"It'd be funny," Austin replied with a grin. Then nudged Trey's arm with an elbow. "Come on, we should go get food and see if there's any spare seats around here. If I'm going to sit through English this early, I'm going to need to have a full stomach."

Austin, however, sampled a bit of everything. By the time they were finished, his plate was twice as filled as Trey's. But if he was worried about not having time to finish it all, he showed no signs of it as he gazed around, searching for any signs of empty tables.

(Austin wanted it all. XD he might not have been give all, but he would have taken whatever he was given. XD)

"You think we got any classes together?" Austin asked once they were both seated at their table. He placed his carrying case on the bench/table beside him so it wouldn't be in the way, and once satisfied that it wouldn't fall, he began to dig into his food.

(He will do that. XD)

Austin hadn't bothered to put it in his carrier after getting it. Instead, he had placed it in his pants pocket. So at Trey's request, he pulled it back out, folded and a bit crumpled, and handed it over to his Trey.

"Well what do you know?" Austin said with a laugh. "The school didn't think it was enough to have us as roommates, but had to stick us with the same classes too. I don't know if that'd be considered lucky or some kind of punishment."

(Did they sign up for their sports and clubs before enrolling? Or do they sign up for them today once their classes are over? Asking because I was going to have him ask about them, but wasn't sure if that would be already determined or not.)

(Got it. Then I shall alter his question then. XD)

Austin slid the paper over to him and looked at it more closely. "What were your choices for sports and clubs?" he asked. "That might be where we go out separate ways during the day."

(Though that leaves me to ask another question: If they're supposed to stay in close contact with their eggs, how are they expected to partake in sports? Or will the sports start once the wyverns hatch?)

"Library duty? That sounds like such a boring club," Austin said. "No offense to you, though. If you like reading and books, then I'm sure it'll be great for you. It just sounds like the one where nothing happens."

(Works for me! And that's why I wanted to clarify. I have no idea when sports start in public schools in general, so I couldn't remember how soon they'd be doing sports while hatching wyverns. XD)

Austin had to nod in acknowledgement at that. The year would be filled with a lot of exciting things once the wyverns hatched, and he personally couldn't wait for it all. "At least you chose cross-country as the sport. You'll have a chance to get out there and stretch your legs a bit after spending all that time cooped up in the library," he said, joking and playfully nudging his arm with an elbow. "You do seem like a speedy type of guy. I bet you're pretty good at it, huh?"

"Ah, so you are a genuine bookworm then," Austin said with a chuckle. "Eh, don't sweat about it too much. I can help you out if you need me to. I haven't done cross-country myself, but I have been playing sports since I was eight. So I can help give you pointers until you get a feel for it if you'd like. Besides, cross-country isn't the hardest to learn. You're literally running. It'll be the building of your endurance and stamina that'll give you the most head-aches. Do you jog any as a workout?"

"Hiking will be the biggest help for you there then," Austin said. "Cross-country involves a lot of off-roading type of trails, so if you're used to serious hiking, you'll have a bit of that endurance already built up. You'll just have to take it up a notch and get used to it while running."

Austin's grin grew bigger, if possible. "Are you kidding? I wish we were able to start today! Football is one of the sports I always play, even outside of school. Best sport in my opinion. It's the only one where you're encouraged to tackle your opponent to the ground," he said. Then gave his chest a couple of hearty pats. "And I got a bit of a size advantage on most, so it's fun to see how others try to combat that. Makes things interesting."

"Then it'll be a new challenge for me to figure out," Austin said, not at all disturbed by the potential of being bested. Honestly, at the end of the day, sports were just that: sports. The results of a game didn't mean life or death. It just pushed them to strive for improvement. Not to mention, it would be boring if nobody was able to take him down. So the idea of having people who could give him a run for his money only made him that much more excited to begin.

Austin didn't have that debate. When he finished the last of his food, he stood, shoulder his egg's carrying case, and took it with him to go get a second helping. They still had a bit of time, and he was sure he would be able to finish it all before they had to be in class. So after he got his second helping, he returned to the table.
