Birdscreech Bluffclan || with Moonpaw and Galewhistle As Moonpaw pushed the bird to Birdscreech, he shook his head with a snort. “What nonsense,” he said. “You’re a growing young lass! You arguably need more nutrition now than ever! Get those bones a-growing!” He took a few bites of the bird and pushed it back to Moonpaw. “Let us share! I’ve grown more bones than I’ll ever need! In this lifetime, anyway.”
As he lapped up the herbs set beside him, his eyes followed the weary walk of Galewhistle. He was puzzled. Was she going around checking on every cat of both clans while he was recovering from potential brain damage? How kind! How thoughtful! But that seemed like an awful lot of work for one cat. (Guilt sat in his stomach. Oh dear oh dear. What was he thinking, getting himself hurt? Lying in the nest for so long? Now he's put the work of caring for his own clan on the shoulders of another cat. Oh dear oh dear.) He would most certainly have to head over and warn the younger medicine cat the dangers of overworking your tail off! Perhaps offer an experimental recipe for energy-boosting involving centipedes (they’re quick little things! Perhaps the speed of these speedsters will transfer over!)
“Well, my dear Moonpaw,” he rasped as he rose to his paws. “To be quite frank, I do believe I’ve scared any potential apprentices off!” Birdscreech chuckled to himself as he turned towards the medicine cat’s den. “Though, it seems like we’re about to head off, and it appears poor Galewhistle has taken over my responsibilities. Now that my head is most definitely screwed on right this time, let’s go help her out, shall we? Come with, come with!”
He hobbled over to the den, nudging his way through. “Galewhistle!” he said, his cheer quickly morphing into concern as he took in the medicine cat’s state. “My dear Galewhistle, what a wonderful spirit you are,” he said. “Are you doing quite alright? Perhaps I should bring you some water?” Birdscreech hurried over, falling into a check-up procedure out of habit. “Thank you for taking over while I was incapacitated, my friend, but the kind Starclan has ensured that my head is no longer fuzzy. I only wish I woke earlier and aided you in your efforts! I had no idea you were planning on putting it all on your shoulders!”
He shook his head. “If you need help, please ask,” he said, and for a moment his voice lacked its usual light-hearted, borderline goofy tone. There was a sadness in his eyes, as if he’s seen this cycle before, only to meet with tragedy. “You are not alone, my friend.”
And with that, the sorrow lifted and the old medicine cat sprang up. “Well then! Let us bundle up any remaining herbs, shall we? Rest now, let us trade off! My new friend Moonpaw and I can handle any medicinal business coming our way!”

Gullfeather - BluffClan - Stonepelt (aether )
The gray and white she-cat walked along Stonepelt as he deflected her first comment. She didn't respond, but she smirked slightly to herself. Of course she hadn't expected the tom to actually agree with her about being the better hunter. In fact, she didn't even know if she was the better hunter out of the two of them. Now that she was thinking about it, she didn't know that much about Stonepelt in general. I mean, sure, she had the basics and what she'd seen of him in their brief interactions, but nothing substantial. With an uncomfortable shiver she realized something; she wanted to know more about Stonepelt. How did one even go about that? She couldn't just ask him out of nowhere, that would be weird. Oh dear StarClan, to get to know a cat you have to spend time with them. Gullfeather's ears grew hot as she realized that this journey through the mountains presented her with nothing but time to get to know Stonepelt. Fortunately, he spoke again before she had time to have to deal with that realization. "You know what?" She began, looking at him now. "I'd love nothing more than to leave you and your bees to freeze back here." She meowed with indignation, turning her own nose up to match Stonepelt. However, she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye before continuing, "But if you got lost or trampled by a sea of HeathClan cats I'd be unbearably bored the rest of this trip."

Harestep - HeathClan - Stormclaw ( fire)
The golden brown tom stared ahead, a hopeful gleam in his eyes as he walked along with the swarm of cats. He was glad that he was able to take a last morning on his territory with Honeyshade. It was nice to be able to take a moment in something familiar before the leaders signaled it was time to leave. Now, he found himself walking alone even though he was surrounded by other cats. His long legs gave him the advantage of being able to look around and pick out other cats with relative ease. He remembered Scarletfall from the night before and how nervous she had seemed. I hope she's alright. He thought with a worried twitch of his whiskers. Finally, his gaze settled on his clanmate Stormclaw who also seemed to be walking alone. Eager for company and possibly conversation, Harestep weaved carefully through the warriors between them and fell in step beside the tom. "Stormclaw." He meowed a greeting, dipping his head as he greeted his clanmate.

It turns 1 month tomorrow in my time zone, but as far as it being around a full month, happy birthday to this journey!
This is one of the few RPs I've been in that have actually lasted a while, and even though I only arrived here about a week and a half ago, I've gotten pretty attached to this. Can't wait to see where it goes!

Stonepelt - 🌊
- 🐚 - Gullfeather, Whiskerflick ;; - 🐚 - HeathClan Camp ;; - 🐚 - shadowstreak ;;
In all honesty, the pale grey tabby tom was surprised to find Gullfeather didn't leave. He'd been expecting some form of exasperation at his words, instead, he was stupefied to find she merely response indignantly. He turned his head to study her briefly while she looked ahead. He blinked dumbly a few times before a smirk crept onto his lips, he lifted his tail and tapped it on her spine. "In that case, I'm glad to know I'll have you to protect me." His words lingered in the air for a moment, seemingly sweet, until he followed up with, "I'll use you as a decoy and escape if we encounter danger." Slyly, he eyed her. It seemed rather impossible to get any sort of tenderness from the tom, although for all he was concerned she was bickering just as much as he was. Admittedly, it was nice to have a conversation outside of the topics that consisted of lack of prey and twolegs. He heard a stiffing laugh to his other side and whipped his head to Whiskerflick who appeared to be watching with great amusement. Instantly, Stonepelt pushed himself away from Gullfeather's side and he felt his pelt prickle with sheepish embarrassment. The lithe brown tabby was quick to notice when Stonepelt turned on him and his amusement washed away; replaced with a sort of panic. Facing Stonepelt's wrath was one thing, but facing Stonepelt's and Gullfeather's wrath together? It was enough to make even the most seasoned warrior pitiful.
"Did you see something funny?" Stonepelt snapped, his tail whipped behind him. It has hard to notice Gullfeather's lack of warmth at his side when he felt his skin blaze with self-consciousness.
Whiskerflick shook his head quickly and shuffled his paws, plucking at the spongy grass as though it would give him an idea of how to talk his way out of the situation. "I just thought it was interesting that you two might become... well... close?" His voice was strained as he tried to pick his words carefully.
Featherfall -🌊
- 🕊 - Shadepelt ;; - 🕊 - HeathClan Camp ;; - 🕊 - fire ;;
Featherfall found herself where she usually did; at the edge of the crowd. After a night of slipping in and out of sleep she'd finally drifted into a satisfying rest, only to be woken by Silentstar's yowl around the clearing. Without complaint, she'd dragged herself from her nest and moved to the crowd. Swiftly a pile of herbs had been dropped at her paws and the cat who left them, Galewhistle, disappeared again as suddenly as she appeared. Obediently, Featherfall bent her down and licked up the herbs, chewing them slowly, her eyes not betraying the fact she found them distasteful. Straightening up once more the molly locked her gaze over the moor slope and upwards towards the mountains. It wasn't often she felt excited about something, but something about the mountains seemed... magical. One of Featherfall's greatest pleasures was hunting alone of the headlands, dancing over the rocks and leaping into the sky to catch seabirds. She could only imagine how that feeling would intensify when she was surrounded by rocks to leap on. Where others wanted to get the journey started out of anxiety to find their home, she willed the journey to initiate so she could experience the feeling within the mountains.
Before she'd retired to her nest the day before Wolfstorm had instructed her to keep an eye on the kits and queens - which made sense as she'd assisted in carrying Lynxkit to safety - and she obliged. Still she kept to the edges of the group, watching but not so willing to partake in mindless conversations. Her ears swiveled as she heard the sounds of Stonepelt snapping at someone. They swiveled again as Seapaw, nearby, meowed about her dream of catching a seagull. She was characteristically alert, her eyes narrowed and her nose constantly twitching to take in strange scents should any appear. The words cats spoke fazed out and she hyper-focused on the sound of the wind howling over the moor.

Stormclaw Tom | Warrior | 23 moons HeathClan Camp/Territory | Harestep (shadowstreak)
Stormclaw had continued on walking, not taking part in any conversation after he'd spoken to Shadedspeck. The cats around him began to converse among themselves as the journey began, and he noticed how some of them (mostly the younger ones) were looking eager or had only slight nervous anticipation, while the elders and queens looked on with a dull gaze, as if they were only at the beginning of a long and dangerous task. Which they were. The black tom swiveled his blue gaze to a pair of BluffClan cats that were talking together, looking as if they both wanted each other's company, but didn't want to say it aloud. He raised an eyebrow at their fake bickering and then directed his attention to the cats ahead, and the mountains beyond them. How long would it even be before they were close to the mountains? He knew the group would have to stop often so the elders and queens could rest, which made his stomach fill with nervous anxiety. What would they do if they didn't reach the mountains soon, and the Twolegs were able to catch them? Before he could get too deep into his thoughts, a HeathClan tom approached him.
"Harestep," he said, fake-bowing and mimicking the tom's greeting. He and Harestep had gotten along well when Stormclaw was a newly-made warrior, and he appreciated the tom for trying to welcome him in when he was still new. Of course, that was after the fact. Back then, Stormclaw had been determined to stand on his own paws, so when Harestep tried to talk to him about it, it felt as if he were being condescending and patronizing. So, maybe they hadn't along too well at first. But that was then, and Stormclaw had already let the tom know he'd appreciated his welcoming, even if he didn't show it at first. As Stormclaw had grown older, he'd realized the value of making bonds with your Clanmates and appreciating Clan life for the little things. "How are you feeling about the journey?" he asked, keeping his gaze ahead, but glancing to Shadedspeck every now and again in case the elder needed help.
made up some lore real quick lol, hope you don't mind//
ShadepeltTom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Territory | Featherfall (aether)
Shadepelt was busying himself with his own thoughts after he'd said his silent prayer. He kept glancing at Feathersoul and Wolfstorm, making sure they were alright, before he went to staring ahead, drifting back into his own little world. He wondered where Vixenshine and her kits were. Glancing back, he saw Jackdawstar emerging from the nursery, with a slight gleam in his eye, and he wondered what they had talked about. Shrugging, the black tom was about to get lost in his thoughts again, this time thinking of the mountains, when he noticed a she-cat pad up next to him. It was Featherfall. He remembered that she had also been selected to look after the queens and kits while the journey was underway. Remembering his attempt at conversation with her yesterday, which had ended in her lost in thought, he wasn't exactly eager to repeat the process today. He wasn't sure if she just hadn't heard him (he'd called her name multiple times), or if she just didn't want to be bothered. Either way, he figured that he might still be able to strike up a conversation with her, and so he spoke. "Hey," he said, his voice coming out slightly duller than he'd expected. Was the journey already taking a toll on him? He was unsure how to follow up his original greeting. Featherfall had always been a cat that was never on the top of the list for cats to make friends with, for him. Her cold and aloof demeanor warded off most others from doing the same. He'd almost talked to her at times, but could tell the conversation wouldn't exactly end well. Why he thought it would yesterday was beyond him. But he had to think of something quick. As the silence stretched on, he looked around frantically to find something to talk about. Noticing that she had a gleam in her eye when she looked at the mountains he said, "Are you ready to face the mountains? I don't know how I feel about them myself..." He let his voice trail off, wondering about the dangers they'd face before, during, and after their visit to the mountains. And to think it was only the first phase in the journey.

STORMCHILL leaving heathclan camp / with silentstar Out of the corner of his eye, a familiar black-furred figure approached, twitching her ears in quiet greeting. "Spiderwatcher." He acknowledged her with a slight inclination of his head. A moment of uncomfortable silence stretched between them during which they both thought about their argument yesterday. Stormchill braced himself for admonition, only to turn his head and blink in surprise at the molly's apology.
Her voice was calm and soft, but the tension in her shoulders belayed her anxiety about the journey ahead. Privately, he shared her anxiety. He shifted his cool blue gaze to the two leaders, a slight frown creasing his forehead. He'd seen Jackdawstar moving briskly from group to group, handing out assignments to the other warriors, but Stormchill hadn't yet been assigned any duties. With a pang of guilt he wondered if it was because the leader thought him incapable of staying calm and focused, given his uncharacteristic outburst the other day.
But before Stormchill could answer Spiderwatcher, the two leaders had separated. As Jackdawstar slipped into the nursery, Silentstar strode to the center of the clearing to make the announcement that the Clans were leaving. Beside him, Spiderwatcher bade him goodbye and padded off to find her apprentice, leaving Stormchill alone in his thoughts once more.
After that, everything seemed to speed up. Cats bustled back and forth, rounding up the elders, checking in with their apprentices, and picking up bundles of traveling herbs that had been prepared by the medicine cats before heading out. The Clans were leaving. The journey had begun. Stormchill walked right past the packets of traveling herbs that were being distributed -- surely there was someone else who'd need it more than him, he would be fine without it -- and found himself falling into step beside the stoic BluffClan leader. As they exited the camp, he did not look back, even though his heart was heavy with sorrow at leaving his home. "So, it begins," he murmured, half to himself.
OWLFROST leaving heathclan camp | with blazingsky Owlfrost stumbled sideways, flinging his long tail out for balance. The burly warrior's shoulder-bump had been a friendly gesture, but it had knocked the wind out of him and nearly bundled the slender warrior off his feet. He quickly righted himself and smoothed his fur as if he'd been disturbed by a momentary gust of wind and nothing more. "Blazingsky!" He exclaimed cheerfully at the same time as his thoughts grumbled, Blazingsky; what an oaf he is. A handsome oaf, surely, but an oaf nonetheless. "'Tis always a pleasure - for you, of course, to be in my presence."
The auburn warrior struck an odd pose Owlfrost guessed was meant to look heroic, his ridiculously fluffy coat billowing in the breeze. Owlfrost suppressed a pinch of irritation, his ears twitching slightly. Blazingsky always acted as if he thought he was better and more good-looking than anyone else, even Owlfrost, which was utterly preposterous; few were as pretty as he. The long journey ahead would provide ample opportunities for Owlfrost to impress and amaze the mollies of both Clans, and he would not allow Blazingsky to steal his limelight. More likely, the fool would attempt to awe some dewy-eyed young she-cat with his strength, overextend himself, and fall over a cliff within a week. But at least it would make Owlfrost look better in comparison.
He said none of this aloud, of course. 'Twas common knowledge - it needed no repeating.
Instead, the bengal tom flashed Blazingsky a roguish grin. "Indeed, I suspect there shall be plenty of time for mingling - 'tis a prospect I greatly look forward to!" With a wink and a debonair swish of his tail, he set off for the exit. "Shall we?"

[ i'm glad to hear that ember! glad your prof isn't giving you a hard time C: ] Featherfall - 🌊
- 🕊 - Shadepelt ;; - 🕊 - HeathClan Territory ;; - 🕊 - fire ;;
The large mottled molly was entranced by her own thoughts that when Shadepelt approached her she initially didn't notice. In fact, she didn't hear his greeting when he came to walk near her. She stared blankly for a moment, her maw opening just slightly as she tried to think if he'd approached with a question or a greeting. If he approached with a question she would have to answer it, but she didn't know what it would be. If he had uttered a greeting then she would be obliged to return it. She could feel each heartbeat stretch on with the silence and she tipped her head slightly. What was she supposed to say? Why did he have to talk to her now...
Thankfully, Shadepelt spoke again and this time she was waiting for his words. However, she resisted the urge to roll her eyes with boredom. Small talk. It was the bane of her very existence. She was not a rude cat though, Featherfall didn't take pleasure in acting harshly or purposefully cruel to others; she merely didn't always appreciate their presence. She turned her head forward, eyeing the mountain peaks thoughtfully for a few silent moments. "They won't be too different from the headlands." She reasoned, her voice was surprisingly soft and quiet given her large and aloof demeanor. "I think the moorlands are strange. We are constantly exposed. But the mountains are full of surprises." Her claws curled into the soft earth and she imagined them scraping over stone. "Besides, I would rather be there then back at camp." The image of twolegs bursting through the camp walls reemerged in her mind and it only reinforced her determination to reach the peaks in the distance.

Shadepelt Tom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Territory | Featherfall (aether)
Shadepelt was a very intelligent cat; a fact that most people overlooked or didn't pay attention to when he told them. Some thought he was just a pushover who liked to have fun and enjoy life. Some thought he was only as smart as the next warrior. But whether they'd believed him or not, Shadepelt had used his intelligence to judge the cats he was talking to and the cats around him. So even though Featherfall politely hid her disdain at this irrelevant conversation, Shadepelt easily picked up on the signs that she'd rather be somewhere else than here. He wasn't surprised, however. He'd known what he was walking into when he decided to start this conversation. The tom waited for her answer, and wasn't too shocked that she actually wanted to be in the mountains. She had always seemed like the type of cat who craved a lifestyle for herself and only herself, so she was bound to like things that the normal cat wouldn't.
Glancing up at the mountains after her finishing statement, he was still a little daunted by the size of them. When would they reach it? Would the Twolegs catch them first? But before he could begin to repeat the same thoughts and get stuck down that rabbit hole, he cleared hsi throat and said, "I guess. I mean, I'd rather be just about anywhere other than our camp right now." He gave a slight chuckle and jumped over a dip in the ground. "The mountains scare some cats, but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that it attracts you. If you ask me, it isn't exactly my idea of fun." While the tom did like to live his life to the fullest, he wasn't sure he'd be able to enjoy himself on this trip with the burden that everyone was carrying. This wasn't a border patrol, this was a journey for a new home.
Suddenly, with a question popping in his head, he gave her a sidelong glance and asked, "Hey, why is it you don't like spending time with anyone? Not saying it's wrong or anything, or that you have to, it's just..." His voice trailed off. He felt like he was pushing his luck. From what he'd seen of her in BluffClan, any cat would be lucky to get half as many words out of her as he'd had already. But it had been a question he'd wondered for a long time. And that's all it was... "...a question."

Featherfall - 🌊
- 🕊 - Shadepelt ;; - 🕊 - HeathClan Territory ;; - 🕊 - fire ;;
Featherfall was unsurprised to find her thoughts and feelings towards the mountains were not shared with her black-furred clanmate. Oftentimes she found herself the bearer of a strange opinion; it was easier to hold her tongue then prove a point. Her ears swiveled absently atop her head and she could head the murmurings of BluffClan and HeathClan warriors alike sharing the same opinions as Shadepelt. The mountains would be vast and blanketed with snow, a decrepit landscape that would bring it's own series of challenges. She simply couldn't help the twinkle of excitement that spun in her gut. "I suppose we'll see," she murmured somewhat absently in reply. Her whiskers twitched and she glanced out of the corner of her eyes to the moor; she could scent stale fox. It was probably long gone by now.
Content to continue in silence, Featherfall glanced back to Shadepelt at his next question. She studied him for a moment, her yellow-green gaze clouded and unreadable. She was aware of Shadepelt; he'd been a chirpy clanmate since he was a kit. Like she was with everyone, she'd always been distanced from the tom, but she studied from afar. She couldn't pinpoint her reason, but she was sure the tom wasn't all he seemed to be. For that reason, she decided to humour him.
"I never said I don't like spending time with others," her voice leaned towards thoughtfulness, "I just never know what to say or do." There was certainly truth to her words, she had the tendency to be curt or to sharp at the best of times, but there was more to her reasoning as well. "I think I have a clearer mind when I'm alone." That part was especially true. It was strange, really, as the molly had lived a perfectly normal life with her perfectly normal family. She had just always been more... perceptive.
"What about you?" She looked ahead once more but eyed him from her peripherals, "What draws you to being so talkative?"

Shadepelt Tom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Territory | Featherfall (aether)
Shadepelt listened as the she-cat explained her reasoning for why she was so quiet. He smiled. She wasn't the outcast many assumed her to be, well, not because she simply didn't like other cats, at least. When she turned his question around on him, he widened his eyes a little. He wasn't expecting to be asked about. He narrowed his eyes as he thought about the answer to her question. "Hmm..." Why was he the way he was? He'd been a kit who had always wanted to explore and have fun, much to the amusement and then annoyance of the queens in the nursery. As an apprentice and now a warrior, he had retained his carefree and fun-loving attitude, and had even been on a few adventures with some of his Clanmates.
Even now, as the journey loomed over every cat's head, he wondered if the journey would be more than a ruthless challenge. Remembering the question he said, "I don't know. It's just fun. And natural. To talk with others." Shadepelt wasn't one to spend a lot of time by himself, unless he was doing something fun that he wanted to enjoy by himself. Plus, what was the point of being part of a Clan if you didn't talk to your Clanmates? He glanced at Featherfall and tried to read her expression, something he was usually pretty good at. But the best he could get from her gaze was that she seemed to be a little more interested in the conversation now than she had been earlier. Inwardly, he was surprised at how well the conversation was going. Maybe the she-cat was right; she was a bit of a talker if she knew what to say.
Remembering when she had talked about looking forward to the mountains he said, "I wonder if there will be any adventure in the mountains? Hopefully there aren't any dangers-" He cut himself off. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Twoleg vehicles in the direction of the BluffClan camp. Some Twolegs were standing around yelling at each other, while others drove big, yellow monsters that tore up anything in its path. "They've completely overrun it," he said to himself. "There's nothing left." His eyes darkened a bit. "They took it." It wasn't until he heard Featherfall clearing her throat that he snapped out of his trance and said, "Oh, sorry." What happened there? He asked himself, but didn't say anything aloud. He tried to look around for something to distract the subject from him, but to no avail.

(Sorry I was busy yesterday and didn't have time to get on!)
Gullfeather - BluffClan - Stonepelt, Whiskerflick ( aether ) Gullfeather rolled her eyes at the gray tom's words. "Your bravery pales only in comparison to your joyful charm." She meowed in reply to his comment about using her as a decoy. While her words were dripping with sarcasm, there was also amusement there too. Honestly, she was surprised she had been able to put up with Stonepelt for this long; usually she found find herself incredibly bored in her conversations with most of her clanmates. I suppose even more impressive than her putting up with the tom would be that he was putting up with her. She was pulled out of her thoughts when Stonepelt whipped his head around to glare at someone. Only then did she become aware of the quiet sniggering from Whiskerflick. Her own thick pelt bristled with anger, green eyes blazing. Honestly, she could care less what the reason for his laughter was, it was just the fact that someone was laughing at her. She could deal with arguing, anger, or even a rude comment or two. But laughing? That meant someone didn't take her seriously. Or, at least, that's how it came across to her. Too frustrated to notice Stonpelt leaving her side, she shouldered past him to get to Whiskerflick. Ignoring Stonpelt's already pointed question, Gullfeather practically spat out her own input. "Don't you have better things to fill your mouse-brain with like, I don't know, our clan being relocated instead of coming up with gossip-fodder like some queen?"
Harestep - HeathClan - Stormclaw ( fire) The golden tom was glad to see that Stormclaw seemed to be welcoming him to walk with him. Harestep would much prefer having someone to talk with than journeying in silence. While Stormclaw had seemed wary of the warrior's friendship in the beginning, he had seemed to become more inclined to accept the friendliness of others over time. As a cat who strove to make others feel taken care of and at ease, Harestep was glad of this. "I think that it's necessary." Harestep began in response to Stormclaw's question. "I was definitely more shocked in the beginning, and while I'm still not completely comfortable with leaving our home, I know we don't have much of a choice." He gave his tail a thoughtful flick. "I'm glad I'm not a leader right now - I can't imagine all of the impossible decisions they're going to have to make." His heart went out to Silentstar and Jackdawstar, truly. With a tilt of his head, he looked over at Stormclaw. "What about you? How are you feeling?"
(I don't mind you adding a bit of lore at all!)

Featherfall - 🌊
- 🕊 - Shadepelt ;; - 🕊 - HeathClan Territory ;; - 🕊 - fire ;;
At the expense of being elitist, Featherfall couldn't help feeling as though needing to be around others so much was... a fault. While Shadepelt was rather oblivious to Featherfall and her life (as most were), she was quite actively aware of others. If someone asked her what a cats biggest weakness was she'd probably have a good idea. She was well aware of hearing Stonepelt and Gullfeather snapping nearby. If they just minded their own business, they wouldn't succumb to their self-conscious and stubborn tendencies. That was why she preferred her solitary existence - as solitary one could be when amongst the clan. However, Shadepelt mentioned it came naturally to him to talk with others. Perhaps as naturally as it came to her to sit back and watch. "Interesting," was all she uttered in her characteristically soft voice.
She was contented to end the conversation once again, but found herself being drawn back in when Shadepelt opened his maw and spoke. Back to squirrel-chatter it seemed; talk that wasn't particularly interesting to the molly. What did intrigue her was the sudden change in the toms persona. There wasn't anything dramatic, in fact, to the untrained eye it would have been unnoticeable. But Featherfall spent her days perceiving and interpreting from afar. The hitch in his voice, the dark flash in his gaze; it was like the first drop of rain on a hot day. She herself was rather unbothered by the sight of twoleg monsters eating up the BluffClan camp. Yesterday it was unsettling to have their world upturned, but now she was focused on the new task at hand: reaching the mountains.
She stared at the black tom intently, narrowing her gaze as though studying him. "Strange." She meowed peculiarly, although the large molly did not elaborate. "Now we know we can't look back, only forward." Her feathery tail swept over the earth, "No doubt we'll have hard times in the mountains." Effortlessly, she bounded over a dip in the earth. "Do you think you'll be okay?" While it would be easy to interpret her words as the caring consideration of a clanmate that was not her intention. Her mind flickered to the strange look he'd held in his eyes moments ago. It was... somewhat unnerving.
Stonepelt - 🌊

Like a deer caught in headlights, Whiskerflick froze under Gullfeather's intensely blazing eyes. I really know how to get my paws mixed in others business! Sheepishly, he glanced to his side to see in anyone would jump to his defense. Alas, the one clanmate who did meet his gaze - Featherfall - hardly gave him a second look. He gulped. "I-uh," Whiskerflick stepped back a pace and flicked his ears thoughtfully, "Here, I didn't mean anything bad by it!" He reasoned, "In fact because of everything going on at the moment I thought it was nice!" Whiskerflick gazed with round yellow eyes between Stonepelt and Gullfeather. The friendly tom clearly hadn't meant any harm in his actions, but could he convince them of that? "I always thought you two were quite similar, so honestly it's not surprising if you ask me." For all his good intentions, Whiskerflick was not the wisest tom on the moor.
Stonepelt snorted and stalked to stand by Gullfeather's shoulder, "Sounds like you need to stop thinking things!" He snapped. Whose business was it if he and Gullfeather spent time together? They hadn't even insinuated anything! His throat rumbled with the beginnings of a growl. Should he feel self-conscious to be walking by Gullfeather's side? Were others watching?! His green gaze flickered around suspiciously. Some cats offered glances back curiously although their attention was turned towards Whiskerflick and the situation as opposed to eyeing him. His pelt smoothed somewhat and he let out a rough sigh.

Stormclaw Tom | Warrior | 23 moons HeathClan Territory | Harestep (shadowstreak )
Stormclaw pondered the tom's answer. He agreed with him, especially about the part where he felt bad for the leaders that had to shoulder the decisions that would be made on this journey. He thought about his own desire to become deputy, and maybe leader one day, of HeathClan, and wondered if he'd be able to carry the burden that these leaders were carrying right now. He was doubtful, but eventually shrugged it off. He couldn't afford to focus on his potential shortcomings while they were in the middle of a journey. All his senses had to be alert for any danger; there was no telling what the Twolegs would do. As the tom directed his question back to him, his eyes went toward the sky, thinking.
"I'm not sure. There might be adventure, but I'm worried about how the elders, queens, and kits will take this. This isn't exactly an easygoing trip." Stormclaw's eyes wandered over to the groups he'd mentioned, and he could see that the short amount they'd walked already was beginning to take a toll on the cats, especially cats like Shadedspeck and Vixenshine, and for good reason. He didn't envy being them at all right now. "We'll all get through this, one step at a time," he said, but it felt like he was encouraging himself more than Harestep. "Anyway, what do you hope our new home looks like?" He asked, trying to swing the conversation to a more light-hearted topic.
ShadepeltTom | Warrior | 24 moons HeathClan Territory | Featherfall (aether )
Shadepelt met her gaze as she asked him if she was okay. As much as he wanted to mistake it for genuine kindness, he knew her question was out of sheer curiosity more than anything else. "Yeah, I'm fine," he said. "Nothing... wrong." He'd been feeling strange ever since his cowardly escape yesterday; he had been one of the first cats to escape the destruction of BluffClan's camp, and hadn't gone back to help the others. His thoughts had begun to make him second-guess himself, and he wondered if his kind persona was just a facade for the cowardly cat he was underneath. He knew that if he was pushed too far, he could get extremely cold and angry, but that had only happened once, when he was an apprentice. He didn't like to think about it. But he had never felt... scared when pushed too far. What was happening to him?
Shaking his head and shrugging off these thoughts he said, "Anyway," rather loudly, obviously trying to move the conversation to something else. "I hope our new home doesn't have a trace of Twolegs, not in the past, present, or future." He cast a glance back at the hairless creatures that were slowly dissolving his memories, his home. He almost got pulled back into his mind, but turned his gaze at the last second and looked over at Featherfall. "Don't worry about what happened. Seriously. It's just the journey getting to me. It's not easy on any cat, I'm sure." Noticing her rather unbothered look at the mention of the journey, and remembering her enthusiasm for the mountains he added quietly, "Well, maybe except you."
What do you think about the idea of Featherfall being Muse N? I think that their character development together might be nice, but lemme know if you think otherwise or have any other ideas!

Gullfeather - BluffClan - Stonepelt, Whiskerflick (aether ) Gullfeather narrowed her eyes as the tabby defended himself, her tail lashing. However, her anger began slowly ebbing away when she saw how truly startled Whiskerflick looked. If she had the emotional aptitude to calm down and rationalize the situation, she would know that the tom hadn't meant any harm by his comment. It was an innocent, albeit somewhat embarrassing, observation. However, Gullfeather was not that cat. She was an 'act now think later - or maybe never' kind of cat. "Yes well we didn't ask you so maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself until someone does." She growled. While her eyes still flashed, it was more annoyance now than anger and her pelt had begun to lie flat. Since she had started calming down, she was aware now of Stonepelt standing closely at her shoulder once more. Her pelt began prickling again slightly but she decided to chalk it up to lingering annoyance at Whiskerflick. With a snort, she lifted her head and turned away from the tabby tom, deciding not to waste anymore time talking about his observations and conclusions he had been drawing. She wanted him to stop thinking those things. Truthfully, she didn't want to think about them either. With a halt, she paused as she turned back to face Stonepelt. "I for one would rather get this journey over with instead of wasting my breath on certain cats." She added with one last glare at Whiskerflick. Sighing, she let her shoulders relax and shot a glance at Stonepelt before padding forward with the others again who were seemingly unaware or just uninterested in the argument that just took place, "You can join me if you want or just spend some alone time with your brain bees." Her toned was slightly strained, but her offer was genuine and she hoped the gray tom could tell. Walking together would certainly be more awkward now, but she would rather embrace the discomfort of that then be alone.
