I decided to draw Rekka :0 I'll probably draw all my kiddos, but the uniforms are such a chore to draw kljflaksdjf
If we get to the point of him becoming a Nine-tails, he'll have a streak of white in his hair and the brown will turn a darker black color. His beast form will also become white/silver :3

Hmmmm I wouldn't say I have anything specific in mind. Maybe something that encourages more dislike from Megumi so she's even more likely to turn down participating in the mock battle? Or there could be a group going out of school grounds and getting into something there? Idk, like I said, nothing concrete lakjflakjdflak

Maybe a student could, like, cheat whilst sparring with Megumi? Probably wouldn't be enough on it's own, but you know.
As for the group... say there's a rumour that the monastery is haunted so some students get bold and check it out. Extra scoldings for going out at night.
Or a group could go into town and end up getting into a fight with someone / witness some injustice and deal with it not so neatly?

Alright! None of my characters would cheat often, I don't think, but I can volunteer Grimm if need be! 3-4 students playing detective, messing it up and probably getting detention. Sounds fun! Very Harry Potter-esque  Each of us could have a character be part of that. |

Sure, a group of idiot detectives sounds fun! Both of my Golden Deer characters would be up for that. I guess Callan would only join if someone would ask him specifically. As for Julius, he loves exploring and adventures so it would make the most sense for him to do dumb stuff like that. It would be the perfect excuse for Akakios to learn more about the monastery's secrets too. So yeah, I guess I'll have Julius take part in the Ace Defectives' rule-breaking activities.
None of my characters would resort to cheating either. If none of her classmates pisses her off enough I could throw Jasmine at her at some point. She wouldn't cheat per se but she likes to fool her opponents into thinking she's right-handed and then surprise them. But independent on whether that's cheating or not, since taguel are native to Sreng Jasmine would be a bit of a jerk to Megumi. Doing stuff like taunting her and throwing insults at her. But other than that I can't think of anyone who would fight dishonorably against Megumi.

hmm i think either neason, because he sees it as being something fun and a nice way to goof off, pierce, seeing it as a way to get learn more about garreg mach/wants to prove ghosts arent real or alastair, because he just is curious, would be ones that join the detective team,

How are we gonna handle the spells? Does every character have a list of spells they can learn or can they just learn every spell of whatever form of magic they're focusing on? For now I have a list of black/dark and white magic for all my characters. The ones who generally won't use magic can only learn three Faith spells and two Reason spells. There's also some spells like Silence, Warp, Meteor and Bolting that would probably need some extra limitations. Same goes for Bohr Χ and Quake Σ. Maybe they're just super hard to cast and can only be used once per battle, or twice, depending on how overpowered they are? As for our adrestian nobles, are we gonna do what the game did? As in, are some of our characters from Great Noble families? That would make their fathers: Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs Minister of Military Affairs Minister of Domestic Affairs Minister of Religious Affairs Minister of the Imperial Household It's probably not super important but it might be good to know. If you want to pick up the Redwall series I'd definitely recommend 'Redwall', 'Mossflower' and 'Martin the Warrior' and you should probably read them in that order. I also like 'Outcast of Redwall', 'Mattimeo', 'The Long Patrol', 'The Bellmaker' and 'Lord Brocktree' a lot. And as I said, in terms of morality things are mostly black-and-white. Mice, otters, hares, squirrels, hedgehogs, moles, badgers are always the good guys (I think there was an evil or insane hedgehog once but that's it). Foxes, rats, ferrets, stoats and weasels are evil and vile, with very few exceptions. No matter who raises them, "vermin" are bad and "goodbeasts" are good. Pretty jarring in 'The Taggerung' and 'Outcast of Redwall' where an otter is raised by vermin and a ferret is raised by abbey dwellers respectively. If you don't mind the lack of morally grey characters though then sure, try reading one of the books. Oh, and I hope you don't mind the many songs. The beasts looove their songs. And food! And weird riddles. And battle-cries. Warning: Don't get attached to the wrong characters, chances are they might die. But I guess that goes for pretty much everything, not just Redwall. I just have no luck with picking favorites xD |

Ah, yes. Spells. I think it makes sense for everyone to have variations in their spell lists. For example, there would be some simpler spells that pretty much everyone learns, then the more substantial ones are a matter of skill and preference. It'll be a hard one to judge, I think. What does everyone else think? I'm down for that. If anyone wants to tweak their forms to mention who their father is out of the great noble families, I'll add it. We don't have enough Adrestian nobles to fill all of them though. PineclawSounds interesting honestly, but I do love my morally grey characters. I'll likely end up reading one of them anyway so thank you for the recommendations! It's pretty 50/50 with me and my favourite characters surviving - Danganronpa was a pretty good example of this xD |

Spells that anyone could learn would probably be Fire, Blizzard, Wind and Thunder for Black Magic, Miasma Δ for Dark Magic and Heal and Nosferatu for White Magic. Here's what my characters' spell lists would look like. They haven't learned all those spells yet, of course, but these are the ones they can learn. Bolded spells are the ones they know already. Nora Black Magic: Fire, Bolganone, Sagittae, Ragnarok, Meteor White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Physic, Silence, Abraxas Vincent Black Magic: Blizzard, Fimbulvetr White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Recover Agnar Black Magic: Wind, Ragnarok, Sagittae, Fimbulvetr, Bolting White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Physic Konstantin Black Magic: Thunder, Cutting GaleWhite Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, RescueCallan Dark Magic: Miasma Δ, Mire Β, Luna Λ, Dark Spikes Τ, Hades Ω or Quake Σ White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Recover Julius/Akakios Dark Magic: Miasma Δ, Swarm Ζ, Luna Λ, Death Γ, Bohr Χ White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Warp Jasmine Black Magic: Fire, Excalibur White Magic: Heal, Nosferatu, Restore
Not sure about Quake and Bohr though. Both are pretty powerful spells and I don't think they can be used by playable characters in the game. If we're gonna use them anyway I'd say Quake Σ can only be learned very late, can only be used once per battle and is very difficult to cast or has some other drawbacks. But we don't need that spell if its too much. I'd like to keep Bohr Χ though.
As for the Great Nobles, I'll wait to see what everyone else thinks. But as far as my own characters go, the von Corwin are only minor nobles but the von Marquardt would probably have a title like that. Can't decide between Domestic and Religious affairs right now ^^
Yeah, I get that. I'm usually not a fan of Black-and-White Morality ^^ Redwall is one of the few works where I can tolerate it and even then I wish there were more grey characters.
Don't remind me xD So many of my favorites died in each game. Sometimes as victims and sometimes as culprits. But it's all good, some of my most disliked characters died as well. It even went so far that I laughed and clapped at one of the executions. Yikes. As much as I might dislike some characters, it's pretty rare for me to actually cheer when they die. The only other exception I can think of is some disgusting, messed-up, worthless, punchable human-garbage-pile in the game 'The Caligula Effect'. I hate him so. Frickin'. Much.

Looking at it, I'm just worried about how to implement it without making anyone unduly overpowered. Obviously the spies will have more experience than the other students and teachers will be more skilled than both of them. I agree with what you've said about Bohr and Quake - we can use them if you want, but we need to impose serious limits so that we don't have students nuking the battlefield. I do think it would be odd to let our characters learn spells that the in-game ones can't but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Haven't done spell lists for my characters yet so I'll work on that when I get a minute. The von Hesper would be either Military Affairs or Imperial Household (though if they were the latter, I'd probably have to retcon Grimm not knowing Silke). Wow :0
I do love DR. If we're talking about morally grey characters, they have some... interesting ones.
Since I'm curious:
Whose execution was it? I've only ever loathed one DR character (it has been a while since I played) and they didn't get a proper execution.
The Caligula Effect is another game I've heard of. Some not-so-good reviews put me off buying it if I remember correctly. |

We'll definitely need to set some limits as to how often spells can be used per battle. Not exact numbers, at least not for every spell, just that the easier, weaker spells can be used more freely. Maybe casting one of the more powerful spells takes more time so they'll have to think about whether using one is worth it. I think Silence, Meteor, Bolting and Quake should definitely be limited to one use though because of their range. I don't see much issue with spells that were only used by enemies in the game. It would be kinda weird if no one could use them even though they exist. Maybe they're especially hard to learn and are so hard to perform that whoever casts them can't use any more spells during that battle. We could definitely make Quake less powerful too so that its main-purpose is to be a nuisance and to slow down advancing enemies. No changes like that to Bohr though, as a baddie Akakios gets to keep that one xD Take Military then, no retconning needed for that ^^ They sure have! Man, now I seriously need to play them again. It was that creepy anthropologist-guy from V3. Korekiyo, I think? He just really got on my nerves during his trial and the whole incest-crap was a big 'Nope' for me xD I enjoyed his Free-Time Events and think he's pretty interesting though and there are definitely much worse characters. Plus, he turned see-saws into a meme xD Have you played Ultra Despair Girls? That game has my most hated character in it, at least in the danganronpa-franchise. Understandable. In terms of gameplay it's pretty lacklustre and can get really tedious. I enjoy the story though and love the characters. It took me a while to really want to give the game a chance but I'm glad I did and I'm really looking forward to its sequel. I hope it gets released in Europe. Anyway, the gameplay can be a huge turn-off so I understand anyone who doesn't want to play it. Sure, I ended up enjoying the game but I'll be the first one to agree that it has a lot of issues, especially in terms of combat and the quest-system. |

She looks amazing, Spark ^o^ Agreed! I'll try and find a list of magic to link on the main thread or make one myself. All the spells you listed + warp should be one use, yes. I think a lot of the REALLY powerful spells should be last resorts more than anything; they would sap the user's energy and potentially even paralyse them for a short while (depending on the caster). When we get much later into the rp and characters are further along in their classes, we can experiment with limits and see what works. Mm. Makes sense!
The character I hated was Tsumugi but I guess that's a pretty basic (or even plain...) opinion to have. I did! You're either talking about Monaca or Haji, right? Maybe I will give it a go at some point. I've always been more of a story-based gamer so I might still like it. Have you played AI: The Somnium Files? |
