The burning coming from the wound on her flank was making itself more noticeable. Now that the initial fire of passion had gotten out of her system, her body was taking notice of the other things. Heatherpaw winced as she took a step forward. She drew in a sharp breath, hoping that Ashpaw hadn’t noticed her momentary weakness. She didn’t want to go to Bucktail about the wound, lest she have to explain how she got it, and that would then lead to her formulating some sort of lie. She had tried getting other cats involved, but after Flamestar’s response to her and Ashpaw’s worries, this was a mission only the two of them could go on - and Elmheart now, if he agreed to aid the two apprentices, that was.
With no other words to say or questions to ask, Heatherpaw resigned to heading back to camp alongside her denmate. Hopefully there wouldn’t be too many questions asked once they returned, and StarClan willing, they’d get an extra set of paws to help them with this newfound rogue threat.

For what it was worth, Europa wasn’t worried about passing on the bad news to Alice. The ginger molly had no reason to be; she knew she would disappoint the leader, but for as intimidating and frightening as the tortoiseshell could be, she was logical. She didn’t rule out of fear, but rather out of respect, and even when displeased she had never shown signs of raising a claw to those who worked under her leadership. It was something that even Europa respected. It was one of the few reasons for why she had decided to follow this band of rogues rather than continue on with her solitary life. She hadn’t needed the comfort of living with others, but Alice had drawn her in, and now here she was, part of a group she swore her loyalty to, regardless on if she thought all members were competent or not.
Just before she could thank Basil for the answer, a hiss from nearby gave way to a sudden commotion.
Europa’s ears instinctively flattened against her head, shoulders squaring forward as her body prepared for an attack. Her claws unsheathed against the ground, ready for whatever was coming her way.
It was Whisker that Europa spotted first, the lanky tomcat batting a paw inside the den where they had put the Clan cat prisoner. Europa’s tail lashed. ”He’ll soon learn it’s better for him to be complacent. He’s lucky enough that we still offer him shelter and food,” the ginger molly muttered, eyes narrowed as she looked to where Whisker was stationed. She hoped that Windpaw would learn to calm down soon, or that Basil was right in her words. Surely the Clan cat would calm down once he had his friends.
The commotion must have been loud enough to be heard from a further distance, as it wasn’t long before the ever familiar black and ginger dappled pelt of Alice appeared from her den. Her head was held high as she glanced over at the cats gathered outside, though her attention soon focused toward Whisker as she asked, ”Are you managing well?” Her voice was level, her stance proud yet spoke of no hostility. She had heard the noise coming from outside her den, and was checking up on things. Europa stood and watched, waiting for her turn to speak with the rogue leader.
