Thank you, me too. I've been shaky all day - it's really caused my anxiety to spike.
Nothing seems to be distracting me either.

Been wondering how you're holding up so I'm glad to hear that you have something fun to do that helps you getting distracted, even if it's just a little!
Yeah, I did play the demo for a bit. And I didn't do nearly as bad as I feared I would. It was a lot of fun actually! My sense of direction is pretty bad though apparently, I keep running in circles before I actually run to where I need to go xD Oh well, I'll definitely get better at that. So yeah, I got the game and transferred my safe files. Weird thing is, I definitely want to play (this game and some other games) but somehow I just have my Switch sitting next to me and I don't end up playing anything at all. It's been like that for a few days now and it's a little annoying. I mean, since when do I procrastinate from stuff that's fun to me?! I might finally get started tomorrow though once I'm home from work. While I didn't play any stuff on my Switch today I did play some games on Steam so seems like my motivation is back.

Definitely. It's been rough but having some good distractions has been keeping my mental health good. Been watching a lot of play-throughs of a game called The Quarry too which has been a good time waster. Idk why because I loathe horror with a burning passion but this game seems to have a vice grip on me. Might be because it's a choice-based game and I'm a sucker for those.
I don't think it's just you! I, too, had trouble going the right direction at first but then my sense of direction in real life is pretty bad too so no surprises there.
And yeah, I totally get that. There have been many times when I've wanted to start a new game or tv show or something and it just... doesn't happen? I have a lot of time on my hands right now so no excuses haha

Yeah, watching playthroughs of some good games doesn't sound too bad. Then again watching any kind of stuff is a good time waster ^^ Been watching some Twisted Translations again (various songs translated using Google Translate and singing the nonsensical results), listened to some soundtracks and stuff like that. As for The Quarry, I never really looked into it since I'm not a fan of horror either but it being a choice-based game? Sounds interesting!
Oh, good to know xD My sense of direction in real life is neither super good or super bad but I don't really trust it either. And yay, more people putting off doing things they are excited about xD

Ooh, that sounds fun! It's been a while since I watched Twisted Translations. I believe the channel had a different name last time I watched their stuff so maybe I'll go back and see what new ones they've uploaded ^^
Yeah. I initially didn't intend to check it out but a few lets players I like started playing it. Not being a horror fan, The Quarry is, as far as I know, a bunch of horror tropes stuck into a blender and poured into a choice-based game mould (like the Life is Strange games or anything by David Cage). Lots of cringy dialogue but it's a fun romp, I think, and I like seeing what choices people make since literally all the characters can either live or die. It's by the same people as Until Dawn if you've heard of that game.

Oh, so you know that channel! Cool. And yeah, I think it was named Google Translate Sings at some point. It's still in the title of her videos but the channel is Twisted Translations now. But since we're already doing Google Translate stuff, ever heard of Book of Mario? It's a mod for Paper Mario and while I've never played the original games I love watching playthroughs of the google translated ones. Can't post any links here because it'd probably be against the rules, there's quite a lot of swearing in the translated dialogues xD One is Book of Mario 64, the other is Book of Mario Thousands of Doors.
Mhm, sounds like something I should check out then! It does sound kinda fun so it'll be worth a look. And yeah, I've heard of Until Dawn. Never played it and never watched a Let's Play but I did watch a Real-Time Fandub of it (yeah, very helpful, I know xD) and after that looked it up on TV Tropes (the game, not the fandub!) so I do know a bit about it. ...guess I should look up a playthrough of it anyway because I don't think there was anything on the TV Tropes page that tells me what the Ouija board actually said at one point. In the Real-Time Fandub it spelled "etroiled" and Chris, Josh and Ashley were kinda stumped by it xD |

Can't say I have! That sounds hilarious though so you can be sure that'll check it out when I get a minute. Honestly, every game should have a mod like that. Kind of reminds me of Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal which is a badly translated bootleg version of Pokemon Crystal (also a game I haven't played) where all the pokemon are referred to as 'elves'. Highly recommend if you haven't seen it yet and need a laugh. Or at the very least look at the TV Tropes! Haha, cool. I didn't even know there was a fandub for that game. I bet that made the horror seem a lot less horror-y which is always a good thing  Personally, out of the two games I prefer The Quarry but that's mostly because I liked the characters (or one specific character?) more than Until Dawn's. |

If you do then I recommend Fatguy703's videos. He's the one responsible for this mess and I like most of the voices he and his friends do for the characters. And yes, Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal is another fun experience! Never played it myself either but I totally watched it. The Rocket dude who's like "I will be rude to you if you disturb our work" and Silver's whole "trashy man" rant... or Silver being a creepy stalker, showing up in the ruins of that one tower because "I heard you were sleeping there" or something xD Yup, love it! It's still a bit disturbing of course but yeah, a lot less horror-y! Same goes for the Resident Evil 2 fandub. The fact that it's a real-time dub makes it even funnier somehow. No script, just improvising. And somehow it still manages to make sense. There are also real-time fandubs for many other games, so far they did Sonic Adventure 2 (a classic despite the toilet humor), Sly Cooper and the Thievus Raccoonus (not as popular as the Sonic dubs but still great), Marvel's Spider-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 (the fandub has a much better story than the original), Resident Evil 2, Sonic Riders, Until Dawn and they also recorded their fandub for Shadow The Hedgehog (not uploaded yet since Penny still needs to edit it but she's already put up a trailer). I've never played any of those games but the fandubs were still very much enjoyable. And then they also did a recording for a AI Dungeon generated Sonic script, Sonic Destruction. I'm not even a Sonic fan yet I still watch this stuff xD
So I guess the cast for The Quarry is more likeable than the Until Dawn one?

Noted! Thanks for the recommendations; always nice to have lots of stuff to watch and humorous stuff especially. The closest I've ever gotten to watching fandubs are [insert anime here] abridgeds but I can imagine real-time dubs are even more chaotic since there isn't a script.
It's debatable. I've seen a lot of people who prefer Until Dawn's cast. Supermassive Games loves creating characters who are, for lack of a better word, very flawed. I did have my favourites in Until Dawn too and some of them go through nice arcs (actually, the arcs are arguably better in UD) but I think I just cared more during The Quarry for whatever reason. Dylan from TQ is my boy so I tend to dip if a lets player manages to kill him off :')

Oooh, abridged series! Yup, they're fun too. But yeah, real-time fandubs are insane xD Same goes for google translated games I guess. Better get used to Goombell the horny Goomba because "let's go" and "come on" is often translated as "I came" and uh... yeah. And then there's Carbon the insane Koopa with a god-complex and a desire for destruction. Definitely my favorite character in Thousands of Doors xD
Yeah, even from the fandub I could tell they're probably not easy to love. But in the original they can't blame it on the bad vibes of Rude Mountain xD And yeah, totally get that. Don't kill off my favorite characters, dear let's players. Heck, even being mean to a character I like is bad enough. "Okay, I can kinda see why you don't like them but how dare you be mean to them!" xD

Well, the full videos are pretty long but there are some great parts that didn't make it into the highlights. Guess it depends how much time you want to spend on it. For the beginning I'd say you could try one of the highlights though! That's how I found this series in the first place and they really did choose well with the best parts.
Yup! Sometimes I can't even pick something morally questionable (as fun as it would be sometimes) because the other characters will comment on it. I'm like "Aaaargh, I really want to do this super questionable thing but I don't wanna disappoint my favourites!"

Alright ^^ One more thing, Thousands of Doors has the better main cast while 64 has a better story. At least in my opinion.
Yes! Why do they have to judge me for this super questionable thing?! xD And then there are times where I do pick the more questionable option because I think it's the only way (and then it turns out it's not) and feel awful about it for the rest of the game despite no one calling me out on it. I'm like "oh shit, I hope they won't find out about it.", "I'm sorry please don't hate me for the thing you hopefully won't find out about!" and "Dude, stop being nice to me, I totally betrayed your trust and I hope no one will tell you about it!" It's not easy, getting attached to a bunch of fictional characters xD

So far we only have AI generated trials and sure, they're fun to watch and wonderfully nonsensical but give us a google-translated game! Or just one case!

So, about what you said about how every game should have a Google Translate mod... Not only do I fully agree but you know what else every game should have? Or at least games with voice acting? A second english dub. With this kind of voice acting:

OHHH, I distinctly remember going on a binge of Chaos Wars clips back when I first saw that clip in a 'worst video game acting' video. Frankly, the fact that this dub was parsed is both crazy and delightful and I fully agree that all games need a second dub of this calibre. Thank you for reminding me of it's existence! I don't even know what this game is about but, yes, to any who haven't experienced the Chaos Wars dub, the whole game does indeed sound like that.

Oh good, so I'm not the only one who knows about this xD And yeah, like you I first saw it in a 'worst video game acting' video and just had to look up this game! It's delightful. I also love how Hyoma, Hiro and to some extend Rin sound somewhat good in comparison to the other characters. I mean, Hayatemaru can't even pronounce his best friend's name correctly, Shizuku is pretty awful too and don't get me started on Karen xD And then there was this dude named Zeros. Looked somewhat cool but has the voice of a four-year-old. Yup, I absolutely love the dub.
Now I wonder how Three Houses or Three Hopes would be with these kinds of voices. Shizuku can be Rhea

Am I remembering correctly that there was a creepy old man in this game at some point? Or is my brain just mixing this up with something else. I could have sworn that there was a lot of questionable (?) dialogue :')
I actually heard that the voice actors were maybe one of the production staff's kids and that's why it's so... unique? Not sure if that was a real thing or not.

Yeah, I may have watched those clips one too many times xD Hm... an old man? I guess Gaizan isn't the youngest and at least sounds pretty old. But there's also Gepetto. Though I think Uru is a lot more creepy in that clip, he says some weird stuff about Alice xD
I think there was another creepy guy somewhere. Yoichi or something? Not really an old man though. Not young either but no where near Gepetto's age.
And yeah, I heard that too. I think most if not all of them have the same last name. And as for why this guy did that was because for some reason having an english dub was required. And since most who knew about this game would pick the japanese dub anyway it wasn't that big of a deal. Don't take my word for it though, it's just something I read somewhere once. |

Major yikes, I forgot about this. Although "I'm Gepett. Her uncle D:<" got me laughing out loud Maybe I need to go back and watch all these clips again for old times sake. It's truly an important piece of pop culture. That makes sense to me. It has a similar energy to the Ghost Stories or Danganronpa 3 dub except those was voiced by professionals! Also better writing but, you know. |

It really is xD Kinda reminds me of those days in school when we all had to read some book and everyone had to read at least one paragraph out loud. We sounded just as bad. If only I had found out about Chaos Wars back then... I totally would have thrown in that creepy "you smell good" after some random line of dialogue Huh, it kinda does. God, I almost forgot about the Danganronpa 3 dub. As for the writing of Chaos Wars, yup. Some parts don't even make sense xD Apparently it's partly because the translation just isn't that good but I kinda doubt it is that much better in japanese. |

Everyone at school used to hate it when the teacher made us read anything out loud (particularly Frankenstein!). No-one was bold enough to throw in any extra lines though so I would like to be the fly on the wall of that hypothetical xD How could you forget "Kamakura Kamakura yas queen" and other such feats of writing? |

Haha, true. How could I? Or stuff like "They live and die by the meme". But there is one line that has stuck with me: Kirigiri's "Yeah, I don't get this either. Pretty sure I died." Wasn't that a blooper that was accidentally left in?
