🌊 Tideclan 🌊 ~ The Clan by the Sea (OPEN FOR JOINING)

"As long as you agree to play with me, if not I'll have to force you back outside." Fernkit responded, beginning to think of what they could play indoors. She wanted her last few days as a kit to be fun and memorable, sadly this heat had been keeping her from playing from dusk till dawn outside. An new idea just popped into her head and Fernkit sprang to her paws. "Have you been to the ocean yet?"

'Great. I can hit two birds with one stone, if I go to the beach then I can cool off and play until sunset. If I get caught then my apprentices ceremony will be delayed and I get to spend another moon with Dawnshore. If Lynxpaw refuses I'll just pretend I'm dying.' Fernkit thought, a grin slowly began to cover her face.
"It's just so hot out today,so how about you take Frostkit and I! It could be really fun to play in the water."
Frostkit shook his head, "That doesn't seem like a good idea, the current at sea could be dangerous. I don't want anything to delay my ceremony by getting hurt or in trouble."
Fernkit huffed, "We won't get caught, I'm not mouse-brained. Besides, Lynxpaw will be there to protect us! Now lets just go already!" Fernkit was growing impatient.

"Fine, I'll just die in this awful heat then!" Fernkit hissed before letting herself fall to the ground. Frostkit rolled his eyes, "Don't be so dramatic Fernkit, you'll live. Sorry about my sister Lynxpaw, the heat must be getting to her." Frostkit chuckled.
Fernkit scrunched up her nose. Nothing was getting to her, everyone else was just being mean.
"How about you teach me that move again, Fernkit can join us when she's ready." Frostkit meowed, looking up at Lynxpaw eagerly.

"Will do, last time really hurt." He responded before trying to lay limp in his nest, Frostkit found it hard to remain completely still, his tail twitched a little and he was breathing loudly. "Am I doing alright?" He asked Lynxpaw, lifting his head up to look at her.

"Oh sorry! Thanks for reminding me" Frostkit took a few deep breaths before trying to slow his breathing down. He hoped he was doing it correctly this time, maybe then he could learn some cooler moves. "So when are you going to be a warrior Lynxpaw?" He asked, looking up again, "You seem to know a lot!"

"They should call you Lynxbrain because you're so smart." He laughed, joking about the name part. He got back up onto his side now. "I want to earn my name from winning a battle, then after a few seasons I'll be named deputy, and if I'm lucky leader. I'd make you my deputy if I became leader, but I already promised Fernkit. She wants to be named Fernshore or something after our mom" He smiled. "So whats next?"

Murkypaw - Camp - Azaleapaw
Murkypaw shuddered at that thought. The clan really couldn't afford to run low on herbs. "Let's hope it doesn't come to that," he muttered. "It's bad enough that we might not have enough water soon." He shook his head and sighed. If they were struggling this much, how bad would it be for the prey in the forest and meadow? "Since neither you or Cloudsight have been warned I guess there's also nothing we can do to stop any of this, huh? N-not that I want this to be something we or someone else caused, of course!" he added quickly. "I just wish we could do more than just do our best to survive."

Rainsong - Forest - Garden of Herbs - Cloudsight, mention of Minnowcloud and Ripplefur
"I'm sure it will but the question is 'when'," Rainsong sighed. "It will harm the clan in more ways than one." Aside from the obvious issue of getting enough water and fresh kill for everyone or there being enough herbs he was also worried about how the heat would affect his clanmates. Some cats could grow fearful or irritated and it would be difficult for Brambleheart to keep the clan united. Upon reaching the herb garden he glanced around, knowing there was no need for him to tell Cloudsight that they had arrived. He did however briefly dip his head and meowed a short greeting as he saw Minnowcloud and Ripplefur.

(Has the Moonfall even dried up yet or are we only at the very beginning of the drought? 'Cause in dawnrose's reply it's implied that it hasn't, at least not to Azaleapaw's knowledge)

Shoalpaw - Camp - Crestfoot
With a purr Shoalpaw nodded. The sand at the beach would be super uncomfortable due to the heat but it was worth it if it meant she could spend some time in the water. And while she mostly wanted to practice swimming to cool down a little she was still learning some of the more difficult parts, mainly how to keep her eyes open underwater and how to hold her breath longer. "Sounds good!" she meowed. "And nothing against some hunting or battle training later!" She jumped to her paws and glanced around to see what the other apprentices were doing. Murkypaw had already spent some time at the beach, even if it was just for gathering seaweed, so she doubted that he wanted to go out again. And Lynxpaw was still with Dawnshore's kits. Shoalpaw felt a little disappointed at that as it would be more fun with another apprentice but part of her was relieved. At least she wouldn't have to worry about Lynxpaw watching her train. Not that she minded too much but she would hate it if she messed up something and would thus embarrass herself in front of the other apprentice.

Storm and Rain - The Beach - Badgerstalk
Storm let the paw strike his face, only moving slightly to keep it from causing too much damage. His anger only flared more when the cat wouldn't admit to what they had done "Won't harm a kit" he hissed, stepping closer to the clan cat, he didn't make any moves to attack. "Then what was that mousebrained move you made there?" He barely noticed Rain's presence back at his side "I was carrying my kit on my back, you tackled me to the ground. What would you have done if I crushed her? What would you have done if your complete foolishness caused her death? One of us is more in the wrong here, and it isn't the family who was just trying to cool off in the ocean" He paused for only a second "What will you do when your inability to think things through actually causes a kit's death? If my mate wasn't here I could have lost Ember today"
Rain bumped herself up against Storm, glancing at the cat. She let out a breath, her voice much calmer and softer than Storm's "We just wanted to cool off in the ocean, most places are dried up right now and it is a hot day today"

That works! They are still an apprentice after all, so maybe cloudsight kept it from her to avoid worrying his apprentice, and can be extra fuel for her falling to the darkside)

(Yeah, that would work! And as for why she hasn't heard about it from someone else already, Cloudsight probably only told Brambleheart and maybe some warriors who are less likely to freak out about it. And maybe Brambleheart will try to find the right time to inform the rest of the clan.)

Murkypaw - Camp - Azaleapaw
With a frown he nodded. He didn't want to think it was possible but could they really rule it out entirely? And like Azaleapaw had said, what would they even do without StarClan to guide them? "It better not get that bad," he said. "not now with Almondstar missing." And what if she didn't return? Would StarClan grant Brambleheart his nine lives? Or if the heat was really bad enough to dry up the Moonfall?

Shoalpaw - Camp - Crestfoot
"Hm. Can we train in the forest later? It's better than trying to hunt or pratice battle moves in the meadow, at least," she suggested. While she doubted the forest would be cool enough to make training much more bearable at least they wouldn't be directly exposed to the sunlight there. "And training with anyone avaible is fine!" The other apprentices were only one moon older or younger than her so she didn't really care which one she got to train with.

Rainsong - Garden of Herbs - Cloudsight
Rainsong stood back and watched as Cloudsight sniffed at some of the plants. "Tell me if there's anything you want to take back to camp," he said. He doubted that Cloudsight would find so much that he needed another cat to help him carry everything back though.

"Froststrike sounds fierce!" Lynxpaw exclaimed. "I was thinking Frostsight, but that makes you sound blind- oooh, maybe Frostspark or Froststorm!" Lynxpaw was getting ahead of herself. Was this what leaders felt when giving apprentice's their warrior names? Lynxpaw wondered.

"Thank you!" Lynxpaw purred, "it's actually fun to hang out with you," she meowed. "I can't wait until you and Fernkit are apprentices!" Lynxpaw smiled. It'd be nice to have more apprentices in the Clan, more friends to talk to. Right now there were only about four other apprentices, including Azaleapaw who slept in the medicine den, more apprentices also meant more warriors, which meant more help in the Clan.

"Of course!" Lynxpaw nodded. The silver ticked she-cat got up and beckoned the tom-kit with her tail. "C'mon," she paused. "Would Fernkit like to come too?" She asked. Lynxpaw stopped walking and took a moment to look over at the she-kit. Lynxpaw suddenly felt the heat around her once more and felt itchy.

"Make sure to tell her all about it," Lynxpaw meowed as she rushed after Frostkit into the apprentice's den. Lynxpaw took him to her nest at the back of the den. "This is my nest," Lynxpaw said. She showed Frostkit each of the other apprentice's nests.
"There's another apprentice, Azaleapaw, the medicine cat apprentice, but she sleeps in the medicine den," Lynxpaw explained
