved around a lot, when the Exterminator count got too many or Dracs started to swarm in their area that's when they got the hell out and set up camp somewhere else. It was a weirder situation, but it seemed to work.
That's when Benzedrine's ears picked up on some faint shouting (or at least loud voices) for a couple of moments. Concerned, he turned towards where he could hear the noise, and found himself looking down the corridor that Jet Star had dragged Kobra Kid down to have a quick word with him. It was then that the noise had been muffled for a couple quick seconds, before a loud "S//T!" filled the hallway as it sounded like a door had been thrown open, and footsteps echoed down the corridor as Kobra Kid suddenly burst into view, blushing as red as his jacket as he was currently in the middle of wiping his mouth furiously with his hand, sending a hate-filled glare down the hall as Jet Star emerged with a hand on his bruising cheek from the corridor.
Kobra looked furious, but almost in an embarrassed way as he shoved Jet, still wiping his mouth (and parts of his cheek, Benzedrine just thought he wasn't paying too much attention to that and was missing it) as he shook with anger. It was then that Jet burst out into a fit of deep laughter, doubling over in hysterics. Benzedrine was very confused at this sudden change in showing of emotions, but almost didn't want to ask what the hell had happened. He hoped he would find out eventually.

"Hope you two didn't f/cking break anything," The Doctor mumbled as Jet and Kobra came charging in. They were bloody and beaten, looking more like children to him than ever. More specifically, children who had gotten into a play fight. He was angry, but not fighting angry. No, these boys were wild, and rightfully so. They probably hadn't had someone older than them telling them what to do in enough years for them to forget what it was like. He hadn't been all that different from them at their 'age,' or the equivalent in his years. He'd been brash, rebellious, just a tad angry at the world. He had not; however, lived in a place quite this bad. Dictatorship? Yes. Mind-control. No, no, just fear. "Get out," he said after a moment voice reverberating around the room, "I'll come and find you as soon as your friends wake up. One of you'd better get Poison too." He wants all of them out except for the ones that couldn't move. Like he'd said, he needed time to get back to his people and think. He couldn't do it with noisy young men fighting and screaming in his ship.

Jet Star had calmed down a little bit to answer the Doctor. "Kobra almost broke the door, but I assure you he didn't." He said in between laughs, either ignoring or oblivious to the death stares that he was receiving from Kobra Kid. But realizing none of them were probably going to go (Dr. Benzedrine wasn't going to go around blaming Kobra in this instance to be honest) Benzedrine stood up and nodded at the Doctor's request to go and get Party Poison and he soon set off to find the older Killjoy, leaving Jet and Kobra in the console room.
Poison was still sitting there at Fun Ghoul's bedside, tracing the lines of ink in his limp hand when Benzedrine ran in, telling him that "we're home." Poison sighed slightly as he heard that, sort of not wanting to leave Ghoul's side. It wasn't likely that this little dude was going to wake up anytime soon, he knew that and had mulled over it many times, but he still had the little voice trying to convince him that anything could happen at any time. But he shook his head and stood up in silence, giving Ghoul's hand a little squeeze before following Benzedrine out the room and into the console room, where he clearly avoided his brother and waited near the door. He was ignoring the slight ache in his heart that had been renewed as of seeing Ghoul in that state, but it was there and he couldn't ignore it forever. He just hoped that it would go away sometime soon.

"Good," The Doctor grumbled, and once everyone was in the room, he snapped his fingers, front doors opening, "you're at your Diner, boys. I'll be back when one or all of them wake up, which I'm hoping will be sooner than later, you know." He shrugged with one shoulder, staring at the troop with those cool grey-blue eyes, hands shoved in his coat pockets.

Party Poison swiftly walked out, ignoring everyone as he fished out the jingling keys in his pocket and hopped into the Trans-Am. He needed this, another time to just ride out on the Zones and clear his head. He knew it usually worked to also clear him of anger as well, and he hoped Kobra Kid would be less pissed by the time he got back. With a mumbled, "be back in thirty" he was kind of sure nobody had really heard, he was jamming the keys into the ignition and spraying the others with dust not before long as he rode off to God knows where.
Show Pony emerged from the Diner at the sound, noticing their anger and tension in between the group. "What's wrong?" He inquired, but Kobra just shook his head in a way to say 'I don't want to talk about it right now', before silently heading inside. Jet Star shrugged, hand still on his cheek as he followed the other Killjoy in. Kind of confused, Pony gripped the edge of the TARDIS and peered inside through his helmet. "What happened?" He asked, lifting up his visor so his voice would not be muffled.

Show Pony bit his lip, shaking his head before leaving the TARDIS be. It was clear that whatever had happened, it had definitely set Kobra Kid off, as Pony couldn't remember the last time he saw the Killjoy this mad. In fact, Pony was sure that he hadn't seen Kobra mad ever. Pissed off, sure, annoyed, definitely. But angry? Not much of that has been shown really ever. And that was why Pony didn't bother to ask about what had happened, he was sure any of them weren't going to spill the beans. Soon, that was.
He took off his rollerskates as he entered the Diner, moving towards the back to have a chat with Dr. Death Defying about what was going on, just to see if he knew anything more than Pony did. Pony doubted it, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

[[ it is quite fine. i'll just have the doc go into the infirmary and you can choose i guess? ]]
In The Doctor's time, it had been a week. No one had woken up, no one had moved. He had more than basic medical knowledge (feeding tubes, disinfecting things, checking wounds, giving fluids, and most disgustingly, changing bedpans) so they were all fine. Unfortunately for him, the work make him incredibly uncomfortable, but it had to be done. Martha got pissy when he dropped in on her all the time, since she knew that he knew how to do it, and she wouldn't do it for him. Plus, she had a family and all that, but that was besides the point. So, he was making his hourly rounds, checking vitals, wounds, and, ugh, bedpans. He was finishing up washing his hands, drying them off before running them down his face and leaning onto the counter. At least none of them were dead yet, but none of them were awake either.

("changing bedpans" im-)
Honestly, Grace would rather be dead then be stuck in this state right now.
She knows that she could never recover from being dead, that was rather obvious, but this state she was in was just plain uncomfortable. At least when you are dead you aren't really feeling anything, as the legend goes. You're dead. Not alive anymore. This was like stuck in a restless sleep, where it really doesn't feel like you're getting any sleep at all. If that makes sense. There are probably better ways to describe this, but it's the only way Grace can right now. And being stuck in there for God knows how long really annoyed Grace.
She guessed it was like being in one of those comas that people sometimes talked about, although she really didn't know what those were what she knew was that it was like a sleep but... not? She doesn't really know. But eh, Grace tries. She had heard that Kobra Kid had been in one once, but whenever she asks either him or his brother about it they both wince and say 'not to talk about it'. She still did not know what on Earth to think of it, so she just drops it. But then it comes back and nags her until... yeah she can be annoying sometimes.
But it was then that something finally broke through the blackness and emptiness she had been stuck in for who knows long, and that something was a twitch of her ear. Even though all she had known was black, she could still tell it was her ear flicking slightly. Which was a weird sensation for Grace, as she wasn't used to her ear moving at all, really. But it was there and she could feel it. Could this mean I'm finally out? She though with excitement, testing to see if she could control this twitch and see what else could come out of it. And soon enough, she had tackled that with enthusiasm. It was kind of weird, but she was excited nonetheless.
Suddenly, her eyelids seemed to screw shut for a brief moment, Grace wondering what they were doing before they opened with a jerk, almost instantly closing back up as the light from the room she was in had blinded her momentarily. But soon her eyes were back open, darting around the place and looking at what the heck she was in. It was like what she had been told a hospital room looked like, with all these weird machines and beds and- a person! A couple people, actually. One she faintly recognized, laying across from her, and one that sent chills down her spine as she recognized him. Fun Ghoul?! Grace thought, her eyes widening ever so slightly. What happened to him?! She though, trying to crane her neck upwards to see him, but her whole upper body was not having it. It was then that she noticed another presence in the room; the nice old man called the Doctor. She stared at him as he washed his hands, kind of wanting to get his attention but at the same time not really knowing what she was doing right about now.

[[ hey, it gotta be done. ]]
The Doctor's ears pricked as he suddenly heard a change in breathing. It quickened, and for a moment his heart thumped, thinking that someone was dying, but as he removed his hands from his face he saw quite the opposite. It was Grace, staring at him from the corners of her eyes, looking desperately like she was trying to move. "Grace!" he started, moving across the room in one long bound and to her bedside, gently resting a hand on her arm and glancing at the monitor. She wasn't dying, no. Her heart rate and breathing had spiked because was waking up. "Hey there, kiddo," he grinned, peering down at her through the wrinkles on her face, but then growing a bit more serious as he warned, "stay still, don't move. You've been through a lot." He gently brushed some of her hair out of her face, like he had done to other kids once, his kids, when they were ill. The Doctor hated seeing children sick, in pain, suffering. It was one of the many, many things in the universe that made him angry, and Grace was no exception. "Can you speak?"

(*snort*)
Grace blinked up at him, narrowing her eyes as she tried to use the disused muscles in her general neck area to let out the tiniest of noises. But to no avail. She tried, wiggling her stuck jaw out of it's seemingly frozen as her fingers unconsciously held the bedsheets with a white-knuckle iron grip upon the fabric, and attempted to get out something. Anything. And to her excitement, came out a whisper of 'hello' or 'hi' or something along the greeting line. She found herself smiling, her brown eyes twinkling with enthusiasm. But in the back of her mind nagged the questions, What happened in the first place? How did I get like this? Grace didn't remember much from before this happened, other than a cloth that smelled funny being put over her mouth and then darkness. But briefly before she fell unconscious she saw the other Zonerunner kicking and trying to fight off the people who were holding that man down (Grace was surprised at how much that tiny little man could put up a fight) before he fell unconscious as well. Her eyebrows furrowed at that memory, but she quickly shoved to the side and focused on the here and now.

"Hello..." The Doctor replied with that same silly grin, running a hand comfortingly over her hair again before saying, "you're in my ship, in case you were wondering. It's all going to be okay." He didn't want to leave her just yet, alone in the room with the unconscious Fun Ghoul and Card Trick. She was in a strange place, immobile for now, and she'd be scared. "The Killjoys will be happy to see that you're awake. They've missed you," he informed after a moment, pulling a chair over with his foot and gently sitting down. He was still eye level with her, being tall, and the table being low, "you've been asleep for about a week. Do you remember what happened? Uh, wait, no, sorry, you can't talk. Blink once for yes, two for no."

Grace smiled as she remembered the Killjoys, but then frowned slightly at the thought of Fun Ghoul just on the other side of the room. What happened to him? She wasn't sure if she wanted to know. But Grace heeded his request to blink once or twice, and found herself blinking twice in response for a no. She didn't really remember a lot, and was not really sure if that was the best way to answer, but oh well, it was already done.

"Ah, good. Well, not good, um... I'm going to go and take the ship back to the Diner. Are you okay with that, being alone for a minute?" Right now, they were drifting in space. As much as he didn't want to have her be alone in a hospital room after she had just woken up, there wasn't much else he could do to get them back to her odd little family. So, he waited for her to blink again, letting him know what to do.
